Sarah did not only an amazing job on my tattoos but paid special attention to things I hadnt super considered, such as small adjustments to the positioning, and even replacing the template four times to make sure it was lined up just how we wanted it.Everyone that I interacted with at Blaque Owl, from all of the artists to even other customers getting work done there were super friendly but also super supportive of each other, their ink, and their art. The whole atmosphere was relaxed, down to earth and generally a super pleasant experience.Sarah was not only really professional (in the chill relaxed way) but super attentive to details that I wasnt even aware of but appreciate that she did. It was a real human experience, instead of feeling like just another customer that Ive had at other places, and she seemed just as excited about my tattoos as I was, if not more. I would HIGHLY recommend Blaque Owl, I will be telling all my friends and family about them, and even going back for more ink, they KILLED it!

Cancelled my appointment after I drove 2 hours with cash in hand to pay for their services as agreed upon a week earlier. They claim they tried to call but in reality they set an appointment and took a deposit without knowing their own schedule. I missed a day of work and shaved my chest for nothing😂 I 10/10 do not recommend. Already found a new artist and he respects my time. Their artist missed out on a $600 tip because I was so excited.

Really can’t say enough about Matt Plauman and how awesome of an artist he is. The tattoo he gave me is just beautiful and he made the entire process so comfortable. He was very patient with me figuring out design and placement. Would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for trad tattoo. The shop was also very clean, comfortable, and a safe space to be tattooed!!!

Matt from Maine did my tattoo and he is extraordinarily talented, very patient and understanding. I highly recommend him and everyone else at this shop they all seem to be amazing as well! everyone is so friendly and they will even remember your name. The staff was great too which makes it really easy fun experience to get a tattoo.

My friend and I came in for a walk in and wanted bee tattoos! Joey did both of our tattoos. My friend went before me ended up with an amazing tattoo with lots of details and he made sure it was everything she asked for! She was incredibly pleased and happy with her end result because Joey went above and beyond for her. It took him an hour for her tattoo and it showed. While my tattoo on the other hand took about 30 minutes and Joey seemed to rush my tattoo. I got what I asked for but nothing more than that. I didn’t get white highlights or the colors I asked for. I wanted light pink and purple for the flowers and got bright instead. I am not complaining because it was a walk-in and my tattoo is still really great. I am a bit disappointed though because Joey went above and beyond for my friend but not me. I am now having to go to another tattoo shop once it heals to get it touched up and add the extra details it’s missing. I think I may have had a different experience if I had booked the appointment in advance. I’m overall happy with the tattoo but definitely think it needs more. I’d recommend blague owl tattoo for anyone in Missoula! Joey is an awesome tattoo artist and made sure my friend and I were comfortable! I just wish I got the same experience and details in my tattoo as my friend.

I wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to Cyrus. He was very quick to communicate about openings and days that would work best for work schedule given I work a typical 9-5. This was my first ink in nearly 7 years, and I felt comfortable during the entire process. It was very reassuring to hear that I was doing great with keeping my arm still (although my leg was involuntarily twitching). Highly recommend the atmosphere here and Cyrus =) thanks for the awesome tat!

I met Joey G. as a customer in my store. I had been told he was an artist and scoped his work out on Instagram. He was easily approachable in person and friendly. I asked what kind of work he preferred and he was quick to say he was open to trying new things which was very welcoming. I contacted him on Instagram soon after and he quickly responded to get me scheduled. The tattoo I chose is 2 hands, one on each side of my behind. I was comfortable and Joey was completely professional the entire time. He placed the first stencil on as a reference and placed the second stencil on a few times over, to ensure that the hands were as symmetrical as physically possible. I especially appreciated this (and so does my spouse). The healing was very quick. No hard lines or scarring. His line work and small details are impeccable! The placement is a shame because it is by far, my most impressive piece as well as my favorite (and I cannot share with everyone). Joey is CARE-ful. He is personable. Professional. And CLEAN. I highly recommend him. I will be going to him for all future tattoo appointments! 10/10!

Forrest at Blaque Owl did an amazing job covering up an old tattoo on my arm, helping me to be more confident. He does incredible detailed line work, which I have received many comments on, plus he was nice to talk to. 5 stars- would highly recommend!

Fantastic! Was so impressed with this place. Very professional, clean, friendly, and creative artists there. Not intimidating whatsoever and a comfortable space. Chris was wonderful, aboslutely great! I had a tattoo from a different parlor that I was disappointed with. Chris worked with me to offer suggestions and what my ultimate goal of the finished product would look like. She fixed it right up so that I love it again and I couldnt be more pleased. For any tattoo work in the future, I am definitely going to see her! Very pleased and will recommend them to friends and family.

Came in here to get a repair of a tattoo. The artist Nick has really been kind and attentive throughout the process. He listens to me and what I am looking for and his follow through had been great so far. We are still working on my piece and I cant wait to finish it! Buck had done work for my fiance and it is pristine in detail. He is also an incredible artist. Plan ahead though... People know it and hes booked out for a bit.

Got a tattoo from Joey 7 years ago and I will never recommend him. He blew out my tattoo so badly I am scarred and it looks like I am permanently bruised. He definitely picks and chooses what tattoos to show on his instagram and website. So be sure to pick a different artist

Ive gotten work done by Ian numerous times and he is nothing short of amazing. The rest of the artists here are also professional with a capital P, and talented beyond belief. I cant even begin to count how many compliments Ive gotten on all my Blaque Owl pieces. When you get true admiration for the ink on your body, thats when you know its true ART. Remember,...amazing work dont come cheap and cheap work.....well,...we all know how that goes.😂

Got my nose pierced here a few months ago. Great experience, the piercer explained what was gonna happen marked the spot she was gonna pierce and made sure I was going to like the placement. It didnt hurt at all and it took maybe 2mins to do and then she told me how to clean it and gave me paperwork that explained it all. Overall great experience definitely recommend this place!!

