We had a great experience at Ktown tattoo. We walked in to inquire about getting tattoos done before we left later in the week and they booked us in for a couple of days just before we would be leaving town. The shop was very clean. Went to the shop on Tuesday to get a simple tattoo of some crossed anchors on my right hand. I was advised to wait until I was leaving the island so the fresh tattoo wouldnt restrict my fun. Today is Friday and I was the 1st appointment of the morning. The guy did an amazing job. I ended up getting a tattoo of Texas with the City of Dallas logo in the center on my left hand. Everything was clean and fresh for the work done. A+++++

My family and I walked in to ask about some tattoos we wanted to get before our trip is over. The person behind the counter was incredibly rude when we asked about pricing because they couldn’t give us a real answer, but wanted us to put 215 dollars down? we are no strangers to tattoo shops and tattoos this is not how it works. Don’t waste your time!

Todd did an AWESOME job on my tattoo and was great company as well. I will definitely come back to K Town when I take another trip to Hawaii!

Great place to get a tattoo. Todd did a great job with the tattoo. I brought in my own drawing and he did a great job transforming it into a tattoo that Im more than happy with. The shading he did I think is a great addition that I didnt have in the original drawing. He put a lot of effort into making sure he was prepared and that I was happy and comfortable the entire time. I would recommend Todd to anyone who is looking to get a tattoo.

We had an appt. For 4 of us. The man showed up for my boyfriends tatoo and the gal that we scheduled to do my two daughters and I never showed. Never called. The guy was so nice and did ours but it messed up our whole day’s plans. Not happy about such poor customer service.

Ryan was overbooked but still managed to get me and my wife matching tattoos. While juggling with other customers and and helping us figure out what we wanted and doing the work. He did a jam up job! We are very pleased with his work and the time it took for him to do it. Just amazing!

When we went in my mon called 2 times to make sure she had time and was ok to do the piercing every-time she said yes so we went in when we git their she was extremely annoyed and was very rude and when she sat me down to do the piercing she didnt give me any warning before she shoved it in my lip after putting the dot. The piercing in off compared to my other one she hit a nerve when she pierced it and she didnt wash the jewelry. I had to take it out due to it not healing properly due to how poorly of a job was done when piercing it if you are going to let your mood effect how well you do your job then dont say you offer piercings.

Todd has been tattooing for 29 years, very professional! Super cool artist, great at cover ups!

My wife and I went to several shops while in Kona and found K Town to be the cleanest and had the most attentive staff. We got Sean as our artist amazing work this guy does. We will be back to see him next year. Thanks again Sean.

Me and a friend were looking for last minute tattoos and I called the number on Google and it turned out to be the owner, she was very helpful and gave me the number for the artist working today and Todd was able to squeeze us in! The two artists that were there were very helpful and helped us with the designs and locations.

Came in with my family wanting to get some tattoos done on our last day in Hawaii. It was a group of 5, and Hannah said no problem, despite it being pretty obvious that it would take longer than the normal hours. She not only did all of our tattoos, but each one came out PERFECT. If we ever come back to Kona, well definitely be returning for some more work here. Highly recommend.

Got in and right away they were helpful. Decided on a spur of the moment vacation tattoo. They modified and shrunk a design they had there for me and helped me with aftercare!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and wanted tattoos to remember how much fun we had here. We walked in and were lucky enough to have 2 tattoo artists. One for him, superfast. One for me, very gentle. And we got great suggestions of sites to see next time we come back. Thank you for a great experience!

Hannah was may artist yesterday. We worked on a large tattoo. She was so sweet, very professional, and helped me come up with a design that suits me perfectly! Placement is on point and the colors are beautifully done!! Definitely coming back for more!

Great tattoo shop. Erika was amazing. Very patient with us and did an amazing job on my wifes tattoo. Gus did mine and also did an amazing job. I was worried cause Gus is new, but his line work......wow. Kid is only 20 and working at this level. Very impressed. When we go back, I will be asking for either Erika or Gus to do my next one.

I was visiting the Big Island for the 3rd time with friends, and had decided I wanted a more permanent souvenir from this trip. I knew I wanted to get a tattoo and had received a referral from a local shop employee. I went to K Town to set up an appointment for the end of my trip, and as soon as I walked in the shop, everyone was very helpful and friendly. Sandy listened to what I wanted and told me about the shop, making me feel very comfortable with my decision. This was my first tattoo, and Josh was the artist that took care of me the day I got it. He has a very light touch, and does beautiful work. My tattoo turned better than I had hoped! My experience with K Town was excellent!

Great experience! 5 star customer service, very attentive, clean, and professional. We made an appointment for 4 people only one day in advance after getting 25 dollar off cards from a coffeehouse. We spoke with some other shops but K-town was very accommodating and cheery - everyone in my group is very happy with their work. Personally, the fastest and least painful tattoo Ive had so far. Went to the island with my gal, pals, who recommended K town tattoo from a previous trip that she had came on. I went in, and Hanna came up to help me. I told her that I had been swimming with the manta rays, and I wanted to memorialize that and my trip to Hawaii. Talked about the different ones that she had on display for Mantarays. Told her that I wanted something a little abstract with watercolors. Because she had shown me some water colors that she had done and they were gorgeous. So I went back to my hotel, and that evening she told me to look on Pinterest, I sent her ideas that I had from Pinterest probably sent her way too many lol. so when I came in for my appointments the next day she had drawn out a beautiful manta Ray and I said I’d like it to follow my leg down with some sort of sea ocean scene. She put fish and bubbles and kelp finished project is my most favorite of my tattoos and it is beautiful. Her color choices right on her fine line as well as the thicker lines are all straight and perfect.. I pride myself on not being jumpy or moving when getting a tat. She had a gentle hand. It was easy.. I couldn’t be more happy everybody that seen it has fallen in love with It . !!!Going back next year taking my family and hoping Hanna will do all of us a little mama Momento of our trip as a family there. She also does design work, we are in the process of looking for a logo for our company. Going to send her our ideas and I’m sure she’s going to come up with something perfect. Apparently they deleted my review, but never use this place. My wife was nearly in tears on the way home, because her tattoo was so bad. Waited 30+ minutes after our appointment time for Hannah to get done eating her Starbucks sandwich and coffee. On top of that, she completely butchered my wife’s very simple “A.” tattoo and it took her over an hour even though it was very small (about the size of a quarter). Mine turned out decent at best - a simple “S.”. Your institution will be receiving papers regarding the legal action associated with covering the cost of removal of my wife’s tattoo. To add to that, Hannah mentioned during my tattoo (to another artist that was closely inspecting her tattooing me) that during my wife’s tattoo she “got a weird needle and it messed it up”. You can practice on pig skin, not my wife. It’s not even shaded correctly.

Fabulous tattoo shop! So impressed with our artist Gus and the owner Erica. My sister and I came in wanting matching tattoos while vacationing for a family reunion . We basically walked in unannounced as we had accidentally made an appointment for a different shop on another island. Even my daughter wanted one , so 3 people last minute ( near closing time)They were like No problem ! Erica the owner whipped up a design for the idea we had like it was so easy , even better than what we had in mind ! Gus did our tattoos, his line work is Amazing!!! He has an extremely light hand, never hurt once! So impressed with this young man ! Hes got a very successful career ahead of him. Erica the owner just hung out and chatted while were there. Even had other family come hang out. Most fun Ive ever had getting ink.

We our holiday impulse tattoos. The artist was wonderful - turned our sketch into something clean before working very efficiently to apply it. Really happy with the results. Took less then 10 minutes.

The person that was scheduled to do my tat wasnt even there. But Ryan was!! I interrupted his lunch, and he helped me create exactly what I wanted! He was quick, professional, and it ended up being a great experience and end to our hawaii vacay! Thank you Ryan!

