Expo Piercing Ink

I went in and got my industrial and the piercer wasn’t sure if he could even do it on my ear but they proceeded to do it because that’s what I requested as I was in town for a brief moment a week later I had to go to a different piercer back where I lived and they said because how my ear was created it wasn’t made for the industrial that the piercer had just shoved it in my ear and it was rubbing against my ear causing me all sorts of pain. Usually I am happy with expo about my piercing and tattoo but not with this experience I trusted a piercer there who had loads of experience and they messed up big time.

I had my nose pierced by Chris & it went great. Only hurt for a second, healed perfectly & looks perfect. He was cool as hell, professional & told me everything he was doing before he did it. I wouldnt let anyone else but Chris do my piercings. If I could give him more than 5 stars I def would.

Mr Chris gave me a dermal piercing & it turned out awesome. It was only a little sore first two days. Along with no black eyes. A week later a little yellow from healing. You all gotta visit him excellent work with walk in prices. Just wanted to say. Thank You❤ 🤍 💙 Cowgirl UP

I had a belly piercing on Monday. I was nervous. I dont remember her name. But she made me feel relaxed. The piercer he was also nice . He made me feel relaxed. I thought it would hurt more than it did. I would recommend me then. Prices are responsible. Happy Early Birthday to me

I got my septum done, and it was so painful that I had to get it removed. I went to my nearby piercer, and they told me it was placed wrong and to check back with Expo. I understand its one of the hardest to do, but I have received terrible customer service trying to follow up after the initial piercing. Ive called twice, and Ive been told that I wasnt able to come in because the piercer was leaving for the day. I also asked for my nostril jewelry to get removed, and it was, but the stud put in was so sharp my nostril was gushing blood when I took it out.

Got two tattoos from Jessica Kloos today and I’m in love! She took the time to redesign a tattoo my step mom got and was totally professional and cool with it. She kept the conversation going during our tattoos and was very friendly. 10/10 recommend her! :)

Expo has been awesome for a loooong long time now!! I loved Nick as a piercer and the current piercer is awesome too!! Will continue to here for my piercings and introduced my son to this place as well! Thanks for always being the best 👌🤘

The piercing guy was extremely quick, and waked me through exactly what he was gonna do. The piercings, two nostril, were extremely reasonably priced, about 90 for both and am after care solution. They are slightly uneven to each other BUT its literally just because my nose is uneven. Im extremely satisfied with the customer service, and the service itself!

I usually love this place and have gotten my nose done here but the other day my friends and I went in to look around a bit and as soon as we entered the guy covered in tattoos behind the counter, very loudly started complaining that we were there. it made my friends extremely uncomfortable so we ended up leaving without looking much. just really upset about it bc i use to love this place😪

Rudest piercer ever . Yelled at me & my mom because we couldn’t hear he was calling us when people where talking very loudly then he continues to cuss and say he shouldn’t even pierce us because we can’t listen i’ve been going him since i was 14 and always been rude but never to this extreme

Got my eyebrow piercing here! He was super fast and it barely even hurt!

This place is an absolute joke. Calls to fire someone for being undependable yet she called in sick 3 times 2 of which had a drs note and the other she was marked as no call no show. Tried making her find her own cover when she was indeed sick, which falls under federal law that it is not her responsibility. The manager was petty when she made up gift bags for all employees. All other employees were filled. That is showing favoritism in the work place. Jess did you just want her gone because she was cute, which is a form of discrimination. Then try to ban her from the store and mall when she came to pick up her last check. If you fire people because you you are jealous, you shouldnt own a business/manage a business. Im surprised this business hasnt been sued yet.

Staff is very friendly, easy to talk to, and very accommodating with any questions you have. Went from over by the capitol to merle hay today to get my eyebrow and septum pierced. Great price for everything included, 10/10 will only go here for any body mods i get from now on.

Great experience with piercings: I had 3 kids that wanted 3 different styles of piercings. We went in, we were able to fill out the forms quickly. We were given information on how to care for piercings afterwards. Our piercer was super friendly and consulted on each piercing. He then did a great job doing his job, the piercings went really smooth and everyone was happy with the results. We will be back.

I got a piercing there the 20th of January for my 16th birthday and applied for a job. Got ghosted! My piercing was done incorrectly and got infected so I asked for advice and got ghosted again these people are unprofessional! I won’t be getting any other piercing from them again

My friend and I got our naval piercings this weekend and they came out great! It was very quick, probably in and out in 2 minutes which was very convenient and the piercer was very nice. I see a lot of people on here complaining out the other staff however the front desk people were very professional to us. Will be going back for all my piercing needs!

