Took my 10 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. The staff were super friendly and supportive of this being her first experience with piercings. Would highly recommend!!!

I keep trying to post a picture but google doesnt like me. I was a walk in, waited maybe 30/45 minutes for James to get my tattoo printed and to size. 2 inches exactly. I wanted a tape measure on my finger. Im a Jill of all trades and it may come in handy one day. Im so happy with it!!!

My favorite tattoo place. Not only do they have some very talented tattoo artists, but they are reasonably priced and stand by their work. My hubby has been to Ian and Sam and they both did exceptional jobs. I’ve been to Jo several times now as she already did one tattoo for me (my goonies tattoo and I had Corey Feldman sign my arm under it). And she is working on my sleeve now that included a portrait piece with my mom’s face. I cannot even tell you how exceptional it is. Just look at the picture. Down to the finest detail and anyone who knew my mom immediately recognizes who it is as it just that realistic. I’ve gotten so many compliments so far so I cannot wait to see what it will look like when my entire arm is completed. And to mention, everyone I’ve come in contact with is not only super helpful, but also have great personalities. Now - each artist is different in how they do their bookings and how they draw up your concept. I personally love how Jo has her bookings set up. All online and I appreciate that and that she takes cards. I absolutely hate calling places and talking on the phone so online is my preference. I also hate having to go up to the shop just to talk to someone, so like I said I love the online options. But keep in mind that’s only for Jo that I have experience with and the other artists have different procedures.

Took my daughter to get her ears pierced and it was a great experience. They involved her in every decision and helped her feel comfortable. Shes so excited to start the school year with her new pierced ears.

I’ve gotten two tattoos from different artists at Blackhearts this year, and couldn’t be happier with the work they did. The shop atmosphere is laid back, comfortable, and has all around good vibes. Ian did a great job on my cat skull and picked some really fun colors. Meanwhile Chess has an awesome artistic eye and created a stunning olive branch that might just be one of my favorite pieces. Both have healed like a dream, and I’ll definitely be back for more.

Friendly staff. Happy to help with my little walk-in idea before I headed back north. Sam did exactly what I asked and was done rather quickly. Kori was fun to chat with. Now my picture is just 3 days post-tattoo, so keep that in mind. I wanted a little memory of my second visit to Huntsville. 🚀

Unlike the Karen who was complaining about his wife’s “overpriced, dime sized tattoo,” my wife and I could NOT be more pleased with the work we received from Black Heart Tattoo!! Inclement weather kept us in Huntsville for an extra day, so we called Black Heart to ask if they could take on a few walk ins, and they were happy to oblige! They work in a clean & sterile environment, their pricing was reasonable and within our budget, the work from both artists was stellar and the atmosphere made us feel right at home! Don’t hesitate letting these guys get to work on you!

Very good customer service when I called 2x on two different days. I just needed a dermal top. Very good reasonable price. The young lady good fast service with awsome communication. Went here looking for some replacement jewelry. Dont let the outside of this place turn you away. Its very roomy and clean on the inside. Everyone working there was friendly, and they didnt try and sell me something I didnt need/want.Would recommend!

Carsten is FANTASTIC! This shop is so clean and professional and has a fun environment. I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know because they take care of their customers so well. I received my first tattoo and first piercing from Carsten as well as all of them since then and the workers are so thorough with explaining what they are doing during the process as well as explaining the best after care procedures. When I presented my tattoo ideas to Carsten, he truly made them come to life with perfect detail and I couldn’t be happier with them.

Me and friend went yesterday to get some piercings. We were walk ins but didn’t have to wait long at all. Jo greeted us at the counter and was super nice and helpful. The place had a cool vibe to it and it was clean. Shelby done our piercings and I have to say we were both blown away by her. She was so cool and knows her job! I’ll definitely be going back for more piercings and maybe a tat or two. I highly recommend Shelby for all your piercing needs! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Do not go here!!! Overpriced!!! Bad quality!!!! My wife got a tattoo less than the size of a dime and was charged a $100!!!!! Typically you pay for quality but her tattoo has all but disappeared in less than a week. When we spoke to the owner he yelled and offered $20 and thought we would let him or anyone else in his shop touch or skin again. Beware if you still decide to go here.Edit: Owner is now below lying in the comments. Never said we were happy, now footage has been pulled and quotes have been pulled from thin air. I’d imagine some of the reviews are fake at this point. Ironic multiple reviews populated after my experience was posted.