So my appointment started out pretty rocky. Apparently there was miscommunication because I called earlier in the morning to tell them I was sunburned and asked if I could still have my tattoo done. They said it depends on how bad the sunburn was so I told them I would come in and if they didn’t recommend getting the tattoo done I would get a piercing instead because I left a deposit when I made the appointment and it was non-refundable. When I arrived for my appointment the artist (Erika), who I connected with and planned my tattoo with, said she couldn’t do my tattoo because I canceled and said someone else could do it. Steve was going to take her place and he definitely was not happy about it and I could feel it wouldn’t be what I wanted. Erika did finally do my tattoo, but did not seem happy about it, and it turned out great! I told her my story and she helped me decide on different symbolism designs.The next day Erika texted me a picture of my tattoo that she had drawn out with descriptions of all the symbols explaining what each one represented along with some readings so I fully understood. That made me feel so good that she took the extra time to help me understand my tattoo! She also apologized about the miscommunication and her poor attitude in the beginning and explained her side which made me very appreciative of everything she did for me.Erika is an excellent artist, her work is beautiful and all free hand! Despite the miscommunication I am very happy with my results and would highly recommend her!

I walked into K-Town Tattoo in late June looking for an artist who would bring my original tattoo of a sea turtle to life. It took me months to find a shop I felt comfortable enough in to ask about getting my sea turtle redone (my experience in the shop I got my sea turtle done originally at back in California was not the best so I had some anxiety about tattoo shops). I also have a genetic disorder that causes my skin to be more dry than most peoples, so I was also nervous about how the tattoo artist would react to that since the original one back home seemed really apprehensive when he first met me which also made me very uncomfortable. My experience at K-Town was completely different than the one I had at the shop back home though. Both the receptionist Sandie and the artist Josh at K-Town were very friendly and made me feel comfortable the instant I met each of them. Sandie quoted me a very fair price for the amount of work Josh did on my sea turtle. He went over the whole tattoo including outlining and shading. When I first walked in, Sandie told me that Josh was very light-handed and that people sometimes fell asleep while he tattooed them (one of my concerns was the pain from the outline since last time I had an outline done it hurt like hell!) which I found out to be true later that week when Josh did my tattoo. He truly is very light-handed and he does what is comfortable for the person getting the tattoo positioning-wise. I had my tattoo on my lower back, but off to the right side so what was comfortable for me was to lie on my stomach. He is very skilled at what he does and if I end up getting another tattoo I would go back to Josh at K-Town in a heartbeat once Im back in Hawaii. Completely worth the trip! :)

We planned on getting a tattoo on the island prior. Walked in on our last full day in Hawaii for tattoos, called earlier before coming in to make sure the shop wasnt too busy and the staff told us to come in anytime to work things out! All of the staff provided us great customer service and were super friendly. Sean was our artist and he was able to do both our tattoos. He easily was able to make our tattoos work out and exactly how we wanted and more. We were both really pleased with our tattoos and would highly recommend this shop if youre on the Kona side of the island. Would definitely go back to shop for another tattoo!

The whole experience at K-town was great! Erika was my artist and my tattoo looks amazing. The lines are clean and the colors are so vibrant. The staff makes you feel so welcome. The shop is located on the second story, so its well lit. Its a family friendly environment and that definitely adds to the comfort level. I highly recommend K-town!

BEST TATTOO SHOP IN HAWAII! We checked out several other shops and we decided K Town Tattoo was the best one for all of us. The work is top notch, the service is great, the shop is beyond clean.There was four of us getting tattoos and each one is perfect. Not a single flaw. Erika is the best tattoo artist we have used for work. All of us have several tattoos from the many places we have visited all over the world. I highly recommend this shop for quality work and a great experience.

My daughter and granddaughter had planned on getting tattoos while on vacation and I joined in on the fun. I have thought about it for years but always too insecure to carry through. On the day we visited this shop to see their work and decide if this was the place I was so nervous...I spoke with Erika about what I was looking for and she said I can do that and will make it look great. We set an appt for the day we were leaving and I’m so very very happy that I followed through and got my first tattoo at 63😀 The art work is great and my friends and family have said it’s me! So thank you Erika for your time, your talent, and for making me feel welcomed and at ease! I love my doe, my quail, my squirrel😃 As a nurse the cleanliness, the precautions taken between clients, were a plus! I would recommend K Town if your in the area.

My sister in-law and I went to K-Town Tattoo for my nose piercing and her lip piercing and tattoo. The service was awesome they answered questions we had and got us started right away. Her tattoo came out beautiful and simple Josh did a great job! The piercings were quick and CLEAN!! They go the extra mile and use hospital grade cleaning products everything is in plain view and clean, no dust or dirt. I will definitely be returning for any more piercings and my first tattoo!! The staff was friendly and put us right at ease making us feel like friends rather than customers. This is the place on the west side of the island to get a piercing or tattoo I highly recommend it!

I was on vacation and wanted a tattoo to remember my experience visiting Hawaii. I chose a shop that had the best reviews online and it paid off. Everyone there was really nice. Max did a great job with the tattoo. He was able to take an idea I had in my head, and with some visual reference, he was able to draw out exactly what I was envisioning. One of the cleanest shops I’ve ever been in. Staff is friendly and extremely professional. I sat with Josh for a 5-hour thigh piece and have never had a better tattoo experience.Josh is VERY talented and it’s clear how much he cares about his profession and the pieces he creates. He made sure I was comfortable throughout the process and worked with me to make sure the piece was just what I wanted.I won’t go anywhere else in Kona for tattoos. If you want someone who knows what they’re doing and cares about their work, go see Josh Customs at K Town.

Wow wow wow. I think I’ve written maybe two or three negative reviews in my life. But man I feel like I need to warn people about this place. From the moment I walked in I felt like my presence was annoying. There was no, hi, hello how are you? What are you looking for or any type of friendliness. I should have read the room and left at that point, but I didn’t. The person who pierced me was very rude throughout the process and when it came time to perform the piercing there was no “one two three pierce.” Or “ take a deep breathe and I’ll pierce on the exhale.” My body wasn’t ready and it felt violating in a way. Like I felt with the bad greeting (lack there of one) I felt like they wanted to hurt me. I cannot recommend this place to anyone and I hope you protect your body and do not come here. At least for a piercing.

Great place! Visited on vacation and just got my first tattoo here, Steve was fantastic to work with and made every accommodation to make sure I got my appointment when I needed it. He walked me through the entire process, and showed me how to care for the tattoo after. The tattoo came out amazing and is a fantastic work of art and a memento of my time in Hawaii. I lucked out when the tattoo shop that I thought I was looking for turned out to be closed and the ladies at K Town were right there and happy to help. Presley was great - friendly, easy, professional. She gave me a color mock-up of my tattoo ahead of time. She was fast and efficient. The first time I came here, (Nov 2019), was spur of the moment & they were able to draw up my design on the spot. They were quick, professional & friendly.Since then, Ive been in for two more tattoos, both very special & personal. Ryan has more than surpassed my expectations & I cant imagine having anyone else do the work. Hes extremely talented & a true professional.

Walking into K Town tattoo is like walking into a spa. Its clean, organized and professional. I had a great experience every time I came there. Ericas work is beautiful and better than what Ive seen in most shops. Shes got a great staff with a great attitude and shes a wonderful person to know. I wouldnt recommend going to anyone else but Erica for the finest tattooing in Kona. The experience there is one youll cherish forever and never forget!

