Black Cloud Tattoo and Piercing

I walked in and was serviced within 30 minutes when there was a line of people ahead of me for piercings. I had Amanda do a double eyebrow piercing for me and she did a wonderful job as well as made me feel very comfortable and entertained while I was there. The energy was great here! Nearly a week in and my eyebrow is healing nicely too.EDIT: Recently returned to this place and got a triple vertical helix which I had seen from one of the piercers named Erin. Erin did a fantastic job on my piercing and made me feel very comfortable and I was well informed by the staff that my choice to do spikes could lead to healing complications from my hair. The staff here are all super knowledgeable and kind and Ill definitely be returning!

Amanda was great! I had my cartilage pierced years ago and the aftercare was excruciating when I went to sleep. No one told me the best way to sleep at home. Amanda was patient with my questions and gave me tips that were more than helpful. I will be back to finish the remaining piercings!

My 6 year old was nervous to get her ears pierced, the entire crew at the Matthews location was very patient and friendly with her. They explained the steps very thoroughly for the piercing and care and the piercings went very smoothly and quick. 5 star for sure. 100 bucks after tip.

Joan (pronounced John) is AMAZING! I lost my little guy and wanted a Memorial tattoo. I was just praying that it would look close to him, but I was floored by the result. Its only been 2 days, but all my family and friends were blown away as well. He spent an hour just to get the ears perfect! He predicted 3-4 hours from the beginning and finished up right at the 4 hour mark.Joan, I cant thank you enough for your gift of artistry that I will be proud of for the rest of my life!

Called ahead and asked for a standard push fit labret and was told they have it. Drove all the way out there and they only have screw on labrets and the receptionist tried to sell me jewelry that would not fit my mouth (IT WASNT EVEN THE RIGHT PIERCING). Will not be coming back. Do not recommend. Im sure their tattoos are great but the piercing/jewelry experience was mediocre at best. Comparable to Claires.

Brought my 7 year old daughter in to have her ears pierced. I cannot remember her name, but she was absolutely amazing in taking care of my daughter. She made my daughter feel completely comfortable and made every accommodation to make sure of this. I highly recommend using their services for whatever it might be that you are looking for; whether a tattoo or piercing.

Christian was incredibly professional, came to get a piercing and he marked the spot, made sure l was happy with the placement, and answered all my questions with patience. The piercing itself was quick and relatively painless. Would definitely recommend.

Went to get my nostril pierced and was greeted by Amanda which also did my piercing. She was courteous, thorough, answered all my questions and explained everything well! There was no wait time which was nice. I went in the middle of the day during the week. I was a bit nervous but her energy and personality calmed me. Area was clean and she did an amazing job! I will be going back to see her soon!

I tried to make an appointment with a guy here and after he responded to the picture which took 3 days, it was a matching butterfly tattoo with my mom, he ghosted me. They also pierced me and made the back too tight on purpose and didn’t tell me to loosen it after a day like they were supposed to, and then laughed at me later when I told them what happened.

I got my navel pierced a few days ago all of the staff were all welcoming and nice. My piercer Amanda was amazing and answered all of my questions and concerns, her personality was amazing as well. I will be be returning for piercings in the future!

Amanda was absolutely great!! She was honest with me about how my ear may not take exactly what I wanted but we can try it. She answered all my questions and made me feel at ease during the piercing process!! So far I have gotten 2 forward helix piercings and I am so happy with them! Hopefully I’ll get my third soon!

Daughter got a nose piercing. Very fast service right when we walked in the door. Waiver process was digital and simple as was jewelry selection. Piercer was gentle, clean, and fast. Pricing was great.

Unfortunately my experience here was not a good one. I’ve been in this shop twice thinking that maybe the first time was just a one time experience. Both times I’ve stood in the lobby area waiting for someone to at least acknowledge my presence but they just walked by multiple times and said absolutely nothing. Not even a “Someone will be with you shortly”. The atmosphere of this place is very cold and unwelcoming and although I live less than 10 minutes from them, I’d rather take the drive to Pineville where the customer service is always great!