Hands down the best shop in town--nay, the region! Ive done a couple big pieces there and have some more planned. A lot of great artists in which to chose. Lana has been girl for most of my work and does really impressive things. Yes, its not the cheapest shop in town, but thats for a reason. If youre looking to put some real art on your skin, this is your place!

Needed a new peice for my tragus piercing. Was able to use the same bar. Price was better than the shops I had called around town, and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Quick, easy, painless. Lacy was great! Light hand and easy to talk to! Highly recommend this shop

Ive gotten a bunch of tattoos in Missoula and Blaque Owl is by far my favourite. I had 3 tattoos done by Lacy Z. She does amazing work. The shop is always really clean and everyone that works there is professional and friendly.

This place is incredible. I had the distinct pleasure of having the very talented artist Ian Caroppoli doing my tattoos and I couldnt be happier. His professionalism is unparalleled and I couldnt be more grateful for his work. Ill definitely be back! Rebekah was also very kind and patient with me. Theres no place Id recommend more for all your tattooing needs.

I got my first tattoo done in January by Nick! It looks beautiful with great detailing and healed nicely. The overall experience was great. The shop is super clean and I would 100% get another tattoo from here.

This rating is in reference only to the uncomfortable tattoo chairs and tables. I really love this place the artists and staff are always top notch. Ive spent a lot of time and money there with multiple artists and each time its so uncomfortable, I hate to complain but when your laying or sitting there for hours its hard on your body. I hope management sees this review, and uses the complaint as an opportunity for improvement. We love Blaque Owl.

Shout out to Nick! The tattoo devil in the back! Nick was a true professional and coached me through my first tattoo. It was of my favorite bands logo, the previous lead singer ended up commenting on my tattoo and even admitted it is far better than his!!! Thank you so so much Nick, couldnt be happier man!!

This place is top notch. I have gotten work done by Ian and Mike and I have always had a great experience. Nice atmosphere, good people, great art. You cant go wrong. I will go back again for sure and I send my friends there.

Artists are cool and talented. Scheduling an appointment is easy (unlike every other tattoo studio) Im going there for all my tattoos from now on.

My experience with Blaque Owl tattoo parlor has been substandard, and definitely not worthy of five stars as others have indicated. There are multiple reasons for this evaluation. Some experiences are based on my own account, while others were relayed to me by friends.First of all, scheduling is months out from the time you make the appointment. This is certainly not because the artists are that good. When the appointed time finally arrives, the artist often does not have the designed tattoo finished. In fact, there have been times when consultation(s) were not scheduled or even encouraged. A friend of mine was scheduled and blown off by Mike without so much as a phone call. Their concern was not stellar.In regards to Ian’s skill, evaluate his online work. In general, his lines are wavy and of varying thicknesses, or have bends/angles that make no sense at all. Female hands look like they belong to Arnold Schwarzenegger. Lighting is off, oftentimes multiple light sources are used. Shading is not gradual. Shadows make no sense. Ovals are not completely ovals or circles smooth with a uniform radius (observe his pearls). Flows do not make sense according to the subject matter being tattooed. Moreover, Ian has been observed to yell at customers and coworkers, tell customers he will not do the work they wanted done, and fails to have the art prepared ahead of time for the scheduled consultation (when they did occur) prior to the appointment.In short, this parlor has an unmerited, uppity and snobbish attitude without the talent or clout to support this persona. The only thing they DO have going for them is their visibility and flashy store front. But these two facts do not offset the low level of service and talent as their location would indicate. This is tragic for those thinking that flashy store fronts and pretty wall art indicate talent and good service behind their doors, neither of which the tattoo parlor possesses.

Britt is truly amazing, I have never seen any artist be able to capture my taste, and put my ideas into the most beautiful art. She does my fiancés work also, and its so different then mine are, besides our matching set of crowns, but so intricate... Everyone everywhere we go always asks who does our ink, only answer is BRITT at Blaque Owl.

I got two tattoos here just yesterday and I am super pleased with the results!I got a cover-up on my hip from Cyrus (@cyrussage on Instagram) of my cat, I didnt really know how I wanted it to look and he had great sketchups and worked with me to get me what I wanted. The shading is beautiful, the linework is crisp and clean, and he was super kind and knowlegable .I also got a contour pinecone on my arm, and it went quickly, smoothly, and he did a really great job. Two thumbs up. I will definitely go back if Im feeling another tattoo.

I called ahead for a tattoo, was told that I could not book am appointment, that walk ins would start at 3pm I told them I would 100% be there! When I got there at 245 I was told they were booked up. I waisted my day waiting until 3pm. I could have been there earlier if told. They were rude and unprofessional.

Chris is is sensitive to your wants and will do custom work and is excellent. The studio, itself, is one of the cleanest, best run and with 8? professional artists! Cant ask for anything more?

I went to Blaque Owl Tattoo May 31st and got the most amazing tattoo from Miss B. This woman is absolutely amazing. She did this Cherry Blossom Tree on my calf (and all free hand mind you) that is so f-ing sweet. I cant wait for my next session and get the mountains, moon, clouds, and stars. Made a appointment over the phone to get my daughters ears pierced. Drove 40 miles to get there and asked if we had her birth certificate. Failed to mention it at the time of making the appointment. who carries that around without being notified that you need it to get ears pierced?! Needless to say we didnt get it done.

Worked with Dave for an anatomical skull, turned out amazing! I appreciated the relaxed vibe and excellent artwork. Can’t wait to go back!
