Forbidden Tattoo and Piercing

Was recommended this place for my first tattoo! My artist was Lucas and he was so awesome! The place was super clean and the staff was really nice. I gave Lucas a photo of the tattoo I wanted and he gave it some tweaks that made it look so much better! He was friendly and kept conversation during our session and his work was efficient and beautiful. He answered any questions I had and even explained the process. I will definitely be going back here for my next tattoo!

Angi repierced my philtrum today and she was amazing! We laughed and had good conversation leading up to the piercing, which eased my nerves and made me feel super comfortable. Despite having to get past a bunch of scar tissue from the old piercing, she got it perfectly straight and I couldnt be any happier with the outcome! I will definitely be coming back to Angi for any future piercings.

Highly recommend Angi for piercing . She was pleasant, approachable, professional and knowledgeable. The overall atmosphere of the facility was friendly and clean. We made an appointment and had no wait time.

Professional, clean, friendly, and such a beautiful shop! Ive been pierced by the incredible piercing artist Megan and Tattooed by the phenomenal artist Gabriel Luna here and its my go to tattoo shop even though its 12 hours from home! I will gladly make the drive anytime for these folks, Ive never felt as welcomed in a shop as I did here.

Got a Frenum piercing today and love it so much. Alexis was wonderful about keeping it as pain free as possible and the price wasnt bad either.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I wemt in for my first tattoo which was a sword down the middle of my back. I had a consultation with Buddy and he was awesome. He answered all of my questoons, gave me advice, and explained eveeything. It was such a great experiemce that Ive already booked my next appointment and Im working my third.

I stopped in as a walk in to get some piercings. First thing I’d say is I love the environment. It’s very welcoming and clean. The front desk employee was very helpful and got me checked in quickly. The person that did my piercing was Megan and the whole process was great. We talked about what I wanted, Megan provided some education on surface piercings and we ended up doing a different piercing because some jewelry had to be ordered. I love what I got and plan to go back ASAP to get more piercings. 10/10 recommend!

I took my daughter to get her ears pierced here. I loved everything about it they are very clean very professional. Megan was so awesome with my daughter. My daughter is turning 6 years old and she was ready to have her ears pierced and she did so good. I gave a 5 star and I wish I could give a 100000 star I definitely recommend!

Elite Tattoo has earned a customer for life. This was my first tattoo and I could not be happier. Josh and the staff were beyond professional from the instant I walked in. The atmosphere was friendly and accommodating. All of my questions were answered with a smile and years of expertise. The shop is extremely clean. Free snacks, comfy couches, and tasty jams. Sergio was the artist that gave me this beautiful piece. He is amazingly talented. Did I mention they stayed stayed until 11 pm to finish my tattoo? I am stoked to be a part of the Elite Tattoo family.

Went in to get two important tattoos with my wife and the experience was pure bliss! Extremely professional, clean and the whole staff is warm and welcoming. We had our three year old with us and the staff were so friendly to her it made the whole process that much better! I was told by many people to go here for our tattoos and I left so happy! In the five hours we were there we saw three other people leave happy with their results. I would highly recommend this establishment to everyone I know and we will be going back for huge piece on my back and possibly more!

I was super skeptical getting a tattoo so close to base but my expectations were surpassed! I came to Brandon with little idea of what I wanted other than the concept and he sent an idea my way that I absolutely loved! He took his time to perfect the work he done and I could not be happier with it! He has what I would consider “light hands” as this was the biggest and easiest tattoo I’ve ever received. The staff is extremely friendly and the shop is very clean. After moving here I did extensive research on artists in the area and I am so happy I found this shop. Brandon is super talented and I will recommend him to everyone in search of new ink!

My daughter went and got her naval pierced here and it was an unenjoyable experience. The piercer was not personable and did not let her pick her jewelry. The piercing ended up crooked and completely misplaced. The bar was too short and that led to quick infection. She had to get it taken out because it was so bad. Plus her boyfriend tried to get a flash as well and he was denied and was told that they didnt do flash. Would never go back

Absolutely wonderful experience. Ryan was my tattoo artist and I met with him three times, once for a consultation and two actual sessions. I was very impressed all three times I was there; the staff were all very friendly, great environment, and my tattoo came out better than I had originally envisioned it. I came in with a basic idea for a custom tattoo and Ryan drew the whole thing out, very impressed from start to finish. I highly recommend that anybody in the market for some new ink makes Elite their first stop, Im definitely going back.

Elite Tattoo Gallery is hands down the most professional and comfortable shop Ive ever been to. I have been in shops from Anchorage Alaska, all the way to Baltimore and everything in between.I am more than confident that every artist that works there is capable of producing exactly what is requested, and will do it better than any neighboring location in the area.The Artists are extremely welcoming and personable, and the environment is flawless. Good music, great artists, engaging conversation, and even complimentary food and beverages with free after care products! What more could you want in a tattoo experience!?

I went in for a couple piercings with Jessye and she really made me feel relaxed. She explained everything to me, what to expect before and after and just really put me at ease. She cleaned everything thoroughly in front of me and opened all new packets of sterile equipment. She gave me aftercare instructions and gave her personal cell to contact her with any questions or concerns and even said I could go in at any time if I needed her to take a look at the piercings to ensure they were healing right. I highly recommend this place. The guy on the front desk was really helpful also. He explained a bit about the procedure too and after it was all done gave me some anti microbial soap and recommended some salt spray too to help with healing. They were awesome and I will definitely go back.

Elite Tattoo is by far the nicest tattoo shop I have ever been to. I have gotten several tattoos over the years, but this place beats them all. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with a friendly face and offered complimentary snacks and drinks while you wait. I didnt wait long at all! I had an appointment with Gabriel for a pet portrait piece of my dog. He did such an amazing job on it, I still cant stop looking at it! His talent is insane. I have gotten so many compliments on how beautiful it is. So thank you, Gabriel, and Elite for such a wonderful experience. The vibe of the place is so laid back and chill, and I cant wait to come back in the future for more ink. Now I dont want to go anywhere else! :)

This shop is one of the cleanest and friendliest in Jacksonville. They treat everyone like family and welcome everyone immediately. The artists are all extremely talented and take time to get to know exactly what you are looking for and put forth the some of the best work I have seen. Their piercer is highly talented and Ive barely felt any of the piercings Ive gotten from him. The receptionists are always super friendly and ready to help you with whatever it is that you are looking for. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone and will continue to go to them for my tattoo and piercing needs.

