I’ve never had a bad experience here, Kat is my go to artist and she’s done incredible work every time. I’ve gotten 5 tattoos from her and they all look amazing, some i’ve had for almost a year now and they still look brand new. She is very creative and has given me lots of good ideas on how to improve my tattoos, and also making sure they heal properly and look their best. She’s always very friendly and will make sure you get the best tattoo possible. I would 100% recommend Kat for any tattoo you need :)

Worth every cent for piercings.walked in for a jewelry change for stubborn double nose done elsewhere only to discover my holes closed in the gap of my hoops. piercer was amazing! she offered to pierce then again. fast, efficient, effective, and super accommodating. took appropriate sterilization and repierced them in the same holes perfectly.i had piercings done here 12 year ago that have been some of my easiest piercings ever.

Went to Kat and she did two tattoos on my forearms, she’s so clean with her station and so friendly, she helped me pick the right size and placement for each tattoo. She was awesome!

I have gotten a tattoo and a piercing at this shop…very good experience with Kat one of the amazing tattoo artists! She did my 2nd big tattoo as an apprentice and then later touched it up and did such beautiful work! I trust her as an artist and friend! Secondly, Penny has given me the best experience with piercings! She has amazing accuracy and does a variety of piercings!

I walked in on a random wednesday and got my first tattoo by Kat and to say i am impressed is an understatement! the whole crew is so sweet and easy to get along with! since that wednesday me and my dad went back twice and going back again next week!

Very good experience for childs ear piercing on a Saturday. Saturdays are first come first served, so there was a bit of a wait when we arrived shortly after opening, but not too long. The music was varied and maybe a bit loud, but nothing offensive for children that I noticed. The piercing artist was wonderful. She was friendly but professional and very good with my 10 year old. The piercing was clean, quick and non-traumatic for her. They only take cash, which is good to know before you arrive, but have an ATM on premises, if you dont mind the fee. Great experience! 👍

It was a smooth process of setting up the appointment and getting this awesome dinosaur donut sketchy tattoo by Len. He really knocked it out of the park on it , it looks even better than I was expecting!

Just went down and set up a consultation and ended up getting a small tattoo while I was there. They are so awesome and amazing at what they do and always so kind. They really know how to make dreams come true.

My first experience in the shop was impeccable. i had an appointment with kat and i was her 12th tattoo i believe and first time doing blackout work. she walked me through the entire process including the science behind how your body reacts to the trauma. i was a little nervous but kat made a super comfortable environment for me. while waiting for her to set up, i decided i wanted to get the other side of my nose pierced and asked penny was her rates were. she added the pain from the nostril piercing would distract from the pain of the tattoo which was a great idea then immediately started setting up for me. her demeanor and energy were both very soothing and i was fully prepared to get it. the initial piercing was smooth and fast. she even made sure to place the marking slightly lower due to my other nostril tearing a little. i now have two hoops in and they’re so even and beautiful. penny’s service was by far the best i have received from a piercer. i felt like a person not just a customer. i decided i wanted to continue getting piercings from her and since then have gotten my medusa, belly button, and second lobes which are all done beautifully. at one point, my medusa embedded so i went back into the shop. i had been trying to push it out for 10 minutes but it would not budge. she ended up having to cut it out but it was much less painful than i expected it to be. she was updating me with where we were and just kept reassuring it would be out soon. she then put in a longer post and a larger back just incase it would embed again. overall, kat and penny have been the most welcoming towards me and i will absolutely continue going to them.

I have got 2 tattoos from Mind altering artists, and plan to go again for my 3rd! Kind and friendly environment, clean, and professional! Highly recommend!

Stop shopping around and come to Mind Altering for all your work. Kat and Va have done my work and I couldn’t have been happier with the end results. Got my vertical labret done by Penny, and I couldn’t love it more. I was quite nervous to get it but she kept me calm and told me she’s done it multiple times already. She lined it up perfect and with minimal pain i’ve got a sick new peircing!

A friend and I were walk-ins about a month ago. Len was great! We discussed designs a bit. Came back an hour later and he had options. We took the plunge. Hers was easy. Mine not so much. He took a lot of time outlining and filling everything in. Its an all black Evenstar, Lord of the Rings with elvish font. I LOVE it. I waited a month to write this review to see the healed result. I look at it and Im so happy I did it and I got Len as a walk-in. I was pleased the day I got it and now its healed and Im even more pleased. Thank you Len for your attention to the details. The elvish is truly beautiful! No regrets and I look at it every day and smile. Thats happiness.

