Fantastic experience! Had a piece done on my upper arm by Kinsey and I love it. The process was super easy from initially contacting her to final ink on skin. The studio itself is superb. Clean, comfortable, and super cool. Kinsey was a delight to work with. Super easy to talk to. I brought a bag full of stuff to pass the time and didnt use any of it. We ended up just talking for the whole 6-hour session. Overall, a perfect experience and if/when I have more work done, it will definitely be here.

Kinsey created my beautiful watercolor cat tattoo. She went beyond my wildest imagination and created a piece of art. I look forward to other tattoos I hope to have created by her. Truly a wonderful person and artist. The shop was also amazing and comfortable.Katie also exceeded all my hopes and expectations for my Flareon tattoo. She was personable and took the time to understand what I wanted for my tattoo. I cannot wait to the full leg sleeve come together from our ideas.

Had a great first visit to review ideas for my tattoo. Andrea was great matching her style to what I wanted. We had a good talk and came up with two designs (went in for one) I am planning on getting. The studio is very nice and all the artists had smiles on their faces.Update. We got the first one completed and love it. She was great to talk to over the time it took to get the tattoo completed. I am very happy to be wearing her work. Really looking forward to the next one in a couple weeks. I recommend her and love her style of artwork.

I can’t thank Kinsey enough for turning the piece I had in my mind into a beautiful work of art! She took my visual cues of what I had in mind and created a stunning forearm piece for me! Her skill and detail in watercolor tattoos is absolutely unmatched! I’ve put off writing this review for months because there aren’t words to describe how much I love my tattoo & how amazing John is.John did a beautiful, 4.5 hour floral design on my hip. I have one small tattoo (~15 minutes of tattooing) prior. I was so worried about sitting for the piece, but John made it a breeze. He did such a good job of easing me into it, and the pain was very manageable.Honestly, there’s not a single part of this experience that I didn’t love. His artwork is amazing. The studio is clean & calming - he had instrumental music playing and plants lining the walls. He was so kind & patient - an absolute joy to talk to during the tattoo.I’m not from the area; I drove a few hours for the piece and I would happily travel to Baltimore every time for the chance to work with him again. The tattoo & the experience is absolutely worth it.Moving forward, John is the only tattoo artist I will ever see.

I got tattooed by John at Tattooed Heart Studios and between the four shops I have been to so far, my experience here has been the best by far. John was very kind and professional - talking me through the whole process from helping me with the sizing and placement that will fit best to warning me about the ouchie spots so I wouldnt be caught off guard when he tattooed the wrist. He is very passionate about his work and it shows. I highly recommend this shop and will definitely be back to get more tattoos by John!

Super friendly people. Amazingly clean (and gorgeous) shop. And excellent customer service. Kinsey was so kind and understanding when it came to my tattoo and was incredibly kind throughout the whole appointment! Her work is beautiful and I am very happy with the tattoo I got from her. I emailed Katie and asked if she could do a jumping spider holding light sabers. And she delivered. Darth Derek is my favorite tattoo and I get a lot of compliments on it. I can’t wait to travel back to MD for my next tattoo from Katie!

Andrea was just absolutely amazing. I let her have total control of the design and she nailed it. She did research to make a detailed and special tattoo. I didn’t know you could blend colors like she did. 20/10 would recommend. The whole shop is clean, and all of the artist are very talented. Hands down recommend this shop.

I was tattooed by Kinsey earlier this year.She made me feel comfortable right from the moment I arrived at the studio and the time with her flew by.The studio is super pretty and clean.Kinsey‘s art on my body is beautiful! Both tattoos (we did two in one day) are very unique and just amazing. I am getting so many positive reactions to them!I would definitely recommend the studio and especially Kinsey and would love to have more of her art on my body one day.

I travelled from New York to get tattooed by Andrea Jensen at Tattooed Heart Studios this past weekend, and I was so incredibly floored by the experience. The staff was so incredibly kind and welcoming. Andrea did such a stellar job with my tattoo (picture attached!) Her attention to detail and cleanliness as well as her gorgeous artwork made for my best tattoo experience yet! I will most definitely be back and have recommended the studio and Andrea to many friends already!

I took several months researching various tattoo shops and artists work and landed at Tattooed Heart Studios. Clean lines in a particular style were very important to me. I had a custom design completed by John and he was so great to work with. He responded in a timely manner consistently through out the process. He provided my design before my appointment, which was also really important to me. He made me feel comfortable despite this being my first tattoo and his design and execution were top notch. I am so proud of this tattoo, I cant stop looking at it 😁. He is a phenomenal tattoo artist and I highly recommend him, you wont regret it. Thank you John!

BEWARE: the artists of Tattooed Heart have too much integrity to simply give the client what they want. I had an appointment set for 2 months (technically for tomorrow 5/17) when this past Sunday, artist Andrea Jensen finally sent me some mock ups that did not fit the description of what I wanted whats so ever. I wanted a skull with remembrance poppies flooding out of it, stretching across the top of my chest. What I got was an attempt to cover up a tattoo I wanted recolored with a giant black raven. We went back and forth, the entire time getting new mock ups that did not feature what I wanted at all, either by covering up my sparrow or not touching it. After it was clear to me that Jensen simply did not want to recolor my existing sparrow (although she did not come right out and say it) she spouted off about neither of us should have to compromise. Compromise what? Im paying you over 1000 dollars to give me what I want. Im paying you because I believe you are so good I want to carry your art on my body forever. This wasnt just some random tattoo I wanted on a whim, this was a large missing piece to my puzzle and now that I have wasted two months of my time, a deposit fee, and the trust needed to feel comfortable with putting such a huge piece on my body, I am more depressed than ever. Im going to have to wait even longer now to feel complete. Im going to have to wait even longer for an artist who will work with me instead of trying to cover up work that isnt theirs. DO NOT GO HERE IF: you want someone elses emblem (Example: anything by artist Jared Gaines), animal paw pads, or anything that doesnt give the artists of Tattooed Heart Studios 100% freedom to create and certainly dont tell them you dont like what theyve drawn. Thanks for nothing, Andrea, but good for not compromising your artistic integrity.

Working with Kinsey to complete a sleeve and so glad I found her! The shop itself is representative of each artist’s eclectic styles, has on display a multitude of impressive art, and is so clean. Kinsey maintained a professional attitude while keeping the session light-hearted and hilarious. The hours flew by. Going back for second and final session to wrap things up and looking forward to hanging with Kinsey again. Highly recommend!

I had a wonderful experience at this studio being tattooed by Amber. The space is super freaking cool! Very clean, lots of privacy, respectful, professional, and super comfy. Her work came out beautifully (I received one of her wanna dos) and Im so happy I have her art on me forever. When I decide the next thing I want (or she posts the next thing I want) I will be back! Also heard great things from friends about other artists at this studio. Highly recommend.

Beautiful shop, great atmosphere and Kinsey is the best abstract artist. Asked for a light but bold full sleeve to balance a very dark/heavy surrealist sleeve. Gave a few generalisms of my likes and gave her full control to design and it turned out absolutely amazing.Collected amazing art from an amazing person! If you are bold, giving her full control will yield an AMAZING piece!

Ive been coming here a few years now and have been getting inked by Amber. Phenomenal every time and the quality of the shop and the tattoos has only been getting better with time.Im queer and disabled so theres a lot of anxiety around getting tattoos. Amber and the other artists do everything they can to make the shop open, comfortable, and offer privacy to whatever level you need. They also walk you through what to expect and what step theyre on which is very helpful. If you have mobility issues there might be some struggles going up the flight of stairs to the studio, but otherwise it is not challenging getting around.Booking wasnt hard as I follow their Instagram accounts and they are very transparent on when books are open and how they process requests. They are worth every penny and once I have more I plan on going back and seeing how all the artists there can help me check off some items from my to be inked list.

Amber is amazing!! Great conversation and amazing tattooing. Ive had three sessions here and cant wait to come again. The studio is spotless and the tattoo experience feels nice and private with each artist having their own room. By far my favorite studio to come to, and couldnt recommend it enough.

