Nickel & Brass Tattoo Collective

I had such an AMAZING experience at Nickel and Brass Tattoo. My artist was Rachel, and she did a wonderful job guiding me through the whole experience. This was my very first tattoo, and she made me feel so safe and welcomed. I sent Rachel an idea of what I wanted to get, and she mirrored the image. ai absolutely love it! She did a wonderful job, and I will for sure be back to see her.

I decided I wanted a tattoo of my dog Porter who died of cancer recently. Rachel was the artist who did my tattoo. I sent her many photos and she drew up some ideas based on the style I wanted. The day of she had many good drawings and edited them to my liking. The process was very smooth and easy. The tattoo turned out great! We talked while she did the tattoo which I appreciated as I was very nervous (only my second tattoo). Very friendly and caring people. Overall I had a great experience and the tattoo was great! They also had very clear aftercare directions! Thank you Rachel for giving me a piece of Porter than I can keep forever.

This tattoo has been one I wanted to get for years, but I was nervous that no one would do it justice. It’s my little sisters handwriting, so it’s super important to me. Brett did an amazing job and I couldn’t have asked for better. I was nervous for a rib tattoo, but he was very reassuring the whole time. He also let me know what he was doing which was helpful. The process was quick, easy, and professional. I’m so happy with how it turned out and it healed great!

I had my first tattoo done today by Brett. He is such a kind, welcoming, and fun guy to work with! I invited my mom to come with me, Brett made great conversation with both of us! He responds immediately to all my questions and is very honest! I was terrified of the needles but Brett made me feel very relaxed and safe the entire process! Had gotten two pieces done here previously. Piston by Nick, Hawaiian script from Brett. Both were very professional and clean and made my experience enjoyable. This is the only place I will be going from now on. I already have my next piece booked with Sunny!

My mom, friend, and I all went to get tattoos. First, the shop is really nice, clean, and well decorated. My mom and I got matching from Rachael, and my friend got a separate design from Sunny. The quality was great on each. I also really love how they have you sign your name on the pillars. A special touch. Will definitely be back!

Had tattoos done by both Brett and Nicolas. Both did great work and were very professional and prompt with responding to booking. Shop is very clean and professional as well. As someone who mainly books with a certain artist, I was very impressed by the work of both guys. I had three horror masks done by Nicolas which are very clean and the shading is phenomenal. I had small wording on the back of my neck by Brett which is very clean and the booking process was quick. I would recommend this shop and artists for sure!

I recently got a large, black and grey scale jellyfish done by Nic. I was there for almost 9 hours and it was 100% worth it. The artists and atmosphere are a 10/10. I will definitely be back.

I had a tattoo blowout from another artist at a different tattoo shop and Nicolas was so helpful and willing to help me cover it up. He did a beautiful job and covered up the entirety of the blowout. He was very professional and friendly!

I had my first appointment with Nic this week. His attention to detail was beyond impressive and he immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease. I cannot recommend him enough and will definitely be going back to him in the future.

Brett was a talented and very funny artist. I was extremely anxious for a rib tattoo, but he helped make it a fun, quick (and not as painful as expected) experience! Highly recommend. Great experience! Sunny is awesome! He really took the time to perfect what I wanted. He’s super patient, detail-oriented, and very friendly/personable. The tattoo turned out great and he suggested some touch-ups on my old one, which now looks better than when it was done originally. The entire staff was very nice and you can tell they work well together. The place is super comfortable too. Highly recommend!

Brett completed the sleeve on my arm and did a amazing job! I would recommend him to anyone! I am a perfectionist and he met my every expectation! I constantly get compliments on the first two. He is professional and prompt, thorough and detail orientated, and a nice guy as well!

I have gone to Nick for a dozen or more of my tattoos and hours and hours of work. The atmosphere that Nick and Brett create is welcoming. They work with your ideas and create art meant for you. I will continue to go to their shop for the level of art they provide and the comfort not always felt at larger shops with so much more going on. Its a more personable experience and with the quality of results combined with the artists full attention is the type of environment that every new tattoo shopper would want or will want after they get a few tattoos. Carry on gentlemen, Ill be back in the chair soon enough.

I came to Nickel & Brass for a small memorial tattoo, a lowercase “t” on my wrist, in memory of a pup I recently lost. I was recommended to get in touch with Rachel Henke at Nickel and Brass after being recommended to her by a coworker, whose tattoos I admired and asked for advice on a local artist who could make this memorial happen.After reaching out to Rachel she was so receptive and excited to work with me on scheduling a time, even if the tattoo was tiny. We actually both arrived at the studio a bit early and ended up getting a coffee together while talking about my tattoo, what I wanted, and the meaning behind it. She was so caring and compassionate the whole appointment and took the time to make sure the “t” was exactly how I wanted it. From providing multiple fonts and sizes to choose from, to placing the stencil perfectly and ultimately providing the best tattoo memorial ever. It didn’t matter that it was a tee or tiny tattoo, she showed the same attention to detail and professionalism that a larger, multi hour piece might get.20/10 experience I wish I could give her, her caring nature and obviously her talent more stars!

Nickel Brass Tattoo is hands down the most professional tattoo studio I’ve been to. They are patient, artistic, and personable. I recently moved to AZ, but I’ll be making special trips to WI for future tattoos at Nickel Brass.

This is where I come to get all my tattoos done now! Even though I live in Milwaukee, I make the drive back home! It’s been refreshing finding a shop and an artist to trust with your body and feel comfortable around! I met Brett a while back and he tattooed my sister and I, short notice and gave us one of our favorite tattoos. Nick did an amazing job with my atlas tattoo. He came to me with an original design and executed it perfectly. I got a tattoo from Sunny here a few months ago and I adore it! He’s really fun to talk to and the tattoo itself healed really well (I attached a photo of it about 3 months healed). I will definitely return!

Nic did an AMAZING job on designing and doing a tattoo that I had wanted in honor of my dad, who passed away a year ago this past August. I am SO, SO happy with how it turned out. Nic did an amazing job with detailing and coloring and was SOOOOO easy and great to work with. He was incredibly professional throughout the entire process... and just a great guy to laugh and talk with. He totally puts you at ease and is CRAZY talented! The shop is SUPER clean, tidy and is just a really welcoming place! I am already looking forward to my next tattoos and will most definitely go back to see Brett or Nic for all of my future tattoo work.

I went to Nickel and Brass for my first tattoo and absolutely loved it! I was pretty nervous but Brett was super nice and walked me through the whole process, which turned out to be pretty painless. Would definitely recommend!!

Been going to Brett since he was an apprentice before he opened this shop. I’ve had him do a few pieces for me of varying styles and he’s knocked it out of the park every time. The whole vibe of the place is very chill and both Nick and Brett are very genuine people. Happy to be a part of this growth and excited to see where they go!

Got several tattoos from Brett, he was so SO comforting and talked to me the entire time. We worked through the process of figuring out what I want, and I’m extremely indecisive and anxious, but he was patient and understanding throughout the entire planning phase. Cannot speak more highly of this shop/Brett! My tats are sick as heck and I set up another appointment before even leaving my first. Easy conversation during a long day and hes incredibly talented. Im blown away by the line work and artistic touches he worked into each of my tattoos. Also, NOT heavy-handed (compared to others Ive worked with) and I almost fell asleep while he was working. A+++
