Had a great experience at the piercing lounge! Went in for a lobe piercing. Erin was my piercer. She was super knowledgeable and personable, and she made sure I was comfortable throughout my appointment. The shop itself was very clean, and the decor was amazing (especially loved the Pee Wee Herman doll on the wall). Highly recommend Erin and the piercing lounge!

Samm is my go-to piercer. Always makes sure the placement is correct and I am satisfied with it. Quick and efficient process, each piercing has healed well. Would recommend the shop in general and Samm!

Blue Lotus is amazing! I went to a different shop to originally get my nose done, but when the post was too short and top too tiny, I went into Blue Lotus. They were wonderful at taking me in as a walk in, and Samm was so sweet and very knowledgeable. Will likely try to go back to her for a future ear piercing!

I got a leg tattoo by Jazz in late January of this year (2024) and had a wonderful experience! They were kind, helpful, and very professional. They made me feel very comfortable for my first ever tattoo and I definitely plan to go back when I am able.They gave me all the information I needed to know about aftercare and the healing process which made it super easy and I had no issues with healing whatsoever.The first picture attached is the tattoo the day of and the second is from three months later.

Today was my fourth session with Sage Ivy and I fully intend to keep working with her for future tattoos. Shes been wonderful and easy to design with, Helps with sizing and placement questions Ive had, and all of my tattoos have come out exactly as expected! I get nothing but compliments and Im so in love with how my Ghibli sleeve has been progressing. Her workstation is always clean and ready to go for our appointments, shes typically done within the estimated time for each session and her pricing has been very fair for each session. Thank you so much Sage and Blue Lotus for helping me connect with her! 5 completed tattoos, 2 outlines with another session scheduled, and many more in the future I hope!Photos reflect my healed tattoos as well as todays outline session results (5 hours post tattoo). Zoie was absolutely incredible! I just got my septum pierced a few moments ago by her and she was so kind and very professional. Everything was sterile and she explained everything that she was doing and was going to do. I was running late and she was very kind about it and was still able to see me. She was also transparent about the fact that the piercing ended up leaning slightly further back on one side, and offered to repierce it any time if I dont like it and give me some tips to correct it while it heals. Im very happy with the piercing and experience! Im thankful to have been able to be pierced by her! I would 100% see her again if Im in Madison.

Went here for a consult on a messed up tongue piercing (from a different studio)…erin helped me and they were so helpful! they explained why my piercing was getting the excess scar tissue and was more than happy to fix it for me and make a game plan for the future. I sat with Jared on 10/7/22 for a larger shoulder piece. Black outline, greyscale and color ink. Our consultation was easy, quick and he was excited about the ideas I brought for the tattoo. Final design was perfect and I the process itself was smooth. The tattoo didn’t take too long and Jared and the apprentices were great the whole time!

I went to get my piercings done and had the piercer Zoie. She is an absolute GEM! She is incredibly sweet and has a lot of piercings herself, so it made me confident that she knew what she was doing and talking about. I had previous piercings before at other places, but none were handled so delicately with such a calming and reassuring presence. 10/10! 100% plan on getting more piercings done by her.

One of the employees there was so rude. I simply had a question about a piercing and she treated me like I was incompetent. She treated me like I did not know what I was saying or doing even though I have had a piercing before!! She was rude for no reason. Like you’re not the only one who has tattoos and piercings… I know what I’m doing but okay I guess.

I have come here many times for tattoos and piercings alike and have always had an amazing experience! Today I took my roommate for a quick piercing consult with John because his earring (from a different store) had been pushed into his earlobe which caused it to bleed and be super swollen. John was very helpful and kind throughout the process and solved his issue within 10 minutes! I highly recommend this place for any piercing or tattoo needs! The staff is super knowledgeable and kind, you won’t be disappointed!

Ive had nothing but good experiences with getting piercings at this studio. Specifically, Ive had appointments with the piercer Zoie a couple times and they have been helpful and kind, as well as making me feel comfortable throughout. Highly recommend!

John was an excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable piercer. Didn’t have the gold/copper jewelry color I wanted in stock so he treated the jewelry with a different process instead that was awesome, and exactly what I wanted. Super clean and quiet shop that is LGBT friendly in downtown Madison with a wide variety of services at affordable prices. Will definitely be back!