It was my next to last day on the big island and I wanted something permanent to remember Hawaii and Kona with. I saw the sign for K-Town Tattoo and knew this was the place. When I came in Sandy was helping a couple of other people, but when she was done she immediately helped. She was very friendly and we talked about what I wanted, a tribal dolphin with some customizing. I set up an appointment with Todd for the next afternoon. I came in a bit early and Todd was more than happy to get started. Then in a matter of minutes my one tattoo turned into two. I had though about a shark on my forearm all evening before. Four hours later I left with two awesome tattoos. Todds work was excellent and he consulted with me on exactly what I wanted the whole time.K-Town Tattoo: If you are looking to get inked this is the place to go. I will be back. My husband talked via e-mail with K Town as we live in NY. They were great and very accommodating to every request he made. They took their time, made sure that what they were doing was exactly what he wanted. The tattoo was fantastic, a true work of art. We were on the Big Island celebrating my partners 60th birthday with snorkeling, a zip line tour, a submarine ride and the like. She decides that this whole experience has been so great that it should be commemorated by a permanent souvenir - a tattoo. Weve been around the block a few times, I already had 3 tattoos, so we spend a few days checking out tattoo shops and looking at their photo books. Our search ended at K Town.Cindy (my partner) wanted a tattooed band around her wrist, fashioned after traditional Polynesian wave symbols, not terribly specific. I wanted a sea turtle, realistic, in its underwater setting. Erika spent a long time with each of us, getting a better idea of what we wanted our new tats to look like. Only after Cindy and I were both happy with the plans were we escorted into her super-clean and shiny studio. Seriously, folks, its done like a medical procedure - but a lot more fun!Our tattoos are gorgeous, the setting could not be more pleasant, the people who work there are warm and wonderful, and the kids (when present) are bright, charming and very well-behaved. This is not your Uncle Bernies tattoo parlor!If youre getting your first tattoo and are feeling a bit apprehensive - this is absolutely the place to go in terms of assurance and comfort.If youre inked all over, and want that last patch of skin youve been saving to be inked by a true artist - this is absolutely the place to go in terms of depth of knowledge, skill and experience.Ive read reviews from, and talked to, people who had tattoos done and did not respect themselves in the morning. I cannot conceive of anyone feeling that way about a K Town tattoo.

Went as a walk in for my first tattoo and had a great experience. We were leaving the island that night and I wanted to see if they could fit me in before I left. Got set up with steve and I wanted a non Hawaiian nature scene with mountains and trees. Not Steve’s typical tattoo style, but he worked with me, drew up a sketch, gave his honest opinion about sizing and what we could realistically fit into the tattoo without sacrificing quality. Before I knew it we were talking story and I was getting my first ink. Being a nurse I was appreciate of Steve’s strict aseptic technique and also his thorough aftercare instructions. Thanks Steve!

Just returned from the big island. Wanted to put in a good word for K Town. I had a great experience getting my first tattoo. I would recommend K Town to anyone wanting a tattoo. I was very pleased with my tattoo. The big thing is K Town is very clean and hygienic. They were very helpful in picking the design since I had only an idea of what I wanted. Steve did a fantastic job of tattooing, super funny and included me in the color choosing for my plumeria flowers. Also reasonably priced as well!! Josh at K Town Tattoo was a legend - easy to set up a booking and did a great job on my girlfriends first tattoo and also adding a few small ones to my collection after. Don’t hesistate raising any concerns with him or the other staff, they are more than happy to help with any questions or issues. While on vacation for our 10th anniversary my wife surprised me with getting me the next piece Ive been wanting. I searched reviews and decided to give K Town a look. I am glad I did! Not only are they reviewed high but they live up to every great review.Erica greeted me as soon as I walked in. We discussed what I was thinking of having done and she even made it happen in the budget I was working with.Steve (from Oregon) was recommended to me due to his work in black and grey. We discussed the idea, looked at a picture and set a time for me to come back in a few hours.I left to grab some food before my appointment and while eating had some thoughts about modifications to my piece. Much to my surprise, Steve texts me asking about the same modifications! Its as if he was reading my mind.The new tattoo turned out great! I couldnt be happier. The entire experience was one you rarely get anymore. Impeccable customer service. The entire shop, Erica, Steve, Army Steve, and Josh treated us like life long friends.If you go anywhere else to get a tattoo, you are a fool.

I constantly hear people telling others to mull over a tattoo idea for a year to make sure that you wont regret it. Let me just start by saying that I could not regret my tattoo if I tried!Two weeks ago, I walked in knowing basically what I wanted, and the entire staff helped me out immensely. Scheduling an appointment was easy and only took a few minutes. Just to see some previous work, I flipped through the look books they have sitting on the front counter, and I was really impressed by what I saw. Okay...some of the tattoos should never have been done (Im talking about the one on the inside of someones bottom lip), but if the customer wants it and is okay with it, then by all means.So today, I walked into the shop again for my appointment. It would be a lie to say that I was not nervous. Todd took care of my piece and was amazing! He listened to my ideas and created a mockup better than I ever could have imagined! I felt completely comfortable getting my tattoo, especially after Todd explained his equipment to me. You get to watch the artist take the needles and tubes out of the sterile packaging, so you know for sure that there will not be any chance of infection from the needles.The experience was great; the staff was great; the price was great. And my new masterpiece is phenomenal!

I got my first tattoo here a week ago. I was impressed by the artistry in the photos of other work that had been done here, cleanliness of the shop, and the friendliness of the entire staff. I was a little nervous but everyone made me feel very comfortable and put me right at ease. Presley designed exactly what I had in mind and made my whole experience a pleasure. Didnt even hurt! I had an amazing tattoo done today at K Town Tattoo. SEAN was the tattoo artist that helped me. He was very nice and very helpful. I showed him what I wanted and gave him free range on the flowers around the turtle. I was blown away at how absolutely gorgeous it turned out. I highly recommend him and K Town to anyone looking to get work done.

I just got my 4th tattoo the other day and wanted to write a review. K Town was awesome. I recently moved to the BI and wanted a tattoo and this place sort of jumped out at me. Presley did my tattoo and she did an amazing job. Shes super good at color tattoos and also has a wonderful personality that made me feel comfortable. So I recommend her completely. I also watched my best friend get a tattoo by Todd and WOW... it turned out spectacular. I also met other artists in the shop and they were all so friendly.. including Sandee. I really enjoyed the experience.. I felt really welcomed and the prices werent bad at all. Im a broke college student so they really worked with me. The place was super clean and tidy. I would absolutely recommend K Town Tattoos.

You are seriously doing yourself an injustice if you dont ask the artists here to see the flash theyve drawn up in their spare time. I saw some of Rebeccas art - an artist who works here- and found an octopus she had sketched was exactly what I wanted. My octopus turned out gorgeous, and Steve-another artist- did my boyfriends tattoo and that was amazing as well.If you are looking for a quality tattoo in a clean shop well maintained by professional yet open, and laid back artists, this is where you want to go. They work with you and are incredibly friendly. Shout out to Emily the piercer and apprentice who was incredibly friendly and approachable throughout the whole process. Color or black and grey, I would recommend this shop very highly!

Loved them! They were super accommodating and had artist come in early for my friend and I to get our tattoo before our flight home. They had a very clean shop and I felt confident in their professionalism and skill as soon as I walked in. Presley did an amazing job on my tattoo even doing the stencil multiple times to get it just right on my back. Her attention to detail was awesome. She should be called Painless Presley. Love my tatt. #7 tattoo was a perfect souvenir.

My wife and I were on vacation from the mainland and decided at the last minute to get tattoos. The owner was easy to work with and very friendly, the shop was clean, and the location was very accessible.The best thing though about the whole experience was getting to know Steve and spending the afternoon being tattooed. Steve is super down-to-earth and was very eager to make our tattoos (and designs) work for us. He was quick, efficient and did great work. Hes also a killer guy to get to know.The one downside was that on the Friday afternoon we were there, the shop was understaffed. It was just Steve and an apprentice in the shop, and between the paying customers with scheduled appointments and the foot traffic coming in off the street - they had their hands full. To their credit, Steve and his co worker answered questions, booked appointments and were apologetic with us about the interruptions. Based on the number of walk-ins, phone calls and a full tattoo schedule, there needed to be one other person working the store.

-Dont schedule unless youre willing to get flaked on by Erika- I came in with some friends a couple days prior and scheduled an appointment with Erika despite certain doubts we had. My friends and I came in, the day of, a few minutes before 5 and the other artist, Ryan, was tattooing someone and said he would call her. 20 minutes goes by and she just doesnt show up. Ryan finishes up and asks what we wanted to get done, he told us that Erika was unavailable. I dont think this her first time doing this either. This wouldnt have been that bad if one of my friends didnt have a design that she was supposed to go back and forth with Erika about considering it had a lot of detail. He said he might not have enough time to do it. This man had already tattooed 6 people that day and now he had to tattoo us. However, he quickly drew up 2 of our designs and got to work and brought another woman who was super nice and helpful, to draw up my friends design. These two people maintained a postive energy and experience for us despite having to pick up someone elses work. Moral of the story: a business should uphold to certain standards and flaking on paying customers fails those standards. Schedule with Ryan and save yourself the hassle. He is why I gave 3 stars instead of 1.