Have been to this shop for 5 sessions so far, and a great experience every time. From them calling ahead go remind you of your appointment, to maintaining a VERY clean shop, and following strict Covid protocols, this shop is my personal go-to.Both the artists Ive gone to, Bud and Chris did a great job on all of my artwork, and the owner is very nice as well. Really no down sides here. Even when I had one sessions that was a cover up and it scabbed pretty badly due to my own oversight, the artist was in touch with me every step of the way to help me get it healed correctly.If you want a good quality tattoo around JVegas, this is it.

I have been to two other tattoo parlors and never had the experience that I have had here. This was the most wonderful experience I have ever had. When I came into the parlor I was expecting to be treated as a piece of meat. I was not I was treated as if I was a friend. The staff is so friendly and the art work is unbelievable. I had my leg tattooed by Nick and he also fixed my arm tattoo. It was very inexpensive and has a feeling as if you’re at home. The owner and her husband are very friendly and aren’t afraid to make suggestions on changing your tattoo for the good. Over all I will recommend Elite Tattoo Gallery & Body Piercing Studio to anybody whom is looking for a detailed tattoo.

It was a great experience with the tattoo artist Stephen.He was very thorough when trying to create the image of what I wanted during the consultation. He was very clear and honest about the possible timing and price. So when the day came and I told him that I dont want what he drew for me but instead Id rather have tattooed the original picture I had, he kindly honored my decision and took his time to draw up a new stencil. Tattoo took shorter than i expected 2,5 hours, and it was done in very professional manner and was interrupted with 2 minute break, so that I could check out how the lining came out.Overall, the artist and the whole personnel provided high quality customer service and I would recommend it to anyone who seeks high quality tattoo art work.

Just got my tattoo done and HOLY BALLS this place is awesome! Melissa did my tattoo and she did an amazing job. Everyone is so cool and fun; they really made me feel comfortable there. My tattoo turned out great and the price was good as well. We liked them so much, we brought them candy thongs and swords for gifts ;)They loved it like only amazing people would. Definitely coming back!Update: Just tried their Hustle Butter and Im pretty certain its made out of unicorn tears. This stuff is heavenly.

Elite was very clean and an amazing environment. I went to the elite and saw Lindsey. She did such a phenomenal job on my tattoo. I didn’t wanna go to just anyone. I saw her portfolio of tattoos and knew she would do my bunny justice. It came out perfect and super realistic. She’s amazing and I would totally go again.

I really liked the look of the shop! The people were very friendly. I went in to get a naval piercing and the piercer there was extremely nice and welcoming. She was super friendly and upbeat! Its been 2 weeks since I got it done and it is healing nicely and she placed it perfectly. I will be going back to get my half sleeve tattoo eventually as I was very impressed by the work I saw in the portfolios.

I had my nose pierced by Megan about a month ago after having it out for about two years, and the healing process has been going beautifully! Probably the best since my first two over the last 8 years. She was very informative, sterile, and thorough while making sure everything was explained clearly. Top tier professionalism! I showed up on time to my appointment with Gabriel Luna. He refused to tattoo me, and stole my deposit. He claimed my skin was ‘damaged’ and that ‘you need to MOISTURIZE 3 times a day.’ I specifically DIDN’T use product that day, as I WAS GETTING TATTOOED. Smells like a scam to me. Fine if you want to refuse me service, but then you should return my $180 deposit. There are PLENTY of other DECENT artists in the area.. don’t waste your money here.*Photo is of my “sunburnt skin” where my tattoo was going to go. Yet he was more concerned with a dry spot on the BACK of my shoulder. 🤔ETA: I never signed a single thing. And the 80+ year old woman (Ann) who supposedly owns the place thinks that making up lies and calling me a Karen makes her look… good? She also tried to claim I gave them a fake address. She actually seems to know very little about what’s happening at her ‘business.’ I’m not the first one they’ve done this to, so beware. She can’t even keep her stories straight with her own employees. Don’t trust them with your body.

I’ve had a great experience with Megan as my piercer. She’s done two piercings for me this past week. She’s super professional, understanding, and easy going. She makes it as simple for you as possible and so I will continue coming here for any future piercings. Couldn’t have been more satisfied.

The experience we had here was amazing! My husband and I got our puppys paw print and her name! It turned out amazing. I would recommend this to anyone. It is a 40 minute drive for us that is totally worth it!The staff is awesome. The artist we had was wicked awesome! Cant wait for our next appointment with him!

First the place is clean and the staff are professional and kind. They’re also extremely accommodating, they had snacks and water out front in the waiting area.Next, my artist Brandon, was extremely professional, clean and very talented. I highly recommend him for your next tattoo. You can see a few of his art pieces around the studio itself, they’re beautiful.If you’re looking to get some ink done, this is the place to go. Keep in mind, that when you’re paying for ink, you’re paying for quality. This was one of my more expensive tattoos, but it was worth the money spent. You get what you pay for here.

I am highly unhappy with the service of the ear piercer. I’ve had issues with my piercings since Megan did them and I’ve tried contacting her on two separate occasions about the issues I’ve been having. The first time I contacted her she told me that I could come in, to take a look at the piercing; once I got to the tattoo parlor the receptionist told me that she wasn’t there and she would be gone for a month because she had Covid. We can’t control Covid, so I just let it go. I waited a while and then tried contacting her again about the issues that I am still having, she responded to my initial message and then stopped responding mid conversation. It’s extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

Very chill environment, the staff really makes you feel at home. The price for piercings is competitive for Jacksonville $60 for my septum. Once its fully healed Ill comment on the Artist and piercing. However, I love it so far!

