My teens and I had a great experience! The staff was so great! From checking in, picking out jewelry, to the actual piercing process! I felt very safe and informed. Kiara did all three of us and she was so fast and explained everything as she went. She really made the experience fun! I highly recommend!!

My daughter has been begging for a nose piercing forever and this weekend we finally agreed. She was so ecstatic and after searching around we decided on Modern Mods. East to find right next to Dillards on the lower level. When we arrived they were very busy. It was the weekend so we did anticipate a wait. There is a counter right when you walk on and a click and chairs to sit and wait if there’s room. We stood for quite a while trying to figure out if we were in the right spot to check in etc. After several minutes a woman came up and asked what we were wanting done and directed us to a long near the jewelry counters. Once we were helped we signed a waiver, I showed my ID since she is a minor and they went over pricing, jewelry and placement. From start to finish it was a great experience. The location was clean, bright and fun. Kiarra (the piercer) made my daughter feel comfortable and at ease. After she was done we went over how to clean and take care of and what to expect. Pricing was fair with the jewelry we picked etc. around $100 with tip.

Service is great from most of the girls!💕 but there is a girl here with two eye brow piercings, one on each brow, and curly long brownish black hair and bright blue yoga pants. She was extremely rude and rolled her eyes a few times while doing the piercing. She didn’t make me comfortable, I honestly wished I had someone else because the rest of the girls seemed so nice and sweet, She also made me feel like my questions were a inconvenience.

I’ve had several piercings done here and have always had the absolute best experience each time. The staff has always been incredible (the kind of people you just met but make you feel like you’ve known them for years), they have an amazing selection of top quality jewelry and the place is so clean! I will always always always recommend this place to anyone and everyone who asks about the best place to go for their piercing needs! I’ve literally brought two cousins and two sister in laws with me and now they go there too!

I came to Modern Mods Arrowhead today for the first time! I’d seen a lot of positive reviews when looking up shops around me so I decided to stop in to get my daith and septum done. It was a super quick process, from checking in to picking my jewelry to the actual piercing. I think I spent all of 25 minutes from walking in to getting to my car! I know that’s not what some people are looking for but, personally, I really want to just get pierced and get it over with! Hanging out and chatting just ramps up my anxiety, so I appreciated the efficient process. Stevie was my piercer and she was great! Confident, efficient, super friendly, and clearly knew what she was about. I was a smidge nervous about pricing because I’d seen some reviews of folks saying they were confused or they felt like it wasn’t transparent. That’s definitely not the case! The piercing menu with pricing is right up on the wall and the counter staff helping me pick jewelry was very clear about the up charge for upgraded jewelry. I was super comfortable there and had a great experience! I will definitely be back for more pokies in the future!

I’ve been to many places for piercings and this place is hands down THE BEST. Never had any issues with healing or anything, they have a huge selection of jewelry as well. They are very clean & knowledgeable. I use Stevie, Heather & Mimi when I go but all are great!

They were so kind and helpful! Answered all my questions and helped me pick a placement for my helix piercing that I liked. My ears are kinda curled at the edges all weird, so they were able to help me pick a place that fit the type of earring I wanted. Pain wasnt bad at all. It was obviously a little more expensive than Claires but it felt worth it to me 100%. I felt more relaxed and the place was super clean.

Its always busy but the staff moves fast and ensures everyone is taken care of. My bf and I took his daughter whos 7 to get her ears pierced and Stevie was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of her and made sure she felt comfortable and made the process easy, quick and painless. This is the 3rd time her ears got pierced and this is the only time shes kept them in, thanks again MM!

Had the WORST experience here with my daughter. False advertisement is an understatement. Was lied to about jewelry pricing, jewelry changing, as well as the piercing itself. My daughter came asking for a flat or faux rook, due to her anatomy they suggested a vertical helix but through the front since her ear is kind of flat. That was not what we got…also, warning, if you want a jewelry change it costs $40 if you don’t buy their jewelry… which starts at $60….just go somewhere else where they are competent and not liars

My daughters and I travel 3-4 hrs to get all our piercings done here. We have been customers for almost 5 years and always see Mimi 🔥. All the staff are super kind and knowledgeable in what they are doing. They are the only ones we recommend to friends & family. 💚🖤💚

They dont carry any jewelry other than plugs larger than 8g. The front counter employee did not know what a captive bead ring was. Ive never gotten a piercing here, but I also cant recommend buying your jewelry here, even in a pinch.Thats a bummer I wasnt provided more information about what you had in bigger sizes; I was told only plugs were available above 8g and I cannot wear a plug in this piercing. I would have been interested to see the 6g seamless if it was 16mm.

I took my 5 yr old in to get her ears pierced. The staff here is absolutely amazing. My little girl was very nervous and they were so caring with her. We almost left the shop with only one ear pierced!! The staff was extremely supportive and improvised in order to get the job done. This place and their staff are absolute GEMS!!

Today I had the absolute best experience getting my 3 month old daughter’s ears pierced! First off, it was so cool because I swear all of the staff in the shop were so freakin sweet, it seemed like they were all having a great day. It was so refreshing! Mimi did my daughter’s piercing and she was amazing, she took care to make sure both holes were even, but also worked quickly which was appreciated considering little people can’t stay still for too long. Overall it was great experience, and I love their texting waitlist system so you know exactly when to return to the shop. It allowed me to shop around a little, and get my other daughter a pretzel while we waited.

EDIT: Heather, the owner, and I spoke about the situation and she was quick to come to a resolution. She was apologetic and explained that the person who helped me the second time was new and needed further training. I also received a refund for my second purchase. I wasnt expecting that, but was pleasantly surprised. I am very impressed with her willingness to correct this for me and have updated my review to reflect specifically on her and how quickly she resolved this matter.I went here in early May to upsize my nipple jewelry. I had gotten them pierced a few weeks prior (from a different place in another state) and realized I needed bigger bars. My husband asked for internally threaded titanium, which is what we thought we got. I went back again a few weeks ago to get a smaller size because they now are at the point of needing downsized, and my original jewelry I was pierced with is still too small. We got the next size down, again asked for internally threaded. I just bought the jewelry that day but didnt have the shop change them. My husband went to change them out tonight and saw that the original bars we purchased from here was externally threaded, which would explain why I felt discomfort with the jewelry change. Also, the new bars they sold us are externally threaded. Now I have to purchase new bars (never from here again) and go somewhere to have them changed. Otherwise, Im just going to shred my nipples.They either flat out lied to us about the jewelry they sold us twice or they have no idea what they are doing.