The head piercer is insanely talented too and all 4 of my piercings done by him healed perfectly!

Ive had several appointments with piercer John Kid, and he has been unfailingly professional and kind. His years of experience make him confident and quick, and hes always fun to talk to. Its a nice plus that Blue Lotus offers free removal and reinsertion of jewelry for medical reasons such as surgery or MRIs.

Everything was clean and well explained. Hannah was wonderful! I got my first tattoo 18 years ago here, and my 2nd tattoo now. Highly recommend.

I took my 8 year old daughter to the southside location to get her ears pierced. Myke was amazing she didnt even know she was done. They look great absolutely no issues, great customer service!

I came in for a little piercing emergency after failing to properly get a new hoop in my nostril. Zoie took me on very short notice and helped me to get a proper fitting hoop. They were very friendly and pleasant to talk to, and didnt make fun of me at all for my mishap. They asked me about future piercing plans, and I will be back to Zoie for them!

Blue Lotus and the all the staff are great!! I went in for a septum stretch, tattoo touch up and adding to a tattoo.First the piercer didnt think I should stretch my nose and I absolutely respect his experience and together we made a plan for stretching safely. Other shops, I dont know, maybe they just want the money and would do something that could cause damage. Thanks Jon for being straight up with me.Then a tattoo artist named Jazz helped me out by add some letters to a tattoo she didnt do but touched it up for free anyways because the orginal artist was an apprentice and no longer works at BL. The tattoo looks 100% better now thanks to Jazz. The letters she added are perfect.Blue Lotus is a well run, well staffed, safe and affordable place for tattoos and piercings. I highly recommend!

Last night I decided to get my nose pierced here. I got it dont by Samm and they were very nice! I was a little nervous because of needles but they were really gentle and told me how it was going to be done, everything was very sterile (which is what I was nervous about in the first place) but it surprised me. Im definitely coming back here for my first tattoo and for the second side of my nose when the first heals! Thank you so much to the team here, theyre were very welcoming and detailed on how the process is! 10/10 recommend here if youre a little nervous about it!

Everyone was super nice and all my piercers did a wonderful job! I wasnt sure I had the anatomy for a septum but they made it work and everything turned out beautifully with no complications!

I called Blue Lotus to schedule an appointment to replace my metal philtrum piercing to a glass retainer for an upcoming MRI. The front desk staff were very friendly and professional. I was booked with Samm, and they were amazing both times I was there. Samm was kind, attentive, professional, and made the process so smooth. We discussed options for future jewelry, the different types of jewelry for my philtrum, and they made sure I was comfortable and heard every step of the way. Jared did an outstanding job on my tattoo. His design was exactly what I wanted. The actual tattoo went smoothly. He was very personable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Jared and Blue Lotus. This is my third tattoo with them.

„Response to the business“: Instead of blasting our critical review below with inappropriate statements and false accusations, you should rather work with a customer and try to find a solution which would work for everyone.We had a very poor experience with this business. My daughter wanted to get a small 3 word tattoo and she went to Blue Lotus Tattoo. She had to sign a contract for a 100$ deposit. She was told that the deposit was nonrefundable and it was for the design work of the artist. At her appointment the artist had printed a piece of paper with different fonts for the small tattoo. Unfortunately none of the printed designs looked acceptable, one even looked offensive in English language. She decided to hold off and the artist told her she should come up with her own design. After that experience she was full of doubt to even get a tattoo there, because they couldn’t even find an acceptable design for a 3 word tattoo. She therefore canceled her next appointment and then was told that she lost her deposit. Ultimately we asked for the deposit back, because nothing really had been done for her little tattoo. She was told again that she was not getting a refund. The lounge kept 100$ for no service at all and told her if she wanted to reconsider she would have to pay a new deposit. This was such a poor customer experience and even rude to keep 100$ without any service provided at all. I can understand to keep a retainer if significant effort of the artist went into the design of a sophisticated tattoo, but here he didn’t do anything for a little 3 word tattoo. No other business would treat their customers like this. Most businesses would strive to provide best customer service experience or refund a customer if they are not satisfied . The Blue Lotus Tattoo kept our 100$ for no service provided. We will report this to the Better Business Bureau.