Amazing studio. I got my tattoo done by Amber and she is phenomenal. The whole studio is clean and beautiful. All the artists have pictures or paintings up that really allow them to express themselves. During a break, all the artists brought the canvasses together and we all had a quick little nerd out session with all the tattoos happening. It was amazing. Im already trying to get more work done here. Highly recommend

All around excellent experience. This is my fourth tattoo, each at different studios - I spent 12 hours getting my tattoo at Tattooed Heart Studios and by far this is the most chill, clean, and talented places Ive ever been to!Booking/Setup: First off, you book with your artist and discuss ahead of time, so no walk-ins. While that sounds a bit frustrating at first, it really gave my artist time to dedicate her attention specifically to me. It also means that you get to book well in advance which means the studio isnt jam packed as if youre going to a tattoo convention every time you walk in the door -- or that the artist that you want isnt there when you show up.Atmosphere: The studio has plenty of privacy and each artist gets their own space so you arent hiding your bits behind a paper wall or having to be out on the open floor while everyone is walking around. The vibe in the studio feels like the exact opposite of a shop where its mostly apprentice artists working - its very clear from the moment you walk in that youre hanging out with practiced, high end tattoo artists who when you talk to them are some of the most interesting and chill people to chat with! The artists will be up front and ACCURATE with you on price and how many sessions youll need, and their prices are well worth it.Art with Kinsey Roehm: Now onto the actual art. My experience was absolutely delightful! I requested a piece from Kinsey Roehm. Despite me over-explaining my idea and writing her I think 3 paragraphs worth of information, she was able to piece together the finer details and give me something that was truly unique, absolutely gorgeous, and BETTER than what I was envisioning. Kinsey is clearly an extremely capable and dynamic artist. The piece she created for me had a lot of abstract elements, I chose her because of her beautiful brush stroke and watercolor style tattoos in her portfolio. Her blending of colors is flawless. Another huge benefit is that Kinsey doesnt have a heavy hand! Which means little to no scar tissue after your tattoo heals, and it doesnt feel BRUISED while youre healing. While it might not be important to a lot of people, having experienced heavy handed artists, it can really suck. On top of the art being so good that Im already planning my next piece with Kinsey, it was so comfortable in the studio and with Kinsey to just hang out and chat about everything and nothing that the sessions didnt feel at all like they were 6 hours long! They went by so fast!Recommendation: So between the atmosphere, the vibe, the amazing artists, their ability to engage with their clients to give them exactly what they want, plus making you truly enjoy being in the studio -- I absolutely recommend Tattoed Heart Studios and ESPECIALLY Kinsey Roehms beautifully stunning work!

Tattooed Heart Studios is amazing! It is a clean and professional atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive. I have several tattoos done from them and they have been very accommodating and creative throughout the whole process. I love everything I have had done from them and will continue to go back for all my tattoo needs. Meredith did the latest work and she did an awesome job working with me on what I wanted and how to fit it on the piece I already had. Im really happy and impressed by the final product .

I got a pre drawn tattoo done by John. It is my favorite tattoo I have gotten so far. He did a great job and was super accommodating so that I could have two consecutive day sessions to have my tattoo finished. He is super nice and the shop is extremely clean. The music was great, and I was able to take plenty of breaks for snack, water, etc. I am definitely planning on going back to have more pieces done by him. Overall, I would recommend John to anyone who is looking for a tattoo artist.

Tattooed Heart Studios was absolutely amazing, John was great to work with and an awesome host. This was my first tattoo. I was nervous before I arrived but once I got there, he made me feel more comfortable. He took a simple idea and turned it into a beautiful piece of artwork. The other artists were very nice as well. I will definitely be going back to add to my canvas. The atmosphere was very relaxed and welcoming. Refreshments were offered and I felt very comfortable. It was VERY clean and organized in there and the artists displayed their other artwork very professionally.

Top of the line. Its like when art meets medicine. The gallery is not only clean, but the area where the actual work gets done is basically like a doctors or dentists office, not some barber shop.Kinsey is also very friendly. I didnt even realize by the time we were done. Would recommend it to anyone. The shop itself has a variety of specialists last time I was there something for everyone.

I had my first session with John yesterday, and I am thrilled with my tattoo. It is an absolute work of art. The studio is easy to find, and spotlessly clean and welcoming. Tattooed hearts studio is the best studio to get tattooed at. If I could give them 10 stars I definitely would! The studio is super clean and beautifully designed! Not only that but the atmosphere is very serene and welcoming. My artist Natalie Seki is amazing! I’ve been seeing Natalie ever since I can remember. I’ve always had a positive experience whenever I go! I’m always greeted at the door and welcomed all the time whenever I have an appointment with her. She’s such a talented artist and a master of her art. I always get compliments on the pieces I’ve gotten with her! She always takes her time and makes sure the placement & size is exactly where you want to get. Her hospitality and customer service is out of this world. I trust Natalie and I can’t stressed enough how great she is! And I’m 100% sure that all the artists at tattooed hearts are also amazing! The best tattoo experience Ive had. Ive had three pieces done by Paul Natale and each turned out perfect. Hes extremely talented and I intend to continue to return to him for any future pieces. Hes very down to earth and makes the whole experience fun. The rest of the staff are super friendly and the shop is very clean. The studio manager, Bryce, is always helpful when setting up consults and is especially fun to talk to while there. Definitely a shop I would suggest to anyone who wants quality work and an enjoyable experience while doing it.

Tattooed Heart Studios is the only place in MD that I trust for my ink! If you want custom high quality ART, this is your place! I appreciate how much time, energy, and care that the artists put in to designing their pieces. The pieces are so unique and badass, and I know that I wont see it anywhere else. So far, Ive gotten 3 tattoos from here (by Amy, Natalie, and Amber) and Ive gotten so many compliments on all of them. Ive enjoyed working with Amy and Natalie on my custom pieces. Yes the wait to get into their books may be a few months, but I can guarantee you, IT IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT. The vibe of the entire studio is professional but also energetic, fun, and positive. Getting my tattoo done here feels like a day at the spa. I highly recommend checking out all of the talented artists here - each of them have their own unique style.

I went to Tattooed Heart for my two tattoos over the past three years or so. All of my experiences have been wonderful. The shop is clean and has a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Someone always greets you right away when you come in (and Ive accidentally walked in ten minutes before they opened!). Both of my tattoos have been done by John, the shop owner, and hes always great to work with. He did my very first tattoo in a couple of hours, then my next one took two sessions for outline and color. When he gets started, he really moves, too! Im always one hundred percent satisfied with our discussions online, over the phone, and in person about design and the choices he gives me for mock ups. I was also grateful for all the advice and instructions for after-care that John gave me, especially after I got my very first tattoo. Ive spoken to a couple of other employees and Ive seen their work, and they are killer (looking at you, Amy and Paul). I always recommend Tattooed Heart Studios to everyone looking into getting work done. Hopefully Ill be seeing them soon. You guys rock!

I just had my first session at Tattoo Heart and would never go anywhere else. The shop is clean and everyone that works there is incredibly nice and personable. My artist was Amy and I cant say enough positive stuff about her or her work. My first session lasted about 4 hours and we had a great time the whole time she was working on me. Shes so nice and down to earth. Worked very well with me on my ideas and offered her artistic side to help me see things better so I would get the best tattoo possible.The outline of my tattoo is finished and it looks AMAZING. Ive gotten so many compliments on it and its not even finished yet. It puts my other tattoos to shame.I would never go anywhere else.

I scheduled an appointment with Meredith. She has such a great attitude and is very friendly. First of all, let me just say, this is the BEST tattoo shop I have ever been to. Walking up the stairs you can feel the sophistication of this place. I love the fact that they have each artists portraits displayed. The rooms are awesome too. Pretty high tech. With the flip of a switch, the windows at each station turn from see through to frosted, which adds privacy. I love the whole atmosphere here and Merediths work is amazing. She had a vision that she brought to life perfectly. Everyone LOVES my enhanced piece. I cant wait to get started on our next project! ♥♥♥

I see Meredith and its an awesome experience every time Im there. She is super professional with consulting and then so laid back when it comes time to tattoo, which always makes me feel more than comfortable. I went to see her for a tattoo a few days after my grandmother passed away and she was so kind and comforting and it was a positive moment in all that chaos that really sticks out to me. But most importantly, her work is AMAZING. I have a lot of tattoos, but hers always get the most compliments. The shop is clean and modern and great, but Meredith really makes it for me! Go see her!