Just went and got my helix pierced yesterday by Amanda at the Matthews location. I cannot say enough good about my experience!! Price was more than fair, they had implant grade jewelry, and since my first attempt at a helix piercing went poorly (pierced elsewhere) I had LOTS of questions and concerns which were answered with patience and detail. Hoping to return for more piercings in the future :)

David was very friendly and professional, and provided great advice while we were discussing the design. I’m a third-time customer and will be back again for my next.

We walked in on a Saturday afternoon for a piercing and were able to be seen as soon as Amanda finished with another client. Amanda was helpful and provided excellent service. I would highly recommend her to anyone. We were very pleased.

I was a walk in for a double helix piercing. They came out within a minute to give me a 15 minute wait time and instructions to get myself signed in with a waiver while I waited. Courteous, explained everything and made sure I had all questions answered before starting. Made dots on my ears to make sure we liked the same location. Gave me an Instagram page with lots of advice for aftercare. I’d go back :)

Today we walked in for piercings for my minor. We were greeted by Kaylan and she was friendly from start to finish! She helped my daughter pick out her earrings, she did a great job explaining every step so my daughter wasn’t nervous, and she was so sweet to her and made her feel so good about herself! I highly recommend seeing Kaylan for your young girls! She made it so seamless and was very patient and knowledgeable.

Unfortunately, my experience at Black Cloud Tattoo fell short of expectations. Upon arrival, I waited without acknowledgment for an extended period, which was disappointing. When finally attended to, the artist appeared preoccupied and disengaged, even though not actively working on a tattoo. Despite attempting to arrange a walk-in appointment, I settled for a scheduled slot, only to return and find that the artist had no recollection of our design discussion. This lack of professionalism was disheartening, prompting me to seek services elsewhere. The atmosphere of the shop and the decor was undesirable. Definitely seemed like on of those shops that dont put a lot of effort into. Upon further investigation, I found the quality of their tattoo work to be below average at best. Despite positive reviews, my firsthand encounter and additional research suggest caution in considering Black Cloud Tattoo for your tattooing needs.

My friend and i came for a walk-in, last sunday afternoon and it wasn’t a long wait at all. our piercer was kaylan, and i couldn’t recommend her enough!! she was so professional, she explained things before she did them and she double checked to make sure we liked the placement of each piece!! and she was super friendly!! I’ve only had my new piercings in for a week, but they look amazing and are feeling great :) definitely coming back to black cloud in the future!!

Wonderful at answering my teens questions and acknowledging them on the reserch they did. Very careful, and gentile. My kiddo has sensory issues and kiddo was completely calm due to the young lady’s wonderful and practical nature. It was a great experience and I’m hoping to add an additional piercing to my collection!

Joan is an absolute master of his craft, i have brought my idea to many artists in the past and none of them showed half of the enthusiasm that Joan did towards taking on the project. The pride this man takes in his work is unmatched by anyone else ive met in this industry. It makes me proud of have this piece as a part of myself now.Despite a bit of a language barrier Joan absolutely nailed the creation and execution of this artwork and I cannot recommend him enough. The price you pay for the amount of quality you recieve from his work is an absolute bargain. Its safe to say that Joan will have my business for life.The other artists were very hospitable and the whole environment in the shop is exactly what you should look for in a tattoo studio.

My daughter had her belly button pierced and the sweet guy who did it was awesome! The place was clean and bathroom was clean and it was just a great experience! Highly recommend them!!!!

I couldnt be happier with the whole process. Josue and I worked together for almost 6 weeks prior to starting this piece. He is punctual, and holds true to his word. Super easy to work with!I highly recommend Josue, especially for meaningful art. His creativity is matched by his personality, etiquette and professionalism.Here are some highlights of my session. The piece isnt finished, but he spent 10 hrs with 5 minute breaks every hour last night. If you can sit, he can work.I would like to add, my time is valuable and he wasted none of it at anytime. This was a really big deal to me.

Finally got my simi colon tattoo here. Was my first tattoo and my artist was extremely confident and reassuring about it. Another worker noticed my anxiety and was talking to me the entire time, I quickly forgot to be anxious.

