Came in after I spoke with Ramiro about a coverup idea and booked an appointment, the entire experience was amazing and professional from the start . This shop houses some heavy artistry in tattooing and I would highly recommend this shop and any of its artists , especially Ramiro when looking to get any project done. Front desk was helpful and the environment was clean and friendly. I will be coming back for additional work for sure.

All I have to say is 5 stars isnt enough! My artist Rose was super sweet and professional. Made sure I was okay through the whole thing. Had the lightest hand also. Not once did she make me flinch or hurt. I will be going back!

We were 4 girls walking in for a bachelorette trip wanting something to commemorate the moment! They took us in and we even got to all sit in the same room while getting tattooed. Ramiro was our artiest and he was 10/10 on cleanliness, speed, and good conversation! 10/10 would go again! ❤️

Drove up from Central Texas and they knocked it out the park. Definitely the best tattoo experience in my life. Ramiro and his shop definitely take care of all the clients that enter the shop. Me and my wife come to dallas every year and today we decided we needed to get our matching tattoos saved and revived from how God awful they were! Controversy ink tattoo studio and our savior and legend artist Snow took on the challenge no other artist there would take and she did an absolute amazing job bringing our tattos back way better and more beautiful than ever! Flew all the way from Michigan to Dallas to get this piece. And it was worth the trip! Excellent work and customer service. All the artist in the shop have outstanding work, makes it hard to chose. The pricing was also good as well. Definitely going back to get my back done!

Giovanna is amazing when giving piercings she verifies with the client if the way the piercing is going to be done is how they want it. The process with her is super quick and simple. The pain level is as close to none as it can when getting it done with her. Will definitely do all my future piercings here with this shop. The tattoo designs also luck super good and the cleanliness of the place is amazing.

Snow is hands down the best artist I’ve ever had. She’s the sweetest with the best personality, so a two day session with her was pleasant and enjoyable!!! I gave her free rein for a sleeve with some of my own ideas, and she completely dominated it. She will be my artist for the rest of my tattoos, if my words aren’t enough, just look at the pictures😍Edit : I want to add, every single person in this shop was friendly, even the owner and his family were very friendly. This place was great! I found snow after finding the shop on instagram and loved her work. Snow responded quickly and was able to book me same week. Made it better than I thought it would be! Everyone in the shop was professional and uplifting. She ended up making it bigger than we originally discussed but didn’t charge extra. I definitely be coming back here for my next tattoo!

I came in as a walk in and was greeted immediately by the receptionist. Cuba was my tattoo artist today and needless to say he was very professional and did an amazing job. I came in wanting only one tattoo and left with two once I seen what an amazing job he did on the first!! I will definitely be returning!!!

Gio and the other two guys (didn’t catch names) we talked to were super sweet and easy to talk to. My piercing (rook) definitely hurt and she made sure I was all good. I’ll be back for sure

Ramiro did my memorial tattoo for me today. I lost my 4 year old pup on 3/8/24 and my loss has been unbearable. He brought my baby back to life for me and I will be forever grateful for the amazing tattoo. Thank you again Ramiro for doing this really special to my hear tattoo.

First time in the shop but they treat you like you’ve been their customer for years, amazing staff and service. I came to the shop with and idea but after taking to Cuba he came up with some even better. Excellent service!! Will come to get more tattoos done. I highly recommend Cuba excellent artist.

I went in for a cover-up and came out with a tattoo better than I expected. The time it took was definitely worth it and the I’m greatulful for the patience and care to make sure I was good at all times. 12 hour sessions are no joke! I came in for my birthday with my Bestie & did not receive a welcoming into the shop. I immediately became uncomfortable after waiting in the seating area without service for a period of time. Eventually, I was acknowledged and requested to use the bathroom. This area was kept clean and accompanied by pleasant candles. After completing the paperwork, I waited for the piercer to take me back for a nose stud. On our way to her station, Gio picked up a piece of trash off the floor and threw it away. She then proceeded to put on her gloves and open the jewelry packaging. She did not wash her hands after touching the floor. This really bothered me, but I kept it to myself as I was leary of retaliation. After the experience, we were charged $55 each, and provided a saline spray. The spray would be more effective if it were presented with a dropper or a pump. The aresol nozzle is wasteful as it sprays too much product over a large area.Also, there was a child in the shop. This did not seem safe nor appropriate.Overall, I will say this shop is more suited for tattoos rather than piercings. The ink displayed looked very well done.

