Got my first tattoo done by Tracy a while back. I was 18 and had no idea what to expect but he and everyone there were very welcoming and I had a great experience. The tattoo is so badass and shows so much artistic ability and craftsmanship. Highly highly recommend Tracy and his crew to anyone considering getting tattooed.

I walked in here and was immediately greeted by everyone even though they were pretty busy.So I just had to leave a review.If you’re looking for a piercer who’s a master with a needle but also a burst of sunshine, go here, ask for Jahnessa. I left with a piercing and a mood boost! I will be back.Not only did she make the piercing process feel like a breeze (I barely felt a thing), but her follow-up game is strong. She checked in on me, making sure my ears were healing up perfectly. And when I needed a jewelry change, she was available. Came in on a whim last friday for a simple helix piercing after having such a horrible week! Elo made my experience an absolute dream! i’ve never been to such a laid back, clean, and professional environment. the shop itself is just so beautiful. This tattoo shop is the cleanest and most tasteful decorated I’ve seen. And Tracey is pretty amazing. He revamped my 10 year old tat. And was able to bring 2 different styles together and make it cohesive.

This will be my third tattoo with Nick and I honestly couldnt be more happy with our first session. Hes easy to work with and will definitely be able to give you a badass piece of ink. I was referred to Painstaking Art Tattoo Shop by a friend, I had a inspiration picture and BOY did Nick NAIL IT 100% my husband got our 6 year old daughter’s name tattooed on him (in her handwriting) and it is the cutest thing ever! John did my husband’s. Tracy was very communicative with me before the process and quickly answered any questions I had. The shop is very clean and sanitary. I will definitely be going back again! Definitely give them a try you won’t regret it.

This place had good reviews and is in the neighborhood, so I decided to check it out. I love all the taxidermy inside and its a very clean establishment. I felt welcomed as soon as I walked inside, I never felt uncomfortable. They thoroughly answered all my questions and the estimates were very reasonable, especially considering the work they do. I wasnt planning on getting a tattoo so soon, but I came back the next day for their Friday the 13th Halloween party and fell in love with some of the designs. I ended up getting 3 tattoos that day. Armin Pozos was my artist and he did an excellent job. He was very easy going, professional, friendly, and patient. I felt very comfortable having him tattoo me. The tattoos came out exceptionally clean, his line work is impressive. I will definitely return for more tattoos in the future. I highly recommend this tattoo shop.

This place is amazing! Super clean, awesome staff and owners. Tracy has done all of the tattoos that I’m proud of and even offered to fix one that someone else messed up. Also he is in the process of doing my sleeve. I always trust his judgement when I give him ideas and he has always exceeded expectations when I see what he draws up. All of the artists there are great and highly skilled.

This is an amazing shop with great professional artists. I got to work up my own traditional Japanese design with Tracy for a upper arm sleeve and it has turned out amazing!! No blowouts or fading I’m super happy with the results. Definitely 5 stars for these guys and definitely would recommend anyone to get their tattoo done here.

Best tattoo place in town! It is one of the cleanest in town. I have had both arms done with various types of tattoos from traditional to letting Tracy do free hand drawings. Tracy is simply the best! I trust him to do all my artwork. He is so immensely talented!

Tracy Lambright has tattooed my entire arm and I am itching for more. This studio on Canal street is the prefect setting for the quality of work Tracy provides. It is extremely comfortable and well decorated. The artwork and furniture bring a level of class not usually associated with tattoo parlors. Tracy has decades of experience although he is a younger guy. He has a light touch, works fast and specializes in larger traditional and/or Japanese pieces. I strongly recommend Tracy for your next large custom tattoo. Our last session, he drew a dagger freehand and it looks amazing.

Im almost done with a fabulous sleeve thanks to Tracy. He was one of three people I was considering for this project. Ultimately he had the best vision for incorporating a number of elements in a cohesive way. Hes a very talented artist.Since he opened his place Painstaking Art, Ive been impressed by the layout of the shop, the talented group hes put together and how comfortable everything is. The place is clean, cool looking and with comfortable tables that can be adjusted in a number of positions depending where your piece is going. Clearly a lot of time and thought went into setting up this shop.Additionally, Tracy is fun to work and chat with (and I should know as over 60 hours have gone into this piece). We talk about everything ranging from the origin of Japanese tattoos to musical genres and the recent taming of his wilder beast hair (now cut in a kinda metro-dude short cut, courtesy of his take-charge girlfriend).This brings me to an important thing: Tracy is professional and very respectful while working on clients. As a woman (albeit a non-traditional-one), Tracy is very respectful working around (lets call them) girl bits.My sleeve extends just above my chest. A lot of my female friends that have gotten tattooed elsewhere in more delicate areas have relayed some real creeper stories. Ive had none of that with Tracy. I feel comfortable with him regardless of where hes working. I dont think hed tolerate disrespectful behavior from anyone in his shop, and the artists hes brought on have stellar reputations - think folks like Gabe Bayles aka Big Gabe.So, in addition to being a great artist and a fun guy to talk to with a clean, hip and modern Tattoo shop, Painstaking Art is also a place where women getting work done can feel at home.Im looking forward to finishing my current sleeve and having Tracy start some work on my other arm. Really glad I found him!

Tracy Lambright is the best and most knowledgeable Japanese-Americano tattoo artist I’ve met and worked with. Love all of his work and how passionate he is about what he does. I have been getting tattoos from Tracy Lambright since 2003. I have 5 large pieces done (over 100 hours worth) and he is the only artist I will ever have tattoo me. He is an amazing artist, which has evolved to an even better friend. ALL of my tattoos have been cover up so when I was looking to get them covered up I knew I needed to find someone who was not just creative but could transfer OUR vision to my skin. One of the reasons I choose Tracy to do my first cover up was he was extremely approachable. I was already a bit intimidated walking into a tattoo shop but he quickly made me feel comfortable. We compared horrible tattoo experiences and I told him a bit about what I wanted to do. He gave me some creative ideas which instantly gave me hope that I could turn my current tattoo into a bright, crisp piece. I looked through his portfolio book which was on the counter and saw some of his before and after photos of his work on other cover up. I put a small deposit down which secured my appointment and covered the time he would send drawing my tattoo. We broke the tattoo into 6 appointment each one being about 3 hours long and by the end of our sessions I had my sleeve. Ever since then I have made several friends in his shop. They are all amazing artist which can all do great tattoos. My wife has gotten tattoos by several of them. I’m my opinion you get what you pay for and a tattoo is something that you should never compromise the quality. You can’t go wrong with this shop. Tracy, Big Gabe or any of the other artist in there are more than capable of making your custom piece become reality.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. I came in for an $80 flash special, and the staff treated me like I was there for hundreds of dollars worth of work. They were super friendly and helpful. Jonathan did a great job on my tattoo, I highly recommend him. Great experience overall, can’t wait to get my next one. Rarely can you find so many different styles under one roof and my buddy Tracy Albright opened his own shop with a desire to give the public what it wants!! Hes got hella experience and is a very cool dude... I had started a tattoo in San Diego years ago that I loved but part of it just didnt come out the way I wanted.I had searched for years to find somebody to help me fix it and make it the way I had seen it in my head and on the screen that my father had brought back from Japan. Tracy totally was on board from the get-go and without having to trace anything he just looked at my arm, once I explained what I had hoped to have, he just went with his vision of it and I couldnt be happier in fact its turned out so good it made me go back to the gym and lose 40 lb so that I could be the stud I am on the insid!!! If youre looking for a very clean tattoo studio with a very cool and eclectic staff I highly suggest you go and check out his studio, its top notch and hes one of the best Ive ever encountered!!
