Had the pleasure of getting two tattoos from the owner, Rob. Hands down one of the best shops I’ve visited. The shop was extremely clean and comfortable and all artists were very welcoming. You can tell everyone has a sincere passion for bringing art to life.

I would highly recommend Inkwell tattoos. Ive gotten three done by Matt so far. The place is very clean very professional and atmosphere is nothing but perfect and respect to the clients. I would give them a five star. Matt would be the only person that I would get a tattoo from . Matt does excellent work.

I’ve been getting tattooed by Rob for a few years and all of his tattoos are great! My leg is almost full of mostly his work now and its come together so nicely. The shop is always clean and welcoming. Never had any issues with my appointments. Everyone that works there is super talented, kind, and fun. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I always highly recommend Rob to friends/family for bold, clean, STRAIGHT line work. Got my first tattoo from him in Sept 17, a half sleeve with some corrective work of a piece that I already had, finished it up this year, and got in for their 4/20 sale this year for my first color tattoo! Gabby did an excellent job on my tattoo!! She was able to do exactly what I wanted while bringing her own style to the table. She used a numbing cream to help ease the pain since my tattoo was done in a very sensitive spot. The lines are straight and it healed beautifully! I will definitely be going back. All staff is fun and friendly while providing a clean and professional environment. Highly recommend.

Best tattoo shop I have ever been to! Shop is super clean and organized. All the guys are great and do different kinds of work so you can always find an artist there to help you! My artist Rob always takes all of my input when doing my custom designs. Won’t ever go anywhere else!

I looked around at a bunch of different tattoo shops around town, and this is the one that caught my eye. I got my first tattoo done here, and I am pleased to say that it was a very pleasant experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with smiles and a very relaxed environment. The staff is wonderful at communicating with customers as well. The place is also very clean.Rob did my tattoo and did an amazing job. He explained everything he was going to do before he did it, making sure to not leave me in the dark about the process. I will definitely be coming back in the future.

I got my tattoo made from Matt, he is a great artist and did a really good job. i gave him a drawing of what i would like to get. he worked it out and made it unique. We had two sessions and i felt very comfortable. I would definitely come back

I was tattooed by Rob Brown Guy. I had been watching his sessions and absolutely loved his work. My husband passed away after a long battle with cancer and I wanted to memorialize Mario somehow. So I messaged Rob and gave him an idea of what I wanted. Within the week he had the start of what would become exactly what I wanted and more then I knew. I went for the appointment and the finished artwork was so want I wanted that I got teary. Rob had added special meanings within the tattoo that meant more to me then I think he realized. The shop is super clean and I felt so comfortable with him. I was very nervous since my 1st tatoo was not professionally done. Rob has a very light hand which I appreciated so much. I have recommended INKWELL TATTOO to many of my friends and they have been just as happy as me with his work. Hes not just a tattooist but hes an artist in every sense of the word. I will be going back very soon.

My Sister and I had gotten matching turtle tattoos in remembrance of our Dad. Rob was hands down the best tattoo artist I have ever worked with. He is very passionate in the work that he does and the service he provides. He made us feel very comfortable and made the experience one to never forget. I love how clean the shop was as well and the care he put into the aftercare portion of the tattoos as well. I will definitley return for more work. So thankful we chose him, the turtles are beautiful💖

I spent a good 6 hours here getting a tattoo from Rob. There was another artist there with another client during this time. There were a couple of times that both Rob and the other artist laughed about typical tattoos like shooting stars and fad tattoos of flowers and quotes that I had just said that I had, which made me feel bad. The overall cost of the tattoo was way more expensive than I thought. I suppose I should have asked his hourly rate first. The parking situation at the shop is not ideal and I had no idea where I could park to get there. That would be a good thing to mention to new clients in the future. I will say, Rob did walk me to my car after, which was nice since it was after dark and its not the best area. I really liked that they offered numbing spray and used the saniderm wrap. Overall the the tattoo turned out nice, the shop is very clean, and if youve got that much cash to drop, then its worth a shot.

Juan is absolutely amazing with his work and is super cool to talk to. He is always flexible with fitting in appointments and has some beautiful original pieces. He has done pretty much all of my wife’s tattoos and has done 4 of mine, all of which are my favorite ones. Everything healed great and the color has stayed extremely well. He gets pieces done efficiently, never taking too much time but always paying attention to every detail and never overcharges for his work. I’ve followed Juan wherever he goes and I will continue to do so no matter what.

I came here to get my tattoo from Gabby. It was my first one. It was a smaller one that I got on my forearm. Honestly, I’m extremely happy. The experience was great. I liked their setup, cleanliness, and professionalism. This tattoo means a lot to me and I guess just seeing it on me after it was done had to be my favorite part. I’m definitely recommending Inkwell Tattoos for your next tattoo.

Definitely need to visit Juan! He has done two cover ups for me. He does a great job a packing in color. Lines are smooth and when he is doing script practically perfection. He did a 6 hour tattoo on my husband as well. All tattoos healed nice. Obviously I’d recommend him because we’ve used his talent multiple times!

Rob and his crew are extremely professional, the shop is extremely clean and well laid out.Rob went over my ideas for the tattoo with me and explained designs styles and layout for the size and area of the tattoo and came up with a beautiful design for me that fit the space perfectly.Rob is not only a tattooist but is an actual artist and his eye for detail and his line work is absolutly stunning in my honest opinion.As a female heading into the shop i did not feel intimidated at all which was important to me as some shops feel a bit sketch at times. One of the greatest tattoo shops in Modesto. Everyone is friendly and the tattoo work is amazing. They make you feel like Family the moment you walk into the door, all the way until your finished. The colors stay bright. My tattoo healed in 5 days!!!

I received a tattoo by Rob “Brown Guy” last weekend. He took my ideas and pictures and made them into a beautiful tattoo. Juan has done almost all my tattoos, I love his attention to detail and he is amazing with color even on my darker skin! All my tattoos he has done healed beautifully. I get so many compliments on his work, I recommend him to everyone!

This place is great, Ive been going to Scotty since before he started working at Inkwell and this place kicks the other tattoo shops a**, not only because of the quality and the variety of styles these guys offer from realism to old-school, new traditional you name it they will pull it off. The ambience and the kick back mood makes you want to come back for more the owner Rob brownguy is awesome, hes been in the industry for years and Juan pulls off some beautiful portrait/realism tattoos. These guys are very professional they know what they are doing they make you feel at home.

I have many tattoos.. However a cover up done by Rob at Inkwell is by FAR my favorite. He was able to cover the ugliest dragon with beautiful roses and lace. I already have my next one in mind and I wouldnt dare go to anyone else. I recommend Rob all the time!!

Juan always gets down with every tattoo he does , he’s done amazing pieces on friends of mine and people that have recommend me to him. He did a cover up for me that I loved and means a lot to me and most likely to get my whole sleeve by him!!

Juan does amazing work, Ive seen his work on instagram and finally was able to get a piece done by him and he did not disappoint at all and it healed nicely better than my other pieces did. Had my first tattoo done about a little over a year by @Juanpatt (ig) & I love it 😍 My beautiful rose tattoo hasn’t faded, it’s still colorful as the first day I got it. Tattoo artist @Juanpatt really has talent. Not to mention I drove 3hrs after I followed his work for over a year as well. Still to this day I recommend him even if he’s 3hrs away, totally worth it. Planning to go back for my birthday 😁👌
