Studio 28 Tattoos, Body Piercing, and Fine Jewelry

Got my first tattoo here around 2 years ago and it was a pretty poor experience, mostly because of Jenny. I’m making this review now because I’ve gotten several tattoos since and none of them have been even as close to as bad of an experience as I had with Jenny.She was super rude and obstinate the entire time. For starters, when I’d walk into the parlor for consultations, she ignored me when I said hello and just gave me a side eye and walked past every visit. I should’ve seen this as a red flag.When the day before the scheduled tattoo date arrived, she said she had a family emergency and couldn’t do the tattoo the next day. This was totally fine, but I actually went in for a follow-up consultation after that and it was clear she hadn’t even started on the design, so even if there weren’t a family emergency the night before she was not prepared.When I tried to explain the art I wanted to her she had no patience at all. Here are a couple examples: when I told her I wanted a couple different patterns in the tattoo, she kept saying “pick one”. I kept saying that I wanted a different pattern in each part and she said “which one/pick one”. There was a point where I told her I didn’t like that two parts of the design she proposed were touching and she literally said “no they’re not.” I didn’t know what to say because they were clearly touching (look at the left side of the photo) and she wouldn’t change the design. Overall, it was almost impossible to communicate with her.The tattoo also took 4+ hours and when I tried to bring my phone/headphones over she told me to leave them on the chair so I just stared at the ceiling the whole time and it was my first tattoo.The execution was also poor; there are several blowouts in the tattoo and parts where she didn’t color in fully. I’ve had several tattoos since and they’re more intricate than this one and I haven’t had any of these issues. I debated coming back to get touch ups but just didn’t want to deal with her anymore.I don’t think this is representative of the whole parlor but I would *definitely* avoid getting a tattoo with Jenny.

I got my septum pierced here in 2019. As someone with over a dozen piercings, this was one of my favorite experiences.The front desk folks were transparent and had a great selection of jewelry. My piercer was Vikki who was patient with me as I was very nervous and allowed me to prepare myself beforehand. Vikki was gentle and kind as well. The placement was perfect.I still have the septum piercing to this day, it healed perfectly and I never have issues with it. I do not plan on removing it. If I were ever in the area again I would get another piercing here.

Jenny was my artist, but the others in the building at the time were so personable and fun! Jennys work is phenomenal and I highly recommend. They were very open and helpful, everyone was very nice! It was a bit pricy but it was well worth it for everything. I spent about 42 dollars for the getting it pierced. Then the good quality jewelry, a spray which I paid for separately and a tip came out to about $190-200. Definitely worth it for everything it was a great experience. My conch looks amazing and Im super happy with everything! I have nothing bad to say. I would totally go back!

Got a nostril piercing here on a trip to the city and had the most amazing experience. Honestly, I am not exaggerating, this was the best peircing experience Ive had and Ive gotten quite a few piercings. Everyone was super kind and informative, the space was well organized and clean, and prices were reasonable. George was amazing as well and had a very calm demeanor. He truly took care of everything so perfectly, you can really tell he loves his craft and his technique is perfect, I barely felt anything getting pierced! Thanks for a great experience, definitely planning on going back, its worth a two hour trip down the Hudson!

Exceptional service- timely, comfortable, super clean, and everyone I’ve met has offered great technical and creative advice. Also, huge bonus, their jewelry is great quality. Had a great experience here! George was awesome—personable, and professional, and I felt very comfortable with him. Would definitely go back to him again if I was in the area!The shop is small but clean with walled-off spaces for each piercer and privacy. My piercer was on time/ahead of schedule which was great (and not overly common in this industry, in my experience, lol).I called a day before my appointment to switch times and the person I spoke with was very accommodating. They were very thorough in their aftercare instructions even before you get pierced, so you can tell they care a lot about the outcome.The prices are high, which makes sense because it is in Manhattan—in midtown, a 5-10 minute walk from Penn Station no less. I paid $150 + $40 deposit for two piercings and the cheapest barbell options (which is about double what I’d pay at my more local piercing studio) so set your expectations accordingly.I imagine I will be back or at least recommend it to friends visiting the area, because it really was as good of an experience as you can have when getting stuck with needles lol.

This is my 4th and 5th piece I’ve gotten done by Bo and he exceeds my expectations every time! I give him general ideas of what I want and he goes above and beyond with the creativity. It’s always a great experience getting work done with him and I can’t wait to do my next piece!

This is my go to place for piercings! Everyone Ive worked with has been so great at what they do and knowledgable on proper aftercare! Ive gotten now four piercings here: two lobe piercings, one helix and one nostril. Not only are their piercers excellent but I can really trust that the jewelry they sell is high quality as well. As someone with a nickel allergy, that is so important!

Darby was a total rock star. Studio 28 is the best place for cartilage, ear piercings. Ive been there quite a few times to finish the look I was curating and each and every session was amazing. From beginning to end (choosing the placement and piece, getting the piercing, and downsizing when needed), Ive always received the best customer service. A very satisfying experience! I would give 10 stars if I could.

