Old West Tattoo

Myself and my group of 4 friends came to Old West Tattoo actually based on a recommendation of another tattoo location. We were so glad they sent us to OWT! Aaron, Joey and Tayler were the ultimate professionals and just a group of really nice guys. They made us feel welcomed and our tattoos turned out beautifully. We also enjoyed watching their piercer Ana handle her job like an absolute boss! All of them were knowledgeable and respectful and made everyone who walked in the doors feel welcomed. I would absolutely recommend Old West Tattoos to anyone!

Best piercing experience! I’ve worked with a lot of piercers over the years and Cooley was by far my favorite. He pierced my fourth lobes and took the time to make sure I was happy with the placement and both sides were even, and switched out a few other pieces to higher quality jewelry which was so much easier compared to past experiences. There were also SO many jewelry options to pick from and they all have a lifetime warranty!

Aaron did a great job of understanding my vision and making it even better than what I gave him to work with. Tattoo healed so nicely - easiest/fastest healing of all my tattoos. And his line work is so sharp. Im so happy with my experience and finished product. Will definitely be sticking with Aaron at Old West Tattoo for all my future needs.

Tayler did an amazing job from setting the appointment to completing my sleeve for me.Since I’ve moved back to AZ, I’ve had an unusually/unpleasant time finding an artist & shop (even with as many as there are in The Valley). Most of the shops I’ve visited don’t offer a fraction of what Old West Tattoo does from the minute you step in the door.Not to completely dismiss all shops in The Valley, but the majority of shops I’ve visited don’t welcome with hospitality, offer an artistic guidance, or provide the exceptional work they tend to set their prices at.Not only does Tayler & the team at Old West Tattoo do this effortlessly, they go above and BEYOND expectations when it comes to getting a tattoo. Setting a new standard in The Valley without even trying.The shop has an amazing classic western look, the team is beyond welcoming, providing a casual conversation & beyond exceptional service.Although I’ve done my work with Tayler, and will continue to in the future, the whole shop is full of talented individuals.I’d 100% recommend getting your work done here, save yourself the trouble of going to other shops because none will be able to compete to the level Old West Tattoo.

Ana is an amazing piercer! I got my septum pierced and the jewelry changed out by Ana - she was incredibly nimble with her hands and provided useful advice. I would absolutely love to get all my piercings done by Ana!

Ana has done a few piercings for me and friends over the past two years, and I keep coming back! Shes so great about easing any pre piercing scaries, and is funny, patient, and professional.

This shop is amazing! I’ve been tattooed/pierced by this shop for the past 7 years and followed them when they switched to the new location at old west tattoo! Not only are the quality of the tattoos amazing, but the overall experience as well. If you want a shop that is clean and professional this is the one! I’ve been tattooed by Aaron, Joey, Taylor, and Sam and their work never lets me down. Cooley has also done a piercing on me and is great at his work. This shop is amazing and i always recommend people get their tattoos/piercings done here.

I had an unfinished sleeve on my right side. I went into “old west tattoo” just to see if anyone was willing to work on it. I spoke with Joey about what I was kinda looking for. He had some great ideas, and time so I got it finished. Couldn’t be happier! Joey is the man! I will be back for sure in the future, and highly recommended OWT. The scorpion tattoo is the work of Joey Lopez. I couldnt be happier with how it turned out he is super nice and does great work! I love my piercer Ana more than words can describe. Shes not apologetic by nature because shes perfect! I cannot tear myself away from there because I want another good memory and something to keep forever! That happens to be hoops and a conversation with a wonderful friend. I love these guys and that gal! ❤️

Aaron was super chill from the minute we met to completion of the job. He was up front about time & cost and gracious when I requested a change to his beautifully designed lavender sprig. He was patient, and I was very comfortable. I highly recommend the shop!

