Omega Red Piercing & Tattoo

Tattoo was a 1st time for my son who has a laid back personality. Simple tat was extremely overpriced but was not going to wreck my kids experience that he waited 4 years to get. Artist was just rude for no reason…simple tat easy placement. Tat is good but for that price the service should have been focus on son and less on the history of his life that my kid wasn’t asking about.

Payed an excessive amount for a belly button piercing, only to end up with a surface piercing instead (which is more prone to rejecting.) The jewelry is about a centimeter above my belly button. My friend who went elsewhere got the same piercing for half the price, and got to pick the jewelry (I didnt) and the jewelry itself is bigger than mine. I tried to reach out via contact support and never received a response. I do not recommend. You pay quite a bit for such a poor experience.

The piercer ( who is also the owner apparently) did not sanitize either of my nostrils before piercing them. The needle felt dull and it hurt worse than any of my piercings I have gotten elsewhere (at other piercing studios ) even for my first nostril. The piercer also advised me not to clean the piercing at all and didnt tell me what size jewelry he had put in my nose . Overall an awful experience!

I wasn’t sure where to get my first tattoo so I called around to different places and the people at Omega Red were super helpful and made sure I got in that day to get my tattoo. The artist did everything he could to make my experience less intimidating as a first timer. Was only there for a short amount of time as the artist breezed through the tattoo perfectly, showing off 24 years of experience. I highly recommend anyone to get a tattoo here, new or experienced. I will definitely be back for more!

Went in kind of late for very small tattoo but the guys in the shop were nice and accommodating. TK was very nice, he made sure liked the placement and the designed. The tattoo had significant meaning for me with the semicolon project and losing a person very near and dear to me, I wanted someone who cared what they were doing. All in all I had a good experience

Took my daughter to get her first tattoo and Don told her he needed to make it quick cause he had to leave in 15 min for a tire appt. Mind you we had a noon appt time in advance. He was not gentle and it was not a pleasant first time experience. Rushing through the appt and leaving us feeling disappointed.

It was my daughter’s 7th birthday, and she’d been looking forward to getting her ears pierced for YEARS (as I’ve always told her when she turned 7, she could get them pierced). For the weeks leading up to her birthday, she talked about this several times a day, and told every person she knew that she was going to get her ears pierced on her birthday….so to put it lightly, she was excited.I made an appointment at Omega Red a week in advance—it was for 11:30 AM on a Monday.We got there at 11:25 AM and the place was dark and locked—clearly no one was there. We hung around a nearby coffee shop waiting for them to open, and they never did. I called and left a voicemail, but they never returned it. The disappointment on my daughter’s face was heartbreaking, and I felt terrible!Despite Omega’s website which states their hours are from 11 AM - 8 PM (and I had an appointment), they never showed. Omega Red is unreliable, unprofessional, and a waste of space on Cedar Falls Main Street.Luckily, I called Ritual (located on College Hill), and despite them being closed on Mondays, they answered their phone and even got us in that afternoon! Adam at Ritual was awesome—super kind, knowledgeable, and even gave my daughter an extra pair of earrings as a birthday gift…he was so thoughtful and definitely saved the day! Send your business that way, not to Omega Red.

Jeff (Jefē) was my artist today. He is incredibly talented and fast! He chose the gogeous colors that Id wanted and his work is absolutely beautiful. He has over 25 years of experience and is also great to chat with. Id recommend him to everyone and will definitely be back!!

Had a great experience at Omega Red. I stopped in at random to inquire about a tattoo and staff was great. They checked out what I wanted and helped me set up an appointment based on my schedule and the time required.I arrived at my appointment early but they were ready for me anyways. I spoke in detail with the artist, Mars, about my desired tattoo. He shared his experience and opinions and we worked together to make it happen. The work was quick, clean, superb and very professional. I could not be happier with the result or the experience. I highly recommend Omega Red and will definitely be back.

I want to give this shop two stars. Because the man who answered the phone was professional. However, I would STRONGLY caution against going to them for piercings or piercing problems/questions. The reason I am saying this is because I got my belly button pierced at Mohair Pear I was having some issues with a sinking ball. someone directed me to Omega Red. When I arrived I asked for a 14 gauge 5/8 and the gentleman who had answered the phone proceeded to trash Mohair Pear and say that the gauge they suggested was wrong and for pregnant women. The gentleman sold me a smaller bar. I called him sometime after and told him I was having the same problem with a sinking ball he said that it was normal for that to happen. It is not normal!! The bar he sold me was so small that it caused me too turn purple and I had to schedule an emergency appointment with Mohair Pear to fix it and get a corrected bar.It is now 14 gauge 5/8 and IS NOT for pregnant woman. It is actually for if you have a sinking piercing.I would NOT recommend this place for ANYTHING especially advice on piercings or tattoos based on my interactions. They seemed like they only wanted your money and didn’t care about the health and safety of their customers. They also told me not to clean my pearcing.

We always have a good experience here with piercings, have gone to other places in the cedar valley hands down recommend Omega Red, professional level beyond what Ive seen other places. Truly the best place to get piercings.