A few days ago my son went to tattoo with an artist named Katherin, the artist charged a very high price for something so simple, my son asked her if there was a specific artist and she said no, when they went to get a tattoo the artist was unoccupied, it seems that she grabs the clients without respecting the client with whom she wants to tattoo, when my son showed us the tattoo it was honestly horrible, we are not going to make any claim since previously we have gone to get tattooed there with other artists and everything has gone well, but if the artist who tattooed my son is still there we will not return

So I got my first tattoo here today and it was a very chill vibe, made my nerves go down quit a bit. I got a simple tattoo and my tattoo artist, Sebastian was wonderful and very polite. The pain wasn’t at all what I thought, now it did hurt but bearable. I love the tattoo so much! Definitely will come again. Thank you Sebastian for the wonderful experience.

I got my first tattoo here and as soon as I walked in I already knew it was a very welcoming and overall good vibes environment.The staff were super nice and I was able to get my apt. The next day.My tattoo was done by Daniel, Daniel is the man, he did so good on my tattoo. It was a small design in a very awkward place but he absolutely nailed it. He did amazing on the small details and he was very light handed so my tattoo was relatively painless especially considering my tattoo was on my neck. Which is supposed to be a very sensitive area. Overall this place was amazing, made my first tattoo experience a breeze and I will definitely be going back to Daniel in the near future!

Went in for a piercing with the amazing apprentice Erin. The experience was great! Amanda was so fun and made sure I was super comfortable every step of the way. I was a little indecisive about what I wanted to get but they both helped me decide what would work and were super patient with me. Erin did an incredible job with my piercings. Joan is an amazing tattoo artist that I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful tattoo on their body. My daughter was excited to get her ear pierced today, got there around 1245 and waited for 30 mins and no one showed up to do her piercing. I called couple days ago to make sure someone is there to do it and they open at 12. Very disappointed!

However the wait was not unbearable. Once getting back there, my daughter had all her questions answered, she was put at ease and the artist took her time and did a great job. Both times I had been a walk-in and they saw me in a timely manner, they were patient answered all of my questions, and I never felt like they were trying to upsell me on work expensive jewelry.I will always recommend them to friends and family looking for piercings.

We went to the Matthews location. They were fast and professional but the automated online questions and post visit questionnaires are days late. Automated customer service is sub par and very impersonal.

My wife and I cam here looking to get a matching couples tattoo. We had a design in mind and our artist Kevin designed it, made it a reality and knocked it out of the park. The shop was very welcoming and accommodating the whole time we were there, they were a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be back for our next tattoo once we figure out what we want next.

I finally got the courage to get my (.)(.) pierced after saying ive wanted to do it for YEARS. I decided to go to Black Cloud because I am new to the area and everyone recommended this location to me. And I am so happy I did :) I was able to walk in and was almost immediately greeted by the lovely Sam. She was such a ball of joy and was able to get me in and out of there in a very short amount of time. Not only that, but she also helped calm my nerves beforehand. When it was finally time it was a very smooth and fast process. I definitely wouldn’t say it was painless, but I can say I have stubbed my toe and it hurt more than that. I was always a little self conscious about my breast and with Sam’s help I have never been more confident. I will definitely come back to this location for any more of my piercing needs and will 100% be asking for Sam.

Amanda pierced my 7 year old daughter’s ears. It was an excellent experience and my daughter is so excited and happy! We took our 5.5 y.o. daughter to get her ears pierced. Alex is absolutely wonderful and would highly recommend her for anyone! She narrated everything for my daughter, and reassured her at anytime if she wanted to not go through with it no meant no and she would respect that and we really appreciated that. Alex, took her time to make sure the positioning was just right, valued our input, and made the experience as enjoyable as can be for our daughter. To be turned away at the door because no artists wanted to do my tattoo was extremely disappointing. I asked for a small ear tattoo and was told that it was not possible by anyone there. Going so far as to say the pictures I was showing them of other ear tattoos werent real. Instead, I went to Hollywood Ink and got exactly what I wanted from Amanda there. Seems as though these artist only want to tattoo what they like, and not cater to their clients.The review from the owner further proves how unprofessional this shop is. I am a local guide which means I have left several reviews of many businesses - what made you think this was my first review? Own up to your mistakes and all the future business youve lost from being lazy and turning away a tattoo that took another artist 5 minutes.

Awesome experience with Amanda. I got my upper lobes and helix pierced, and she was awesome! The shop was impeccably clean and sanitized. Everyone was friendly and it was a quick and easy process!