I love going there. They are such a unique group of people. So friendly and helpful. Ive had 4 artist do 7 different tattoos for me and they have all turned out exactly how I wanted. And if there is any problems with a tattoo they are quick to get you in to correct it. They will have my business for years to come.

I had an awesome experience at Mind Altering Tattoos! I was able to walk in the day I went. Clint was super easy to work with!

They were able to fit me in for a small tattoo, and they treated me great. Just keep in mind they’re cash only and that you need to put a deposit down of $100 at least to lock in an appointment (which means two trips to their place)

Len and Sparx did awesome jobs with my friends and my tattoos. Amanda was an awesome piercer. Front desk staff wasnt super friendly but not a big deal. I love walk-in Saturdays!!

Got my lobes pierced by Penny and I love them:) shop was very clean and had wonderful service. will be back in the future!

If I could give more stars I would, I had an emergency visit after getting incorrect piercings at a different location. The bars that place had put in were way too small causing my ear to swell almost completely over the back. Mind Altering Tattoos was able to take me in with a less than 10 minute notice and was able to get them out and replace it with the correct sized bars. The lady who did it was extremely nice and made the whole situation better. I will be sure to get any future piercings from here!

Got a piercing. I like the placement, Im happy with the piercing, and I was very happy with the service. Which makes it that much more heartbreaking and annoying that the piercing literally keeps falling apart. Im serious. Their jewelry is so cheap that despite the fact that I havent been messing with it, the pieces that keep it from falling out of my face keep coming off out of nowhere and adding a ton of stress to my day. This happened 3 times in 4 days.I dont recommend going here for piercings from my experience and just to add, I havent seen a good tattoo from this place. And Ive seen a lot. Many can be compared to high school grade stick and pokes. Some of the most comedically fed tattoos Ive ever seen have come from Mind Altering Tattoos. I can name 4 people who regret getting them here due to how bad the tattoo turned out. Thats all I got.

I went to this place as a spur of the moment idea. I was initially impressed with how clean everything was. The employees were very friendly and found a way to get us in right away. The artist that tattooed me was very talented and the conversation just flowed. I got to shoot pool with the owner while my girl got her tattoo done and it was great. Ill go back.

I stopped in while on vacation for a tat I’ve been wanting to get. The staff was friendly and helpful. My artist, Brent, was experienced, professional and an all-around cool guy. His creativity and patience helped me fine-tune my design and I’m thrilled with the results. I highly recommend this shop.

Mind altering is such a chill place and everybody is so nice and respectful. my tattoo artist sings as well so while she was doing my throat tattoo, she was singing which kept me calm. very good experience eveytime Ive been there. hands down 10/10 recommend

I got my daith pierced by someone who wasn’t even the piercer, and it’s rejecting now. I dont think it was pierced properly

I have many tattoos and I can honestly say this is my first less than great experience with a tattoo parlor.I made the appointment several weeks back with a very nice woman with blue hair. She watched as my friend and I struggled to set a date & time as we are both from 2hrs away. We could not miss this appointment or have it rescheduled.My appointment was set to be first at 4pm.The day of the appointment my friend gets a phone call an hour before my appointment, that our appointments would have to be rescheduled due to the fact our artist was out sick. No worries it happens. But if the artist is sick, shouldnt we have recieved a phone call before the shift started?As we were already on our way I, personally, called back to ask if we could at least get our deposits back because we were from out of town and didnt know if we would be able to reschedule and to ask why I didnt receive a phone call first as my appointment was before my friends?The receptionist was beyond rude.She said she confirmed with my friend that I was sitting right next to her and that there was no need to call me to cancel/reschedule my appointment.Again why wasnt I called first, as my appointment was first!? What if we had driven seperate?She then said she would call the Owner and talk with him about getting our deposits back. I called her back after a half hour to ask if the owner had gotten back to her. She replied no and would call me back if he did.Three hours after that last phone call she calls me to say that Len had a cancellation and would be able to get us in, would we be able to take it? Great, we were luckily only 15 mintues away and were able to take it.Len, personally, is an amazing guy & artist. Laid back, steady hand, and just all around a good guy. I am very pleased with my tattoo from him.Waiting for my friends tattoo to finish I was never once really acknowledged or talked to by the other staff- the piercer, the receptionist, and some random chick that kept following the piercer around (very odd, but maybe an apprentice?).Glad I ended up get my tattoo from Len but pretty shitty experience with the other staffing.Overall will not reccomend them or be back.

