Blue Horseshoe Tattoo and Body Piercing

This was my second time getting my nipples pierced, the first time was not at this location and was very painful. My second go around here at blue horseshoe , I was serviced by (Noel) and she was amazing. She gave me a lot of information, picked my brain with fun facts , and made me feel extremely comfortable. She allowed me to know when she started the piercing , guided me through breathing with ease, and was very precise on the position of the piercing. Pain rating was a 3/10 and believe me my first time was a solid 10. I was able to touch my nipples (while my shirt was on) and feel no pain. even the cleaning part had no pain! (which normally would sting a little) 10/10 highly recommend! Ask for NOEL !

The vibes here are immaculate! Noel is who pieced me and her customer service is top tier. She’s thoughtful and patient and incredibly educated. The rest of the team here as well, like Sammy, are AWESOME! Very quick, very cool, very kind. Everything you’d want from a piercing/tattoo studio :)

I was skeptical because I lived in, and know, the area and it has a reputation for that part of town. I decided to give BHT a chance and Im so glad I did. I brought an idea but Paulie put a twist on it that made the real thing even better, and he was super patient. The outline looks sooo cool and my mans (who I got it for) loves it. As a huge Buccanners fan, I quote, That goes hard AF. Now I wont post a pic here, but know the tattoo is sick. I got a custom tat that came out to $300, which included color, design, consult, ink, and labor fees. The work, the artists, pleasant experience.BHT was recommended to me by 3 people (one listed an artist Sarah. I did not work with her on my visit.) Ill recommend Paulie at BHT.UPDATE: I am super excited that 1 month later, while it was a loooong wait (no thanks to my beloved head voices) I got my tat finished! Thank goodness Paulie was available and remembered exactly what the design was. This (though still healing) looks absolutely sick and badass!

Amazing place to get piercings or tattoos I would recommend this place to anyone! They are so welcoming, understanding, patient, caring, and very polite. I walked in today because my piercing had came through my nose from being snatched by my nephews hair. I was in pain, terrified and panicking from the end piece going inside of the hole from my piercing and it being stuck. Noel and the other lady were so loving and they both calmed me down and made me feel so comfortable. She was able to fix my piercing with NO PAIN! I love this place so so much!

Everyone here was very nice my piercer noel was the best Ive had, she was very kind, fast, and gentle handed. Noel shows true care and concern for her customers in the long run. She also answered all my piercing questions with a lot of clarity. If youre getting a piercing she is absolutely wonderful.

Go see Noel! Shes really amazing at what she does and super sweet! She pierced my cartilage and it was fast, painless and perfect. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend. They have cute jewelry too!

Anna helped me with purchasing new jewelry today and she was amazing! She was super understanding of my budget and helped me stay within it. She checked and double checked to make sure I was happy with the final product. Excellent customer service and a pleasure to talk with. Will definitely be coming back

Lena, Anna, and Noel are so friendly and I love them all. Noel has done both of my nose piercings and is so sweet! Lena and Anna chatted while we waited for our turn to be pierced and we all had a blast. Love it here, will be recommending and coming back!

Went yesterday to get angel fangs done, and I was pierced by Justin. He is absolutely fantastic, and took his time marking things and making sure I loved the placement. It was my second time getting pierced here, and I left happy both times

Really cool place, Ive only been to this specific location for one of my Tattoos but it was my first! Very clean and kind people thatll help you out with what you need. My tattoo artist Jimmy was amazing, really gentle and explained aftercare to me. Ive had experiences at other places where they were too heavy handed and I had a blow out but he did amazing and my tattoo looks great healed!

Noel was the best piercer ive ever had!! Quick, funny, and very gentle. Very obviously cares about the customer and we will be back for more piercings with her :)

Got my ear lobes pierced by Noel and it was a really great experience overall!! she was super nice and answered any questions i had, the piercing itself was quick and easy (and very clean). def would recommend

I have always been very nice when i have visited this place and i regret everytime i leave. Literally all the artists that work here always have an attitude. I asked about a certain tattoo and the guy was like well that’s a lot of line work. and saying it’s gonna take long. Basically acting like he didn’t wanna do it. why would i want to continue getting a tattoo from you? he then goes back w his co workers and let’s out the biggest sigh and she says i’m sorry. why is it so hard to be nicer?? i’ve come here and spent lots of money and none of those times has anyone treated me with any respect. DO BETTER!!!

Rating: -100/10I’m not usually one to leave bad reviews, in fact this is my very first, but this time it’s necessary. I recently came here to get a tattoo as a walk in appointment. Let me preface by saying I totally understand that this was a walk in appointment, however there is a certain unsaid rule about what you expect in terms of quality when you go to get a tattoo, appointment or not. When my friend and I walked in, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted done (reference picture is the first image below). Upon talking to the artist, Paulie, I made sure to let him know that I was getting this tattoo to cover up scars, so it was very meaningful to me. We agreed that he would draw up a sketch so as to not copy the original artist’s work. He took some time to draw up a new stencil and I really liked the way the drawing looked, image also below (second image), so I agreed to continue on with the tattoo. Once the stencil was placed, I still really enjoyed the way it looked so we agreed to get started. However, before we started, I made it very clear that I wanted the lines more on the dainty side, as seen in the original inspo picture, and I also wanted very minimal shading, if any at all. He started doing the line work and it was off to a great start. The first leaf he did looked great! The lines were thin and the line thickness was consistent. As he gets further into the tattoo, it starts getting painful, which causes me to not pay as much attention to how he is tattooing (I don’t believe I should have to double check the quality of the work as it’s being done, but). Eventually the line work was completed and initially, it looked fine to me (I was also trying not to pass out so my full attention was not on the consistency of the tattoo at the time). He then says he’s going to start shading and once again I mention that I’d like it to be minimal. Once he gets about halfway through the shading, I take a look and it is way darker and taking up more of the tattoo than I had expected from what we discussed. his response was something along the lines of “don’t worry, it’ll lighten up once it’s healed”. I took his word for it (which I realize is partially my fault) and let him continue. Again, the pain gets bad enough that I’m really not paying attention for a while. As he’s finishing up, I take another peek and see this smokey shading in the background of my tattoo that was never once discussed. We had only discussed minimal shading in the leaves and branches, nothing in the background. I told him I absolutely did not like it and again, he just said something along the lines of “when it heals it’ll be a lot lighter”. My (and multiple other tattoo artist’s opinions from different shops) suspicion as to why he did this background smoke shading without my permission, was to try to cover the blown out lines that he had previously tattooed. when the tattoo was completed, I said I didn’t like it, and again he dismissed me. For the next 48 hours I was having a panic attack because of how poorly it was done and how incredibly different it was from what I asked for (which I understand is a bit dramatic). I went to another shop two days later to get their opinion and make sure I wasn’t being overdramatic, and they told me it was, in fact, a horrible tattoo with blown out, inconsistent lines, inconsistent shading, and was completely different than my reference and even the stencil. Because I’m so unhappy with the tattoo, they recommend that i have it lasered since it is too dark to try to cover. Now I have a consult in a couple weeks to when I can have it removed, because an artist at the Blue Horseshoe in Hampton cannot produce quality work. I will update as I have more laser appointments.Update: I called the shop and asked to speak to the manager about coming to some sort of resolution. When I asked, he laughed in my face (well, phone I guess) and said it wasn’t his problem anymore because the artist had already been paid. It was extremely rude and disrespectful.

I got a tattoo done on my birthday and was super excited about it. When I came in they said no one was available and I had to wait. Well Rhino, the manager, was about to leave but decided to stay. He made it SUPER obvious that he would’ve rather left and was so disinterested in doing my tattoo. When he was doing the actual tattoo he took a phone call from his wife and told me that he was supposed to be at a football game right now and how his wife is made at him because he was supposed to have been gone at that point. That being said, he rushed through the whole thing. All of the lettering was crooked and super sloppy. In fact not even 3 days after I got the tattoo, some of the letters started disappearing.However, I did get a different tattoo from Brandon about two years ago that has healed beautifully and he was a great artist.