I normally go to Modern Mods everytime I want a new piercing or need assistance with my previous piercings. I have gotten everything from my belly button, nose, and lobes pierced at this location. I’ve never had a problem with anything and neither have my family members who have also had multiple services done here. I work in the mall 6 out of 7 days a week and I would recommend this place night and day.However, my experience today changed my perspective. I walked in today with my friend to get her belly button pierced and I was thinking about getting my conch done. The blonde girl working the jewelry counter proceeded to treat my friend and I as if we were clueless. I told her that I was looking to get a conch piercing and she stared at us both as if we didn’t know what we were asking for. After repeating a couple of times that I wanted a conch piercing, it seemed as though it was out of her way and annoying to her that she had to help us. I asked to see the selection of jewelry because I wanted to see my options before committing to the piercing, and again she made it seem like we were an inconvenience to her. After she pulled out the minimal options I agreed on getting a small gold ball earring and she continued to look at us confused and clueless and said the wait for going to be two hours. I had no problem waiting as I work in the mall and understand they get busy since it is a busier mall, but I decided to cancel my appointment after 15 minutes of waiting because I couldn’t overlook the way I was treated while simply asking for options and a service.The person piercing today, Cole, was very amazing to my friend and I, we had no problems with her and she treated us perfect. I am disappointed with the way I was treated because I have been going here for years. The girls at the jewelry counter are the first people you see and interact with, and it sets the tone and mood for your whole experience. I would have loved to get my conch pierced but I did not appreciate getting treated as if I had no idea what I was asking for. I love going here but my experience tonight was something that really changed my mind about my piercing location options.

I have heard great things about this shop and decided to get my belly button re pierced. Madison did it for me and she was amazing! Nothing like the first time i had it pierced. She was extremely quick and a painless experience! They were able to get me in within 15 minutes. Highly recommend going here!

Madi is an absolute gem! She is fantastic and has such a sweet personality. She had such good ideas when it came to ear curation and put my mind at ease when it came to piercing my daith and tragus. Come and see her for all your piercing and blingy needs!!!!

This store took what was supposed to be a positive experience and absolutely ruined it.I brought my 4 year old in here to get her ears pierced!! It was explained to me before her ears were pierced that the piercing for a child under five was $60, and that upgraded earrings could be purchased for an additional fee.There was one rack of earrings that was included in the $60, a rack of titanium pairs made the lobe piercings $100, and a rack of 14k gold sets that would make the lobe piercings $200.Turns out, the upgrades don’t include the piercing. So the titanium upgraded set would’ve made my total $160, and the gold set made my total $260. Not a huge deal, but would’ve been nice to have known that upfront. Never, ever was $260 stated by any staff member.I’m fairly confident that this issue happens often, and that they’re not clearly explaining it because before she put the earrings in my daughter, she even explained to me that the upgraded price would be $100 per ear.During checkout, the girl was so argumentative about the upgrade price, even though I was completely willing to pay for it that she didn’t even give me any of the aftercare instructions for my daughter’s ears..She even argued with me about it AFTER payment had been made cutting me off and trying to explain why she was right. I’m not positive at this point why she didn’t offer to go get a manager or supervisor, because that would’ve been the correct thing to do. She was extremely frustrated and projecting on both myself and my husband after we had already paid about the pricing. We left mid argument because we were so uncomfortable AND left a tip despite her absolute horrible customer service.One of the oddest things about this place is the way that they respond to reviews. Go look at them. Anything negative is instantly blamed on the customer, they take 0 accountability. They instantly blame the customer and try and make it seem like absolutely nothing that they did was incorrect or confusing.It’s also worth mentioning, this store prides themselves on offering a 10% military discount, buttttt when we got to the front counter, it was only THEN explained that that 10% only comes off the “service charge”. So instead of $26 off my daughter’s ears, it was $6..I highly suggest you find a different location for all piercings. Not only was the customer service, greatly lacking, but our piercer was rude, and upon leaving we noticed a pretty nasty gnat infestation.. wonder if the health department has been out here lately?

I had such an awesome experience I had to write a rewrite. I was so nervous to get my ears re-pierced as they had closed after having reactions to different earrings. They use surgical steel here, which I heard is really great for preventing your ears from rejecting the jewelry.When we came in to sign the waivers and pick out the earrings we wanted. We first encounter Iris, who was very sweet, funny and helped us make sure that we were picking out the best earrings for ourselves. Once it was time for us to pierce our ears, my friend, and I saw Cole, who was very warm and welcoming.She made sure to explain what she was doing, and everything was very clean and sanitary. Cole was very quick and I only felt mild pain. It has been two days since my ear piercing and I haven’t had any swelling or pain. I am very pleased with my piercing. 🤗

Modern mods was great! They were able to take me and my friend in same day within 30 minutes. They’re located in the mall so while you wait you can walk around until they text you. The only issue was the consultation. Felt a little rushed by the girl who was signing us up. Overall I would definitely recommend getting your piercings here. Got my 2nd piercings and my helix pierced.

I have been with modern mods now for a bit over a year and I’ve always loved going to them. Love to see my favorite piercer (Kiarra) she is so kind and patient with all of her clients. She did my friend’s piercings yesterday and was the best. Always makes me feel welcomed when I come.

I love this place!! I’ve been multiple times and gotten 8 piercing here. I’ve never had a problem with jewelry or communication and they always make sure I’m taken care of. It’s always been a quick and painless process and I’ve never had any complaints !! Stevie has done majority of my piercings, including my navel and surface tragus and I would come back to her in a heartbeat. She always thoroughly explained the aftercare process and I would highly recommend her! They’re also really good at answering any questions you have. I’ve called before and asked about piercings I already have and they’ve been nothing but polite and informative with their responses. I’ve even brought my friends here and they talk about how amazing their experience was. I would highly recommend checking out Modern Mods!!!!Edit: I just went in to get my surface tragus removed and my conch pierced. Kiarra was the best and was very quick about everything. I would highly recommend her!!

While on vacation in AZ I decided to get some piercings and Modern Mods was recommended by a friend. I had the best experience with Stevie for my piercings. I had scar tissue from previous piercings I had done and she effortlessly repierced the area. I can easily say this was the fastest, smoothest and most professional experience Ive had with body piercings. Highly recommend this piercing studio. Love the cute little beta out front!