TLDR: NICK WAS AMAZING, PRICE WAS HONEST AND UPFRONT! BEST PIERCER AROUND!!!Nick was simply amazing! I have had some pretty bad experiences with piercers trying to scam their customers. Many piecing shops I have gone to in the area, try to rip you off every step of the way.NOT NICK!! He was so helpful and did not try to upcharnge me and my wife. I wasn’t sure if I needed to get my bar replaced on my medusa piercing that I got from another shop. The other shop made me feel as if it had to be changed or else. Nick too a look and said it was perfect. He could’ve lied and said it needed a new one for more money but was honest and upfront with me. I got my septum piercing done with him and he wasted no time in asking if I had broken my noise or had any pervious surgeries. Which I had, he explained that it may be off centered due to my surgeries. He explained everything well and I felt like I was in good hands. He pierced it and it came out perfect!My wife got the other side of her nose pierced and Nick matched it perfectly. He kept making sure it was perfect.We both had an amazing time, he was professional, polite, and I will be getting pierced by him again. I wish I could give him more stars!!!

Ive been going to Cooley and Ana for years! They are both amazing!! Ive gotten plenty of new piercings from both of them along with going there to change out the difficult ones. They are very professional, know what theyre doing and I fully trust them with all piercing needs. The shop is always clean, great atmosphere and all the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Second time going to the shop this past Friday. Every experience has been awesome! The atmosphere is great, they make you feel well taken care of. Couldn’t recommend this shop more!

I go to old west for all my tattoos and piercings, everyone is so welcoming and it’s a really good atmosphere to be in!! Drake did all these tattoos!

I’ve gotten a decent amount of work at this shop now and I just love it. I’ve gotten tattoos from both Tayler and James, both of whom are super easy to talk to and amazing artists. Aaron always makes good conversation and asks me about my tattoos- it’s pretty cool when the shop owner compliments your work!Everyone here is so friendly, usually they’re all joking around with each other and it’s a very light hearted environment. Every person here is super talented and I would trust any of the artists to do a tattoo for me. If you are into American Traditional this is the place to be! Don’t be afraid to ask to look at their flash either- all of these artists have sick flash designs.

My friends been telling me for a year she wanted me to get my septum done so I said if shed pay Id get it done. Well she decided it was my Christmas gift and took me today! Went in and talked to Cooley he told me I had a deviated septum didnt even know I had one I always thought that was from illicit substance use nope!! 😅 just ment my nose holes had a odd shape and werent even. He explained that there were some concerns about getting the piercing to set evenly and look even. He helped me look through the jewelry which was a bit expensive but he found ones within my budget and small like I like without any judgment! But there jewelry also has a lifetime warranty any jewels fall out or get broken you can bring it back for free replacement so price makes sense and super good quality jewelry!! He really took his time to make sure the loop would look even and made it painless and quick!! Will be returning for more piercings and some tattoos!! 10/10 will Recommend!!!

I went to this shop. I really liked my artist - Aaron. The tattoo is perfect and didnt cost me an arm and leg. I will definitely be back and will refer family and friends here. 👏 👏

When my piercings that I got at another piercing location were giving me trouble, I decided to drive 35 minutes to here because I heard they were amazing and honestly that was an understatement!! Whenever I had questions or concerns, Ana was always there with no judgments and helped me through the process. Ive only been here twice yet my interactions with her will honestly stay by me for a long time, she was so lovely and helpful! I hope to be as positive of an influence in my profession that she is in hersEveryone was so nice and the environment is very relaxing. I cant even put into words how much Id recommend going here especially if youre a first time piercer. They will do you right.Thank you for everything!!

Great family and pet friendly. Nice atmosphere and we got my 15-year-old daughter a belly button ring. Cooley did a wonderful job. Made her feel comfortable. Us feel comfortable, very professional. I definitely recommend

I have been back several times because I can’t make up my damn mind what I want. Cooley took care of me every time and was very patient with me! He is genuine and professional! I trust him and won’t go anywhere else! He’s stuck with me now poor guy 😂

Went here for a piercing yesterday and had the best experience with Cooley! From the moment I walked in he was super knowledgeable and helpful. I could tell he is passionate and truly cares about his clients. I will definitely be back for all my future piercing needs. 10/10 reccomend!