We had a great experience at Omega Red! My friend and I were able to get walk-in appointments today! It was her first time getting a tattoo. I really enjoyed our tattoo artists Mars, he was fabulous👌 The front desk guy was super helpful. Would definitely recommend Omega Red Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Jeff did my tattoos and was very patient to get the placement just where I wanted it. He left all decisions up to me and when I wasnt sure on color- he said to wait and add later- cant take it out once done but can always add. Lines are clean and tattoos are healing nicely. I went in for a double heart on my arm and left with a cross on my other arm too- which he was able to add during the appointment time. Would definitely go back- the front desk girl was very nice as well.

Went to omega about a year or so ago with my stepmom and My wife since they had some of the best prices around. Fast forward a year later I decided to go in and get a hand piece done since their tattoos help up so well and looked really damn good, I was greeted by some of the nicest staff and My artist was amazing he double checked everything before the tattoo and made sure I was comfortable the whole time, he even turned a fan on for me since I said I was kinda warm (Shoutout to jeff) lol 10/10 would recommend.

Was relatively easy to get an appointment scheduled and they communicated with me well! Everything about getting my septum pierced was clean, painless, & professional. The only qualm I have is not being given any directions for aftercare other than acting like it doesnt exist and leaving it alone. Wasnt prepared to feel like my someone had punched my nose for a week plus the swelling since this is my second piercing on my nose. But asked around for suggestions on care from friends who had had their septum done. Something I should consider asking more about next time.

Took our 7 year old in to get her ears pierced. Easy to schedule a head of time, clean environment, $133 to get lobes pierced, sterilize everything before he started.

This place was very easy to get an appointment schedule, they take a deposit to secure your spot. Tattooing is fast too... however- tattoo artists are not considerate of time, and show up rather late. Tattoo artist was over 10 minutes late, and took almost 2 hours to prepare their station, and trace the stencils of the tattoo. When actually tattooing, only took 30-40 minutes to finish (super fast and clean lines!) also, I understand not everyone wants to wear masks during this pandemic, but please do not cough in your client’s faces. It is extremely unhygienic and dangerous. Please be mindful of your time if you want to keep customers.

Got my first tattoo here to commemorate the passing of a close friend and I was obviously nervous. Jeffe was amazing explained the whole process and made the experience very enjoyable. 10/10 will go there again. Very clean

I went in for a nose piercing and my friend came in for an ear cartilage piercing. They were very professional yet were easy to talk to and made us comfortable. They talked us through the process and let us ask questions. Good after care advice and also told us to come in if we ever had questions about the healing process and they would look it over and help us. Highly recommend.

I’ve gotten a few piercings here: both sides of my nose, my vertical labret, and both of my eyebrows! i’ve always had my piercings heal with very little swelling, and have never had an infection! their jewelry quality is also amazing! i’ve never been able to find jewelry near me that’s as durable as i’ve gotten here. i adore this shop and can’t wait to come back to get more cool stuff.

I got 2 piercings here and the good thing was the person at the front desk was very nice. my septum piercing jewelry was so small I could barely see it and my conch hoop they put in was too small so when It got swollen it would tug and hurt so bad that was 2 months ago and it still hurts so bad. and I couldnt pick the size or gauge 🤷‍♀️ update it still hurts and has had irritation bump for months I have to but new jewelry

Mars did an amazing job on my tattoo! He took his time and made sure that it was something that I would love... which I am absolutely in love with it. I highly recommend going to Omega Red to get your tattoo because they will listen to what you want and are so easy to talk to!

The guy who does the piercings is not that professional got my nose and helix pierced there had to take both out because of the keloid I had. He told me not to clean my piercings l. Other then that I enjoyed my time there friendly place and everyone there is nice

My experience wasnt bad (just went there on December 30th, 2021), a small little hiccup during the piercing process due to my nose being a gusher (nose is bruised and has a small amount of swelling due to the slight problem with my nose). Sadly a few days later my nose ring popped off while I was blowing my nose. Thankfully I had just bought some spare rings and popped one in. Not fully sure why it happened (probably the swelling), but I am not dissatisfied with the experience as the guy who pierced me was very nice. Really this is probably just a fluke, I mean, none of us expected my nose to gush blood like that (picture cheesy movies where blood spurts out when a body part gets severed). All in all, not too bad of an experience and I am happy that I finally got this done.

Super happy with my experience! Walked right in and was helped immediately. Got a nose piercing and the guy was super nice and helpful. He helped me pick out a style and I even asked him what he thought would look best. Came out amazing, love it so so much!

I made a spontaneous decision to get my tongue pierced. Was terrified. But the guy piercing me was really calm and helped try to take my mind off of the needle and such. It was also very clean. I watched them sterilize everything myself. All in all highly recommend.

I went to get my nose pierced today, and it was fantastic. There was no wait, and he (Wade, I think) asked if I had any questions, explained the whole process, and asked if I liked the placement before he actually pierced it. I was very happy with my visit. He was even supportive when I whimpered and cried a little bit.