I got my septum pierced here by noel. she is the holey GOAT! I was very very nervous because I pass out easily. she was so comforting and literally talked me through each step and made me so relaxed and I didnt even faint. she is the absolute best and so quick!!!!!! she will be my only piercer from now on.

I got pierced by Noel today and she was absolutely amazing!! She talked me through the whole thing and completely calmed my nerves. She was incredibly quick as well, I will never go to another piercer besides her anymore!

Crystal and Justin are the absolute best! Theyve been my piercers every year since 2012. Always super helpful and make everything virtually painless!

I just had a tattoo done here 3 weeks ago. PHENOMENAL!!!! I have been stopped so many times and had the artists work complimented. Paulie was amazing. The tattoo he created is just stunning!!! I will be going back and have recommended this place!

Called last week to inquire about my son getting his ears pierced. Lady on the phone said he has to be 6 yrs and over and its walk in. Me and my 9 year go in this morning to be told I had to make an appointment and I need his birth certificate. Was this not information to include in the phone call I just had with your establishment recently?

I went in for a last minute tattoo with my baby brother and my sister for a surprise sibling birthday tattoo with them. It took a short time for Rhino to stencil it out for us. He did an amazing job not letting my brother see what he was getting!!! (All part of the plan!) Lol. The staff was so nice and the piercer was so gentle with changing my rings out for me!!!! Thanks you guys! My brother had a birthday he will never forget!!!

Rhino was my artist (He’s also the shop manager). He is AMAZING in his artistry. When you are in his seat he is very personable and kind. We held a great conversation. Don’t believe the bad reviews about Rhino from disgruntled people because they are NOT true.

Went for a walk in for a small tattoo, Brandon was available and was super nice! Easily was in and out within 45 min. Brandon made sure that I liked the design, size, and position. He did a great job :) Only charged me $80, which is the minimum for a tattoo there.

Ive come here before for a few of my piercings with Crystal (will still be back for more) but I recently got my first tattoo here at this shop as well. Sar gave me the most amazing first time experience here and explained the whole process to me. We worked on my design together and in the matter of a few hours I got this beautiful piece done on me. Its exactly how I imagined it but even better! Ill be going back for my shading in a few weeks and I cant wait. Super clean shop and welp doing their best through this covid pandemic(as the rest of us are). You will need to wait outside at the STOP as someone will have to take your temperature and sanitize those hands! I was terrified when I walked in. The attendant (I hate I forgot his name bc he was funny as heck) made me feel so relaxed. Very friendly and helpful. The tech Crystal was amazing! Quickly made me feel at ease. Answered all of my questions in her introduction. Walked me thru everything. It was over before i knew it. I didnt feel a thing. Highly recommend!

I went here for the first time a couples weeks ago. It had been a while since I got my last tattoo. Sarah was the artist and price was $300. I got a harlequin type clown. She was awesome. Very friendly and not heavy handed. I will be back for at least one more.

As someone who treats herself to a tattoo every year I can say blue horseshoe is very clean and nice. The artist I prefer is Jimmy James who specializes in color creepy and cartoonish. They also just renovated the bathroom which was the only thing I felt was lacking.

Got two tattoos here both of them are infected. Just went to see James older white guy that did my tattoo. He had nothing to say about the fact my tattoos are infected. Avoid this “artist “ .

Couldn’t be happier with Rhino’s work on our mother/daughter tattoo. He was very personable, fast, and thorough. Can’t wait for the next one! The whole staff was pleasant.

I had requested Sarah because of a recommendation from a coworker as a good color artist. I brought her an original idea (honestly one that i wasnt even sure could be done) and she blew it out of the water. I mean that she gave me a tattoo i have been staring at for hours. Her mastery of color and her creativity are more than impressive enough to me that she has gained a lifelong customer. The shop was clean, well kept, and professional. See you again soon!

Dont go here “People.” It’s too expensive!! I’ve gone in for a Tattoo, as a walk-in the artists are very disrespectful, they give off a personality impression of “I don’t want to be here at work.”Also their piercings are ridiculously high in pricing, titanium and stainless steel selections. $110.50 for a nose piercing?! No thank you!! I’ll be going to a piercing location elsewhere.Also your tattoo artists over price a lot, got a piece done here in 2023, I was charged $350 for a small spider the size of my thumb.

Dropped in to get help with my nose stud. Just needed a change! Everyone was just as friendly & professional as they were when I first got pierced. Adam is great and knows what hes doing! If youre gonna get pierced, this is the place to do it. Highly recommend!

Imagine a tattoo artist turning down someone for a neck tattoo in 2024. Didn’t catch dudes name but he got gold teeth. Didn’t know this place moonlit as a church.

I have been here twice now. One of the ladies I do not vibe with she looks at me in disgust when I asked about the jewelry/ questions about piercings. It’s almost like she is annoyed that I am there. The way she asked me to fill out the consent forms she just has some attitude about her( also when I asked where the ATM was she just is like rude) I’m not really sure what it is but the other ladies were great and nice. The other girl who works at the store has been great both times that I’ve gone, she’s answered all my questions I’ve had. I’m not sure who did my piercing but she’s very quick got the job done, very professional. I went in to have my nose pierced and my daith and tragus jewelry put back in and I am so grateful she could get them in. I wouldn’t go back to buy jewelry only for the fact that one of the workers just doesn’t have the greatest attitude about doing her job. But I would go back if I wanted another piercing by the same lady.

My piercer (Dan) was great! I got pierced last Friday by him (nipples, belly button, and septum) However, the front desk woman named Bri was very rude. She seemed annoyed by having to do the bare minimum. She seemed very passive aggressive and just overall not friendly.

I went there a week ago, to get a new tattoo. I spoke with Jimmy. Told him what I wanted. I went back yesterday and the picture he came up with was awesome. He is an awesome Tattoo artist. The time and details he put into my piece. I recommend to see him. The whole staff was professional. The studio was clean.

Went to get a fairly simple tattoo, as soon as i got done realized some lettering is literally touching, the “M’s” in remember are a whole different size, the “started” is unreadable i have never made a review but if you are gonna do something that’s stuck on someone’s body forever atleast make it decent not this!!!!

Best piercing place on the peninsula, all around. Ive been coming here for about 4 years and the front desk staff was not always the most hospitable, but recently theyve made adjustments and restaffed quite a bit. I send everyone I can here, and specifically for piercings I try to get them to Justin. In ten years of body modification, Justin is the best piercer Ive ever met. He makes you incredibly comfortable and informed with all your piercing decisions and placements. One of the artists Paul is super awesome as well, and very creative- I enjoy seeing the art he puts out. He also makes sure youre satisfied with the art before leaving. Make trips right after shipment though, they sell super fast.

15 years ago I got my ears pierced by a piercing gun at the mall. The holes closed up and I decided to get them pierced again but this time with a sterile needle at blue horseshoe tattoo. I told the staff I dont like needles but I knew it was better to go this route; they reassured me it wouldnt be bad. It def. Hurt a little more than a piercing gun but my ears healed so much faster and better! I wish I could remember the names of the woman who helped me pick out my earrings and the woman who actually pierced my ears. They made the experience a lot more entertaining and they even offered me a lollipop due to me being nervous lol Im considering my first tattoo and I think Ill come here just because of this experience.

People were super friendly, Rhino did an amazing job, tweaking my choice to be just perfect. I cant wait to see it healed but it is already perfect.