This Mathews location is really low on professionalism. Location hours show 12-7, but when I visited the location around 12.40 pm, I was told that the artists come after 2 pm. And should I need to set up an appointment, I should directly reach out to artists on Instagram.I messaged two of their 3 artists (Curtis & Sebastian), but never got any response. Unless you have lot of time to waste, this location can be avoided as there are plenty of ARTISTS in the city who take their work and customers seriously.And my recommendation to this location is that remove the sign that says Walkins are welcome when you dont even have a basic mechanism to setup appointments.A lot of 5 star google reviews have been left by people who have just one review :) Appears interesting. Nice strategy to attract new customers.

I got my ears pierced. I was so scared and nervous and it did not hurt. No bleeding and no soreness. A month later no problems with my ears at all. I would recommend the one in Matthews, NC. The one in Concord Mills are very rude.

Curtis is a true artist with his incredible use of color. Recently had a hummingbird tattoo done and didn’t want it too big. The detail that was put into such a small design is incredible. Color placement and movement creates an iridescent effect. I had a certain idea of what I wanted but Curtis’ vision made it even better. Will also say that rib tattoos don’t hurt as much as I thought so now I’m considering adding to it!

I bought earrings brand new to put in upper earsThe earrings won’t work. The lady told me they would fit lower ear locations and found the earrings wouldn’t work.I bought 2 earrings for $40 each and can’t wear themBrand new.I was upset because can’t return. The lady offered free starter earrings for piercing on the house and still charged me to put them in. Regular earrings!!!This facility also gave me a quote on a tattoo and at the end said $200 more!! This is cash only. I took out the $300 for tattoo not $500 and the credit union has a limit on cash out.I will go elsewhere for remaining tattoos for family.The business has not treated me very well for the several visits and customers I brought to them.Time to switch!!Upfront service with sales is awful!I called back for better understanding. The piercing associate began talking over me and gaslighting me. She explained that the attempt to put an earring in was a charge. No jewelry was put in- just an attempt.The comped jewelry has a regular earring. Back that anyone can put in. The argument and defensive statements to cover the charge was not worth the service at this facility.Each statement I made to ask associate to listen me while I spoke was responded to with interruptions and reversing the problem back to me. Associate read my comments and began interrupting me without ever wanting to deal with the situation.She had no intent of resolving this poor customer service.Associate hung up on me and then began texting me - further showing the inappropriate behavior and professional respect.Her textThank you letting me know you were not listening.I already reached out to management yesterday and will have management reach out to you going forward for any communication.Thank you.

We’ve visited Black Cloud 4 times and are always happy with their professionalism. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and I feel comfortable trusting my kids to their care.

This place is AMAZING. I got my second holes re pierced and the piercer took the time to make sure the placing was correct and she explained everything as she was doing before she did it. She was quick, professional and knowledgeable. I did this on a whim while visiting from Florida but I will most certainly be back to get more piercings. It’s worth the 5 hour drive.

My 7 year old asked to get her ears pierced for her birthday and Black Cloud came highly recommended. We had no wait time and Natalie was fantastic! She explained what she was going to do and was extremely patient with my daughter. Black Cloud provides an easy after piercing care guide and weve had no issues. I highly recommend Natalie at the Matthews location!

I was a walk in appointment and got pierced very quickly! Alex pierced my nose, my littles sister’s second lobes and changed my mom’s jewelry. They explained the piercing process throughout it, making sure I wasn’t lost as to what was happening. The entire staff is very sweet and I highly recommend going, I will be returning :)

I got both my second lobes and my septum piercing done here, the atmosphere was welcoming and the employees were super nice. The piercing “room” itself was clean and all materials looked sterile. I’ve had my second lobes for about a month now and my septum even longer. No infections. 100% recommend getting your piercings done here. (P.S. they also have saline solution for sale here; and other jewelry).

I came in late on a Friday night with a design in hand. Got me in before closing...te tattoo is beyond phenomenal....see the pictures.

Went in here with my cousin to get a tattoo because it was close to our location. Felt very welcomed and our tattoo artist Sebastian was great! I definitely will be coming back.