While on vacation last week, my fiance and her mother and sister all went to get tattoos from K-Town as part of a Mothers Day gift. We asked around Kona and checked out a half dozen tattoo parlors, and from what we saw and heard they were the best in town. We set an appointment for the day before we left so that we could enjoy the sun and ocean as much as possible while we were there.When our appointment rolled around, they stayed long past close to make sure to get all the work done. Due to an unfortunate series of events, the last tattoo, my fiances, was in need of some touch-up work. I sent an email that night explaining the situation, and I was contacted by the owner and head artist first thing the next morning (literally dawn) explaining that they guarantee their work and that if we had the time to come in that morning theyd do the touch up. So we met them at 6 a.m. and Erika did a fantastic job touching up and improving my fiances tattoo.The staff there was incredibly helpful, and Sophia was an absolute pleasure to talk with. Despite there being some miscommunications, we had an incredibly positive experience and ended up with some very nice tattoos. Erika and Chelsea both have great designs and great work, and Erika in particular was knowledgeable, steady, fast, and had a light touch. They even gave my fiance a free set of gauged plugs to make up for the extra bit of trouble we had to go through, and coffee for all of us when we came in for the touch up.I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to get some ink done while they are on the big island, you wont find anyone better:)

I had a tattoo done a year ago and it needed to be fixed a bit and Erika completely took care of me. I was in Kona last week and Erika got me in first thing in the morning just before our trip was over (so I wouldn’t be in the sun worrying about the ink during the trip).Max who taught her stays in Hawaii for the month of February so he did my new tattoo and it was just a great experience - I brought in photos, described what I wanted, colors, etc. He drew ideas on my arm until I liked it then he wiped it off and started, freehand.I was able to make suggestions throughout the process and he gave me his professional/artistic opinion too which was wonderful. I love it. It’s so colorful, beautiful, and unique (even though there are a lot of dandelion tattoos out there, this one looks different than anything I’ve seen!!)I will definitely go back if I decide on another tattoo next time I’m in Kona. I highly recommend K Town, lots of talent there.They also do piercings and sell a lot of different pieces if you are looking for that.

Id been wanting to add to my tattoo for a long time, and happened to stop in at K Town on my last day of vacation in Kona. The shop was clean, the staff friendly and atmosphere welcoming. I was uncertain what I wanted, but Saudee at the front had a lot of great ideas, and Presley, my artist, was amazing. She drew up a great design and we sat for 3 hours while her art came to life. Even when my arm got angry she was great at keeping us both smiling. Amazing experience, great value, and fantastic tattoo. I recommend K Town!

Great service and excellent artist. Emailed and received a response by the end of the day. Owner Erika opened the shop early to work 3 of us in. We were done in 3.5hrs and our pieces look great. Appreciate her adding some of her personal touches to the art work. Would definitely recommend her in the future and plan to revisit on our next trip to The Big Island.

My wife and I decided to get tattoos during our vacation. We visited several Kona shops and read many reviews of the same shops that we visited. when we walked in to K-Town the staff was friendly, Todd worked with my wife to do a realistic picture of a flower that she had photographed that day, it came out beautifully. Josh worked with me to take a manta ray design that they had and alter several elements on the sketch to personalize it. Both tattoos took about one and a half hours to complete.Once the designs were finalized, but before they began they informed us of the safety- sterilization procedures that they follow, including always using new sterile needles and disposing of the used ones, etc. This was my first tattoo, and the information was reassuring.After the tattoos were completed, they verbally went over the care instructions with us, along with providing a printed sheet of the same instructions.It has been 3 weeks since these were done, they have healed beautifully and the art looks fantastic on both tattoos. Todd and Josh both did professional, quality work. We will be back in Kona in February, and plan on getting the next tattoo at K town.

I came in on a bright sunny day early in the morning and was greeted as a friend. I told the folks what I was looking at and what the reason for the artwork was and they got right down to business. We came up with a great piece of art work and my artist Todd did a wonderful job on the piece that was created. He was fast and did a great job that I had no issues with at all. I am very pleased with the native artwork I have now as they have helped me tell the story of my life in ancient Hawaiian symbols. I would definitely patronize them again on my next visit to the islands.

Ive been in shops before and K Town Tattoo is the BEST. Valentines new weds, we wanted our trip to be special. Erika, Lacia and Todd did just that for us. I wanted to get a tattoo to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. I happened upon your shop while vacationing in Kona - we have friends that own a home on the Big Island. This was my first tattoo, I really didnt know what to expect - but was very comfortable and felt that everyone there was professional. My tattoo artist was Josh and he put this precious red flower on the back of my shoulder. I am extremely happy with it and have had nothing but compliments about it. I got my belly button pierced at K-Town Tattoo about two weeks ago and I am happy to say that it has already fully healed. The service was great and they made me feel comfortable, I was very pleased with the results. The woman who did my piercing did a wonderful job, I barely felt a thing and it was over before I knew it.

Ryan hands down is the best of the best. This is the second time I had him blast my arm up and added an addition to the Polynesian tribal piece from prior. His free hand skills is always on point and the final product is flawless. Would highly recommend to anyone who is visiting or anyone from the islands. Will be coming back for more. The whole shop was clean and everything was organized.

I had read up reviews on local shops and even went to visit a few while I was on vacation in Kona last week. All the other shops I visited made me feel rather uncomfortable but when I arrived at K Town, I was warmly greeted in a clean and bright shop. They even let me go back and look at the work space which was very well organized. I booked my appointment and came back a few days later to have my piece done by Erika. I gave her the design (a seahorse) and showed her a photo of the color scheme I wanted and the tattoo came out absolutely stunning with beautiful color blending and Im beyond happy with it. If I find myself back on the island again I will absolutely have her do a matching seahorse in different colors mirroring the one shes already done. Thank you so much.

I have had 2 pieces done by Kat within the last month. Both have been extremely amazing experiences, a clean environment with covid safe artists that is so comfortable all of the pre-tattoo jitters just disappear. The artwork is clean and elegant, everyone there is very detailed about aftercare to ensure a healthy, clean heal for the tattoo. Every question I have had before and after was answered detailed and in a very timely manner. I would give 10 stars if I could.

We were walk- ins, visitors to the area, and they were the only local tattoo shop who would see us on Christmas eve. We took the holiday to solidify what we wanted then came back to be worked on by Josh. Great experience. A little stiff at first, but after making a few cracks to break the ice, everything was smooth sailing. We got honus, and even though they were completely different styles, they both came out great! Got a double helix piercing on July 14. My ear had been pierced once before with a cheap plastic gun, but K Town took good care of me so that my mistakes would not be repeated. Staff is super friendly and accommodating, got me in and out in less than 15 mins. 5 stars all the way around! Clean shop, good owners, good people!

I stopped into K Town looking to touch up and add to my shoulder tattoo. I wasnt sure what I wanted to add to it so I trusted in Josh to think of something and it turned out amazing! He was very friendly and an excellent artist. You dont find many places these days that can do something free handed. It looks beautiful and I am very satisfied. I was looking for a nice tattoo shop to get an unconventional souvenir from my vacation to Hawaii - I chose K Town Tattoo. So glad I did! The social media rep I chatted with prior to going was warm and welcoming. Sean was my artist, and he did a fabulous job - exactly what I described I was looking to get. Im very pleased with the process, the facility, the environment, the people, and now have something to remember my trip by that I can keep forever.As an added bonus, I was even more encouraged to go to this specific shop (there are so many in the area) once I learned it was owned by the same family that owns a coffee shop and a clothing shop in the same mall area. I have had many tattoos and have had many experiences with various artists but i can honestly day that the family setting in k-town tattoo was the far most enjoyable EVER!!! I was introduced to the shop by Erikas awesome mother who I believe has a coffee shop close by. My husband and I decided to check it out and we were suprised how inviting and just all aound curteous everyone at the shop was. From the manager to the artists, I had no doubts at all because all of my questions/concerns were accomidated 100%. I told Erika what kind of design I had in mind and expressed what I wanted to be included (such as birds for unity and a fish hook for protection and a bishop chess piece which represents my last name) and she drew me up a beautiful image that absolutley was just awesome and My husband an I were so pleased with everything we decided to both get the same tattoo. It was all together a 100% satisfied experience! Everyone was very inviting and accomidating and I am looking forward to setting another appointment next time I visit the big island. I got a tattoo of the Deathly Hallows on my right leg. They didnt know what it was but quickly found it and made it unique to me. I absolutely love my new tattoo. They chatted with me while getting it, but not too much chatting so that it was awkward, which was very nice. I would absolutely go here for another tattoo! I am very happy with it, and the gentleman tattooing me made me feel relaxed and comfortable.

