Of I could give it a zero I would. I got no aftercare sheet, my ear is on fire and throbbing. its been three weeks. Im going elsewhere to have it looked at. Would never recommend this place to anyone. New owners sooooo not like the other ones. Its really gone down hill. It was my rook.

I had a great experience getting pierced here. The staff is super friendly, there are clean facilities, and I appreciated having private rooms for piercings. I also love the inclusion and felt very safe. Planning to go back soon!

The wait is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. I’ve gotten ALL my of my piercings here (I have about 20) and time after time I feel I wait longer and longer. If you do not have at least 3 hours to spare in your day do NOT go here. The staff is amazing but the wait is terrible. I feel they need to do better with timing. Like the wait today was so long I never want to return here again, that’s how bad it is. You shouldn’t have to wait 1-3 hours for a piercing that takes less than 10 minutes. They weren’t even busy. They need to have more piercers on at a time to avoid long waits.

Had my 2 year olds earlobes pierced by Jesse. She provided reassurance and told us how to hold her while the piercings were being done. Procedure was super fast and the toddler left waving to everyone.

My 6 year old came in for her ear piercings. Jessie did one because she was in pain and scared to get the next one done. From the start Jessie was very abrasive and non welcoming to my child. My daughter asked what she was doing and she did not respond so my mother and I tried to walk my child through it. When my daughter asked again Jessie told her to “listen and I’ll walk you through it”, which she did not do. She gave my daughter less than two minutes to collect herself and then said she was done and not piercing her other ear. After another couple minutes my daughter said she was ready to which Jessie responded “I already cleaned up”. Jessie should not be piercing young children with that kind of attitude and disregard for how overwhelming the experience can be for a child. After the appointment I heard the front desk offer to pierce another child both ears at once which they did not offer to my daughter. 100% would never recommend, at least not for a child. Jessie made this experience harder than it should have been.

To begin with i would like to say i have never gone in and had a ‘quick’ appointment. whether i was a walk in or pre scheduled client i have always spent 1-2 hours there. i have had 4 total piercings done at this shop and wish i never got a single one with them. my first piercing was when i was 16 i got a facial piercing and the man who pierced me was rude and all in all seemed like he didn’t want to be there doing his job. i got another piercing a few years later and a different piercer was very rude at first but then warmed up towards the end and i ended up having a great experience with them. i decided to get two more piercings and one of them has since rejected due to my anatomy being incorrect and the other just doesn’t seem like it was pierced correctly. if someone doesn’t have the right anatomy for a piercing then you should tell them!!! i did everything i could to save it. i would also like to add that i have repeatedly purchased jewelry for a specific piercing and it had needed to be replaced twice in the last 6 months as it continues to fall out. their jewelry is NOT meant for extended wear. i am very displeased with this place and as someone with several piercings i wouldn’t recommend going there for anything other than ear piercings.

I would never recommend this place. I paid for a piercing up front made the appointment when i went there for the appointment they were closed. Then when i tried to reschedule the said they gave me a gift certificate which i never got by the way. And now they want to charge me again for something i already paid for. Bad business practice. And terrible customer service. I now have a response from the owner Wondering why didnt get the piercing done that first initial day i came in and paid up front which does not really matter why but the fact is i did not have time to wait seeing how i had to get back to work this was being done on my lunch hour. So how did i come back an 1-1/2 hours later to pick up a gift certificate when i was at work. I never took the jewelry either i watched them put in my file into a filing cabinet. The staff is unorganized and lying about this case with me why i dont know. Maybe to try and cover there mistakes. My next step is to file a complaint with the better business bureau.

I ordered a very basic/common earing in August 2023. They just called me in August 2024 to say it has arrived. Really they thought I waited a year for this. When I was told it would take a month or so to get it, I went online and had the exact same earring in 5 days. Tried to support local business, but not with this type of customer service.

I was honestly so nervous on getting my babies ear pierced at the mall because of their lack of training and they don’t give you any info on what to expect.We came here and one of the employees here told us very important information about the piercing and jewelry that they wouldn’t tell you at the mall! And the girl that pierced my baby was super friendly and also interacted with our baby so she feels safe.😊I would definitely recommend this place!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bummed about this place as my piercings did turn out well (lobe piercings) but pricing felt a bit deceptive. I was asked to pick out jewelry (the selection seemed very cheap) and it said about $22. When I went to check out, my lobe piercings ended up costing me $150 when I expected it to be around $70-80 max as they charged $22 per each piercing and then charge you separately for the backing. I chose gold piercings and the backings did not match as they were silver. Much higher end places will charge less, or if the same, for high quality gold jewelry with backings that match and a larger selection. Many of the staff did seem quite unsure of themselves as well. Definitely worth it to go somewhere else as someone with a lot of piercings!

My kids were a little wiggly picking out earrings and waiting for an hour, but the piercing of my kids ears and my jewelry insertion went quickly and pretty comfortably. We love the flat back earrings - very comfortable.

Got my septum here. Showed up 15 minutes early and had to wait a little while.I was able to voice my concerns and questions and all staff listened and accommodated me when we thought I wouldn’t be able to get it. They worked with me and the actual piercer was very nice and kind. Piercing itself was less than 5 minutes, quick and rather painless.

I got my helix pierced a while ago here. It was all great and the person piercing was pretty nice. Though, when I got it done and went home I noticed the piercing was crooked. it was going through the side of my earl instead of the back. I’ve been keeping up with the aftercare of it and it still ended up infected. I wouldn’t recommend this place, piercing from claire’s went better.

This place is one of the worse piercing places I’ve gone too. I came in with my sister for our tongues pierced. To start off everything,, the piercer that came to warn us about the piercing we wanted was very rude and smelt HORRIBLE. So on, we agreed to the terms and still got it. My sister ended up changing her mind to just a normal horizontal tongue piercing but I stuck with mine.(snake eyes) the wait was very long. We waited for about 30 minutes which we expected since we were walk ins.They took us in a room. The girl who pierced my sister was pretty nice but wasn’t talking at all. And than the same girl or guy whatever they were, that warned me about my piercing was just rude and so serious and plus smelt SO BAD ! Her breath was just nasty. So for those 2 piercings I ended up paying almost 200$ ! CRAZY.When we went home we than noticed our piercings were cricket ! Mine wasn’t straight at all and was very noticeable, and my sister’s wasn’t even in the middle it was more towards the back of the tongue! I ended up taking mine out after a week because of how cricket it was. And my sisters ended up getting hers infected as much as she took care of it. Worse experience. Don’t go there.

Made an appointment online, got there a few minutes early so I could pick out my jewelry, pay, etc. Ended up having to wait a whole hour after my appointment time before getting to go back and get pierced, which took all of 5 minutes or so. The actual piercer was good and the piercing room was sanitary... cant say the same for the waiting room. Also there were at least 5 children there running around and screaming and jumping on the only seating for people waiting (a very crusty couch). So I was forced to stand for that hour I waited. I wouldve just gotten a refund and walked out but all of the employees were in the back area talking. My coworker ended up going there too (which I didnt know, or I wouldve highly advised against it) and she had to wait 45 minutes when nobody else was there while the employees just trash talked their jobs, the owner, etc while she waited. So, not just a one time problem. Dont go here.

I was a walk-in, so I did have to wait a while, which I had expected. The staff was very friendly and answered all of our questions. My friend was getting his first piercing, and our piercer talked him through everything to help him relax.

Ive had several piercings done here from my septum to my unmentionables. Ive not once had any issues. Any concerns and questions were thoroughly discussed and answered. The piercers are always extremely professional.

I had a great experience at Avant-Garde. The staff were friendly and helpful. They helped me with picking out jewelry and answered all my questions. I was a walk-in appointment so I did have a wait a little bit, but that was expected so I didn’t mind. I would definitely recommend getting pierced here.

I have my nose pierced and up to my thirds done in my ears. I’ve gotten 3 out of my 4 piercings done at Avant Garde. My seconds in my ears were done about 6 years ago, my nostril piercing was done a little over 3 years ago, and I just got my third ear lobe piercings done a few weeks ago. As for piercing results, I’ve loved how all of mine look except for my most recent one. The piercing map drawn with sharpie looked fine to me in the mirror but after actually being pierced, my 3 ear lobe piercings are now uneven and the 3rds were pierced too close to my 2nds. Disappointed.My experience with getting my second ear lobe piercings done was great from what I remember, though that was 6 years ago, with mostly different staff, and in their previous location. Getting my nose pierced 3 years ago was a pretty decent experience- though it hurt a lot and the piercer really didn’t say much at all. That seems to be a common theme here, though my most recent piercings at Avant Garde were 3 years apart! I would have assumed customer service would have gotten better within those few years but I guess not.When I went in to get my third ear lobe piercings done a few weeks ago, it was a spur of the moment decision so of course I was a walk-in. I had no issues with any wait times they might have since I didn’t have an appointment, so that was not a problem at all. The person I talked to at the front desk when I told them I would be a walk-in, seemed to have a different opinion. I felt like I was an inconvenience because I didn’t have an appointment, even though I didn’t express any negativity with the fact there would be an undisclosed wait time. None of the staff I interacted with seemed to have any customer service training or skills whatsoever. They all seemed like they would rather be anywhere but at work, didn’t have any interest in communicating with customers, and just overall seemed to be indifferent and almost rude. I’m allergic to nickel and I know it’s not a sought-after material for jewelry but they didn’t have many options that were nickel-free unless you wanted to pay a lot. Again, not a big deal, but after the nickel-free options were pointed out to me and I had picked it out, the front desk person THEN told me that along with each piece of jewelry being a set price, the backings were $17 each (if I remember correctly) after already starting to bag up the jewelry. I decided to go with a cheaper option that didn’t have additional prices for the backings and the person at the desk seemed annoyed. When it came time for the actual piercing, the piercer barely spoke. Aside from the “deep breath in… let it out” part when my ear was actually being pierced, I don’t think she said a single word to me. Again with the lack of customer service! I don’t need a whole conversation or anything, but absolute silence and not even asking how I liked the piercing after it was done is completely strange and just bad business. Basic customer service skills should be a given.Avant Garde is a very clean environment and I like the method they use to pierce instead of using a standard piercing gun, but if you’re looking for good- event decent customer service and staff I wouldn’t bother.

The building is extremely professional and clean. The employees are knowledgeable and willing to help and give advice. I have gotten my nose and eyebrow pierced with them. The healing process was smooth and I had no complications. I would recommend going here if you are looking for a piercing done! Staff is friendly, kind and considerate. I highly recommend and will be back for more in the future!

Wouldn’t recommend this place for kids who are nervous/anxious. I’ve heard good things from adults who’ve gotten pierced here. Our daughter was pretty nervous and the staff is not very supportive or patient. There are better places to take a nervous kid who needs a reassuring voice.