Everyone I know recommended this place to get my baby girls ears pierced. Overall, it was a great experience. It wasnt too long of a wait, and they had a couple of earrings options to choose from. It was nice to walk around the mall afterwards while feeding her a bottle after her piercings.

Ive had 2 very unpleasant visits here and will never come back.Piercing quality is great, associates are very kind and knowledgeable. Never had any problems with healing, came back to downsize jewelry & was always greeted with a smile.However, there are a few questionable employees who talk demeaningly about their customers- the worst of which is actually one of the head piercers. They go in back in an office thats not even closed and gossip.People of all walks of life come to piercers to compliment their body image & be happier with who they are. It should be a truly positive environment & experience- not one thats judgemental within earshot of customers.

Very aggravating when I call the day before to inquire about a piercing, their website clearly states they do NOT do appointments and the person I spoke to told me to go in on specific days for specific piercers so I did, I show up just be told to make an appointment or to show up on a different day after coming all the way from Tolleson to this location. Clearly not everyone is on the same page and this experience was just a waste of time and gas and I definitely will never come back to this place.

We had above and beyond the best experience with Kelly! My daughter had her first ear piercing and Kelly was meticulous and clearly a highly skilled professional. We actually went to a different piercing store earlier this day and the piercer there was having major complications with a piercing and not handling it well and my daughter was her next client. It was clear we needed to go elsewhere and so the day was already not going as planned. Kelly turned our day right around and made it a lovely experience. It was a simple ear lobe piercing and she treated it just as important as a more complicated area. She is truly an artist and takes pride in her work. This is the only place I’ll ever recommend!

This place is amazing. They took great care of my fiance. Kiarra was phenomenal. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully Kiarra will be working at that point.

Stevie is your girl. Actually everyone in there Kelly, Stevie, Becca, and the rest of the staff are AMAZINZING. I have gotten 17+ piercings there and every single one has been an absolute positive experience. They care. If you have an issue and go in they take care of you I have even had custom pieces ordered. I absolutely love them!!

My 5 year old decided she wanted her ears pierced for her birthday. I didnt want to go to a place that used a gun because they are gross. I asked a friend where they went and the said Modern Mods at arrowhead mall. We had to wait a little but because they were super busy, but they told us to walk around the mall and they would text when it was our turn. Plus in my book since I had 3 kids in tow. Then we went back and Kairra called for her. She was a great piercer! She told my daughter everything she was going to do before it happened and tested ot out on her so she would know how it felt. She gave her a stuffed doll to hug and pumped her up before doing anything. She was AMAZING with her! She did it so fast my daughter didnt even shed a tear. She gave all my kids a candy afterwards! Great place to get little kids ear piercing and you dont have to worry about a teenager shooting an earing thru your childs ear! Highly recommended!! Great job Modern Mods:)

Ya’ll- I flew all the way back from Nashville-JUST to have my beautiful boss babe Kiarra redo my lower back dermals for me and SHE DELIVERED. She is the absolute best piercer and makes you feel completely comfortable through the entire process. Kiarra has a bubbly, friendly personality that is sure to have you leaving with a smile on your face! Modern Mods is an extremely cleanly, unique shop that strives to provide the best experiences and has you excited to come back for more. 10/10 recommend Modern Mods and Kiarra for all of your piercing needs!!

Frustrated. Went to replace a helix for one with a shorter post. Less than 24 hrs later it broke. I went back and after about 30 minutes trying to figure out if it could be refunded or not and picking out a replacement (this length of time isnt an issue, the lady was super nice), and being told that they would put it in for free really quick they then said I had to wait 30-45 minutes. I had just drove 30 minutes to replace faulty jewelery, another 30 minutes navigating the return and being told they would change the jewelry really quick, then another 30-45 min? I said forget it, Ill put it in myself and then they didnt even give me the right post. Im not driving another 30 min. there and back to get the right one. So basically, $80 wasted .

I had great experience here. Went to get my earlobes pierced yesterday. It was quick and not really painful. I have port wine stain on my earlobe. So I was worried that the piercing might hurt and I would bleed. But it’s all good. The pain level was like 1/10 for me.

Ive been here once before and had a great experience. This last time Im not sure who I saw but she was so matter of fact. No conversation and didnt talk to me about the type of earrings she put in. She must have assumed when she finished that I knew the protocol. She gave no explanation or information on after care.

The BEST experience!! I went to Kiarra a couple of weeks ago to redo my belly button piercing. I have scars on my belly button from previous surgeries, so I was scared of the healing time and the piercing location in general. She eased my concerns and talked me through the entire thing. It came out perfectly! Last week I decided to get my nipples pierced, but would only do it if Kiarra was working and could talk me through it again. I researched and researched until I almost backed out. I was told the pain was 10/10, you’ll see God, your soul will leave your body….all the things. The day I wanted to go, she wasn’t working and that decided my fate. I didn’t go. Today I decided let’s try one more time. I waited a week and still wanted it, I’m okay to lose my soul and see my maker. She was AMAZING!! Not only did she reassure me and make me feel better about it (also offered me water and allowed me to look and make sure it was what I wanted) but she was so FAST! Before I knew it, both rings were in and I was feeling great. Pain 3/10 - confidence 10/10!! Go do it!! Ask for Kiarra. You will not regret it!!

Im very irritated and disappointed at the service today . A blond sammy girl or what ever her name was lied to me . The same girl that answered the phone and told me she would make sure we got who we wanted which was the owner because the original girl was not in . I specifically asked for someone and then tried reminded her when we got in there , I did not want to say it in front of my daughter to not further stress her out about the whole thing . I wanted to have the owner pierce my daughter because its what we agreed on on the phone ,right before we made it there .Why did she bring out another girl to pierce her . By that time it was to late and i was not about to again repeat myself especially right in front of my daughter . It looks like my daughter got a NEW hole which I definitely don’t remember anyone asking was ok to put in in another spot . They didnt even have the correct size either which make the piercing look even more off! it was much bigger an didnt match the one on her other side . The girl looked like she was struggling with the piercing and im so pissed that my daughter cried the entire was home . She doesn’t like to complain about anything but as for me im completely disappointed. Hopefully i can find another place we can go to soon . That was so unprofessional.