Francesco does all my tattoos he’s literally the best! Nicest tattoo artist I’ve ever met. Also black heart is such a great place. The perfect place for any piercings or tattoos !

I feel taken advantage of. My mom passed away a year ago so I came to this shop on 12/20/23 which is my mom’s bday to get a tattoo to honor her. My husband and I both just wanted a heart on our hand to match the heart she had. This shop was highly recommended by 2 of my family members who’ve sent them a lot of business and have gotten a lot of work done there. So it was to my surprise that when I get there they charged both my husband and I $100 for a heart tattoo on our hand the size of a nickle that took the artists 6 minutes to do. I was shocked that something so small cost so much so I asked for a bday discount since it was my moms bday and they said no and that I could get the tattoo anywhere else for $80 but this is where we wanted it. We thought we were going to pay like $25-$50 a piece but we’re sadly mistaken. Because we were there on my mom’s bday I didn’t want to leave without getting it so we reluctantly agreed but I’m having buyers remorse. I feel like we were drastically overcharged and like it wasn’t worth what we paid. I called the next day and asked to speak with the owner but of course I got the runaround. When I showed my family members who referred us they looked at the tattoo and laughed and then became upset once they found out how much we paid. They couldn’t believe that this work had come from the same tattoo shop. This was a bit of a let down to have experienced on my moms bday. My intentions were pure but the tattoo isn’t best.

Carson did an AMAZING job! Great lines, great fill ins. When they were designing, very patient with creating the image to exactly how I wanted it. Ive seen them replace stenciling before to make sure it was perfect to the person getting tattooed. Could not recommend this place more!

I got ear piercings back in September by Shelby and again in February. She does a great job! Very happy with the service.Since posting about my piercing experience from last year, I have since gotten a few tattoos done by Jo McClure and I highly recommend her work. She is very talented and professional.

Shelby has done a couple of piercings for me and I’m very happy with them! She’s very easy to talk to and very professional and always takes the time to make sure placement is perfect before she pierces. Everything was clean and the the atmosphere was very comfortable. Definitely recommend Shelby for any piercings.

Awesome Shop! They did an amazing job on my daughters piercings & we will definitely be coming back! We were a walk-in (better to book an appointment of course) & they got us done in no time. They even let me bring my toddler in & while I dont recommend doing that, as a single mom, it was cool that I could. Overall they were awesome & I highly recommend them!

Very crass and pretentious tattoo shop to only have one artist that’s actually any good. Ian is the only artist in there who offers both good customer service and quality work. Dont waste your money here it’s not worth it!

Got my Septum Peircing done here yesterday, it was a completely quick and painless experience made all the better by some pretty rad people -- its a few hours later and with the advice they gave me the swelling is minimal and pain almost non-existent (aside from me accidentally hitting myself in the face with a box, even that was only a sting)I will 100% be going back if I decide to get another piercing, or when I decide to get another tattoo.

Shelby was my piercer! Super quick and professional. They didn’t have any flat back piercings for my nose ready so she told me to come back at 1 the next day, she had a pink one picked out(to match my other side) and ready to go. Took about all of 7 minutes for the whole piercing!

The place seemed clean. I called ahead of time to check on youth ear piercings. They said walk-ins are welcome. Then when I got there at 12 (when they opened), they said there’s only one girl who does them and she wouldn’t be in until 3. A simple heads up over the phone would’ve been the preferred route to take. Disappointed to say the least.

Seriously, the friendly tattoo shop I have ever been in. I went in for a small tattoo and a piercing and they were so accommodating. I have multiple tattoos but no piercings besides my ears so I was terrified to get pierced. Shelby was absolutely fantastic, explained the whole process, and made sure I was completely comfortable before she stabbed me. I would recommend her and Black Hearts to anyone looking for a down to earth, no bs tattoo shop!!