Sebastian was awesome with my walk in tattoo! Amanda and Sam were so cool and made me feel so sociable while i was here B sam pierced my nipple so well! ! i love this whole team❤️

We took my 12 year old daughter there to get her ears pierced, which is something she has wanted for a long time, but was afraid to do. Both the young woman at the front desk and the man who was going to do the actual piercing were very friendly and patient and put her at ease. It was a very good experience.However,When I went to pay, he said 112.xx and then flipped around the tablet for me to sign. I signed and then as the screen was changing I caught the total of 139.xx. The next screen was waiting for me to punch OK so I said wait a second, you said 112 but it looked like that was a lot more.He responded oh, that was probably the tax and he reached around and hit OK. The receipt printed and he folded it in half and gave it to me. My wife and daughter were already headed out so I followed.When I looked at the receipt, I discovered that a tip of almost 27 dollars had been added. I called back and he explained that that is added automatically and I should have seen it when I signed. He is right, I SHOULD have seen it, but since he said 112 and flipped over the tablet for me to sign, I did not pay as much attention as I should have. When I did question it in the store, the fact that he said it was probably the taxes lets me know he knew what was going on then but chose not to be forthright.He said if I came back in, he would refund me and recharge my card for the service. By that time I was aggravated, so I said I would also like to return the $16 bottle of saline spray for after care. (It was overpriced and they never said how much it would be but I would have let that slide if this other thing had not happened.) When he rung it up again, he took time to show me where the tip was filled in, but you can edit that if you want with whatever amount you want to tip. At that point, I did not feel like tipping anything so I left it blank.I have never been in a piercing/tattoo parlor before and I dont know the protocol or expectations. Maybe a 25% tip is expected. I normally think of tattoo parlors as seedy, greedy places. This place was not seedy and I was beginning to think I had misjudged due to stereotypes but unfortunately it still came across as greedy in the end. The sad part is that the guy probably deserved a tip but his lack of candor earned him a big 0UPDATE: The owner of someone in charge contacted me and said this was not acceptable and asked for more details and the name of the person I dealt with. Dont know what will come of it.

Im going back to Curtis for a chocker tattoo. I want black lace with a cross that looks like a lowercase t with a ruby heart ❤️ in the middle. I want it to come together under my Aries tattoo. The chain will look like a thorny rose vine. The rose starts out a bud. Blooms , dies and turns back to dust.He will kill it. I trust him.Hes pretty funny too. I was entertained. Time flew by.

The piercers were so sweet, so understanding, very informative. I almost blacked out and they immediately rushed to take care of me, did everything correctly. They made the whole experience SO easy and comforting!! Especially Alex. I wish I remembered the names of the two other amazing piercers .....Either way, kudos to them for being so caring!!Kasumo, the tattoo artist, made my tattoo experience extremely quick and easy. I have never been so at ease getting a tattoo done. Kasumo paid special attention to my requests, and kept making sure I was ok. She paid close care to every single detail! I am very happy with the results, and will definitely come back to her!!!

I had my helix pierced here in August. The experience was great. Now, 4 mo the later my piercing developed a bump. I went into the shop and the woman working there was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and helpful and told me how to take care of it. Great place, very clean and ready to help after the initial service.

It was a super easy and quick process. And affordable too. The lady that pierced my daughters nose did an absolutely amazing job. She was so nice and professional.Thank you!!

Mari is AWESOME!! I went to get my ears repierced after having my previous piercings close up due to my metal allergy. She did a beautiful job on my ears and the entire experience was quick, painless, and professional. So I did not want to leave a bad review but I feel that it is a must.. so I got my forward helix and tragus pierced on one ear and immediately felt that both piercings were very painful during the process and immediately after. I told myself I would give it time and here we are nearly 2 months later and they did not heal and even developed keloids on both piercings, front and back. I had had the same exact piercings done to my other ear years ago by a piercer from my hometown and didn’t even feel like I had gotten it pierced - no pain whatsoever. So I returned to her today to get the jewelry removed and she told me that the reason for my discomfort is because a curved bar was placed in both piercings. And that type of jewelry should only be used for eyebrows or belly buttons, which makes sense. I paid $120 plus tip at black cloud just to be left with scar tissue and keloids on my ear. I didn’t do my research and I just hope this review helps someone else out.