Jazz was awesome! They were super nice and accommodating of my same day tattoo request, as I am leaving town and wanted to have a special experience with a friend before I left. Im very happy with the tattoo quality and will be returning for my future tattoo needs! Would recommend to anyone.

Got a piercing by Zoie. Loved everything. Policies and instructions were clear. Everything was clean. Zoie made me feel relaxed and cared for. Piercing healed well but then I put a tiny earring in too soon and accidentally got it pushed into the piercing. It was painful and bloody- I called Blue Lotus to see if I could see someone and get advice for what to do. Was able to get in that day and again had the pleasure of having Zoie sort me out, totally resolve the issue and be on my merry way. Will undoubtedly continue to come here for all of my piercing needs

I have been going to John for piercings for years. He is the most experienced piercer I have ever seen. He recently did my vertical industrial which is very difficult to perform. I always know my piercing will be perfect when I go to John I highly recommend him.

I’ve had multiple piercings done by John Kid over the past 8 years and every time I’ve walked out satisfied with the quality of work I received. The first time he seemed a little stand-off-ish (maybe it was an off day), but he’s very experienced, incredibly knowledgeable, and happy to answer any questions or address concerns as you go through the piercing and healing process. The jewelry quality is top notch; they carry beautiful and unique pieces but also have plenty of plain jewelry, all in high quality brands you’d expect for a shop like this. Even if all I want is a new piece of jewelry, I am happy to drive almost an hour out of my way to go here. Everyone I’ve encountered is friendly. With piercings, it’s very true that you get what you pay for, and The Piercing Lounge is worth every penny.

I had the pleasure to work with Grace for my piercings. I havent had any piercings since I was a kid, so I was fairly nervous (needle phobia). She was very patient and sweet. Grace is very knowledgeable, and had very creative ideas on how we could go about different style placements, for my piercings. I would 100% recommend Grace, and I cant wait to work with her in the future! THANK YOU!

We recently posted a negative review, because we were not satisfied how this business handled a little 3 word tattoo design. In return we received a multi page long, blasting, disrespectful and inappropriate response including false accusations from this business This truely shows how this business is working with their customers and to find a compromise to resolve the issue. I am sure we are not the first ones. We are now donating our 80$ deposit to this business for no service provided and we will let them continue to engage into lengthy online customer review battles. This behavior will not help them in the long run and we therefore reported them to the Better Business Bureau.

Saw Nikita for a helix piercing in the ear. She was amazing! I was a bit nervous but she was warm, inviting, and calming. For the piercing she moved quickly, deftly, and confidently. Her experience certainly shows, and made the piercing smooth and painless! I was very impressed with the facilities as well. The procedure room is as nice and prepared as many medical facilities--in fact, even better than some. As a medical student, I was extremely impressed with all aspects of the procedure, including sanitation, sterilization, pre- and post-procedure care, after care instructions, patient care, and ability to reach her directly in case of complications weeks to months later. She moves quickly throughout the appointment but not rushed, and was on time. Tip her well! Definitely will return to her for future services.As some other people have said, the reception staff isnt the best but dont let that scare you off.

Got my girlie girl pierced. Id love to share pics but i doing think its allowed. 🤭 John was very skilled piercer. He asked great questions. He ultimately did my horizontal hood piercing perfectly. I drive all the way from waukesha to madison to see john! Thank you John. I love my piercing.

I got a very simple and easy design done, but I had a great experience here! My mom and I showed up to get tattoos last-minute, and within an hour we were both out with beautiful tattoos. Our artist was Braden and he was very informative and conversational the whole time. The tattoos were fairly painless, very quick, and seem to be healing nicely!

I got my tattoo done with the apprentice, Nika. I could not even tell she was an apprentice and had the best service. I was comfortable the entire time and very happy with the results. Also had a piercing there awhile ago with Grace and the service and result was amazing as well! Highly recommend!

Just got my helix pierced and the staff where very friendly. VERY clean and professional place. They take every precaution and tell you how to take care of your new piercings afterwards!Update: had an issue with my piercing where it went into my skin. Came in and they fixed my issue no problem. They gave me more ways on how to take care of my piercing. Seriously the best staff!!

