Dreamwalker Tattoo & Body Piercing

Rob Smith has been my only tattoo artist for the past 13 yrs. Now he is putting tattoos on my daughters. I wouldnt want anybody else putting ink on my girls but him. Very talented, keeps all his equipment clean & sterilized. Rob has 20 yrs experience and has mastered his skills over the years. We booked our appointments a year in advance, definitely worth waiting for.

💖 TLDR: Welcoming awesome artists!!!!10/10 cleanliness, atmosphere, people, pricing💖 This place is awesome! Tyler completed my first tattoo ever, a Skitty Pokemon tattoo. He researched Pokémon lore to create my tattoo design and included requests that I had. He talked me through everything, asking for my feedback at every step. All my questions were answered and I never felt like I was being judged. He even moved the stencil and adjusted the design on the fly.💖 The shop was extremely clean, the area where I was tattooed was sterile and was kept that way the ENTIRE TIME. Cleaner than some doctors offices- lol.💖 Extremely reasonable pricing! It was a collaborative process to come to something that I’d love and that was in my budget! I never felt as if I was being taken advantage of, because of my lack of experience.💖 The people are super chill and friendly! Every person I encountered was welcoming and genuinely interested in what my tattoo was. Some shops I’ve been to, I feel like I was given the “why are you here..🙄” vibe— NOT HERE! I feel like a welcome guest and a valued customer. I accidentally popped my tattoo covering and they patched and gave me an extra one!💖 I recommend them highly, I certainly will be returning in the future for more work!

A friend recommended the studio and I knew I would be in good hands the moment I stepped into the shop. Everyone was extremely cool and professional and the environment was clean, comfortable, and inviting.My consultation with Zach went so great- I was pretty unsure of what I wanted and he was very honest, patient, open, and quick to suggest some great ideas for my first major tattoo.I wrapped up a line session with Zach today and I am just thrilled with how it went. He is super accommodating and kind and always checked in with me. The work he did looks even better than I could have imagined it would be.I am so excited to return and have Zach finish with the color work. Such a great experience.

Couldnt be happier with our experience with this shop. We called around yesterday to ask about possible walk-in availability for my mom, 2 sisters, and I to get small matching tattoos. They told us exactly when to show up and what to expect, worked all 4 of us in between appointments, helped with design ideas/tweaks, and made 3 newbies and 1 experienced tattoo-getter super comfortable and welcome. Went in with my wife to get tattoos for our anniversary. Summer had availability so we sent over some reference images. This was hands down the best experience I’ve ever had, both with the shop itself and the artist. Thanks for the awesome artwork Summer!

Best tattoo & piercing shop in Lynchburg! I’ve gotten tattoos and jewelry changes from Dreamwalker and had excellent experiences every time. I had two piercings from a different shop that weren’t healing well and Vanessa changed the jewelry and gave me better aftercare instructions to help the healing process! Definitely my new go to piercing place!! Highly recommend :)

My daughter and I wanted matching/not matching tattoos. We had booked a session with a tattoo artist in Lynchburg and were really unable to get that artist to understand what we wanted. Let’s just say it didn’t work out. Rob took the photos of examples we gave him. Honestly listened to what we wanted. Drew up what we wanted with us right there with him. Imagine that! And nailed it! Since we were both being tattooed Tyler was gracious enough to provide his off time to come in and do one of us so we weren’t going one at a time. Both Rob and Tyler spoke to each other throughout doing the tattoos. Checked placement to make sure they matched. Used same size needles, spoke to each other about the colors and the shading process they were both doing. You honestly can not tell they were done by different artists. I work in the hospital setting. These guys were cleaner and more professional then doctors I’ve worked with hands down. I would recommend to anyone wanting a tattoo to see either of these guys. There work, professionalism is flawless! My daughter wants several other tattoos and I’m extremely funny about my kids. She will only being seeing one of these guys for the rest of her work. They both have busy schedules so you may have to wait a bit to get in with them. But I promise you wait! Don’t make the mistake of going with a artist that can take you the fastest. I cannot say enough good things about dreamwalker and Zach. Because of this experience I have not only booked another whole day session to finish my other half sleeve but also booked a session for my wife (mom of 4) to go in by herself. Which my wife has never felt safe going alone to any of the other shops because they have all been creeps to her. I also have been able to start dreaming about doing a whole back tattoo with Zach and I look forward to finally having an artist and shop we can trust. I will never go anywhere else. I just got my first session done with Cole and I could not be happier. I can’t wait to finish this tattoo up in a few weeks. Cole was super nice and made me feel very comfortable. The lady up front was super nice also.

2024 update: still my favorite tattoo shop ever. Cole has tattooed me 10+ times all but once at Dreamwalker. Cole is so easy to work with. He does really good work too. Ever since my first visit, Dreamwalker has been, and will remain, the only place Ill go to have work done. The artists are incredible, the staff are friendly, inviting, and fun to talk to, and I never leave the shop without booking my next session. Highly recommend Dreamwalker Tattoo. I received my first tattoo there recently and it was a great experience. The environment was very professional, yet we all had a good time interacting with one another, and the artists work is top notch.