Went here because my daughter wanted her nose pierced TODAY of course (holiday weekend). I’m a firm believer of doing research and came here based off of reviews I had read. We walked in and there were about 4 other people in the lobby but we were greeted by Emma and instructed on how to proceed. Since my daughter is only 15, they had a convenient QR code to scan and fill out the forms. We waited maybe 15 minutes before Emma brought us back. She was ever so patient with my daughter while she decided on placement and explained reasons to consider each “dot” she marked. Emma also took the time to explain to my daughter the process and what to expect and how to care for her new piercing. She gave us the best way to contact her if we had any follow up questions as well. The place was clean and and everything was sterile. Don’t regret coming here one bit! UPDATE:I cannot say enough good things about this place. I snagged my dermal a few days ago & noticed the post was sticking ever so slightly out. I went back to the shop & the lady I spoke with this time was also amazing. She gave great advice on how to make sure it didn’t reject & how to make sure it would sit flush with the skin again. Once again 10/10 recommend this shop.**********************I wish I could remember the name of the girl who did my dermal piercing on 12/16 in Matthews. She did an amazing job. This is the 3rd dermal I’ve had on my chest area. She got it dead center. It couldn’t be more centered if she tried. & so far it is healing beautifully. I would definitely go back for another piercing in the future.Not to mention, the aesthetic & vibe of the shop is awesome.

I took my daughter to Black Cloud for her first piercing. I must say from the moment we walked in we were shown great customer service with friendly staff from checking in to checking out. My daughter received her piercing and they explained everything to her including what might be painful (forceps) and proper after care. I would definitely recommend going to Black cloud for your next piercing. My daughter is already talking about her next one.

I had a great experience at this shop. The environment was chill. Check-In was easy, their since of customer service was good as well. Daniel was the artist who tattooed me. He was nice, asked me questions to make sure I got the tattoo I wanted and I’m very happy with the final result. It is clean, the line work is consistent. Definitely a good place to get tattoos.

Very clean and professional environment. My 9 year old got her ear lobes pierced at the Matthews location and they explained everything and helped her to stay calm (she hates needles). They also provide aftercare products and information. Great experience all around.

Had a great experience at Black Cloud. Was in town for a few days with my boyfriend and we decided on a whim to get tattoos of our dog who just passed. The staff was able to fit us in even though we didnt have an appointment. Daniel was very patient while we explained our designed and gave us exactly what we wanted. He listened and made sure that the tattoo met our expectations. Daniel did my tattoo and he was very steady and calm, and the tattoo turned out perfectly. They charged a reasonable price (i.e. not cheap but definitely did not try to take advantage of us just because we were walk ins). Highly recommend.

Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Ear piercing lady was precise, efficient, and had a calm disposition that inspired trust and eased fears for a 1st piercing for a teen. We had both lobes and 1 helix pierced with no anxiety.

My sister & i went to get myself another nose piercing & to get her septum jewelry changed & also get my sisters ears pierced. We had Cierra & she was so nice & answered my many questions. She was super nice! I would love to have her do my future piercings.

I was looking for a good piercing shop for my little girl to get her ears pierced and was told by numerous friends to try Black Cloud and I am so happy we did! This place was highly recommended by a former coworker, and I decided to take my little sister for her birthday, as well as get piercings myself. The lady who did the piercings was very nice, patient, and answered all the questions we both had. Afterwards she explained the aftercare multiple times, just to make sure we understood, which was very helpful. I will definitely be going back for future piercings!

Ive been coming here the last two years for my tattoos and piercings. The person I used to go to moved, so I had to find somewhere else. It takes me some time before I can determine if I trust a company or artist with my tattoos. Black cloud has phenomenal artist. I cant say Ive always had the same person when I go in, but they always do amazing work. They take the time and care to actually listen and put together some great pieces.The piercers are always super nice and cheerful as well!

The guy who did my septum piercing was AMAZING. I was a mess going in, anxiety through the roof lmao. This was my third time getting my septum re pierced so I was nervous abt how bad it was gonna hurt bc of scar tissue. He was so patient w me, talked me through it, put the clamps on before doing the actual piercing so I could get an idea of how it was gonna be. then he did it again for the actual piercing. he let me sit for a few minutes before starting to catch my breathe & relax, he stopped every time i asked him to. he was fantastic, patient, understanding. he took great care of me. definitely will be coming back here for any tattoos or piercing needs.