Got a walk-in lope piercing here on a whim and it was fantastic. The piercer was professional and performed comprehensive cleaning process. Also they used threadless posts, which are safe and easy for cleaning. I’ve been to other shops for tattoo but I think this one should be the best; will come back for ink next time I travel here.

My tattoo artist was a man named 3 hole Joel. Great dude, kept asking me if I’ve ever been to the dugout. Told me he’d could make me a catcher tonight. I’m not even a baseball fan, but he pitched a great game. 10/10 would definitely come again

Walked in around opening time, was seen right away, and got exactly what I wanted. Place was clean, well lit, and very organized. My artist Rhino was friendly, and knew his stuff. I was in and out in an hour and a half.

Very friendly people, & I LOVED the atmosphere and energy in there. My piercer was Jessica Murphy and they did an amazing job super fast very friendly as well!! I absolutely love my piercing I will definitely be going back!! Not quite sure what the other reviews are talking about “the workers having an attitude” no one there was rude or bad an “attitude” it’s a professional place with professional people.

I brought my teen to get her ears peirced, and we had an awesome experience! When we were doing our initial research, I got all my questions answered, and I felt confident and fully prepared by the staff member who answered the phone. We are treated to the same professional and kind customer service when we went in as well. I cant say enough good about the help at the front desk. The patience they had with us was unbelievable, and the person who helped us select our jewelry was kind and had a great sense of humor about the whole thing! Finally, the person who did the actual work was OUTSTANDING! They were kind, patient, calm, and extremely professional from start to finish. I could immediately tell that they took the job extremely seriously with very organized sterile tools that were opened immediately before use in front of us, gloves changed very frequently and never touching any surface before they touched tools or skin. Every step was thoughtful, meticulous, and not rushed. I will recommend this place to anyone for any service they provide because it is obvious from the second you walk in the door that they care very much about the quality of their work.

I really liked this place. They care about your well-being when piercing you and they’re very sanitary. They are one of the places I trust the most when it comes to piercings. I also enjoy how there’s an ATM on sight as they only take cash.

Very clean place. The clerk at the desk was very friendly. This was my first time going to this Blue Horseshoe in Hampton. I went here to get my nosed pierced. Jessica pierced my nose. She did such a good job. She made sure she placed the dot for the piercing in a perfect spot, and kept me calm for my nose piercing (because that pinch feeling was a really hard pinch lol). But my first experience with this facility and the piercer was awesome. Thank you Jessica!

Went here to get a matching tattoo with my sister, and it came out exactly as we hoped! The staff was helpful and patient, it was our first time and we were not as sure about details, but they worked with us until we loved it. The actual tattooing process was quick and well done! They also carefully explained aftercare and how to make sure it healed well. Overall, we would come back in the future and loved our experience!! I have had many piercings over the years and specifically had my ear done multiple times. Each time the healing process was unbearable and I ended up taking it out. Until now!! I got two piercings same ear and its been a breeze. I realized that over places give you a post that doesnt accommodate the natural swelling of your ear. The pressure of the swelling against the earring backing didnt allow for proper healing. At Blue Horseshoe your post is longer therefore your ear can naturally swell and heal. Its a game changer. Plus my earrings are super cute!!

Justin was amazing and talked me through the whole process! Front desk staff was very helpful with all of my questions and helping me pick out jewelry. The apprentice (didn’t get her name) was also very helpful! Will be going back for all my piercing needs.

I got my first tattoo by Brandon and he was the best and super professional, I can gladly say I will go to him for any other tattoo I get. Overall awesome experience and good prices.

I can’t express just how FANTASTIC my experience at Blue Horseshoe was! My daughter has been wanting to get her nose pierced, and we both ended up getting pierced! I had no idea about the flat back jewelry! My main reason for taking mine out years ago, was because the end of the jewelry always flipped down and looked like something dangling out of my nose. I HATED that! But when we arrived both Katie & Lena were so helpful and full of knowledge! We learned so much from them and excitedly both got pierced! And Crystal the piercer is hand down the only person we will go to from here for piercings! We felt like we were in amazing hands. She is very professional, skilled and experienced, it’s beyond obvious that piercing isn’t just fun and games to her… it’s her profession and she takes it seriously. While lots of fun I’m sure! Lol We will quickly recommend her to our friends and family. There was a decent wait, but that’s not a bad thing… and Crystal is worth every second of waiting for! Do yourself a favor… go visit Blue Horseshoe Hampton and know you’re in good hands with Lena, Crystal and Katie.

4 weeks ago I got the top of my right ear pierced. Today I got my left one done. The gentleman that checked us in both times was very nice. Two different ladies did the piercings. All of them very friendly. The ladies talked me thru the procedure each time. The area they worked out of was very clean as was the rest of the establishment. Would recommend for piercing for sure. Havent had any tattoos done, but like I said the place was very clean.

I LOVE blue horseshoe. All of the artists who work here do quality, amazing work. I’ve had the pleasure of getting a tattoo from 3 of the artists here. Rhino is awesome! If you’re hesitant because of some of the reviews don’t be! Just make sure you look at that artists work before asking them to do something. If a design/style is not something that’s shown in their portfolio, how can you get mad at them for not wanting to do it. 😂 anyways. Literally have nothing but good to say about this place!

Really wanted to like this place but unfortunately didn’t have a great experience. Me and an old friend went in to get, self admittedly, stupid mustache tattoos on the inside of our fingers and we got paired up with Brandon. He tried to talk us out of it but it’s not like this is our first rodeo. We have tattoos. We know the inside of the finger is going to look bad in a short amount of time. We know the drill. But we’ve talked about this for over a decade and that’s what we wanted to get so we proceeded to move forward. I Ended up showing him a drawing of the stache style/size we wanted. It was a simple solid black mustache with a slight handle bar at the end about 3-4” long .5” tall. Brandon says the shops minimum charge is 80$ a piece so that’s what we’d have to pay. This is understandable and we were ok with that. He comes back to us with something he printed off that’s not in the style I had sketched and is about 3/4”-1” in length. We tell him we want it across the majority of our finger, like the picture I had just shown him. Brandon then proceeds to say oh then it’s definitely going to be over 80$ and says it’ll be 120$ a piece. At that point we’re like ok this isn’t going to happen. Bottom line is Brandon clearly didn’t want to do the tattoo and that’s ok but instead of just saying that he opted to not pay attention to what we said and showed him, be weirdly dismissive, and somewhat passive aggressive. It’s just unfortunate. My friend has had such a great experience working with the artist Sarah there but Brandon’s lack of understanding and basic communication skills has left a bad taste in my mouth for the Mercury location and vicariously the rest as well. Everybody else was very nice and pleasant though.EDIT - added picture for clarification on what I had sketched and what Brandon showed up with.

Came in for nose piercing. Crystal was great! Surprisingly didnt hurt at all. It felt like a tiny pinch and its healing nicely. The cost is really affordable (I paid $35 which included my nose stud) and its a cash only place so be sure to come prepared. Had such a great experience my mom came in a few days later and got her nose pierced by Crystal as well!

We were from out of town and called ahead to get details about getting a nose piercing for a minor. We were just told an ID of parent and teen to make sure last names matched. Upon getting there my teen only had a student ID and we were told we needed a birth certificate. That would’ve been helpful phone information. I was clearly the parent. The child’s ID said Grade 9. How many ages can you be for grade 9 and it’s clear it was an ID from last school year and school is almost out. My signing off and that ID should’ve been enough. Very disappointing!