Ive been in K-Town Tattoo with several friends. Erika who is the owner spent a good amount of time going over all the details and significance of each style.I was amazed because she was able to duplicate an old tattoo for a daughter who was copying a design from her deceased mom.The old picture they had showed the fading tattoo. Erika did a beautiful job making it look alive..She was extremely compassionate.My other friend got a wonderful Breast cancer survivor design with Maile. She also got a blue ribbon intertwined for her Dad.

This was my first time travelling, and i wanted something special to remember my trip, but also that meant something to me. Erika was awesome, she was able to take what i told her and create exactly what i wanted it to look like. Even when i decided to change it up a little from what i orignally wanted, she did exactly that, and kept it less then what i was originally quoted for the cost.The staff were all good people, when i was done with my tattoo, i decided to get some ear rings for my son, and i was given a good deal on them as well.My tattoo was 4 days ago and everyone i show it to asks where i got it, and say they love it.Thank-you for everything

Erika does incredible work. The tattoo looks fantastic - the detail and color are amazing. As a healthcare professional who has spent many years working in the OR, I appreciate the attention to detail regarding her aseptic technique and the steps she took to reduce the risk of cross contamination. The shop is spotless and the other artists are all very personable, as well. Lacia at the front desk, Zack, Josh, and Todd were a lot of fun and were willing to answer all my questions as they came up.I will definitely be back to spend more time in Erikas chair!

This was mine and my husbands first trip to Hawaii and halfway through our week I suggested we get tattoos as souvenirs. So 4 hours before our flight was to depart from Hawaii to home we came in. There was a little wait, I think theres only two people who do tattoos. But once the owner came up to me I showed her what I was looking for; a tree of life on my arm. Which was the size of a half-dollar and pretty intricate. She took my sketch and told me what she could and couldnt do then drew up my tattoo. A little over an hour later it was done. Perfection. I am in love with my tattoo; she took her time to get it right. My husband also got a tattoo(a quote on his inner arm) which the gentleman there did. His looks awesome and is just what he was looking for.Needless to say Im very pleased and plan to come back every time we visit.

Josh did a superb job on my tattoo, my mother’s, my sister’s and my best friend’s. He listened to what we wanted, drew up a design and hit the nail right on the head with each of them. Very professional and personable. Highly recommend!

On recent visit to the Big Island I was referred to this location from a coffee shop. My Marine tattoo had bugged me because it looked unfinished, so I took the opportunity to discuss adding to it so that it looked like it was a finished job. The ladies at K-Town were welcoming and took the time to discuss suggestions on what thay could add to the bottom to complete the job. They were helpful and cam up with a suggestion that I liked and we set the appointment.I was impressed with the shop and the professional manner in which they worked with me. When I am ready for another picture, I will certainly return and have them add it to my small collection.Thanks ladies for a great, quick and professional experience.Mike

Visited K Town this past Saturday with my wife and best friends before leaving Kona. Absolutely loved the vibe and tattoos we got from Katarina & Ryan. My wife and Katarina basically became best friends and will be cage diving with great whites in no time. 10/10 would recommend!

When we were in Kona, my husband wanted his first tattoo, and based on the reviews, we chose K-Town Tattoo. Heres his review: We were warmly greeted and asked what we wanted as a tattoo design. After looking at a number of books, we met Josh, one of the tattoo artists there. He was great. We thoroughly outlined the goal of the tattoo, and he was extremely open. We came back a few days later, and hed sketched out a beautiful hanu. I was impressed with his skill and his personality. The tattoo took only 1 1/2 hours and is an art piece that has a lot of significance for my Hawaiian heritage. Im enjoying showing the tattoo to friends and family. I would recommend K-Town and Josh. (A vote of confirmation from me - its beautiful, sexy, meaningful, and I look forward to enjoying my husbands tattoo for years!)

Loved my experience at ktown! Was visiting the big island with a large group of friend celebrating my birthday and wanted to get something to commemorate the trip. Did plenty of research to fins the right place to go and absolutely loved Rebeccas work. Got in touch with them to book the appointment in advance and get a plan going. Got set up with an appointment but not an artist specifically. As the time got closer to the trip I was stoked when Rebecca called and said she thinks she would kill this piece. I was sold. Well needless to say she didnt disappoint. It was everything I thought I wanted and more. Definitely a great ending to an amazing trip. Only problem is now I want to go back already to expand. 5 of my friends also decided to get some work done before leaving and every one was done beyond expectation. Highly recommend this place whether youre a local wanting to add a piece or two or someone visiting the island wanting something to remember the trip by.

First off, let me just say that I love K Town Tattoo and body piercing! Leisha and the artists are friendly, the shop is immaculate, the location is perfect and the prices are competitive.My artist was Erika. She s extremely professional, knowledgeable and experienced. My first anything with her was a piercing around Thanksgiving. My experience was flawless. I was so impressed, that I brought my husband to check it out. Now its March, since November Ive gotten another piercing, and 2 tattoos by Erika. One on my wrist and a sleeve on my leg. My first piece, I brought in a design and Erika made it SOOOO much better, that for my sleeve, I told Leisha what I wanted when I booked my appt, Erika went and checked out the REAL LIFE IMAGE and then killed it with the design on my leg. I trust her artistic talent and vision and so far she has not disappointed in any way.My husband has gotten a sleeve on his arm done by Erika and is scheduled TODAY to do another piece. Hes also sat with Todd, another talented artist at K Town, for 3 other pieces he had done; but he can write his own review. :-)I recommend K Town to everyone looking for ink or piercings in Kona. What a great job by Steve! Had an appointment with him on Monday. Up until now Ive only allowed 1 artist to work on my arm. Gabe from Mint Condition in So Cal (hes awesome)! But if Im ever back to the Big Island Ill make an appointment with Steve again. Great work. Very professional. He made sure everything was exactly what I wanted before he started.

The atmosphere was very welcoming Just a heads up to anyone thats into piercing, the shop carries a nice inventory of some original stuff, that you wont see else where in town. Josh did an exponential piece on my leg, that I am just in love with, from tweaking a design I found online, he also collaborated the design what he reciprocated from our conversation. He explained each design, and made the tattoo very detailed. If youre looking to spend and get your moneys worth, I highly recommend K Town !

Four of us Canadians decided to get tattoos while in Kona. We did some research as there are few tattoo shops around town and based on positive customer reviews, we chose K-Town. Sean O’Flinn was my artist that helped design my custom tattoo. He is professional, personable, creative and just an all-round nice guy. All 4 of us were very satisfied with the work performed and highly recommend Sean and the rest of the team at K-Town.

A hidden gem in a world of competition. Every other shop in Hawaii, let alone in Kona, caters to the tourist industry, charging extremely hi prices and little care to the customers desire for ink.This is not so at K town tattoos.They go above and beyond for locals and tourist alike.I called at 5pm on a Sunday night. They not only fit me in but gave me exceptional service. I was asked what I wanted and price was more than appropriate!Gus, the new apprentice, worked on my tattoo giving patience to every request, his beginning skills are excellent. When I was looking for a tattoo parlor I was a little skeptical to go and immediately get a tattoo from someone I had not researched prior. Im on an extreme budget and as soon as I told them my idea we figured out a reasonable price. My artists name was Todd, and he did the most beautiful tattoo I have ever seen. Ive had it for one day and not only do people comment on its beauty but the skill that was needed in order to do it. He took his time and made sure every line was perfect and it really comes through. I could not be happier! This is the place in Kona for tattoos!