I went in on a whim to get my belly button pierced yesterday and had a great experience! I was a nervous wreck before and during the piercing, but the guy who did it (Wade, I think?) did a fabulous job both with the piercing and putting up with me. Very satisfied with my experience, and if I were to ever get another piercing, I would definitely go back!

I went in, nervous as hell about getting my lip pierced. I was calmed down almost immediately by the awesome receptionist whose name I didnt catch, we sat and talk to her while we waited to be pierced. And my piercer, Mike French, was top notch. Super easy to talk to, really easy going and always cracking jokes. A gentle yet steady hand, all I felt was a pinch and a pull, as my sister in law put it. Clean and friendly environment, great displays, an awesome experience overall. I know where Im going for my next piercing!

Went in with a simple question and left with a spur of the moment tattoo with my ladies name and a heart beat. Awesome experience. Got my first work done 40 years ago and Mars did a super job on my work. Ill be back for sure.

Ive gone to Omega Red in CF for all three of my tattoos, and recently to get my ears pierced. It has gone smooth every single time, ive healed well, and theyve been super friendly. I highly recommend this shop for your tattoo/piercing needs! theyre great.

Mars did an amazing job! He did three blue butterflies for my boys and they are beautiful! The detail is great! I only go to Omega Red for my ink- THE BEST!

It used to be great, but now its horrible. Artists are horrible jerks - one being Shaun. He did a crap a tattoo that he wanted to charge me $300 and when I said it needs to be fixed to look like the photo we drew up, he got angry and wouldnt do it until I paid him. I did and he wouldnt touch it because it was too late. I ended up having another tattoo artist fix it up for me at a different location, which was so nice. He even laughed at the outrageous price. My friend also recently went there and they THREW her drawing at her and said lets go. He legit THREW it at her. Its bull vrap there now. Dont go -- wait to go to people who own up to work, price, and manners

Over priced for mediocre work. I have multiple tattoos and went here for one of them. It ranks the lowest out off all my experiences. The tattoo artist was very full of himself and disrespectful. Wouldnt recommend to anyone. Wait a little bit to get in with a good tattoo artist. If you can get in within a day or two, the tattoo artist isnt very good. Dont go here. Thats all I have to say.

One of the tattoo artist is very rude, i called just to ask a simple question and he didn’t even let me talk or ask the question. just kept shutting me down. i also got my tongue pierced and the piercing is sideways causing The bottom of my tongue to swell and it is extremely irritated.

I have been to Omega Red three times. Twice for piercings and once for a tattoo. The first time I got my eyebrow done, but it got badly infected (not the shops fault) and I had to have a professional remove the jewelry. The professional told me the jewelry was of very low quality. The second time, I got my philtrum pierced. The person that pierced it didnt tighten the jewelry enough and the jewelry fell out that same night. I went to a different place to have it redone, and it turns out that the person who pierced me originally had the placement wrong.My tattoo experience was good. They were a bit expensive, but not bad.Ive talked to someone who used to work there, and they left because of the piercing practices.

I came here with the intent of getting a tattoo. The tattoo artist turned down all of my ideas and talked to me in a condescending way. After getting so many negative vibes from him, I decided I didnt want him to tattoo me anyway. I decided to get a piercing instead (my first other than ear lobes), and the piercing guy was super nice and did a great job. The two stars are for the piercing guy (would have rated him five if not rating the whole shop), the tattoo guy would have gotten zero stars.

Got my nose pierced there and they had a very nice studio, used clean needles and stud, answered all my questions and the whole process took under five minutes. Highly recommend!

Kind of upset I had to spend $45 on a little nose stud. Last time I went they were $20 which is still considered pricey but reasonable. I don’t know why the price more then doubled. Surgical steel/titanium nose studs can surely be found online for under $20.

The owner Wade Petersen is a known slumlord in Waterloo, probably runs omega red like he does his rental business, wouldnt put much stock into him, go to Rituals, far better than Omega Red.

Great conversations when I go in for piercings. Tattoos are worth the small wait. I especially appreciate them carrying on conversation with you to make you comfortable. Super people! 5th tattoo tonight! Love it!

I went in on a whim for a piercing that I was so nervous for. The workers were so kind and so understanding and very helpful. The process took less than 10 minutes. They were the nicest people.

Will never be back. My tongue bar is side ways. They repeirced it and it was still side ways. I ended up giving up on them giving me a straight tongue piercing. When I got it done I didnt have to sign any papers my ID was not checked and I was given minimal care instructions.

I had them do a tattoo and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome very professional very friendly very good quality work will definitely only use this place from now on

All piercing equipment sterilized before use. They do a great job, piercings were both quick and done with a needle. Care instructions given afterwards.

Only putting five stars so this is seen I went in and got my snake bites lip piercings and by the time I was done the gal that did it made me look like I got hit in the face multiple times with a crowbar I had to go to the emergency room to get one removed because it was infected the other one fell out but I had the hoops and both balls from the one that was removed and the one that fell out but I currently have to go get a Procedure to get a third ball removed from my lip dont get me wrong this is the first bad experience Ive had with omega red and have been there many times before and always recommended them until now