Rude owner who messed up my piercing and also my mom’s. My mom showed him her tragus piercing and he started talking about how it was pierced wrong and with the incorrect jewelry meanwhile he was the one who pierced her. I had an issue with a torn nostril piercing which he claimed was not torn and was irritated due to me using the “wrong soap” to clean it, they were no help with my piercing complications and when I went home I took out the piercing to realize it was completely torn and made a crescent moon shaped cut through my nostril it is beyond me why the piercer was defensive and blaming me for something that I don’t think anyone was fully at fault for but some honestly and transparency would have been nice.

Took my 5 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced. We decided to have them pierced simultaneously so it would be over with quicker for her. They did a great job talking her through each step of the process so she knew what they were doing and what to expect. I would recommend and will be back when my youngest is ready to have hers done.

Service was actually terrible but let me let you know something. Even though the people that work here have horrible service. Let me tell you right now you will never ever get an infected piercing here. They do the best piercings out of any shop i know.

Waited embarrassingly long (maybe an hour) just to buy jewelry with a friend. When I was finally assisted, the associate was rude and not understanding of my friends basic request. I got home and the jewelry they gave me was broken. It was a cheap, externally threaded septum ring. Should’ve been a basic item… and, of course, no returns :) it cost $22. I would give one star but they seem over worked and the associate who checked me out was kind. I understand weekend can be busy, but this overall experience was comically bad lol

Ive gotten six piercings at AG over three appointments. It is always very clean, and the staff are always very knowledgeable. There is usually a wait: AG seems to be perpetually understaffed, so while the people there are super informed and patient with customers, it does mean that your piercer can be stuck answering a phone call and delay your piercing, etc. Come early to do the safety paperwork and relax and look at the fish. I dont want to rush my appointment and I dont want them to rush me (or anyone else) either. There are definitely cheaper places to get holes put in yourself, but not all of those places will take a solid 20 minutes to talk to you about piercing and medication reactions so you understand in depth what you are dealing with, the way I saw a piercer at AG do at my last appointment.

I went there for the first time this week. They are very friendly and professional. My friend and I had our piercings done by Sage, he was great! I highly recommend Avant Garde.

If I could do zero I would, this place overpriced ash, you book an appointment you still got to wait, my friend went in for a lip pricing paying almost 140 that don’t even make no type of sense, the piercer was rough too. DO NOT GO THERE GO TO BODY RITUAL SO SO MICH BETTER AND COSTUMER SERVICES ARE WAY BETTER AND SMOOTHER AND FASTER!

Honestly the best shop around! Every piercing I have gotten here has been a breeze and it heals so well as long as you follow the instruction booklet they give you. The whole team there is just fantastic. Kaeylen (forgive my spelling) was absolutely a pro and was efficient and quick. Thank you girl, I love my nose stud!

Well, Im just say the lady was really rude! The fact shes smells & someones is reakin of Marijuana🙄outloud! & not to mention we were only black African Americans chicks! The trans was polite... when my friend ask about her peirce ect..than the lady came out the back kinda Slammed her papers down! When Blurted out, how its reeks & were ask to leave!!! Really lady😐ooh and they were all whites were the only African American once again! Im sure we werent & want be the last to reeks of Marijuana! Anyways the other plc accepted with no problem at all!! Oh and Were all getting piercies.

I went to Avant-Garde to get my ears pierced and to purchase a threaded nose ring, which is what I currently wear. The person who sold me the $48.73 (without tax) nose jewelry handed it to me with out any packaging other than the plastic that the manufacturer provides. The servicer then said that they needed to bend the nose ring. They did so and handed it to me. Having a wonderful experience at Body Ritual (4.4 ⭐ rating 🙂), who will, at least give you a bag for your purchases, I must have had too high of expectations for Avant-Garde (4.1 star rating). Since I had no place to put the jewelry (again no bag or box) I placed it inside of my cell phone and credit card purse. During that time, I said I wanted help with the nose ring. The servicer politely indicated that the person providing the service could assist me. Once back in the room, Jessie preformed the ear piercing service but wasnt kind or polite. She seemed confused when I handed her the nose ring and asked if she could put it in as directed by the initial seller of the nose ring. Jessie was not aware of what I was talking about. She walked out and I followed her after gathering my belongings. We stopped in the middle of the store and Jessie started conversing with Sage about the nose ring being bent. Sage ask me how did the item get bent. I was proplexed about what she was referring to. I didnt notice any damage to it. She indicated if I didnt have it in my wallet it wouldnt have bent. She said since I bent it, it was my fault so there was nothing they could do about it. She said that they could straighten it but it might break. I was unable to get a replacement, which is what I wanted or a refund. When Jessie went to straighten it, it broke. The owner Brent and Sage were very rude and condescending and said I should have common sense. The only thing Sage apologized for was selling me the incorrect item in the 1st place and the miscommunication. Bottom line go to Body Ritual or anyplace but here. Its cost effective and you will receive quality products by kind people.

My 9 year old daughter got her ears pierced this week and we had an outstanding experience! Every staff member was professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. I wasnt sure how a piercing facility would deal with a child, but our experience was phenomenal. My daughter felt comfortable and I was impressed with the sterilization procedures and cleanliness. Jesse was proficient and clearly explained everything to my daughter. Would highly recommend this establishment to clients of all ages.

I just visited this shop less than three weeks ago for new piercing and a jewelry change. The jewelry that was in my helix prior had been there for 5 years no issues. They do the jewelry change, I paid $400 for this piece of jewelry, and three weeks later it falls out. I do not touch my piercing pull twist etc.I call today to ask if they will replace the backing and re-insert my jewelry, they said I would need to pay for these services and the new backing. I told them that this service was just performed and I’ve never had helix jewelry just fall out. The lady on the phone was extremely rude and says that hers fall out all the time. I am not sure if this is just overall staff incompetence, but I have never had a piece of jewelry just fall out like that and neither has anyone I know. In fact, the jewelry is usually so secure (as is the case before they changed it), that I need to go in professionally to get it changed out and cannot just pull it apart at home. In addition they did not even look up the service, service date, type of jewelry etc to even see if what could be going on in my case.I called another piercer who I have seen and trust and unfortunately they could not insert since they only reinsert from APP certified shops. They told me that the earring falling out from daily tasks is not a common case and that the shop should have looked at why it fell out so soon. Consulting another shop they also said that it should not have fallen out easily based on the type of earring (neometal) and back (threadless) and that it likely wasn’t bent far enough when placed. They said the chance of jewelry just falling out does not normally happen and that the usual case is from someone pulling the ends apart, which again I did not do as I just paid a lot of money for this earring.Edit after reading owners responses to other people who had jewelry prematurely fall out: I DO have the top part of the earring (luckily caught it before it went down the drain) I just wanted the back replaced

I’ve gotten numerous ear piercings done there… ALL perfectly done… and the staff have always been friendly and respectful.

Did a nice job with my daughter’s ear piercing. Went back for earrings and it took over an hour to buy 3 earrings. Not sure how it’s was possible even after experiencing it lol

Came here back in March 2019 for a daith ear piercing & was so please I came back yesterday for the Tragus piercing. Both experiences were awesome. Staff is very efficient & friendly. Always ready to answer questions and are very knowledgeable. Would recommend them to anybody whos interested in getting piercing work done.

Took my daughter for her nose piercing she was nervous and so was I. These guys here made you feel comfortable! My daughter said it was a piece of cake! The piercing girl was excellent!! If we decide to do more piercings we ARE COMING HERE! 100%! Thank you guys for the great service!! Very very clean! Prices were reasonable.. makes sense when you got great service and a great staff!

The business was very clean and piercing staff was very good at their job. My concerns were how long we had to wait even with an appt and the earrings my daughter got broke less than two days later. When we went to replace we were told that it happens often, and it happened with the second earring as well. In both situations I don’t feel there was much effort to apologize or keep us content as customers.

I went in to get some piercings today but unfortunately the person working has these stickers on her car. Coming from a blue family I will never support an establishment that has that amount of disrespect for my family who risks their lives for our safety every single day.

Overall, I would rate my experience a total of four stars I was able to book my nostril piercing online very easily which was nice. Sage was very polite and professional. She helped me select my jewelry and seem to have a lot of experience and knowledge of piercings. I was able to fill out the form, pick up my jewelry and get pierced all within 30 minutes of being there. Again, Sage was very sterile and professional and quick when doing my piercing. My only issue is with the pricing not being very transparent online they didn’t mention anything about having to pay for additional jewelry. The jewelry I was told to select when I got there it was $25 but it was made unclear that the backing of the jewelry was an additional $17 so I ended up paying a total of $40 on the spot when I got there before I got my piercing done, which is fine but I wish that would’ve been made clear sooner because I was thinking the whole piercing would be $40 but apparently that was just to book the appointment so everything in total is just about $80-$90

The atmosphere is clean and comfy. the selection of jewelry is amazing!! theres so many different types of colors, styles, etc. Brent did an amazing job at my eyebrow piercing. he was professional and made sure to explain everything and answer all the questions i had. amazing experience :) highly recommend for anyone who wants a piercing

The only piercing I ever had work out from here has been my seconds. My thirds are still messed up and it’s been over a year, and I had to take out BOTH of my cartilage piercings since they were originally pierced too close together. Due to the extremely large bar I was provided, and never informed to size down, the piercing “healed” at an angle, leading it very prone to infections. They also don’t have any basic gems, or really any suitable nose piercings, and they just use cartilage piercings. I’m down 150 bucks and had to sacrifice multiple piercings. Place was clean enough and staff was decently nice, just doesn’t really do a great job.

This place and their employees are wonderful. Every single one of them. Always nice, always patient and understanding, always knowledgeable and precise. They take their job seriously and I wouldnt trust anyone else to do work on me or my friends and family. My fiance and I love you guys. Thank you again. BTW this is George lol

I have had several piercings done here and they were all incredible until my last experience. I made a walk in appointment for a basic ear piercing. The employee placed the dot and I told her I wanted it higher. She moved the dot and I was happy with the placement, until she pierced it on the original marking.I was in a lot of pain and didnt notice till I got to the car. I had already been there 2+ hours and did not want to go back inside.Overall a pricey place to get pierced, make sure you watch carefully where they end up piercing you. All previous piercings Ive received at this location were professionally and quickly done.Edit- updated review, had a tragus piercing done, had to come back for the bar to be replaced in two months, was asked to pay for the bar AND install fee, and in another two months the $40 gem top I bought was gone. Had to return for a third time to purchase yet another top and post to replace the jewelry AGAIN.Asked to speak to Brent and was told that the person I was speaking to was the customer service manager and handled things the way Brent would like.Was refused any discount or waive on fees, despite spending about 3x the cost I should have paid. 0/10 do not recommend as both the service and quality has steadily declined over the years. Will not be returning in the future.