Lucas is an amazing artist. This was my first tattoo, so I was being quite picky and particular, and he was so great about designing the tattoo. I told him this would be my only one, but I think I might have tattoo fever.... The tattoo turned out beautiful and I love everything about it.

Shop is clean, aesthetically pleasing, and they provide complimentary snacks while you wait. Jessye, their piercer is first rate. Ive seen decent tattoo work come out of there. But if youre not interested in having your time wasted with scheduling issues and rude front desk people, I suggest you go elsewhere. Ive had my appointments canceled by them at the last minute twice in the last 9 months.

Moe was awesome. He gave me exactly what I wanted and even added a little bit extra to make it even better than I expected. I gave him a tattoo and then changed my mind the day of. He instantly said that’s fine and drew it up. Very friendly employees. I am super happy with my tattoo and will definitely come back.

I will start out by saying Will was amazing! He was very professional, patient, and did a great job. He gets 5 stars all around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️However, the entire process was a giant nightmare. I called to see about making an appointment to get “a dime size” tattoo done. The lady on the phone said they required a consultation for an appointment and to just stop in whenever. So, my friend and I did just that. Turns out, we really didn’t need the consultation because of the simplicity and size (like I stated on the phone multiple times). So they said they could get us right in that night. Well we had plans and wanted to make an appointment for later in the week. We were gifted 2 $50 gift cards from a competition that was won so we wanted to use them. They said we had to put a $40 deposit down to hold the appointment spot and that we would be refunded the deposit so we could use our gift cards. Weird but okay, sure.Night of tattoo, Will was amazing! Everything was great until the checkout process. The new girl at the desk was very awesome, and super kind. She was new so she needed some help. An older woman (much older) was called up to help. She seemed extremely put off by this “inconvenience” of having to issue refunds to use our gift cards. She then turned her nose up about the cards, saying they were super old and had the most disgusting look on her face with an extremely disrespectful tone. My friend and I are both managers of salons, like we get it. But I have never seen such disrespectful behavior. She made us feel so uncomfortable! On top of it all, this was my FIRST TATTOO EXPERIENCE! Totally ruined it. So after an annoying amount of time and 3 staff members later, we were done. As I turned my car on, I saw her race to the window and stare at us through the glass. Like are you serious? Unbelievable! I held my tongue through the entire process because I was raised to be respectful, and treat everyone with that same respect. She was awful! As much as I wanted to go back in, I don’t think I ever will.It’s really a shame that such a toxic person works in such a cool place with great talent.

Got my nipples repierced after having them out for like 8 years. After all that time I still remembered how brutal the pain was from having them pierced and was fully prepared to have a similar experience. That was NOT the case! I was made to feel very comfortable with the process and Megan was such a pro the pain was not even half of what I went through the first time. It is still a piercing so it isnt completely painless, but Im sure it was as close to that as it can get. Highly recommend this place for piercings!!

Read the reviews and decided....well why not? I was a walk-in, I only knew what items I wanted incorporated with my tattoo and where i wanted it. They took me back right away were ready to make the perfect design for me and it was for a great price for how well it turned out. I already have another appointment! I loved this place. My 5th tattoo as well......its my favorite tattoo parlor so far!!♡

TL:DR - completely amazing, 10/10, highly reccomend.Now for the long version- I have wanted a tattoo since I was 16, im now 25, I waited 9 years for my very first tattoo and I have been fiddling with design ideas of what I wanted for the past 4 years,. I sent them my image and was booked a consultation.The enviorment of the shop : stunning, clean, smells great, beautifully designed, very well taken care of, the art on the walls is beautiful, you can seriously tell they care. The nice lady at the desk was so nice. (i didnt grab her name)So far my first impression is off to a great start.Meeting my artist - My artist was Moe (moeink88 on insta- look him up) THE WORLDS BEST MUSTACHE, I handed him my design, we talked a bit, I booked the appointment, super excited, first tattoo vibes and leftNow I am anxious by nature so I was super nervous, I knew I liked his work from checking and re-checking his instagram, looking over my favorite tattoos and what not of his work and the waiting game began.!!TATTOO DAYYYYY!!Saturday (today) rolls up, I show up and he is drawing a version of what I had on a flat piece of paper into a readable, flowing, art for the skin design. I thought mine was good, but his was way better- let me just say - *TRUST YOUR ARTIST* because oh my god. I couldnt have asked for a better tattoo. I walked out with a tattoo that I know I will love forever, he managed to put 8 years of my life into a tattoo in a very memorable way, I almost cried once or twice while he was doing it because this means THAT much to me. Not only was the tattoo fantastic, Moe is a freaking KING. If he is in town and you want a good tattoo, hit him up. After this tattoo heals and he comes back to town, I will be having him add stuff to/around this tattoo, if im lucky he will help me cover both thighs honestly. So his art is great, I cant rep that hard enough, but also? He is a fantastic person, very lovely, very freaking funny, so nice, patient, we would joke, and then he would focus, then joke, then focus, but the work never faltered. He kept checking on me, he made sure I was comfortable, offered to get me water or anything I needed, asked if I needed breaks. I honestly couldnt have asked for a better experience or a better artist especially for a first tattoo. I was so comfortable that I stopped being nervous and just had a fun, really great experience!In conclusion- Forbidden tattoos and piercings cares, they use great artists, they dont cut corners, they keep their spaces clean and awesome, everyone is friendly. If you have a bad experience there- youre probably the issue(sorry if that upsets you). Everything from atmosphere to customer service is top tier. I can definitely understand why so many people reccomend them and now I am one of those people.I love this shop, Im so grateful to Moe, I will be back, you should go here, your mom should go here, your third cousin twice removed should go here, that one guy from highschool that hit you up on facebook last week should go here.