Huge shout out to Nick for helping me get my nose ring back in! Had it out for an MRI and the hole closed almost completely in 2 hours. Nick was so helpful and kind and put the ring back in for me! Ive also had tattoos done here in the past and they are some of the BEST work Ive had done! I wouldnt trust anywhere else for tattoos! And now help with piercings!! Thank you!!

I had my dahlia bites done by Cooley! i had so much fun and he made sure i was comfortable and happy during the entire process. everyone in the shop was kind and friendly, they had an awesome variety of jewelry as well. i will definitely come back

I went for piercings and piercing advice on multiple occasions. Super helpful, kind, and knowledgeable staff with a very sanitary work environment and a separate small room for piercing procedures. Both piercers are great at what they do and the apprentice is quite helpful with advice or questions when he is there and a piercer is busy. They dont charge for changing jewelry out and have recommended they can make custom jewelry for a messed up industrial I had gotten elsewhere and did not want to get rid of. Pricing is great and they are definitely not out for your money like other places I have been to.

Aaron did a tattoo for me. Its the first ink Ive had in a long time. I am so pleased with the outcome. Finding the right talented artist was worth the wait! My piece is fantastic. I would highly recommend Old West. Very professional and clean! Ill be back for more.

I love the friendly environment with both the piercers and tattoo artists. Ive have received piercings by both Cooley and Anna, both exceptional jobs and cleanliness. I have received a tattoo by both Sam and Owen and their work is amazing, along with the others. Once you visit this shop, you will never go to another. HIGHLY recommend!

Been following them for years! Their shop cleanliness, professionalism, and staff keeps me coming back. This shop is filled with awesome people. Finally decided to get my nipples re-pierced on a whim after taking them out a couple years back. Chose the closest shop that mentioned the APP and headed that way. I was met by Nick who assisted Cooley in the process, and both were super nice and professional! Cooley was really chill and welcoming & made me feel incredibly comfortable throughout the process. Had some fun chit chat and learned he knew my original piercer back in NH which was cool! He was also super patient while I flip flopped back and forth between what new jewelry I wanted for an old cartilage piercing before we went back and did my new piercings. Overall had a really pleasant and professional and clean experience and will definitely be returning in the future.

I have gotten piercings done at 5 different places and this place takes the cake. My friend and I got some ear piercings done with Nick and Cooley, and they were super knowledgeable and careful with the placement and angle of the piercing. They really made us feel at ease throughout the visit and both of us came out extremely pleased with our new jewelry. I have never gone back to the same piercing shop twice but I think I may with Old West!

BEST PLACE IN THE ENTIRE VALLEY TO GET PIERCED AND SHOP FOR QUALITY JEWELRY!!! They have a great section of jewelry for pretty much any body piercing. Even their less expensive jewelry is very nice. Best piercer Cooley always takes great care of me, have never had a piercer take the time to make sure my piercing is done correctly and even!!

I had an issue with a tragus piercing I got done elsewhere, Ana was so sweet and helpful and she ended up unable to salvage the piercing. She is clearly super knowledgeable and made this whole rotten experience better, I will definitely be going to Ana for future piercings.

This is my absolute favorite tattoo shop I have ever been to. Everyone is so nice and does amazing tattoos. I have been there for 10 of my tattoos and never once hsve had a bad experience. I’ve seen 3 different artists now at Old West for 3 different tattoos and I can’t speak highly enough about all of them! Everyone here is super chill and talented and always does their best at what they do.

I went there a couple years back for a nose piercing. Mind you I have had my ears pierced so many times bc they always got infected (probs bc I went to Claire’s 😐). So I was nervous abt my nose being a bad experience but it has been my BEST piercing!! Ana did an amazing job! I am forever thankful for it! Now time to go back and get my tattoo!

Got my third tattoo here about 2 weeks ago. I absolutely love this shop. I always feel so welcomed and comfortable. My artist has been Sam. He is so detailed and I’ve gotten so many compliments on my tattoos that he’s done. The shop is always clean when I’ve gone. Making an appointment has always been super easy but they also take walk ins as well!