Came here a few years ago -They redid a nipple piercing for me another location had botched.Logan was incredibly patient with me - I kept asking him to change the angle of my piercing slightly and after about 10 times, I was satisfied.He didnt show any signs of annoyance with me through the process.He was very knowledgeable, took all proper steps in cleaning and explained what he was doing.These people genuinely have a passion in what they do here.Just wish their needle wasnt so thick!!! 🤣

AMAZING experience! The shop is clean, the staff are helpful and patient. My piercer, Logan was the BEST. He was very patient with me, explained everything thoroughly, and calmed my nerves. If it werent for him, I wouldve been so nervous. The piercing barely hurt and he made great recommendations about placement and size of the piercings. This will be the only place I go to and send folx.

I have had third lobe, helix and rook piercings done at Studio 28 by couple of different piercers since 2019. Everyone is super professional and my piercings have healed with no issues. My experience during each visit has been consistently positive over the years. Most recently I went for emergency visit because my rook jewelry fell in the shower and I made a mess of my ear trying to put it back myself. This is my go to piercing studio and I will return if I decide to get more piercings. I also appreciate that they carry high quality jewelry brands and you can find something to fit your budget from lower cost titanium basics to high end gold pieces.To add: Do your research on jewelry prices from reputable brands. If you don’t know what jewelry you want go with basic neometal titanium (they also have cute gem ends). Neometal is one of the most affordable safe jewelry you can get. Plain pieces are also the best for healing your piercings which can take a year or more. This will give you plenty of time to figure out what jewelry to put after your piercing is healed. It is hard picking on the spot when you have no idea what you want and the prices of higher end pieces are expensive. I did this mistake once (my wallet was not happy and while I still like the end I got, I probably would not buy it again in retrospect).

Went to Studio 28 to get a larger gauge ear lobe piercing. Saw Logan who was just wonderful - knowledgeable, funny and totally put me at ease. The studio is super friendly and super clean and well lit. I can’t say enough good things about them - don’t hesitate even for a second in scheduling an appointment.

Excellent! First tattoo done here at Studio 28. The studio is spotless. Everyone is so friendly and I did not feel intimidated or nervous at all. Darby was an absolute sweetheart. So personable and skilled. Definitely would recommend.

I recently visited Studio28 in NYC for a septum piercing, and I had a fantastic experience! Logan did an excellent job with my piercing, ensuring that I was comfortable throughout the process and explaining everything clearly. He took the time to listen to my concerns about a previous septum piercing I had gotten at a different location that was too low and crooked; he was very understanding and made sure to place my new piercing perfectly. He also took the time to teach me how to flip up and hide the jewelry should I want to.The studio itself was clean and well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and professional, walking me thoroughly through the aftercare process. Theyre definitely pricey ($400+ for the service & the gold curved barbell I had chosen) but thats a price Im happy to pay for quality jewelry and an APP certified piercer. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality piercing experience in NYC!!

Good service. Very professional and clean environment. They werent able to do what I came in for which was to replace an eyebrow piercing. Basically they said ball just didnt unscrew. They tried and put effort in it! I also felt that maybe the owner was trying to sell/quote me on new jewelry even though the replacement jewelry I had was fine.

I was tattooed by Olivia during a birthday vacation trip to NYC. I wanted someone who could do fine lines and turn my vision into a reality, all from across the country and when I emailed the shop and connected with Olivia everything went smoothly. I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend Studio 28, especially if youre coming from out of town and looking to be taken care of!

I’ve been wanting to have a flat piercing for a while now, but was afraid that a lot of stores would not do any since im still a minor, yet studio 28 proved itself one of the best places I’ve ever gotten my piercings done! The service is amazing, really nice people! My piercing healed very well after a short time. Even though I’m allergic to anything that is not gold, the titanium hasn’t harmed my ears! I had such a wonderful experience. I unfortunately had my nostril pierced elsewhere last month and it hasn’t healed the best because of the quality of the piece. I was greeted at the door and given opportunity to look through the pieces I wanted to change my current piece to. My piercer Logan was very kind and gave me a suggestion of could be done. He changed my piece to a new beautiful one that I purchased and the service was so quick. I also, because of my medication, have uncontrollable body twitches that can make me feel uncomfortable because I struggle to sit still but, again, Logan was so patient and kind. It was a great experience and I look forward to purchasing a new piece in the future!

The most comfortable, pleasant piercing experience I have ever had! TJ was really friendly and helpful/patient as we were picking out our jewelry. Silus did our piercings and walked us through the process and placements before and during the piercing. We each felt confident about the quality of work that was being done and left with two new conch piercings and a faux rook. Thanks Studio 28!

