Im in the process of getting two large upper arm tattoos removed. I hate the other one so much that Im not even posting it, but it has the same progress as the one in the pictures Ive posted. I came from a tattoo removal spot in Sugar Land, notorious for scamming people to here, and Im amazed with the results. I wasnt even being worked on before. This place is incredible as well as the owner. He is the most knowledgeable person Ive met when it comes to tattoo removal. 10/10

John is AMAZING!He was the most informative and he truly cares for his craft. He took an extra 30 minutes out of his day to just explain the process of laser removal and to educate me with the ins and outs.I went to two places prior and they both quoted me an insane amount of sessions without even seeing me in person or doing a test spot. John did a test spot because I have red ink and there are many things that come into play when it comes to red. He wouldn’t start a session without seeing what would happen with the test spot and that was eye opening. The two other businesses I went to, wanted to immediately start and made me feel pressured to spend $1200 up front for 8-12 sessions. When I asked to see before and after photos, she said removery employees don’t take their own photos??? BIG RED FLAGWELL YOU WOULDNT BELIEVE BUT my tattoo is almost completely GONE after one session. This doesn’t happen often he said, but I got extremely lucky. NEVER trust scam artists like Removery. Clean Canvas Laser is the only place I’d go!!!!!!❤️ Shawn is also an absolute angel!!!! One of the best decisions I made, John really made me into a believer after my consultation meeting with him. He educated me on many quality of inks and went step by step for the process and what I would have to do during and after my treatments.The price was very reasonable and John is true professional. My tattoo was on my neck and after my 6 treatments if you didn’t know me before you would never guessed I had a neck tattoo. I went to Clean Canvas Laser and could not be more satisfied and impressed with my experience. To make a long story short, I recently had a bad experience with a large chain of laser removal clinics. Their Houston location had me pre pay for several hundred dollars worth of treatments when they knew they were going out of business before my treatments were complete. John was nice enough to answer some questions I had about the issue which led to me getting my money back for the treatments I paid to the clinic that is now out of business. I was amazed that he was willing to help me with the issue. John definitely went above and beyond, but its because he genuinely cares about his clients. John is very knowledgeable about the laser removal process, he explained the entire procedure and what to expect and laid out all my options. I never felt pressured like I did at the other place, I regret not going to Clean Canvas in the first place. I cant wait to go back for my future treatments. As a former client of Dr.Tatoff I was really eager to find somebody that had the right tools and the right price to begin my tattoo removal after two years. John was very knowledgeable and gave me the rundown that sounded rather rehearsed however I could understand because he has so many clients and wants them to truly understand the process of removal and expectations. His pricing is fair enough although I got quoted less else where I felt comfortable doing it with him. My only complaint is that he advised me that someone from his office would contact me the next day to check up on me and to schedule my next appointment. That was about a month ago and I have yet to receive a call. Im hoping to return as a client.

His expertise and experience on this industry is what made me make the 3 hour trip from Dallas a no brainer. I have only had 1 session, but I see some visible changes to both tattoos already! John and his staff are very straight forward and honest. I actually didn’t want to have it removed, but once I applied with the Houston Police Department I was told it had to go. Sure enough I chose Clean Canvas and I am more than pleased with the results. I was able to continue my process with HPD after one session, but I decided to continue to remove it and was done in three sessions (we thought it would take longer). My first visit with clean canvas was 2017, and for a multitude of reasons I did not return until 2021. First treatment/visit was well and educational. Second (or third) treatment he mentioned not being sure if mine will ever fully remove being it is more high quality than they typically work with. FFWD, 2022, today was my 6th treatment(should have been December but that’s because of my end) he told me he will be retiring in 3years and wasn’t sure if he will be able to finish. He stated with the current results and ink quality, it typically takes about 10-12 treatments in total. So 4-6 more approximately Im assuming. I’m just glad he feels it can be done. We should have enough time to get that done. 3 years! I’m looking forward to having a clean canvas. Never any boils or physical scarring. Always a quick process.Additional: Every subsequent visit after the first John makes sure to remind me we should have been done as well as the quality of my ink. He never let up. Also, From my experience, He knows how to crush optimism no matter the conversation 🥴 takes a toll after it being every visit experience. I’ve learned to say bare minimum. Again, he gets the job done. I never have any issues. I will see where this goes. Maybe get a second opinion from my dermatologist office if we cannot finish at clean canvas.

Choosing a removal artist is almost as important as choosing a tattoo artist. They have to adjust lasers to the color and different types of ink. The first company I went to left blisters and scars. They also had me coming in more frequently than necessary because they wanted to make more $$$ off of me. I was fortunate to find John over at Clean Canvas. He took great care of me. Fully removed 1 tattoo, working on the second removal, and faded 1 more for a cover up.