This place is phenomenal! Absolutely amazing! Sterile and great work. Carston has given me 2 tattoos, and 3 piercings and all of them are very well done, and after every piercing, hes always told me to come back, and hed change it the first time for free. Also I got a screw stuck on one of my plugs in my ear, and he removed it for me for free, very informative, and kind. Great place.

I went in to get a helix and an upper lobe piercing. I was just doing a walk-in so I figured Id have a bit of a wait but it was actually a fairly quick process. My piercer was really great, made sure the piercings were gonna be where I wanted, explaining what she was doing, putting me at ease, and just making it go smoothly, and the prices were really reasonable too. Definitely gonna go back here for future piercings!

I went in today to get my nipples pierced and it was the best experience Ive ever had at a shop! They look amazing!! Im a strange person because I love piercings but I have a phobia of needles. Carsten was very reassuring and very accommodating for my fear! I will definitely be going back for the rest of my piercings and will be recommending them to anyone I know looking to get pierced!

Got my daith pierced here and it was magical! He was super professional, and very calming, very informative about both the piercing itself and the migraine help that it gives as well. Wonderful about walking through cleaning process. Have never had a better piercing experience!

I wrote my initial review after getting my Helix pierced. Im about 4 weeks removed from a nostril piercing. Its healing quite well, Ive been able to swap my jewelry, and have no piercing bumps. I was a walk-in and Cartsen was able to do my piercing. Being a walk-in, the 15-20 minutes I waited wasnt bad at all. My piercing was quick and painless.Just went in for a cartilage ear piercing (helix). They were super quick, and the piercing was almost painless. Shop looked clean, and they had a reasonable price.Edited to update that my piercing is healing well, and is no longer tender to the touch. Will definitely come back for future piercings.

I got nose/ear piercings with Shelby. First of all…I went somewhere when I was in ATL to get my nose a few weeks ago. It ended up coming out and I called BH and she said could come down and she would try to get it back in. Unfortunately, it would not, but she offered to do it again once healed. I went back today and she did SUCH A GOOD JOB! It didn’t hurt as near as much, didn’t bleed at all compared the the previous when it was literally gushing! She was professional, explained everything, personal and fun to talk to. I will be going back and recommending everyone to her! Shelby deserves a raise!!

Best shop, best staff, best environment, best work. Ian has done my arms, legs, knee, head, and most recently I had him and Sam work together on my stomach/chest but I vouch for all of them. Ian, Sam, Adriana, and Carsten are all very professional, extremely personable, and fantastic at their jobs. I took a design in hoping to get a cover up on an old tattoo. Sam worked his magic and now I have received nothing but compliments on how good the new tattoo looks. He did an amazing job! I would definitely recommend Black Hearts to anyone looking for a great tattoo experience.

We walked in for 3 ear piercings. They were very friendly and helpful. My little one was so upset and didnt think she would get her ears pierced that day because every place we called said that they were too busy to see us. Tristan did our piercings and we couldnt be happier. He was patient with my little one and talked her through the process and took time with her when she was crying. Would recommend.

I went in for a nose piercing today, Sam was great. He was professional and clean, and even though I had already had experience with the same piercing, he went over how to care for it and preventative measures for other issues like keloids. The only reason Im not leaving 5 stars is because I called and asked for someone else and when I got there I was told another artist would be working with me. I dont mind at all now, but asking me ahead of time would have been nice especially since I called and requested someone.

The piercer who booked our appointment was exceptionally nice. He was professional over the phone and answered all our questions. However, upon arrival to our appointment we were informed the piercer was out sick today. We drove 30minutes to our appointment only to be told he was out today, we left our phone number when we booked the appointment and at least a phone call to let us know that he wouldn’t be there would’ve been nice. Do better!

Absolutely love this place! Sam does all of the work for my husband and I. He is so creative and can take any idea and make it even better than you realized it could be. We both have had several tattoos done by him and will keep going back. Thanks black heart and staff for being awesome 👏🏼

I went here to get my nose pierced and they were extremely nice. They had some of the best customer service I’ve ever seen. The girl that did mine was super cool and I’ll definitely be going back here when I get the other side of my nose pierced!

