Kaeo Hawaii Tattoo & Creative Studio

We were visiting the big island this week and Pashia got us in so fast! She did amazing work on my husband and my mother. Her line work is incredible and she is super understanding and down to earth. She did the tattoos exactly how they envisioned them. My husband changed his mind last minute on what he wanted and she did great on working with him and being understanding. His tattoo is perfect he loves it. The vibe of the tattoo place was comfortable and cozy and I really enjoyed being there :)

I got tattooed here twice and i really like the environment and the friendliness of everyone that works there! my first tattoo was from Isla, she helped me and comforted me through my first tattoo. my second tattoo was from Pashia, and she also did a very good job! it was quick and i felt really comfortable having her as a tattoo artist as well. and although it was pretty quick, she still did a very good job with it. 10/10 would come here again:)

Just got my first ever tattoo here and I booked with Em! First off impressions of the place were amazing! i loved it so much. The staff at the desk was super sweet, and all the artists who were there seemed really nice. When I sat down with Em we went over my tattoo design and it was literally perfect. I had such a great experience for getting my first tattoo and everything was more than i could’ve wished for. Em was super sweet and accommodating! The design was amazing and the actual tattooing was shorter than i expected. Overall such amazing vibes and personality from everyone there and amazing art!

Absolutely amazing! We had Em. My husband and I got tattoos to remember our trip in Hawaii. She was super clean and talented and it wasn’t too painful. It was my first time getting a tattoo and she made me feel so comfortable. 10/10 recommend

My boyfriend and I got semi-matching stamp tattoos from Pashia! She was SO sweet, super easy to talk to, and does absolutely beautiful work. The shop was clean, cute, and everyone there was friendly. 10/10!

WOOOWWWWW!!!!!! I contacted Molly a few weeks ago for a tattoo, on the condition that she choose my design and she agreed! At my appointment, I was blindfolded, stencilled, and inked and was rewarded with a fabulous scorpion made of little hearts- the most gorgeous little guy the world ever did see. Mahalo nui, Ka’eo ohana, for my new forever friend! I’ll be back soon, Molly and I were discussing a potential tramp stamp piece and I would be stoked to have her as an artist again!

I got my tattoo about a month ago from the amazing Pashia, and the experience was absolutely amazing. She is such a welcoming individual and very kind. Her art is absolutely stunning. I was privileged enough to get one of her abstract flash pieces. Everywhere I go people have been complaining her art! 🥰❤️ only wish I lived closer to get tattoos by her more often!!

Molly did a couple of little tattoos on me, and they turned out WAY better than I could’ve imagined. She was friendly, made me feel super comfortable & her artistry was amazing. The shop was different than any tattoo shop ive gone into, it was colorful & bright with snacks & plants everywhere. I would highly recommend this tattoo shop & Molly as a tattoo artist!

Pashia and Em did an amazing fast and great quality work for me and my husband. It was his first tattoo, so the girls were great to answer all of his questions, and being patient with him while he makes decisions about place and size! Pashia was especially great, so very sweet, and flexible, and making sure that the client left the place happy 🫶 aloha girls, it’s freezing back in Alaska so send us some warm sun!

I absolutely love Ka’eo, the shop feels like home and every artist is so unbelievably kind and welcoming. Em is such a talented artist who puts so much passion into her work you can feel it from your first communication with her. Having tons of snacks, drinks, blankets and stuffies to hold onto are so loving and thoughtful! I truly recommend anyone come to Ka’eo for your first, second, or hundredth tattoo, you will not be disappointed.

I have gotten a few tattoos from Pashia and I could not be happier with her work and the experience. She was more than willing to work with me on a day and time which I was very appreciative of. At the time of the appt I could not have felt more comfortable and welcomed. She truly provides such a safe and welcoming space! While planning a trip to Big Island I contacted Kaeo to see if they could get us in at the end of our trip. Darren Duquette scheduled all 4 of us for the same day, and in total did 6 tattoos (2 of our group got 2 tattoos). My son and I only got 1 tattoo - his first, my second ever.He was awesome to work with from the initial contact (5 weeks out) and totally won us over from “hello.” He is that right balance of professional and personable.As for the Kaeo - the shop is wonderful. It’s so clean and inviting. The vibe is comfortable and all the people we interacted with so friendly! They even have drinks and snacks for clients. It’s more like being in a “nice” salon (hope that makes sense).If you’re on the Big Island and want to get a tattoo I highly recommend reaching out Kaeo and get connected with one of their awesome artists.I will definitely have Darren do another tattoo for me in the future.

We came to Kona for a family vacation and planned to get tattoos before hand. My SIL found Pashia, and had already booked so I went ahead and requested. She responded same day, and got me booked. Super easy to work with, and so so sweet. My two tattoos were extremely affordable, and they look incredible. Loved the atmosphere, and the other artists were super sweet as well. 10/10 recommend, and will come back when we get to come to the big island again. 🤙🏼

Raukawa is the man! If you’re looking for some clean tattoos come to Kaeo. They have a ton of variety of artist with their own unique styles. We got some Māori traditional tattoos but this place has it all! Great vibe and great staff

If I could only get tattooed here forever, I would!! Ka’eo is truly a stand out— the artists are incredible and the space is so welcoming and friendly. My friend and I got pieces done by Mehana, Pashia, and Em while visiting Kona in June 2024. We initially went into for one each but both ended up getting two done because we were just having such a great time at Ka’eo. Both my friend and I have multiple other tattoos and agreed this was the best experience we have ever had. I would highly recommend for anyone going for their first time, but also their 50th. I can’t recommend Ka’eo and the team enough!