Blown away with the cleanliness and professionalism. Took my daughter at 13 to get her Helix done, Kiarra was amazing, patient, and great with my daughter who has some anxiety issues. Overall excellent experience start to finish.

I went in to get a helix piercing. Month ago maybe a little over a month ago and my piercing never healed:( I have 7 piercing currently so I know how to care for them. I honestly believe the piercer used a short one. Looks more like a lip jewelry. I had to take it off ……. BUMMER

I took my 7 year old daughter here yesterday when they were super duper busy. I had SO many mommas recommend both of these locations for childrens ear piercings. I was nervous because my kid is really the type to freak out at the first ear and not allow the 2nd one to get done, throw a fit, etc. I wasnt sure if I was an A hole for putting that experience on a professional piercer 😭 I was blown away at our experience. They take every customers experience super seriously, they get it done quickly without you feeling rushed either. We had Heather and I just cant thank her enough for how she handled my daughter, I could tell she felt comfortable and reassured by Heather which is why she let her finish the job. I just cant thank her enough!! I think its more common for people to leave bad reviews and good experiences are also so important share. Theres a reason this place Is booked and busy, they have an incredible team of people 😇

I brought my daughter here to get her ears pierced (7) Best experience ever!!! She was nervous and worried and wasn’t used to a needle being used. (Piercing gun previously) She was so excited afterwards and the staff as a whole made it a very memorable experience for my daughter. Thank you Modern Mods🦾🦾🦾

Had a wonderful experience with Stevie piercing our daughter’s (6mo) ears this afternoon! Highly recommend if you’re looking for needle piercing!

My first visit, I got my second ears piercing here and the place was amazing. The staff was friendly, place was very clean.My second visit was for my 9 year old daughter. She got her ears pierced at ulta and the ear ring the used was too small and tight. It was very painful for her and the ear ring was pulling back into her ear. We came in to ask what we could do to fix them. We talked with Cole and she was amazing. She got done to my daughter level and explained what we needed to do and why. We were seen by Nickole who helped us remove her old earrings and replace them with longer ones. She was extremely patience with her even when she cried and talked her through the process. I would always recommend this place to anyone who wants to get a piercing.

This place rocks. The staff was super nice and helpful. I came in with a messed up piercing some other shop did and they helped me immediately fix the problem. Will come back for many piercings and jewelry.

The place is very clean and nicely set up.. the only thing i don’t like is that they don’t treat you like a human.. i felt more like a number going in.. it was quickly in and out (which was great) but idk at other piercing shops i feel like the piercer gets to know me.. and at modern mods it was piercing and paying and bye.. idk be more about your customers !

I’ve been here twice to have a dermal change. Love it. Haven’t had a piercing done there but definitely would. I don’t know the names of the people I have had but interactions with all employees have been excellent.Update:I had my daughter’s ears pierced here. She’s 4 and it has been a great experience. We did have to go back to have one earring put back in, because it fell out (not their fault) and it was still an exceptional experience. We have no problems healing or with infections. They were always kind and professional to both my daughter and I. Both the original piercer and the woman who helped us put the earring back in were sweet and kind to my daughter. All information is clearly explained from the start to finish.

I went to modern mods at the beginning January to get my nose pierced, and my second lobe. The people were nice and everything went well. I got a stud with a flat back. I spend like $120. Unfortunately after 2-3 weeks, the top of my stud fell out. So I went in and they were able to get me a new piece of jewelry and repierced it. The lady kind of struggled putting the new stud in, so it took a couple tries. But she didn’t charge me which was kind. After this I thought it wouldn’t fall out again. I even started wearing bandaids to sleep to secure it because I was scared it would fall out again. However, 2 weeks later to my surprise it fell out again. I went in for a second time to have them fix it. I ended up getting same lady as I previously did. I explained what happened and she was able to replace it. She told me that she curved the end of stud into the flat back to make sure it wouldn’t come out again. She charged me $50. I figured at this point it was good and it wouldn’t come out again. But this morning when I woke up, it had fallen out for the third time. I think the people are very nice, and I understand that things happen, but for my stud to fall out 3 separate times over the course of 2 months is ridiculous. I spend almost $200 with this place only to have my piercing fall out multiple times.

Love the staff they were very sweet people and understanding, probably the only reason Ill give 2 stars instead of one. For starters I kept going back in because on my ear the swelling just wouldnt go down for some reason I think I know why now, it wasnt properly pierced or something. I had my helix and the inner of my upper ear piered and connected with a chain, the gems holding the chains in place kept falling off requiring me to go in and have them put it back on which they didnt even sanitize. Then when I lost one because they KEPT falling off they put the wrong color gem on. I finally decided I should try and take it out not too long ago and put in something simple to try and help cause even after months of having the piercings they still would hurt. Swelling started to go down a bit but today as I was taking the jewelry out to clean it up properly my inner ear one struggled to come out and after cleaning I tried to put that one back in and the piercing immediately started bleeding and hurting again as well as having a lot of trouble putting the jewelry back in. My septum which I got when I got my ear piercings (nearly a year ago) still tends to hurt as well. Like I said the staff was sweet but I genuinely dont recommend going here. It has caused me a lot of trouble, stress, and anxiety. At this point Im just done with this place. They clearly messed up with a lot and if youre going to work at a piercing place at least make sure you know how to pierce properly.

The gentleman in the front that helped us was very knowledgeable and answered all of our concerns. He was also Bilingual which was a plus for us. We were very nervous for our child to get her ears pierced and he put us at ease. The young lady that pierced her ears was very professional and kind. She did a great and rapid job which made it almost painless for our daughter. We would recommend this place again. Unfortunately, I dont remember their names as I was super nervous but they did a great job. Thanks guys.

Mimi is wonderful!! She did my daith piercing, anodized my bat and placed it for me. She is patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. My friend ended up getting a daith as well and the whole process was a seamless, positive experience. The staff are so friendly and professional. I got my nose done and my daughter got her ears. I forgot the name of the girl who did them but she was amazing. I barely felt my nose being done and it was fast. They are very informative with after care and just with any questions you may have. Will be back again!

I took my 5 year old daughter to get her ears pierced, walked in realizing I had forgotten my ID. The manager Stevie was so kinda when she explained the reasons why and ID is needed (State law) which wasn’t a problem whatsoever! I ended up finding my ID in my car! Moving forward to the piercing, Jazz was our piercer and she was everything! She explained the entire process, was so sweet and gentle, and funny! I’d highly recommend this place! So professional, quick and easy!