Went for a ear piercing and waited over 1 and 20 mins while it seemed like the workers just walked around doing nothing... Never come back here

I left crying…My scheduled appt was at 1:15, and I was seen almost 40 mins later than that. When they did take me back for a jewelry insertion, I mentioned that I was scared and this was my first piercing. Jessie the piercer said don’t worry and started the process without even talking me through the procedure. I started tearing up because it started hurting a lot, and they didn’t talk to me at all, just continued the procedure. Once it was done, I was distraught and sobbing from the pain and just shocked at how fast it was over. They didn’t even address the situation or ask me if I was alright. They just waited in the corner for me to leave the room. The job was done quickly, but the lack of care is ridiculous. I will not coming back to this store.

The atmosphere is relaxing and the employees are professional and amazing at what they do! My daughter and I initially went in for an industrial piercing and since they are thorough with how they do things, they measured her ear and realized she wasnt able to get it due to the chance of tearing afterwards. They gave other options so that we didnt leave unsatisfied and my daughter got flat cartilage piercings done. We are completely satisfied with the outcome and will be back soon for more!!

Ive gotten two separate cartilage piercings done by two different artists and both went very well! there were lots of different jewelry options for all styles. They cleaned everything very well and I experienced little to no pain during either piercing. If I ever think about getting another piercing done, I will definitely come to Avant-Garde again!

Got my bottom lip vertical labret in 2019, had no issues with healing (actually it healed better than any of my other piercings)it was freehand, showing the skill the piercer has. it is straight and lines up with my face despite having an uneven structure. the center of my lip relaxed is different than the center of my two front teeth, but the piercer notified me of why the placement was chosen the way it was and i’m very glad i trusted their advice.i even took it out for over a year after FULL healing and was able to stretch the piercing back open with little struggle and painpainless as far as piercings go, and overall a great experience. it’s the only piercing i have that isn’t done by the shop i live by in Reno and i love the product.affordable, sterile, comfortable, and nice staff.

I went here because I was excited to see they had a decent selection of plugs. I got there. I chose the ones I liked. Clearly marked everywhere within the case is $25. I was charged $52. Apparently they sell plugs one-by-one. Not only is this a scam, its dishonest. Very disappointed. On top of being double charged for a single pair of earrings, one of them has a flaw in it. So Im dissatisfied.

Had an appt for my 17 year old daughter to get her nose pierced today. It said $50 online and the bill when we arrived was $150. Can someone explain why? For a little nose piercing? Appointment was also scheduled for 12:45 and we are still waiting a half hour later. Never again

I’ve only ever gone to avant garde for my piercings… i got a tongue piercing done tonight, and i was so impressed with sage! he was super nice, very thorough & explained clearly what was going to happen. the placement was perfect and he made it as painless as possible! he answered all of my questions & was super thorough with aftercare instructions. so happy with this piercing. thank you, sage!

Before heading to Avant-Garde I decided to call and speak with a sales representatives in regards to my potential visit. The person on the phone stated that they had openings, and I could come in for a paid piercing consultation anytime before 9pm. So I went in for a paid piercing consultation in regards to my naval piercing because I had some concerns as to why it hasn’t been healing properly. I unfortunately did not go to Avant-Garde to receive this piercing in particular but I have gotten a few others done there and had an amazing experience. But this time was not like the others, the lady who took down my information for the consultation was absolutely amazing but the gentleman man who I believe to be the owner came out to get me for the consultation; and rather than speaking with me in private about my concerns and reason for my visit he continued to speak loudly and rudely to me in front of other customers and simply invalidate my concerns. I still would have liked to receive a professionals opinion in regards to this piercing but it seemed as if he wanted nothing to do with me or my visit so I politely said thank you and left. I’m not sure if the gentleman was just having a bad day but it seemed to come off as microaggressions to me and unfortunately because of this experience I will no longer be shopping at Avant- Garde.

My daughter has gotten 3 piercings now from here and everyone of them have been such a great experience!! Love the staff and how educational they are. She got her belly button, ears and snake bites done.

STOP DONT COME HERE FOR PIERCINGS. STOP.Took almost 2 months of setting appts, and being rescheduled to actually get in. Website shows earlobs starting around 35 ish in price. Sounded great.We even set an appointment and still waited 45 minutes just to get in the room. From in til out 1 hr 2 minutes. They welcome all those that they CHOSE to welcome. Dont even try to schedule appointments. Its still going to waste your time.After both earlobes got pierced. My neice paid 145$They charge for earring and BACK OF the earring on the neometals. Meaning that 40-60 ear piercing u hoped for, double that. Maybe triple it, and then your on their level. THEY HAVE A FEW options for earlobes, but then say there out of most. Or only have just the 1 and we needed 2. .I Highly recommend Kapow ink. They take walk ins. There service was great. In and out in half hour with someone in front of us and only 1 piercer in shop.-.-Overall experience for my family and friends. Not worth it.Do.Not.Go.Here .Waste of money. I had a disappointing experience recently. I bought some stone plugs that i thought were pretty clear! When i went to try them on in my car they were way more blue than expected. I went back in and just wanted an exchange . They wouldn’t work with me and now im out 50 dollars on plugs im not satisfied with and will not wear.

Brought my daughter in to get her nose pierced for her birthday. The people working the register were friendly, but the woman (pink hair) who pierced her nose was so cold, short with us, and appeared to be annoyed. She made what should have been a fun and exciting experience uncomfortable. We tried to compliment her and “kill her with kindness” to get her to warm up to us, but she remained cold towards us which added to the nervousness involved with getting a first time piercing. She didn’t explain anything she was doing, or talk about aftercare. We had to ask. Left there with questions we didn’t feel we could ask. It doesn’t add extra time to the appointment to smile and show kindness. You should host a customer service class for your employees to help improve your customers’ experience, customer reviews, and the likelihood people will recommend and/or return to your establishment. Just a thought.

Smooth and easy process. Arrived 20 minutes early for appointment (Tuesday afternoon), picked out earing, completed paperwork and paid. Appoinment happened right as scheduled and cartilage piercing only took 10 minutes.

I had my nose pierced yesterday (7/15) and could not have asked for a better experience. Booking my appointment online was very easy and upon arrival staff were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. My piercer was friendly, efficient, and professional. She explained everything she was doing and thoroughly answered all my questions. I have no doubt that if I have any issues with the healing process, they will be there to help. I highly recommend Avant Garde for any of your piercing needs.

Got almost all my piercing here. They are always nice but to the point!. Love them all! TyGot more done, still love everyone there and they are all honest and helpful.

I emailed first and got a response back the next day, then when I was ready to come in the wonderful ladies at the jewelry counters, cant remember who I spoke with but she was excellent. Very nice and helpful staff. Then the owner did my piercing such a pleasant person very personable, knowledgable, made me feel so comfortable. This is by far best customer experience all 2022 for me. It was really busy for a Wednesday but they handled my walk in and all appointments while I was there in a timely manner. I cannot rave enough about them, Im going back this weekend with my child!

Got my 2nd lobe and cartilage piercing done in June 2023 and about 3 days later my ears started to get infected. I avoided sleeping on my sides to make sure this would not happen as per the instructions and did everything as I should. Every time I went in because they were swelling they put a flat back to try to help but every time I went it was always money coming out my pocket and didnt change them unless they did it. We are now in August 2023 and I still have a decent size ball in my right ear still hurts. I am mostly mad that after paying so much money in the end I just decided to take them all out today. The pain is not worth it. Dont think I will be going back, probably will just get a gun piercing, cheaper and will not have a problem. The staff was nice though.

They charged me $28 just to put a retaining ball in my earring

I was told the wait time for walk ins was 30-45 minutes. I ended up waiting 2.5 hours - which is fine, I chose to take that risk and knew the estimated wait time was not guaranteed. However, after finally being called back, the piercer (Jessie) did not greet me or even introduce herself or explain proper care. She seemed bothered that I asked her to change the dot on my nose. This was my 3rd time getting my nose pierced and she was very rough. She did not explain what she was doing at all. The longest sentence she said was “just a little bit of soap and water will do”. Everyone else was very nice, but I wish they were honest with their wait times. Everyone who called on the phone was told the wait time was 30-45 minutes - which clearly was not true.

My child went for basic lobe piercing. We walked in the day before to check out the store and it had a very nice vibe to it. The staff were all very, very kind and pleasant to us. The day of, my child was a bit nervous and they offered to do both ear st the same time and that was perfect for my kid. They also walked them thru step by step what they were doing and clarified. My kid then later recommended Avant-Garde to their friend looking to get their ears pierced. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Worst experience of my life. Went in for them to put an earring in. Cost was $50, wait was over an hour and no one else was in there. And then after she put it in she warned me the earring back was too small and that there will be a lot of swelling. Unbelievably awful experience. Do not go here!

Came in today for a beauty mark piercing -- I was attended to by the apprentice on duty -- I am sad I didnt catch her name. She was so professional and friendly to talk with. I wouldnt have known she was an apprentice; the piercing itself was quick and painless. I hope she sees this as she did a great job.

I used to be a customer here regularly until i moved away and though it would be perfect to get a piercing done while i came home. turns out, they added a COVID Fee despite the fact none of them wore masks or did anything different from before. I was also charged ridiculous fees for stuff that I was not let known before I got pierced, and had to call later to confirm since the price was immensely higher than what i expected. Before, they didn’t charge customers to pay for the insertion of the jewelry that you buy from their own store - now I had to pay $30 for that. In addition to paying for each earring I also paid an additional $15 per earring backing, which is ridiculous since they don’t tell customers there’s a separate price for jewelry backings until check out. Not only was the pricing ridiculous, but the staff member who piercing me completely gaslit me and disrespected my choices when taken back. I have a very intense fear of needles and, as I do with shots, blood drawing, etc., asked the staff member to count down from 3 so I could know when it was coming - otherwise I tense up and get incredibly anxious. The staff member had the gall to tell me no and that it would make me tense up so they were just gonna go for it, as if they know me and my body better than me. As someone who had 15 piercings before this one, I think I know how I cope with getting pierced, and to be completely disregarded and disrespected like that is unacceptable. Additionally, I had to wait 45 minutes because the employees were taking their time and goofing off in between taking people back - and I know this because I could hear them making jokes and laughing and not setting up for the next appointment when they had at least 15 people in the waiting room. Highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Would not recommend getting a navel piercing here. They won’t look at your anatomy prior to the piercing to even tell you if it’ll work and then they will pierce so much skin that it ends up being a surface piercing/high navel. At least in my case.A week after getting the piercing I went back as I was experiencing a lot of pain/redness and they said that the jewelry was to small so they put in a supposedly longer post. 3 weeks later I go to a different piercer as I no longer trust the people at Avant- Garde and find out that It needs to come out as it doesn’t work for my anatomy and it was pierced with so much skin that it’ll never heal.All I wish is that the original piercer did an anatomy scan on me prior to piercing me so I could’ve saved the time and the money.

Paid a lot of money to wait a hour with an appointment. A absolutely terrible experience and they needed to repeirce one of them due to incompetence. Would not recommend to anyone ever.

Ive been getting pierced here for years so when my son wanted his ears pierced I knew this is the place to go. Friendly, inclusive staff and very knowledgeable. I recommend Avant-Garde a trillion times.