I got my 3rd piercing today from Chris and honestly I don’t think I will ever go anywhere else but here. He is so nice, and the piercing was super quick. Definitely recommend hin to anyone wanting to get a piercing.

I got a tattoo and my male artist (god I wish I remembered his name) was so respectful and understanding of my wants and needs. It came out beautifully and it has been a fantastic experience and will come here for more tattoos. But my friend got a piercing by a woman and both artists were genuinely great fun and made it safe, kind and worth while.

I got my nostril pierced here. the piercing was great, perfect placement & the piercer was quick and super friendly. then, i thought my piercing was infected, went back to the shop to buy jewelry and the staff noticed and were extremely helpful& knowledgable! the piercer told me i have a keloid, and exactly how to fix it. it’s now improving so much with his advice! the bump is almost gone after just 2 days of following his instructions. another piercer elsewhere gave me the completely wrong advice to care for my piercing…but these people know what they are doing! Highly recommend.

Got the other side of my lip pierced and after the heal process an 100% satisfied. My piercer spent a good chunk of time measuring the anatomy of my face before the first mark. I worried after initial swelling that the placement was off, but my piercer reassured me if I hate it after the healing process to come back in and get it redone at no charge.Amazing placement, amazing piercer. Will definitely look into a tattoo next!!

The manager is extremely unprofessional talking about an employee to other employees, she retaliates and cuts hours if you ask for time off. Instead of getting on here and being rude to people that leave 1 star reviews or threatening to sue for slander she needs to take some classes on how to be a manager before someone sues her. Now wonder why there is such a huge employee turnover.Update: the manager continues to talk about employees to other employees. Maybe the owner needs to find a new manager before the store is sued for slander. And the manager also needs to read up on Iowa and federal laws before she even became a manager.

I have never had a bad experience with anyone here and the manager Jess is the most straight up manager and I love her she helped me with my dermil piercing and Chris was awesome also awesome himself such a badass place place to go I do and will recommend this place to anyone and everybody

I got the snake eye piercing done here! The piercer was super friendly and the piercing was very quick but painful of course! However he did not give me a long enough bar for swelling, I had indentations from the balls on the end pushing into my tongue and it was painful. The ball on the left side fell off 5 times in just 24 hours because the bar is too short. I wouldn’t recommend getting this specific piercing done. I should’ve done more research before I got it done so that is my bad, but I do wish the piercer would’ve informed a little more on it. It’s super cute but just not worth the hassle.

Walked in and talked to Chris the body piercer.. was thinking about getting my nipples done. He assured me on the procedure and everything. Instead of waiting I went a head and got my nipples pierced. The whole procedure took all of a minute or 2. It was dont quick and professionally. I would recommend him to all my friends. Thank you Chris for doing such a great job. Ill be back to see you soon..

I went at got my earlobes pierced and it was super fast and super professional. Aftercare was very easy to follow and it healed up nicely. Staff and piercer were all very friendly to talk to. Thinking about getting a tattoo from here now!

The experience with Jessica has been nothing but amazing. She always makes it a point to help as needed and even asks if she can help in anyway. She is very polite and so sweet. I enjoy seeing her smiling face when I walking. If I could have her for all services I would make it a point to ask for her specifically. She Is such a wonderful hair stylist and human being. I love her as a stylist and as a person. Thank you Jessica for the amazing experience.

Great place had Brock as my tattoo artist and he killed it. Definitely will have him do some more work for me. Very talented. The piercer is awesome also got a ear piercing and it was slick very professional. And Jess up front is always nice and great to deal with for sure. Would definitely recommend them for any of your tattoo or piecing needs!!

The big girl with all the piercings and tooth gems needs a reality check and to lose the attitude, won’t ever be going there again after years of getting piercings from here. Oh also you can buy your own gem kits for $33 on Amazon that do the same thing, she’s just ripping people off.

I am just now reviewing but the piercer there was AMAZING! I was nervous but it was pain free and quicker than I could blink! 2 years now with my nose piercing and have had 0 problems! Also shout out to my tattoo artist Jessica! She is hilarious, kind and flexible! An amazing artist as well! I only see her!

My husband and I both were able to come in last minute for tattoos by Jessica today. She did a great job taking my daughters drawing and making it an excellent tattoo, she was friendly without being overly chatty (which is a huge perk for me!) and did such a great job for both of us. Will definitely be back for more ink and the next time my daughter & I need a piercing!

Jessica is super helpful and friendly. You walk in and know you’re getting 5 star service with her! Great to talk to and full of knowledge so I leave with a better understanding of what I’m looking for. Great stylist, also! Does absolutely amazing hair and provides a great experience! I went to get my doubles and my cartilage / helix pierced. Chris did it and he did a wonderful job! I could tell he really knew what he was doing and I was a little nervous but he really helped make me feel calm! Everyone there was very nice and willing to help! He explained everything he was doing while he was doing the piercings and I felt very comfortable the whole time. I would definitely recommend going there for piercings.