Both my husband and I have always gone to them the entire time weve been in Jacksonville. My biggest compliment is that when another Artist left I had my main Artist do a touch up and it made the Tattoo look WAY Better than what it originally looked like.I love this place and will always refer people to this shop. 100 out of 10! ;)

I came in to get a tattoo touched up that i had done here about 2 years ago i loved how it looked originally but with this touch up and a few modifications i now love it more then ever before. Walking in to this amazing store you find yourself immersed in a friendly and clean atmosphere and you are greeted and taking care of by the most amazing and professional staff i have ever met in my many years of going to tattoo spots. You will instantly feel at home and welcomed when you come here. I will definitely be coming back here in the future for all my tattoos along with my friends who love the work i have had done here. I will be getting out of the service soon and moving back home to Philadelphia but a little part of me will always remain at Elite Tattoos. It was the place i got my first tattoo and i will never forget it. This place has set the bar high of expectations that i will have for any other tattoo shops i will visit in the future. Did a lot of research before getting tatted in this area and Elite is by far the cleanest and most professional shop around. Bethany has done a lot of work on me and I could not be happier about how everything has come out! Recommended many people to her and the rest of their staff and have never had a complaint. Absolutely love Forbidden Tattoo. Every time Ive come here they have been nothing but welcoming and kind. The last time I was there I got a nose piercing, and the time before that I got my graduation card from my Mom tattooed on me. She passed away a year ago and they were very understanding and helpful! Will Taylor did my tattoo, and I highly recommend him! He traced over my Moms chicken scratch like a pro and I love it ♡ Thank you guys!

This is the place to beat 👌 unfortunately had to get a tattoo removed, but was in and out in an hour for my first appointment, and the removal actually hurt less than getting the tattoo itself. The staff as a whole is extremely knowledgeable, motivated and personable, and it doesnt hurt that all the girls who work there are pretty cute. Definitely willing to get another tattoo here just for the sake of coming back. Thanks guys!

I went to several places around Jacksonville to set up consultations to get my entire back done and when i came to Elite i was really pleased with the friendly staff. The staff is very hospitable and the artist are really good. I would definitely recommend going to Elite for anyone looking to find a great tattoo place in the Jacksonville area. Steve Silvey is the artist doing my back and he is a great guy. Will post pictures soon.

When me and my wife were searching for a tattoo parlor we were a bit down because we could not find any place that seemed to entice us. Then we came across Elite Tattoos and decided to give it a shot. Their outstanding professionalism and character speaks volumes about the employees. I felt like I was welcomed into a whole new family. Their art work is amazing and there is no other tattoo shop like Elite Tattoo. Nik did an awesome job on my quarter sleeve and Melissa did a wonderful job on my wifes leg. They can bet they have two very satisfied returning customers.

I got a lot of tattoos done here, by Gabriel whenever hes in town. Basically hes done my entire right side and a collaboration piece on my left leg lol I always tell people that if theyre going to the Jacksonville,NC area and theyre looking for a good artist to check him out. I even asked him to make some artwork for me and hope one day our paths will cross again. Everyone there has always been super kind to me though and Ive always found it to be rather relaxing to go. Granted Im weird and find 10 hours of tattooing to be relaxing. Photo is of the last piece he did on me healed.

Ive been going to this tattoo shop since 2015 for all my tattoo and piercing needs! Of all the artists, Jessye is my absolute favorite! She is kind and comforting. She has patiently walked me through coping with all my piercings and helping me as best as she can with the healing process. I currently live in Michigan and I still contact Jessye when it comes to my piercing. You would be lucky to get your piercings done with her. She is the best in town!

My husband has gotten tattoos in multiple states and multiple countries, so he knows a good tattoo parlor and this is the absolute best. Perfect customer service. The lady at the front desk was very nice, very helpful, and she had a big smile. I dont know what these other people are complaining about because the front desk is a 5/5. Now my husband artist...Lindsay is a 10/5. My husband is halfway done thru his ocean sleeve and the detail in her work is unbelievable. You can tell that Lindsay puts all of her heart and soul in her work and her results are a beautiful ocean themed sleeve that my husband gets to proudly show off. If I could this place would get 10/5.

I had my lip pierced by Jessye roughly a month ago and Ive had the best experience with her! I chose to come to Forbidden Tattoo very last minute as I decided to go through with the piercing the same day. I was able to walk right in and she took me back almost immediately. The piercing was quick and practically painless. She gave me a detailed description of how to care for it and even gave me her phone number for any issues/questions. I have texted her on multiple occasions asking questions and shes very quick to respond! After my swelling went down, she had me come back in to change out the ring. I highly recommend her as shes very professional, friendly and good at what she does. I plan on getting the other side done soon so I can finally get my snake bites I have always wanted! Im so excited 😁

Got my septum pierced by Kassi yesterday. Ive had several piercings done in a shop before but honestly Elite is hands down my favorite! Kassi and I bonded over being Michiganders and had a great time. She was so friendly and down to earth. Kassi answered all the questions I had and walked me through the whole process before starting. The shop was super clean and everybody was so awesome. I cant wait to go back!

Noah was great. He did an outstanding job. I gave the receptionist a vague idea of what I was looking for and size and he had it absolutely perfect for me when I showed up to my appointment. I highly recommend Noah and Forbidden for your next tattoo.

The staff at Forbidden are very polite and professional. I went to get tooth gems and Jessye was so nice and she got me right! I love it and would recommend others to go for all your tattoo and piercings needs. Oh and dont forget your smile with tooth gems!

I went with a group of friends for piercings. Jessye, the piercer, was amazing at her what she did. Super professional, gentle, and quick. She had an answer for all my questions and gave me her cell phone number in case I had any issues. The shop was incredibly clean and everyone we encountered there was so nice. Highly recommended!

After what felt like ten years of searching for a tattoo shop, I finally came across Elite. After making the hour journey to talk with the artists my husband and I were sold. As soon as we walked in we couldnt help but notice the wonderful atmosphere. Everyone here is so nice, not to mention talented. Melissa did my tattoo and I couldnt be happier with the way it turned out, not to mention it felt like a unicorn licking me. I would recommend this shop to anyone who actually wants an awesome tattoo instead of some half a** tattoo drawn up by people that have no business tattooing. Also check out their bathroom wall art while youre there!