After watching Erika work for a while, I decided that I wanted to get a souvenir tattoo of my trip to Hawaii, After walking around shopping, I called the number and scheduled an appointment. Erika is personable, friendly and very customer oriented. She does everything she can to make sure that she fully understands the scope of the work you want done so that there are no misunderstandings and you are completely satisfied.Scheduling an appointment was easy. I called, made the appointment, and only had to wait a few minutes before she saw me. The tattoo shop is clean and comfortable. Erikas work is quite detailed and done exceptionally. I was more than satisfied with the final results and,most importantly she really listened to what I asked for and delivered it exactly as I had envisioned.The prices are competitive. Erika is a excellent artist. What more can you ask for?? Plus my souvenir will still be around after you have hung up your coconut bra, or hawaiian grass skirt.

K-Town Tattoo is a very clean, professional and friendly shop. On the last day of our vacation, I came in with my husband, to wait while he was getting a tattoo and Preston was available to do a flower piece for me!! Preston did a fantastic job, very quick, clean lines and incredible shading on the flower! I had a wonderful experience with K-Town Tattoo and would definitely recommend them to any travelers wanting to get a tattoo during their visit to the Big Island.

I visited here from mainland US while I was on vacation, and I couldnt have picked a better parlor to get my first tattoos. I got a beautiful arrow on my right wrist and the phrase stay gold underneath my left arm, done by the very talented Chels. I had tons of help with the font and design from Sandee, who also set a very reasonable price for the job. The tattoos fully healed within two weeks and I havent had any problems with the healing process; it was very easy to take care of them because of how professionally they were done. Long story short: GO HERE. You wont be disappointed.

I regret this tattoo. Reviews looked great I just walked in and chose off the owner’s wall this turtle. Look at the crooked lines of the legs of the turtle. Not to mention how it’s already fading terrible. Look at it next to tattoos I’ve had for years - this one is only 3 months old and it looks ancient compared to the others. I have to get it covered up. My friend got a manta ray before me and it came out much better. She put all her energy into his I guess. . . Very upset too much money for something on my arm I have to get covered up.

As Walk-In’s me and my wife wanted to get some Hawaii souvenir tattoos. We were immediately taken care of. What we wanted were small so we, assumedly, paid shop minimum ($70) for them. The guy doing them was new, only tattooing for a year, but what we wanted was hard to mess up and we walked out happy and with another experience together. Was also able to get my wife’s ear’s double pierced right after our tattoos for another $60. Great experience, no anti-tourist vibe or anything. Would come back again!

First and worst tattoo experience. Was bounced through 3 different artists and seemed like walk-ins were prioritized above scheduled appointment. We agreed on a price through one artist and then got passed onto another, when we came in for the appointment, the second artist was frazzled and never drew up the piece for our appointment so passed it onto another artist which couldnt draw the piece that was requested. Long story short, we settled for 8 simple letters that took about 10 minutes for ring tattoos and when finished we were told we owed $147 on top of the $120 we already put down for a deposit. Will never return to this shop!

First tattoo, November 11, 2012. Just a simple black heart with some curliques, filled in with two shades of pink. Presley did a good job; she likes working with color so if thats what youre looking for, look for her! Shop was clean, everyone very friendly. Sandee was very helpful as we started the process of talking about tattoos. Would definitely recommend!Jamey doesnt have a Google account so Ill post his review with mine. He came up with the great idea of a replication of our wedding bands which is a wolf totem chosen for the fact that wolves generally are incredibly loyal and mate for life. Erika, however, took it to the next level on his arm band. It was amazing to watch her freehand draw the remainder of the band that couldnt be stenciled on. And she was FAST. Erika, as the hatchmarks turn into the powder gray, Ill try to remember to send you updated photos. The band looks better every day.I should have also noted that we received very good instruction on the care of our tattoos, safety precautions, etc. Well done.Again, highly recommended! Thanks for a good first experience.

Erica, the owner set up a 4pm appointment for my husband and myself 2 days out. Said Todd for him and shed do mine. Olde she keeps the phone losted amd can text jer a photo ofy idea. I did but when we showed up, she blew it off with a half laugh and asked me about it. The person she finished up with was a tad nervous. She tolde sje jad to semd her daughter out to get cash, she wasnt accepting her card. News to us. Business posts all cc accepted. We asked amd she saod ya cash. We said but we habe cash for tip but rest wpuld be bank card. We troed 3 ATMS, all out per market happening. Todd said cash always preferred but card is okay. Then sje gets fidgety and bailed on us leaving both of us with Todd which also increased the total tat time. She didn’t say anything to us. Just didn’t deal with us, speaktoy husband and I at all. Oh she was around sporadically, popping in chatting gossip to Todd who remained focussed and professional. He had to stop 3 times on mine to assist and try to reach her to help customers. Id habe guessed Tood was the owner nased on her behavior. Very unprofessional to do, to us but also to him. It was very anxious-like behavior. Todd was great with back to back tattoo work that we were both happy with. Slight color factor issue on the stamen of my red hibiscus flower but its still beautifully done.

Got in as a walk in and didnt had to wait long to get an amazing tattoo. Price is reasonable and the artist did an amazing job with my tattoo, he was also really great in helping me finding the right angle and place for it. Thanks again :)[Ohana with arrow from a different artist]

This is the BEST tattoo place in Kailua-Kona, perhaps all of HAWAII! Starting with their customer service and going all the way through to the actual tattoo(s), everyone was friendly, Knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile. I got David Bowie tattoos, (three by Erika) and a water colour tattoo from Josh. I am VERY selective when it comes to David Bowie/Tattoos, and I did a lot of research before selecting K-Town Tattoo! They were FUN, extremely careful and sensitive to what I wanted. I now have some of the BEST David Bowie Tattoos in the world! Thank you Erika, Chelsea and Josh! I randomly came across K Town when I was in Kona on vacation. The shop itself is very cute and attractive-pink! Sandee was my piercer and helped me pick out a new belly ring. She did a great job. She also pierced two of my friends and they were both very happy with the experience. They were able to get us in quickly and even stayed past their normal business hours for us.

Erika was recommended as one of the local experts on polynesian tribal tattoos, so I made an appointment to have the piece done before I flew out on my last day.She hand drew the piece in the style we styles settling on something with a more bold Maori feel to it.I would recommend this shop to anyone visiting the area looking for more than just another tattoo.

I had two tattoos from Gus Bradles done and he did such an amazing job!!!! He took his time and i never felt like he did it because it was his job, but he did it because he is an ARTIST. The price was so low it made my jaw drop and I had to ask him if it was a mistake. Im sure everyone there is great but i recommend asking for Gus!!!! Also i have had tattoos done by two other people in Canada and Gus Tops them both!!! Thanks Gus from the guy with the Kona bicycle and turtle tattoo. I would give you ten stars is I could!!!!

I had planned to get a tattoo while in Hawaii on my honeymoon. I visited several shops but did not feel comfortable with any of them, as most were small and dingy. However, the minute I walked into K Town I knew I found the right place. The shop was clean and spacious, and Sandee quickly addressed me. I described what I was looking for, and we set something up for the next evening. When I came in, Baba offered several drawings, and when I wasnt 100% satisfied with either, he adjusted it until it was exactly what I had in mind. He was incredibly efficient, and didnt rush, which I appreciate since this was artwork that would remain on me forever. He had a great tableside manner, and was fun to talk to. The tattoo turned out perfectly, and actually healed faster, and better than the rest of my tattoos. Pricing was also incredibly reasonable, and worth the safety and cleanliness that the shop offered. I wish I lived closer so that I were able to go back!

I was on a two week vacation and received a card from a local swim suit shop..just happened to walk by..The shop was so clean I knew I was comfortable went in and talk to Sandee the awesome receptionist. Working together with one of my favorite artist, now! Erika came back in to town and was able to work with me to get a piece done on my foot in two days! I am a breast cancer survivor and had a friend design a tattoo to cover my scars and loss of my nipple. As soon as we walked into K Town we were welcomed by Sandee and another artist. They answered all my questions and concerns about tattooing over this kind of skin tissue and recommended we talk to Erika. Erika was very knowledgeable and understanding of the challenges that this kind of tattoo requires. Unknown to me my friend and husband set up a surprise appointment to have the art work done and the entire staff was amazing. Erika worked with me and my friend to tweek and get proper placement. The art work was perfectly executed and I am so happy with the symbol of the end of my journey. I can not even describe how I was treated from start to finish. Both Erika and Sandee were amazing.