I got a cartilage piercing today and I was super nervous, but Grace helped me through it by answering all my questions and making me feel really comfortable. I definitely recommend going here! The staff is really nice and give a really comforting environment and really hype you up!

I am so thankful I was referred to Blue Lotus to get my nose pierced. I have not had a piercing since 3rd grade - a solid three decades - and any nerves I had were quickly gone. From the phone booking to being greeted in the shop to JB who did the piercing, it was a relaxed and fun experience. Also the information for aftercare was brilliant and super helpful. Next time I need/want a piercing or another tattoo I know where I am going.

John Kid was my piercer for my septum and the appointment took about 30 minutes, but, the actual time to pierce -needle to nose- was two minutes tops. I had quite the diviated septum and he and Grace would place the markers and step back and gauge how centered it was or if it was leveled enough. They truly took the time to ensure they were making my piece perfect for me. I couldnt love my piercing more. Thank you all so much! The shop was filled with beautiful pieces of jewelry and pictures, and very clean!

I drove an hour to visit this shop for the first time and got my nipples pierced by John! John and Zoey (sorry if I misspelled) were amazing. I get highly uncomfortable even at doctor visits if I need to take off any clothing, but both John and Zoey made me feel so comfortable and okay during the entire process. This was by far my most pleasant piercing experience at ANY shop. Not just the two people I mentioned, but everyone at this shop was super nice and welcoming. I will be coming here again in the future for any and all piercing needs. Thank you guys for helping me feel as comfortable as possible and being so awesome.

I saw Nikita for a septum piercing. They quoted me around 58 for the piercing which i thought was fair! I actually had my septum pierced a year ago and the hole hadn’t closed yet, so she used a special tool to widen the hole a little bit and just slipped the piercing in! Because she didn’t have to repierce me, they refunded the money and I only had to pay $12! That was a really nice surprise and super fair of them. This was the BEST shop I’ve ever been to. Nikita is really sweet and extremely knowledgeable about body piercing. It was close to closing time so we spent a little time chit chatting- she was telling me about all the classes she takes for continuing education which I think is super important! I’ve been to a ton of different shops for piercings and tats and NONE of them were as sanitary, knowledgeable, or talented as this place. Also, I hardly ever leave reviews, only when I’m super impressed!!! Go here!! :-)

Got my septum done today by Grace- they did an incredible job- very friendly and quick, also looks better than I imagined- I wish I could’ve tipped more but I’m pretty broke atm lol. The jewelry is great quality and they sell you the saline solution at the front counter. Lovely experience, very professional and chill vibes. The only thing I wish is that the aftercare sheet were more in depth- I was told to clean my piercing with a cotton pad but the aftercare sheet says to not use cotton. No biggie though, otherwise a great experience!P.S. the piercing aftercare sheet has a typo on the mouth piercing saying ‘Smoke or drink anything other than water’ rather than ‘DONT smoke or drink..’

Update: I am still giving Thom 1 star for failing to do his job. Blue Lotus, Ill give them 4 stars. Family and friends have had work done there and we are happy with the work that was done. Also, management was nice enough to reimburse the down payment I had given Thom for the work he was supposed to do.Original Review: Seeing how Thom has not done his job and has failed to provide a sketch of the tattoo after a month. He will not be tattooing me. I saw him on Sept 10th, he said he would have the drawing in two weeks. He did nothing. Then he said he would email me the drawing in a week. He did nothing. Its now been just shy of a month. If I cant trust Thom to put a pencil to paper, I definitely cant trust him to put ink in my skin. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Although the shop itself is nice, Thom my tattoo artist was incredibly unprofessional. He failed to send me the tattoo design after multiple requests. I accommodated him when he needed to reschedule, but upon asking the same of him, he refused to finish the tattoo he started. Thom left me with a large unfinished tattoo, I have never had a worse experience with an artist.

Grace was amazing! They did an amazing job and they were so quick! They were extremely comforting and made my day so much happier! Highly recommend this tattoo and piercing shop! Called again to set up more appointments!!