Cody did my tattoo, it came out exactly how I wanted. This was my first tattoo, and he made me feel very comfortable during this process. It was a copy of handwriting and he put some test ink in different locations to determine the best spot. This is along my shoulder.I would recommend booking the appointment 1-2 weeks in advance.This photo is about a month after getting the the tattoo.

I love my cover up tattoo, the artist/owner was fantastic :) I got a tattoo during walk-ins and love it!!! Ive gotten my nose pierced here (very accommodating + kind staff) and had my belly button pierced here also.

Walked in to ask how much a nostril piercing was, as they dont have a proper site or have piercing prices on their social media and I was in the area.Receptionist was nice, gave me a price, and said they could get me in today. I was super excited.The rest of the staff sat around talking and laughing and hanging out. Was not acknowledged once by any of them. After sitting around for 20+ minutes, the receptionist came back and said that unfortunately they couldnt get me in that day and that I could try coming in for a walk-in the following few days or setting up an appointment.$60 for a nostril piercing is also super steep, considering the service I got. I paid $40 with the jewelry last time I got it pierced sans appointment in a different shop, and the service in that particular shop was stellar.Im only giving 2 stars because the receptionist was nice and I could tell she was a decent person.

Amazing place! Had a memorial tattoo done by Len and he worked so had to make sure it was perfect! Len did an absolutely amazing job! He is an amazing artist and cares greatly! I will cherish this tattoo forever!

Worst tattoo artist and tattoo fix up + color I’ve ever had done in my life. I went for a touch up of a previous tattoo I had done myself which just needed a line touch up and I wanted to add color and a few extra things. Extremely rude, over charged, rushed my whole tattoo didn’t fix what I asked at all or add anything that I asked. Better artists then the guy I had deserve the money. Don’t recommend this place out of many others downtown. I’ve had a bigger tattoo done for half the price of what I paid to be bashed talked to the whole time when paying for their service.

Loved the tatt I got here. A simple, cute but beautifully shaded crown and rose behind my ear! Deni was SO sweet and understanding and accepting of working well with you to make sure its exactly how you like! Getting another tatt with her, def love her, love it, and the place.

My son and I got multiple ink done here. And I took my daughter to get her ears done just yesterday for her birthday. She’s extremely happy and delighted. The lady that took care of her was nothing shy of awesome and very sweet. The pricing was more than just and affordable.

Overall good experience! Cat did my first tattoo and made feel super comfortable during the entire process. She was also incredibly kind and helpful. Tattoo turned out great too! Only complaint is the price being a bit steep.

Getting tattooed here was probably the best experience I have ever had and that’s saying a lot since I have 13. Len was professional and engaging. I will be coming back for #14 as soon as my husband is done with the design. 😁

Got my first nose piercing as a walk in. It was fast and so easy! The lady was super nice and talked me through it. Ten bucks cheaper than other places I checked. Good vibes all around. 👍

Great shop, I’ve got two of my pieces done here thus far and will be getting my future pieces done here as well! The owner and his family are some of the best people I’ve ever met. During my session, Cody treated me with a great amount of respect and was understanding of when I wanted or needed a break. He was very considerate and took his time to make sure my piece turned out AMAZING. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Staff are incredible and upbeat, the vibes of the place make you comfortable and at home for sure.

I was here over 2 yrs ago for a tattoo. They did a great job back then, so came back for another. One of the artists there who was originally supposed to do my tattoo this time, had cancelled twice and kept rescheduling for one reason or another. Well I walked in and talked to the owner and the owner of the place ended up doing the tattoo for me. He ended up being quite generous as he made the tattoo a pretty big size compared to what I probably originally would have gotten for the price I paid on it. As once they quote you a price, and you pay for it as I paid on it last month, they cannot change the price and charge more. And by the time the owner of the place got done with me, I looked to have a tattoo about twice the cost I would say as what I actually paid for it in the beginning. So, he really made things right with me today after me dealing with cancellations.