I had been wanting to get my ears pierced for a long time, but never worked up the courage to go and get them done until now (Ive got a pretty childish needle phobia, even as an adult). Jazz was my piercer, and she was very kind and patient with me. She told me exactly what she was going to do before she did it, and gave me time to take some deep breaths and calm down between the first and second ears. The piercing itself was very quick, and although I still do hate needles, Im very happy with how they turned out!

Wow ! Fantastic!! Took my daughter to Modern Mods after it was recommended by several friends. They were absolutely FANTASTIC! My daughter is 12 and didnt even flinch. The earrings are very pretty and they had a nice variety from which to choose. I HIGHLY recommend. So glad I asked before just going to another place (but I wasnt really comfortable going to in the first place). I was so nervous to get my septum done, but every single employee in this store was so kind and friendly, that it completely calmed my nerves. There were some issues with finding the sweet spot, but my piercer made sure to take her time and not rush the piercing. She helped me calm down, and it turned out great! I really appreciate her taking her time to make sure the piercing is in the right spot. The store is so clean and you just feel comfortable and safe. Will absolutely be going back!

Would absolutely not recommend getting pierced here. I took my daughter in on her birthday to get two piercings, one in her nose and one in her bellybutton. Normally I go to a tattoo shop but due to the great reviews, I decided to give this place a shot. The piece of jewelry that was put in her bellybutton was extremely short, and it was pierced very high up. We did not receive a pamphlet with instructions and were told by the piercer if there were any issues to please reach out to her on Instagram. About a week later, my daughter reached out to her on Instagram because the jewelry was actually digging into her stomach because it was too short. It took the piercer a week to get back to her , and by that time I had instructed my daughter to take her piercing out in the meantime because the ball was starting to move through the actual piercing. When the piercer finally got back to her, she said because we took it out There is nothing they can do about it. I called the store and spoke with a manager however, it was hard to get a word in edgewise, she was very defensive. It was a waste of $50 and now my daughter needs to heal up and I will take her to a tattoo shop where they pierce correctly. My older daughter also had issues with her cartilage that was pierced there, and they were quite rude about it when she returned to the store . My recommendations go to a tattoo shop that is reputable and will do a good job. I should have went with my gut and taken her there in the first place. I will say her nose was done correctly, but extremely disappointed in the placement and size of jewelry that was used for her bellybutton. I have never in my life seeing a bellybutton piercing that was pierced that high up, and as a piercer, you should know to use the appropriate size jewelry With the anticipation of normal swelling.Editing to respond to response.We actually did purchase the aftercare foaming cleanser, and were told by the piercer herself two times a day one pumps one on top and one on bottom. We did not opt out of aftercare purchase or instructions. We did not receive a pamphlet whether I am consistently told we did or not, and we were never told to come back for bigger, jewelry, nor should we have to come back for bigger jewelry. My daughter was not over swollen , by any means it was normal swelling and due to the jewelry being too short, the ball started to go through the piercing. I had chosen to take matters into my own hands and have her remove The piercing so the ball didn’t go completely through her stomach.When I called to speak with the manager, I was asked questions, and within two words coming out of my mouth, I was interrupted Therefore, I ended the conversation and will just be taking the loss of my money and taking her somewhere else.From some other reviews that I had to dig to find, seems like this is a common issue

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I went here about a year ago to get my nose studs switched out, that was a great simple process but this review is about my latest piercing with Kiarra! I got my nipples pierced and she did such an amazing job and made me feel so comfortable. I was nervous about the whole process taking off my shirt and she made me feel so safe and pierced them so well I barely felt it! Just like a little pinch! She answered every question I had and I really appreciate how kind she was. I love how she described the pain to me before getting pierced and told me what to expect with the healing process. DO NOT COME HERE. This is worth the read for your safety. I was unsure whether or not to leave a review but the more and more I think about it, my experience should be shared. I have 14 piercings and this experience was the worst one yet. I got a nose piercing (first facial piercing) January 2023 at Arrowhead Modern Mods. All went well until late August 2023 rolls around. By the time of August I had changed my jewelry already from a flat back (standard) to a corkscrew from a different piercing shop. My corkscrew jewelry was doing super well, even doing better than the flat back. The reasoning as to why I came back to Modern Mods was to have a wider selection of corkscrew jewelry for my nose. The interaction started by me at the jewelry counter , the lady “helping me” was super brief and rude. Should of been the first red flag. I was asking questions and which options they had and she just wasn’t very responsive. Questioning, I picked out the jewelry I liked and paid for it. She then told me they could switch it out for me for free.I agreed, and that’s when things took a turn for the worst. The girl who changed my jewelry was named Laayn. She was super nice at first . I explained I just wanted it switched. She said she could do that for me. She slid the needle through my nose to guide the corkscrew into my nose. She misses. Then again. She misses. Then again and again and again. By this point my eyes are watering profusely, my face is hot, and it feels like I could pass out. I told her exactly “ Hey I don’t think this is going to work, let’s stop trying”. She insisted on continuing to slide this needle through my nose over and over again. “I almost have it”. She said. I want to say it happened a total for 10 times. I was beyond lost for words. I left angry. My friend was with me as a bystander, she could tell you these exact events happened. She told me my nose was swollen so she “couldn’t”. But the reason it was swollen was because of her. The worst part of it all, I went home and slide the corkscrew in my nose the first try. So much unnecessary pain and embarrassment. They need to have a serious talk that this is not okay and SO unprofessional. My nose grew a huge irritation bump because of this. There is no excuse for this behavior.

Been here a couple times with my daughter, but I needed some advice about my daith piercing. Raelyn was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a new piece of jewelry to better suit my 10 year iold piercing. She was quick and I barely felt her change the pieces out. Shes awesome!

The customer service is amazing, everyone was extremely nice and it was a great experience for my first piercings. I got vertical snake bites. The reason my review isnt 5 stars is cause my piercings did heal very uneven, I paid 100 dollars plus a 20 dollar tip, Im disappointed but im not mad.

I went in to the store to replace a stud that went missing. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I wish I got the name of the woman who helped me but she was AWESOME. 10/10 would come back for any piercing/jewelry needs. She was also very knowledgeable about the different types of jewelry (both style and material) and was able to fit me with something that worked.