I would say this I was skeptical at first due to this being a military area and them over-charging. I will say this,though you get what you paid for.Nick is by far hands down the best tattoo artist in there,and no offense to the other tattoo artist. Hes super-cool and laid back to the fullest, you tell him what you want and he will make it happen. I came in for a full sleeve recently and we sat and talked for like 20-30 minutes about the whole piece.He sat me up some dates to get it everything done and I came in recently for the top portion of my sleeve and I was sceptical at first, then once he got done, I was Blown away about how much he accomplished and the detail of the what i what I asking for he got it, hands down to fullest He did his thing and fits to my arm. I was super comfy in the shop + the atmospher was super laid back.Major love to you guys, I still have a couple more session,but I cant wait for the finish product and i will be recommending other people to your shop as well.

Megan was very kind, so was the receptionist. When you walk in you see some of the tattoo artists work on the wall, it’s a cool environment with nice leather couches and a relaxing area. Ive gotten countless piercings done here and they were all handled with care and professionalism. But today I got a tattoo done by the one and only Dani. Ive had 3 tattoos done by 3 other shops, and they all have flaws, not this one though. Ive never been so happy with a tattoo. Dani is so entertaining, funny, and respectful. I very easily have chosen a new favorite tattoo artist. Im so grateful.

Daughter wanted a tattoo. 1000 shops in Jville. Heard good things of Elite. My wife and I both have a lot of work from shops all over the country. Elite was by far the best experience. Great atmosphere, good artists, and obviously a well taken care of and clean shop the second you walk in. Recommended and father approved.

They go ABOVE AND BEYOND! I got two ear piercings by the amazing Kassi. Not only did she do an amazing job and really know what shes talking about, but you can tell just how much she loves what she does. When you have a question she emails you RIGHT back even weeks after and helps you in any way she can. The studio even sends you a hand written card to make sure you were happy with your service. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! :)

Absolutely love Megan! She looked at my nipple piercings and wasnt even the one to pierce them. She gave me professional time and information. She pierced my nieces ears and was so patient and informative. Wont go to any other piercer!

I just went and got a septum piercing today. Its very clean and sanitary. Wasnt fond of the snake tanks but theres ways around them. Andrew is an excellent piercer. Did mine with little to no pain. The receptionist was nice as well. 👍🏾👍🏾

The receptionist was very rude over the phone & she refused to assist me until I showed up in person. I came in as a walk in to get a simple 4 word sentence with a heart at the end & was told the only tattoo artist who would was able to do lettering isn’t in..I’m pretty sure that’s the most simple common request you get. Not a great first impression

Tonight I got my fifth tattoo from Bethany. Ive been coming here for almost a year now and this is the only place I will go. Elite Tattoo is by far the nicest and cleanest tattoo shop I have ever seen and the art work on display amazing. Most shops seem so dark and scary for customers to come into but I would feel comfortable bringing anyone here. I will never get a tattoo from any other place except this shop for those reasons. Thank you for your time and great prices.

Being a 20 yr retired Marine and never interested in tattoos, I finally broke down and went to get my first one because I promised my daughter if she joined the Marine Corps and graduated, I’d get one. I dropped off samples of what I wanted and was supposed to be contacted ASAP with results or info because I’d only be in the area for a limited time. That was over a month ago. I’ve sent e-mails inquiring the same..... and STILL no reply. I’m back in the area for my daughters grad ceremony, stopped by the tattoo studio and it’s closed.... even though the sign clearly states Open on Monday from 12pm. It’s currently 1:40pm. All I can say is that I’ve tried. They may have good artists there, but customer service needs some work. I plan to keep my promise to my daughter, but from someplace else.

I was very disappointed. I know that Im underaged, I get that. But my mother is sick and due to that sickness she has lost a bit of mobility. I tried to explain that to the receptionist, but all she would say is that I cant get my ears pierced even though my mother was there or later when I had the right documents, and even asked where my father was, unfortunately he has passed and I didnt want to say that out loud since its a difficult issue. Even though I tried to explain many times or ask for a solution, I was denied service. Im glad I was able to find a place that understood my situation and were caring enough to figure out a solution for me. I hope you can be more understanding to your future clients.

Had a great experience tonight getting piercings! The staff are very caring and knowledgeable. Had alot of fun with them and I met the owner Ann. She was very thorough and helpful plus super sweet! I felt very welcome and at home! :) I would definitely recommend this place for sure!

I have had multiple piercings done here as well as a tattoo. Andrew is amazing and always on point. The staff is always friendly, and I love that its family oriented. Ill be going back soon for another piercing and new tattoo.

I set an appt (on Aug 19) through the receptionist to have a consultation with the artist Chris Swenski on Sept 11. Four hours before the appt the receptionist informs me the artist feels ill and most reschedule for Oct 30th. When asked if there were any sooner appts because I have waited already and it should be sooner the receptionist replied “not necessarily”.When asked if the time could be moved up since there were other consultations scheduled before Oct 30, the answer was no and the time already waited before should be disregarded. Call me “old-fashioned” but those who wait the longest probably have priority to being seen first if the business or artist is at fault for the rescheduling.After debating the importance of time and professionalism with the receptionist a date of Sept 25 was agreed on, assuming the artist is feeling well.Again this is just to have a consult, not even have any work done or be decided to have done. Hopefully no other unprofessional steps are taken and the business are artist earn a good review on Sept 25. As of right now not impressed and would not recommend

Hands down the best tattoo and piercing shop in Jacksonville. I refuse to go anywhere else. Sterling did my sternum piece, and is absolutely the best with geometric patterns and black and white. They make you feel right at home there, and also include complimentary snacks and drinks while you wait.