Cody did a FANTASTIC job!!!he was comforting and welcoming, the whole shop was. 10/10 recommend. i’m absolutely in love with this piece.

Over all highly recommend this place for clean piercings, and friendly staff!I got my septum pierced there a few months ago and it healed really well, and with no infections at all (it also depends on how you care for it) and it was positioned perfectly. The staff is very friendly! People normally say septum piercings hurt 7/10 but mine was a 5/10 thanks to the piercer. The worst pain I had was the two days after. On the sheet it said it would heal in 3 months but mine took 6, all people heal differently.

I have gotten most my tattoos over the years from this establishment. I keep coming back for several reasons, they are wonderful, no matter who my artist is they take the time to make sure what I am getting is perfect for me and what I had in mind, also they make the total experience relaxing. My most recent visit has been the best so far, it took several tries to figure out just the right size and placement for my cover up tattoo and my biggest piece yet, but Cody just keep sizing templates till we had it figured out. The tattoo itself turned out 100% better than I could of imagined and has set me further down my road of healing. If I get another piece, I will not hesitate for Mind Altering to be my first and last stop in finding an artist for new work. Keep on being who you are. Much love.

I absolutely love the environment of this shop. Currently working with Cat and so far it has been such a great experience. Highly recommend for your tattoo and piercing needs. The piercer does great with kids as well.Overall very professional, accommodating and clean!!

I got my nose re-pierced here because I lost my nose jewelry so I had to get new jewelry put in to re-open the hole. It was fine the first day, but the second day the piercing site began hurting very bad, I cleaned it and used salt and water solutions, still nothing worked. Today the pain was so bad that I just took the piercing out. There is now scar tissue in my nose with fluid drainage as well as very tender skin and excruciating pain. I will be seeking medical treatment to deal with my now infected nostril, and will now be letting my nose fully heal in hopes of maybe getting it re-pierced, but as of right now my nose is severely infected, and I would not recommend ever going to this place for a nose piercing. It’s not worth it.

Len did my tattoo and he was great! He was very patient with me as I tried to explain what I wanted, chose a font, etc. He made sure it was just right. He took his time, not rushing through and doing a sloppy job. Its flawless. I love it and cant wait to get another. Im on a budget and felt like his price was very fair. The rest of the staff were friendly. Ive also had my nose pierced there and the girl who does their piercings was so cool. Great personality. Id give Mind Aaltering 10 stars if I could.

We walk into here only looking to see the books and see if they can do what we want, we talked to the front desk and we’re meet by bao, she was AMAZING and helpful and sweet , we grabbed the books to look through and went to sit on the couch, in comes an artist “sparks” the old crack head seeming one, and he yelled at us saying we couldn’t take the books past the counter and yelled at then the poor front desk girl bao, just biased on him alone and the 45 seconds we were in there before being very rudely yelled it took away two costumers to never return again wouldn’t dare to walk in if he’s there

I had a lip piercing done here and had to end up having it cut out at urgent care because the tissue started to grow over the piercing. Piercer did not place a large enough piercing. Go figure. Now I want my nose done there and the piercer is NEVER THERE when scheduled to be. Just fire her already!!

I just got my piercing done on Wednesday(it is now Friday), and part of my belly button ring, the gemstone, fell out. I called the place, they said I would have to come in again and pay full value for a new piercing. It’s been two days and I have been super careful around the piercing. They should’ve done more than just tell me to come in again and pay full price for another piercing. I paid $80 for the full piercing as well. Very rude on the phone.

Drove over an hour to get to my tattoo appointment plus I arrived 30 minutes early. I find out that they booked someone else and I at the same time with the same artist. Nobody bothered to check me in, I had to flag someone down. And the front desk lady told me I had to reschedule after I waited 40 minutes, though I already paid and waited. This is the second time. Everyone was unprofessional, careless toward the customers, and had did not care that they waste your time. If you want anything done at this place, you may as well make your whole day free. Terrible facility. Don’t waste your time.