Their unprofessional had me waiting 3hrs after the fact I was 2nd and had everyone else cut in front of me and didnt say they were booked for appointments and didnt squeeze me in before the nxt person arrived.

I went there about two weeks ago just to get a different stud and ball for my lip piercing. At first the one lady was very helpful and was helping me decide if I need to go smaller and what not. But as soon as we came up with a game plan she ended up walking away and never came back. So there was another girl behind the counter that was not doing much besides organizing people who had appointments for piercings. So I asked her if she could help me and she completely ignored me. So I asked her again and she made it sound that people with appointments for piercings were more important than somebody that just buying body jewelry (which would of took 5 min to grab what I wanted and pay for my product.) So I asked her how long does she think until I can be helped and she said I’m not sure, I can’t give you that information. So I said are we looking at maybe 20 minutes, half hour to an hour she said yeah could be over an hour but don’t know for sure. I literally knew the exact stud I wanted and the exact ball I wanted. All she had to do was grab it and ring it up. So I ended up walking out and leaving. I will never return to that place again. I always have Bought my body jewelry from there but not no more

Everyone is nice EXCEPT for the heavier set Caucasian lady in the back who does the piercing. I’ve been to this place before and had my left nostril done by the nicest lady when they were at the old location. My second time around I went to get my right nostril pierced and what irked me was how rushed she was. She was clearly trying to get me in and out and was not being gentle or precise at all. My piercings aren’t even even! In all of the times I’ve gotten pierced I’ve never bled and with her I had blood dripping down my face cause she was yanking on the needle while it was in my nose. On top of that she had a bad attitude. Unfortunately I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I got my ears pierced today and the place was very clean and organized, the workers were also very sweet. My family members have gone to this piercing shop before and this was my first time. I got my triples and when he marked the dot they looked very even. As I looked in the mirror after my piercing I couldn’t help but notice that my piercing were very uneven. I thought maybe I was paranoid and nobody else would notice bedsides me or my mom. But my dad as soon as I got home and showed him he said “ your left earring looks was lower than your right” keep in mind my father knows nothing about piercings and even he could tell. I was super excited to get my triples done but now I’m very disappointed. Not to mention that the app said very slow and we still waited over 50 minutes.

Last time I was here it was a five star experience tho this time around with a different piercer it was far from - first I had to practically argue to get even some semblance of what I wanted (just a few cartilage piercings), all the while they just had a terrible attitude, simply staring when I had asked a question instead of saying anything. After it was done, one of the piercings was crooked and had to be redone, which would have been fine, but the redone piercing is still crooked :/ not an experience Id like to repeat

I haven’t been to Avant Garde since they moved! I was really impressed when I stopped in today. The ladies at the front were very helpful. Brent and Kaitlynn were professional, and easy to talk to. I came in for a few earlobe and cartilage piercings and they were knowledgeable, and informative. I will definitely recommend your location to others and would come back in the future. I got my nose pierced here about 2 months ago and I was incredibly impressed by both the staff friendliness and the quality of my piercing experience! The staff is intentional and thoughtful in their services! You can expect a wait because they are trying to stay open amidst a pandemic and staff shortages, so go ahead and bring some work to do while you wait - It is 100% worth it!

I was a walk-in on a Saturday with their schedule fully booked, from entering to exit it took 2 hours. Great service, amazing piercer, nice clean inclusive bathrooms. Once it was my turn I was back out within 5 minutes.Customer order of getting pierced seemed all over the place.

I came into the shop just to purchase a pair of earrings for my tragus piercings. I thought it would have been quick; in and out. Nope! I waited 40 mins for them to measure my ears for the post size and then they rang me up… $96 for a pair of earrings! What?!! I was shocked! I have never paid that much for a pair of earrings ever! They said they charge for the tops and posts for each earring. No thank you. Will not come here to purchase earrings again.

I went for a walk in appointment to get a mid-helix ear piercing. Upon filling out all the proper paperwork and discussing with workers behind the register, who had no issue or negative opinion about the service I requested, I went to receive my piercing in which the piercer marked my ear for a typical helix piercing on my upper cartilage of my ear. I was confused and mentioned that I had asked if a mid-helix piercing could be done. They told me that they did not recommend that I get the piercing due to their own personal experience with the healing process and refused to give me the piercing I had requested. I was not informed in any of the paperwork I had completed that the piercer would essentially choose what they thought was best for me and I have never experienced this at other places where I have received piercings. I have social anxiety and felt extremely uncomfortable in the environment, also because I was in the room alone with this piercer who adamantly stated that they would not do the piercing I requested. They did not explain if there was a anatomy issue or other complication as to why this could not be done, and that is why I remain upset with this. I accepted the situation and now have the piercing as I felt it was disrespectful to exit the situation at the time as I had thought that it was responsible as I had already taken up some of their time, but looking back I wish I had the self respect to do so. The piercing has healed well other than a healing bump that has yet to shrink. I like the piercing that I have, but I am so uncomfortable by the treatment I received that day. As well as the cost being predicted to me at half the price that I paid when I asked ahead of time. I understand PPE costs and other factors, however these things were not communicated until I was expected to pay after receiving a piercing I was pressured into getting by the piercer themself, instead of what I had wanted, especially as I was not provided with an explanation as to why. I am disappointed by how I was treated by the piercer and do not think I will be going back for any other services here.Edit: the piercing was performed by Jessie

Had an appointment to get my daith pierced today and it was awesome. Clean, professional, piercer (Jessie) was really cool and did a great job. This is my 10th piercing so I do have a little experience getting them. Cost me about $50 including jewelry. Couldn’t be happier with Avant Garde and I will definitely be back :)

From the minute I walked in to when I left everyone was very friendly and professional. Place was extremely clean and was virtually painless. The piercer was great! If you are having second thoughts about this place because of a few bad reviews about wait times please ignore them! I dont leave reviews ever but after tonights experience I feel like I have to. I got my nose pierced at another place on Saturday and have been having issues the past two days with the piercing. She pierced me with a nose bone stud. The end of the stud kept going into my nostril and I had to keep pushing it back in which was painful and causing a lot of redness and swelling. I met with Brent and he went over everything with me in great detail. He put a new proper piece of jewelry in my nose and in just a few hours my redness is already down. He was so nice and answered all my questions. I didnt feel rushed and he made me feel very comfortable and at ease. The ladies at the front desk were so nice and extremely helpful. If you want a piercing done properly go here! It really is worth the wait! Thank you again for fixing and saving my nose piercing. I will definitely be back!

It seems like there are a lot of reviews about the attitude of the staff, but I didnt have that bad experience at all. I had gotten pierced at Avant Garde as a teen and knew when my daughter was ready to get her ears done, wed go there. I made an appointment several months ago (mostly because she was wishy washy about getting them pierced and that way we had plenty of time to cancel if need be - looks like theyre booking about a month out now). The front desk staff was SUPER friendly and nice. There were quite a few people sitting around waiting, but we got in at our appt time, right after we finished picking out jewelry and signing forms. The piercer wasnt as friendly as the front end staff, but they werent rude or anything, just kind of quiet/abrupt. Either way they did a great job on my daughters ears and thats all I really care about. Love the new location, its much bigger and more piercing rooms. All in all we were in and out in probably half an hour and my daughter is thrilled about her ears.

Got pierced here, I seen the negative reviews and regardless decided to go. Wait time was a while I understand I was a walk in so it was understandable, although when I went back for a consultation out of concern for my piercings the piercer was extremely rude, when I was being nothing but polite and kind from when I was called in. She immediately came at me side ways and jumped to conclusions, and became flat out rude, I wish I could’ve caught her name. She called in the manager was polite and extremely professional and answered all my questions without the aggression and attitude she did, I’ll never go back, I do not recommend going here. Let alone the rude employee it’s pretty pricey. Extremely recommend to go somewhere else.

Wayyyy over priced!! Long story short I got my nose pierced here and it had the weirdest placement ever, and she said it had to be like that because of my nose shape. Which turned out to be wrong because after letting that piercing close up, I got it pierced in the correct place. I say find a place other than this.

The wait is ridiculous and I understand the no refund on jewlery but for the money I paid to have them put the jewelry in should be refunded if I cant wait any longer. Why would I take a gift certificate to wait another hour to get a piece of jewelry put in. Ridiculous. However the employee who helped me pick out the jewlery was great. She was very very helpful.

I got my daith changed here when I was 17 and they said that the measurements of my earring was weird because I got it done in Illinois. They measured it about ten times and eventually got Brent to measure it, not a problem. The customer service was not very nice and a lot of the people were unfriendly towards me. I got my nose pierced here back in April when I turned 18 knowing of my previous experience. I was scared because I had never gotten a face piercing before and Brent brought me to the back and was ready to pierce me. All he said was hello and didn’t offer much conversation. I waited for almost an hour to get pierced even though I showed up early to my appointment. Five days ago, now January, I went to get my hoop changed and the selection was very small. The woman at the front said that I could get my nose stretched to get a better selection of jewelry which was strange. I picked one that was my size (there were only two) and it was a blue hoop that had a ball on it. Today I was sitting on the couch and the ball randomly fell off. Not sure if Brent didn’t put it on right or what, maybe it was loose? but I’m very disappointed. I paid 30$ for them to put a hoop in that lasted for five days (and the jewelry was 10) I called for them to put it back in and their phone said they’re closed even though it was 3 pm and the website said they were open. Needless to say i won’t be coming back here because of the unnecessary wait times, the rude staff, and the fact that my nose ring fell apart in five days. Read the reviews before coming here.

Ive had 20+ piercings done at avant garde. yes their services are expensive, but you absolutely pay for what you get here. their work is fantastic and all of the employees are extremely knowledgeable about body modification. the appointment rooms are doctors office levels of sterile.i cant recommend this place enough. they go to huge lengths to make sure you know that youre in the best hands possible.

I had a nose piercing changed here and everyone was fantastic! They sized my nose to make sure the bar wouldnt be too long or short and helped me pick out the perfect size. Brent is amazing and so professional. You can tell hes passionate about his work. The front staff were very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!

Took my teenage daughter in to get her ears pierced. We walked in, and someone was able to help us right away. After my daughter selected earrings and we checked out, we only had to wait a few minutes before a piercer was available.I called first to see if they were taking walk-ins. The person I spoke with on the phone was really nice. She said that walk-ins were welcome, but they (understandably) couldnt guarantee how long the wait would be.My only prior experience with piercing was at a couple of places in the mall. This was so much better than that. They took her into a procedure room which is similar to a doctors office. The piercer, Sage, did a really good job at putting my daughter at ease.The price was very reasonable also -- we paid about $65, including the earrings. We paid more than that when my other daughter got hers pierced at a kiosk near the food court at Mayfair. Also, Avant-Garde didnt try to upsell us or make us buy special cleaning solution.Also, it looks like at least one of the staff members knows sign language. As a hearing person I never really think about that, but it was really nice to see that person communicating via sign language with a customer.Some of the staff members have name tags with their pronouns on them, and there is a sign posted saying that if your preferred name or pronouns dont match what your ID says to just let them know.I would definitely go back here if I wanted to get any piercings.