Got my first every piercing by Ariel Mason and her apprentice Lauren, absolutely lovely! They were very easy to contact and talk to, I felt like I knew exactly what was happening the whole time. On top of having other works posted so you can see what they’ve done, they accurately, politely, and professionally answered all my questions and made sure I felt comfortable through the whole process. Their prices seemed fair(Even a little cheaper depending on what piercing you get). The other staff at the location were polite and respectful. I left knowing exactly what to do, how to clean it, and when to come back if something happens. I will absolutely go there again if I get another piercing or tattoo, I am so happy with the results!

The owner Rob Smith is one of the best in the business. Very professional, down to earth, and coolest guys you will ever meet. Hes been my artis for going on 7 years and he does an amazing job at a great price.

Im 45 and Ive never had a tattoo or any piercings. From the time I stepped into Dreamwalker until I exited the door, Vanessa made me feel at ease. I love my nose piercing, and when I finally work up the courage to get a tattoo, I will definitely get it done at Dreamwalker.

Summer was phenomenal! I got a 3/4 sleeve and we powered through it in under 5 hours! So polite and easy to work with. I am so happy with the service I received. The staff were very encouraging and whenever Summer needed a second opinion everyone was more than willing to listen and give their opinion! I will be back in the future! Read a review here that didn’t make any sense to me. I had some work done here by Zach and the entire experience was nothing but respectful. Every part of this tattoo experience from booking to execution was professional.Zach took great care to really capture my design aesthetics, I brought him some references and he took the time to sketch me something beautiful. We checked in a few times on design, color palette, positioning, etc. I never once felt like Zach didn’t have my best interest in mind. I never once felt pressured to change design elements or sacrifice my vision or expectation for my tattoo. Ultimately, we both were extremely happy with how the piece turned out, he even shouted it out on his instagram which made me feel cool, like my choices and his work were social media worthy.Overall wonderful experience, super professional team from the owners to the artists, there were no flaky bookings or rebooking, the place was clean and organized, and it looked like a studio where artists take themselves seriously. The team there is fun and engaging, they included me in their conversations which provided an all around super positive tattoo experience. I have recommended them to all my friends in Lynchburg that ask me about my tattoos, and continue to do so now that I’ve moved from the area.

The guys and girls in here are awesome! I got tattooed by Rob and he was great. He was detailed in explaining the healing process and how to take care of the tat.

I almost never leave reviews but I thought this place deserves it! My friend and I got piercings done today by Ariel, she did absolutely phenomenal. She is super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, and she talked both of us through the process as she was giving us the piercings which definitely calmed my nerves 😅. I went in to get a tattoo I wanted for a few years now, spoke with Cole about what I wanted and the placement. He told I needed to know and drew me up something that was fantastic. I went to Rob for the first time today after finding him on instagram and having multiple people recommend him to me. When you walk in to the shop youll immediately sense a feeling of comfort and cleanliness. Rob is a super down to earth guy and the most talented artist Ive ever seen. He was amazing about communicating during the whole process, his sketch was absolutely beautiful, and the aftercare process is a breeze thanks to how he wraps you. Ill never go anywhere else in Lynchburg for a tattoo, this is the place to be.

I walked into the shop with a couple photos of stuff I liked and Rob sketched out a killer tattoo. This turned out to be a great piece and I love the level of detail. Awesome black & grey work. I got my industrial, septum and eye brows pierced by Vanessa and she did an incredible job I am very happy! Vanessa and Ariel are the absolute sweetest people and I felt very comfortable around them and they just were awesome.

I dont know how I got so lucky to find the Smiths shop. I am not from Lynchburg and was only in town for the weekend but really wanted a specific tattoo. Their art spoke to me online, so I called and then showed up as soon as I got into town.The shop is clean as can be, and everyone was incredibly professional, respectful, and polite, and they are genuine artists. The level of skill and technique that Rob imparted on his fellow artist who observed while he was doing my tattoo was impressive to say the least.My tattoo is incredible. Couldnt be happier. For my first tattoo I can tell you I was extremely nervous. Rob was not only professional but he was really amazing at making me feel comfortable with the whole process. If you are interested in high quality art in a professional environment Dreamwalker is for you. Rob continues to have a customer focused attitude and his art style speaks for itself on Instagram, etc. Even though the ship is growing it is clear that the newer artists are similar to Rob in professionalism, courtesy, and cleanliness.I find it interesting that that Robs method is essentially painless. His aftercare method is modern and makes healing simple without asking customers to buy aftercare products.Ive been in the chair at Dreamwalker for approx. (24) hours total and look forward to my next set of appointments.

Got my first tattoo here ! Being a signature , i wanted it to be exact . Zach worked carefully to be sure it was lined up correctly and placed well , i was very impressed with his attention to detail and how patient he was with me. 100% will be coming back for my next tattoo ❤️!!

Went in for a two inch tattoo on my hand. Was charged $100. Truly not worth the money. Asked about having a semi colon done and was told that would also be $100, Their shop minimum.For a total of less than five minutes of work. EVERYONE I’ve showed including multiple tattoo artist said they where in the wrong for charging me so much, so if your looking to get a small tattoo this isn’t the place to go, there are several tattoo shops in Lynchburg that do amazing work with smaller tattoos for a fraction of the price.