Clean facility, friendly staff, talented work and will follow up if you have a problem with a piercing, I have had to change out daith jewelry multiple times due to either skin sensitivity or medical procedure and they always do a great job of keeping the piercing site healthy. Best to make an appointment since they are so good, they are in high demand, making an appointment will allow them to give you the best service possible.

I got my very first tattoo from here October 13th of last year. It was during a Friday the 13th special, and they had a lot of $20 designs to choose from. I went with a simple rose. I believe each artist drew up their own flash sheet and worked with whoever wanted a design from their sheet, so I ended up getting mine done by Carsten. The whole place was really clean. He made the experience pleasant, answered my questions, gave me plenty of aftercare advice, was just really cool to talk to in general. Everyone in the shop was friendly. I wish I remembered the name of the woman who was working at the counter; the place was super packed and she was trying to make sure everything was running as smooth and quickly as possible, and she was really patient with anybodys inquiries. Anyway, you guys are rad, and Ill definitely be back sometime.

I went to get a centapied tattoo, and I must say I was blown away by the amazing artwork that was done by Ian. I said centapied and was absolutely blown away with what he drew up. 10/10 in every aspect. Everything is very clean and sanitary as well as amazing and quick service to those who want work done.

Got off work late and was running late for my appointment. Carsten told me to come on down and he would take care of me. He pierced my nipples and I am totally stoked with the outcome! I was very nervous about it but Carsten put me completely at ease and we were done in a matter of minutes. Within 24 hours I felt absolutely zero pain whatsoever so It is safe to say that Carsten did an Awesome 😎 job!!! He also went over instructions very carefully on how to clean my piercings to keep them from getting infected and gave me a print out of what to use during the healing process.The studio was very sanitary and everyone was very friendly! They made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I plan on going back on Friday to have Carsten do my tongue piercing. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.I HIGHLY recommend anyone considering piercings to visit Black Hearts!

Was determined to get my nose repierced, everyone was closed, they were open! I went and got my 4th redo and she let me even dot it myself! She was very sweet and didn’t rush me. I went in for one of their specials. In this case, it was a Friday the 13th as well as a 4th Anniversary celebration. I was a few people behind in the line, so I had time to really enjoy the atmosphere of the shop. The artists were well-organized and aside from a few last second preparations, they were ready to go. When my time came, I was taken care of by Carsten who was incredibly friendly, especially with me being more of a novice to tattoos. Even with it being a flash piece and part of a special I didnt feel that the piece was being rushed or that any detail was being sacrificed for speed. Hell, even now Im still noticing little details I didnt notice when I first got it! I definitely look forward to going back and getting more work done!

This place was amasing to me. Got a daith piercing, and was treated very nicely. The people are nice. They give you good instructions on how to care for your piercing and/or tattoo. My mother has been inked here and says the same. Its a great place to go.

Terrible service, everyone has a terrible attitude towards the people and their choice of work. Bad communication on the art pieces. And if you’re like me and use Ian, he will mention that they do a free touch up and never book a date with you. You can definitely get a tattoo here, but don’t get one that you’re gonna spend a lot of money on, or means a lot to you.

Dont come here if you want good customer service. I called to make an appointment and was informed that they dont actually do appointments for piercings. I was told that 5:30pm would be a good time to come. I arrived early at 5:20 and was told that I would be helped by 5:45pm... I was still waiting at 6:30pm. When I asked how much longer I would be waiting, I was then told someone else still needed to be helped ahead of me. I waited over an hour and still received no help. On top of that, the lady at the receptionist desk had a nasty attitude and was very rude and unhelpful. Dont plan on going back. Horrible service.

This review is specifically about the artist JAMES SPEAKE! My husband and I got hand tattoos on Thursday evening (2/4) and by early Saturday morning (2/6) I was hospitalized and given emergency IV antibiotics for severe Cellulitis that had infected my entire hand! When I was recovered enough to speak, I called the parlor and spoke to the owner. He did apologize and explained how the needles are single use only. He also wanted me to say that my husbands tattoo did not get infected, but a different needle was used on him than on me. Also, the artist James Speake told my husband that the cleaning product (green soap) that he uses for prepping the tattoo site he dilutes so it doesnt sting as much. Mind you, green soap is what is used to not only prep the area being tattooed, but is also used to prep the tattoo machines and removes dirt, blood, and any tattoo ink. Diluting it makes it lose its effectiveness. AND I GOT AN INFECTION!The shop was nice. The owner was nice. Staff was nice. Just avoid James. I bet they have a ton of other artists that not only do great work but also dont dilute their green soap.