My wife has an eyebrow ring which came loose and I was unable to attach the ball. We went and asked the staff consisting of three women if they could screw on the ball. Without hesitation, they could but would charge a service fee of $18.00. I was shocked and really $18.00 for what would be 5 seconds of customer service and I use that term loosely.My wife wanted to purchase a longer , I believe s 3/8 bar for $12.00 and then to have them put in the new bar was a separate service fee of $18.00. To be honest, I understand the cost of doing business, but the apparent lack of customer service was embarrassing.My wife wanted her tongue re pierced but after this experience, I will never do business with this establishment again.A simple gesture would have gained s repeat customer.

Took my daughter to get her ear pierced. She is very happy. Brent did a wonderful job . Made her comfortable and relaxed! Very sweet and very professional. Prices are unbeatable. Highly recommend. Super clean and everyone is nice. We will be back.

My son got his ear lobes pierced here and we were impressed by the ability to come back for “consultation” if anything were to go wrong with the job. There were not many options for jewelry and the ones we chose were cheap and the nickel in the earrings caused an infection. I called the store after the right lobe piercing closed and I was told to come in. We took the young lady’s advice and came in but that’s where the one star service kicked in. The consultation was a joke and they are doom and gloom about any advice they give. It’s borderline comical.The young lady at the front desk has an unnecessary level of sarcasm disguised as customer service. We waited over two hours because we weren’t told the wait would be that long and eventually left. We trusted that they would treat us with respect as returning customers but that was our first mistake. The rub is, they make you pay before even giving any service and will not give refunds for any reason. I brought in a pair of natural diamonds and was told they couldn’t be used so that I had to buy their cheap inventory. Bottom line…they seem hard up for money or something and they are severely understaffed. I spent $65 dollars for one lobe piercing and a pair of cheap earrings and didn’t get ANY service. I was blamed for not know they were busy. There must be better places. I will not go back to this thirsty establishment.

Got my nipples pierced here about a year and a half ago, was very fast and the girl who pierced me made me feel welcomed and relaxed. Had a little trouble due to the way I was sleeping and went in for an appointment to get one of them checked out. The owner Brent ended up helping me, he was very informative and helped comfort me that it would be perfectly fine. He gave me solid advice, and I’m happy to say it has helped me tremendously! Whatever you may need that’s piercing related, I highly recommend stopping here!! In my experience, I’ve always gotten super good service, and I plan to go in for another nose piercing soon!

Avant Garde is a nice place clean professional. But the price is ridiculous! I cant believe its all inflation Ive had other piercings done including my nose ($95 was way too much!) I know I should have asked if it was because of the jewelry I chose. It would have been bexcellantcustomer service if she said something before ringing it up. The piercer was very nice her room was clean. Made just the right amount of small talk. She I would recommend in a heartbeat. The shop and their prices no. If a shop doesnt have prices posted for piercing or tattoos they can and will charge you for whatever they think they can get out of you. Thats how it felt. I just wanted a simple post with a small clear gemstone.

I brought my 13 year old daughter into walk in today for her 1st lobe piercing on each ear. We were treated kindly and the front staff were very knowledgeable. We did have to wait a bit as it’s was busy, but expected being a walk in. We were brought back for the piercing. I am sorry I am not sure who it was that did my daughter’s ears. My daughter is sensitive to alcohol so the piercer had the owner come in to make sure she would be ok with the alcohol swab. We felt confident that she would. The piercer was very kind and explained everything to my daughter. She did the 1st ear and my daughter was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t hurt. Same with the 2nd ear. We had a very good experience and I’d definitely recommend Avant-Garde.

No matter what piercing you are looking for, Avant-garde is the only place you should go! The piercers here are very talented and very professional (Jessie is awesome!) This isnt a tattoo parlour with piercing as a side hustle; these folks are specially trained to give you the best quality piercings! I have been going here for 20 years, and I will never go anywhere else!!! (Neither should you) 10/10 highly recommend! You will love it!

Knowledgeable staff and an awesome piercer took care of my step-daughter. I came in as a walk in and was taken care of right away. We only waited 20min and everything was done. Also the prices are very reasonable at $47 for a lip pierced with everything included. Thank you for treating her well. I will definitely be coming back again.

Very impressed with everything about this place. I came in to get my nipples pierced and the receptionist spent nearly 15 minutes helping me find jewelry that wouldnt irritate my nickel sensitivity but was within my budget. The piercer was super professional as well and gave clear instructions for aftercare. Everything was clean and the pain from the piercings was pretty minimal.Ill definitely go back for future piercings.

Successfully left with foreign objects poked into my body.In seriousness, I got an industrial piercing and was impressed with the whole process. Employees were knowledgeable and put me at ease. The store seems clean and I preferred that it was not cluttered and did not feel creepy. The fish tank in the lobby is calming, which was nice as I was a bit nervous. I appreciated that someone measured my ear to make sure it was even advisable to get this piercing. I had to wait a bit longer because of that, but Id rather wait to make sure its done right.The piercer took her time to educate me on caring for the piercing, and I like that they say to contact them with any issues or questions. You dont just get rushed out the door.

We went in to get a septum piercing and they were out of the horse shoe jewelry. I understand that things happen but a call ahead would have been nice to let us know that we wouldn’t be able to get what we wanted that day.We arrived on time for our appointment and didn’t even speak to anyone for about 20min after our appointment was scheduled for. Still not the problem, things happen.The issue lies with the horrible customer service we received in our time there. A worked named “Dana” was rude from the moment she first talked to us. She rudely informed us that they only had seamless piercings left. Mid conversation she just left to go ask another worker for keys. When I asked if I could keep the disclaimer form with MY INFORMATION on it she harshly told me that I would not be able to take it and she would shred it for me. I get that but it’s my personal information and they weren’t piercing me so they had no need to have it.I don’t know if it was because we were young or people of color but we were treated like second class citizens and not welcome. At the end of the day Avant-Garde is a business and we are potential paying customers. We were nothing but respectful and understanding. While I understand there are good days and bad days it’s no excuse to treat customers coldly and with contempt.

They wouldn’t let the guardian and a step-mom into the room despite their website telling the following “ Children 12 years of age or younger may have procedures performed and will be permitted to bring two (2) adults including the child’s parent or guardian with them to their procedure appointment “ Both biological parents were present and giving permission for me and the child’s mom (one of her legal guardians) to accompany her.This was told to us very rudely and then the staff had an attitude with us for pointing it out.On top of that, they incorrectly set up the procedure room and then when we corrected them about the order of who was getting pierced, they argued with us. We asked before we booked if I could get pierced first so the child could see it get done since she wanted to feel prepared. We were told multiple times that this would be ok.We have been planning this for over a year. I am the childs step-parent. I booked this appointment and it was something that the child and I were doing together. The minor child was very disappointed that I was not allowed back with her. The plan was for us to get piercings together. She wanted me to experience it with her.All around, it was a terrible experience. Very disappointing. We had options on places to go and we unfortunately chose wrong.I advise anyone to go elsewhere.

I was so terrified to get my septum pierced after seeing how big it was!! But Mackenzie definitely made the whole experience EXTREMELY smooth. Will definitely go back for more ☺️ I recommend you schedule an appointment if possible instead of walking in, it’s so much faster. The staff there were so sweet and helpful. I loved their attitude towards the customers and each other. 6/5 stars if possible. Thanks so much!

Absolutely horrible customer service; if I could give zero stars I would. I went in to get an industrial bar (the jewelry) and first off the cashier was rude to begin with when I had a couple questions. Then when I figured out what I wanted she measured my original one to make sure itd match up length wise. She assures me its correct; I pay the $14 then as Im still in the store and the new jewelry is still in its bag I notice it is not the right size. I tell her and she first doubts me then remeasures and sees Im right. She goes to get the right size and comes back to tell me that they dont have that one in stock but they have a $20 one. Im looking at it and decide Id really rather just get my money back because I didnt plan on paying $6 more because they were out of stock on the one I purchased. They refused my refund and made me pay the additional charge. I tried to reason with them, saying it wasnt really fair because it was them that screwed up, but they would not budge. I understand their policy, but I should think that they could make an exception when it was out of my control and completely their fault. Especially when the jewelry never left the bag or store. Ive gotten a few piercings from here and liked them. Its too bad the cashiers and managers ruined it for the piercers because I wont be back. I will be telling my friends and family the same.

The piercers here are super professional and clean. I had my nose pierced here twice. The reason why I gave them 3 stars was because of the girl who is working the front. She seemed so unwelcoming and gave me such an uncomfortable feeling.We called in to see if they are accepting walk-ins and the man on the phone told us to come on down. We also asked if we needed to schedule and appointment. He told us it’s first come first serve type of deal, according to him. We headed down and we arrived at 7:15pm. No one was in the front, so patiently browsed and waited. 8:05pm: the girl comes walking in. Looks at us, no word spoken, my fiancé walks up and tell her he wanted his septum pierced. She rings him up and tells him there an extra charge. BEWARE: they charge for coming in an hour before they close. We understood but annoyed since we were there before 8pm. So forth, he gets his septum and we leave.The next day, I decided I wanted to get my septum done. It’s 6pm and online it states it closes at 9pm. I walk in, same girl, she looks me up and down. I tell I want my septum done, says not today. I looked confused and she says they’re booked until October! I was just in there yesterday and was told it was walk in only! I walked out and went to Body Ritual instead. It was a whole lot cheaper and the vibe was much more comfortable.Overall for AG:10/10 professional piercing0/10 customer serviceThey need more friendlier people

The front end staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Especially the two girls that were working at the front counter that helped us with paperwork and jewelry. However everyone after that point was fairly rude and short. I had made an appointment for a bridge piercing while fully knowing they would check the area to make sure I had the correct anatomy for the piercing. I would not have even decided on getting this type of piercing if I wasn’t sure that I did in fact have the correct anatomy for it. I had done my research and have many other types of basic and advanced piercings. So the owner came out to look at my bridge and proceeded to ask me a few basic questions about whether or not I wear glasses. I do not and tried to reassure him it wouldn’t be an issue. But he used the fact that I sometimes wear sunglasses (like most other people?) to try and convince me not to get the piercing. Then he poked at the area for a few seconds and decided that I DO NOT have the anatomy for it and again said I should not get the piercing. I got annoyed and wasn’t going to argue with him and just decided to get my other nostril done instead. The price of this very basic piercing was insane. It cost me $98 for the piercing and the simple silver post and top. I did not pick out anything fancy or precious. They eventually called my name and I went back to the private room to meet my piercer. They were very short with me and not personable at all. I was trying to explain to them that the last time I was here I had my other nostril done and really wanted them to be even. The piercer responded with “Well I don’t have to look at it everyday so it doesn’t bother me.” I’m sorry but it came off extremely rude and we didn’t appreciate the attitude. I have had 7 piercings done here as well as brought many of my friends here for their first piercings and we always seem to have small issues here or there but this was the cherry on top. I will NEVER come back here for a piercing ever again. After leaving I went to my tattoo shop for a second opinion from their piercer and she said my anatomy for it was fine and we did my bridge piercing with no complications. The piercing looks fantastic and I was only charged $56 including the jewelry. They were also doing nostril piercings for $31 and I feel completely jipped. I wish I had just gone to them in the first place.EDIT: The owners response to my review only further proves how this shop is arrogant and rude. You think the piercer I went to that actually treated me well and did an amazing job isn’t getting paid a livable wage? Get your head out of the clouds and think about how your people are treating clients. I’d of been happy to pay the higher cost for a good experience but unfortunately the cost of the service well outweighed the disappointing time I had while there. Your “20+ years of experience” mean nothing when you are rude and make up any excuse to turn away people wanting anything other than basic and easily done piercings. You tried to do the same thing to me when I came in for a dermal and told me wearing a mask would rip it out and that I shouldn’t get it done. There are plenty of talented piercers in the community who can do the exact same thing but with a smile and where clients feel welcome. If you’re reading this and considering going here for piercings I’d strongly recommend doing your research into the other shops in the area. You’ll likely have more fun and still find a highly talented and knowledgeable piercer!!Update: It’s been over a year since getting my bridge pierced. It’s a fantastically done piercing and I have never had any complications with healing. Do not go here for anything other than a basic ear piercing, and even then you’ll be met with rude customer service, high price points, and arrogance.