Ive had the pleasure of being tattooed in several shops in Maryland, and Tattooed Heart is by far the most impressive. The location is gorgeous and big- very clean, welcoming, and easy to relax in. I worked with Andrea Jensen- Andrea was professional and very easy to work with. Shes an incredible artist and creates really wonderful pieces specifically designed to make her clients happy. Everyone is complimenting my bee tattoo everywhere I go and I cant stop recommending her!

I could not have had a better experience at Tattooed Heart!! Every artist that works here is extremely friendly and qualified. My appointment was with John (the owner) for his Mandala Meditations series. His work was extremely gentle and he really took his time to make sure the tattoo was perfect. The five hours flew by with all of the great conversation! I have referred several people here in the past week since I got my tattoo and they have been so inspired by mine they already have appointments as well. You cant go wrong with this studio. I had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Natalie this past weekend. I was so happy to finally make it in after a few months of waiting, planning, and prepping. Natalies work is impeccable and she gets in the absolute zone when tattooing. She is a master of this craft and I would highly recommend letting her guide the way in a tattoo. I love my piece and Im so happy she was flexible and accommodating in bringing my new piece to life.The location itself is a bit funky and out of the way, but the extra drive is worth it. I drove in from Philadelphia and I was happy to not have the extra hassle of parking. The rooms are personal, private, and comfortable. They have snacks on hand and generally a nice overall ambiance. I would highly recommend this studio!!

UPDATE: Back at tattooed heart studios for another amazing piece by John! From the moment I scheduled my appointment, John kept in contact with me as we bounced ideas back and forth. I came to John with a few different ideas and he was able to create an amazing design that fit my body & personality perfectly. We also incorporated a mandala that he tattooed for me a few years ago. John did an amazing job at tying both pieces together and making the entire tattoo flow with my body! His private room provides a calm and tranquil environment that helps in creating a peaceful experience. John is extremely patient, easy to work with, and makes sure you are comfortable throughout the entire process.The studio itself is beautiful, clean, private, and holds a great atmosphere. All of the artists are extremely friendly and interested in each other’s work. I could not be happier with my experience at THS and will definitely be back again!Wonderful experience at tattooed heart studios! I got to work with John for his evening mandala project and could not be happier with the result. From beginning to end John was extremely professional and easy to work with. Went in for my first tattoo yesterday and couldnt have been more impressed with every step of the way. The facilities are absolutely immaculate with a huge space filled with artwork and portfolios. Everyone on staff is incredibly talented and super friendly. My artist, Amber, was SPECTACULAR. She was great to talk to the whole way through, created an amazing design, and her technical work is unbelievably sharp.Id absolutely recommend that anyone in search of a place to go to check them out. Not sure what else you could possibly offer that they dont!

I’ve gotten three (soon to be four) tattoos done at Tattooed Heart Studios. After some negative prior experiences at other tattoo parlors, I was very hesitant for years to get another tattoo. I stumbled upon Andrea Jensen’s Instagram and immediately fell in love with her work. Once I met her at a consult, I was immediately sold and have brought my partner and friends to her for many tattoos and will continue to go to this studio for pieces for years to come. Andrea is a deeply kind, incredibly creative, talented, and authentic artist. She is true to her style, but I have seen her grow so much even just over the last year and widen her horizons to include such beautiful and diverse pieces. I can’t say this loudly enough - if your ideas are complimentary to her visions and style, you will not be disappointed by the time and care she puts into creating something one of a kind that’s even better than what you could imagine. I would literally let her tattoo anything on me blindfolded because I know the quality of her work. Everyone at the studio is incredibly unique in style, and they have all been warm and welcoming to me every time I come in. I hope to eventually get other art from artists in the studio. The vibe at the studio is the best experience by far. I would highly recommend Tattooed Heart and, in particular, Andrea Jensen to anyone.

Tattooed Heart Studios is beautiful. It is spotless and very private. I can not say enough great things about my tattoo experience here. I was tattooed by John, who created my design. I received a warm welcome and a full consultation upon arrival by John. I was thoroughly educated on my tattoo aftercare before leaving, walking out with the healing product that I needed. The energy in this studio and in Johns work (even under the gun) was soothing. Awesome vibes from other artists here. Such a unique and professional experience, Tattooed Heart Studios will far exceed any expectation you have when looking for an artist and studio.

I guess its time for me to get off my keister and write some nice fancy words already! This is THE place to go if you want some unique and jaw dropping work done. Everyone there is super chill and down to earth. Im always blown away by how they can take all them stabbie needles and make art that everyone can appreciate. I love getting tattoos with Katie, who makes the whole process from scheduling to sitting just the smoothest, she also has an excellent playlist. The shop is very clean and has terrific vibes-- especially around Halloween.

Tattooed Heart is the best shop I have been too thus far. Its beautiful and very inviting. Everyone on staff are all super friendly down to earth and chill people. Ive been going to see their apprentice, now artist, Meredith for a few months now and she is amazing. Shes obviously had a good group of people to learn from. Its been a lot of fun getting to know her and watching her grow in her craft. I now have four pieces by her and plan on many many more.

I have a lot of tattoos and I have been to many tattoo studios but Tattooed Heart really stands out in my opinion. The shop is super clean and has a great vibe. You can tell that all of the artists care deeply for their studio and you can see their little touches throughout. I had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Andrea and it was a wonderful experience. Andrea took my very basic idea for a tattoo and created something that was better than anything I could have imagined. The absolute BEST tattoo studio! I’ve had tattoos done by both John and Kinsey. Both artists have an amazing portfolio. I was there today to work on finishing up my half sleeve with Kinsey, and once again, she’s done amazing. She took something that I had floating around in my head and brought it to life. She’s a sweet, down to Earth, overall good person. THS is my go-to studio, and I won’t go anywhere else. The studio is clean, organized, and welcoming. I can’t thank both John and Kinsey enough for the artwork they’ve tattooed on me over the years. It’s a tough decision to decide on who to get for your tattoos, but you won’t be disappointed if you choose Tattooed Heart Studios. A++.

After sitting 14 hours, I am so incredibly pleased with Amy Nicholls work of art! It was more than just a tattoo-- it was a tattoo experience. Amy is an incredible artist and an amazing person. It was an absolute pleasure getting to know her. Her attention to detail, communication, and passion for her work is top shelf!This is my second tattoo from @tattooedheartstudios and its one of the best studios Ive ever seen. Natalie Seki is an incredible tattoo artist. My experience exceeded all my original expectations. Natalie was engaged and invested with all my needs through my 7hr session. I am not a trusting person, however, I am so glad I went with her recommendations. The art came out beautiful and everybody constantly tells me how they love my tattoo. I would definitely come here again... And! I must say this studio sets an extremely high bar that few can follow. Amazing studio & amazing experience! The first thing that struck me when I walked into Tattooed Heart Studio was the beautiful design and clean space. Secondly, meeting John and talking about the design of my soon to be tattoo was a great experience. He is a wonderful person and extremely talented in his craft. The attention to details, the colors, the design, everything is just so perfect! I described to Amy what I wanted in the tattoos and she created beautiful art. Every process of the tattoo from scheduling a consult to the finished product was handled professionally. Amy made me feel comfortable and was very accommodating during the tattoo session. I used the Hush numbing gel and foam that is sold there and I felt it helped a lot! The studio is so clean and attractive and everyone that works there is friendly too. BEST SHAVE IN TOWNI had two days of work done with John.Hes not the cheapest, but we can argue that good tattooing isnt cheap and the inverse of that claim. . .But there was more to his studio and operation that I couldnt easily find anywhere else and added value to the cost.First off was cleanliness. He was unquestionably attentive in that detail.Secondly was privacy. The studio location is remote and getting an appointment has to be done through emails. Initially I just wanted a quick understanding and quote, but once we were working on the tattoo, I was very thankful for not being interrupted or having strangers in the studio.The third thing is follow-through. From design and prep, through healing, I know I can contact John with any issues and concerns.Simply put, youre not just paying for the hours it takes him to put ink on skin.You have him for the whole day.Hes going to do it right.. . . and its a tattoo,so there is no going back.