Let me start this review by saying how much I loved this shop! It had a great vibe/energy and the tv’s at each artists station was a nice touch!What really made this shop so special though was Snow!!! I found Snow on instagram by looking for Dallas tattoo artists and I came across her page. I saw a lot of her previous work and decided she was the right artist for me as I was looking for someone to start the process of a sleeve with mandala/ornamental/geometric work. This girl is hands down the best tattoo artist I have ever met and worked with! From the beginning she was quick to respond when I first reached out to her and she took her time to really discuss my vision and made sure to understood what I wanted, although I already had full confidence she was going to come up with something stunning. When I finally met Snow she was so sweet and professional and made me feel completely at ease and comfortable! She truly is such a beautiful person on the inside and out. I didn’t know what to expect going into this appointment but she far exceeded any expectations I had. I could go on and on about how wonderful she is but her talent with tattooing is just as amazing to me. The pictures below are from my first session of two with Snow! Absolutely fantastic shop!! Not only is everyone there extremely kind, they are also super professional and make sure you understand everything! Val did my deer tattoo, and I’m in love with it :)!! She’s super fun, makes sure you like the design, placement, etc. Tons of potential!! Kal is also amazing with front house work, and videography of my tattoo! I got pierced by Kal @punkturedbykal on IG and they did such a good job. I got two vertical labrets as snakebites and love the result. Kal was thorough, checked with me extensively before doing the piercing, had a really good vibe and made me feel at ease. It wasn’t quick and painless but that was to be expected. I recommend!

Brought my husband into controversy to get a Father’s Day tattoo and it was a great experience! Conejo did an amazing job on his tattoo! He took him in short notice and was still really detailed with his work. Definitely recommend!

Sergio is the BEST!!! I found Sergio on instagram! I saw a lot of his work and decided he was the artist I wanted to do my leg sleeve. Sergio is the best tattoo artist I have worked with! He’s very kind and professional and made me feel completely comfortable! He always has great infectious control and his area is organized. He has exceeded all expectations I had. I could go on and on about how great and talented he is but his works speaks for itself!!

Came in a little more than 4 hours before close for a quick birthday tattoo as a walk in… one of the artists that was available didn’t seem too interested in what would have been a quick 4-6 inch one word tattoo. I’ve been to Controversy Ink 4 other times for a tattoo while they were at the last location on the 2nd floor and was satisfied with the work every time. Tonight’s tattoo wouldn’t have been big money but it would have been loyal money. I’m not dismissing the work, just a little disappointed in the customer service.

Came for a walkin tattoo. The lady checking me in was rude and short. She didnt even let me fully explain what I wanted. I said I wanted to talk with someone with an artistic perspective on my idea. She asked for a Google reference to cop and then gave me an artist who questionably didnt speak english? I would rather be able to communicate with the person permanently marking my body. I ended up just leaving. The experience was off-putting.

We were in town for a bachelorette trip and wanted tattoos! Ramiro is the absolute best love love love the tattoo, the energy in this parlor. If we are back in Texas will definitely stop by again!

I had my snake bites and angel bites done by Giovanna and she was very polite and explained how to care for them very well!! She also helped keep me calm while getting them. It was fast and easy. 💙

Me and my friend went to this studio for a piercing and a tattoo. I got my piercing done by Kal they were so amazing. They took there time making sure I liked the placement of how the industrial bar would fit in my ear with the anatomy that I have. We adjusted to get it perfectly where I wanted while still keeping it safe and sanitary. I love the end result so much! And I’ll be sure to get all my future piercings done by Kal!

I walked in at like 10:30 at night just looking to make an appointment for another day. Conejo came out, asked me what I was looking for and got me taken care of same night. Super nice guy and we were done a little after 1:00. Definitely recommend this place especially for night owls like me. Eyeball tattoo was already there if youre wondering why its so much more faded.

I flew to Dallas for a work trip and reached out to the shop looking for a spontaneous new piece with limited time to spare. I was linked up with miss Snow and she was AMAZING! Super patient with my travel delays, friendly, easy to communicate with. Highly recommend! Plus, their late hours are a huge bonus. Chances are, I’ll be flying back soon to do some more work with her.

Kal is absolutely amazing. I called and asked if anyone was available to check out a piercing that I was concerned about that I had gotten done somewhere else. I spoke to Kal on the phone and she insisted on staying after her work hours to make sure she was able to see me when I got there. This place is awesome! We were in town for a work conference and came here as a group of 9. 7 of us got tattoos… the art was fantastic and we all felt very well cared for. Everyone was extremely happy with the end result and the experience.

It’s been a week and half since I had my first tattoo done by Jose Alvarez at Controversy Ink. Despite it being my first tattoo ever and on my ribs (which is one of the most painful spots to get a tattoo at) it was a very comfortable experience and I will definitely be going back for another one from him, as well.It was very clean in the establishment, and everybody was responsive to questions and concerns. I never felt uncomfortable other than the actual pain of the tattoo itself. It’s healed very well so far, and one day, when I muster up the courage, I will go back for another one and maybe even check out their piercing options.Wonderful service and atmosphere, and amazing results. Definitely worthy of five stars.