Mari was incredibly kind and professional. I got my doubles and my cartilage done and they were my first piercing since I was little. She did an amazing job and I’m beyond elated with them! I felt super comfortable and the staff there was great.

I’ve been here a few times for my nose piercing and ear piercing and had an alright experience. The guy was professional and quick but not talkative or comforting at all. Although, I cannot express how happy I am about my last experience. I went by myself to get my belly button pierced and was absolutely terrified. My piercer, Mari, was so helpful and did everything she could to make me feel comfortable. She pierced it quick and almost completely painless, I was extremely impressed. I wish I could’ve gone to her for all of my piercings!

Curtis and Amanda were awesome! I got a tattoo from Curtis who listened to what I asked for and gave me exactly that. They provided good conversation and vibes.

We had a great experience at the Matthews location! My daughter got her ears pierced for the first time, and I got my nostril pierced. Mari was super patient and friendly, and really took her time to find the right placements for the piercings. Everything was super clean, and we were in and out quickly.

Our 4 year old daughter and 7 year old son got ears pierced by Mari and we had a great experiences. She was very understanding when our daughter had second thoughts after the first ear was done. Went to get tattoos with my sister and a couple of family members while they’re in town for the holidays. We arrived around 5pm, and asked if they had availability for 4 small walk in tattoos. We were told that was fine, it would just be a 1-1.5 hour wait for the artist to finish up before we could start, and it’s first come first serve.The receptionist was kind and helpful, & gave us the artists phone #. She instructed my sister to text him our reference photos, and said that he would respond with quotes, sketches, and tell us when he’s ready for us. She sent the reference images/size preferences and we spent 1.5 hours happily waiting in their lobby. We were so excited while looking at the artist’s work (Daniel) online, and were all looking forward to our sessions.Around 6:30pm, we overheard girls in the lobby discussing how they were filling out their waivers after receiving piercing & tattoo services. I realized that we were never asked for our ID’s, put on a waiting list, or instructed to fill out a waiver. My sister walked to the *new* receptionist, who was previously rude to other patrons. When she finally lifted her head from her cell phone, my sister asked her if there was a waiver that the four of us needed to complete before getting the tattoos. She snappily instructed her to sit down, and stated that she would find her an artist to do the tattoos then. My sister gently stated that she’d sent our reference images to the artist, we just wanted to be sure that there wasn’t anything that needed to be completed before our sessions begin. Before she could finish the sentence, the receptionist yelled at her “I’m not listening to a word you’re saying, not even a little bit.”I immediately gathered my family and left, because we won’t be spending our time or money in an establishment where paying customers are treated as subhuman. We were not unruly, interrupting or demanding, and her comment was out of pocket. If you are this unhappy, go home!This person was Amanda, @amandapandapiercings. Her nasty attitude is damaging the livelihood of the artists, and affecting their income.Disappointed that our time was wasted, & we didn’t get to appreciate Daniel’s work on our bodies. So sorry for any coworkers who are losing customers/commission to this rude piercer.

Today I got two piercings at Black Cloud Matthews in each ear (conch and low helix), all done by Amanda. I was so happy with Amanda, who helped me figure out the right piercings for me, and was so much fun to be with. She is really great and I couldn’t be happier with these beautiful new piercings. I would definitely recommend this shop and recommend Amanda to anyone! ❤️❤️

Service was fast and efficient. Piercers were very kind and they talked you through everything they were doing, including allowing you to look at the marks to see if you were okay with the piercing placement before they put in the jewelry. They took the time to make sure both sides were even and that I was okay with the jewelry I had selected. Very quick, very painless and you can purchase some saline on site if needed.

I went in for a lip piercing, my vertical Labret! My piercer Darrin was extremely cool and very kind. He got the exact result I was looking for, and we talked immediately after on what other piercings I see myself getting in the future, I’ll be definitely seeing him again!

Absolutely love this place! I’ve been pierced by Mari a few times now and I’ve always felt safe with her, she’s always made sure the placement was perfect and walks me through the piercing process. On Sunday I got both of my eyebrows as well as my nostril pierced and it was an amazing experience, 10/10 recommend!