My husband and I went to Blue Horseshoe to get my nose piercing put back in as I was having trouble after having an MRI getting the piercing back in. We met 2 women in the front as we came in, had short blonde hair and another with I think her was blue. They were really nice they were at the front desk.They told us it would take about 30 minutes to get my nose pierce redoneThe young blonde filled out my paper, I paid and hubby and I sat down and waited. It got really really busy more and more people came in to get their nose pierced and after a while thete was about 6 more leoole waitin, we were there about 2 1/2 to 3 hours the lady started calling people by name unfortunately my name was not put on my card so my husband walked up to a huge African American guy who stated that he was the manager and asked him about adding my name to my receipt so I get called correctly. That manager was rude and had no customer service skills.He stated he was the manager and yes they got her name, My husband tried to tell him we did not give any name but he shut my husband down several times when my husband tried to ask him to put my name on the paper so they can call me at the proper time all he could say was Im the manager Im sure they took your name down and I dont need to do anything and then he walked away.Wouldnt look at the receipt, he was very rude my husband was infuriated. So I waited for the young blonde lady to get off the phone and I approached her and asked her how are they gonna call me if they didnt know my name so she asked me my name and I gave it to her she wrote on my receipt all the while the African American manager overheard me and gave me a look to kill me so I just sat down and waited until she finally called my name we went in the lady that was piercing she had dark hair was very friendly and very nice it was done in seconds. I was going to come back with my son and get some tattoos done which were not going to be cheap Along with some friends but due to that manager being rude I decided to take my tattoo business elsewhere even though the 3 young ladies were awesome, that manager has no customer service skills and dont allow customers to even explain what they needed. He was a complete jerk.

We used 2 separate artists. (Ill update names if I can figure them out) One did a great job on the tattoo he did, was personable, and she had a great experience with him all around. However the second artist did a moderate job on the tattoo at best (messed up several details, didnt connect all of his lines, drew extra lines where lines were not supposed to be) and had a poor attitude (didnt talk the entire time, made my wife feel as though he thought she was an idiot when he did speak, as well as becoming frustrated with us and sending me away because I was preventing him from being able to perform his job by distracting him, from across the room, as I silently flipped through the posters of all the artists works.)

W recently moving to virginia. calling the closest tattoo+ piercing shop to home to see if i could grab saline for my piercings, this is definitely a place that is welcoming. katie+ anna at the front desk greeted me coming in, instantly helped me. then later after talking+ looking at jewelry knowing that’s not what i went for i got my nose hoop switched out. the wait was less than five minutes. the piercer noel was super sweet. she clarified what i wanted w me+ asked me if i wanted a color change for my hoop. changed the color right in front of me, asked me if the color was ok, then proceeded to tell me what my nose hoop size was. this place is SUPER WELCOMING, definitely has a wide variety of jewelry to select from, the crowd is knowledgeable. side note, make sure you have five dollars cash towards your payment! i will definitely be back to shop around

I called first to see if they had a piercer working that day. The girl on the phone was super friendly and let me know that the piercer had gone to lunch, but let me know when she’d be back, that they do take walk ins, and what time they closed.So I headed there after lunch.Once there, Katie explained all my jewelry options, and got me settled with paperwork and payment. I asked her about something while I was waiting, and she was very kind and helpful. Seriously made me feel welcome and like a valued customer. Just genuinely friendly.The piercer Jess was professional, quick, and answered all my questions about aftercare and healing, as well as what to expect as far as swelling and odor. (Which I didn’t know was going to be a thing, so glad she mentioned that!) She gave me a card with all the info on my jewelry, dates to know for the healing timeline, and the phone number incase I had any questions later on.I’m very pleased with my experience here and definitely recommend them for piercings!

Jessica is amazing!! I’m IN LOVE with my new piercing! She was extremely professional & informative. She walked me through the whole thing & made me feel so comfortable especially when I was so nervous to get it done! She answered all my questions & really put me at ease. I really want to love this place and have nothing but a five star review but since being to this place twice Ive had a change of heart. I like the convenience and pricing of this place but I just cant get over the lack of hospitality. Everyone just looks as if they have some place better to be. The first time I came in I got a septum piercing and I had an okay experience. The jewelry was too small once I got home but I could tolerate it. I had to come back again months later to get my septum repierced (which was totally on me) and this time the experience wasnt so great. The piercer was a little standoffish even though I tried to be friendly. It seemed like she just wanted me in and out quickly. This time the septum piercing was crooked which I noticed the next day. I also believe that the piercing was too far down in my nose instead of high up closer to my nose bridge. The jewelry was also too big and uncomfortable but I guess it was my fault for picking it out. If I do decided to get it pierced a third time I think Ill find another location. My first experience was great so I would recommend this location but just do some research beforehand.

The front desk ladies were very helpful and super knowledgeable. I was referred to Justin by 2 different people for piercings. I wanted my nipples done (for the third time), and he made it the easiest, less painful piercing of all. He explained every step and made me extremely comfortable. Highly recommend Justin!

After reading a lot of other great reviews about the piercers Blue Horseshoe, I finally decided to get my first nose piercing done here. I was pretty nervous about it but I had a really great experience here! Justin was my piercer and he was absolutely amazing! Very professional but laid back and he walked me through the whole process. Explained everything down to what to expect as far as pain level (I’m a big baby and it really was NOT a bad at all!). He walked me through the post-care routine and some of the things I may come across. The ladies who checked me in were good also. It’s a very laid back, relaxed atmosphere which is exactly what I needed considering how nervous I was. I would definitely recommend this place and will go back for any other piercings I plan to have done.

Crystal does an excellent job with body piercings. Shes really professional, precise, and fast. Ive gotten 5 piercings from her, and Prior to that didnt have any. So her friendly personality really put me at ease since I was low-key freaking out. The rest of the staff are also very nice, professional, and gave good recommendations.

This was my first piercing experience since I was little, and it was great. The costumer service was fantastic, everything was very clean, and they told me what was going on at all times. My piercer was Crystal and I was very happy with how everything went. The piercing itself is fantastic and I have had no complications so far. Jessica and Justin have not only done a number of my piercings, but have also saved others. they are clean which is important anyway but especially now. you can ask all of your dumb questions and get a knowledgeable response. I feel very comfortable going to either of them and the shop carries quality jewelry as well even if you’re not getting a new piercing.

I had the worst experience at Blue Horse Shoe. This is my first time having a bad experience with blue horseshoe I went to blue horseshoe on Sunday. The lady told me they do not have any available piercer come back on Monday we will be piercing all day I came back on Monday. and the man told me we stop piercing services at 8 o’clock. I went up there two times to try to get a piercing done every time I go. They say no one is available to Pierce or we stop at eight. This is very frustrating. Trying to get a piercing done when you’re being told the same thing I just saw the lady Pierce her coworker, but they told me no one is available. this is the worst customer service ever. This is not my first time going there. I never had an issue before until now blue horse. You will definitely not be getting my business in the future. I went up there twice. I did not get nothing accomplished feeling frustrated by the poor customer service

Crystal is an amazing piercer and gets them done super quick. I got a nostril piercing here about 2 years ago from her and it was such an easy process! The pain was about a 1/10. I recently came back about 2 months ago to get a septum piercing and Crystal did it again. The entire piercing process was about 2 minutes from beginning to end and it didn’t So fast! If you want any piercing, I recommend asking for Crystal to do it! I gave a 4/5 review because the front desk worker was a little unprofessional last time I came but overall this is an amazing shop!I added 2 pictures and Crystal did both piercings in my nose.