So I had been looking for a piercer since my last one moved far from me and I came here and literally met my absolute most favorite piercer. Kal is absolutely amazing. I’ve gotten my industrial, and two helixes with them and they’re always so professional and very friendly. I love how they are so patient with you and truly care for how you’re feeling about the piercing. I wanted to get my girls pierced and they talked to me about booking an appointment so I can be ready for them and I got them pierced tdy!! They were so patient and really cared for how I was feeling and doing through all the whole process. I told them I was scared of the needle itself and they made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. Kal rocks, they’re my absolute favorite 💘 Will always come back to them 😊

I scheduled an appointment with a fairly large party (7) people and they worked with me and them to make sure we got the designs correct and pricing. Pricing was great, the artists were great and they even accommodated another person last minute. This is the second time I’ve gotten a tattoo from them and I love it. They also were great with two of my friends that were getting tattoos for the first time. I highly recommend.

A great experience! I was so lucky that Conejo was in the area. He took me as a walk in and finished a partial tattoo that a different artist had started at a different shop. He really breathed new life into the peice and made it pop much more by adding white ink. The only thing Im sad about is that I cant take him back to my hometown with me! 10/10 artist and shop

This place is top of the food chain for tattoo work and workers. Spent 5+ hours there with the company owner and was astonished by the level of professionalism and dedication he has for his shop. First, the owner came in on his day off to make sure I got my arm price done before I left town. Second, I was offered many over and beyond comfort items while I was sitting in my top of the line tattoo easel/chair. If you want to be treated with dignity and respect this is your only stop. Highly recommend Controversy to all!

Emmanuel did such a good job, I came in last night after a concert wanting some butterflies. Kalysta gave me the best piercing experience Ive ever had. I got 4 new ear piercings all in one session and they arent swollen, arent sensitive, no pain when sleeping or touching them just 24hr later. I will be going back to her for any future piercings when Im in the Dallas area.

My friend and I picked this place on a whim, something most people I feel try to avoid doing with tattoo work. BEST DECISION EVER. We went to Marco and my friend got a STUNNING piece done of an angel and a sparrow. *photo listed* From then on I decided he was my guy. I went back to him tonight and got a very important piece added to my arm. He nailed it, the line work is so clean and precise. He really is a master of his craft. My origami family looks great!

Went for a floating helix and a flat from one of their piercers named Kal and they made me feel so comfortable despite getting my ears stabbed you know lol and they did such a good job at placing my piercings too! My piercings are healing well and the spike jewelry they put in looks so cute! So run dont walk to go see Kal for amazing service and piercings guys‼️

I came in with my mom to get a tattoo and then came again the next day with my brother and sister in law. Katie B was our tattoo artist and she is an amazing person!! Just got my tattoo done here by Ramiro. The experience was exactly what I hoped for and more. The complimentary popcorn and water kept me comfortable while the stencil was drawn. The staff was friendly the whole time (I was there about 8 hours). The shop was extremely clean and Ramiro absolutely killed my tattoo! He was professional and creative and put my ideas into a beautiful piece, I couldn’t be more happy. I even got to watch Netflix (also complimentary) during the process. Not to mention the peaceful lake view you have it at the front. Will definitely be back soon and highly recommend.

Came in hoping to get the tattoo we wanted at the price range we were comfortable with and the owner himself came and talked with us to find a solution. He had and apprentice (lance) with great work do our tattoo and his work was very clean. Very comfortable atmosphere for both the person getting the tattoo and the ones waiting with plenty of accommodations for their customers. Im definitely going to come here as my go to spot for tattoos.

D did my tattoo today and OH MY GOD! He did such an amazing job! Not only was he super friendly and really easy to talk to, but he spent almost an hour just making sure that my thigh piece was everything I wanted! In my opinion, he went above and beyond for me and I am so thankful! He is an amazing artist and a really cool guy to spend 4+ hours with!

Love this place! Met Ramiro (owner) when he did someone else I knows ink. Had a great conversation and loved the work he did, so I setup for my consultation. We were on the same page and he had great ideas to add while putting it together. I did two half sleeves within a week and felt at home the entire time. Great guy and an exceptional tattoo artist. Will refer everyone to go this direction. He is also always looking for ideas to give back to his community. A 2nd shop will be opening soon as well.

