Highly, highly recommend Bree! I can not speak highly enough of her. She is incredibly kind and extremely talented. I was a little nervous to get my foot tattoo even though I have about 12 other pieces, but the whole experience was phenomenal and not as painful as I thought! Her and her apprentice were very attentive and caring, a dream tattoo shop experience in itself. You can really tell the effort she put into learning and perfecting her craft. I drove an hour to get tattooed and would recommend everyone and their mother looking to get tattooed to check out Bree!!

I had a very unpleasant experience. While she may be talented, Bree/Artsy Queers professionalism, time management and customer service skills are lacking. For my birthday, I had an appointment for a special she was running for tiny tats. Upon arrival (EARLY), I checked in, picked my design and waited. And waited, and waited. Until I finally asked at the 25-minute mark what was going on? The clueless receptionist said she thinks shes running behind and she would text her and let me know. At this point, 30 minutes passed and still nothing. The receptionist literally updated every else around me waiting for other artists. I left after 40 minutes had passed AND STILL NO UPDATE OR INFORMATION! Then, after I leave, Bree just cancelled my appointment, via a text service. So still upset, I replied saying well yeah after I waited 40 minutes with no explanation. The rude artist goes on to give me the run around about how she is soooo busy on her event days that I should assume I would have a wait. She then proceeds to tell me how everyone else was ok with waiting. All of that may be true but that was not COMMUNICATED TO ME WHEN I CHECKED IN. It was a waste of time, and I am sure she doesnt care about ONE customer when she has all these very cute google reviews. It was rude and entitled behavior, tattoos are a LUXURY not a necessity. You are in the SERVICE industry and I was disgusted by how I was treated after trying to support another woman in business. I have never been treated this way by a tattoo artist in Michigan. She took my $40 deposit and did not honor my appointment nor value my time. So I hope she feels good about herself for the sassy little comebacks and my dissatisfaction. Get over yourself, youre not the Beyonce of tattoos.

This review is long overdue! Bree Sinclair (@Artsyqueer) did a fine line piece on me over the summer from their flash collection. Not only did they do an impeccable job but they also worked with me to add a few details that personalized their original design. Bree was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend.

I booked with Artsy Queer like i always do because of their kindness, patience, professionalism and pizazz! She made space for me to feelcomfortable in a welcoming environment. she sterilized all the equipment while she gave me time to decide and be sure of what i wanted to get tattooed. I also enjoyed when they were done with my tattoo and took pictures of the work to send to me. My friend who popped in to witness the magic also had a great time since Artsy was kind to his presence and we all had a beautiful conversation after the service was provided. I appreciated that i could have time to adjust after getting tattooed and not feel rushed out. i can tell that this person actually cares about their clients which is of utmost importance. 5/5 would recommend!

This place has a great lineup of artists with very real skills. Very diverse styles that cater to a lot of different tastes. Theyve got some seriously talented local Black artists to support here.Its not just about the talent here, its also the atmosphere. The artists here are professional, but also a wildly friendly bunch of folks.I had the pleasure of working with Bree/ArtsyQueer (she/they) on several occasions now and theyre something special. They have done beautiful fine line work on me, but they also know how to throw down a great flash event. Think free drinks, snacks, and sometimes, they even hand out little gifts like flowers to take home. Its those little extras that make the experience special and memorable.The location of this shop is good, too. Easily accessible for tourist and locals.

I can’t say enough great things about Bree (@artsyqueer) and her work! Let’s start with the shop first though. Such a cool aesthetic inside great for a selfie! I was greeted when I came in and welcomed into the space with a smile. I went and got three tattoos on my birthday 🥳. A little rabbit, a Pizza Love, and the symbol Kuumba added near a tattoo done by a different artist. Bree’s set up is clean, colorful, and professional!I was comfortable and relaxed. Bree took great care of me and not only listened to my voice but amplified it. This was by far one of my best tattoo experiences so far. Every health and safety precaution was taken and the space was neat during my session. I was given aftercare instructions and went on my merry birthday way with fresh ink. I’m already planning to go back to see Bree again! MTC has some great artists! You’re sure to find one whose energy, vibe, & style matches your inks desire. ♥️ Most def give them a try.

Went to Bree for an arm tattoo and she was so nice and her energy was so welcoming and chill.Her line work is amazing and shes really considerate while tattooing, checking on you if you need a break, water, etc.Would def recommend, 10/10 ✨

Selfishly, Im so happy that Bree has joined this team of capable artists!Bree is so much closer to my place of residence & now I feel like I need a tattoo seasonally! Brees space is a vibe, from the plants to the Funko Pops... I got snacks, too!They are in the heart of Greektown & if you are sober or drunk, you should pull up for some permanent ink! Someone will help, I am sure, but I highly recommend Bree!

Not only is the location phenomenal and the shop super dope but the amount of due diligence, time, care, and honesty that Bree took within creating and giving me one of my all-time favorite tattoos is the reason y’all should definitely get ink at MTC!

Brees space was clean and welcoming. She had water and some snacks. There was a floral flash event, so I got a beautiful bouquet and beautiful piece. Definitely coming back.