I love this place. Cooley is hands down the best piercer around. I had surgery and had to take alllllll of my piercings out. Lame he saw me the day before and changed all my hoops to posts so I could easily remove them right before my surgery. After my surgery (literally an hour after) he got me right in to put all my hoops back in. Quality of jewelry is the best. Atmosphere is the best and Cooley is the bestest! Absolute worst experience and we didn’t even get anything done. We were turned away and told to go elsewhere. My 16 year old made an appointment online to get pierced. We usually stick with HTC, but my daughter wanted them done today and our regular piercer at HTC was not available. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with hostility by Ana ( very old and balding with bad teeth) I was immediately uncomfortable with how stand offish she was. We let her know we made an appointment online and then she said “well let’s see what ID’s you brought in”. We presented our ID’s, with the same last names different addresses. Never ever have I had an issue at any other shop because of different addresses. With children who have two parents who are not together, as often happens, my child had a differing address than I did. Same last names, both Arizona licenses. I have a sneaking suspicion, that I could have presented this woman with DNA tests and birth certificates and she still would have turned us away. From the moment we walked in to the moment she told us, “ well then if I were you I’d go there then” (to htc) it was awful. I felt uncomfortable, judged and discriminated against and will never go back there. She offered no solutions or opportunities to collect other forms of ID, simply chased us off. Very rude, very unprofessional, I do not recommend dealing with the piercer Ana at all.

If you’re in the market for a high quality tattoo or piercing, check out Old West Tattoo! They are skilled in a variety of styles, but are especially passionate about American traditional. The shop is extremely clean, has friendly and talented artists, and the prices are fair for the quality. They are often busy (especially on weekends!) so it’s best to stop in expecting to make an appointment verses getting inked on the spot! You might get lucky though, because they do accept walk ins. I personally have only been tattooed by Aaron but I’ve had friends and family tatttooed by all of the artists, and they continue to come back for more art. In addition to tattoos I’ve also been pierced by Ana and Cooley. They are the best in the biz and take great care of their customers. I’ll only trust the folks at Old West Tattoo for my tattoo and piercing needs.

Aaron is an amazing tattoo artist! I love his creativity along with his wonderful personality. His input has made the pieces he has done for me even more beautiful than I could have anticipated. His staff of fellow tattoo artists along with Ana who does the piercings are all super talented and just an overall fun group of people. The shop is well run, clean, and you will be made to feel right at home. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

One of the best piercing experiences Ive ever had! I have an existing nose piercing that I havent had jewelry in for a few months, and I walked in and they helped me choose from a great selection and decide between a couple. So knowledgeable and nice, I will definitely be going back to get new piercings.

Great atmosphere! Got 2 lip piercings today with Ana and she was amazing. Ana was upfront about the possibilities of piercing healing time, risks, and scarring. She took her time adjusting the piercings, making sure both were to her and my standards. Definitely will come back for my future piercing needs :)

This was my first piercing at this shop, and it was the best experience I have ever had. Coming in I was a bit nervous, but I automatically felt so comfortable with how welcoming everyone is. I got a beautiful piercing preformed by Ana on Sunday a few weeks ago shes lovely, extremely skilled,knowledgeable and friendly. She keeps it real. It didnt even hurt and its healing really well. They even encourage you to message them on Instagram if you have any questions or concerns and they get back to you immediately. They have great very different high quality jewlrey that I havent seen anywhere else. Its a really nice shop very clean and they know whats up for sure.

Excellent tattoo shop with talented artists and piercers. Great clean atmosphere, not dirty or grungy nor intimidating like some shops. Aaron runs a great shop with friendly staff. Whether you are looking for an elaborate custom tattoo, a traditional piece of flash off the wall or even a designer piece of body jewelry, Old West Tattoo has you covered! I have had many tattoos done by several artists from this shop and they all turned out amazing.

I had a set of paired nostrils from another studio that were off a little bit so I stopped in to old west to see if changing the jewelry may help or if I needed to get them re-done. Cooley and Nick were incredibly helpful, patient, and kind. They switched out my jewelry a few times so I could see what it looked like & eventually we settled on taking it out. I will definitely be coming back to get it re-done. Can’t wait to see them again in a few weeks!