Got a helix piercing by Amanda that kept coming off, she wasnt responsive over IG even though she promised she would be, and then tried to charge me for screwing the head of the stud back on. Go to Visual Impact Studio right down the road instead, she replaced the entire piercing just in case it was faulty since it kept happening and didnt charge me a dime.

Mari was amazing and I love that she was so quick! I got my septum done and I was so nervous! She just kept telling me it was gunna be quick and how cute it will look in the end. She was right! I will be back in a month to have her do the other side of my nose! Then I will officially have all my nose piercings done at black cloud! All were great and as painless as possible which I love!

MY daughter got a second piercing and the staff at Black Cloud did an amazing job. Everything thing was sanitized and clean. They use a hollow needle instead of a piercing gun ,and that seemed to be much more accurate, easier and less noisy method for piercing.

Daniel absolutely killed my fine line tattoo!! From start to finish the process was smooth and he always made me feel comfortable. I’ve also gone to other Black Cloud locations for all my ear piercings. Black Cloud cannot be beat! I can’t wait to see how it heals! 🫶🏻

The lady that did the “3 septum piercings” was amazing she was very friendly and down to earth ..she talked them through the whole thing !! I got a butterfly tattoo on my neck and the guy did so good .His lines are neat and he took his time . We was there for maybe an hour if that 🦋

I got pierced at the Matthews location and my boyfriend came in for a tattoo. I can’t remember the names of the two piercers that did my nose piercing, but they were very helpful and explained everything so well. It was my first piercing and they made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. The vibes in the shop were ✨immaculate✨ and I would definitely recommend coming here for your piercings or tattoos!

I took my 2 and 5 year old daughters in to have their ears pierced. The wait was long because so many people were there and only one piercer was available and she was also checking everyone in. She was great with my daughters and neither of them even cried when having the piercing done. It’s been over a month now and we’ve had no complications or infection. I highly recommend them!

We were there for piercing my 8 year old daughters ears about 5 days ago. I found the place to easy, quick and clean. The girl was great at piercing, perhaps not totally comfortable with kids but she was sufficient to get the job done. The piercings are straight, even and no sign of infection so far. I was very happy and would recommend this place to anyone.

Jamison did a wonderful job on my tattoo. I brought in a design, we talked, he tweaked the design based on what I was looking for and he made it better than I could have imagined. I love what he did and his suggestion. The best part, it was his day off and he only came in for a minute. He reviewed what I wanted and chose to help me out although I didnt have an appointment and he had plans elsewhere. This level of service was refreshing and I am already making another appointment with this establishment.

I have now gotten 6 piercings at the Black Cloud Matthews location and I love them all! I have had three different piercers, each made me feel so comfortable and did a fantastic job. All of my piercings have healed well! The piercers were able to give me recommendations and advice which was very helpful. Definitely will be getting all of my piercings here from now on!

Artist did a horrible job. Went outside the lines twice and the line work is just terrible. Such a simple tattoo I find hard to mess up. Better places out there. Good for piercings not so much for tattoos. Extremely disappointed and ruined my experience. Currently looking to get it removed.

Super thankful Black Cloud squeezed me in on a Sunday with no appointment. They were helping me change out a few piercings, but wish I would have come her from the get-go instead. Customer service was awesome and so was the price. Cant recommend this place enough if you are looking for a piercing in the Matthews area!

When I walk in the workers are nice as hell and just so welcoming. I’m new to Charlotte so my nerves get the best of me when I go to places I never been. I forgot the lady that did my piercing but she was so sweet. It hurt like hell cause 1 I don’t do needles but I got through it like a boss. I recommended this place to everyone on my phone the minute I left. Thank y’all for real and I’m definitely coming back!!

We got our daughters’ ear pierced recently. It was a great experience. The front desk could use extra help especially knowing there was additional staff in the back would make a smoother more pleasant experience.

Mari (sp?) Was amazing! She pierced my daughters nose and belly button. Both piercings were handled professionally and were quick and virtually painless. I would recommend her and this shop time and time again!

I have waited years to get my nose pierced because I I wanted to lose weight…kind of a reward. 87 lbs gone and I did it! Mara was AMAZING and it’s perfect! Amanda was very sweet! Took great care of me and my friend. We got belly piercings. My friends first body piercing and my re-pierced from a bad piercer. She was very patient and would love to get pierced by her again.