Drove from an hour away after filling out all forms for my daughters 10th birthday. walked in the door and she is jumping up and down so happy to finally get her ears pierced. Her brothers were with us. they said the brothers cannot come in and I have to be present with her so we had no choice but to leave. I know have a bawling 10 year old with a ruined birthday thanks a lot.Re: your reply- no I was not aware of that or I wouldnt have drove an hour. Another piercing shop in town did it with her brothers present with no problem so ill have to disagree on that.

I got my ears pierced by Grace (two lobe and a helix) and the experience was nothing but amazing! I was nervous at first but once I got to meet grace it went away, Grace is very kind and talk you through the whole process. She made sure that the piercing placements where where I wanted them to be, I have already started recommending friends to get pierced by her. I can’t wait to go back and get my other ear pierced(I’m a side sleeper). Thank you Grace!

I came in today to get a piercing done on my inner helix. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. No problems and the piercing itself was quick and relatively painless. I have gotten piercings here before and it has always been a good experience. Kind of expensive but you get good service and nice jewelry here. Would go here again for more piercings.

Everything expected was explained to me very throughly, the piercing room was in great condition/extremely clean and the piercing was quick and painless. I got my septum pierced here by JB and it was a great experience! It was my first piercing, so I was super nervous, but he takes me through it and it was over so quickly. I havent had any problems with the aftercare, and I LOVE my piercing. Highly recommend!

I had the tragus and anti-tragus pierced on both ears by John, who was nothing but professional! He was able to answer all of my questions/concerns. When one of my piercings swelled to the point that a longer post was needed by getting me in the same day I contacted him and I was in/out in less than 10 minutes good as new! He went above and beyond and made sure that I was taken care of when I had to travel out of state shortly after getting pierced. It put me at ease and I was able to have a worry-free trip. I would recommend John to anyone who is considering getting pierced!!

Very reputable, sanitary, and has friendly staff that love what they do and I really recommend it to people getting their first tattoo done. I have had 3/4 of my tattoos done here. They do great work, but I honestly advise first-timer people that want a tattoo to ask the artists to show them things they have drawn up but havent been able to tattoo onto someone yet. Dont forget they are artists and they like to put their passion into their work, not just doing the same matching tattoo from Pinterest that you and your sisters, mom, or friends, found.

I dont have enough positive things to say about Blue Lotus. I had my lip pierced not once, but twice by them. (The first time it was off center)You may ask why I went back the second time. Well mistakes happen, no ones perfect, and these guys handled it extremely professionally. I will definitely be coming back to let them stab me again. Thanks again!

JB did a nose piercing for me this week, and it’s been the most pleasant piercing and post-piercing experience I think I’ve ever had. I have had zero pain around the piercing in the last five days since getting it, the placement is perfect and JB was extremely nice and professional during my time at the lounge. Not only did he do a great job with the piercing, we also had great conversation and made me feel very comfortable with the fact he was pointing a needle through my nose and toward my eye. I’ll definitely be going to Blue Lotus for all my future piercings in Madison!

Got my first tattoo here with Derek, and from beginning to end they made it a thoroughly pleasant experience. Everyone there was friendly and helpful, and I couldnt be happier with how the tattoo turned out! Place is a joke. Purchased a pair of plugs here last year that I liked but lost one recently. Drove 30 minutes out of my way to stop here and get a replacement. Arrived during their open business hours and they said I couldn’t purchase the pair of plugs “because their piercer wasn’t there and they didn’t want to sell me the wrong size” .. I’ve had the same size plugs for 12 years, I know my size… then they even looked me up in the system and confirmed the size I purchased last time. Still wouldn’t sell them to me lol. Not sure why they have a storefront if they aren’t letting people purchase things. Not returning to this place again.

I just got my septum pierced and I’m obsessed with it Nikita was amazing, professional and personal! She did an amazing job even with the restrictions from COVID. She did great talking me through all the steps and how to care for it! I would definitely come back for future piercings.

My daughter wanted her nose pierced for her 16th birthday. The staff were friendly, helpful and provided her with great education on after care. I was super impressed from the minute I walked in. Very clean and inviting, which as an RN I dont take lightly. We will be back, they were amazing!

