I recently went to Oakwood for the first time to get matching foot tattoos with a friend. We were told to be there at 11am and we were but still waited for over 2 hours. We had a set budget in mind and the visiting artists from Trader Bobs in STL were happy to work with it. They came up a beautiful design from the photos we gave them and we were very happy with the finished art work. I had never used Oakwood before because I’m not into cartoon like tattoos but they made ours look realistic and I would def use this shop again.

Crimson was amazing and made sure I was comfortable with my tattoo experience. Aaron is also the best in the west. Give them your money. Now.

Love these guys! aaron has done 3 of my tattoos (grey ones in pics) and chris has done another (color feather). different styles from both of them but id definitely recommend either! reasonable prices, extremely talented artists

My go to for ink. Been to both Stonecipher and Rodgers. Both are very professional, exceptionally talented, and kind. The staff overall are friendly and refreshingly quirky without being elitist. Style varies by artist, from old school to new age with dark, steady lines and vibrant colors.

Alex Owens is the BEST artist youll ever find in the area. He went above and beyond with the idea I gave him, and his work is absolutely breathtaking. He made me feel at ease and was very patient with me when I was nervous or indecisive. Not to mention the fact that hes one of the most interesting conversationalists Ive ever met in my life! Definitely book him if you get a chance

Tea did an excellent job on my piece! Even had to make some last minute adjustments due to her not being forwarded an updated email I sent, which has nothing to do with her. She made these changes on the fly and did such an incredible job. Only artist Ill be going to from now on!

Im on my 5th tattoo from Oakwood. I absolutely love this place. I have had 4 different artists and theyve all been great. I wasnt 100% sure what I wanted and Im not an artist so I described what I was thinking and they designed most of my tattoos with just verbal descriptions. Ill be back to finish my arm sleeve 😁

I’ve gotten all three of my tattoos done here, and each time I was very happy with the results. Ty and Tyler are both great, and everyone is professional and kind. I don’t have the highest pain tolerance, but they’re always so nice about it and do their best to make the experience a good one for me and make sure I’m comfortable.

Im out of state visiting family and wanted to get a tattoo. I got recommended the shop from my uncle. I called ahead of time to see their availability, and luckily I was able to come right in. My appointment was with Aaron and he was super kind and polite and courteous. He walked me through my tattoo, placement, and aftercare. His work is amazing and very clean. The other artists were very kind as well and my uncle ended up booking an appointment! The shop is very clean and well organized and Ill definitely be coming back. I got my first tattoo there a week or two ago and I got charged $80 for a tattoo not even half the size of my finger! Not only that, the tattoo was rushed and after they finished, they didn’t even tell me how to care for it, they just assumed I knew how to! Now my tattoo is ruined! Waste of money! Would not recommend coming here for your first tattoo!!

This is my go-to shop. I have enjoyed every experience here with every person. I participate in their annual toys for tays. love ink for a cause. I always suggest this shop to anyone that asks.

Aaron is one of my absolute favorite artists! Very creative can pitch him any idea and he will bring it to life!! The other artists are amazing as well and very friendly!

Oakwood Tattoo was recommended to me by a family friend. I live an hour and a half away and after the beautiful fairy tattoo Ty Rodgers did on my arm, I will continue to make the drive. Definitely found my forever artist. I was a little hesitant to get such a big tattoo (big for me anyway) but after I saw how perfect his stencil was I didnt care anymore. Hes very reassuring and comforting. I brought in an extremely detailed picture and he was able to put as much detail into it as possible without it looking crowded. He drew it up based on a tiny picture they took of my horribly cracked phone screen. I thought that was incredible. lol. His work is phenomenal and I couldnt be happier with it. Hes a very focused artist with a light hand. Thats a small detail but it matters. I also cant believe how reasonably priced they are. The place is awesome all around... Especially the toilet. Youll know what Im talking about once you see it. I would give them 1000 stars if I could. 500 for the toilet alone. lol. I cant wait for my next tattoo! Thank you Ty!

Aaron did an awesome job constructing a design for what I had in mind. Actually it turned out way better than what I had envisioned. Loving my new phoenix aka fire chicken lol. Oakwood Tattoo is the only place I trust to do my ink. Highly recommend for one of a kind custom designs & excellent quality work at a fair price.

Oakwood is so professional from the moment you walk in until you leave. Ty does outstanding work! He really is top notch.

I brought a picture into the shop in attempt to get a good idea of length of time and price for a tattoo. The front desk girl ( not a tattoo artist ) began to give me a price with the assistance of a artist who joined into the conversation. First of all, no receptionist is going to quote me a price on something she has no clue how long it’s going to take to do the job. I left with a price of approx 5 hours / $600. I went elsewhere here in town got it done picture perfect for $275.

My artist (Tyler) was very reassuring when I mentioned I was a little nervous to get my first tattoo. He was calming while maintaining professionalism, and he did an amazing job. Loved the experience.

Nicest and most clean tattoo shop in Decatur. all of the artists do great,and solid work,years of experience,and I recommend looking into the portfolios and checking them out. if youre in the area,THIS is the shop you want to get tattooed at. I just recently moved to central IL,and after looking into the tattoo shops in the area,this is the most reputable without a doubt.

Got a CM Punk tattoo from Chris over the weekend and I cant recommend him enough. Barely scabbing and wasnt that sore after. Just a rad dude that did a great job. I am very appreciative and cant wait to connect for another piece in the future.

Run by Little Frank. He is a very nice and trustworthy guy. Very clean and professional shop. All the artists are talented and professional. Well worth the price. You get what you pay for. This is the place to go in central illinois.