I made a reservation for both my daughters who are visiting from California. One of them had one ear pierced in California, and the other had both her ears pierced in California. One girls looking for her second set of piercings and the other one wanted to get her other ear pierced. in California, they don’t need documentation but apparently in New York they do. I didn’t know that I didn’t read all the boxes that I had to check as I only see my daughters once every two years in New York. To the studio, I was not allowed to have their ears pierced because they didn’t have their birth certificates. I asked for a refund and was told that no refunds are given. I should’ve read the fine print. I chose small business over or the national chains because I like to support local businesses and that’s the things I get. The owner told me that the money goes to make the piercing professional isn’t wasting his time. But they take walk-ins? So if you take walk-ins, that means that somebody is there. They weren’t there so in essence I could’ve just gone in as a walk-in. They would’ve told me I didn’t have the documentation and I would’ve left and I would not have lost out on $100. I would recommend this place a simple mistake. They could’ve refunded my money they chose to keep it, they must need that more than I do

I got my conch piercing here in 2023 on my 18th birthday. everyone was super nice and professional. it felt great to see all their certifications on the walls too. the jewelry and services are on the pricey side but worth it :))

Just got a labret from Logan and it was such a wonderful experience! I went with 3 friends and we all got pierced, it was a very relaxed environment and we all had a great time. For each piercing, he walked us through every step as he went and gave us as much time as we needed. Every person there was so lovely, we will absolutely be back! Thank you all :)

Went there for my first tattoo. My tattoo artist was TJ and he had amazing customer service even when I showed up to my appointment late. The place is very clean and staff made me feel so comfortable for my first tattoo ever he brought my vision to life and will definitely be going back for my second!

All of the piercers there were SO kind and helpful. logan was my piercer and was so so sweet, helpful, professional, and accommodating. their jewelry is all very good quality and really pretty, as well. definitely the best piercing experience ive had, and ill definitely be back for future piercings!

Went in for a nose piercing, took less than 15 minutes. did not feel a thing so you know the staff are good. left with the iciest piece on my nose. such a good selection of jewelry to choose from. 100 percent worth booking an appointment. trust

My 15 year old daughter had a great experience getting her ears pierced. She said her piercer was SOO nice and very careful about placement. It was a very positive experience from beginning to end.

I’ll start off by saying that I love the design, it was a perfectly fine appointment ,and everyone was very nice. I payed a bit over $200 dollars for this tattoo and in my personal opinion I feel like the tattoo should have cleaner lines for the price. My artist Jenny did a great job creating the perfect design off of what I gave her and she brought my vision to life which I really appreciate. I have many other tattoos from much cheaper shops that have done really wonderful clean pieces for me but I saw great reviews for Studio 28 and Jenny’s work looked great so I thought I would splurge for my dream tattoo but I don’t think I’ll be coming back for anything else. Nonetheless, I love my tattoo and am very thankful to Jenny for creating a design I love.

Got two tattoos here and my artist was Bo. He was great and pieces came out amazing. Will definitely come back here. The space is nice relaxing and staff in general are very nice.

After having a nightmare of an experience at another studio, I found Logan on the APP website and booked an appointment. Let’s just say I won’t be going anywhere else ever again. From start to finish I have never had as good of an experience paying for a service as I did today. I can’t believe how happy I am - he is the real deal.

Phenomenal place! Everyone here is so kind and professional. Logan is such a gentle and spectacular piercer! Got a daith piercing - it was so quick and I absolutely love the result. Thank you to everyone at Studio 28!

ETA: After I posted this review, the owner of the shop very kindly reached out to me to offer a refund. It was so much more than I expected, and I truly appreciate it. I understand one mistake from one tattoo artist that used to work there likely doesnt represent the quality of the shop overall that seems to do good work. Keeping my original review for reference below, but I really appreciate the integrity they have in offering a refund and an apology when they didnt really have to. TyI got two tattoos here about 5 years ago. Hesitated to make a review. But they reached out for one recently so 🤷‍♀️ I only have regrets. One of the tattoos was the solar system along my arm. The images I submitted for her design were the planets in the correct order. When I saw the final on her iPad it was correct. Yet somehow when she placed the stencil on my arm, she had mixed up two of the planets which I didn’t notice because why would she do that and I was only double checking the location of the tattoo at this point. Not double checking for her errors. So by the time it was tattooed it was too late. I know mistakes happen but I have had 8 tattoo removals on the planet she messed up (Saturn so very obvious) and it’s still barely gone. It has cost me hundreds of dollars and removal is 500x more painful than tattooing. I know we sign our lives away on release forms so I assumed I wouldn’t get any money back but I did think she might give back the huge tip I left considering the enormous mistake she made that she never apologized for or tried to make right in any way. I’m spending more on removals than on my tattoos at this point and then I’ll still need to get it fixed. It’s been over five years and it’s a miserable situation because it’s taking so many painful treatments to come off. Left 1 star rather than 0 cuz the other tattoo didn’t have issues. Overall sad, frustrated, disappointed, and out a LOT of money trying to fix someone else’s permanent mistake on my body they had no remorse for. If they wanted to make an attempt to make it right I’d be open but I’m not holding my breath given how carelessly this was done. Sorry- but that was my experience.

I recently got my septum pierced here, and I can say this was the best experience ive had at a piercing studio. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was the studio was up a large flight of stairs, Im unaware if their page states they are inaccessible but I didnt think to look for that. Other than the inaccessibility my experience was amazing! The piercer came out before my session to take a look at my nose and let me know that they might have to re-pierce because of my deviated septum, which did have to be done but they let me take a minute to drink water and calm down before they re-pierced it!