I love my tattoo Steve took care of me and did a great 👍🏾 job. It is my first tattoo and he made me feel very comfortable and went the extra mile and put numbing spray on so it would not hurt when I take of the plastic.

My husband and I were in Kona for our honeymoon in August 2013....For years we had talked about getting Palm tree tattoos as our retirement goal is to spend our normally very cold Canadian Winters in the warmth of the south....One morning while having coffee in Kina we decided to go and get our tattoos as weddings presents to each other. The lady at the cafe recommended K Town tattoos so we walked over and were greeted by Sandra; a wonderful and helpful lady. The place was very clean, the staff were very health and safety conscious and they were so helpful in helping us design our wee tattoos.Our tattoo artist was Haena and he did a great job tattooing a sweet little palm tree on the inside of my ankle bone...His shading was great and he took great measures to ensure a safe and pleasant tattoo experience. My husband had the identical ( but bigger) palm tree tattood on the back of his left leg. We just LOVE our tattoos and it was a great experience all around. We were given a very details paper on cleaning and protecting the tattoo and some ointment to put on them to protect when we were outside.Overall we had a wonderful experience. This is not our first tattoos but it was one of my favourite experiences....Well done K Town.

Im an older guy and to be honest, Ive never been a big proponent of tattoos. However, a skin cancer removal left a really nasty scar on my back. Thinking that a tat would be a big improvement, I decided to get one while on the Big Island. I was a bit nervous, as this is forever, but after speaking with Steve for a few minutes and seeing some of his work, we generated an idea and went for it. And Steves artistry was superb! The scar is completely hidden and Im really happy with end result. I would definitely recommend this shop and especially Steve! Mahalo Brudda!

Amazing customer service! Had my nose pierced by Shawn/Sean, he was cool, calm, and collected and made me feel at ease! From the minute I stepped in the door, it was magical and felt like a 10 minute dream!Stevil Knevil did my tattoo and that was, hands down, the best 2 hours in Kona with a man that I had!I highly recommend them! I have had many tatto experiences and to say the least, they all made me nervous to get anymore ink. the first tattoo shop i walked into here in kona (i was 15) was ono tattoo: by first glance it was dirty, unprofessional, and the work i got done by chris(the owner) was horrible...the line work was messy and his hand was too heavy and he scared my skin. The second tattoo shop i went into here in kona was native flesh. i heard a lot of good things about them but the girl who did my tattoo was rude. She seemed like she had something against me and she definitly took it out on my tattoo which is so unprofessional. Its one of the sloppiest peices ive ever got. Needless to say, my tattoo experiences have been less than enjoyable. But that all changed the day i walked into Ktown tattoo. By first glance the shop looked like a doctors office, it was rediculously clean. The service i got was awesome as well. And even though i was so nervous to get my next tattoo, Erika made me feel so comfortable and did not do anything i didnt want her to do. I had something in mind and she drew it up 100 times better than i imagined it to be in my head..Its a cover up over the sloppy work i got done at native flesh and its beautiful, bright and clean. Soon, i will be back to K town for a cover up over the tattoo i got from ono as well. Thank you Erika and Ktown for changing and saving my perspectives on tattoo shops here in Kona! This place is terrible. From the very bad artwork to the tattoo artists that look like they are on drugs. Steve cant keep still and is way out in left field. He told us he needed a deposit for an appointment so we did then after the way he treated us by saying I may do your tattoo or it could be this other guy we have we decided to take our money elsewhere and he refused to give us the deposit back. He let me speak to a manager who proceeded to hang up on me when I asked for my money back. I ended up taking my business elsewhere and left Hawaii with an awesome tattoo. I highly suggest you look elsewhere from k town tattoo if youre looking for a good experience.

My husband got a rhino tattoo by todd last night and it turned out amazing. Evey one there was friendly and the ladies who were working the front desk were excellent. Its the best tattoo on his body. There was so much detail into it. Will defiantly have to come back!

I dropped in to K Town Tattoo about a month ago with my dad. We both wanted polynesian/hawaiian style. This was my first tattoo and although I felt nervous about it the staff immediately made me feel comfortable! Very professional and friendly. Ive been to Kona countless times and I love it there. I wanted to get a tattoo to represent my love for Hawaii and Josh drew me up something better than I could have imagined! I have small forearms and Josh managed to design everything I wanted to fit beautifully. My tattoo is now fully healed and looks awesome! Ill be sure to return here on my next trip... Thank you!

I love K Town Tattoo. While on vacation here in Kona we were looking for a tattoo shop and K Town was recommended. I called for an appointment the day before and was given the booking line. So I called there and was treated really well. We were immediately accommodated with the time and date we wanted. I was asked to send pics and ideas of what we wanted so the artists could prepare in advance. When we arrived, we were greeted very pleasantly by Sandee who showed us the design for my tattoo. Apparently my phone autocorrected and they got the wrong information. No worries! Presley, my tattoo artist, and Sandee worked with me and Presley free-hand designed a new version. We worked together to make the ideal ink and its amazing! She has a great touch, and loves her work. I now have an original design and a favorite tattoo artist and shop! Thanks Sandee and Presley. Next trip to Kona Ill be stopping in again.

After a minor mix up with which artist was going to do my tattoo, I was given 1st class treatment all the way. I couldnt be happier with the help I received bringing my idea to life. Their facilities were state of the art and very clean and well maintained.I wouldnt hesitate to recommend K-Town Tattoo to my friends.

They are very professional and explicit about their sterilizing procedures, with fliers and everything. They explained to me before I got tattooed that getting a tattoo in Hawaii can be dangerous, because there are very few required certifications of sterile setting or practice. I think I will make going to Hawaii for a tattoo an annual trip, because they offer return customers a good deal, and of course touch-ups on previous work done there are free. And the people know to give you an appointment right before you leave, so you dont have to worry about burning your new tat ( which it seems would just hurt) or getting too much sand on it.

Not a great experience. Called and emailed for a tattoo and was given the green light. Once we arrived the guy was rude and told us he didn’t have time for us and he was going home soon. Later on texted and said he was free but we took our business elsewhere. Need to have better communication between staff and better customer service.

Ive been wanting a tattoo for years. Planning and searching for someone to bring my design to life. My fiance and I came across K Town Tattoo on Alii Drive. As soon as we entered we were greeted with aloha from Sandee (LOVE her!). She was very friendly and informative. She took the time to get to know us and what we wanted. She had great recommendations and knew exactly which artist to pair us with.Josh Danao was the artist that created my amazingly beautiful tattoo of a mermaid down my side. Seriously, its GORGEOUS! A picture doesnt do it justice. Anyway, he over exceeded my expectations on this design. Im not really big on bold colors in tattoos, but he added just a hint of color, almost watercolor like, adding definition and just improving the overall look of the tattoo. Im am one happy customer!! Super anxious and excited to go back for more!!

While visiting Kona, I decided to get my nose repierced (it had been out for 2 years). Sandy was more than helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. The store was very clean and sanitary. Sandy spoke at length of how important having a sanitary environment and sterile supplies are of utmost importance. I appreciated how she explained the procedure in detail. Everything about his place is great: artists and staff, location, cleanliness, and of course, Ruby (their sweet service dog). I walked in on the day of the appointment with a bare bones idea for a tattoo and only an hour long appt. Steve (aka Stevil Knevil) ran with the idea with nothing but a phenomenal attitude and awesome jokes. Steve provided the most beautiful black/white piece with great detail and precision, and no regard for time restraints despite any other obligations. Steve worked for 4 hrs (including freehand draw). I highly recommended this location but even more so, Steve. Thank you!

A big group of my girlfriends went to Hawaii to celebrate my 40th birthday. We had such a wonderful trip and celebration that we decided to all get matching tattoos to be a memorable souvenior. We did some research and asked around what place would be the best. K Town Tattoo was highly recommended by everyone. We decided we would check out the tattoo shop. We were greeted with such Aloha by the front counter girl, Erika the owner and lead artist put some design ideas together for us. Each of our tattoos match perfectly. We followed the aftercare instructions and all of our tattoos healed perfectly. Erika is a great artist and is very in tune with what you would like. I highly recommend this shop to everyone wanting a quality piece that you will be happy with. Thank you K Town Tattoo for such a great experiecen and for helping me celebrate my 40th birthday.