Great experience! I was never given false expectations or failing promises. I was initially told that the number of treatments depended on the quality of ink and depth of tattoo, both of which neither of us had the info to. I was concerned about my fair, extremely sensitive skin, so being very understanding to my concerns, he did a very light trial run on my first visit. Still got results. Just had my 4th session (which I really consider my 3rd bc he was so conservative on the 1st) today and he expects it to be my last. I had a consult at a different place and they wanted me to come every 2 weeks for treatment. Crazy? YES! Do your research and this can result in lifelong scarring that can’t be fixed. He is a professional and has you come back on a schedule that fits YOU, and proper, scar free removal! Thank you!!!

I just finished having two tattoos removed with John. He was transparent about the process and upfront during every session. I got 1 treatment in April 2015, but soon found out I was pregnant and havent been back since, due to my hectic schedule! However, my tattoo has continued to fade! I have been to four different clinics in Houston and not one of them has told me the truth about realistic expectations as far as tattoo removal is concerned. In fact, after leaving Clean Canvas Laser I am actually pissed off. The owner at Clean Canvas Laser talked to me for an hour about tattoo inks and the laser process. He gave me a full education on what to expect and didnt LIE TO ME like the rest of the places did. If I dont know what kind of ink is in my tattoo then how the hell do they know? I am so happy that I have found Clean Canvas Laser and will be getting the rest of my tattoos removed there. The place is super clean and the pricing is not the cheapest in town but very, very, reasonable.

I purchased a full tattoo removal package from UnInk and received one treatment before they closed their doors without notice. I figured I was out $100s. Luckily I was informed that Clean Canvas was taking all of UnInks former customers. I made an appointment and went and talked to John. He is very knowledgable and honest about tattoo removal. I have been in for two treatments with him and am very satisfied with the work so far. I highly recommend for anyone that is looking for honest and fair priced tattoo removal.

I highly recommend Clean Canvas Laser for effective tattoo removal. I was originally a client at another company that went out of business shortly after I pre-paid for a bunch of sessions. I was out a ton of money. Fortunately for me Clean Canvas took on those clients and honored the pre-paid sessions made at the defunct business. I have now had about three sessions at Clean Canvas and the results are far superior than the original place I went. One tattoo that was only black ink is completely removed with almost no trace whatsoever. However, where Clean Canvas has really impressed me is that the laser used is so far very effective at removing blue ink, which is the most difficult. The first place I went had almost no success at removing the blue ink. So in summary, I am very pleased with the results so far and recommend Clean Canvas for anyone looking to have a tattoo removed. Dont waste your money anywhere else.

I am a former patient of Unink Tattoo Removal. I pre-paid for one of my tattoos to be removed by Unink at elevated prices which I justified because they would cap the treatments and cover any additional appointments needed to complete the process. Honestly, the whole concept of pre-paying is a bad idea, and the little light in my head should have gone off the first time they had a change in ownership (back when Unink took over for MEDermis Laser Clinic). Let’s just say it didn’t, and I learned a hard lesson.I received the infamous email days before my next appointment, and when I read the letter I was mad. I only had a few more treatments to go before I reached the estimate for the promised guarantee that there would be no additional cost to remove the rest of my tattoo. I’m not sure why I was mad because my tattoo removal had not progressed at all in the last couple of treatments and my leg was starting to show signs of hypopigmentation, that’s white spots that are never going to go away. Any ways, I called John at Clean Canvas Laser and he got me in that afternoon to assess the situation.When I got there John searched over the client lists provided by Unink. One list was for pay-as-you go patients and the other was for paid package patients. I was not on either list, and now my blood is about to boil. I just got suckered out of the whole prepackage deal and there’s no proof I was even going to Unink, except that I received the email. So John starts to search the computer. At this point I am standing behind him at his desk and he finds my folder. There is the picture of my tattoo before treatments started, the number of treatments I had (which was incorrect) and the total paid (also incorrect). I want to mention here that I did call Healthcap Partners (they sent out the Unink letter) and spoke to Stephanie. She told me that they were not applying any refunds and she did not have any detailed information of my patient history. She actually sent me an email to complete so they would have some sort of record and again told me no refunds. I even called my credit card company. I found out there is a 3 month limit to recover expenses.So then John re-educates me on the whole laser removal process and talks about the difference in lasers on the market. I thought I had done my research the first time around, but I never realized how little oversight there is in this industry. He’s definitely spent more time explaining things to me than Unink. He treated the tattoo that was in progress and worked out a plan for my second visit that would include the other three tattoos I was considering.The whole procedure was different beginning with the cool air and laser during the visit all the way through the recovery. My leg did not blister and the laser was more precise in targeting the remaining color. The healing process was quicker and I noticed fading. Again, I had not noticed any significant change with Unink for several appointments. I was happy. I began researching again and decided to treat the other three tattoos next time. If it wasn’t going to be with Clean Canvas, it would have been with another company and John convinced me he was the better choice. I am just glad I did not do all four with Unink.Now I have completed my second visit with Clean Canvas Laser for all four tattoos. Again no blistering. The healing has been quick and without pain. I would highly recommend Clean Canvas to anyone considering tattoo removal. John is knowledgeable. His office is clean. You will get results.