Getting tattooed by Amy at Tattooed Heart was my best tattoo experience to date! Despite the fact that I was going to a new shop (an intimidating experience for me) and was going for my largest piece yet, I felt totally at ease throughout the whole process. During our consultation Amy was positive, enthusiastic, and clearly invested in creating a piece of art that would be true to her style and would incorporate all of the details that I wanted. Even after the consult she kept me updated with her sketching progress, and I was lucky enough to see the final image even before I came into the studio. As a client I felt very involved in the process and like my input was really valuable to Amy.Although I didnt get to see the original studio, the new Tattooed Heart on Coca Cola Dr is just stunning! There are several tattooing spaces which can be made private by clouding/unclouding the glass, which is great as it creates visual privacy without cutting you off from the rest of the studio (we were able to chat with/hear the other artists throughout the session.) As someone with social anxiety, this was the ideal setup for me--having access to others will still having a more private space in which to actually get the tattoo. Im also the kind of person who dreads getting a haircut because of all the awkward chit chat, but in the entire four hours that I sat for this tattoo I never once felt uncomfortable or like there was nothing to say. Amy is extremely friendly and full of fun stories, a very open person who clearly wanted me to have as much fun getting the tattoo as she had giving it. The conversation was a really welcome distraction from the pain, which she also coached me through when I found myself wearing down from the long session. I felt cared for as a client and a person--just couldnt be happier with the experience.And, of course, my gorgeous shoulder piece looks amazing. Im two days into the healing process and its coming along really nicely, with minimal soreness even on the first night. I cant recommend Amy or Tattooed Heart enough--both my ideas and my body were taken care of, and I had such a fun time that I cant wait until I have the opportunity to go back!

I really like Tattoo Heart, I dont give top ratings easily or feel the need to review things in general. The shop is clean and inviting. Bryce at the front desk is extremely professional.....until he has a good idea of your personality then hes the funny friend you havent seen in years. The art work is top notch and each artist has a different style so one of them is capable of designing exactly what you want. Ive seen pieces from John, Tory, Amy and Paul up close and in person and all of them were stunning. Ive been to other shops over the years and none of them compare to Tattoo Hearts professionalism or atmosphere.

Prior to getting this tattoo done (3rd one) I made sure i did a lot of research on shops within a 2 hour radius of where i live. The tattoo i was getting done was a very difficult piece that required a tremendous amount of creativity from the artists. I was lucky enough to find Tattooed Heart Studios and get a fantastic Tattoo. John, the owner, was very professional, and full of great ideas. He took the time to identify exactly what i wanted out of this tattoo, and he nailed it. Not only is the tattoo great, but the company atmosphere of the shop is fantastic. You walk in, and its like you are in a different world. The shop is cleaner than any place else you have ever been. I am already working with John on finishing my sleeve. I cannot recommend these people enough.

I have been going to Tattooed Heart for several years and I am always happy to recommend them to anyone! John has drawn and tattooed 3 unique pieces on me and I regularly get compliments on his artwork. The studio is clean and professional and very artistic. Everyone I have met at the studio has been very friendly with a positive attitude. John has worked with me on budget limitations and I really appreciated that. I dont know where to begin. This studio is next level quality. It is a top notch private studio that is impeccably clean and has a beautifully calm and comfortable vibe. I love how private the studio is (appointment only) and the shop owner, John, truly respects and appreciates every client that walks in the door. I just had my first session with John and it was unreal how awesome he was! He had a last minute opening and in 2 days we set up an appointment. The process was easy and he was willing to answer any and all questions. From only two or three emails he managed to capture exactly what I was looking for and I LOVE the artwork he did for me. After this experience I dont think Ill be able to go anywhere else. It is just impossible to beat. I dont give recommendations lightly but this place and John have definitely earned the highest level of recommendation! Cant wait to go back for my second session to finish my tattoo!

All of the artist have the experience to be confident in their styles and are honest enough say if your project does not fit their strengths. The whole staff was down to earth and were genuinely interested in the projects each artist was working on.I had the pleasure of getting my tattoo done by Amy Nicholls. Her talent is obvious when you review her portfolio, but the other half of the experience is the artist themselves. Amy is a soulful person who has a profound connection with her clients. She was able to take my four different concepts and weave them into a fine tapestry that now covers my left arm.Sadly, I am done getting any new work for the near future but I look forward to following the future projects from Amy and the rest of the Tattooed Heart crew.

I recently got my first color tattoo here by Andrea Jensen. The shop is gorgeous and clean, the staff is friendly and the quality is incredible. Andrea is extremely kind and accommodating. She listened to all my concerns and was extremely flexible with scheduling. Her use of color is amazing and I couldnt be happier with my new ink.

So far I have gotten three tattoos from Tattooed Heart, two from Paul, and one from Amy. I had an amazing experience every time, as they were able to make the tattoos look better than I had imagined possible. The tattoo that I got from Amy was also a cover-up, and she managed to hide the one tattoo I had that Id gotten from a different studio expertly. Everybody there is very friendly, professional, and fun to chat with. I spent a few days reading reviews on every medium before deciding on Tattooed Heart back in March, and the time was not wasted, Im very happy with this studio, and plan to continue to use them in the future.

My experience with Andrea Jensen at Tattooed Heart Studios changed how I live my life.I had been thinking about a scar cover up for over 10 years but was scared and didn’t know how I wanted it to look. Andrea worked with me to create something meaningful and beautiful while making sure I was comfortable through the entire process, both during the design and sitting through two sessions. I can’t imagine a better (or cleaner!) experience for my first tattoo.I now have the confidence to show my arms in public. I receive tons of complements. People don’t believe me when I tell them it’s a cover up.Working with Andrea made me feel like I can move forward rather than have my appearance holding me back. Ive wanted a tattoo for years but was so reluctant. I followed a number of artists on Instagram and finally decided to take the plunge with Andrea. She did a pet portrait for me during the 2017 holiday season and when I finally decided what tattoo I wanted in 2018, she seemed like a great option for me. I contacted her via email and set up a consultation. I was hesitant at first, driving into an office park seemed like a strange place for a tattoo studio. But my hesitancy was quickly calmed when I walked into the place. Its a lovely, clean, modern studio. Each artist has their own individual studio within the shared space. The studios are glass but equipped a cool feature, flip a switch and the glass is frosted for privacy. Each artist also has artwork for sale so you really get an idea of the depth of artistry these folks have - its not just all on skin. I liked meeting Andrea first and having a chance to see the place before proceeding. We discussed what I wanted, placement, color etc. I gave her a deposit and schedule a 3 hour tattoo appt for several weeks later. In between the consultation and the day of tattoo, i contacted her via email several times with questions. Always very responsive and reassuring. On the day of we once again discussed placement of the art shed drafted for me. She thoroughly explained each step in the process and I feel like by the end of the session I not only had a lovely tattoo but a new friend. Andrea is fantastic and the other artists in this studio seem wonderful too. I highly recommend Tattooed Heart Studios.

I just got tattooed by John at Tattooed Heart Studios and cant say enough great things about my experience with him and the studio itself. This was my second session with Kinsey and it went very well. The studio has just reopened after being closed due to the general Covid lockdowns, and they have implemented a few additional precautions to protect both staff and customers, but even before these uncertain times, safety and cleanliness has always been a priority at the studio. Her work is again amazing and my wife is likely to look into booking a session for herself once the pre lockdown backlog of appointments have been taken care of by the artist. I would strongly recommend anyone looking to get a well done tattoo look at her portfolio.

Artist: I need to start off by mentioning how skilled, experienced and overall amazing my artist was. Paul Natale has over 15 years of experience and made my first tattoo beautiful. He not only does great work, but he is able to cater to those who are new to the world of tattoos. He worked hard and long to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be seeking him out for future projects.2. The parlor: The parlor was clean, professional and relaxing. The fact that they offered drinks and snacks really sustained me through my session, and they all make you feel like youre a regular, even on your first visit. You do not have to worry about any mishaps in such a well-established parlor.3. Overall experience : Getting a tattoo for the first time I have nothing to compare this to, but the staff was down-to-earth and easy to talk to. Everyone there seems generally interested in you and your tattoo. Their prices are fair for what they offer, and I was happy to pay.I would recommend this parlor to anyone, do yourself a favor and consider Tattooed Heart Studios for any of your future tattoos.