Super clean. Everything was sterilized. Very professional staff. Very nicely decorated. Was very satisfied with my piercing. My piercer was super friendly and made it painless. But overall, I was very impressed with the cleanliness and the sterilization process of the jewelry before they put it on my body.

I came here because my Medusa piercing was embedded and the girls here took amazing care of me. I was so pleasantly surprised at how amazing and kind they all were because I feel like it’s hard to get that type of service these days. I was greeted right away and sat and the wait wasn’t bad at all- Mimi is the one who actually fixed the embedded piercing and she was amazing and was able to have me keep the piercing in, fixed it and didn’t even charge me. She was extremely gentle and always making sure I was okay. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Had such a nice visit here today! I went in with questions about an industrial piercing, but throughout my visit, we settled on a different setup that would complement my ear shape more. I so appreciated the confidence and patience from both Heather and Mimi! The shop was a little busy but clients (those in line and those in the chair) were greeted with efficiency and care! I never write reviews but I have gotten 4 piercings here and its always been amazing! I had some complications with my helix healing and they took such good care of me. Ive been with Mimi, Stevie, and Heather (Heathers the owner and shes so nice!!), they are really professional and always care for their customers and I always recommend them. They are so easy to have a conversation with and just make me feel super comfortable when I go in for a piercing. I currently have a piercing bump on my 3-month conch piercing (It takes 6-8 months to heal so Im not surprised by a piercing bump, theyre super common) but I called them to ask for advice and they were so informative and really helped me treat it and its almost fully gone now!

I loved the piercer she did a great job. But Im a bit annoyed with their rules. I took my second daughter to get her first ears peirce. The person who peirced them was great. But when I first got there, I asked if they could put the earing with a flat backing. Looks like they brought the owner to me to explain why they cant. That they only do it to 10 year old and over. (My first daughter got these from where we used to live and was 3, also.) It was not a problem, and she did great. I couldnt explain that to the owner because she rudely spoke over me. She said we can come back to get it repierced with the flat back. Which ment more money.The next day, when I was getting her ready for bed, it was gone. She still had it until 2 pm. Ive been cleaning them, so Ive been keeping an eye on them. I called them and they replaced them with no problem. Im glad they did that, there was no pain. 2 days later, the other side got lost. She had to have lost it with in the last hr because I took a picture of her and she still had them. I can go back and get it done again but shes already turn in for bed. I dont want go the next day because its a dive for us just for 1 earing. We had paid extra for it too. This is why I did want to butterfly backing. Mine comes off all the time with those. I had to use one of mine for now, she did well with me placing it back. I just wish they didnt go against my wishes. I know she would have done well, just like my first.

Tried to get my helix done here because I was told how amazing they are and affordable. Well my normal shop was $80, here it was $50. But wait, my shop ONLY uses titanium, they will not pierce with anything but. Here there is a $30 upcharge to go from surgical steel to titanium. So its back at $80 again. So I planned on still getting it done, told them I wanted a normal stud, just a ball on the end of it because I will be doing a hoop when I can replace it. So yes normal stud, told the employee I wanted titanium and wanted it anodized. Well she looks confused comes back with another employee who pulls out studs with all colors of fake diamonds and says well yeah we can anodize that, you may see the stem.Yep you heard that right, they dont carry plain studs in titanium...Why didnt they tell me that when I called. I asked How much is a helix? $50Is that with titanium? NoHow much is titanium? $30Do you anodize? YesI have now given all the info they should need to say, well our titanium studs arent really worth anodizing due to the gem. Or something?Now yes I believe they have titanium in like the cutesy ones. But nope sorry not for me.Why dont you have plain studs in titanium? So honestly I decided to give them an average because I have heard good things, there were a lot of people waiting. So they have to be AT LEAST average, I did knock one star for not having basic titanium jewelry... They do realize more than just women get their helix done? I want probably 2 more in my helix.Im sorry for the harsh review, I really am. But I work in a hospital, around MRIs. You know the things that are GIANT MAGNETS? Surgical Steel can be magnetic, its normally not! But it just takes one time. Also titanium is just so much better! You cant anodize surgical steel! Idk why more people dont get all their piercings in matching anodized titanium...

While picking out earrings for my child, I was told the earrings were 14k gold. They charged me $75 for one earring and gave me half off the other side ($37.50). Total came out to be $122.85 of the pair (small titanium stud earrings). Please dont lie to your customers that theyre buying gold earrings when the earrings are NOT fully gold. If the earrings did not fall out by itself, then I would have not notice the lies they tell their customers to make them think that they bought gold earrings and got fake ones (titanium). Thankfully, they gave me a full refund on the earrings. I bought my child real 14k gold earrings at JC Penney for half the price that they charge for their fake gold.If they were honest, I wouldnt have been upset. Dont just take someone by their words. Do your research. I just want parents or customers to be extra careful when buying jewelry. Check the earrings to make sure theyre real gold.

Always have a good experience here. Every piercer(Ive had a different one every time Ive gone) is super professional. They check and double check and triple check the positioning before they pierce and I really appreciate that extra sense of assurance. The place is always super clean and they make sure to wipe everything down between customers. The entire staff seems super cool and down to earth and they make you feel super comfortable from the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out.

My daughter had Two piercings done at the arrowhead location, The staff went out of their way to make sure she knew everything they were doing, They went over care instructions & were very clear so she understood. One of her piercings needed some extra care, the jewelry she had just wasnt allowing it to heal properly, when My daughter reached out with the concerns she had, the staff took their time to explain everything and helped her find what she needed,with such care, when she was leaving they made sure to ask again if she needed them to go over it again & made sure she knew if she had any other questions to please ask.Id highly recommend Modern mods to anyone & Id never take my children anywhere else to get Piercings.

The people here are lovely! I went in for a daith piercing, and they made it quick and easy. They were all so kind. I even had questions about other piercings (not performed here) that had been giving me trouble recently, and they were so kind to give me advice on those as well. My piercer was Mimi, and she was just great to chat with. She made me feel welcome and answered all kinds of questions I had without talking to me like I was stupid. Im definitely planning to go back for my other ear soon!