I went here to have a consultation and schedule an appointment after reading many good reviews. The front of the house was stand offish and a bit stuck up, the artist glanced at my arm which has a ton of scar tissue to be covered up and didnt really talk to me about my or his ideas for cover up..I was basically assigned to an artist when I was there to see a different one. Basically the entire experience was bullsht..I dont care how good of a shop you are, how good the artist are..treat your potential customers as politely or youll lose them. I even put down a deposit, but once I left and reflected on horrible the initial meeting was decided to not even go back. I recommend this shop to be more personable during consultation and maybe a little humbleness will help.

Amazing work amazing experience. Had a piece done by a butcher years ago. Girlfriend asked if it was a jail tattoo and thats when I knew I needed to stop being lazy and fix it. Shane at Elite was recommended and wow. Not only did he bring it to life and make it look 100xs better, he didnt change the original idea of the tattoo, was light handed, did perfect color blending, and was one of the fastest artists Ive had. My next ink l, will with out a doubt, be done by Shane at Elite.

I got a tattoo at Elite Tattoo Gallery last summer. Even though the tattoo appears to look good from a few feet away, upon closer examination, you can easily tell that she scarred my arm during the tattoo. After speaking to multiple people about my experience, I wasnt shocked to hear that this is not a rare occurrence at Elite. The more i dug, i even found out that they only appear so professional at times because they pay Google so that they stand above the other tattoo shops in Jacksonville. Im not saying you will have a bad experience if you go there but the risk most certainly is higher. While I was there, the staff was quite friendly but they most certainly are not all professionals in their trade.

Ive gotten tattooed here for the last year, and this isnt an in-house five star review. Originally I got tattooed by Rory OGrady, and he did exceptional. Im going for my 9th tattoo this weekend, with Juan Morales, and Im stoked!Super chill place, all of the artists are laid back and relaxed. Cant complain one bit!

I got my medusa done here today and it was placed perfectly. She really took the time to answer my questions, made sure I was satisfied with the placement and was super professional and patient with me. Will definitely be coming here again!

I went for nipple piercings & the piercer was nice & patient it took a while because I was so nervous but he explained why a certain ring had to be used & I saw him open brand new tools & sterilize the rings. I had such a pleasant expierence that I went back for a belly button piercing. Will go back again & I recommend to all my friends

The front desk staff are terrible called about a touch up on existing tattoo and they told me once they found an artist that would do it (other artist was a guest artist) they would call me. Never got a call, this has happened several times. The staff do not care about returning customers because there will always be new clients due to all the military. I suggest going next door to mad tatter or down the street to ink slingers. Those two shops care about your business and will make you feel more welcome. Go out and find the little shops and the artist you like dont go here just because of the name.

They got me in super quick for a nostril piercing and I was in the chair and out of the chair in less than 5 minutes. My only complaints would be there was no choice of jewelry (just a silver/diamond stud) and the aftercare spray was about $20 which is steep for saline, but my own fault for not asking before I bought it.

This is a beautiful and reputable business. We inquired about a daith piercing for my pregnant daughter due to severe migraines, however, per state regulations they are not allowed to pierce pregnant or nursing mothers. I was impressed with the professionalism. We will be back!

My daughter came in and got her ears pierced by Jessye. My kiddo is 12 and she was a little nervous. Jessye was great at easing her fears. She was also very knowledgeable about making sure the piercing was even and throughougly explained the cleaning and healing process to my daughter. I definitely recommend getting piercings here .The location was great. The decor was artsy and they provide a clean, comfortable waiting area complete with a variety of complimentary snacks and beverages.

I just want to say, I love the piercer she was very nice The only thing that I have had any issues with. Is that when she pierced my septum she pierced it at the very tip of my nose so literally my metal is going through the very tip that you can feel the metal on the very front of my nose and you can see it just looking at it. I’m just upset that I had to spend $60 on a piercing just have to get it taken out and re-pierced

Steven did my fiancés piece and he did an amazing job. Everyone was very friendly and helpful! They even opened up a spot for us just to help us try to keep to our dinner plans :) they have extremely fair prices, i highly recommend this shop and all their artists!

Just finished up the touch up work on my quarter sleeve. Making the awesomeness even more awesome!!! Elite is the best shop in town, theyre not here to just make money. they care about the art theyre putting out. This shop is about the quality, cant wait for my second quarter sleeve by Melissa!

I recently got a piercing done here and the shop was clean and relaxing. They have complementary snacks and,beverages while you wait. Getting pierced here was a breeze there was a bit of a wait since there were a couple people getting pierced before me but I dont mind waiting. So if you want to skip the wait call first.