Ive never been to this studio before so as a new comer I didnt know what to expect. After being there for about 10 minutes I felt completely comfortable and relaxed. Tattooed Heart Studios and the employees who work there are the epitome of what you hope for/think of when picturing the ideal tattoo experience. Not only are the employees super unique and amazing, but the tattoo shop itself echos those same qualities. While Ive only been tattooed by two of the extremely talented tattoo artists at Tattooed Heart Studios, I have had the pleasure to meet each and every tattoo artist who works there and Ive only experienced positive exchanges with them. As for the ladies who have personally tattooed me, Andrea and Amber, I cant say enough good things about them. I experience severe anxiety in my day to day life and even though its not a tattoo artists job to help calm me down and relax me, Andrea (Instagram: louddoodle) goes out of her way to make sure I am the most comfortable and talks to me throughout every one of our sessions (3 so far - about to be 4 in a week). She is the kindest soul and makes beautiful art. More than half of my tattoos are flash tattoos that she drew and I just had to claim because I wanted them permanently on my body. Andrea stays true to who she is and she coneys the way she sees the world in her art which always turns out amazing. Both Andrea and Amber have a very unique style and they prefer sticking to their own style when crafting their artwork, so check out their styles and make sure it fits what youre envisioning as they will not do just any and everything. I could go on and on about how INCREDIBLE Tattooed Heart Studios is and how my experiences there are just that - incredible. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

I recently had my first tattoo done by John. Great first experience. I was more anxious than nervous, but my piece couldnt have turned out any better. John was very perfessional, very clean, and very comfortable to be around. He really gave me the feeling that he cared how it turned out as much as I did, and thats what drew me to his shop. I sat in my own room, listened to music, and engaged in conversation the whole time. I found tattooed heart solely based on google reviews, and let me tell you the reviews were accurate. The shop is very clean and comfortable. I got to meet Amy and Paul while I was there, both also very cool people. Overall my experience was phenomenal and I plan to get a lot of work done here in the future. This it not a typical tattoo studio. This studio is ran by amazingly talented artist that care about the customer experience as much as the tattoo the person wants. My tattoo was completed and design by the owner of Tattooed Heart Studios, John Garancheski. He did a full sleeve Phoenix on my right arm with some very personal touches and meanings. I would highly recommend this studio to any person looking for some real original pieces by talented artist and a highly rated customer experience. AWESOME STUDIO and AWESOME EXPERIENCE! Got my first tattoo here from Andrea Jensen. She had a really good sense of what I wanted, and working with her was easy and delightful. We communicated over email; Id say elements that I wanted in the tattoo, and shed incorporate them beautifully without further input from me. She has a really good sense of what her clients want, even without meeting them in person.Dont be fooled by how recently shes begun tattooing, her technique is awesome and you can tell shes learning from a real master. Besides, Andreas a MICA grad and a former art teacher; so shes got all the artistic and people skills to make YOUR tattoo!If LeBron James can make the All-Star game at age 20, you can get a tattoo from Andrea. If Tchaikovsky can begin learning music at age 21, you can get a tattoo from Andrea. Recognize talent where you see it.Honestly this whole review was superfluous if youve seen her portfolio; it really speaks for itself.Id post my own tattoo, but its a work-in-progress right now. This was my first tattoo. Amy was kind, helpful, and a joy to be tattooed by. After an initial consultation she created an awesome piece. She was very sensitive to what I wanted, and listened carefully to me. Everyone else that I met during my four sessions were fun, welcoming, and seemed very down to earth. The whole studio is very clean, and it is clear that they take a lot of pride in their work!

My feather tattoo was beautifully designed by Amy. The whole experience was exceptional. She began with a consultation call where she listened to all of my preferences. She then provided me with several design options in email and implemented my feedback in follow-up emails. The tattoo process was smooth as well and she even made last minute adjustments for me on the spot. I now have a beautiful, realistic feather that I will treasure as a tribute to a dear friend. Very professional tattoo shop. From my first visit I knew this shop was the right choice. I first saw raving reviews online and thought Id stop in to see how the place was. When i came in I said what I wanted and looked at portfolios to see who I wanted to tattoo. I chose to go with Amy as my artist. The shop scheduled me for a consultation which was very professional and got me and Amy on the same page. At the time she had a 2 month wait I believe but it was well worth it. When she sent me the rough draft of what she wanted to do there was minor things that I wanted to change and she did an excellent job working with me to change it to what i wanted. When i came in for the tattoo she finished right around the time she said it would take. During the tattoo we watched some breaking bad which helped with the sit time. Amazing tattoo shop and artist and well worth the wait. Ive had the tattoo about 6 months now and it looks great. The heal time was the best ive experienced she obviously knows how to tattoo and wont work your skin up like some artists. I do plan on going back in the future when I find a new project i want tatted.

So about two years ago I had Amy do a half sleeve and returned just the other day to have her amazing apperentice do a tattoo for me. And let me just tell you all, if you want an amazing artist and a wonderful environment, I highly recommend THS. I also highly recommend Andrea, she made me feel at home and worked with whatever I needed. Last December I went to another tattoo artist and did not have a great experience and that turned me off of tattoos for almost a year. Yet, after returning to THS I regained my confidence in an artist and started to trust again. Lucky for me this means I can start confidently getting amazing tattoos at a place I trust. I can not say enough amazing things about my artist Andrea Jensen and the whole staff at THS.

I currently have 5 tattoos by Andrea Jensen and Im sure there will be more to come in the future. I am absolutely in love with her work. She works hard to ensure that her designs are exactly what I want while also keeping her signature artistic flare in each one. I constantly get compliments on her tattoos wherever I go. And it doesnt hurt that shes a pretty awesome person who I have no problem sitting for hours on end with!

Any interested client reading this might find my concern to be more like, oh awesome!! Anyways, he may underjudge the amount of time your tattoo will take to complete and when he does this he will not charge you for the extra time. This was my case both in 2015 and this week. So for all of you interested in becoming a future client and have some reservations about cost, Im telling you that youre paying for quality artwork that at least in my case was underpriced. Thats a huge deal!!! Anyways, heres my full journey that dances the line of exceeding character limit.Back in April 2015, I gave John my vision and he turned it into gold. Yep, he did. Since this was back in 2015 I don’t remember everything about the experience, but I will share what really stood out to me and resulted in me coming back April 2022.Ok, so in 2015 I wanted a decently large first tattoo but was reserved about the boldness of color. A bit contradictory on my part. John was so incredibly patient with me, listened well, provided me with photo examples of what to expect with the color I wanted (aka the color I wanted was going to fade quickly and profoundly and he even gave photo evidence). Like, he made sure I had a totally informed decision. And I did it anyway. Yep.John’s HIGHLY SKILLED and I ate up ALL THE COMPLIMENTS my tattoo has received since 2015. My tat was even complimented literally days prior to me getting it revitalized. So of course I came back! No brainer. Present day, April 2022, I was ready to go bold with my tattoo and asked John if he was available and interested. He was prompt and friendly in his email correspondences as well as detailed without being overwhelming. I felt entirely prepared coming into the studio space.Tip: Read the website instructions. They’re clear and super quick reads. I especially appreciated being encouraged to bring snacks and wear comfy clothes. Ridiculously large and hole-filled shirt, beef jerky, and Mamma Chia Squeeze packs were my unsung heroes.Let’s talk about the studio space! It is so lovely, inviting, large and open, good natural lighting... meditation and metal merge as friends in this space. John is transparent and explains what’s happening throughout the process. He’s also warm, engaging, nonjudgmental, and incredibly easy to talk to… which you really need and want when you’re getting tattooed!Sidenote: I had a chance to interact with some of the other tattoo artists at Tattooed Heart, and I can tell John hires quality artists that share his values in being warm and engaging.When John tattoos an area of your body where say, some of your no sunlight bits have potential to slip out, he is pretty discreet in offering you modesty, comfort, and misdirection so you think hes covering that area of your skin for an entirely different reason. Im still not entirely sure thats what happened, except for the fact that in my second session I showed up with DIY K-tape pasties (Google/YouTube) and did not receive the same cover-up process/treatment. Anyways, he makes sure youre comfortable, temperature is good, and keeps a sterile/clean working zone.He also did an excellent job of checking that I was listening to the aftercare instructions… or maybe an excellent job of realizing my ADHD meds had worn off and I was daydreaming while he was explaining. Either way, super good job because aftercare is so essential. He is not just artistic; he is exceptional in the skills of tattooing that I do not know language for… I do know that I know this though, and I’ll tell you why. My tattoo is healing supa dupa quickly and holding its ink.With Tattooed Heart Studios, youre paying for a quality experience and a quality piece of artwork. But seriously, stop reading and make your appointment now! You’ll be so glad you did.