I just got my septum pierced about two days ago by Eric Schuh. It was such a great experience! I was a little leery about going to Blue Lotus after all the bad things that Ive heard from online reviewers and friends that have gone here, but none of them were true for me!Let me start off by saying that the jewelry was a little overpriced, but I gladly paid a little more to be able to get pierced with something that looks absolutely amazing right off the bat. I am very impressed with the many choices of jewelry that you can choose from. I ended up getting a horseshoe with an opal in between the two balls that looks so perfect.On the the actual procedure: Eric came out and checked out my nasal anatomy even before I got in the room to make sure that a septum piercing was even possible to do. I had no idea that I had a pretty bad deviated septum when I went in. I was told that it might be harder to pierce, but that he was 100% confident that he could make it work out. Eric has such great energy and was so nice! When I got in the room he told me everything that was going to go on, and even guaranteed for life that I would end up with a killer piercing, even if something were to happen to it on the first try. Needless to say, this put me at ease to know that Eric fully stood behind his work. When all was said and done, we were both super happy about how my new piercing looked; he even took pictures to document it.I highly recommend Eric Schuh to ANYONE wanting to get pierced! Loved my experience there, and love my new face-hole!

Getting a tattoo can be a nerve racking experience, especially when it is your first one. I felt like I was in good hands and Mr.Chuck hooked me up with some real quality work. You know its good tattoo work if you have already gone back for more, and I have two pieces by Chuck on my back now. The other artists seem like talented guys as well, Ive seen them work on other people and have been impressed. It isnt the cheapest parlor but it isnt unreasonable by any means either. Overall its well worth it, quality is the most important element in a permanent piece of body art, so just worry about finding the right fit for you and less about the price.

Got a dermal here went fine. Came back to get some jewelry and was told only a piercer can sell jewelry? Anybody can sell jewelry i already knew what I wanted and sat in the waiting room for over 45 min waiting to buy one piece of jewelry.

I wish I could give a zero star review. I had spider bites done on Thursday, and the posts used were not long enough to accommodate for the swelling. I called and explained that I needed them to switch out the posts for longer ones. The receptionist was rude and unapologetic. They refused to accommodate me in a timely fashion. The posts are digging into the inside of my lip quite severely, and theyre so short that I cannot get a good grip to change them out myself. I tried going in and asking for help, explaining how painful it is having these posts in that are too short. They said they didnt have time to help me. They couldnt take five minutes of their time to fix their mistake?

As of late, if your black or at least not light skinned toned dont go here! Many of their artist ( I use the term extremely loosely as a lot of the work Ive seen them claim as originals are stolen) arent comfortable working on darker skin and wont say so. Instead they will make racially insensitive remarks about how hard it is to work with your dark skin and try to force you to get a tattoo in a different ( usually more expensive spot)

It was a pain in the butt to purchase a new ring for a piercing that I had for years. I had to make an appointment to get examined and was still given a stem that was too long, I even said it was too long. I was told to try it anyhow and it looked terrible. I then had wait an hour to get the size I wanted from the beginning! It wasted about 1-2 hours, just to purchase a different ring; a process that has never taken more than 5min in the past!I also got a small tattoo there, and the line work was horrible! They offer a free touch-up within 3 months but Im too afraid he will botch it up worse. Im going to Milwaukee and paying full price to have the whole thing fixed. Also, the color is extremely inconsistent. This tattoo is only 1x1 and straight lines all one color. Consider that, if you plan on something technical, or that requires shading. I asked if he was an artist and he replied no, I should have gotten up and left. I recommend everyone to go to a tattoo artist, not a tattooer. Lastly the price for the tattoo was double what I have since been quoted.

Good place. My piercer was very professional, a bit standoffish, A hole kind of vibe. But good. The gold was very expensive for low grade 14K. This is an American thing. The gold in Egypt, India, and Dubai has better grade and quality 21K-22K for small nose stubs.

What an AWFUL place! Went in to have my daughter’s nose ring reinserted only to find out that their COVID policy is literally more restrictive than the US governments immigration requirements. Fully vaccinated and a negative COVID test in hand from THREE DAYS AGO and they would not see us despite my daughter being in pain because of their policies. And to top it off a sassy apprentice named Zoie had the call the made a rude comment while walking off, not even making eye contact or even attempting to understand our frustration. “Elective procedure,” she says as they blows past us. Ridiculous policy, rude staff, just, wow. DON’T support these jerks. Find a place that is at least respectful of paying clients.

