Jesse was by far the best tattoo artist for my first tattoo. Not only does my tattoo look better than almost every tattoo I have ever seen, but his knowledge was second to none and he was really patient with my questions and talking me through some of the anxiety and he was so detailed about the aftercare. An amazing experience all around and I will be going back for more. If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would.

Jesse was easy to communicate with from start to finish. it was clear that he is knowledgeable and passionate about his art. he took the time to thoroughly explain things in the consult, quoted me a price and let me have some time to think about it without feeling pressured to pay a deposit immediately (not all artists will do that for you). he even drew up a mock piece on my arm so I could get an idea of what it would look like. I would definitely recommend and return!

I don’t think I have enough space to share how great this experience was. I have had several tattoos done in other various established parlors, and MANIA is head and shoulders above the rest. My tattoo is pretty simple but i’m absolutely in love with it. It was my first time going to Jesse and i will absolutely be going back to him for future tattoos. he was super nice and professional and explained aftercare really well. definitely recommend him!

My tattoo took maybe 40 minutes at the most. And it came out amazing. I had a different idea of what I wanted to get but Jesse helped me out and a lot of what he said, makes sense. He knows what hes doing. 11/10 would recommend.

I setup an appointment and got my first tattoo which was a runic spelling of my son’s name. Jesse made the entire process such a breeze, and did an outstanding job. He was excellent in explaining the process and post care needed. Will absolutely be retuning in the future to get more. If you are looking for a tattoo artist, cannot recommended anyone better than Jesse.

I was very nervous walking into the experience of getting my first tattoo, Jesse was welcoming and professional. I came in with a general idea of what I wanted to do but not a clear vision of it, Jesse was able to point out elements to me that would not work and he was able to expand on my idea further. The aspect I am the most happy about is Jesse and I were able to find a point where we were both excited about the work we were doing. Feeling like he wanted to be a part of the experience rather than just putting in work made me feel great as a customer.

This is my second time getting tattooed by Jesse and I am impressed each time I sit in that chair. His Milwaukee traditional Dietzel tattoos are a favorite of mine because theyre visually stunning, crisp and bold, and they look great on the body. Jesse made sure I picked one that would look great on me.The consultation was personal rather than through email like some other tattoo artists which made me feel comfortable about my decision. On tattoo days, Jesse again made sure I was comfortable by changing the temperature if needed, asking how I was feeling, and communicating when we would take breaks and finish up. Not to mention, his shop is full of color and art, it is extremely clean and organized--it just makes you want to get tattooed!Jesse is a true gem in Milwaukee and I am so glad to be wearing two of his pieces. Okay this place is the real deal. Jessie the owner is so sweet and professional. He responded to my request in less than a couple of hours and scheduled a consultation appointment. He was very informative and obviously very knowledgeable. The day of the tattoo he was very patient and asking me for feedback throughout the session. If you want your tattoo to be a great experience, check this place out. It is basically a museum on the inside. Will be back here as soon as possible. 5 stars :)

Jesse is absolutely the best, hands down! I had a vision of what I wanted but wasn’t quite sure how to properly execute it so I showed him a few examples and he was able to draw up not only EXACTLY what I wanted, it was so far beyond what I was expecting. I am in love with his artwork and line work. 10/10 highly recommend him!!!(This was done in two phases exactly a month apart. The skull section below is fully healed and the top lace section is fresh ink, hence the color difference.)

I had been wanting to have work done by Jesse for about 2 years, when the time came around to have the opportunity to do so,I jumped right on it. I found Jesse a couple of months ago when searching for an artist to help me with an American traditional sleeve, and from our first consult I knew he was the artist I wanted to work with.Jesse is extremely passionate about tattooing, demonstrated by how much time he spent talking with me about what I wanted and looking at art together for inspiration. He has an amazing collection that I just barely scratched the surface of, and I could spend days looking through everything he has.Jesse is an experienced tattooer and is very thorough in guiding you through what to expect during tattooing and on after care. He has a good eye for placement takes his time to make sure the tattoos are placed in a way that compliments the body. And the man tattoos fast! I was shocked at how quickly he tattoos, especially considering that the quality is also top notch. Less time under the needle is always a nice benefit :)As the saying goes, good tattoos are not cheap and cheap tattoos are not good, but overall I found his prices to be fair. I will definitely be going back in the future.

I’m really glad to have gotten my first tattoo done by Jesse. After seeing his artwork on Instagram & the glowing reviews he received, I decided to give him a chance and was blown away by the results. About two weeks ago I got my Sailor Moon inspired tattoo from Jesse. It had been more than a decade since I had gotten tatted, so the nerves were there. Considering I got it on my spine, the nerves were heightened. From the consultation to the end of the tattoo appointment, Jesse made me feel comfortable the whole way through. I thought my idea was too simple for him at first, being just symbols, but the tattoo travels the length of my spine at 14 inches, looks exact how I wanted it to, and I could not be more happy! New favorite tat for sure! Jesse was thorough and clean the entire process, which eased my nerves as well. Would reccomend to anyone!