5 stars for studio, very clean and nice. 5 stars for customer care, very thorough on explaining what to expect and how to take care of your piercing. 5 stars for Logan who pierced my nose. He was great, made me relaxed and it was so easy!My only reason for 4 stars is cost of jewelry. Be prepared to spend several hundred dollars. The jewelry is beautiful though, and plenty of choices. I dont plan to switch mine out often, so the cost makes sense and is not bad if you plan to wear the piece for years.*I am not sure if there is elevator access, but it is on the 3rd floor with steep steps.Definitely would and will go back.

I’m not a review person usually but I had the BEST experience with a simple jewelry change! Just needed my conch piercing switched out and Logan was so friendly and professional! Really knew what he was doing!!! My conch took forever to heal and usually switching out the jewelry is painful and starts a new healing process but I literally did not even feel him do it and there’s no pain afterwards! Also love the thoroughness of their sterilization process!!

Got four piercings (both third lobes and two cartilage) and two downsizes done by Kirsten and she was absolutely fantastic as was the entire experience. The shop helped me pick the pieces within my price range and pick the locations where I wanted everything. Kirsten lined everything up perfectly and seamlessly. Couldnt have asked for a better experience and I will most certainly be back!

Been here twice for an eyebrow piercing with Vicki, would definitely recommend. They’re respectful, informative and professional. They are also so chill, down to earth and of course do a great job! When re-piercing they were really thorough about placement aesthetics but also knew what would be best working around the scar tissue.

I got a piercing here on a whim and had a great experience. It ended up rejecting and I had to take it out a few years later, but absolutely not the fault of the piercer, I was just not meant to have that piercing I guess. Anywho, I was pretty nervous but the staff was great, they explained everything from the piercing itself to aftercare to gauge sizing, and even customized my jewelry for me. They made me feel super comfortable and were not judgy at all which made my experience really great and so much less scary. It didnt even hurt that bad and gave me the confidence for more piercings in the future!

First of all Studio28 as a whole is clean, professional and respectful, but more importantly the staff is awesome! I’ve been coming here for the last 3 years for all of my ear piercings and I absolutely refuse to go anywhere else.

I was about 15 minutes early for an appointment for 3 piercings (double helix and 4th lobe), and they kept profusely apologizing for making me wait til my actual appointment time and still ended up taking me early. That was so nice of them. Vicki was my piercer. I felt really taken care of and I felt like I could trust their advice on how to get the best version of what I wanted. They were extremely professional, meticulous and their bedside manner was really sweet. The whole team was very efficient and informative. They walked me through every step and anticipated a lot of my questions. And I appreciated the small talk because I was a little nervous 😅Ill definitely be back for my next piercing and maybe my first tattoo. :)

Incredible experience! They were so welcoming and helped me to pick out a beautiful septum ring. George spent a while making sure the piercing would be placed correctly, especially since I have a slightly deviated septum. I really appreciated the time and care he took with this, it really showed he cares about what he does. I didnt feel any pain or discomfort, just some pressure. And I am so happy with how it looks!

Got a daith piercing with Vicki and she was pure awesomeness. Made me feel super comfortable for my first piercing as an adult (ears pierced as an infant). She explained every step of the way. The front desk guy was amazing too I feel bad for forgetting his name. Great experience, with no pain!

I had a tattoo( pretty big ) on the bag of leg a couple of years ago. The ink in one area started to spread in that area of my skin that did not have a tattoo.. .. it was weird ..this happened 6 months after getting that tattoo. I was very careful.. no sun exposure, etc. when i contacted the studio to inform them , the tattoo artist was no longer working there.. after few back and worth messages.. I was offered to come to the studio and have another tattoo artist fix the issue… the bad news.. I had to pay again.. and I spent plenty of money prior..Bad business! Never will go back! This was my 3rd tattoo there.. I like the first 2 few years bag, but the 3 one was clearly a problem.. on my skin .. Not Ok!

My girlfriend and I had appointments with Vicki and Logan today for daith and ear flat piercings. Both piercers were extremely kind, knowledgeable, and friendly. The shop was very clean and had a huge selection of high-end jewelry. I would definitely recommend Studio 28 to anyone looking for a professional piercer.

I can definitely recommend Studio28 for piercings, TJ was super kind and helpful in letting me reschedule after an issue with my initial appointment. I got an eyebrow piercing from Vicki Rose and they were very cool to talk with and made sure I was happy with the placement before they pierced it. Would definitely come back here!

I made an appointment with Vicki to perform a surface piercing on my nape. The staff was incredibly prompt and professional at setting the appointment and keeping in contact with me. When I walked in the shop, I just smelled the clean. The shop was spotless and they took heavy precautions to prevent covid transmissions including taking my temp and disinfecting my hands. The selection and quality of jewelry was great. They had this gorgeous pair of amethyst ends for my piercing which I gladly purchased. Vicki was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She walked me through the steps to proceed with the piercing and exactly why she was concerned with what I wanted to do. Ultimately her knowledge led me to move the location of the piercing ever so slightly from where I initially wanted it because of my bodys anatomy and how she felt like the recovery time would be drastically increased with less chance of my body rejecting the piercing from increased tissue movement. She took her time and used great quality jelwery to perform the piercing, which was practical painless thanks to her skills. I would gladly recommend her and have found a new piercer.