When I was 17 I was in a very bad place in my life . Didnt know if I would every get out of that relationship. These tattoos he gave me represent that trauma I endured during that relationship. 11/1/2016- went in for a second treatment. I feel so comfortable there I dont even stress that i have to go. My tat lightened up and the second time it did hurt more but I am excited to get this tattoo off my body! John seems to really care about his patients. He is trying very hard to get nasty tattoos off of people and he tells you what to do to help remove it. I didnt listen to his advice all that great the first time but second time around I am going to follow his advice. To be continued... First review: I never had this done before but a friend reccomended me here. I did it yesterday and I dont have any pain, no blistering, nothing. I am just going to patiently wait till my next appointment because he explained the process to me so even though I feel fine I will wait. It was raised and hard feeling yesterday but I didnt feel pain at all. My tattoo is pretty dark so I am not sure how many sessions I will need but I am really glad I dont have to worry about the pain cause literally there is NONE and I am a total wuss when it comes to pain :)

The cheapest place I have ever seen for the quality and knowledge he provides. Very passionate about the quality of work he does although do be warned he’s not the funniest lol. The amount of progress I have made with my tattoo removal has honestly been priceless in just three visits even though my ink is of higher quality. This guy is changing lives seriously .

I came in for a consultation i am a light skin blck woman . They weren’t there when I got there and the set up was a little odd however I still went For a consult . I have a tattoo on my arm that extends to my hand and all I wanted was it lightened but he did not hear me out . He explained to me because of my skin color he couldn’t do it and anyone saying they can is a liar . He handed me my money back in hand in the office . He proceeded to ask why I was getting it removed i stated the military he said well is it even worth it etc . Little did he know it wasn’t for entrance Im already in military and simply just wanted to not show in uniform anymore . Anywho i went to another place and they have been helping me and it’s been turning out great but this place keeps reaching out to me eventhough he didn’t want to help me because of my black skin

I had a large homemade tattoo on by back that I got back in 1997 that made me very uncomfortable and embarrassed to be without a shirt at the beach or pool. Today I went for my 1st treatment and I couldnt be more happy with how comfortable and good I felt about the whole thing. I was educated before the process and the whole process was just amazing. The visit was much different from the 2 other Treatment centers Id been to, Dermalase on 249, and the buyout Co. Location my records moved to on Westheimer, when the 249 loc. shutdown. I had visited the Dr. Tattoff Location in Sugar Land before it shut down, and had a consultation at the Westheimer Location, lucky for me when it came time that I was able to make an Appt for treatment the lady was rude and claimed that theyd lost my file?? Well that saved me about $2600 bucks considering they wanted me to pay for a package instead of per visit. Which John seems to prefer, and I appreciate that.The Laser John used was obviously much better quality than the ones used during previous sessions at the above two Dermalase locations. The reaction my Ink gave at a much lower setting than I was used to (Lvl.3 compared to Lvl.6-8) was a surprise, and the reaction to the laser treatment seemed to actually penetrate much deeper than I was used to. The treatment seemed to get into or below the tattooed areas instead of just hitting the surface, if you can understand. I had some blistering which is normal for me, but not like I had at the previous centers, the actual swelling of the treated areas may have lasted a bit longer I think, but the heal time I believe was about the same. No scarring, No odd patching, my hands look completely normal now, and am due for another session.The Blues, yellows, and greens, actually reacted to the treatment unlike prior ones by the last Co., including the red ink (which had no effect during my sessions at the other Co. after 2) which has lightened quite a bit after my initial sessions with John.Green and Yellow fill black outlined Rosary on the back of my Left Hand, and what has now become trendy old school Red and Blue, bird with yellow/brown fill banner on the Back of the right hand, that includes a green vine of thorns around the right wrist for treatment.By the way I read through the reviews of this place, before posting my own, and most are on point. I do find it odd that the Chick who apparently just wanted to put John on blast, has only made that 1 single review according to her profile. And, the fact she couldnt use her real name tells me what I needed to know about it..anyways just my 2 cents..

Best in business!!! Wouldnt recommend going anywhere else. If you want results listen to his advice on best practices between treatments. Have only had 3 treatments and my tattoo has faded significantly.

Had my first appointment today and it went very well. He went through the process thoroughly and was very knowledgeable. Made me feel comfortable and you can tell he enjoys and cares for his work.

I called to set a consultation with the front desk assistant who was pretty rude. After I set my appointment, I was not given any info that there would be a fee for the consultation. I decided to ask before I went completely through with it. After they told me the price, I decided that I did not want to go through with my consultation so the front desk immediately hung up in my face. Theres no need for rude customer service in this kind of industry.

Progress in just 1 treatment. Not huge progress but this is a process and he makes it clear not everyone’s results will be the same.