Been going to Joey for years, have multiple tattoos from him. All excellent pieces. He takes his time and is dedicated to his work. I appreciate you Joey! This shop has many talented artists, atmosphere is awesome and so are the people! I will continuously go back to this shop for the quality work and the great people!

We came in on a whim to ask about helping with missing piece on a nose piercing, front desk dude, guy with the pony tail, (sorry, bad with names) but he was super helpful and very polite. Ended up needing some dedication tattoos for my daughters and their crew, they lost a close friend recently. Called these guys up,and they were awesome! They did great work and none of that uncomfortable too cool to talk to you tattoo shop bs...This will be my go to shop from now on.

I have been going to Aaron for 2 Years now and my husband has seen Joey. The shop has a great vibe, I enjoy the conversations with all the staff everytime I am there. Tattoos are always high quality. Between my husband, myself, and some of our friends, we have tattoos from every artist there and all look amazing. Definitely recommend Old West Tattoo!

I had Cooley for my second appointment (about a month prior to this review) to get nipple piercings. He was kind, informative, and very reassuring to me as was Ana during my first visit.Unfortunately, while one piercing was correctly done at the base of the nipple and looks great without complication, the other piercing was done too deeply into my areola (as noted by another APP certified piercer). To quote him, he said hed never seen anything like it in his years of piercing when he saw how my areola began swallowing part of the ball. The flesh had begun protruding out of the piercing area so I ultimately decided on removing the faulty piercing as of today.I am sure others can and will definitely have a good experience here at Old West Tattoo, but Ive lost a lot of my confidence here due to my recent experience and respectfully can not personally recommend this for nipple piercings.For the management, I am willing to provide proof of what happened and can provide contact information to the piercer I mentioned in this review.

From walk-in to the end my experience was great! The team was willing to consult and figure out if they had the time for us. They were able to take my friend and I as a walk in on a Saturday and they killed it. We both love our tattoos, highly recommend coming here!

I went to bunwhalla tattoo on 41 ave and bell where cody f*****d up my double nostril piercings by giving me the shortest bars ever! I came into this shop panicking with my jewelry sinking in and Ana came to my rescue! She changed the bad jewelry out for me and made me feel so comfortable! She is fantastic and is super cool and sweet! I cant rate her highly enough and I will NEVER go anywhere else again! I HIGHLY suggest coming to her with any piercing you need! She will take excellent care of you!!!

Each time I have gone to Old West they have been welcoming and fun! I have gotten my ears pierced and new jewelry for my nose - they have such a great selection. I have also gotten some of my absolute favorite tattoos at this shop by Tayler, and I cant wait to come back for more!!

Ana was fantastic! Carefully placed the dots, had us inspect before actually piercing. She was so quick and painless my daughter was still waiting for her to start and she was already finished! Everything was top notch!

Oddly enough had my girlfriend book me an appointment with Cooley based off of recommendations from her friends. Her friends couldn’t have been more right! Cooley ended up being the one to greet me upon walking in for my appointment. He was very attentive and helpful in answering questions and and helpful in determining the proper jewelry for the initial piercing for healing time. Highly recommend.

Aaron has been my tattoo artist for almost close to a decade. In so many short words he has been awesome. I trust him with every tattoo I have gotten by him. And with every idea I have for a tattoo he has presented above and beyond what I could possibly imagine and even come up with in my own mind and brings it to life. He can design what you want and present you with something amazing. Definitely recommend him and honestly his whole crew he brings with him!

Got my nips peirced by Ana. What a riot of a person and I mean that in the best way. I came to see Cooley, but I think Ana was perfect. She eased any lingering discomfort immediately. I was a walk in and was in and out super fast. Highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for a high quality, clean, easy going shop. I cant add photos *wink wink* but after a week, I can report no problems with healing following instruction from Ana. :) Thank you, Ana. You did a wonderful job and hope to run into you again. You are amazing.