Hands down recommend Jesse - really nice guy that does amazing work in a private hygienic setting. I came to Jesse for a cover up of a cross on my right wrist and knew I wanted to cover it with my birth flower, a gladiolus. He utilized my forearm length and width perfectly all while completely covering the cross on my wrist in the process. He worked with my schedule and was flexible when I had to change my appointment start time due to a prior family commitment, which was much appreciated. I went in to chat with him about ideas, and he really helped to guide me towards a very classic and beautiful tattoo. He’s very knowledgeable and collaborative. Within a few minutes, we’d nailed down an idea. A week later I went to see the drawing and it blew my mind! Tuesday was THE day and the actual tattoo is even more stunning than the drawing. After many meetings with potential artists it was clear Jesse took the time to listen to what I wanted and work with me on a design. Instead of giving me a design we worked thru designs together until we agreed this was the best we could achieve. After seeing his work two of my family is also interested in being a customer.

I don’t even know where to start; I have so many great things to say about Jesse and would recommend him over and over again. Ive been in to see Jesse at Mania Ink Tattoo twice now, and I will definitely be going back! The studio is clean, comfortable, and really has a great atmosphere. Its not your traditional tattoo shop vibe...the focus is definitely on the art. My first tattoo with Jesse was a design I brought to him. I loved it so much when it was done that I asked him to design a custom piece to cover up an old tattoo on my shoulder. I gave him an idea of what I wanted, and he nailed it! Its my favorite tattoo. This place is awesome! The shop is remarkably clean and Jesse takes the time and effort to make sure you are comfortable (well, as comfortable as you can be getting a tattoo) and satisfied. I brought in an image similar to what I wanted on my side and Jesse drew it up and modified it to make it unique. It was rather large and in a painful area (over my rib cage) so he made sure that the work moved at a pace I was comfortable with. I loved the end result so much that I came in again for him to expand it further up my back. My husband goes to Jesse as well now and he did an amazing cover-up over an old tattoo. I also like the fact that Jesse isnt the type of tattoo artist to take it personally if you want to change something on a design. He truly wants to make sure you are satisfied with what youre getting done.

I have nearly 20 hours of work done by Jesse at Mania Ink. The majority of my tattoos are done in an old school style. Jesse has nearly mastered the old school look while keeping his own flavor intact. This is not easy to do without the work looking too close to a caricature, but he gets it. I get compliments on his work all the time.Jesse is a great collaborator. He listens to the customer like he was working with a partner on an art project. He shares his ideas and always incorporates your own ideas. His work translates well in both large scale and small scale tattoos. He has a great understanding and execution of color, but totally rocks the black and grey scale. My ink has always healed well, but he guarantees the work like a professional.His shop is clean, inviting, and well lit. There is a library of tattoo books and his portfolios are full of work. You will always find stacks of drawings on his desk, and costume tattoo designs tacked to the walls. Look no further if you are needing a seasoned tattooist and trained artist to do some quality work for you.

Mania Tattoo is a clean, comfortable space. I was really nervous about getting the work done and a bit of a baby. Jesse was really patient and gentle, allowing me to take a break whenever I needed. I had one tattoo done prior to this elsewhere and the artist just wanted to finish asap.He is now working on a HUGE piece on my ENTIRE back. I dont think I would have entrusted anyone to do a piece of this magnitude had it not been for a great first experience. I am thrilled with it and cannot wait until its finished. I left a review before but not seeing it now. I got a tattoo from my man Jesse last August. It was a very important piece to me as my cousin just passed away and it was a half sleeve. (Hope you remember it, it was a Ohio State Red O with the words, you should be here). I went in with a image I thought was good but Jesse added his own touches and made it something I couldnt even imagine, it was truly incredible. He did the tattoo for me after hours and was so flexible with my work schedule. It was great getting to know him and more about Milwaukee because I just had moved here recently last year. Great tattooing style, but if you’re a Filo or anyone looking to get a nice tribal tattoo after looking at his portfolio, I recommend you turn elsewhere. Has no knowledge in tribal work, yet, it’s in his portfolio on his website? Why? He is culturally incompetent and asked questions regarding tribal tattoos that he, himself, could not answer. He spoke condescendingly and disrespectfully to us even though we went into the consultation knowing exactly what we wanted without needing(or wanting)his opinion on placement, for example. 0/10 recommend. We thought he was a POC, but he’s not, if that matters to anyone.

By far, Jesse’s photos superseded the rest.So, I reached out to see if he would be down to do a tattoo for me (on my forearm), that’s actually themed on a different city than MKE - he said of course!Upon our initial meeting, he actively listened to my ideas and presented thought provoking questions to be sure to pull out exactly what I thought would be important to depict in my tattoo. He then went to work, making a quick sketch to see if he was along the right ideas. He took detailed notes on everything I said that day and told me to give him a few days to perfect his sketch for me. So, we set an appointment.As soon as I saw the final sketch, I knew I made the right choice in an artist. Just 20 mins into the tattoo, I saw his expertise truly begin to unfold. I went in for my first tattoo. I had him design it and everything for me and when he showed me the outline it was better than i had imagined it to be. During the tattoo, I was squirming around but he was super patient with me and kept making sure that I was okay. As we walked in with no one else present, the gentleman stated he was too busy to take us. We stated what we wanted on our hands he said he wouldnt do it because he doesnt recommend it (despite numerous pictures of hand tattoos posted throughout the shop). It felt as though he was just judging us because we probably werent the typical tattoo customer.