Got my belly pierced elsewhere and was having a hard time finding a place with a floating navel piercing which it seemed I needed desperately in 12mm or so. They had it in stock and I came on my lunch break, they were so friendly I believe Sticks and Jack helped me(?) not sure about the names but told me to follow up in a month which is next week. Prices were a little steeper than what I paid but the gems are apparently real and I was able to find a jewel for $109, service included

They do superb work and I cannot recommend enough. I popped in during a work trip and the facilities were clean, jewelry options were ample, and they were professional yet warm.

Was in New York for a trip and decided to get pierced here and absolutely the best decision I made! I had called ahead and let them know I’ve had previous bad experiences with other locations and get nervous being pierced, and they were so kind and suggested I book an appointment with a longer time limit so I could take my time being comfortable. They spent a while making sure I got a piece of jewelry I absolutely loved and within my budget and made sure I never felt rushed at all. I got my mid cartilage pierced by Logan and he was so nice and encouraging and described everything he did before doing it and he did such an amazing job I barely felt it. Whenever I’m back in New York I will definitely be coming back for my next one!

I recommend this place without a doubt. Everyone at the studio is both an artist and a professional. Vicki Rose was simply wonderful. She took her time to get to know me, my ears, how I wear jewelry, etc. She must have measured my ears and piercings at least 10 times before she was satisfied. I so appreciate her precision and warm personality. If you want to get piercings done, this is the place to go to.

I came in for a double helix piercing with my sister. Kirsten did our piercings and she was awesome. She explained everything thoroughly and answered all our questions and she showed us how all the materials were sterilized. She reassured us that if we had any questions we can always come back to the shop or contact her at any time. Everyone at the shop was very helpful and knowledgeable. This is the best piercing shop I’ve ever been to. They take their time and aren’t an assembly line for piercings as some other shops are. Silas is a sweet gem!

I had an upcoming surgery and called to find out if they had retainers available for my piercings I really didnt want to leave empty (daith, nipples, VCH). The staff were incredibly accommodating even when I needed to change my appointment time last minute. They had glass retainers in the correct sizes available and the change out was great. The studio was clean and welcoming, I would definitely come here to get pierced if I ever get a new one and their selection of jewelry is beautiful. One thing to note is the steep stairs leading up to the studio, but thats downtown Manhattan for you!

Bo Snow is a patient and talented artist. He did one coverup and one half arm tattoo and both came out fantastic. I continue to get numerous great reviews on my tattoos.

Seen straight away for a piercing I thought was closing up. He reinserted new jewellery quickly and pain free and I was on my way in a few minutes. The space itself is clean and bright and very professional feeling.

I booked a spur of the moment appointment with Logan to pierce the right side of my nose. I had my left side done a few years ago by a different shop and it was incredibly painful and the healing process was difficult so I was a little worried about going through that again. This place is fabulous! Silus was absolutely amazing, she took a lot of time to make sure my piercings were symmetrical and optimally placed, and she was reassuring and professional throughout the process. Once the piercing was completed there was very little pain, and now, two days after there is no pain or discomfort at all. They also recommended that I get an aftercare saline solution which is sold on site and it has been extremely helpful with keeping the area clean and painless (and its actually cheaper in the studio than on Amazon).The studio had a great selection of studs and earrings from real gold (yellow and white), and once you make your choice the jewelry is placed in a sanitizing container to make sure its completely sanitized prior to the piercing. The jewelry isnt cheap but it is comparable, and often cheaper than similar pure gold jewelry online.All in all, I would highly recommend Studio 28 for all your piercing needs, and the wonderful professionalism of Silus :-)

My appointment was with Silus, I got my tragus and mid lobe pierced, Im so happy with the results. Silus and the entire staff were very kind and knowledgeable. George is literally the best piercer I have ever been to (and Ive been to a lot). I walked in to Studio28 in terrible pain from severely irritated piercings I had gotten done elsewhere. I was desperate but George treated me so kindly and within 30 minutes had found a solution that has left me completely pain-free and healing beautifully! He also helped me design my ear to get the look I wanted and was so friendly and kind throughout the whole process. I highly recommend George to everyone!!

I finally, at the tender age of 36, got my ears pierced. The entire experience was amazing. Everyone there is extremely knowledgable, kind, and welcoming. Kirsten was the artist for my daughters navel piercing. My daughter had her nose pierced (illegally - shes a minor) without my consent almost a year ago. So when she asked for a belly button piercing, I wanted to make sure to take her to a legit establishment that was clean, safe, and professional. Studio28 was all of that and Kirsten was excellent and patient with us. She explained the process and helped us make the right decision for my daughters anatomy. I was very pleased and felt at ease. Kirsten also helped with the nose piercing which wasnt done at Studio28. She advised on a higher quality, safer metal ring, which is really pretty. My daughter is super happy with her navel piercing; it really does look nice. Shes also excited about the new nose ring. I highly recommend this establishment, and for sure, Kirsten.