On vacation with some friends. We decided to get tattoos. They werent joking when they said to get here by 930 -there would be a line. 12 people by the time it opened so prepare to wait. Tito did mine and I would def return to him if Im ever back in town and looking for more ink. Had some problems getting one of my friends artist to get moving. We were first in line and friends ink didnt start until 11:45(opened at 10). Overall great experience. Super clean environment. Professional. Would recommend-but get there early if you go on no appointment day

I will kindly say your front desk is the heart of your business and you guys seriously flatlined. I came in there to make an inquiry about a tattoo and to purchase a nose ring. There were several people behind the counter but I didnt get addressed. When I finally was addressed I asked the lady about the nose rings, she said they are over there top shelf.. didnt go over there with me so I could make a decision (first strike). Then after that I asked about the cost of a tattoo and while I am talking to her a tattooer comes over and starts having a conversation with her about another person who was waiting. There was not an excuse me, hold on, one moment or even a sorry. I stood there for a bit and got frustrated. She even backed up to look for something (still not addressing me). By the time she decided to answer me I was almost to the door walking out to go to another parlor. Funny thing about that, the same person they were discussing in front of me came right behind me. I reallly use to like this place because of previous work done. But times have changed.

I was in town from Atlanta and decided to stop by to get some piercings redone since I had been to another location before. This location was closer to where I was so I stopped by on a Friday night. The piercer, Justin, was great! Nice and professional. My piercings were done quickly and without any additional pain. The shop was clean. They seemed to be taking all the precautions for COVID. Id definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for piercings.

Despite what some reviews say, Rhino was amazing! My fiance and I went in to get ghost tattoos and he took us on his day off. He talked to us the whole time and was overall a great guy and the tattoos came out great!

Unfortunately, we never got past the counter. Took my daughter in for a piercing and the person who greeted us was incredibly rude and dismissive in our short interaction. They were busy. I asked if there was a time that was less busy that we could come back. Her response was anytime before now. Not exactly helpful. Needless to say I didnt get the vibe they wanted our business. Really bummed because they came highly recommended (at least for tattoos). Every interaction with a potential customer should be at least be professional.

Ok so boom.I just left Blue Horseshoe. Rhino was a complete jerk. His attitude was completely rude. He must have skipped the customer service training. After a few words exchanged I told him to I didnt want him to tattoo me. I went with another artist who was amazing and I will post another review about her. At any cost do not support him.

Love this place everyone was really nice and super helpful. Mr Merritt was very professional and my septum piercing was 90% painless. He walked me through the whole process and I knew what he was doing every step of the way. He even talked to me about other piercings I was thinking about and gave me some very helpful and knowledgeable tips. Definitely coming back for more work.

I went here to get my septum pierced. I received great service. Everyone was friendly. My piercer Justin was amazing and very knowledgeable. He was also very sanitary which is extremely important. I decided to get both sides of my nose done, and Jessica was beyond amazing with keeping me relaxed. She took her time to make all the lines and make sure everything matched up to the other side! I ended up getting worked up about the piercings when they were finished (I forgot to eat that morning) and she accommodated a glucose tablet & water to help me feel myself again. 11/10 will recommend her for any piercings!!

The young lady at the front desk was patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping me pick the best jewelry for the piercing I was about to get. Literally the worst customer service. I tried getting my ears pierced three times and nobody even wanted to do it. The first time they were at lunch for two hours. Second time they told me they close at 7 when I came in at 6. But online it says they close at 9. Then finally some orange haired girl told me I couldn’t cause my license was cracked at the bottom. Save your time and money and go to avarin in Newport News!

The only reason I went back to the Blue Horseshoe is because it was cheaper than my preferred piercing shop. If I hadnt experienced another place I wouldnt have known how bad this place is. I only wanted my notril piercing changed to a shorter post with a bigger gem, piercer is so rough and reinflamed my piercing. It hurt when she took it out, it hurt when she put a new one in. On top of that it was too tight, which I asked about and was told it was fine. I went to another place immediately afterwards it was a long wait but it was worth it to not be man-handled. The piercer was so gentle and it didnt hurt when she took it out, it hurt less (than at the Blue Horseshoe) when she put my old post back in. I was so surprised at how much needless pain I went through. Never going back, Ive been here twice and both experiences were bad. The first time I went she didnt place my nose piercing where I asked because she didnt think it would look right, even after I insisted and she agreed. I didnt want to take it out and start over so I kept it and went back a few months later thinking this experience would be better. Ill just pay extra to have my piercings handled with care from now on.

It was a pretty good experience. My tattoo artist Paulie was really nice. It was my first tattoo and he made me feel comfortable. Its healing very well and looks great. Will definitely go back to him in the near future.

Clean, organized store. Friendly, helpful employees. I went in for a piercing because of their location and I knew it was a well established business. I was so happy to find that Justin Merritt was working there. I have had past piercings done by Justin and was happy with his work. So, to find him at Blue Horseshoe, it made me even more reassured that my experience there would be a good one. I recommend Justin because he is courteous, patient, knowledgeable and has several years of piercing experience.

I got here for all my piercings and it doesnt matter if its Justin or the female piercer (Im so sorry I forgot her name but she pierced my nose last night and did an amazing job); they both are great at what they do, Justins done 2 lip piercings and an industrial on me and multiple others on my friends. The staff is always friendly and its a good atmosphere and clean studio. I highly recommend!

Went in for two piercings. The atmosphere was very clean and the people were very chill. Crystal was my piercer and was super nice and answered all my questions. She let me watch her change the color of the jewelry and was patient with me. When I needed to relax between piercings she talked with me and gave me some glucose gummies when I was feeling light headed! Super professional and sanitary while also being casual and fun! Definitely recommend!

Justin has done all 12 of my piercings he’s the best. However lately the wait time has been ridiculous 30mins-1hr to get pierced.. a second piercer seems necessary ASAP.

So I finally decided on a nostril piercing. After much research and asking of my peers two names kept coming up Justin Merritt and Blue Horseshoe.I would first like to say aside from being a visually fun place, this shop is extremely clean. I am a hospital administrator with ridiculously high standards, More than exceed my expectations. Every staff member was helpful beyond what I expected. My piercing, done by Justin, was precise, as comfortable as possible and actually fun! I was given as much time as needed to be comfortable before and after, and I felt safe.Their jewelry selection is fabulous . Justin and staff were so patient and kind in helping me select the perfect piece. Prices,selection,service and atmosphere are a force to be reckoned with. I will be back for another piercing as well as a tattoo with Jimmy James very shortly. Customer for life!

I just turned 16 and went to get my belly button pierced. Justin was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable. He made me feel comfortable the entire time and gave me a play-by-play of how it would all happen. It didn’t hurt much and afterwards he gave me all of the care instructions and told me to call or come back at anytime if I needed help. He even pierced my sister, mother, and aunt at the same place seven years ago! The best piercer I’ve ever had by far!!

Jimmy James Higgins made me and 3 others uncomfortable. We felt like a burden the whole time we were there. He wouldn’t collaborate with me, didn’t offer suggestions, and kept looking at the clock. In respecting his time, we came back later and tried again, he still reacted the same. I was seriously disappointed. I ended up telling him Nevermind that I didn’t want it from him anymore. Meanwhile, my friend got tatted by Brandon and he did an amazing job, took his time and was FRIENDLY. Meanwhile, Jimmy sat in his booth for two hours not tattooing anyone when he could have been making money off me. Overall disappointed, and won’t be back. (P.S. don’t put your feet on the couch. They don’t like it.)

A friend recommended Justin for my tongue piercing. I walked into the shop with no idea what to expect. Everyone greeted me making me feel welcome. The young woman behind the counter was very friendly, informative and patient with my numerous questions and concerns. The piercing area, instruments, and table were very clean and Justin was wonderful. Will not hesitate to return for another piercing or recommend their establishment.

My first tattoo with my siblings. We were put on the waitlist was told 2 hour wait but not even 30mins later they called and asked if we were ready: great customer service nice people except for the hefty black guy. He was really rude had an attitude the whole time. Got mad cause I wanted to change a detail in my tattoo. Tattoo came out alright. It’s the meaning behind it but I definitely could’ve done a better job. He messed up my club and the shading is terrible. Not sure if I would go back but if I did I would not go back to that guy he gets a 1 star rating.