I get my tattoos done by Len. Even though theres not much conversation its because I listen to my music to keep me distracted from the pain. Ive gotten all 4 tattoos done by him and his work is amazing. I got recommended by my sister and she was right. The prices for them were reasonable and the people there are so friendly and professional.

I was so excited to get an arm piece done here by Greg. I scheduled it about 2 months in advance as he and I both have a busy schedule and I live almost an hour away. The day comes to get it and I am driving there to get (through not good serviced areas) and when I arrive to get my tattoo, they told me they called me a while ago to cancel my appointment due to him having ibs. I never did receive the call because of the service but they did leave a voicemail at 12:30. My appointment is at 1 anyways and again I live an hour away. I got there and obviously Greg was not there so no tattoo for me. I did get my deposit back and they offered me a slot for the following day but I have a busy schedule so could not take it. I will go somewhere more professional who if there is an IBS emergency could call me in the morning since they knew he was sick since then according to the front desk girl. Disappointed and unprofessional.

I walked in at 11 AM and by 11:20 AM I had my first piercing: a navel piercing. All the staff are excellent! Amanda was my piercer and was very professional. My piercing is 100% straight and perfectly placed on my stomach. I got a 14 gauge piercing and it didn’t hurt at all!With the beautiful jewelry and piercing it was only $45 total. To use a card it had to be a minimum of $50, so I was able to include a tip on my bill so I could use my debit card. They accept Visa and MasterCard. Maybe others but I didn’t look. There is an ATM in the building.Great music and vibes. The waiting area is very comfortable with portfolios to look at.The woman at the register managed three different clients all at once completely smoothly. No waiting at all.Everyone is so friendly and made this experience awesome 🤘🏻I highly recommend Mind Altering Tattoos. Plus their hours are the best in town.

Loved my tatto I got. At first, I thought that since we had to change my tatto up so it was in budget that it would be lame but after I got it, I loved it. To be honest, it is actually better than the original idea, and I recommend this place to all my buds

Mind Altering tattoos is the worst tattoo parlor in the area. I’ve been to several other parlors in town that have better customer service. My experiences there have been awful. I got a simple tattoo done that was rushed and done poorly. When I went back to get it touched up, I was denied. There was another instance where I tried to contact them about a concern I had, and I was treated VERY rudely by the women working at the counter. There are so many better places to get tattoos in the area. I would NOT recommend Mind altering to anyone.

Ive been to Mind Altering a lot the last 20 years but my last 2 experiences were the last for me. My last tattoo was with Sparx. Horrible experience. He was on a call on his cell the entire consult. I told him I did not want a solid black house and I wanted highlights in the house. He said he would. I got a solid black mass of a house. Its horrible.I got the worst tattoo on my body. I would never recommend Sparx to anyone. He has no respect for what you want.I also made an appointment for a piercing and was called to cancel right as I pulled up to the building. They had to wait to cancel until right when the appointment time was.

Did the walk in Saturday. Got there right at opening was 6th in line so not bad. Once I got the design set I had to leave and wait to be called. I had lunch down the block and they called right as I was done the tattoo itself only took maybe 45 minutes from that point. Definitely plan on going back

Overall a negative experience. I wanted to do a walk-in tattoo on a Saturday. I called ahead of time to make sure they werent too busy and I also would have a 1 hour drive. Upon arrival, the receptionist was extremely rude to all the customers. All customers were required to wear masks due to COVID (which is no problem), but none of the staff were wearing their masks correctly (falling off their faces, only covering their mouths not noses, etc). After checking in, doing the paper work, and paying, the receptionist then tells me the wait is going to be a couple of hours and would call me when I can come back, she couldve mentioned this before I did the paper work and paid but never did. So I decided to hang out around the La Crosse area which ended up to be about 5+ hours. I decided to call the receptionist to see if she had any idea when it would be my turn and she told me there are 4 people ahead of me and she had absolutely no clue when I would be getting in. I decided to cancel, I will be going somewhere else. I do not have super high expectations but being punctual and professional is expected, especially when I called ahead of time and prepaid. My sister had a similar experience also, except the receptionist booked her and another guy at the same time with the same artist. If you plan on going to Mind Altering, make sure you dont have anything else planned just in case.