I got two ear piercings from Logan, and had a great experience! The studio is super clean and has a good vibe. I received very thorough explanations and aftercare instructions - it was cool to find out exactly why things are done the way they are. Logan was super sweet, funny, and clearly knew what he was doing. I felt immediately at ease meeting him and he made everything fun and chill. The piercings are only a few days old, but so far so good. Very happy, and would definitely recommend Logan and Studio 28!

I got my septum pierced today. My piercer was gentle, and narrated each move. She told me what she was sanitizing and why, which tools, and an approximation of what it would feel like. It was over quickly, but her care of her practice made me feel like I was there longer- in a good way.

I literally just came from this shop an hour ago and never felt so inclined to write a review! I had a double earlobe piercing, and the professionalism and care I received from Vicki was top-notch. She made sure I was comfortable and satisfied with the placement of my jewelry. The whole time, she asked for consent and made sure I was okay with going along with the piercing. I just got my nostril pierced this week and it was the best piercing experience Ive ever had. I had my first nose piercing back in 2018 and it was the best thing I had ever done; should have done it sooner. It was an amazing experience!This time around - when I went to change my existing nose piercing I met the lovely lady who was going to do it, and I was scolded when I accidently touched my nose ring; I was a bit taken back because I didnt expect that tone especially when there were other customers.In any event, that was my experience and although I do not plan to return I highly recommend this place for any body piercing and/or tattoos.Ciao!

My experience was absolutely wonderful. I made the mistake of rushing my nose piercing and ended up getting it infected. After that, I found this location and I was truly upset at myself for not doing my research and going there the first time around. Very professional, very clean and friendly and knowledgeable for sure. I didnt even bleed when I got my two nose piercings and Im a bleeder lol. Huge shout-out to Kirsten. She not only helped removed my infected ring but she also did my new ones and they came out so perfect. I can surely keep going on and on about my experience but Ill just leave it here. Went to an event @ Grand Lodge of New York and we arrived a few hours early. I looked up the closest tattoo parlors and asked if they did walk-ins. Studio 28 did and was only a few blocks away from the lodge (hidden behind some trees 🌳). The guy who did my tattoo was super chill, and did a great job. Would definitely go there again. Damn NYC is expensive, first time ever paying tax on a tattoo 😳 😐. Price aside, definitely worth it.

I visited Studio28 today with my 8-year-old daughter to get her ears pierced for the first time. The online scheduling process was easy and when I called with a question, the staff was kind and helpful.The studio is spotless, with a lovely selection of earrings to choose from. We quickly met Logan, our piercer, and he showed my daughter all of her options. He was warm and funny, and clearly fantastic with kids.The piercing was done in a small room, and Logan explained everything he was going to do. My daughter got more and more nervous, and after the first ear was done she wanted to quit. Logan and I talked with her a bit to calm her down. He could not have been more patient or understanding or compassionate. It made all the difference.I would highly recommend Studio 28. Note that the earrings are pricey. And prices they quote are for one piercing, not a pair. But the service we got was top notch and I’d go again in a heartbeat.

I’d wanted a tattoo for probably over a decade and finally decided to pull the trigger. After doing my research on shops in NYC, I consistently saw Studio 28 and after exploring the artists and styles, I decided that Jenny had the best range and precision for the style I was looking for. It’s been nearly a month, and everything has healed quite nicely, and I could not think of a better experience for my first tattoo.Jenny was diligent, showed me a few variations on my design (I wanted something rather simple), and took the time to answer my questions. Even prior to the appointment, my correspondence with TJ who had been all of my questions (especially as a first timer), was excellent.The shop was extremely clean, and great care was given when it came to sanitation practices (gloves changed, wrapping me up, etc.). Fantastic experience, and might just have to come back for more!

I absolutely love going to Studio 28. I have been getting all of my piercings here for 4 years, and they are extremely nice and professional! I always feel comfortable and well taken care of. I cannot rate this place STUDIO 28 high enough. Beyond 5 stars. Heres why: In 2021, at the height of the pandemic i needed something to hang on to. Piercing and jewelry became an ongoing fascination first for a book essay (now out in 2024 see MAJIKAL from Vortex Press, Canada), and like George Plimpton playing for the Lions and getting the story; only we who are pierced know that process. One piercing, then refined, jewelry added. More jewelry, sizing, color of gold---a human, inter-active piercing experience. Ive worked with three piercing artists @ Studio 28 and they are all highly professional, hygienically-aware and clear instructions (keep it clean first 45 days!). Im hooked; sold and will be back. Im so glad I found you. Ive tried to post a photo, but it isnt taking...alas. Great work!