Tattooed Heart is absolutely fantastic. I had my first tattoo ever done by Meredith Bertschin just two days ago, and I love it! The studio is beautifully decorated and very clean, and everyone there was very personable and welcoming. I couldnt possibly recommend this studio highly enough - I cant wait to go back someday!

Amy Nicholls... This beautiful woman is a true artist! I have multiple tattoos, been tattooed by multiple artists, and all I can say is that Amy will be my artist for life! Amy first did a big rehab on an older tattoo, which turned out awesome; the revival of vibrancy in the colors, shading, attention to detail, she truly exceeded my expectations. I did not know that the tattoo had so much potential until Amy showed me exactly how talented she is at what she does. I have gotten two other tattoos from Amy, she is flawless and her line work is so smooth! The shop it self is so cool! Display cases filled of all the artists works to check out, and friendly staff its a fun place in itself. Andrea is a super lovely person! Super sweet and just great to chat with while shes doing an AMAZING job inkin ya up. Shes super gentle, knows how to distract you through the tougher parts, and the end product is stunning. I cant wait to get many more pieces from her!

My entire experience was amazing! The entire artist staff was very kind. I was at ease during the entire process; consultation to completing the last bit of shading. For someone whom has neurotic features, this is vitally important so that I enjoy the entire process. Andrea did an amazing job of listening to my vague wants/ prompts and translating it into the beautiful ouroboros and roses.You can get a snack during and after the tattoo, always a win.

From start to finish my experience with this studio has been 5 stars. My artist Kinsey knew exactly what I was looking for after my description and came up with a design that I knew was me the moment I saw it. The studio is clean and well decorated with a chic feel. I felt like we were old friends and we chatted through my whole session keeping me distracted. My tattoo looked exactly like my design and took less time than anticipated. Wonderful experience!

I spent over a year planning my first tattoo and after my experience at Tattooed Heart Studios I would not pick any other studio in Maryland for my next tattoo. John is very professional and he made the tattoo experience very comfortable for me, even asking for my input during the tattoo design process. I recently got work done by Meredith and I cant express how happy I am with my experience. She worked with me throughout the whole experience- art, scheduling and (minimal) pain! Review for Amy Nicholls -This is not the first session I have had with Amy. I have been a returning client for over a year, and am never disappointed with the work she provides. Preferring a female tattoo artist for most of my work, her skill and technique are spectacular. Her personality makes it great to bounce ideas off her; and her enthusiasm for her work makes one excited to have her bringing your tattoo to life. She is always willing to work with her clients to ensure that they get what they want in their tattoo; or helps the client understand certain limitations if their concept so there are no surprises or unhappy results. I cannot say enough about Amy Nicholls talent, professionalism, and attitude to do her justice on this review. But, I hope that these words will inspire others to consider her for their projects as they will not be disappointed with the results.

MEREDITH - Im going to start off by saying this woman was absolutely AMAZING. She is so sweet and very professional. She went back and forth with me via email and was prompt with her responses. She made my tattoo better than I had went in picturing it to be. She listened to what I wanted but also threw in other ideas I hadnt thought of just to give me some other options and I ended up liking them even better. She was very careful to make sure I truly liked the tattoo design before getting started. Im so happy with it and cant recommend her enough. I probably wont be getting any more tattoos but if I was, Id go back to her for sure!Lastly, I would like to say that the studio is perfect. I have a number of tattoos, all very significant, each with a special meaning to me. I am very careful about choosing a studio for my tattoos and generally do quite a bit of research. I have found that every shop has a particular feeling and there are quite a few talented artists out there, each with their own style and approach. So it is important to do your research and match what you are looking for to the artist and the atmosphere.So, when I started my search for a studio and an artist for my most recent two tattoos, it was especially difficult. These two tattoos meant more to me than any that had come before - because they were in honor of my partner and soulmate who I had lost to cancer after over eight years together.I looked at countless studios and pages of artwork but kept coming back to one studio and one artist in particular. Tattooed Heart Studios and John Garancheski. The reviews were excellent and Johns artwork called to me.Now, after both rather large tattoos are complete...I can say that my experience proves I made the right choice. Every step of the way, John, his fellow artists, and all of the staff were nothing less that superbly professional and welcoming. John took his time, was very patient, listened to my thoughts on the design, and turned both pieces into beautiful works of art.They are both utterly spectacular!For anyone wanting a truly wonderful tattoo experience, this is the place! John was an absolute pleasure to work with. Great art, great attitude, super patient and willing to work with you to come up with something you really love. Ive been waiting to get work done with John for a few months now and was not disappointed in the slightest.Besides Johns personal work, the studio is absolutely beautiful and CLEAN. Theres a comfortable waiting area with coffee and granola bars and other snacks, along with a lot of reference material for those still trying to pick out some sort of design. Price was discussed before and there were absolutely no surprises for my wallet.Will definitely be returning.

I got my tattoo done with Natalie Seki yesterday. She was extremely hospitable and was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was super patient when we were discussing my tattoo and made sure we were 100 percent on the same page. This allowed me to feel extremely confident and relaxed as far as how my tattoo was going to turn out. She was also a very charming conversationist throughout the entire tattoo process. I met a few of the other artists and they were also super polite and friendly. The studio itself also has a great vibe. I absolutley reccomend this studio and I of course reccomend Natalie. 5 stars!!

John Garancheski did a great job on my custom black and grey tattoo. The line work and shading is amazing. I healed with no issues. The studio was clean and sanitation precautions were taken. I cant wait to get my next tattoo from John.

Kinsey did my first tattoo which was a half sleeve and took the full day. Awesome/fun experience, great clean shop, and couldnt of asked for a better looking tattoo! Would recommend to anyone, all the artists are extremely talented! Kinsey has some of the best water color tattoos around.

I had a custom piece designed based on a photo of my father. Owner/Artist John Garancheski had a thorough, detailed consultation with me and was very in-tune with what I was looking for. When I came in for my appointment, the work he had done was exactly what I had in mind. John took his time to make sure the work was perfect. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The studio is incredibly clean and a very comfortable place to get your work done. The end result was a very special piece that exceeded my expectations. They are true artists and true professionals. I originally came in to get a tattoo By Kinsey Roehm which quickly turned into a full sleeve and I am beyond satisfied with how everything came out. Everyone at the shop is friendly and professional. Kinsey is patient, fun to talk to, and did a great job at trying to make the experience as painless as possible which is perfect for sitting in a chair for 6+ hours. Definitely a shop worth checking out!

This studio is by far the best Ive encountered in the DMV. I have been tattooed by 2 of their artists (Amy Nicholls and Kinsey Roehm) and had the absolute best experience. If youre looking for an organic and natural painterly tattoo, I highly recommend seeing Amy, and if you would like something more geometric or water color based, I would really recommend seeing Kinsey.Honestly, if you want a high quality tattoo and a really great experience, book with ANY of the artists at this studio!! Just finished my third project with Tattoed Heart. First one at the new location and first one with Andrea. Both impressed the hell out of me. New facility is clean and has an awesome vibe. Andrea as a tattoo artist was incredible. I need to stress the artist part of her title. I sent her a very basic pic from a google image search and she was able to pull out exactly what I wanted and create something unique that I love. Andrea was very prompt in getting back to me and is just awesome to spend time with. Can’t recomend the shop or her strongly enough. I won’t be going anywhere else, and look forward to future work! 🤘

Feel secure and confident about your tattoo and experience. If youve been holding out on getting a tattoo because youve been picturing some rundown place in a strip mall that might make your dream tattoo look more like a nightmare or if youve had that experience in the past, wipe it from your mind. Every artist has a bit of a different style or specialty and if they dont think they are the right person for your dream tattoo- theyll tell you so or even recommend an artist that can. They are appointment only (prior to COVID and after), clean, and have private studios- this was important to me, also being able to share my ideas and have two artists here bring it to life was more than I could ask for. Well worth the wait and my money.

My artist was Amy Nicholls. She emailed back and forth with me to discuss my sketch before I came in, and was extremely supportive and thoughtful with her design! She was super friendly and fun, allowing me to pick something to watch on Netflix to distract from the pain. Ironically, it hardly hurt! She has a light touch and a calming fun vibe. Her work is IMPECCABLE. She is a true artist with a passion for tattooing. The prices are well worth the art - no feeling of overcharge at all. The studio was clean, friendly, and comfortable. I cant wait to go back, and I will definitely recommend the studio - and especially Amy - to everybody!!!