So happy this place is still open and doing well. I got my belly button pierced here 11 years ago and I have never changed my jewelry, I still have the original one in and its amazing. I love it and the memory it holds. Hope to visit again soon. So professional!

I go here for all my piercing needs!Every single person there is knowledgeable, kind and thoughtful.They have great selection of jewelry, pretty fair price on it too!The wait can be anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 depending on the day. But they have 2 couches which makes the wait okay! The piercing takes place in a separate part of the shop that is closed off. Its very clean, well lit and is a comfortable atmosphere.The piercers take their time with each client and ensure all questions are answered. The owner is almost always there too!I was a huge wuss about my septum and I didnt feel judged, which i appreciated.All the gold stars for this place!

There was a line of people, but I didnt have to wait too long. It gave me time to look at the jewelry and relax. When I got in to be pierced I was happy it was a female, even though it was just for my nose. She was very friendly and took her time. She didnt make me feel rushed at all. It was almost like a doctors appointment. She made sure I loved where the spot was. She gave me a few options and didnt pressure me at all. Great experience, super knowledgeable and honest. They will always tell you the right thing even if its not what you want to hear but I promise its for the best. They want your piercing to heal properly and will give you advice based this rather than cater to impatient people who want to swap jewelry sooner than recommended. The staff is always friendly from the front desk to the piercer regardless of who it is. Excellent staff, business establishment and practice. I plan on being a regular.

I went here for the 1st time with my lady who wanted a piercing. The 1st annoyance on this visit was when I was told that I couldnt be inside with her unless I was getting a piercing myself. Im sure this may have to do with covid, but thats questionable. So here I go, sitting in my car, waiting. After shes speaks with the sales person about her piercing for 5 to10 minutes, she comes back out to the car and tells me there is a half hour wait. She will be called when they are ready for her. 2nd and biggest annoyance is that after they call and say they are ready, my lady goes inside and stand there for an additional 10 to 15 minutes before being called back for the piercing. So, waiting and hour to get a service done that takes no more than 5 minutes is unacceptable. Especially when the place wasnt jammed with customers. The product is possibly fine but the service was not.***Update to “Response from the owner”As anyone with common sense can see by the response to my review, this business lacks professionalism. This was not a personal review, so a personal response or should I say attack, wasn’t warranted. It’s obvious that the person who responded has no customer service training at all. I suggest it!The purpose of my review was simply to inform people of what type of service to expect from this establishment. Based on my personal, detailed experience.A wait time should be expected when arriving anywhere without an appointment. Making someone wait an additional 15 minutes with no acknowledgement or explanation, after saying you’re ready for them is unacceptable. Making up reasons/excuses now simply shows additional traits of being incorrigible and condescending. Your apology is garbage for that reason alone. Ordered jewelry here last year. They said because of covid to expect an 8-12 week wait. I called in after 10 weeks they didnt have my order in. I continued to call back every couple of weeks for about 2-3 months. Depending on who i got on the phone they were either very nice and understanding or very rude. Well its been over a year later and it never came in/they never called and they wouldnt to give me a refund because of a waiver i signed. Ultimately it wasnt that expensive and continuing to hound them about it wasnt worth it to me. i dont even know if they ever really placed my order. All in all i found this shop very unprofessional and frustrating! Would not go again and would never recommend to a friend

Brent did an excellent job. I love the work he did for me! The shop was very clean and Brent answered all my questions. It was clear that he has done his homework and kept up to date on current information. He really seemed to care about my comfort and was very approachable. The store has a lot of pretty, high quality jewelry in stock. I would certainly go here again.

UPDATEApril 2022 (1-star):I wanted my 2nd set of lobes pierced. I waited 1.5 hours for my appointment. The next day they were very lopsided (left side was 1/8 higher than the right), and i was told to come in for a consultation. I waited two hours for my consultation to be told they wont know if its lopsided or just swelling for six more days. Made an appointment, went in six days later, waited over an hour to confirm its lopsided and come back in two weeks. Two weeks later and an hour wait i was told they didnt like the earing back i brought and refused to do the re-piercing. They dont sell backings so i was told i could buy new jewelry or come back as a walk-in. I agreed to buy new jewelry for the backing.At this point i had waited 3 weeks from an improper piercing, driven 4 hours total (30 minutes one way), and a total of 6+ hours waiting in the store. I left for the last time not feeling happy about my experience in any way. I was bullied, patronized, disrespected, and dont plan on ever going back to this establishment.August 2021 (3-stars)Bad experience. This was my first adult piercing (ear piercings as a pre-teen) and I chose a nostril piercing. I desperately wanted to leave a positive review because I loved the professional sterile setting and the jewelry is beautiful. I saw myself going back for future piercings. The piercer was also professional and polite.Avante-Gardes pitfall is the employees running point on customer service.First mistake: Customer information. Telling a customer the wait time is 30 minutes over the phone and if I arrived within the next 30 minutes Id pretty much have no wait, but not being able to schedule an official appointment.Second mistake: No directions. Not a single employee anywhere in sight when I first walked in. Standing there with no idea what I needed to do or who to talk to and no signs indicating procedure or bells/ buttons to call for an employee.Third mistake: Lack of training. I had questions about the paperwork but the employee gave vague unhelpful answers. I asked about different nostril piercing styles, pros and cons, if others found one to be better for healing, etc and the employee kept saying its personal preference. I got the feeling she had no clue.Fourth mistake: Poor planning. The call system is great. It allows customers to go run errands, grab a bite etc and simply receive a call when theyre up next. However, it falls short in practice. When I received my call 1.5 hours after paying I was back within 4 minutes and proceeded to wait. It was only after 30 minutes passed I finally flagged down an employee for an explanation. The employee mumbled some excuses and walked away. I waited another 1.5 hours. Thats 3 hours instead of 30 minutes for a 3 minute piercing.Piercing itself: The type of piercing I got was actually a screw when I paid for and asked for an L-bar. Third, apparently the bar was way too long for my nostril and I should come back in 3 weeks for it to be shortened. The constant spinning of the bar in my nose from the bar being too long has irritated my piercing, causing a bump to form. That said the piercer was quick, efficient, and professional.Final thoughts: I think this place has a ton of potential, great atmosphere, and a great layout. But they seem to be short staffed, overwhelmed, and their employees need training on the products they sell, types of piercings, and how to best inform customers to choose the right piercing style for them. There are many ways to improve. From a sign-in sheet for walk-ins, to a stricter call system, to more structure for walk-ins, previous customers, and appointments. My biggest frustration from a small business manager pov is you should never tell a costumer theyre next then have someone go before them. Things happen, but when you tell a customer they are next, you better serve them next.

They only offer dual piercings - two piercers who pierce both ears at the same time (which they recommend for children) on Friday-Sunday. Again, it would be nice if there was information about this on their website, where they encourage you to make an appointment. Apparently, they are currently booked out about a month.The gal who did the attempted piercing for my daughter today was awesome & kind. So, if we go back here, it will be because of her. We’ll make a weekend appointment that we make a month in advance. Because that’s how they roll.

I got my nostril done and I am in love with it! Like with everything there is the good and the bad. While entering the store I felt very unwelcomed by the front counter staff, getting my first body piercing I was extremely nervous and I had a bunch of questions to calm my nerves. I felt me asking the question was a hassle and they just wanted me out of the store as soon as possible. When picking my jewelry I was very disappointed that there was very few selections as they were out of stock on a lot of them. Once again I had questions about having no nickle and she just pointed to the neometal. Not being allowed to have an support person at this time was totally understandable but not having the front desk asking any question or opinions on what they think looked best because they lacked the customer service was a huge let down. Once being called in the back for the actual piercing, the person who pierced me was super personable and super friendly and made me feel super comfortable in 2 minutes as the last hour in the waiting room I felt so uncomfortable. The person who did my piercing was amazing. All in all this place was super clean and I loved how it was just for piercing and not tattoos and piercings. If this would be your first time I would have a hard time recommending it just because of how unfriendly and uncomfortable the front employees made me feel, definitely make an appointment to limit the time you have to sit or interact with the front desk employees.

Never been here before. We were on vacation and wife lost her septum ring do we ran up here to replace it on a locals advice. Walked in and girl was inviting but not overly friendly and seemed put out to help us. While we waited another woman came out and we asked her for her help as the other blew us off; she was much more friendly and helpful. Place is very clean and both piercers were super friendly and quick. Prices are not too bad. Ok amount of selection. Not a lot of natural choices for jewelry. If we lived here fought we would’ve back.

The piercing itself was a breeze! The piercer was professional, fast, and precise. I unfortunately had to take the jewelry out and let it close up because my body wasn’t allowing the piercings to heal. This is a bit of fault on my part for not doing more research on what type of jewelry would work the best for me. I do wish that the person who initially checked me in didn’t steer me away from what I originally wanted but all is good. At the end of the day they are the ones that do this for a living and see many different piercings throughout the day and know what’s best for each person. The piercing as a whole just wasn’t right for me :(

My 2 friends and I went in to all get something done. Customer service was great and the piercer Jennifer was even better. We had a great conversation with her, we talked to her while we were getting our stuff done and it felt pretty painless. Will definitely be coming back again.