Ive been in Blue Horseshoe several times. Each and every time I have walked into the shop I was promptly greeted by the tattoo artists and/or the front counter. In the piercing chair, I immediately let Justin know I was nervous, and he reassured me I would be fine. My confidence in him heightened with each of his answers. His process was sterile and confident. Just as he said.. it was quick and painless (I was surprised I didnt have the single tear)! I think I have a normal pain tolerance. Though Justin said I handled it really well, I think hes just good at what he does!! If I ever decide to get anymore work done, Blue Horseshoe will get my business. Thanks, Justin!! I was terrified when I went because it was my first ever tattoo. But Paul took me and my brother as a walk in. He made sure placement was ok and that every line of each letter was perfect! I will be going back!

My friend and I came here to both get a piercing and I also wanted to inquire about booking a future tattoo appointment. When we got there just a few minutes after they opened, there was already a line almost out the door! We were greeted by Crystal, who would soon be our piercer, and were asked about what we wanted. Unfortunately, we found out that oral piercings (which my friend had wanted) was still not being offered due to covid. Also, when I asked about a tattoo artist’s availability, I was told that she would tell her to speak to me about it, but that unfortunately never happened.After filling out our paperwork, we went back up to choose our jewelry which would be facilitated by the front desk worker. While we were waiting, however, we were ignored while they continued their own conversations behind the desk. Once we did get to choose our jewelry, there were a lot of options which was very nice! However, it seemed as though we were being pushed into getting titanium jewelry even though we wanted stainless steel. I chose my jewelry and the woman asked me, “but you want titanium, right?” And when I told her no, she seemed very annoyed with it.After paying (cash only), I realized that gauge size was never discussed so I decided to go up and ask about it (my receipt said nothing about what gauge I was going to be pierced at, but my friend’s receipt did). I had no issues doing so, but my friend said that the front desk worker acted like it was very much of a hassle to change (even though all she had to do was tell the piercer just like she had done for me).During the piercing process, Crystal was very professional and showed obvious skill and knowledge, and seemed to be very well-trained/experienced. She was able to simply look at a piece of unmarked jewelry and instantly know what gauge and length it was. She even went as far as to ask me about anodizing my jewelry so that it would match all of my current jewelry (all black), as well as to match the bar length and ball size of my current jewelry (since I was getting a helix right above an existing helix). I also ended up getting upgraded from the stainless steel jewelry to titanium at no charge since there was an issue with finding the correctly-gauged jewelry in stainless.

Sarah up front amazing. Great humor , very personable . Justin! Oh man besides being an amazing human and easy on the eyes he pierced me with the quickness , had good conversation skills and definitely distracted me from the pain I was going to have and after was very informative on care. Real stand up guy. I got tattooed by Rhino. Very honest , up front, fun loving, unique individual. Definitely appreciated his banter and his booth for sure. Honestly 10/10 will come again for my next body altering needs. You guys are amazing! Again thanks a bunch I laughed a lot and had almost now wait!!!

My trip to this establishment was wonderful. I was impressed by the professionalism of the staff and the great art work that they do. I am thankful for them as this was my first tattoo. I would highly recommend that you see them. Only reason I did not give it a 5 start is because I had to wait almost 5 hours to see someone. Which in the end was my fault because I did not make an appointment, I was a walk in. I will be going back to see them but with an appointment next time.

Ive had 3 piercing done here and highly recommend Jessica. The area is very clean, open, and she as well as everyone Ive encountered there are willing to guide you through the selection process or piercing process.

Went for a walk in knowing I would get a random artist. The artist that greeted me, Rhino, was extremely rude and passive aggressive. Asked me what I wanted and when I was trying to explain it rudely asked if I had pictures. Dude ask for that up front. So he said “yea I can do that”. So I went and did the paperwork. I started getting a bad feeling. So I looked up his work. It was on the completely opposite spectrum of my cute and dainty tattoo. No my dude, you could NOT give me what I wanted. The style of tattoo I wanted is NOT the style that you tattoo. So you were going to botch my tattoo and from the disgusted vibe and face you have me when I showed you the picture, potentially overcharge me. I went up to the front desk and explained that the artists style wasn’t what I wanted and I had changed my mind. She tried to gaslight me and say that “walk ins are random”. I said “yes I understand that but this is my body and I have to be confident of what goes on it and I changed my mind”. She was very unhappy. I walked out. I will not be going back there if this is the attitude of the store and how they treat customers.

Got my first tattoo there. Sara at the counter was awesome and made me feel welcomed. Paulie did my ink and it is outstanding! Coming back again!Update, just got my second tattoo today, now 6 months after my first. Sara immediately remember me and even Paulie to the point they even remembered the designed of my previous ink. Once again awesome job and awesome staff!

Got a septum piercing with Justin, and it was the best piercing experience I have had. He was confident and convesational, and put me at ease completely. The piercing itself took almost no time, and he was really proactive at giving advice an aftercare instructions.The cost was more than reasonable- Id have been willing to pay at least twice the amount I was charged.I didnt catch the womans name who was working the register, but she was extremely friendly and pleasant as well. The environment is neat, clean, well lit, and well maintained. Id recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat!(Be advised, they only take cash, but theres an onsite ATM.)

Justin is wonderful! I got 3 helix and my navel all done at once, and he talked me through the whole process and showed me what to do for aftercare. After I got all four, he even gave me a hug ^_^ I got them done on Saturday and today (Monday)and I cant even feel them now ^_^I was very impressed by how clean and sterile everything was. Everything was pre packaged and Justin showed me how to read an indicator strip to show that it had been ran . I am definitely going to come back! I highly recommend this place, especially after having piercings done at other locations. I can confidently say that at Blue Horseshoe I had the ideal piercing experience and Justin is now the only piercer I trust to get the job done.

Do not like the atmosphere of this shop. I came in and told them what I wanted and they automatically was telling me I couldn’t get it. The guy gave me the price black guy with bald head.. I was thinking if I wanted to pay and he told me to have a good day before I could decide. Unprofessional! Love and light.

I went in for a not so common piercing. The young woman at the customer service counter was awesome with being able to answer all my questions. She even got the piercer to come over and go over all the details and then some, I was on lunch at the time so I was unable to get it done that day. He told me his schedule and I was able to make it to him this past Wednesday to get them all. Justin was completely professional and never made me feel rushed in and out like most places. I will be going back in 6 week for a follow up and maybe Ill be getting another! Best experience I have had not only in a tattoo & piercing shop, but customer service is BETTER than Chick Fil A!!!

I went to Blue Horseshoe to get pierced by Crystal. I had a very enjoyable experience! Crystal was very professional and friendly! She is very good at what she does! Stopped in on my way from work for a the dredded septum piercing that I had been putting off for quite the while. My piercers name was Justin, he was very informative and charming. The process was much easier than I expected, painless really. It may have also been his calm demeanor as well. Either way, this lady now has a cute, discrete, shiny piece of nose jewelry that she has been putting off for way to long. The shop is very clean and all the employees I encountered were very helpful and friendly. My wait wasnt very long, so I had the opportunity to browse the individual artist books and rather large selection of jewelry before my time was there. I would recommend this establishment over others that I checked out over the weekend including one that was piercing only and couldnt be bothered to speak to me as I was standing in front of them.