Em was my tattoo artist! She was incredible! My tattoo was amazing! She provided us great service and she was so sweet! I highly recommend going to see Emily if you want a sick tattoo!!

My family vacationed in Kailua-Kona and wanted to get tattoos while we were there. I have been to many tattoo artists but Pashia and Emily made our family feel welcomed and by far gave us the best tattooing experience I’ve had. From the initial scheduling process to the end result, we were very impressed (especially since two out of the four in the group were getting their first tattoos). I went in to my scheduled appointment with Em and came back the next day prior to flying home to get a flash piece by Pashia. If you are looking for a great place to get tattoos locally, or while on vacation, check them out! I met several other artists during my appointments who seemed just as great as the others! My family is already excited to go back within the next couple years for more!! I added 3/5 photos of the pieces we got.

Made appointments 6 months ago from home over 5000 miles away to have a permanent remembrance of our time on the Big Island. Through photos and messages we were able to give inspiration that equated to exactly what we were looking for. Em tattooed three of us while Che tattooed my husband free handed and from inspiration from their conversation . Its hard to research enough to trust someone with something as personal as a tattoo but rest assured the artists here are just what youre looking for. Mahalo from my ohana.

In October 2023, CHĕ Pilago did a piece on my leg, and I loved it. Everywhere I went for the last few days I was on the island, everyone was like, Wow, thats awesome, and asked where I got it. I must have shown 10 people his IG account. I appreciate him and his patience with me, and cant wait for him to finish the rest of my leg someday. When I am back on the Island or if he comes to Arizona.

LOVE this studio! The atmosphere, the climate and good vibes; especially the staff. Everyone is super friendly and accommodating! I made an appointment with Mehana for a custom tattoo (my first), from Alaska for a trip about two months out. The online booking process was straightforward. Darren is a great tattoo artist. I showed him what I wanted and he delivered even added an extra touch by shading. He was very friendly through the process and checked on me to make sure I was comfortable throughout the session. I plan on going back to him very soon. Very professional place.

The artists in here book appts and take deposits, then the day of the appointment say they have other appts sooner than originally discussed, charge you extra for the work done and then refuse to return the money that was originally given. They do not tell you their policies ahead of time, and if you are a few minutes late, become rude and belligerent AND THEN KEEP YOUR MONEY. Avoid giving them your time and money. Scam artists all the way!In response to the extreme unprofessionalism-- ONE of us was late--an artist cannot tattoo THREE people at once. What transpired was beyond ridiculous; keeping all three deposits given AND THEN charging again for the one tattoo that was done. The artist moved his original booking UP and interfered with the amount of time allowed for 3 tattoos. Im still wondering how he was going to get all 3 done in one hour when he moved another LOCAL customers appt up??? (and that customer was not even there at 10:50 when we left and we were told they were scheduled at 10:30). And then to disrespect paying customers, telling them they were elitists and entitled, and to get off your island and that WE were what was wrong with Hawaii?!? Sorry to say that the artists we dealt with that were rude and unprofessional are whats wrong with Hawaii. I hope yall get priced out of paradise! 🤷

I was referred to Ka’eo Tatto and Creative Studio by a coworker. After looking them up on IG and looking at each artists work, I made the decision to contact Mehana. I was so happy with the work she did and the environment made me feel like I was at a friends house. Everyone there is so welcoming and helpful. They chat with you like they know you and make you feel at home. I will only ever go to Mehana for my art now even when not living on island anymore. Definitely recommend this shop to anyone thinking or wanting new art.

Eugene did my me and husbands tattoo while visiting Kona. We stopped by on a Thursday to see if he could get us in within the next couple of days before we left the Big Island. He texted us back within a couple days and was able to get us in. He did AMAZING work on my husbands arm. It was kinda of a cover up but he incorporated it in the new tattoo. Eugene did 3 turtles on my left upper arm. I came in with a picture and all though very similar, there are some changes which I absolutely love. His eye for colors and drawing is the best. He drew on us and did not trace and place on us. It was all free hand and wonderful work. We are more than thrilled with the ink we got from Eugene and seriously can’t wait till next year to get some more done! The shop was clean and price was very fair! Thank you, Eugene!! We appreciate you!

We made an appointment for 3 SMALL tattoos and paid a deposit. We ran late and did one of the 3 tattoos then CHARGED additional money and refused to do the rest. Do nothing with this shop!

We have been going to Kona since 2001 and have driven by there probably 100 times . We never stopped there until yesterday lt was our last stop before going to airport to come home. Well my wife and I loved it there great place , awesome food and great service. The only thing that they need is some Philadelphia Eagles memorabilia . Lol

Rude customer service, ripped us off ; charged an extra 75 than what he quoted and the whole staff was in our face yelling at us. The dude didn’t even do the original tattoo he was supposed to 🙃🙃

I had an awesome experience with my first tattoo. Che is awesome, gave him a couple of pics and he turned it into piece art that tells a story! I’ll definitely come back!

Can only say good things about this shop!! Everyone is so welcoming and kind and I’m absolutely in love with my tattoo. Very fair pricing and a nice and clean space with a wonderful atmosphere.

Fantastic work! My only Problem was that on two occasions I had appointments at 11 AM and as I was pulling into the parking lot both times I got a phone call and the appointment was canceled. Then when I tried to reschedule I never received a phone call back.