5 of my friends and I decided to take a little trip from Winona, MN to La Crosse, just to get tattoos. I had read some of the reviews and was on the edge about this place. I can honestly say that it was an amazing experience. Everyone was nice, funny, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. At no point did I feel uncomfortable. I got my first tattoo done by Fox and it was a blast. He did such an amazing job at working with my idea, but also adding suggestions. Another friend of mine also got her tattoo done by Fox and had a great experience as well. Two others got theirs done by Zane, and we all enjoyed his quick wit and professionalism. I highly recommend this place.

First experience was great, got my cartilage done on a whim while I was there with a friend getting her nose done. They had my business and I was considering them for tattoo work in the future. Went in and got my nose done today. Completely different experience than my first. Receptionist was answering a facetime call while helping me. Piercer had an apprentice, which I didn’t mind. Until they bickered through my whole session and the apprentice rolled her eyes and gave her mentor attitude as she had the needle in my nose. Love my new piercing but the experience was horrible..

The artist that did my tattoo was Len. He was very professional, very clean work, and he took the time to look it over to see if theres any added touches. I love the details that he puts and listens to my request. Highly recommend if anyone needs a tattoo.

Awful time management. I came in at opening time on walk in day and was told that if I put my name down that I could come back later and walk right in and get my tattoo. After filling out paper work, paying and waiting for an hour at 11 I then came back at 4 expecting to be able to walk right in and get my tattoo as promised. I waited there again for almost 3 HOURS. When we asked what place I was in line we were given vague answers with no apology. Many people walked out or got refunded. However, the artist that came in saved the day and was amazing I 100% recommend Greg. Just be ready to spend all day with not a lot of customer service and lots of swearing from reception.

I got 2 tattoos that day. Kat the artist did an awesome job I thought. Someone else who saw my tattoos who has many tattoos, said she did a very awesome job on the very fine lines on my tattoo.

Went here for a belly button piercing. Then wanted to go back for a tattoo. I called asking if they had openings tonight for a rib tattoo and they said yes you can come in now the artist had a 1.5 time slot open. 10 minutes later I walk in and they said they couldn’t take me anymore because other people came in and my rib tattoo would take too long. All I wanted was a 10 word quote? A call back would’ve been nice...

Got my nose pierced here! the wound healed very nicely and did not get any infection. they were very nice when i called them for more advice.watched my friend get a small tattoo and it turned out beautifully without any infection or major inconsistencies

I got a tattoo here over the summer as a walk-in. I arrived right when they opened to make sure I got an appointment. Although they were open, they had NO tattoo artist available for two hours as they simply just hadnt come in to work. I left and came back when they said the artist would be there. Upon my return, the artist was still not there. When he showed up (this is the owner, Cody), he was eating his lunch and hanging out with his staff, not concerned at all that I had been waiting over 2.5 hours for him to arrive. My tattoo was small, simple, and just lettering. Even though the OWNER of this tattoo shop did my tattoo, the lines are unclean, sloppy, and my tattoo looks horrid. Im embarrassed to show anyone my tattoo because of how ugly the lettering is. It needed to be touched up immediately after it healed, but I will NOT be going back to have them fix it.

Mind Altering Tattoos were amazing!!!! After another shop did not honor an appointment for a very special mother daughter tattoo for my daughters 18th birthday we were devastated. We called Mind Altering and when they learned of our situation, despite being booked went out of their way to get us in. We were treated so well and our matching tattoos far exceeded our expectations. Sparx was so talented and the owner went above and beyond to make this a great experience. We will return again and highly reccomend this shop.

This place has terrible customer service. I believe when Im going to a business and Im going to spend ALOT of money I should be treated with respect. The lady at the front desk was rude and should not be working customer service. Because of her actions and disrespectfullness I will not be getting a tattoo from here nor will my family. We were all planning on getting tattoos and spending a lot of money.When we walked in and asked if we could make an appointment she immediately said Were booked for the whole day in the most snotty way possible. After saying that she didnt ask if we wanted to make an appointment for a later day. She just walked away. We had also dealt with her on the phone and she was also a snot.Good Customer service is one of the most important things to have for a business.It means showing the customer how important he or she is to you and the business by interacting with he or she in a friendly- helpful and positive way. Maybe if she would have tried to remedy the situation we would consider coming back, but she didnt. And has now lost our future business and money. Pity

