My mom, aunt, and grandpa all got memorial tattoos with ashes included in the ink. The second I walked in, it felt magical. The place is beautiful and clean. Then when we were meeting the tattoo artist, we all instantly felt safe and cared for. Throughout the process, she shared with us her condolences and comforted us through the experience. She re-created the signatures and penmanship perfectly. Family has looked at the tattoos and said Yup, thats her writing.And Taras beautiful floral designs are incredible. The flowers were beautiful and the dragonfly she did for my aunt is so amazing, we cant stop staring at it. The wings somehow look iridescent. The artwork was just magical.Although I, myself, didnt get a tattoo, the experience all around was emotional, magical, and comforting. Working with Tara really helped my family and I recommend her to anybody looking for a tattoo, whether or not its for memorial purposes. (Only my aunt with the floral design is comfortable sharing her tattoo.)

Let me tell you about the lovely Tara & the amazing and professional experience from start to finish. The shop was clean, quiet, and set up just for me. Tara had on a mask in anticipation of my arrival and the studio was clean in the best way in light of Covid-19 standards. She gave me such great company while providing a beautiful artistic service I get to keep forever. I highly recommend Black Dragon Tattoo. You will be taken care of above and beyond expectations. I even left with a little gift for my wedding next year. I can’t wait for next time ❣️

Tara is an amazing human being and an incredibly talented tattoo artist! I remember when she first opened up shop in Groton a good decade ago or so. I was living right around the corner at the time and loved visiting her shop. She was always so welcoming and the shop was so captivating! Fast forward to today - I moved back to upstate NY and realized Tara was still in the area! We are currently working on a large scale project and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turning out! What I love about her art is that it looks beautiful, real, delicate, and natural. Her color selection is genius. I cannot wait to finish our current piece and begin the next one!

I have many tattoos and have seen more than a dozen tattoo artists. Tara is by far my favorite. Tara has the experience to take your idea and make it a hundred times better. The tattoo shop has the friendliest vibe. She is so talented but she is still so down to earth that it is fun talking to her. But she is also comfortable working in silence if that is what you prefer. She is so fun that 2 hours being tattooed feels like minutes. Her art is fairly priced and it feels like you are getting a steal, compared to other places. I don’t think I will go anywhere else without going to Tara first.

Tara is by far the most amazing, talented tattoo artist. Shes real, and easy to talk to during long sessions. Her studio is clean and comfortable, and she does everything she can to make sure you are relaxed during your time with her. I would never consider anyone else.

Tara is a talented artist, she has tattooed both my husband and I. We are returning patrons and will continue to do so in the future. Absolutely loved Tara. It was my first tattoo from her, and she made the experience so comfortable and enjoyable. I loved the fact after she was finished she went back over the design to make sure she didn’t miss anything or to touch an area up if needed to make a line darker/ add more shading. I absolutely love my new tattoo and can’t wait to go back!!

Tara is an incredibly experienced, professional soul who is absolutely amazing at what she does. The art that she is able to create is timeless, classic, and breathtaking. She knows what is going to look good on different parts of your body, what style of fonts will work with your text, and performs her tattooing in personal and professional manner. I got my first tattoo done by her in 2015, and have since gone back 7 other times, only to her.... as she is the only person that I would trust to tattoo me.When you enter her shop, youll be impressed by the decor, but also the cleanliness of the space-- everything is very sanitary and comfortable to those new to tattoo shops. Love this shop! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and despite looking through many-a tattoo portfolios on instagram I just keep coming back to Tara because I know I can count on her for my tattoos to do a great job and provide great service. She responds quickly to emails, is easy to chat with during the tattooing process, and gives great aftercare instructions.

Tara is an extremely talented tattoo artist! I’ve gotten four tattoos from her thus far. She’s honest, her studio is extremely clean, you have privacy while getting tattooed, she’s professional, and in my opinion the best tattoo artist in the area! I have 7 tattoos total and plan to get many many more, but she is the only artist that I will go too. I highly recommend her. Tara has done both of my only two. Each time I have been blown away and have gotten so many compliments. Just got my second by her yesterday and Im in love with it! And she has done a handful of people I know who were also very very happy with them. The shop is warm and welcoming and she makes you feel very comfortable the whole process. Very professional and will be getting more from here in the future.

Every time I go back to Black Dragon Tattoo Company for more work I am once again blown away by the professionalism, cleanliness, amazing artwork and great prices! I have sat with Tara no less then 5 times now and each and every time she has gone above and beyond to assure my happiness with her designs as well as my comfort while being worked on. Tara is incredible! She designed me the most beautiful cattoo that I am absolutely in love with. She is super personable and we chatted the entire time (which helps keep your mind off the discomfort!). The shop is fun and very clean. She answered all my questions and sent me off with a comprehensive care sheet. When I e-mailed her later that night with a question, she responded almost immediately. I went in for the SPCA Fundraiser and couldnt have had a better experience. From the moment I walked up--not even through the door yet--I was greeted with smiles and warm welcomes. This was my 7th tattoo but my first at Black Dragon, and I loved the small, cozy feel. Not only was it very clean and sanitary, but I felt like the atmosphere was much more welcoming to all types of people. The artists were all very nice and they very much cared for tattooing and animal welfare, the reason for the fundraiser, and something dear to me. Gotta love artists that are passionate and real.If I lived in the Groton area or had a car, I would definitely choose Black Dragon as my company of choice for my future tattoos!

I highly recommend Chelsi and Black Dragon Tattoo to anyone in the local area! I came in to get a piercing done, and the shop was immediately welcoming and friendly! I was greeted right away and welcomed to make myself feel at home while I waited, though there was no wait at all! Chelsi came straight out and immediately made me feel at ease! She had worked with me prior to the appointment, answering my many many crazy questions, and is always friendly and amazing! Today she had prepared a few different options of jewelry that she thought I would like (so sweet!) and even was patient as I went back and forth on colors! She fully explained the process and the aftercare, and really took the time to listen and fully answer any concerns I had. Then we got down to business: she was very careful and attentive, ensuring the proper placement and even talking to me about the underlying anatomical concerns and healing concerns with different placements (so knowledgeable!). Once we had gone over it, she talked me through the whole process as she did it (which made me feel very at ease and excited to see her work!). IT IS AMAZING! She got it EXACTLY RIGHT!!! It is absolutely EVERYTHING I ever wanted, and is placed PERFECTLY on my body! She is an absolute expert, taking time and consideration, and paying attention to my individual body to make sure this piercing is one I am going to love for the rest of my life! I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Chelsi! I will definitely be going back for more!

I first had work done by Tara at Black Dragon in 2013. It had been a while since I had gotten any work done and was anxious to go to someone new. But I really wanted to get some ink and thought...I have never had art done by a woman sooo yay female power I decided I would give it a try! She did a wonderful job. While I went in with only a phrase I wanted, she worked up a sketch for me and it turned out exactly how I wanted it. She was professional and very personable. The shop was clean and the vibe was exactly what I was looking for. Nothing commercial about it. The environment completed the experience. The ultimate in ink therapy! Needless to say, it wasnt long before I went back and it wont be long before I go back again!