I would like to preface this review with the Latin term Caveat Emptor, for those that are unfamiliar, it translates to buyer beware. My experience first began with Elite tattoo back in 2015. Melissa, the owner, and I planned a full sleeve. After several sessions, over 20 hours and over $3000 spent at Elite, we reached about 80% completion of my sleeve. Unfortunately, I temporarily moved so I cancelled my last appointment for the time being until I could reschedule. Mind you, Elite then and to this day still posses my $160 deposit. For months I have been given the run around with this studio regarding completing this expensive project that, understandably so, necessitates the original artist to complete. For months I called and emailed the studio, sent photos to refresh Melissas memory of our project, while asking kindly to book my last appointment. Considering I am an existing client and still have a deposit on file, this treatment and lack of professionalism is completely unwarranted. I finally locked in a second consultation, scheduled for 1/27/18. I was perplexed as to why an existing client needed to have a second consultation, nevertheless I complied with the request. Two days before my appointment, the booking staff at Elite called to say Melissa would prefer to complete my consultation via email to save me a trip. I yet again forwarded emails. I received a response from Melissa that stated I would require two sessions to finish, but she could not commit to my appointment for the reasons as follows: 1. She was unsure if she would have a booth available (she is the owner of Elite tattoo, how this could possibly be an issue is unbeknownst to me) 2. She is traveling two weeks per month for the remainder of 2018 3. She is booked through March with projects that need to be completed (but doesnt my project and investment fall in this category, too?) and lastly 4. (and I quote) everything is very up in the air right now. As you can imagine, this came as a complete shock to me because I was one of Melissas first full sleeves, Ive spend thousands at this studio, and like any other client I want the same artist from start to finish. Melissas last and final response via email was a suggestion for me to find another artist to finish her project. Mind you, each mentioning of my $160 security deposit has consecutively been ignored and disregarded by both the booking staff and the owner. Now I am tasked with finding an artist that is willing to complete a sleeve that is nearly finished, while my current artist refuses to even suggest said artist whom she wants to pawn me off to, not to mention refund me my security deposit since my project doesnt deserve completion like her newer projects. It pains me to write this review because I have been so loyal to Elite; constantly handing out business cards, showing admirers their social media and work, while unbeknownst to me this business, further, the OWNER, refuses to see our project through to the end and instead gives me the run around. The photos of my sleeve have been deleted from both her personal Instagram account as well as Elite tattoos Instagram. I write this review to warn those that are considering investing their time and money in this business. Do your research, make sure your artist is 100% invested and committed to establishing a trusting business/client relationship, and lastly make sure your artist has your best interest in mind and doesnt suffer from a money hungry mentality because it will surely cloud their judgement, and as seen in my case, result in a total absence of professionalism. Elite may have a brand new studio, advertise a great deal, and have thousands of (purchased) followers on social media, but they do not know the first thing about professionalism and conducting a business. Nonetheless, I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint since Elite tattoo carelessly disregards the ethical business behavior that, as a business, they are required to be in compliance with and as a consequence, should be held accountable for.

Chose Elite for my first tattoo, and as soon as I walked through the door it was a welcoming atmosphere. I could not have asked for a better tattoo artist, which was Shane. Right from the get-go I gave him my idea and let him run with it, throwing in his own personal twists, and I couldnt be happier with my tattoo. Definitely going back for more

Went in for two piercings. Jessye was amazing and talked about what she was going to do and explained the process for each piercing. I felt like I was welcome as soon as I walked in. After my first piercing with Jessye I havent gone anywhere else.

Very clean! I got my nose pierced by Megan and she was so nice and made me feel very relaxed!! The whole experience was very fast! I was only there for 15 minutes! I did have a appointment! Totally recommended this place!!

I just moved to the area and was looking for a new shop to get piercings and tattoos. I didnt even get to make it to the back room because the front desk lady was not as polite as I had hoped. I went in looking to get a small tattoo and she said they were closed and I said oh my bad, it says you close at 8 and its 6:50 she said no it says clearly online when we close at 7. I showed her my phone where it said 8 and she rolled her eyes and said thats false. Another occasion I tried to go with my friend for a piercing and she told me to leave the shop and I couldnt be with my friend for moral support. My friend was very scared and I asked again if its okay, I am vaccinated and wearing a mask and she got mad and told me again to leave the store. I imagine the tattoo and piercing artists are amazing I just never got a chance to see because of rude customer service :(Edit* I came into the shop 2 separate occasions. The first was last week when I was turned away due to the internet providing incorrect closing times. The second was today 5/12 when I was told to leave the shop when my friend was getting a piercing.

Elite Tattoo Gallery & Body Piercing is one of my favorite establishments in Jacksonville. Definitely a fun experience every time I come in, even if Im just a moral support. Everyone in the shop is has an excellent combination of both professionalism and charisma and ensure a comfortable experience for everyone that walks in.

Jessye is an awesome piercer! She is very friendly and informative. She explained everything from gauge size to after care. Very relaxing and by far the best piercing experience I’ve ever had! She rocks

I got a tattoo here, and will list a few tips for others considering doing the same. Firstly come with a FAT wallet, artists rates here START at $140 and hour and go up from there--(my tattoo ended up being over $500.) For your first appointment you will be REQUIRED to put down at least $140. Look at all artists portfolios in the shop, or on the website, go with the artist whose portfolio really impresses and speaks to you! Ask for a consultation with that artist and make sure you click well together and that he/she is 110% on the same page with you and the tattoo design you want. If not, DO NOT go with that artist! You will regret doing so. Be prepared to speak up about anything you disagree with, even if your artist may not like it YOU are paying to have a PERMANENT tattoo on your body and you need to make sure you are communicating even if they are not, so the tattoo you end up with is one youre totally satisfied with and proud of-no regrets!

They do such great work! That I am addicted to it! Ugh would get my whole body inked asap if possible lol. I love this place and the people who work there, theyre so nice and help you with all your questions...even the stupid questions. Make you feel comfortable. I recommend anyone to this shop. At first I was okay with the font that melissa made me go with. But now that its 6+ months after Melissa did my tattoo, it is starting to scar and the letters are closing up. The places where its rising is painfully scarred almost like its pushing out the ink that went too deep. I just wish I could have my money back so I can get this removed. Honestly I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt that its going to be fine but this is my grandparents name and it is not done in justice. I do not recommend this at all. If youre not confident enough yo do lettering, be honest with your clients because tattoos are permanent. It is not a joke when you scar someones skin.

The artist was super cool, very professional and nerdy (talked to us about anime etc). Super down to earth..... 4 stars because the front desk lady needs fired. Suuuuper rude, super snotty, you could feel her rolling her eyes from across the room. It was clear that she hated being there and didnt want to talk to or service anyone.

I went in to have a tattoo of my dog that recently departed I met with Lucas and gave him a photo of what I wanted. He was able to create exactly what I wanted. Would highly recommend Lucas and will be back for more work.

I went to see Meghan when I had an issue with a piercing that I received at a different shop. Meghan corrected the issue and now my piercing is doing great! Meghan is super knowledgeable about piercings.She is also very nice.

I got my first bigger piece done here by Brandon and everyone in the shop was super nice and friendly. Brandon went above and beyond to make sure i absolutely loved my tattoo and his work is beyond amazing!