My daughter needed her tongue piercing put back in and were new to the area. The girl that helped get it back in was great. Popped I right back in and we were out the door in less than 10 minutes.

Got my tongue done yesterday. I was a walk-in so I did have quite a bit of a wait time. Ive had it done before but let it close some years ago. He was able so use that same placing which is what I was wanting. Thank for giving me my lil baby back. Me and the bestie will be back in the near future.

Made an appointment to get a tattoo. After waiting for an hour and a half while walk in piercings were taken before me I left.Update: They will send bs through the mail to your house also! They were talking about it in the shop while I waited and waited. Then this week it came in! I got bad customer service and they still harass me!? I sat there and waited while 2 walkins were helped and he had a sandwhich. It was ridiculous!

I got a piercing done there. Didnt hurt much at all. Staff was friendly and very nice. They were very professional. I would go back for more piercings. It was very clean in there. The experience was great.

Went there today with my girlfriend who had an infected naval piercing, we went in there to try to get this resolved. We walked in and he said it would cost $10, and we were fine with that. My girlfriend was telling him what was wrong and her experience with it and he said i’m not working on that you can go back to the place that “fu***** you up”. After, throwing away her $70 belly button piercing that she paid without asking and telling her she was ripped off. Then he walked out and randomly left while she was bleeding and not providing any gauze and he said don’t worry about the $10? Made no sense terrible customer service and first time experience.

Honestly one of the best places to get any piercings or tattoo work. I trust Carsten with any work I need done. Just completely professional! They really know how to make you feel comfortable.

Had multiple piercings done at one time ...they were super awesome ...very clean about the set up and the actual piercing....very knowledgeable about each piercing and gave me alot of great info about how to care for them and what to expect as far as the healing process goes ...will definitely be back for more and highly recommend them to anyone!

I got my belly button pierced here. amazing service. i was super nervous and the reassured me that i would be fine. he talked to me the whole time and it got my mind off of it. i plan on going in tomorrow to get my nose pierced!!

I got my septum pierced by Carsten. He was really chill and made me feel at ease while I was nervous. It was a good price and it took a lot less time than I thought it would.

The artists at this studio are phenomenal! The waiting area is super cozy and warm. And the staff is very friendly! We will most definitely be collecting more work from Carsten!

I went in to get prices for a cover up. The receptionist rolled her eyes several times within the couple of minutes I was in this establishment. When I called to see if they were open she was rude on the phone. Hung up without saying bye or anything.

Great artwork, Tattoo looked very good.They did a great job explaining how to care for the tattoo. I gave a 4 because of the f word was used too many times. The music they play is filthy.

Wife got a daith piercing and it literally knocked out the headache she had. Carson did a excellent job and was very professional and made it painless. I would definitely recommend this place.

UPDATE: 14 November 2017I did return on November 10th for my tongue piercing with Carsten and everything went as flawlessly as my first session with him. Same comments as I had above!Most people complain about swelling of the tongue and have to wait a week before the longer initial piercing can be removed. With Carsten’s Expertise in piercing I had zero swelling of the tongue and was able to receive the normal barbell piercing the following Monday.After my piercing, Sam tattooed an image on the inside of my wife’s wrist in honor of her father who passed away 4 months ago. She gave him the general idea of what she wanted, he ran with it, and had the perfect sketching completed in a matter of minutes. After about 45 minutes Sam had completed the tattoo and it was wonderful! My wife absolutely loved it! Sam was very professional and compassionate towards my wife and what she was going through with her fathers passing.I cannot express enough the gratitude I feel for the treatment we were given by the staff of Black Hearts Tattoo and Piercings.I shall be returning to see Carsten for my PA and Lorum piercings and my wife shall be returning to have Sam fix a botched tattoo someone else gave her.Again, I highly recommend Black Hearts to anyone looking for a tattoo or piercing!