Never do walk inn unless your planning to sit there and waist your day waiting! Plus another couple hours wait or so with a a ten min notice before they closed after waiting before they open! Knowing who is a head of me and after me! I was told 3 people a head of me at 1:30 that it would be my turn by 3:30! When I ask again at 3:30 I was told there was still 3people a head of me! When another person, that I noticed just got done that was supposed to be after me! Got serve before me! Talk about being fair to their customers! So technically seems like more people they know, favoritism or Wte that goes first, instead of going by the list that supposed to be come first come served! Price is over price in my opinion! Never again! Yes some people have good experience and some not! Unfortunately I’m one of the bad experiences! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Took my 10 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced for the first time. Kait was awesome! She explained everything, showed all the different tools, and took her time. I was worried about bringing my daughter to a tattoo shop but would definitely do it again. It was clean, private, and not rushed to get done. Thank you Kait.

My sister and I wanted nipple piercings done. We decided on mind altering tattoo for the place to go and it turns out we had an amazing experience !! Kait is incredible and awesome piercer and she makes you feel so comfortable and is tons of fun. My sister and I are extremely happy with the experience and will definitely go back to see Kait again !!

Horrible service. We called earlier to see if they could set up appointments they said they only did walk-ins. The next day we walked in to get our tattoo and they were busy and the lady said we could come back at three when it was available. Called later that day to make sure it was still free and she said she gave the spot to someone else. I asked and if she could write our name down because they do some type of appointments and she goes you have to walk in and set up an appointment, we were in the place earlier and she did not write our names down for an appointment. Just horrible service and lost our business.

I havent been in a tattoo parlor in almost 30 years. The atmosphere isnt like a tattoo parlor back in the day. And the artist has mad skills, Deni is absolutely fabulous.

First thing you should know before coming here, the front desk lady is very disrespectful and you can tell she does not care about you at all; just straight up snotty. She always claims the whole day is busy, but when the phone rang she RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME told somebody there was an opening at a later time... I scheduled for a later day knowing the artist would do a good job and that was the only reason I decided to come back, I put down a security deposit and left that day. When the day came for my appointment I WAS WALKING DOWN THE STREET ( I drove 30 minutes for this appointment and rearranged everything else in my life) and they call to say they have to cancel... I was outraged at this point. When you cancel a tattoo appointment 5 minutes before the scheduled time that is absolutely unacceptable. I let her reschedule me for another day because they WILL NOT refund your deposit. When the next appointment day came THEY TRIED TO CANCEL IT AGAIN; I had to complain and basically yell at the lady for them to realize this was not okay; she got me in with a different artist, but I WILL NEVER return or recommend this shop. Everybody literally just stay away.

Ive been getting my piercings and my tattoo work done here for many years. Great artists and staff. Nice selection of jewelry.

Drove an hour and a half to take part in their “Toys for Tats” drive. Their hours said 11-11, 7 days a week, so we weren’t in any hurry to get there, especially since the roads weren’t great. Arrived at 8:07 pm and the door was locked. Called and was told they were closed! Could also smell the weed from outside the door.... won’t ever consider going there again!!

Very Unprofessional, was told to wait outside due to COVID guidelines which is totally fine, but the worker told us she would check back in a couple minutes, she never checked back in, multiple people walked in following us being told to wait outside. We then walked in 30 minutes later to check and see when we could get in and the no worker said anything to us, we then went to the receptionist to ask how long it would be and she said she had no idea. Then she said that there were 15 people in front of us in-line, including many people that walked in after us and we were told to wait outside. The entire time they were not following covid guidelines, the receptionist was answering facetime calls loudly the entire time we were waiting and none of the employees were properly wearing masks. Very unprofessional environment.

I was over charged and they kept needing to reschedule cause their artist was tripping out.... when I got the actual tattoo by the owner or boss man in charge, he never shaved the area and never wrapped it up afterwards and I was charged 2x as should for size and such and the tattoo I got looks faded and older then the one I got a couple years earlier. and to top it off they fuqed up the design, luckily its salvageable... over all dont go here....

Very clean shop, talented artists, reasonable pricing, excellent attitudes, all around great experience and this was my first time getting a tattoo, so I was fairly nervous but the event wound up quite enjoyable.