This is a clean piercing parlor with really nice staff. The cost will depend on which jewelry you choose for the piercings, but I felt like I paid a fair price for a total of 3 (2 earlobes plus a cartilage piercing). Scheduled appointments schedule out pretty far but if you walk in expect to wait (I came on a Saturday and was told 2-4 hours, they call you when your turn is coming up next - that is totally fair for a walk in wait time on a weekend and they speed it up by getting your jewelry chosen and paperwork signed ahead of time). I see some reviews complaining about the wait or the price, but this isn’t a stand at the mall where they’re piercing your ears with a gun - it’s a professional piercing shop and they do a fantastic job.

I went there with my 2 adult daughters & my 16 year old daughter. We had an appointment for my 16 year old daughter to get a regular ear piercing. I forgot my drivers license in my other purse so I had to run back home & get it. We live about 10 minutes away. My other daughters stayed & picked out her earrings while waiting for me. When I returned there were a lot of walk in customers. I said to my daughter, it’s getting kind of busy maybe we should come back another day? The girl working heard me & said right way, oh Mom do you have your ID now? I said yes & assumed they would be taking us next or very soon.Nope! She was trying to get me to pay for the piercing & stop us from leaving. After I paid for the piercing lots of walk in customers went before us! I asked why we’re waiting so long? She said we lost our appointment & had to wait! My daughters were waiting there the whole time! A 2 minute ear piercing & we had to wait over an hour & a half! Very bad customer service! The girl had a way of speaking politely but being rude at the same time!!! I felt like she was on a power high!

Horrible customer service! Owner is rude and condescending through email, would not tell me the specific measurements of the piercing used on me, I have a right to know! They had no trouble taking all my information but wouldnt help me out when I needed to know, despite the girl working the counter saying how nice it will be since they will have all my piercing info on file. Will not go back or recommend.

Went there for a jewelry change and to have them look at a piercing done elsewhere. I had to make an appointment. The staff was very confused about where to locate jewelry. And then the piercing artist refused to change the jewelry. So I traveled there spent over an hour to find jewelry and then he cant even take my appointment? Oh and you have to book out months in advance to get any sort of service. So disappointed in their service.

Always so great! Ive been coming to them for all my piercings since I turned 18, and Im 25 now! They have done my tongue, nose, industrial, septum, nipples, and as of recently my tragus for the second time! They are always so friendly, clean, and very informative of the piercing you are going to get! They will tell you if a piercing wont work for you, and are always willing to accommodate with another piercing you may want as they did for me! I will continue to come back always!

I love this place. I have been going here for over 15 years and wouldnt want to go anywhere else to get pierced. They are down to one piercer so I had to wait over a month to book an appointment but it was well worth the wait. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the piercer will set your mind at ease and answer any questions in a professional and courteous manner.

My daughter and I came into Avant today we had an 4:30pm & 5:00pm appointment with Brent to have Nose Piercings, Ear Piercings & Her Bellybutton Ring Upgraded. The staff was very friendly, the bathroom was not only clean but smelled clean too! The waiting area was nice and clean and so was the Piercing Areas. Brent was Very Sterile, Professional, and Friendly. He took time and explained step by step what to expect and also the after care for our new piercings. The service was quick and Brent was Awesome! He answered all of my questions. There was a Variety Of Jewelry to choose from, I was so Impressed. I’m glad I found a shop that Specializes in Body Piercings. Highly Recommend!Thanks Brent 💙😉

Got a conch piercing done here awhile back. it mustve been a busier night because the place was packed. staff was very friendly and patient, especially with all the customers in the room. my friend and i got our piercings done in probably less than 10 minutes (the wait was around an hour though..). aftercare instruction was very detailed and helpful! i intend to visit again but the three stars are mostly for visuals and the lack of organization to the jewlery being sold. otherwise good staff that are well trained!

Very clean, super professional and very knowledgeable. I got my daith pierced, which is my first piercing since my ears were pierced as a baby. She explained the process and helped me feel comfortable. It was quick and did not hurt too bad. She gave great instructions for care and cleaning. Highly recommend this place!

After going to a super sketchy piercing place the first time and then coming here, this place was great! All the staff was very helpful and friendly and even everyone in the shop waiting to be pierced was nice! It didnt take long at all, in and out. The piercer was very very nice and super friendly and funny! He made me less nervous by just being so calm and relaxed. He informed me of everything and was very helpful. They had a very large selection of jewelry and everything was very clean and organized. I will for sure be going back for more piercings here. I wouldnt dream of going anywhere else!

I went in to get my medusa piercing yesterday with my boyfriend (who got his septum and earrings done). They were very nice to us even though we were being a little dumb! Sage did my boyfriends ears and he did a really great job on the placement and everything!! My medusa was done by an apprentice: I think her name was Jessie. She had someone in there to help her and they both were really great. I felt really bad that I bled so much and that they had a little fumble with putting the jewelry in. I’m not sure if it was my fault or not but regardless they were both very calm and collected and got everything all fixed really quickly. Overall it was a good experience.

The receptionist was nice the piercing lady was nice as well I had no problems will be going back to get my other piercings

Masks and ID required.I have never had any piercing done before, and I wanted to get my earlobes professionally pierced.Their website showed appointment was booked for the next 2 months. I called and was suggested to try walk-ins if I do not mind waiting but want it done sooner. Since walk-ins are first-come-first-serve and will stop accepting walk-ins by 4-5PM, they recommended that I stop by as early as possible.I arrived 5 minutes after their 11 AM opening. Mask required regardless of immunization status. I was the 4th person in line. The lady at the counter checked me in. She was very friendly, suggested a pair of starter earrings that would work well for my needs, took a copy of my ID, and answered all of my questions I had while I signed the waiver form.While I waited, a 5th person with a noon appointment arrived and she was serviced on time. My turn came after her at around 12:20PM. By then, there were 5-6 people waiting after me.The piercer was Brent, the owner. He was also very friendly, explained the process to me, marked the spots, sanitized the earlobes, and knowing that it was my first time, he made me relax by having small talk during piercing. The procedure was less painful than a flu shot. I was done by 12:30PM with great looking starter earrings! Very satisfied.

I did not have a particular piercer I wanted to see, just called and made an appointment for last Saturday, the process was simple.When we arrived I filled out my paperwork and paid (I felt the price was VERY reasonable, was actually surprised it was not more). Although they had several walk-ins waiting in the lobby I only waited a few minutes and was happy with my wait time.When I was called back Jennifer had all the tools and supplies prepared, she quickly and efficiently lined up her marks and got the piercing done, which I really appreciated since I was a bit nervous! Absolutely love coming here! Ive gotten 3 major piercings done here, the staff is very professional and they do their best to make the process as painless as possible. Though they would benefit from a larger location/more staff, it is no fault of theirs that they are so busy! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone in the West Allis/Milwaukee area.

I got a septum piercing that was pierced through my cartilage and was causing extreme pain and swelling. I got it removed two days later by another piercer because this place was closed. The other piercer informed me that whoever pierced me at Avant Garde had no idea what they were doing as they pierced through the hard part of my cartilage rather than the sweet spot. They had to literally yank the piercing out because it was so deeply embedded in my cartilage.My entire nose is swollen and sore. I called to get a refund and inform them that I was pierced incorrectly, something youd think they care about since they brag about their piercing reputation, and instead the person on the phone was hostile and defensive. They said because it was removed somewhere else EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE CLOSED AND I WAS IN PAIN that they refused to refund me.Go literally anywhere else for a piercing. Not only do their piercers not know or care what theyre doing, these people clearly dont care if they caused you a painful experience. They only care about clinging on to the money you spent.

The piercer took very good care of me! And he was very clean he washed his hands like 8 times, and used all the proper material to pierce my ear. Smelled like I was at the doctors office !He was quick and very talkative which calmed my nerves ,because I was really anxious! My piercing looks great and I will CONTINUE TO GO BACK.A great experience!Side note: book an APPOINTMENT getting in is hard (with walk ins) because there so busy!!! So call ahead would be nice!

DO NOT COME HERE. I’ve been coming here for 8 years and I’ve officially had it. Customer service and quality has gone down drastically over the years. Everything is way overpriced, expect to wait 2-3 hours for a simple piercing, and a $7 fee for PPE? Really?! I understand PPE costs have gone up since the pandemic, but to charge customers for items that should be covered by the shop is extremely unacceptable. Went to body ritual and paid less than half the price I was asked to pay here. I recommend spending your hard earned money at a place that will appreciate your business and not treat you like garbage.

Very nice staff, so clean, good selection of jewelry. I got my septum pierced and overall the whole process was great. I was 10 minutes late to my appointment and they still were just as accommodating and took their time.

This place is straight scamming their customers. I went in today to get a hoop changed out for jewelry that I brought in. Not only was the baseline cost for this switch $12 but they decided to add an additional $8 on top of that for “covid med supply”. I ask the piercer why I’m getting up charged $8 dollars just to get a hoop switched for jewelry I supplied and she said it was due to price surges on PPE. Okay I understand this, but the only PPE she used during my service was a singular pair of gloves……I understand a $3 up charge or maybe an $8 up charge on a service which is using a lot of supplies but this piercer didn’t even use an alcohol swab on me she literally only used gloves and a multi-use tool. Their scamming was even more obvious when she tried to get me to change my jewelry on another piercing for an additional $37. How is the jewelry for my flat gonna add up to $37 for a front and a back piece when I got my triples, cartilage, and flat pierced for around $50 in Appleton, Wi. I also know it’s not due to poor jewelry usage in Appleton because she stated it was the same type of jewelry she wanted me to buy, and my piercings from that store healed just fine! I will never go here ever again they are ridiculous when it comes to pricing and none of it is justified!

The staff is arrogant and rude. Called to schedule an appointment and they said they were too busy so I should go online. Scheduled an appointment online for about a month and a half later only to have appointment canceled by Avant Garde a week before the appointment with no further information. Scheduled another appointment and that was canceled also. Scheduled yet another appointment and called just to confirm the day and time I have is correct and they told me they couldn’t confirm the appointment and I need to find the confirmation email from a month before when the appointment was scheduled. I was a returning customer but I will not give my hard earned money to company that treats customers like they are nothing.

I wasn’t going to elaborate on my experience but reading through your reviews other people have had the same problems. your front desk worker made me so anxious. She called me at 3:52 saying to be there in 10 minutes for my appointment ( been waiting 4 hours already ) I was already outside the front door and walked in at 3:58 and she seated me and then I proceeded to wait there for another hour without her telling me anything about my appointment. Then when I asked her about why I haven’t gone yet she said I “unfortunately was not here on time and so we skipped your spot, and now the piercer went on lunch break” You could tell she was giving me attitude in the tone of her voice. If you knew I didn’t get here on time why would u let me sit there for an hour before telling me? Even though I was there within the 10 minutes she gave me. And I was alone in the shop while nobody got pierced the whole time I was there, I could’ve easily been squeezed in instead of waiting another hour. The piercer is awesome, I’ve gotten all my piercings there but this experience was super frustrating and I’m not sure if I’ll be back :/

This is hands down the most reputable piercing place in Wisconsin. Ive been here three times, and will be returning hopefully soon for another 3 piercings!I experienced next to no pain, I was well informed by the piercer of the procedure, and I had no complications with healing.