The Studio 28 is amazing! Unfortunately I have getting infection with my nipple piercing and I went there to try for the 3rd time. Always the staffs are very attentive, they are friendly, explain with details the best way to treat your piercing to escape infection. Bo is such a talented artist. He absolutely killed my tattoo - its perfect, and Im obsessed. Initially, I communicated with TJ online to send over what I wanted, schedule, etc., and that comm was great.I chose Bo to do my tattoo and came in with an intricate design based on an album cover. Lots of detail and shading, and it couldnt be any better. Its exactly what I wanted, and honestly, its better than I thought it would be. I came here last year to have my earlobe piercings re-pierced and had such an awful/strange experience. I did not feel they had a welcoming atmosphere and felt more like they were trying to force things on me that I did not want. It also felt like they were trying to squeeze as much money out of me as they could; I believe 100% in paying artists their fair share, but it just came to a ridiculous point at my appointment.Over the phone when I made my appointment, I asked if they had simple, plain jewelry I could purchase as I work in healthcare and can’t have something that people might grab at. They assured me they did, but when I came in the girl at the front (and my piercer) insisted I purchase their more flashy earrings at $400-1000 total. They didn’t even show me the simple studs until I asked about them several times.They also insisted I should get the more expensive jewelry because “even if someone grabs them, they’d have to pull really hard to get them out.” Like what? That sounds awful??They also heavily insisted I get two lobe piercings on one ear, then come back in a few months when those are healed and get the other two lobe piercings on the other ear. That’s not what I made an appointment for? Why am I suddenly being talked into this other piercing I don’t want? And frankly, who walks around with two lobe piercings on one ear and nothing on the other ear for months.It was also really frustrating because I had specifically asked over the phone if I could get my two lobe piercings (one on each ear) re-pierced in the same spot they’ve always been, and the person over the phone assured me they could.Day of the appointment, my piercer rolls her eyes and says she will pierce me where she best sees fit. Fair enough, but why guarantee one thing over the phone just to say another thing in-person? She ended up re-piercing the old piercing spot, but it felt really uncomfortable to have someone say they’ll do something you don’t want to your body without caring how you feel about it.They also told me that I have to come back in six months to have my lobe piercings sized down to a smaller pair. I ended up going to a different studio for that and the piercer there said he had never heard of sizing down lobe piercings in over 20+ years of being a piercer. He also said he never heard of getting only one lobe pierced at a time.It’s not a matter of money, just the fact that it was truly such a strange and frustrating experience. I didn’t even write this review for a year because I didn’t want to give the studio an unfair review. But, for a studio that promotes itself as a welcoming and inclusive place, it definitely felt like they were trying to pressure me into things I didn’t want to do. It’s just a strange experience having someone insist they will give you these piercings on your body that you do not want? And it really is so crazy there was all of this drama over a lobe piercing.

I cannot emphasize enough how incredible my experience was here. I had been wanting my nose re-pierced for a while and after much research of piercing places in the city, I knew this is where I wanted to go. The appointment process, the quality of jewelry and choices, the information for aftercare and the friendliness of those I was greeted by were unmatched. I was in the brilliant care of Kirsten and I had never felt more at ease. A definite master of the craft and I’m beyond thrilled with the results. Highly recommend!

Studio 28 is the real deal! Super reputable shop. The staff is very sweet and knowledgeable. I had a conch piercing done about over a year ago by Kristin and it healed beautifully. Logan was really nice and patient with picking out jewelry and pierced my septum great even though I have a deviated septum which makes it more tricky. Love it here and would definitely come back for more!

Just had two piercings done that I was really nervous about getting but the minute I came in, I received nothing but positive vibes and encouragement from the friendly staff. Got them done by Kirsten and I love the way they look. She is really friendly, informative, and walks you through the whole process as it’s happening. Definitely would come again and recommend :)

Got there at 730pm. Just wanted to purchase a replacement nose ring. Not browsing, not getting a piercing or tattoo. Person inside says they are closed...so why are the hours posted until 8? Why are the doors open? Do better.

I had a great experience today at Studio 28 with Vicki Rose. It was my first time at this piercing studio. Ive been to several piercing studios in New York and Minneapolis and this was definitely one of my best experiences. I really appreciated Vicki Roses aesthetic sense -- she helped me explore jewelry choices. I thought she had great artistic sensibility. As a professional piercer, she looks at jewelry and peoples ears, noses, etc all the time! She performed the actual piercing quickly and expertly. I will definitely be going back to Studio 28!

I had a septum piercing done by Logan today. What a great experience, Logan and the other members of the studio were professional and took their time answering all my questions prior to completing the piercing. I truly appreciated their knowledge and expertise. Logan explained the jewelry I needed for my new septum piercing and why. Also how to care for the new piercing. The studio was very clean and all the safety and sterilization set up done with care in preparation for the piercing.I was a little nervous and Logan reassured me and was very kind during the entire process.I highly recommend the studio and I love my new septum piercing. Vicki Rose and all the staff at Studio 28 were absolutely superb. I went for a piercing and ring change yesterday, and everyone there, from front desk workers to Vicki Rose herself (my piercer), were SO knowledgeable and helpful in helping me pick the perfect rings for my budget and size. Vicki Rose is an absolute pro, meticulous in her attention to detail and ready to explain every step of the piercing process. Her voice was so calm and kind the entire time, she was so chill, and she made the entire process as painless and easy as possible. I will 100% be returning for my next piercing, especially to Vicki Rose!!!