Great job in and out John re streched my nostril to put a stud back in (lost them all during the covid lockdown so the whole shrunk a bit) and re-pierced my labret. I had let it close up 2 years ago because the back irritated my gum line.. but wished I hadnt and I will not get a piercing in Kenosha where Im from so while in town in Madison I had to stop.Let me just say i love the placement and John did an amazing job so that the back of the labret is angled slightly so it doesnt hit the gum line. I could eat real food same day. Go here and see John for your piercings!!!

I went to the Blue Lotus to get a VCH piercing and had John do the piercing. He was professional, excellent piercer and made me feel very comfortable with such a delicate and special piercing. Their cost compared to other shops was more expensive but the quality of service and product made it worth it! Totally reccomend!!!!

Well known amongst industry professionals in town for being an apprentice factory and the LAST place you might be able to get quality work done. The piercers are fine, the tattooists are utterly devoid of talent and skill; a source of mockery amongst folks in Madison who know what theyre doing.

I used to recommend this place to all my friends. They have the best rep in town for piercings. Recently all their good tattoo guys and piercers left and scattered. Some are just down the street, which is awesome. Im starting to hear some pretty sketchy stuff coming from this place. I really recommend staying far away.

I called to see if I could be seen tonight since it was the death anniversary for my Grandma. They had me come in for a consultation appointment at 7:30PM. I arrived and met with the artist who said it could be done tonight, but one person walked in before me. So the wait was about 30 to 60 minutes. I agreed to sit and wait. 90 minutes later, I am informed it would be another 20 minutes because it seems like the person who accompanied the one before was getting something done as well.What kind of service is that?! I am sitting and waiting, while this person decides to service the other guy before me? If the artist would have told me the had two people ahead of me, I would not have wasted my time. Not recommended. Terrible service. Very upsetting. Not a fan. Thanks for ruining my night because I was excited to get this done to remember my grandma.

I had to have some MRI imaging done so I needed to have a piercing switched out to a non-metal one. John knew exactly what I was talking about and everything went super smoothly. It didn’t hurt at all and he was kind and professional.

My tattoo appointment was maybe mid last year and though its late, I thought it would be better to say something because Ive been wanting to for a while. I went in sort of impulsively, it was a tattoo I wanted for a while and I just decided one day to get it after work. Everyone at Blue Lotus was friendly, the atmosphere was good, there was only one artist avalible at the time and though I would mention him I dont remember his name and cant find him on the website, and I decided it was fine and went to get the tattoo. I have really bad anxiety which is probably why I didnt do much about the situation at the time. I talked quite a bit with my artist, just being friendly, made some jokes back and forth which maybe made him assume I had the same kind of humor. As preperations were underway he started to poke fun at me having my shirt tucked in, which I normally do but the teasing seemed to go on and on until he told me I looked like an old woman and decided it was fine to grab my shirt to untuck it, I backed away feeling very uncomfortable but didnt want to make a big deal of it. He didnt stop making fun of me until I left it un-tucked. Then he decided to make fun of the tattoo design. Its symbolism is important to me so I didnt like that, never the less it went on for a while. Also, my tattoo is maybe 2 x 2 inches and he shaved my entire arm and gave me really bad razor burn all over. Jokes got more juvenile, lots of potty mouth stuff, fart jokes, body part jokes, so many red flags, I regret acting like everything was fine. Not only that but it felt like he wasnt trying very hard with my tattoo, more like he was just getting it out of the way. The line work is bad and there is scarring which is really disappointing. Bad enough that I dont want the free touch up and if I could have my money back I would. One of my friends after I told him about this said he had the same artist for some of his tattoos and had a very similar negative experience, pointing out his distasteful humor and sloppy lines. I guess my point is if youre getting a tattoo, get to know your artist and make sure they are proffesional and respectful before anything else. I do know many people who have had positive experiences at Blue Lotus, I just am not one of them..