They are OK in my book. My wife went here for a piercing - and they did a good job. The nice thing was any time she had an issue, they would always help out.The issue usually had to do with trying to change out the piercing (nose), and not being able to get it back in. She would stop in there, and they would get her in and out in no time - at no charge.They seemed very professional, and the work environment was sterile.

I got a cartilage flat done here and they all were super nice and friendly! It’s also very clean too! I definitely will be coming back in the future!

We did a walk in expecting it to be a few hours because it was a long line, but it was only about a 45 minutes wait. The ladies at the desk where really nice and the lady checking me in made sure what kind of color and style i would like. In the back was really clean and they cleaned and marked it and it went so fast. definitely gonna go here again.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this place and the piercings they do are awesome. Everyone is professional and friendly. However, I called last week about getting more ear piercings and made an appointment for 12:30 today (Sep. 2). I head there today and and see that they’re in the midst of moving locations? I was sooooooooo mad that I wasn’t informed because I missed a big chunk of my school day to be here too. Disappointed this time but I will still be returning because of their good piercing work.

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! It makes your time here super quick! Everyone I met during my appointment was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. I felt safe and that my questions were all answered thoroughly. I will always come here for piercings and always always recommend people here!

I got my conch pierced here and specifically said I wanted to wear a ring in the conch once it healed. The piercing went fine, but when I went back to get the stud changed out for a ring, they told me the ring would have to be huge and -- Im not kidding -- that it would probably look ugly. Yes, the guy used the word ugly. Please dont go here -- you cant trust them to listen to what you want or advise you; if they had told me my ears werent the right size/shape for a conch ring, I never would have gotten it done.EDIT: The owners response to this review is further proof these are not professionals. Im not complaining about the size of my ear -- rather that when I told them I wanted a conch ring (during a free consultation), they went ahead and took my money and put a hole in my ear and only waited until I was ready to put in a ring to tell me -- I repeat -- that it would be ugly. Thats information I would have liked to have before you did the piercing in the first place, ya know?

If i could give this place 2 reviews i would, 5/5 for the piercers and zero stars for the people up front. Its a shame the people upfront are so off putting and rude, because the piercers in the back were always awesome! So friendly and kind. The people up front ruin it every single time. Every time i come in, i’m met with rude employees, last time i wasn’t even able to get a word out before i was hit with straight up attitude.If you can handle horrible customer service, The piercers are amazing and i would say worth it. Never had an issue with them.

We are now letting my 8yr old’s ear piercings close after such a horrible experience here. The holes were not centered on the lobes, and one was so low that it was beginning to tear with simple and small studs. The piercer was not sensitive to my daughter’s fear and nervousness, and it was a traumatic experience for her. All around disappointment, waste of money, and now we have to start over when her ears heal. Do not recommend, especially for children.

Brent is so wonderful. I dont trust anyone else to do my piercings. hes super friendly and Im always comfortable with him. he recently helped me with an infected conch done by someone else and gave me fantastic advice and my ear is healing up already. great selection of jewelry too!

Busy (even on a Tuesday afternoon!), the staff was helpful - I came in to replace a horseshoe ring for my septum piercing. The only thing lacking was communication by the staff to let me know what was the next step and who I was waiting for.... I figured it out but it would have been nice to told what were the next steps.

Oooof these reviews… lolol. it depends on the day i guess, as does anyplace. yes, i waited one hour, which was lengthy, and it was pricier than any other place i’ve gone to for piercings buuuuut it was backed up by knowledge and a clean room soooo i’m not mad about it. very veryyyyy pleased! peace of mind/cleanliness is worth everyyyyy penny. the girls answered allll my questions & helped me out. i enjoyed my piercer-they/them pronoun (wish i caught your name! gold glasses, the walk was to the straight back room… would def have you do the rest of my piercings from here on out, anyways!)so clean! it wasn’t dirty. and it is pricey. buuuut. you pay for everything i mentioned above. don’t pierce yourself at kroger when you can go to sendiks, okkkkkk. you know what i’m saying-worth it!A++++++++++thanks

The only place I really go to for all my piercing needs. Prices are more than fair and the piercers are really knowledgeable on all types of piercings. Place is really laid back and you see all kinds of people here. No need to be worried. The piercers are trained professionals who have seen it all. From the 16 year old who comes in with the parents for a nose or belly button piercing to the rebel who gets a piercing below the waist, they have seen and done it all. Very professional people and I highly recommend them to anyone for any piercing needs.

Great piercer and great workers, but unbelievably overpriced. My boyfriend and I came in to get his nose ring ( he got it pierced here) switched to a stud due to a bubble forming on his nose, waiting 2 almost 3 hours with people that came in long after us going before, and got charged $60 for a stud that was only $18. With that amount you could get a whole other piercing. Definitely finding a different shop.

I love this place. I’ve gotten two nostril piercings and a navel piercing from here, and every time I go everyone is so clean and professional. They take lots of precautions to ensure that you’re getting a safe piercing. I’ve only done walk-ins and they do a great job at getting me in asap.

Got my nipples pierced here on the 15th. Every single person there was very sweet, helpful and funny. Got my piercing done by Ms.Jennifer...HIGHLY RECCOMEND HER!!!! She made me feel so comfortable. She so nice and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back for more.

I had a consultation app at this establishment when I arrived 2 ppl ahead of me I was never greeted or told ‘we will be right with you’ another person walks in after a few minutes go by she walks up to the counter and the other employee walks up to counter and ask her how can she help her? Didn’t acknowledge that I was in line and that this lady clearly just skipped me when she clearly seen me walk in and stand there patiently waiting so I just walked out. JUST RUDE ALL AROUND WONT BE GOING BACK THERE!!!

Great service, great staff, clean establishment, but WAY overpriced. I had gotten the same jewelry at few other shops for $10 and I was charged $65. After asking for a refund I was told they dont do refunds. Even though I paid in cash and tried to return it legitimately 2 minutes after I purchased them.

First piercing experience in over 10 years, since my tounge ring when i was 18. This place was super professional, and the whole process was pretty quick and painless. I made an appointment just to make sure i could get in and not have to wait long, but my friend decided last minute to get hers done too and we only ended up having to wait 10 mins to get her in on a busy day. Would definitely trust them and go again for my next piercing

Ive come here for my last 3 piercing and I must say, I always leave pleased. Theyre reasonably priced and have excellent customer service. I give them 4 Strong Stars instead of 5 only because when theyre packed you will have to wait awhile.

Absolute worst service EVER. i’ve came two different times the first time they straight up told me no to my piercing. the second time i went there 20 min after they opened waited at the door while they were standing at the cash register watching me wait. one lady even came up to the door to put a sign up saying walk ins welcomed and still didn’t open the door after 15 minutes !! they finally opened the door there was ONE person ahead of me and when they took care of her they told me they don’t have any availability i was the only person there she said they’re booked out until the end of february but put a sign up saying walk ins are welcomed ???? do not recommend to anyone

Ive been there several times, to have piercing removed or put back in after surgery. A few weeks ago, I stopped in after work to have my nose stud put back in, knowing that theyd be busy. And they were. So I made an appointment for my lunch hour the next day. The girl helping g me took my phone number and confirmed I had an appointment for the next day. So I stopped in the next day on my lunch hour, and I was told that my appointment was for the NEXT day, a day when I was going to have family in from out of town, and I wouldnt be available. They were too backed up to see me, so I left. Unhappy. As I left, the girls helping me said shed get to the bottom of what happened. They have my phone number but theyve never called to apologize or try to make it right. Im done.

Got my ears pierced here for the first time on my birthday. Very nice and helpful people there and I will definitely come back if I consider getting any more piercings.

The service leaves a lot to be desired. First, the nasal piercing was done incorrectly, resulting in the piercing sinking in. The following day we stopped in to have it looked at and corrected, only for the gal who was helping us to go out of her way to be rude and condescending. We were told that it would be a 45 minute wait, which was obviously understanding as there were others ahead of us. However, two walk-ins came in after us and were escorted back. Of course we questioned that, and the gal handling the flow of traffic treated us as if we were hassling her/inconveniencing her. Then immediately retreated to the back room.It’s a luck of the draw apparently - good luck to anyone who comes in.

Absolutely horrible experience. I called because my nose piercing fell out after 3 weeks. They never even asked my name. Left me on hold for 7 minutes. Finally a very abrupt man came on the phone and informed me I would have to buy a new piece of jewelry and come in as a walk-in to get it fixed! Very unprofessional. I guess I will have to go somewhere reputable to have this fixed.

Ive gotten 3 piercings done at this place, and I loved the experience. My question is, if I could get my industrial switched out, since Ive had it for 3 years and it has not healed. I dont have the right anatomy for it, plus I think the bar is to small.

Everyone is super nice and helpful. They were able to sell me a new nose ring and change it out for me. All less than $20 and less than 20 minutes. Theyre doing a great job with limiting the number of people in the store.

Employees were very kind and explained step by step for our baby to get her ears pierced. They then gave the option of 2 piercers doing her ears at the same time, so it was over fast. Loved these women!

Covid fee? Im confused what this pays for. Not a single person STAFF or customer had on a mask. Not to mention there was not a single mask, hand sanitizer, nothing that was available or anywhere in site would warrant a COVID fee. I can not wait to see how this fee gets justified by the owner. It would have also been nice to see a price list seeing as my daughter paid $197 for a navel piercing again including a COVID fee. Let me guess this covid fee is a fund thats collected in case any staff happens to catch covid so they can be off of work? Oh Im so excited and waiting for the justification in this seeing as not a single staff had on a mask, gloves,nor was there a drop of hand sanitizer anywhere in sight let alone any kind of specialty products where the chairs and such are wiped down because I can tell you my daughter and I went in the same room and nothing was wiped down in between both of our piercings. Before anyone tries to say were family the address is on our ID dont match we dont live in the same household so if were going to be charged a covid fee than the least you could have did was sanitizer chair in between piercings. Some money back I think these Covid fees are ridiculous and I would demand my covid fee returned.

We walked in on a Saturday (DONT DO THIS, you will have to wait) to pierce my 5 year old daughters ears and were greeted by friendly and helpful woman. We filled out paperwork and had to wait for 45 minutes (because we were a walk-in on the weekend).It was no problem in asking for both ears to be pierced at the same time and both piercers were fantastic with my daughter.Thank you Avant Garde for giving us the best experience possible under our circumstances. For my next daughter, I will make an appointment.

So happy with the work I have had done, and the work my family has had done. Jennifer has done several piercings for me and family and is really great. She is happy to answer questions during and with aftercare, and she really took care to be clean and efficient.. Brent did a consult for my 12 year old when we had an issue with her cartilage ear piercing and I was truly impressed with the way he talked to her and his knowledge.I really cant say enough nice things about Avant Garde.