I went in to get a tattoo with Amy and she took my general concept and ideas, ran with it, and turned it into a truly legitimate piece of artwork! Amy and the entire staff were professional, personable, and very passionate about the work that they do and it made my first tattoo experience comfortable and memorable. I just got my first large tattoo from John. I flew into Maryland for my tattoo. John was great with corresponding via email. He alway got back to me very quickly and answered all my questions. His studio is also a quick cab ride from the BWI airport. Uber was about $16 dollars to get there. Super cheap and easy!I cannot say enough about my experience. His shop is by far the nicest studio I’ve been in. It’s a mix of a spa and art gallery feel. Everything In this shop is high end, clean, and beautiful. John made me feel very welcomed and relaxed. Chill musics, candels, and a ton of natural lighting. His studio is also private and you need an appointment to get in. Which made the experience much more comfortable.My tattoo experience was just as wonderful. John made sure I was comfortable the whole time. He took breaks when I needed. There was a few points that I almost couldn’t have fell asleep! I was so relaxed and comfortable. I’m going to have a hard time going anywhere else for a tattoo. John set the bar so high. When we finished up he bandaged me up to make traveling with a new tattoo very easy! I’m still in the healing phase, but so far I absolutely love how my tattoo looks! I can’t wait to see it when it’s completely healed.I would highly recommend going to John. His work is very recognizable and he’s an expert in his craft. I love and adore Tattooed Heart! Had my ink done on Oct. 7th by Paul who was funny, engaging and brilliant with his vision and translated exactly what I wanted into the perfect first (a cartoon-style cat) and second (contemporary cherry blossoms) tattoos in my life. Sarah made the experience even better by making me feel at home and totally at ease by holding my hand and talking me through first ink scariness, the perfect ambassador. Amy fascinated me while I was waiting by showing me some of her works in progress, and the studio as a whole was just simply fantastic. I could have stayed for hours if I had more $ and if it wasn’t so close to quitting time, but TH is the right kind of studio for me. Can’t wait for my next sitting…everyone needs to run, not walk to TH because you cannot go wrong with any of the crew working their magic. Thank you JG for having such an amazing place!

Ive been waiting for years (about 25 of them in fact) to come up with a design worthy of putting in my skin for eternity. In December I finally got a concept that I thought would work, but I had no money. Regardless I reached out to Paul at Tattooed Heart and went to the shop to meet him and talk about it. In the middle of renovations, knowing that I had no money and no ability to get the work done for at least a month or 2, Paul took the time to talk to me about my design, answer all my questions, and generally help me get comfortable with what I was going to do.Fast forward a few months, and I stopped in to put down a deposit. Paul developed my art and sent me some sketches that took the concept a little further than what I wanted. He answered some questions, made some revisions, and when I got to the studio I was just in love with his version of my idea. The piece took about 90 minutes to complete and I had a great time. In the end it was more than what I originally had in mind, but what he translated directly from my mind was perfect, and what he added in the planning stages only enhanced the final project.Paul was very professional, very capable, and personable to boot. The ink looks fantastic. I had a very specific concept that Paul captured perfectly. I have always said that I only want one tattoo. If I ever change my mind about that, though, I wont even shop around - its back to Paul and Tattooed Heart.

I cant recommend Tattooed Heart highly enough! Ive been lucky to get 3 tattoos from John Garancheski - 2 larger shoulder pieces, as well as a smaller mandala piece, and the results are spectacular. The experience at THS, from consultation to the finished tattoo, was fantastic. John was able to take my admittedly vague ideas and turn them into beautiful shoulder caps - one geometric, the other a floral Art Nouveau style in great autumn colors. The new shop is immaculate, the staff professional and friendly. Ill never go anywhere other than Tattooed Heart, never see anyone other than John, for any future tattoos!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I stumbled upon THS while researching for my third piece. Being new to the area at the time I simply searched best tattoo shops in MD. Every time THS was at the top. I reached out to Amy and got the process started. All I gave her to work with was I want a great white shark. Thats it. She turned that into an amazingly beautiful half sleeve. To say she went above and beyond my expectations would be the understatement of the century. From start to finish she was the best. She was more excited for my piece than I was! The passion she has for her art is beautiful and contagious. Spending 20 hours over 3 sessions with someone is a lot, but she made the time fly and there was never a dull moment. We talked tattoos, life, philosophy, listened to music, comedians, ordered pizza. It was like chilling with a lifelong friend. And its not just Amy, the entire staff from John (the owner) to their newest apprentice are all welcoming and chill as hell. Theyll pop in and chat, share stories, laugh and help pass the time. My piece gets so much recognition on a daily basis and never ceases to get an oh my God or two. Im always asked where I got it and Im more than happy to send people to THS. So save yourself some time and dont Google best tattoo shop in MD. Youve found. Amy, youre awesome!

The best tattoo shop in Maryland as far as I am concerned. I went in yesterday to have a piercing done by Dan Taylor who did a awesome job no pain made me feel so comfortable, and a true professional. The shop is so clean and tastefully decorated. The rooms have nice peaceful feel to them.

I really like this place and the environment, plenty of talented friendly artists and calm atmosphere. I was recently tattooed by Natalie Seki because I enjoy her style, she is amazing and really makes you feel comfortable. Was definitely worth the long wait to see her. From concept to completion - an excellent experience!After several years of indecision, I finally settled on getting inked. Being in art/design myself (and thoughtful by nature), I knew I would have particular expectations and Tattooed Heart met them all- from professionalism and cleanliness to creativity.I reached out with a foundation for ideas which John was able interpret and breathe life into. This balance between the artist and I in the process and final composition was key for me. I had done TONS of research which led me to Johns portfolio. My appreciation for his artistry was immediate. During our consultation, he was able to listen to my spiel and articulate it back to me from his own perspective and that sealed the deal. It was going to take a certain person to get me and Id found them. Communication with him throughout the process remained just as fluid.A couple months out, my tattoo is definitely a conversation starter whenever my back is exposed (it stretches from shoulder to upper thigh), which I love since its elements represent values so integral to my life. (I have seriously had in depth conversations with strangers in 7-11 because of it. Lol.) For a first-timer getting such a sizable piece, my process was easy and comfortable. Bryce also could not possibly do a better job up front. ...I could truly go on forever. I highly recommend THS to anyone seeking quality talent and service!!

I spent about 16 years contemplating my first tattoo....I knew I wanted a mehndi design and was searching local artists that did this style - enter John Garancheski. This guy! He is a master of his craft 1000%. He takes the time to make customized elegant art and I couldnt be more thrilled with my beautiful result. The studio is large, clean and just...amazing and the staff is friendly and professional. I think I might be addicted now :)

Andrea Jenson! Lets talk about this angel baby for a quick second. Not ONLY is she extremely gifted in her work but she gets the job done without you wanting to rip your arm off. #lighthanded. Her energy is so bright and we connected on another level instantly. Ive been to the shop twice and each time the place was spotless and everyone was in good cheer. I wouldnt consider going to anyone else in the area now that ive found a tattooer that just gives me LIFE. Prices are average to high but you definitely get what you pay for. They also have snacks for those that forget to eat ahead of time! (bonus, much?) Let me start by saying the shop, Tattooed Heart Studios, is awesome. All of the artists were friendly, professional and charismatic when I encountered them, really making it feel like I was in the right place. It’s also an immaculately clean place with a great overall vibe.Now I’ll speak to John’s overwhelmingly positive capabilities. I came to him with an unruly number of clashing ideas and asked him to make sense of it, infuse it with his own personal style, and design me something coherent. The ultimate design was far more kick ass than I had ever imagined it being. I tweaked one small detail and he was fully willing – and even seemed to positively agree – with the change, he did not take it as an affront to his personal creativity (you hear horror stories). If his style aligns with a tattoo you’d like to get, three small words of advice: “DO. NOT. HESITATE.” Professionalism aside, he’s also just a flat out awesome guy to work with. If I ever want another that fits his portfolio, I know what line I’ll be metaphorically standing in.