I would like to start this with, I’ve gotten my tongue, smiley, septum, naval, bridge, and nose done by modern mods. Everything has gone smoothly enough until I got my nose done. To start, when I got my nose done everything went fine until she installed my jewelry. My right side when in smooth and all the was well until we got to my left side. The bar went in smooth until she dropped the ball down my shirt. I was not upset by her dropping the ball we are all human and we are bound to make human mistakes. My discrepancy lies with the ball she put in my bar. I’m not sure why but the ball would not stop falling out to the point I had to tape it in my face until I was able to get new jewelry from some where else. If I hadn’t already had the experience I do now I would have wasted my money on this nose ring. Modern mods is lacking the extra care they need to be the best. Not to mention there are certain piercers you should definitely avoid.On too my next discrepancy, like I stated above I’ve also gotten my bridge done here. Everything went fine for the piercings itself I’d like to touch base on the piercers actions rather than the piercings itself. My piercer was Stevie Lee. I would not recommend anyone to use her as their piercer. During my session modern mode was very crowded because of the weekend which is totally normal. However, when Stevie was piercing me people were bumping into her. She proceeded to leave the needle in my face without going all the way through. You can only imagine the pain I was already in and for her to leave a needle half way in my face was worse. Don’t get me wrong I understand why she did it, but I would have rather her ask people to clear away from where she was with me or even moving me to a less crowded place. Not to mention the horrible customer service this woman has. She is blatantly rude and ignorant. Personally I’d rather deal with another woman than her but when I’ve asked to be set up with another piercer they have told me that they can’t do that and proceed to give me Stevie. This company lack personal responsibility as you can see by the “owners” responses to negative reviews and as I’m sure I will get when she gets to me. Personally I would go to a professional piercing shop rather than a piercings pop up shop that was my first mistake.

Awesome experience. Kelly was extremely helping in answering my inquiries beforehand and helping select jewelry. They have an extensive selection. Stevie, who did my piercing, was amazing. Very clear in describing the piercing process and cleaning directions. She asked multiple times if I had any questions which I appreciated. I will definitely be going back there for my next piercing(s).

Went to Arrowhead with no intention to get my piercing . As I stood outside the shop one of the girlies chanted “do it do it do it”. LOL I’m so glad she did that because I did - nothing crazy just my 3rd ear piercing BUT the experience and healing has been wonderful. I had previous gone to Piercing Pagoda a few years back and it was the worst experience. The girl pinched my ear so hard with the gun and the cheap jewelry irritated my skin. My ear would not heal so I had to let it close up. Out the money and had a lot of pain. I’m so glad coming here rectified that experience for me and it’s only been 24 hours and my ear feels great!! I will be back for more 😊.

I had a great experience here at modern mods. The entire staff was incredibly professional. I highly recommend using Mimi as your artist. Everyone is always so so helpful, extremely professional, and provide excellent care from your initial piercing all through your recovery process. I love this place! I returned about 2 weeks ago to get my nose pierced and to get my moms ears re-pierced for our birthdays. I absolutely loved that Kiarra was honest on the placement of my nose piercing and suggested that we pierce a little lower than where I had wanted to prevent it from constant movement! She walked my daughter through every single step before she did it, gave her an option of what stuffed animal to hold on to, demonstrated what the piercing would feel like, and cheered her on. This place is super busy all the time. I called to make an appointment, but they dont make appointments; walk-ins only. Im very disappointed because I live 60 miles west of this mall and would prefer an appointment rather than having to wait hours to meet with a licensed piercer. I wont return.

They did amazing! Everyone was so friendly and patient. I got my nose and helix pierced. The lady understood where I wanted them, and was so skilled, I barely felt them. They are both healing quickly, and only my helix is still a little sore (a week later). Very clean and professional!

I got my belly button pierced. So, everything was fine and dandy until she pierced me. The bar got lost in my stomach, the skin swelled (is what i was told) but in the video we have it literally looks like she lost the bar which is why I say that. It was extremely painful, and I do not recommend getting your belly button pierced here. They gave me a discount, for the troubles we had with the piercing. It’s now 2- 2 1/2 weeks later and i’m going to a different piercing place to get the bar changed because it’s not long enough and my piercing is extremely painful and irritated. 0/10 don’t recommend these people or this place. Take it from me and go to an actual tattoo place and do your research! Not to mention, they are overpriced, other places don’t charge as much as these people.

Walked in here last night in shame that I let myself get impatient went somewhere else and got nosed pierced and of course it got a keloid BAD ( no judgement from them at all) from Madison and Mimi at the front desk being so helpful finding me the correct jewelry to directing to another girl ( I forgot her name, shame on me ) but she changed it out and immediately I felt relief of the pressure, she was so informative of the whole process and kept asking if I was good from the painJust want to say all these ladies are 💯 and work as a team to make sure your experience is top notch !!!!!

Drove a long way to come here as the reviews were good and it looked like a nice place. Got to the jewelry counter and explained I wanted a navel piercing but had a tummy tuck a long time back, the girls immediately looked at each other and said the only employee they had that could pierce “a tummy tuck belly button” was the owner who was not there and turned me away. I was able to find another place down the street who had no issue piercing my belly button safely after making sure I had enough skin (just as anyone wanting a navel piercing should have), Very disappointed by the immediate rejection I received from the employees here. Mean girl energy.

However, the climate was not there. Since an other employee arms length away, made an unnecessary comment. She didn’t think I heard her. When asked about my return it was assumed I had broken them and another employee proceeded to roll her eyes at me. Pretty passive aggressive response and unnecessarily headstrong. Our 4yo decided she was ready to get her ears pierced. When we called around to see where to go, everyone recommended Modern Mods. Our piercer was Heather and she was just superb!!! It was all sunshine and rainbows for our daughter until the first needle went in, but Heather was so encouraging, upbeat and doing all she could to calm our daughter. First let me start by saying the team at Modern Mods Arrowhead is nothing like I have EVER experienced. This group of talented ladies treats everyone kind and professional while keeping the environment fun and spunky. I saw customers from little children to adult females and males all leaving extremely satisfied with the service they got. YES even the littles were satisfied as they left with a cool certificate, an hug from the piercer and a lollipop of their choosing. During my visit there was one point a line was forming out of the door when a young lady ending her shift, was saying good bye to her fellow piercers. When she turned the corner she noticed the line, She IMMEDIATELY put her bags in the back and came right back to the front desk to help the clients waiting patiently in line. This is RARE in a world full of hating our jobs and being burnt out. Heathers staff at Modern Mods shows they genuinely love what they do and love the clients and bonds they make. Wonderful experience! I took my 2 year old and 3 month old to get their ears pierced. The girls dis such a wonderful job and my two year old barely even flinched. I would recommend this place to anyone that asks!