When my wife and I moved back to Detroit from LA after being gone for 8 years, we were hoping to find a tattoo shop/artist that we love and after visiting Motown Tattoo Company and getting several tattoos by Bree, I would say we have found our spot! Our experience has been nothing but positive and I am ready for my next tattoo!

Just got my first tattoo from Bree. She was very patient and understanding with me and did an amazing job on the tattoo itself. I will definitely be going back and recommending her to friends.

I dont understand the reviews. Ive came here on 3 different occasions and has never been services. Today on Bday trying to spend some money, I was told that i a tattoo isnt something you should just wake up to get. Young man i am 43 years old with 7 tattoos...... Maybe i looked like i wanted some hearts or whatever.. i just know i have never had this issue outside the city.Ridiculous business method. Never again.

Mike is one of the best artists we’ve come across. He takes his time to listen to what you need & takes time executing it as well. We are very impressed with the shop and Mike overall and we will be back. I’ll post a picture of these perfect lines when this heals. Don’t go anywhere else!

Had a great experience! The staff are so cool and make you feel comfortable. I got a tattoo redone that I got some years back. I live this new design way more. Make sure you ask for @tattoos_by_teague (Instagram handle) he’s awesome and a true artist!

We can not say enough about our experience at Motown tattoo and our artist Mike! My husband travels a few times a year for work and we get tattoos on every trip. I usually get the crabby person who is bored by my ideas. This was far from the case! Mike was so awesome in helping me come up with the perfect piece to add my step sons name next to my boys. He took the time to look with me and made it fun. My husband wanted Skelator but a little different as our oldest son had recently had one done. Again Mike took the time to help customize a vision. It was a long afternoon but having an amazing artist who was so knowledgeable, kind and funny made the entire experience. Looking at Mikes work we were blown away and felt silly having simple pieces done by such a talented artist. However we called on a Sunday for a walk in. The shop is so welcoming. All staff we encounterd were professional but fun. The cleanliness and precaution standards were top notch . If we are ever back in Detroit this will be a call we make in advance to return and see Mike again! Thank you Mike for an great experience! We could not be happier!

I called four times and on different days to check their piercing prices or if they did piercings (since piercings is listed in their services). No one picked up the phone (later came to find out there is no shop phone). But I went there anyways like a dummy, and the guy who answered the door was really nice and explained to me that they don’t do piercings, even though it’s listed in the services. I ended up going to the morang location and they did a great job, but I wish they had a shop phone or took piercings off their services page.

My experience was wonderful start to finish. The shop is clean and welcoming. My artist Bri is phenomenal. I got my 4th piece from her and will be back for many more.

If you want artists you can trust you should come here. I’ve been coming to Michael/Mike for a while now. He is very light handed when it comes to the tattoo and he makes sure the work that leaves his room is great quality. If you want custom work or have ideas but don’t know where to take them, bring them here! Can’t wait for my next tattoo!

My boyfriend and I spontaneously decided to get a couple tattoos for our one year anniversary, we parked and walked towards the shop easily. We had never heard of the shop but we wanted to give it a try when we were in town. We were greeted by Teague and we immediately knew he was the right person to tattoo the pieces we wanted. He was so kind and actually excited to do these for us. We vibed instantly and we scheduled a time and came in later that evening due to an appointment cancellation. Needless to say TEAUGE IS AMAZING at what he does. Not only is he a wonderful artist but he really cares about what he does and I’d go back again and recommend him to anyone in the area.

I love this place such a clean, professional comfortable environment. I’ve gotten a few tattoos done by Tracey he did a cover up for me that turned out absolutely beautiful!! Tracey is an amazing artist he really takes his time to make sure you are happy I will definitely be back soon!

I got my nose pierced today and bought an additional nose ring for my other nose piercing. Customer service is great here. I highly recommend them. My sister also got here nose repierced today as well and she loved the customer service

This was my first tatto. Tracy was my artist. He made me feel really calm and comfortable. He walked my through the whole process and made sure I was confident in the tattoo and the placement. Will definitely get another one done here.

Tracey Teague did a tattoo for me last night. he was very professional and made the experience fun with music and jokes. Also he has a very lite hand when tattooing and made the experience pain free. Would definitely recommend for a tattoo!!

I saw Tray and was so impressed with his attention to detail and patience with me. I was nervous about being over particular, but he made me feel so comfortable to share my opinions and was so encouraging of it being a collaborative process. I am over the top impressed with his work!

I went for a walk-in with a group of four and Michael did every single one of us in one night! He was very nice and took his time to make sure we all got exactly what we wanted. He even let me play my own music on the speaker!

Tray teague did my rib tattoo. It being my first tattoo I was nervous AND skeptical of how it would turn out. I have nothing negative and my aunt w 10 tattoos alr had nothing negative either. I’m really happy w the whole experience.

Teague was very unprofessional. I scheduled an appointment a month out and upon arrival at my scheduled time he said he overbooked and I needed to reschedule for several hours later. He also said that he is not McDonalds and he’s only one person. I shared that he should probably take note from McDonalds. When working with consumers customer service matter! Even more so as a small business. Step your game up... his is not a good look!