Every time I have went for a piercing everything went perfectly. Piercer was super nice and always explains things. Not once have i had a rude interaction here.

Very nice piercer his name was Chris. Walked me through it and sent me the aftercare email. The issue is with the other staff. I had mine done 2 times there when I went to reach out with questions I was met with rudeness and got no help. I was told to just took at the email. I still have no answers and feel like I wasted money going to this place a second time.

I’ve gotten my first piercing and my nose pierced here and they went perfectly everything healed amazing. Then I went to pierce my other ear. The manager who I respect and find very kind and easy to talk to asked me if his “apprentice” could pierce my ear. (Keep in mind she has no clue what she is doing) But without hesitation I said yes just to not be rude. She was a little older than me so I figured she had some type of good experience. I was very wrong. It’s been about 4 or 5 months since I’ve gotten my ear pierced and it got super infected and is still in the healing process. I’ve had to go to the doctors office for ear pain more than twice. DO NOT LET ANYONE GIVE YOU BODY MODIFICATIONS UNLESS IT IS A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL!

My fiance and I went here to get our sons name tattooed on us and it was awesome! Very great professional customer service skills with a nice clean sanitary work space as well. We had Gage Brim do ours and his work is phenomenal!!!! He takes his time and charges decent prices. He also works with customers to satisfaction and goes out of his way to treat you well like family. We will definitely return to ONLY him from now on.

I have been tattooed at Expo a few times by Brock. He’s been great to work with. Took my ideas, did exactly what I wanted but even better! His work has always exceeded my expectations. My time there during my sessions are always comfortable. Great conversation. He’s a great artist and very kind.

I have went here for every piercing that I have. I followed the care instructions provided in my email and have never had a issue with any of my piercing! Absolutely love this place, the piercer and the front end people! 😁😁

I’ve never had a piercing before. When my wife called the phone was immediately picked up and provided the information we needed. The piercer Chris was amazing. He did a great job at calming my anxiety, fast, and provided me with info to take care of the new piercing at home. 5/5

The piercings are way too affordable if you ask me compared to other locations around they do a quick job I do suggest calling ahead for their artist hours or any questions you may have

Took my 3 year old for ear piercings today, by the end of the day he had taken it out. The staff was great and let me bring him and the jewelry and put it back in for me free of charge and were so nice and understanding! I will be using them for all my piercing needs from now on!!!

I have gotten both my nose and belly button piercing done at expo and both have been all around amazing experiences. From the friendly mannerisms from the piercer and employees in the store to helping me with my piercing problems, I will always suggest going her to my friends and family members due to such a warm and comfortable environment. Wouldn’t go anywhere else to get any future piercings done!!

It was very difficult to even book a tattoo appointment because the tattoo artist never answered the phone or texts. And if I went into the shop they were always busy at the moment. And when we finally did meet they seemed excited but wouldnt look me in the eye. Very strange. If youre running a business customer care is important.

I got my septum tapered here earlier and the workers were rude and unhelpful. Another hole was created during the process and with the wrong needle! I reacted to the pain from the piercing by moving the piercers hand from my face and he cussed me. He was unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. From that moment on he spoke to me in a harsh manner and never took accountability for his mistake. They provided no aftercare!

Experience has always been good except one time, I e been here many times. I was getting my tragus pierced, the piercer did the first side no problem but the second side was a different story. He was causing me so much pain my ears started ringing and I was about to pass out, this us not normal for me. He finally decided to wait until the owner came, he was on his way. Come to find out the first guy hadnt pierced it straight. The owner gave me my money back for all piercings I received that day which amounted to $120. So horrible turned into not so bad.

A friend went here and the artist dropped them from their client list because their skin couldn’t “take the yellow ink” not exactly a professional if you ask me. Maybe instead have a conversation and see if there’s a different alternative?

I have gotten tattoos by Brock and Kel which were amazing. Very friendly and professional. I have also had my hair cut and colored by Jessica and each time have loved it. Very professional and great outcome.

This place is HORRIBLE! I went in with my daughter to get her pierced and they said the piercer was not available, but to me we could pre-pay and they would call us. They gave us a $5 discount for the trouble and told us if we found someone to do it sooner, they would refund the money. I came back in today (one day later) and was told they would NOT Issue a refund and acted like I was lying. The woman at the counter just called the manager who said no refund would be issued, even though their employee said it would be. They told me that the person who told me this shouldnt have and that I signed a waiver saying I would forfeit a refund. COMPLETELY RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!

