World Famous La Mancha Tattooz

It was well worth it to make the reservation with Rico! I sent him the reference photographs and the style a month in ahead of our session. We discussed how to combine the new piece with the others, as well as placement and size. Rico puts a great deal of passion and care into every tattoo element. He was more than happy to answer any questions I had during the session. Rico provided me a lot of options when it came to color selection, but he also gave me excellent advice about where to put the red in order to ensure that the cobra stood out and what colors would look best for the body and other parts of the cobra. The shop has a great vibe to it and the hospitality of the shop is top notch! I’ll definitely be going back soon to the La Mancha Tattooz team soon! 🙏I couldn’t stay away! Shop is organized and clean. The equipment is new and clean. I love that he has all of his awards and different artwork on the walls. It’s a really special place! He works alone and by appointment so it’s just you and him. You feel like the center of attention and that feels great. One thing I appreciate is that he charges by the hour. So if he finishes in an hour, that’s all you pay for. Which is good because let’s say the piece your doing is large and you reach a point where its too painful to continue, you can stop the session, pay for the time used and reschedule 3-4 weeks later to go back and finish the job. I also appreciate that his machine records the time being used. I compared in with my phone timer and it was spot on. He is fair and honest! I also appreciate that he keeps the session entertaining. He will put you a movie or converse with you and tell jokes. He really is a great guy!Be prepared to pay a deposit! You have the understand that when you schedule a session, he is reserving that time exclusively for you, that means if you don’t go he just lost out on money that he could have been earning had he booked someone else. So yeah he charges a fair $100 deposit which is more than reasonable. But don’t worry that deposit is of course credited to your time. So let’s say your tattoo was an hour long you would only be paying him $100 after the session since you already paid $100 towards the deposit.I honestly consider myself lucky to have found him. He’s originally from California and has so many accolades in the field of tattooing. Like the odds of getting someone of his caliber in my area here in south Texas is just pure luck. You will be blown away by his talent. What I really appreciate his that if you give him a concept he will take the time to rework it so that it works for you! For example I gave him three images that I wanted him to incorporate into one and he invested 17 hours of his own time into creating a whole design for me! I am forever grateful! It was beyond amazing what he was able to come up with.But yeah if you manage to land on this page, don’t look anymore. Consider yourself lucky and book an appointment ASAP!!!Like really, don’t think about anymore. Call his number and ask him when he has a date available and book the date!

Got my tattoo done with Rico Thursday morning. He was respectful, professional and all out talented. He tackled my tattoo in a timely manner and at a super reasonable price. I stumbled upon this hidden gem(at least for me as I recently relocated to the RGV) Spoke with Kate and presented my ideas and we set up an appointment. Not only is Kate is an amazing artist with a steady hand, she is quite a conversationalist - which is refreshing because most often you’re awkwardly sitting in silence for a few hours. The time flew by and the piece came out phenomenally. No more searching - I’ll be returning to her for the rest of my ink work.

Been working on a sleeve with Rico for the last few months. He’s exceptional. Not only have I found my tattoo artist but I’ve found a friend as well. A 5 hour session feels like 20 minutes because we just chop it up and I’m grateful for that. His new hire Kate is really down to earth as well. I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere else as long as I’m in the rgv.

DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Rico is absolutely phenomenal. I moved here and soon after had gotten a really bad tattoo done from somewhere else in the area. He was able to not only fix the mess but transform it into something better than I could have imagined. He’s not only great at his job but he’s personable and makes getting tattooed a breeze because you can trust whatever he’s going to turn it into. He saved my arm and ended up creating AND completing a sleeve for me in a limited amount of time. I didn’t just get the best sleeve I could have ever asked for, I got a ton of memories and laughs from being in there with him in the process. If the circumstances permit it, I will be flying back here to get my tattoos from him. Can’t stress it enough that I would not recommend going to anyone else. You’ll waste your time not being in there with him.

La Mancha is the definition of a high-quality tattoo shop. I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted but when Rico sent me the drawing I was blown away. He was able to incorporate an existing tattoo that was getting in the way of what I wanted. Everytime I see it in the mirror it brings a smile to my face. I got a tattoo on my birthday from chris estrada and I have NEVER had a BETTER experience with an artist. I came to him with an incomplete idea and he created something way cooler than I had even described. He is very detail oriented so made sure all the lines and colors were perfect. He also has the kind of energy and personality that makes you feel comfortable and like yall have been friends for years. During tattoos I dont normally talk much and we easily chatted the entire 3-4 hours which made it go by quickly and made my bday feel special despite the times are we living in. I cannot wait to come back and get more and I recommend Chris 100%.

I went to la mancha tattoo for a memorial tattoo for my grandma. she was suffering from lung cancer and didnt have much time left. i really wanted her to have the chance to see it before she passed. not only did my artist Rico make sure that she got the chance to see it but he also gave me an incredibly beautiful tattoo that truly helped me through those tough times. not only is the tattoo work amazing at this shop so is the staff, ive spent hours in this shop and whether i was getting tattood or sitting with someone who was everyone has always made sure i was comfortable. A handful of friends, my sister, mother and aunt (who flew in from texas for her tattoo) all proudly wear la mancha tattoos. so if you a want an all around amazing tattoo experience go to la mancha!