First thing you notice when you walk in is how clean and professional it is, made me feel totally comfortable already. The front desk workers were funny and kind, explaining everything to us in detail and asking questions. Vicki Rose was our piercer and they kept us laughing and at ease the entire time. Vicki was extremely helpful and considerate. I didnt know what to expect coming in but I felt welcomed and very safe. They definitely know how to look after their customers before, during, and well after the piercing. I visited the piercing studio.They are extremely conscious of how sanitary they want to keep the studio. Theyre all very knowledgeable and helpful. Never had to wait to be greeted and no longer than a 10-15 minute wait to be seen for a 6 p.m. walk-in. Will be coming back soon to figure out ear constellations and order custom BVLA jewelry (at no extra cost besides the price of the already expensive jewelry)

Everyone was so nice and extremely informative! My piercer was Logan and he did an awesome job, he was super friendly and funny lol. I got a second lobe piercing on my right ear with the classic implant grade jewelry. I just wish I understood the pricing more, the 43$ down payment isn’t included in the 70$ which I didn’t realize so the piercing was 120$ not including tip. But that was on me, because it is stated when you make the appointment I just misinterpreted it. It was definitely more than I wanted to spend on a lobe piercing, but the service was amazing and very very sanitary.

I received an eyebrow piercing from Vicki Rose at Studio 28 last night. It was my first non-earlobe piercing. The entire appointment, both Vicki and the man at the counter (whose name Ive forgotten, Im so sorry!) were thorough, efficient, and clear every step of the way. The studio was very clean, and Vicki made sure to explain what they were doing & that I was happy with the location & such every step of the way. They also gave me advice regarding what makeup & such I would be able to use from my normal routine.Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I would solidly recommend it.

Went to get my dermal anchor piercing removed. Making an appointment was easy and the actual process was quick and very professional. Vicki did a great job ensuring a painless removal and making sure to answer any questions I had. I didn’t feel rushed at all. Definitely would recommend!

As a 22 -year-old female with strict parents, I was really nervous while getting this piercing without them knowing, but luckily I had a supporting boyfriend with me AND a supporting staff. They answered every question with ease and you can see how professionalized they are. They made me feel welcomed and safe. Since I got a helix piercing, they informed me with aftercare and the prices of all the jewelry. I will definitely come back to this place if I want more piercings and maybe even a tattoo!

Ive had a few piercings done at Studio 28 and each time my experience is even better than the last! Vicki was my piercer today, and they are one of the most kind, caring, patient and professional people Ive ever met. Im so incredibly thankful that they not only helped me to figure out what piercings would look best on my ear based on my anatomy, but also didnt pressure me when I was so indecisive and took forever to make my choices. They explained every step and constantly checked in to make sure I was comfortable. Ive been to a few different piercing places and none hold up to Studio 28 - its worth the trip in from Long Island! The jewelry is high quality and the entire staff is amazing - Ive been pierced by both Vicki & Kirsten and cant recommend them enough. I am absolutely terrible with needles or piercings of any kind. I got my earlobes pierced when I was younger and passed out in a Claire’s…so dumb.I’ve always wanted my nipples pierced and made an appointment for today. Everyone was so incredibly kind from talking to me about jewelry choices to after care and then my piercer! LOGAN! He was so super awesome! So incredibly kind and he walked me through the entire process. I was nervous I wasn’t going to get both nipples pierced, but Logan made me feel incredibly comfortable and before I knew it- I was finished. Trust me- Logan is the person to go to. My cousins nose piercing fell out while walking around Manhatten. I called them and they told me they didnt have any appointments left but they could see what they could do. Got there and they did a really great job explaining different jewelry options and managed to get her in for a jewelry exchange. Overall everyone was very nice

Absolutely LOVEEEE Studio 28 for piercings! Been twice now and service was A+ each time. The space is clean and bright, and the staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend Vicki as a piercer - Ive scheduled with them both times (one jewelry change + one piercing) and they are the best - explained everything they were doing and asked for consent every step of the way (which cant be said of some other piercing studios Ive been to). I would 100% be pierced there again.

Wonderful experience! Vicki Rose is a fantastic body piercer! I came in to have my nipples done and they were so helpful and informative, even advising me on what color gems I might prefer to compliment my go-to everyday jewelry. Vicki is such a calming presence, tells you what they’re doing as they do it, and always asks for consent before piercing, which I especially appreciated as these were my first non-ear piercings. No more trips to Maria Tash for me, Vicki’s the absolute best!!!

Vickie was incredible! She took so much time to make sure my piercings were actually the meaning of perfect after having a pretty terrible experience having them attempted to be re-pierced elsewhere first. She helped upon an initial visit to guide me to what would be a best option for optimal results and was patient when I returned to be sure and be mindful of having had my original holes surgically closed. Emily the receptionist was very professional. My appointment was on time. I chose Studio 28 because I wanted a woman piercer and Kristen is a rockstar who didnt disappoint. She was knowledgeable and professional. The only point of feedback Id give is the aftercare instructions. Emily & Kristen both did a great job of explaining but a card or email with aftercare instructions would be helpful especially for people who get things with longer healing times.

The piercers were very polite and explained everything about the piercing. Had a wide variety of high quality jewelry. If I come up this way again Ill definitely stop by.