Got my septum pierced here. The guy pierced my cartilage. Piercings are non refundable so there’s nothing I can do about it?

I got my septum pierced... ITS CROOKED!! It looks stupid. The piercer wasnt very friendly either. Im upset and my boyfriend is mad because we waited over a hour for unfriendly service and a CROOKED piercing. I also never got care info in my email like i was told. Wont go back here again.

Jess was wonderful. So friendly and really did an amazing job. This was a huge tattoo for me especially being my first one. I was so nervous but she was friendly and made the whole experience so much easier. Its so beautiful.

Went to get matching tattoos with a friend and though I have had multiple tattoos done here by a different artist I am so monstrously disappointed. Our tattoos do not match, and as much as I was convinced I was just being dramatic during the tattoo process, she and I both have scarring and ink loss in the same exact spot. These were pieces done almost 2 weeks ago and are still relatively painful to the touch, and up until 3 days ago were cracking and bleeding. I now have a 2 1/2” scar on my arm without much ink in it. The only reason I am giving a 2 star instead of 1 is because dude was very nice and had great customer service (but pricey) i will not be returning, or recommending people here for tattoos which I have done for a few years now. Just so bummed out.

Would rate zero stars if I could. I asked for an industrial piercing. When picking out the bar I wanted I asked for a smaller bar because I have smaller ears and the man refused to give me one, even though I was paying for it with my own money. Then, as I went in the booth to get the piercing the piecer didn’t even let me choose the position of which I wanted the piercing. So now I have a very vertical bar piercing. At the end of the horrible experience the girl at the checkout asked me if I needed sea-salt water spray for the piercing. I replied “yea, I wasn’t given any”. Then I paid $76. ABSOLUTELY TOO MUCH! After I waited for her to give me the spray and she stared at me and said “do you need something”? I then replied “the sea salt water spray “ she then tried to tell me that I said I didn’t need it. Lastly I had ended up paying too much for such a horrible experience. PLEASE go someplace elsewhere, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

My friend and I came in to get our ears pierced, hers for the first time and mine for the 3rd. It was as quick and painless as possible and a very nice experience! All of our questions were answered and afterwards I needed some help getting the right size jewelry for other piercings and they were more than happy to help!

Got my belly pierced and the guy and girl are Awesome ! Went back for an alleric reaction and he switched it out for free and told me to come back in a week if it doesnt get better . This is the best, most caring piercing place ! I recommend this place if I could 100 star rate it I would !

I had a piercing done and the manager was disrespectful and rude. The piercer was aggressive and spoke to me in a harsh manner and never provided aftercare for my piercing I do not recommend coming here ever!!

The piercer has been here many years is very good at making u feel comfortable and welcome he did my belly button 13 years ago and my nipples last year . Had a bad experience with a tattoo artist that no longer works there but most recently had work done by kel n was very satisfied

So as I am writing this I will be posting this to go with it as will since the employee wanted to follow me to clearance and harass me call me so many names it will be posted to TikTok too any way I have a doctors note to back it up I came in for cartilage piercing and they emailed me a way to keep my piercing clean nothing was given to me really just email really any way it won’t let me post a here or I would I got a ear infection it been please check out my TikTok I will have my followers keep up with this I posted the picture on here please look at them also the doctor notes too before they delete them

I have gotten most of my piercings done here and I have always been happy with the service I received. The staff is always very helpful, professional and fun.

Went and got a Medusa piercing and it’s not even in the center of my lip. I’m so irritated by it that i literally just want to take it out. There’s no Way to fix a misplaced lip piercing other than to redo it. And I’m sure they wouldn’t give my money back so i won’t even bother.

I was really nervous to get my septum pierced and the staff was so nice! they quickly got everything set up for me with a good price! i loved it!

Unless You Want To Pay Someone To Damage Your Piercings DONT EVER GO HERE. Went In To Get Two Clear Lip Retainer And They Put In Two Different Sizes In My Mouth. I Even Told Her I Was In Too Much Pain, So She Puts Ointment On The Tip And Continues To Shove It In. I Now Have Two Different Size Lip Holes And Out 15$ What A SAD Excuse For A Piercer.

I got my cartilage piercing done two years ago and it still never fully healed, and the angle of the piercing is crooked. Only good thing is that the piercer was nice. Too bad it is low quality.

I got my belly button pierced and it was always infected. I went to a different piercing place to get it checked out and it was done too high. The belly button ring wasn’t even in my belly button but above it and it was too close to the surface. Awful job! DONT EVER GO HERE! THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

If I could give a zero star I would. I was there looking for a gift when I overheard the sales lady tell a customer that she was lying and would not let the customer talk to a manager who was on the phone with the sales lady behind the counter. Needless to say I didnt stay to buy anything and will never go back.