This was our second time here. Both times were were extremely pleased with our tattoos. Steve was chatty and fun. He is great to work with and it has been over all a great experience. If we make it back again to the island, we will go back to K town.

Went to K Town on vacation to the big island, and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the shop, and how friendly and easy to talk to the staff was. I got an armband done and it looks great. Erika did an awesome job, and the prices were awesome as well!

I was kind of stranded for a few hours till I had to fly back to Utah. And was figuring out what to do to kill time while carrying one big bag and a carry on around. I walked into this shop and talked with a girl by the nickname of Icy? I just remember Icy and I went to a show that her daughter danced in. But Icy was really helpful and patient as I was trying to figure out what to get. She was real quick, not a heavy hand, and Im just happy I had her do my tattoo!! Was really appreciative that she took me in when she did and on such short notice.

Went to K-town tattoo with my girlfriend. She got an amazing tattoo on a walk in with Rebecca. While she was getting hers done I had the best opportunity to meet Stevil Knevil. We talked about ideas and he drew up an amazing design on the spot. Next day and 4 hours later I have my best tattoo also the best tattoo Ive seen. Steve added a ton of heart into his creativity and killed it. If Im ever back in town Ill be making sure to stop in again.

It was my first tattoo experience and it was so much fun! I was super nervous at first, but steve (Stevilkenevil) made it so easy to follow through. He made it hard NOT to match his enthusiasm and excitement. He helped me create the design of two little kitty cats on my arms done in water color (one in cool color scheme and the other warm). I DEFINITELY recommend stopping by to see these guys. They’re so awesome!!!

I had been in touch with K Town for several months before my visit, discussing what I wanted to embellish my MDot tattoo, and made an appointment with Erika. By the time I arrived I had changed my mind about the design I wanted, but that posed no problem at all. I was presented with a honu graphic and I discussed modifications with Erika. She basically only used the outline of the template and freelanced the tribal design. The result was amazing! I wish I could post a photo here because I am so happy with the results. Im giving them a 1 star because it wont allow me to give them a 0. I was quoted a price of $125 when it was down they said it would be $150. When I asked about why the price went up they said that he starts at $125 but is $200 an hour. My tattoo took literally 10 minutes to do and he didnt even draw it up so I dont get how a plain black tattoo of the islands in my foot cost so much. The gentleman who did my tattoo was extremely heavy handed and when he did my tattoo he didnt use a shading needle only a lining needle so it is very blotchy and is going to need to be redone (not there!). He was very unsocial and didnt say a single thing to me then entire time. They do have a clean shop, but I wouldnt suggest this shop to anyone!

Great place, the artists were very welcoming. But I did have a small issue where I booked an appointment with a specific artist but when I got there I got informed that he wont be doing my tattoo and was replaced with another one. However he did my tattoo beautifully so Im not too upset.

I had plans on getting a tattoo before traveling to the big island for a vacation. I was referred to Ktown by a local in town, and I am glad I listed to them. The experience was great all the staff was friendly, experienced, and professional. I had my Honu (sea turtle) tattoo done by Todd who does phenomenal tribal art. Thanks for the great experience.

I was on a 10 day vacation to Kailua-kona with my family. Had been wantinga seahorse tat for a long time and had gotten a referral from Abby at the coffee shop across the way. I walked in and Todd was available, he and the staff were very friendly and he did a great job on my seahorse! I hope to return to Kona one day, and I would definitely go back to K-Town! Perfect tat to have a forever memory of our fantastic trip to paradise! Thanks again Todd!

ERICA IS THE BOMB!!!! I’m a loyal, long time patron of K Town, and I have to be honest, Erica provides quality, honest, and affordable service I have yet to find elsewhere. She offers knowledgable advice on aftercare and piercing maintence. She set me up w/ some jewellery for a wedding, gave me detailed info of my purchase, and even helped me apply my new pieces! I have always recommended her to everyone I know, and will continue to do so!

I came in nervous and unsure. Steve my artist reassured me and did an amazing job. i wanted the horde insignia on my heart, Steve had no idea what that was... but that didnt stop him from realizing my vision. the tattoo took way long, but that was entirely my fault. i was being a pansy the duration and Steve helped me get through it. i cant thank him enough, and the tattoo was amazing in the end.

My name is kayla i know some of the staff. i went in at around 6;00 and they close at 7. they stayed after to do my tattoo and gave me piercing too. they are extremely clean and well organized. they took care of the customers before me and did my tattoo after. Sandee a beautiful and wise women sat me down and spoke to me about my qoute and why i should probably not include a apart of it. she really helped me out. she found a beautiful font that i fell in love with immediately. and thank you haena! ill be back for a touch up soon. you guys really exceeded my expectations

I wanted a Hawaiian influenced Hammerhead Shark with a little originality for my arm. Todd delivered! His linework is so precise people dont believe he drew it, he did I saw him.The color he added enhances the overall look perfectly. I get compliments already and it has barely healed. I had a great experience.

My Husband, Mother-in-law, and myself walked in to get tattoos before we left Hawaii, we each made an appointment for the following day and they worked with us to get us in before our flight. We each walked out with a great tattoo, and they were all very reasonably priced!

This is my review I also posted on facebook:So I hate giving negative reviews. Infact, this might be my first. I dont hate my tattoo per say, but its not what was asked for. I will need to get it redone once its healed. What a waste of money.The artist seemed pissed that he even had to be there. I tried to be friendly and kind but he barely talked to me about what I wanted. Granted, my husband and I were 30 minutes late for our matching tattoos, but we did call an hour ahead to let them know wed be late and we paid a $100 deposit. Additionally we got there at 5:30 and they dont close till 7. The whole thing took an hour for both tattoos, it shouldnt have been a big deal that we were late.The artist was laying down in the back when we got there, I didnt even know he was there for the first 10 minutes. Instead I got to talk with a polite kid, showed him the picture of what we wanted, and he printed it to size. He traced it and the other guy set up ink and gun, glanced at what I wanted and said it wouldnt take long. Well this lack of communication between artist and client is a problem. He looked at the picture and saw something different from what I saw and tattooed away. I wanted a paper airplane casting a shadow of an airplane. The paper airplane looks perfect. The shadow was done with black dots because thats what the picture looks like. Yes the picture is pixelated but have you ever seen a shadow thats black dots? Also the picture is clearly a grayscale image for the airplane shadow, so if he was going off the picture he at least should have been able to color match.All this would have been tolerable if it werent lopsided and squiggly. I would have noticed if I hadnt been rushed to get it over with. This is my 9th tattoo and I should have known better. Ive never had so little communication with an artist. I dont know how hes been doing this for 15 years but he clearly doesnt like tourists ot the cliche common tattoos that many people like to get. I cant stress enough that you should not go here.Also the amount of money he charged for a 15 minute tattoo with just black ink is insane. The total plus deposit was about 150$ for a 4 inch tattoo. Ive never spent more than $75 for such simple, small design and usually tip at least $50. I tipped $20 and shouldnt have even left that.Dont let the portfolio pictures fool you, you will regret it if you are a tourist!

So excited as today is the day to get my new tattoo from Erika, this will be my fourth tat from this highly skilled artist as well as her tattooing my wife (she has 4) and both of my sons. went to visit Erikas new shop and was blown away as to the layout, design and decor. this time around, with the help of Leisha, we decided on a Marquesan design that will incorporate symbology for personal traits Erika will have full artistic freedom to design and draw as she sees fit (i trust her that much) you see that after all this time, my family has become very good friends with her family. Ohana is just as important as being the best ink artist on the islands

Ive been tattooed heavily from the brother Ryan at K town tattoo but In New Zealand before he moved back to his homeland. Amazing artist and human being, hes done my back piece and full leg sleeve pluss small little bangers all over my body lol doesnt matter the size big or small Ryan is the man for your next piece of art!