Justin is an awesome piercer, very pleasant, makes you feel comfortable and really knows what hes doing .I got a second nose stud and the placement was perfect. This is my fourth time getting my nose pierced and it was by far the most comfortable. Id recommend him to anyone ❤

I reached out to Crystal on Instagram because I live in NC and I was planning a visit to see one of my friends and Crystal came highly recommended. I called the day I went in for general information especially what to do with COVID. The receptionist was extremely polite and informative. When I arrived she greeted me and then I went in and did my paperwork and she answered all my questions. Crystal came out to get me when she was ready and this beautiful woman is so cool! She explained everything to me in great detail, she demonstrated how the jewelry worked and she took sooo much time making sure my piercing was in the perfect place. I have been to the Blue Horseshoe off Mercury quite a few times to have piercings done. I also got one tattoo there.Crystal is my piercer and I wont go to anyone else but her. She is friendly, informative and professional. She makes sure her area is clean and sterile. I have pretty much both of my ears completely pierced by her except the 2 in each ear I had done when I was a teenager. She has pierced me 19 times counting both ears and I plan on going back to get a few more :). She has changed out some of my piercings like my rook and tragus that were just too difficult for me to change on my own and never acts like she doesnt want to help with any of my questions. I cant wait to see her again!I got my tattoo done from Pauly about a year and a half ago. He is a wonderful artist and I love what he did with the design I had brought in. My daughter designed the tattoo I was going to get but she made the details a bit too tiny. Pauly said he could definitely work with most of the tattoo but I already knew the tiny details would not be possible in a tattoo. He came up with his own interpretation and it was more than I could have asked for. The colors are vibrant and the tattoos is simply stunning. I get compliments on it often. I will definitely be back when I am ready to get my next one :).

Visited today on Mothers day to get a facial dermal removed. Service from start to finish was professional, courteous and prompt. The beautiful young lady who removed it, walked me through everything she was doing and you could tell she thoroughly enjoys her job and takes pride in providing exceptional quality in her work. Clean, welcoming and friendly atmosphere! Overall GREAT experience ☺️ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went up here in March and wasnt able to get a piercing, but the lady was super helpful and even informed me on issues I wasnt aware of.I went yesterday to get a few piercings and the lady at the desk was once again super helpful and justin, the piercer, was amazing. Hes super nice, funny, and relatable. Hes my favorite piercer by far and I have/had 15 others.

So I went with some friends as a birthday gift to myself and a treat for them. There were 4 of us total, and two of the ladies were sooo happy with their experience (I don’t remember who they saw. Some skinny white guy?) but myself and my other friend were stuck with the misfortune of working with Rhino. We had heard good things and were very excited. I have several tattoos, and it felt fine but the result was blurry lines and the solid parts were definitely not filled in. He was brusk, and basically ignored me the entire time, even when I was going over the design. Thankfully it was a simple design so it’ll be an easy fix. 6 months later, I’m definitely going to get this basically redone as it looks OK from a far distance but it’s just such poor quality compared to my other work. My friend was there for her first tattoo. She was nervous, but excited as Rhino was purportedly excellent at butterflies and she was getting a memorial butterfly for her dead daughter. She also has fibromyalgia. She couldn’t have been more miserable after. Not only did he completely ignore her design request, he did a much larger tattoo on her than she had wanted, again did a terrible job of filling in the solid areas, and left her in complete tears as he would not pause when her fibro flared up. She was full sobbing at the end, and ended up with a design she had not wanted. The other tattoos were stunning and lovely for the remaining 2 friends. All are healing well, it was definitely a clean environment, and it seemed a bit busy but that does not by any means excuse the rushed and shoddy workmanship. If you’re working with Rhino, he has some impressive pieces in his portfolio, but you had better be able to stand up for yourself and *make* yourself heard as he is in his own world and does not listen when working.

Took our 10 year old daughter to get her ears pierced and it was a perfect experience. She was nervous but Justin, the owner, was so calming and explained everything to her. He took his time, like we were the only thing he had to do all day, and did a perfect job. She hardly felt a thing and was so excited as we left. It was clean, everyone was friendly, and he used excellent sterile technique. Why would anyone ever take their kids to a crappy jewelry store to get that crazy gun piercing when youve got places like Blue Horshoe around?! Will definitely take our second daughter there again if/when she decides she wants her ears pierced!

Got a tattoo while back and Manager was very Un professional. It Was first tattoo and FIRST IMPRESSIONS go along way. I brought my own pic in and paid for it on a legit tattoo website and he got all kinds of bent out of shape. Said I was a liar and I didn’t pay for it. He could of easily said we can do something similar to what I wanted. But don’t be a total un professional manager. Because I can tell you this I have not recommended not one person to go there. Never go back here ever again.

My partner and I recieved 1.5 hours tattoos at a very reasonable price. The tattoos artists (Brandon Morris for my partner and Paulie Thrasher for me) were on-point with timing, precision and attentive to our personalized service.This was my second visit to the Mercury Boulevard location with excellent service.

All of the piercings on my body from head to stomach have all been by Justin, he is an amazing person, friendly, makes you feel right at home, is super clean, thoroughly explains the piercings; overall just an amazing guy! Definitely going to continue coming back for more!

I just got off work and went in for a walk in they took a few hours but thats expected cause they had to work around appointments but they got me in rino did my piece he did amazing on my tattoo it was 200 and the staff is amazing 100 percent recommend.

I have been to this shop in the past and I loved the service and that was the reason I went back.Went to get my tattoo today. Rhino was so rude to me. He acted as if I was bothering him. I had plans to get matching tattoos with my mother and sister and decided not to bring them to him. He even told me NOT LOOK AT HIM! Because he didnt liked being watched. If he hadnt already started my tattoo, I would have gotten up and left!

All the artist are friendly and know what they are doing. The piercer too, I will definitely be going back because of the artists and piercer. My piercer was Justin and tattoo artist was James i believe.(I don’t quite remember)

So the first time I came here to get a piercing ( by crystal) everything went fine. Before I left I was giving a card and told that if I come back to this same location for a replacement that I would get $5 off. 4 months later(today) I came and a girl with orange hair attended to me, she asked if I had a coupon for the $5 off and I told her all that was given to me was a white card. She told me that the coupon was on the back of the white card. So I went all the way back home to get it and gave it to her only for her to say that the card is green and not white. So I asked to speak to crystal and she said that she can’t remember everyone she’s told about the $5 off and if she did that she would’ve given me the coupon. So I was like ok forget about the coupon and was getting ready to pay the full price only for her to say that I had to pay $5 in cash. I asked for an atm and was told that the atm charged a $3 fee. Atp I was just frustrated and left. For all the inconvenience, all I got was “sorry, there’s nothing we could do.” I don’t really give reviews but crystal told me that I would get $5 off without mentioning anything about a coupon. And the girl with orange hair said that the coupon was at the back of the white card ( the reason I went home to get it and came back that same day).

I always go to Justin for piercings! But my best friend and I went to him two days in a row! Hes so professional and quick! 10/10 would recommend to ANYONE for piercings!!! Thank you so much!

Jessica is amazing!!! I took my 6yo to get her ears pierced and Jessica made her feel at ease!! She told her what to expect and told her everything as it was happening! I got my nose pierced there as well and it was super professional, quick and painless!!! When my youngest is ready for her ears to be pierced we will be back!!!

I went in today to get a dermal and Justin was awesome, he was super talkative and talented. I was worried because the last dermals I had werent done correctly but he made sure everything was straight and right before piercing me. AWESOME business! I just moved here from Portland and needed help with my rook piercing that spent 48 hours trying to close up on me. Everyone at Blue Horseshoe was super clean, professional, and knowledgeable. Everyone was friendly, kind, and informative (including the owner) from my first phone call to when I left with my perfect rook piercing.Great quality jewelry selection with tons of options. Tapered my rook piercing expertly... quick, efficient, minimally intrusive. Cleaned everything before and after. Equipment and space were as clean as a surgical room.The day before I had an unprofessional, unsanitary experience at Slamm Draggon, so it is a HUGE relief to find people at Blue Horseshoe who follow strict hygiene and sanitation protocols. Not to mention just knowing how to pierce safely and effectively. Tattoo stations looked super clean and professional too. Covid precautions were followed.I cant wait to come back for my next piercing! This place rocks... Id drive an hour+ for service like that, so even if they arent the closest shop to you, you are way better off spending the extra time for the perfect experience. I had my industrial piercing done yesterday by Justin. The shop is very clean, everything was sterilized and the piercing area is tidy. Justin, along with the other staff, are very friendly and Justin did a great job- my ear looks great and the process was virtually painless. For any future piercings, Ill definitely come back to Blue Horseshoe.