Project: Van Gogh Starry Night full wrap from just above elbow to top of shoulder. Also covered up previous black ink tattoo.Artist: Amy Nicholls, @ANichollstattooDuration: about 12 hours.Tattoo #: my 5th tattoo, but my largest and most complicated.In my opinion, its difficult to walk into a tattoo shop and ask an artist to tattoo a masterpiece such as Starry Night. Throw in that the piece will be a cover up of an existing all black ink tattoo and it becomes even more complicated. But thats what I did.I searched the Internet for quite some time looking for an artist with the portfolio that I felt would do Van Gogh justice. When I came across Tattoed Heart I felt like Id found the right shop.I was very impressed by Amys portfolio and what I felt like she could do with this piece. Knowing that Starry Night is oil on canvas, Amy was a clear choice as her concept, style, and inspiration lent itself very well to the required seamless blending of colors, non-linear natural elements and landscape, and almost non-existence of defined lines. I did request that Amy remove the cyprus from the painting and replace it with the Tree of Life (for symbolic reasons), which she did flawlessly.We worked out some details during my first appointment and communicated via email about specifics until she sent me the draft of my tattoo a few days before we started. Even though it was diffucult to envision the final result based solely on line work I could tell that Amy and I were on the exact same page with the design.The finished piece came out even better than I could have imagined. You never know if what you see in your mind is going to translate on to your body as a tattoo, but Amy did such an amazing job I cant point to one single detail that I wish would have come out differently. She incorporated the leaves from the Tree of Life perfectly into the background landscape, village rooftops, and night sky. The moon just above the tree in the foreground is an excellent focal point of the piece which sets the frame then allows the eyes to work through the individual aspects of the piece without dominating the background or overshadowing the intense detail work that Amy did. Just as in the original, Amys interpretation allows for smooth viewing transitions and distinguished yet well-blended features.Aside from the tattoo, I would also compliment the entirety of Tattooed Heart Studios staff on their exceptional customer service. Bryce was always pleasant when it came to scheduling and makes you feel at ease when you walk through the door. Tattoo parlors can be intimidating, but the atmosphere at this shop will put you at ease. One aspect that I found exceptional was that they treated each customer with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. No matter if it was a small piece or a large piece, it was as important to them as it was to the customer.I will tell you this.... This studio is staffed by professionals with exceptional talent. If your piece doesnt fit their style or if the artist doesnt think he/she would be a good fit for your project, I believe they will tell you. But believe me, its for your benefit (remember the cover up part?). I also believe they will give you recommendations for a better tattoo that will make you happier in the end. As the quality is so high, the wait list can be long. But its well worth it. I waited a while but I couldnt be happier with the final result. Once we started, Amy was committed to working with me expeditiously until completion. The appointments were as close together as I could get them to allow for healing and it was never rushed. Amy worked until either she or I needed to be done for the day and it was never an issue.I can say that John has put together the best shop I have found and I hope that I get to work with Amy on some future projects.

Amazing Experience with Andrea . I was traveling and had an idea for a tattoo but couldn’t make it in for a console . Andrea was able to take my email and create an amazing tattoo . She is very professional and does great work . The job itself is very beautiful clean and unique . Just walking up the stairs to the shop you know you will have a great experience

I was extremely nervous walking into my consultation at Tattoed Heart. Not slightly uneasy nervous, but sweating and shaking nervous. I expected John to be arrogant, critical, and maybe even cruel. I did not expect him to be supportive, reassuring, and kind. He made me feel comfortable and confident about my proposed design, and my decision to receive a large first tattoo.Being an asthetaphile, I had concerns during the design phase -  I wanted a piece that was perfect and fitting. John produced a piece of art that exceeded even my ideal conceptions. He knew exactly what I needed, and designed a piece that reflected my own interests, style, and self.I highly recommend John as an acceptional artist, and tattooist. Tattoed Heart Studio offers a state of the art facility, a creative, collaborative culture, and a welcoming and dedicated staff.I would hesitate to go anywhere else for custom art by talented professionals.

I had the pleasure of working with John for my jungle piece and I am absolutely in love with my ink! When I walked in to discuss ideas of what I wanted, John was more than helpful in giving me his ideas and opinions, and I could not be happier! He set me up in three different sessions and was able to work around my schedule. They are a bit pricey, but they are absolutely worth it. You get what you pay for!

The first thing I noticed about this tattoo studio was the great interior design. The staff is very professional and friendly. I got my tattoo done by Meredith. It turned out great! I look forward to getting my next tattoos here.

Met once. Didnt know Id have to agree to put a deposit down for the first session until the end of our talk. The artist took almost 2 months to send me a mockup that wasnt close to what wed discussed. Didnt feel confident in continuing. Now have a medical problem which means serious bills. I asked if some of the $400 deposit could be refunded. No dice. An expensive lesson. The talent of the artists is unquestionable, but you better love their style before you take your first step, no matter what gets promised in the first meeting.

Excellent experience overall with Natalie Seki at Tattooed Heart. Cant recommend highly enough, super personable, professional, and passionate about her work. The studio itself is very nice and comfortable, and everyone there seemed very friendly.

Tory Destromp tattooed me yesterday, and he was the real deal! The shop was clean, and I was comfortable from consultation until it was over. This was my 10th tattoo, and this was by far my best experience. I had a chance to meet all of the other artists, and we had a great time while I was getting tattooed. Ill be back in a few weeks for more.

Best tattoo and piercing place around! My husband and I got tattoos here about a year ago and it was the best experience I have ever had with a tattoo shop. When it was time to get my nose repierced I knew this was the place to have it done. I had my nose pierced a while ago but had to take it out due to a nickel allergy. I sent Jenn an email letting her know that I had a nickel allergy and that I wanted to try again with a titanium stud. She was more than accommodating. They don’t carry titanium in the shop, but Jenn helped me find a place that was local where I could pick one up. She was awesome with answering every single random question I had about getting it redone. She gave me a ton of advice on things to try to prevent another issue and so on. Super friendly, sweet and just awesome!!! Love this place!!!

Amy N. took my 5 y.o. celtic knot tree of life tattoo from a simple flat inert image, to a dynamic swirl with an added ring of richly colored waves, well integrated with the old tattoo. She was very collaborative to get the right design, and she was a pleasure to work with. The staff at TH is great too, adding a nice distraction during the session. Great result, great value... Am sure to go back at some point...

I searched for years to find artists that also tattoo well and I found it at Tattooed Heart Studios. Amy has done such a great job understanding my needs and coming up with ideas that have worked perfect for me and my body. Ive been seeing Amy here since 2013 and I wouldnt want to go anywhere else! She gave my my first tattoo and was extremely caring and and comforting knowing my anxiety about it. At this point Ive gotten 8 tattoos done by her and theyve all come out better than I could have imagined!

I went in today to get piered by Jenn (navel). I called before hand, she was super friendly and answered all my questions. My friend and I went together and she was super nice, fast. I even told her of my history of passing out and she told me there were things there for me to eat/drink if I needed to. The entire staff of Tattooed Heart was amazing, Im a stickler for good service and thats all i received here. Ill be returning for everything I want done. Stop reading and go! Thanks Jenn!!!

Ive been seeing Amy Nicholls for the last 4.5 years and she never disappoints. Ive got three AMAZING works of art of hers on my body, and working on completing a fourth that is not only a large chest piece, but also a coverup of a removal. Shes always been nothing but amazing and creative and never fails to provide an amazing end product, and that doesnt even include the journey with her! Every session is a killer time, lots of laughs, genuine human interaction, and of course a kickass amazing woman who is top notch at her craft.

Super high end and clean location. Very private and professional. I found Kinsey on instagram and fell in love with her work. Scheduling was simple and the work was performed as promised and healed quickly. Can’t recommend this shop enough.

The shop itself is a great locale and the staff is incredibly helpful and inviting. Paul was my artist. His artwork is incredible and he did a fantastic job throughout the whole design and tattooing process. I definitely recommend this place.

Meredith did a peice on my calf. She was amazing and managed to squeeze me in without an appointment. They told me it was very rare walk ins got work done. Very happy with quality of work, shop is very nice. People are great.

By far the best tattoo shop Ive been to and Ive been to quite a few. Private glass enclosed booths, beautiful sitting area and amazing staff and hospitality. I am going back again next month partly just so I can hang out at the shop, oh and to get another amazing tattoo by John.

I just wanted to thank Kinsey for such beautiful work she did for my sternum piece at the Porltand Expo. I love this piece so much, and Ive already gotten so many compliments on how gorgeous it is. It makes me love a part of my body that I otherwise hadnt liked too much, which feels amazing to have sort of reclaimed that area with this beautiful art.