The staff was nice and efficient. Things really picked up when I was greeted by Cole. She was so friendly and personable it was almost like I was sitting at a friends house discussing life while I was getting my piercing. It was quick and painless, and the instructions were clear as she advised me throughout the entire process. If you can make it on a weekday go because you may miss the crowd cause this place was jumping. But ask for Cole. Shes a gem.

Great piercing experience. I had about a 15 minute wait and liked that I could walk around the mall and they texted when they were ready. Long wait, but totally worth it! First time getting a piercing here and I would definitely come back and recommend to friends and family or anyone who’s looking to get jewelry on their body. I am so impressed with this spot. The level of customer service and how it’s operated is amazing! The piercers are professional, knowledgeable and not to mention all Women and extremely personable. I was pierced by the co-owner and she was so good. I had my vertical labret done and it was fast, not painful at all and straight. I can’t wait to go back so they can do my jewelry change.

They make the process of piercing, cleaning, so simple and nice. You feel comfortable and safe from infection there. They provided me with a list of aftercare options and they have some cleansing products there in addition to an array of material for people with sensitive skin which was cool. The vibe was nice and I was in and out in half an hour tops. I did my earlobe piercing, and even tho its the simplest, I feel that any other one would still go as smooth and quick bc their staff is top notch. My ex did her piercings there with her mom and had a great time as well. Recommend 10/10. This is THE place to pierce in the valley that you shouldnt have to worry about infection or injury from.

I was getting a septum piercing and loved all the beautiful options they had. Staff is patient and pulls out all your options and goes thru each one. I came in I believe last week Friday to do a septum piercing because my recent one was crooked and done through cartilage by another studio. Went in to speak to someone who immediately knew who could do my septum, Stevie was amazing and she said she’s done so many septum’s and I knew when she did mine that it came out perfectly! Was quick and fast and she made sure to get right into my sweet spot and snug. I’m very happy with the outcome and the healing process so far, not alot pain and not a lot of crusties like my old septum. Go to Modern Modz they are amazing and very professional! 🤘🏻

Mimi is the absolute best! Her knowledge and advice are consistent and helpful. Ive had other piercings done, but Modern Mods are fast and efficient, they take their time to make sure everything is right.

First, store is kept clean! Second, everything is well organized from when you walk in and check in, they ask for your name, your number and they text you when theyre ready to call you back. Third, all the staff is very friendly and welcoming with how they all smile. Even with it being the holidays and the store being busy, they were quick to call my daughter back. While we waited there was a little girl getting her ears pierced. She started crying after the first side was complete and didnt want to let the piercer finish the other side. The mom insisted that the daughter was getting the other side since they were there. The piercer kindly escorted them to the back where they werent seen up front by everyone and were able to let her calm down and wait until she was ready to pierce the other side. How considerate and respectful is that, not only to that family but to everyone else who was in the store. My daughter was pierced by Tysha who is so sweet, friendly and gentle! Normally my daughter, even though shes 14, likes to hold someones hand, she didnt even need to with Tysha, she felt comfortable and so brave. Her cart with the piercing items had everything laid out and placed so neatly. Tysha informed us on how to care for the piercing and offered us to purchase the cleansing solution. She walked us to the front after giving our son a sucker, again, so sweet and thoughtful and checked us out quickly. Checkout was quick and easy and we were on our way! Recommended Modern Mods and their staff any day!

Went here a couple of days ago the piercer I had, Stevie, was awesome. She did my noise piercing and she was fun, professional, and had a very sanitary work station. She was precise quick and very knowledgeable. Staff had such positive attitude great customer service and I would highly recommend this place for anyone getting a piercing.

I have taken my daughter to get her ears pierced twice at modern mods. The first time was by Angie and being that daughter was 5 at the time she eventually lost her jewelry resulting in it closing, however, the healing process went great. We went back to have Tysha do them a year later and my daughter felt comfortable the entire time with her and did not even cry which is very unlike my daughter. I also personally went to get my nipples pierced for second time (the first time was at another shop and I had a very bad healing process so ultimately took them out) by heather and my healing process this time was a piece of cake. I am officially fully healed and had 0 issues or pain like I did with my last piercings. Tysha has also done my conch piercing in my ear and my double piercings on my lobe. The service here is great every single time, the jewelry selection is beautiful, and all of the staff are educated and can easily answer any questions/concerns that are had. I won’t go to any other piercing shop!

Yesterday was my first time at Modern Mods but my daughter was the one that got her ears pierced. My daughter had alot of anxiety and probably took longer than it should have but Mimi was amazing with her she took her time and comforted. I went in almost a week ago to get my septum pierced. The place was very clean and chic. I had Mimi as my piercer and she was insanely nice! My experience was very fast and easy. I was surprised how quick it was, no longer than 10 minutes. I was also shocked on how affordable their prices were, a lot of places charge way too much but mine was only 50$ including jewelry! I’m very happy with my septum and the healing process has been very painless. I’ll definitely go here for future piercings!

Im in my 20s and I havent gotten a piercing since I was a toddler so I was definitely a bit nervous, but the whole staff was very nice and helpful. The signing in process was easy, picking the jewelry was easy, and in the end even getting pierced was easy! They walked me through the whole process and the after care and encourage everyone to give them a call with any questions afterwards. It was very obvious right from the get go the whole staff knew their stuff and care about your experience and it shows. Dont be wary because its in a mall, this is a quality place!

I went here to get a 1st and 2nd lobe piercing. I was nervous because it was a last minute decision. They were the best at customer service, they helped me pick out the best earrings and their jewelry is beautiful. Angie did the piercings on my ears, she was amazing. I actually only needed one because my other one was still open after 10 years and she knew that she didn’t have to pierce it again, I appreciated that. She did such a great job, I barely felt it. My 8 month old and I had a great experience at the Arrowhead location Modern Mods. Definitely coming back in the future for more piercings, highly recommend. They are so friendly and professional here, we drive out from flagstaff its totally worth the drive! Thank you Heather for the great service!

This place was amazing!! i got 5 piercing done (they all look amazing) and when i felt lightheaded they all came over with water, fans and ice packs to help me!! i’m so grateful for them and i’ll definitely be going back and recommending to everyone