Jesse Lee Davalos (artist) is why I love this place! Ive gotten 4 pieces if art added to my body in 8 weeks! He has knockout talent! Also the shop is open 24/7/365!! There are a couple of other artists with good portfolios too, though I will stick with Jesse!Cleanest shop Ive ever been in, and policies to keep it that way are strict but are there for protection of everyone! Love this shop and artist!!They offer drinks and snacks. Have frequent specials if you follow their page on FB!! Took my daughter there today for her 18th birthday!! We drove a couple hours to Dallas. We googled tattoo shops in Dallas that accepts walk-ins. The first shop we went to was completely dead with artists just sitting in their section and was told they wouldn’t do it today without an appointment. So we then used google again and found Controversy ink. I first called to ask if they took walk-ins. The guy on the phone was super polite and helpful!! Snow did her tattoos today and was so great!! Personality was on point she made my daughter feel so comfortable in her own skin!! The entire shop is a vibe!! I absolutely love my daughter’s first tattoo/tattoo experience!!

I took an Uber to this shop for a piercing with my boyfriend and when I got there the piercer had already left due to a power outage. The owner was kind enough to give us a ride to a nearby shop for my piercing:) 10/10 customer service

I am beyond happy with my tattoo and the entire experience. From the greeting at the friont desk to the completion. The tattoo was a very symbolic thing for me. I worked with Mikey who was amazing. I sent him my inspiration tattoo and when I made it to my appointment I told him that I trusted him on how he planned to make this inspiration work as a cover up on and old tattoo. When I finally saw the finished product I was blown away. It was perfect!!! Mikey is so laid back and easy going which made the entire experience super easy. I am already thinking about my next tattoo!!

These guys are awesome, my wife and I went in on a walkin with no appointment and were not disappointed. The artists are very professional and accommodating. The owner Ramiro personally worked with me until 1am to get my tattoo done and its amazing, Coming from Alaska to Texas and on a walk in without an appointment they did not disappoint. Pricing was half the cost of anywhere in Alaska and the work is second to none. When back in the area this is definitely where we will be going.

I was a walk-in appointment and threw a Major piece on the first artist I saw, that will take several sessions. We came to Texas for a softball tournament. They had enough artists that they got all 8 of us done within 2 hours. The atmosphere was great, the staff was friendly, clean environment. We did simple tattoos but they came out perfect!

I want to preface by saying I came in only for a small tattoo and my artist was amazing! My tattoo came out exactly how I wanted and looks great and I will definitely come back for more tattoos. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the lady with the red hair at the front when we first walked in. I came with my friend who wanted to get a few ear piercings. She told the woman who then gave her the price and said she would go get the different jewelery options to show her. She left and never came back with the jewelry options. I went back to get my tattoo which took about 20 minutes and after I was done and had driven to the ATM and back she still hadn’t helped my friend. When I called her over again to ask about the ear piercings, she acted confused and said they didn’t have jewelry options but then walked away and came back with a single stud in a package and said this was it. She then said she could do the piercing herself right now, but we weren’t even aware she was a piercer because she seemed to have had plenty of time to do the piercing since we had been there. We were not comfortable having her do the piercing and we also had to leave anyway due to an emergency. But the manager was very nice and apologized to us multiple times which we appreciated very much and I want to reiterate that I will be back for more tattoos!

Very professional. I had Snow for my arm tattoos and she was very kind and knew what she was doing. Everyone there was very easy to work with.

This is going to be my favorite place to be for the next 5ish years. 1) Mikey was so gentle and efficient I feel asleep during it and it was only like 2 hours. 2) The place is super clean and inviting and even smells nice cause of the popcorn machine which has really tasty popcorn. 3) The sheer skill is crazy I made my appointment the night before and the design is stellar. It’s not even healed yet and I’m planning my next visit would definitely recommend to any and everyone.

I came in from Florida to be with my new born grandson and since he was my first grandchild, I wanted to do something special. I reached out to Jose to discuss what I wanted to have done, sent him a photo of what I wanted and we set a day for me to come in and he showed me what he came up with. He was very professional and when before starting the session, he went over details with me and even when he drew up the piece, I went over something I may want changed and he gladly did that and even gave me a few other ideas. I was very pleased that he covered the all details. He made sure that the arm rest was covered and protected, opened everything in front of me, and sanitized the area of my wrist he was working on. All around the shop itself was very nice and organized and I look forward to having more work done with Jose in the future. I followed my amazing artist Dani over. And the difference in experiences from her last studio to here was enormous. I was offered popcorn, hot chocolate, water, during my tattoo. And as always, Dani did an amazing job on my tattoo (I highly recommend you ask for her next time youre looking to get a new tattoo). And felt very comfortable in the shop, was even able to watch Netflix to pass the time while being tattooed. If I could give it more than 5 Stars, I absolutely would!

I got my first tattoos here a couple months ago and for someone who specializes in fine line tattooing, the tattoo I got has many mistakes. I get not every tattoo can be perfect but this tattoo is horrible. Would not recommend to get fine line tattoos here.

First thing Ill say is go to Jo for piercings. Shes the best piercer Ive had honestly! Ive gotten my nose and nipple piercing by her and she made it a smooth process and was attentive. Even with the aftercare shes there when u have any questions on the healing process.