This place is the rudest place . I wrote them and they ignored me . So we went in there to see about a consultation anc the girl at the counter is very rude . No personality , manners but they act like youre an inconvenience. She took the picture we want to get back to an artist and he never came out to speak to us . They dont seem to care . After coming home , we saw the artist they wanted to give us and his work isnt even good at all . Wrote them and again was ignored. Will be going else where where we are valued .

The staff talk and act all nice at first but, they B.S. with one another too much instead of coducting proper business ethics... They forget what their doing and are distracted easily. They dont explain things clearly due to this. You can ask them questions and they look at you like your speaking another language. Then tell you to ask the tattoo artist any questions you have. You would think the tattoo artist would have an idea or knowledge of how much and roughly how long it would take to do a tattoo or a cover-up tattoo. The guys are full of it and say whatever to cover their ASS when they know they screwed up but, dont want to admit it ( that being at the front, the tattoo artist and the owners boyfriend or husband) So, my recommendation is avoid going here for your any ( INK ) work your thinking or considering to have done. Who ever you choose really check them out first and make damn sure they stay to the stencile drawing and colors from start to finish!!!!

I have tried the rest, and this is the best shop around, not only have I had tattoos fixed by Nik, but I have also had original works created and put to skin. This shop is amazing,but dont take my word for it, get out and check out all the incredibly talented artists portfolios and see for yourself.The prices are also EXTREMELY REASONABLE, you may think you are getting a deal some place else because the price is cheaper, take it from someone who has endured lazer surgery to remove a bad tattoo (took 3 sessions at a cost $325 for 6x6sq) , as well as had to have tattoos covered up/fixed, cheap doesnt always mean youll receive great work. Do yourself a favor, have your bodyart done right the first time and save yourself the trouble of unnecessary and costly procedures.If getting pierced is your thing, well Dyz is by far the best around, not only is he professionally courteous, but compassionate and gentle, regardless if this is your first or 10th piercing.Dyz only uses state of the art equipment, and meticulous about each and every piercing, as the mom of a teen that loves being pierced, I wouldnt dream of taking her anywhere else, I made that MISTAKE once, now I dont trust anyone else to pierce her.go down check the shop out and become part of the family.

Nice artists but completely predatory business practices. If you put a deposit down for a tattoo you better get it because if you change your mind and want a different idea theyll steal your money and make you put down another deposit. Scumbags

They started closing instantly after only having the barbells out for a day so i needed help.She gladly took me in and let me tell you I was not an easy case.I was screaming my freakin head off because the guy who pierced me gave total crap advice on taking care of and maintaining them, so having them fixed wasnt so great thanks to him. BUT Kracken took care of them like it was nothing. She comforted me delt with my screaming and was a total professional. I call this a great unfortunate experience. i LOVE this chick and I will be back for her! shes my girl!!

JESSYE did me and my sis nose piercing today & it was a very chill experience. Placement looks great which was v important to me. She even threw in some complementary anti microbial soap.

I got a tattoo here when I first came to Jacksonville and it was a great experience; I was able to walk in and get what I wanted which is the only reason I gave it two stars. However this is the second time they have told me they accept walk-ins, Ive walked in, theyve told me they were full. Last night I went in as soon as I got off work, 20 minutes before they closed and tried to see if I could get an appt for the next day. They told me no problem, they had walk in time available all the next day. I made sure I shouldnt make an appt they said no just come in. I came back the next day 5 MINUTES after they opened and told me they were full. I told them about how I came in just last night and they said they fill up fast. 5 MINUTES?! ridiculous. I have a baby, my husband works two jobs, and I work weekends so I really never know when Im going to be available to make an appt. Ive never had so many issues getting a walk in. I WILL NOT be attempting to return just to be lied to again.

Came down here from NY and Ive gotta say its the best tattoo parlor around hands down from what Ive seen. Great service, awesome artists, and very clean shop! Definitely coming back.

Jessye is extreemly knowledgeable, she has done a couple of my piercings and answered all my questions. She was also able to help my friends dautgher with her ears. They had a bad experience somewhere else with a gun piercing.

Met with Gabriel Luna today for a consultation. I am so excited to be getting my first tattoo with him. He was very knowledgeable and the staff was very personable.

I got a terrible cover up and didnt think it could ever be fixed but it is being fixed by Ryan Mills and so far the tattoo is amazing and cant wait to see the end result. Went to other tattoo parlors in town trying them all out, sadly this one is lower on the list when it comes to the skill and work done by the artist. I in no way believe that this should discourage anyone from going here. Just check out my other reviews of the places I have visited and make a sound decision.

HORRIBLE tattoo done by apprentice at Artist Elite. I hate to bad mouth this establishment because Im sure the other artists are good but I want to warn everyone about the apprentice. I checked out their website before I went in close to a year ago. Their old website featured more people and I thought I had made an appointment with one on their page. Turns out their names were one letter different and I ended up with what I guess was an apprentice. It looked fine after he sketched it out on my foot but once he finished with the tat it looked awful. I literally have friends that could do a better job in my kitchen for less money. It was a very simple tattoo, just pretty plain letters. The tat was suppose to match the one on my other foot. They look nothing alike. The one I have had for going on 4 years looks perfect, all the ink held and it hasnt bled. The other tattoo not only has very different lettering but it also lost a ton of the ink and one of the letters bled. I didnt expect them to be perfectly alike because they were different artist but I wanted it to at least be close! Tried to upload a picture warning but it wouldnt work. Take my word for it though, it looks awful. I would go back in to complain about it and have it redone but Im too scared to go back to the business at all now. Many of the artist here looked really talented just be REALLY careful that you dont accidently end up with the new guys. Its sad this had to happen there because it makes the establishment look bad.

The customer service was horrible. As soon as we walked in the artists hesitated to even talk to us. They seemed very careless and they didn’t want to help us. The attitude was so poor I turned around and walked out the door. Worst tattoo shop I’ve ever walked into. Not a friendly environment.

When I got my second hole in my lobe I wanted a stud. They said they couldn’t put a stud in and had to do a hoop. The hoop was hideous. They also didn’t do it correctly and I had to go to another place to get it redone.