Rhino was very fast and professional. I got 2 tattoos done today and he was gentle didn’t even feel like I was getting a tattoo. I highly recommend him as will be returning to get more tattoos. It was a great experience

Went to get my chest pierced here. The service was quick and the job was almost painless. The piercer Justin did a great job not only with the job itself but also with incoming of aftercare. My only discrepancy was when I called back serval days later to ask questions, a woman rudely answered the phone, and when I began telling her my concerns she waved them off as being nothing serious and somewhat refused to help me unless I came back in, which at the time I was unable to do. I had simply called to state my concern and possibly get a few tips and pointers, but all I had recieved was disrespect and classless customer service

I love blue horseshoe!!! Went in for a left side nostril piercing after a botched right nostril piercing from slamm dragon tattoo shop (they’re horrible and unprofessional, wouldn’t recommend) and the staff was lovely and nice. My overall experience was great and Leslie the piercer was extremely clean and professional. I would give 10 stars if I could!!! Highly recommend blue horseshoe for piercings!!!!

Walked in with an idea on May 13th, 2022 at their Hampton location. Had a picture i had pulled from the internet as a starting point. The artist was out to eat, so I waited for about 40 minutes. When he returned, he called me up and asked for my club card to qualify that I was entitled to wear that particular art on my body. I didnt really like that, but presented it anyway (Ive never had to present that card to anyone EXCEPT for club business). He inspected it not really knowing what to look for except for my name and affiliation. Then he told me the picture I gave him was a bad idea and insulted my existing tattoos. I got on my motorcycle and went up the road and the artist there worked with me and did an AWESOME job. I gave him a well deserved $200 tip. Ill never go back to Blue Horsehoe! That particular artist should be fired. Horrible customer service.

Took my friend in to get his first tattoo and called ahead, was told we had to be there in person to get on the waitlist. Drove an hour just to be put on the list then waited another 4 hours to be told that I had to wait outside until he was done and I couldn’t be with him to see him get the tattoo because of covid. I don’t mind waiting, especially since it’s a walk-in tattoo but very disappointing that we weren’t told ahead of time while they knew that we came together. Meanwhile all of the employees weren’t wearing masks, there were multiple people waiting inside and sitting with their friends and family watching their tattoos get done, and no one was wearing a mask. The entire time the employees were very rude and dismissive from the moment we walked in to ask to get a tattoo, til we walked out. The covid excuse was hypocritical, if it really was such an issue then every employee should be wearing a mask and there should be a sign at the door asking customers to wear masks and that they are limiting their capacity so we don’t waste our time next time. I don’t plan on coming here again.

I dont normally write reviews for any company, but Blue Horseshoe Tattoo deserves my time! I cant say enough good things about this shop. They are friendly, reasonable prices, very patient, clean, and go above and beyond to help the customer. I was helped by both Crystal and Justin. Because of them I would recommend everyone to go to this shop and I am a customer for life. Great experience!

I had my ear lobes re-pierced today. The holes had closed up after getting them pierced 30 years ago and me not wearing any earrings the last few years. The staff was friendly and informative. Justin Merritt did the piercings for me. He took enough time to listen to what I wanted and to make sure where he marked my ears for piercing looked symmetrical. Everything was very clean and I would recommend needle piercing over gun piercing to anyone. It is much safer and it didnt hurt nearly as much as gun piercing. I was a walk-in customer and did not have to wait very long at all.

I went in yesterday for a helix piercing. I was pierced by Crystal, and she was awesome! They have a nice selection of jewelry, including stuff by Neometal and Anatometal. Thats really nice for people that are sensitive to jewelry and need good titanium pieces. I got a 3 jewel cluster piece (Anatometal), and Crystal took the time to make sure it went in a good spot in my ear, and also that the back would not hit my glasses. She was super friendly and good at what she does!As far as the building, it was very nice, and very well lit! Some places like this are kind of dark and uninviting, but not here. They did an awesome job! Definitely recommend!!

This was my second time going to this shop and I went to RHINO both times. The first time I went, I asked him for color and he said he would give me color, but did not do so. Also with this tattoo I can still feel it and you’re not suppose to feel a tattoo, so that means he went to deep into my skin. The second time I went, he was rude. It was like he was rushing me, which he was. The picture I showed him for my tattoo is definitely not what I got, I understand not copying other artists, but it has nothing that I really wanted. There is no detail and that’s what I asked for. Also my lines aren’t straight and I still have to get it shaded even more. Definitely not happy with it, so I definitely will not be going back.

I have brought two family members here to get piercings and they have both been super happy. I kinda hate that they are cash only. I respect their right to do it but I dont like it

First off, I have never gotten a tattoo here and probably never will.However, this is absolutely my place to go for piercing. Justin is extremely nice, professional, obviously very hygiene conscious. He is very particular to tell you where and where not the piercing is going to work and look best for your body. He talks to you through out the actual piercing process so you are very nicely distracted. Ive gotten an industrial, tragus, and cartilage piercing all done from him over the past couple years, and have always been impressed with his work. Ill always go back to Justin!

I walked in roughly a week ago, when I first walked in I was met by the piercer who was super unprofessional. She was mad because she had to go to the dentist and she could of asked me to come back instead of giving me the worst customer service. She then pierced my nose with a stud twice the size of a standard stud ( Ive had my nose pierced once) and on top of that she did it crooked. I went to another shop to get it fixed because it was embarrassing having the biggest stud on my face. In order to fix it they had to put a second hole on my nose because the one I got here was so crooked the normal studs couldnt get through. I will NEVER recommend this place and I am super unhappy about every aspect of my trip and the fact I had to fork out even MORE money all because she was upset she had to go to the dentist. The worst part was every single shop I called said going here was my first mistake, wish I knew that before I wasted 31$ on a stud thats bigger then any piercing Ive ever seen and took up over half my nose and 9$ on a solution just to pay another 50$ for someone to do it the right way.

I LOVE Jessica! Got my 4th holes and cartilage done today and even thought it hurt like h3ll, she didnt laugh at all! Haha! She was so sweet and answered all of my silly questions. She even took extra steps when I had concerns about issues that dont even exist...anxiety at its finest! If you are going to get pierced, Jessica is THE woman to go to in Hampton Roads!

The receptionist was very friendly and patient also informative. Also Jemica is the best piercer in the 757 Im told and she proved it. Social distant guidelines suck but the quality if work is worth the wait.

I cant speak for their tattoo abilities but their piercing staff (Justin and Crystal) are the best in the 7 cities, by a large margin. Ive had well over 25 piercings done by Justin and Crystal and I love each one. I bring all of my friends there and even had my daughers ears pierced there. Every expirence there have been an amazing one.

Got a tattoo done here & loved it! Jimmy (I believe) did mine and he was fantastic. I’m only leaving 3 starts however because my friend got her first tattoo done here the same day and the tattoo artist completely missed a word in her tattoo!! As her first tattoo, I’m sure she’s pretty upset and traumatized. My other friend was also planning on getting a tattoo by the same artist but opted out because of his rude attitude & disinterested demeanor. This isn’t the first time we’ve come to talk about getting tattooed and every time his attitude has been the same, so this is an occurring problem. Needless to say I’ll still be returning but strongly wouldn’t recommend whoever did hers.