I went to get my philtrum done. Was pierced crooked, and the bar was too short, therfore my ball kept popping off, and i was unable to screw it back on. Thankfully Sküder at Black Lotus fitted the right size bar for me along with an actual Titanium metal. My lip healed just fine as of now.

I got a tattoo with Zane. It was my first one, and he was so nice about it. He did a little line on the outline to let me see how it felt and he would also let me take breaks when i felt like it. He also talked to me during the process, to help me calm down. He is very very good and i highly recommend him :)

I went in on a Saturday and had an idea of what I wanted, Cody made a one of a kind really awesome tat.

Called 3 times for appointment for my wife for nipple piercings all 3 times verified a woman would be there on 6/30 since she was driving 3 hours to come see me. Woman who answered all the times said female piercer be there at 11:00 we showed up told its a man piercing today she wasnt doing piercings. Than on top of that wanted to charge more than the original price of $20 a piercing.. Even said we called for a female piercer told them what they said and didnt care... What a joke. On top of this now they lost a tattoo I wanted to get done. So for 2 weeks im gonna let everyone I see and I work retail never to go to this place its a joke.......

My tattoo artist (Jym) was not friendly toward me. Did not take any time to establish a good relationship and furthermore did not introduce himself to me, so the only way I knew his name was from the business card he gave me at the end. The tattoo I got was a phrase, and the last word is more heavily bolded than the rest. He did not go over the care of my new tattoo with me before or after giving me the care sheet. When I left the salon, no one said bye to me or my friend and I heavily regret giving him a tip. Will not return to Mind Altering but I hope those that go have a better experience than I did.

Issue accured in march 2022Never pay for a tattoo in full when dealing with this shop if you plan on having a larger piece done, I recommend going else where.. I payed $600 for a piece that the artist worked for an hour and then suddenly had plans and had to stop the tattoo, then when trying to reschedule the artist kept making excuses why he couldnt fit me into the schedule to have the piece finished.

I got a tattoo done there a while back and the guy doing it kept leaving to go and smoke. It made the work hurt way more than necessary because it had time to get tender. He stopped to visit anyone who walked into the shop and left me sitting there waiting for him for as long as he felt like. The work came out flat and poorly done. This ink is permanent and is going to cost a lot to get it fixed. It was a birthday gift to myself and I am really disappointed. It is on my foot so everyone sees it in the summer time and I have yet to get even one compliment on it. I think the artist has potential he just needs to focus on his work and not everything else.

My daughter and I got matching mother daughter tats. We were qoated $125.00 each. 3-4 inches on the inside of our wrists. We waited 4 hrs, it was a Saturday and walk ins only. We were there at 11am when doors had opened. When we said we wanted a small owl on each tat, they said it was another $75.00 each. NO WAY! So, I took off the cheap paper towel and masking tape they covered it with, and WOW, I see my tat where MOTHER is, its an INK BLOW OUT. LOOKED IT UP ON LINE AND IT SAYS IT IS FROM THE ARTIST PUSHES THE NEEDLE TOO DEEP OR AT THE WRONG ANGLE. (INEXPERIENCE).SO NOW, i AM GOING BACK TODAY WHEN THEY OPEN TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR ME. IF THEY CANT FIX IT FREE OR REFUND ME SOME $$ BACK TO MAKE IT RIGHT, THEN I MAY CAUSE AN ISSUE WITH THIS PLACE AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND ANY OF MY FRIENDS THERE. I just hope they make this right.

Walked in a 7pm asked to make an appointment and they said they were completely booked for the night all 3 employees were playing on their phones and no customers in sight never asked how big what was I looking at getting just a simple snotty were completely booked through 11pm came back 2 hours later to see if they had any cancellations and all 3 still playing on their phones but conveniently enough they were still completely booked oh well I guess I will find somewhere else to go and never recommend them again

I got my lip pierced and the bar was to short so it was cutting my lip so I went in and ask if they could put in a hoop they said that they can’t it’s to early but all my friends started with hoops on their lips but I got a bigger bar in but it took 30 mins for them to get this one in and when I got home I iced until I went to bed woke up this morning and my lip is swelling over the bar again, a bar is not a good healing if it wasn’t the right size the first time