Love love love this place. I get so many compliments on my tattoos by Joey and am always having to give his info out or a card. And Cooley is THE BEST piercer ever. And I mean EVER. High quality and very professional. I made the mistake of going somewhere else for a tongue piercing and it came out crooked. Now I am going to have to ask Cooley to save me since I know he does such a great job. I will never trust anyone else with my piercings or jewelry ever again. You will not be sorry if you go here for a tattoo or piercing. You won’t find a better staff.

Aaron was accommodating for our Girls Tribe weekend and matching tattoos. He is easy handed and made the whole experience one that the next time Im in Phoenix (coming from Kansas), Id call him up again for another tattoo.

Best tattoo shop around! I saw Aaron for all the work done in my arm and he has gone above and beyond to give me quality art! I get compliments daily, and the other day was in the Starbucks drive through and the barista complimented me on my arm and turns out she goes to old west for her tattoos as well! My sister and dad have also got work done by Tayler, everyone here is dope!

Ive been getting tattoos from Tayler and Aaron for years. Never had any issues with my tattoos I love them all. Cooley pierced my ears and when I had some problems with the healing (100% my fault for not taking care of them right) I went back to the shop and he helped me out with no grief given. I recommend this place to everyone for anything you want!

I got my first tattoo today (actually got two) and everyone there made me feel so safe and comfortable! Drake did an amazing job and made sure to triple check that everything was perfect. I have been a client at Old West for a little under a year, but have grown up around tattoos and tattoo shops most of my life. I have learned to let the art speak for itself. All of these guys do bold and beautiful tattoos and piercings. Artwork aside Old West has always made me feel Welcome. They are every last word in what it means to be a tattoo shop. Clean, friendly, precise, and professional. Whether its a consultation, question or walk in these guys are always more than happy to help. I always look forward to my next session.

Joey was great and the place was clean. Great atmosphere. My daughter also had her first cartilage piercing here almost two months ago and it looks great, healing perfect.

My sisters and I had such an awesome experience getting matching tattoos over my 30th bday weekend! Aaron was my artist and he was super chill and communicated well about placement and made sure to get the esthetic we were looking for.

Oldest child (21) and I got pierced by Ana and she was a freaking delight. Will be going to her from now on for all the extra holes. She took the time to do it right and we are both super happy with the results.

Went to get my nose pierced and everyone there was so kind and the piercer, Nick, was absolutely amazing and gave a good talk about aftercare.

Walked up as they were having an anniversary special with food out side. I asked what was going on, whats the specials , pricing and services. The employees looked at me with a dead stare, Deer in the head lights. Thought I was being bunked. Thought It was a tiktok prank . So uncomfortable . I asked again two more times, they looked at me with disgust, like why was I even there. Maybe its a race thang JUST SAYING!!! The environment is not welcoming to outsiders. If you bring up anything wrong with this place you are the problem. No apology nothing. They attack you if you bring up the name. Keep my country aaaa name out yo mothalovin mouth. This place is so rude hahaha Go else where , customer service is trashUPDATE :Management called me entitled, which is so funny. I’m entitled because I asked for pricing. God forbid , pricing is only for the inner circle. Ok maybe it’s not a race thing that means they were “ LIT “. These dudes were on planet caravan bruh. So lit didn’t even know I was there . Why get a tattoo from someone so gone. Manager proves my point of not welcoming strangers. He attacked me. Just read his response. Reminds me of Amy’s baking company hahaha you are the problem not Amy ……. Ok daaaaang , my bad . I’ll never ask for pricing again with my entitled aaaa

Showed up as a walk-in. Walked out with a very clean tattoo. That tattoo has been complimented by various people I see when at work. I am pleased with the tattoo and the quality of it. I have since gone back to get 3 more tattoos.I will be going back to get more tattoos.

Overall experience great! Friendly. Efficient. But after not even a week my tattoo is faded and in some parts so faded that I know I’ll need to pay someone else to touch it up. to which I’m disappointed. Waiting for it to heal more to be able to assess the damage.
