Had a fantastic (and fortuitous!) walk-in experience and was lucky enough to work with Jay Shin on a tattoo I’ve wanted for a while. He did a wonderful job quickly and masterfully translating my idea to a design. The tattoo looks excellent and I would absolutely book again. The studio is beautiful and I felt completely comfortable throughout the process. Highly recommend!

I went to see Jay Shin in May for a birthday tattoo. I stumbled on him on the Bang Bang page and his renditions of birds really stuck with me- incredibly detailed and lifelike. When I had in mind what I wanted, I sent along a description and was blown away by how an idea translated to this beautiful piece of art created by Jay Shin. I had zero feedback, the design was even better than I imagined. He worked methodically and quietly and was incredibly kind. I highly recommend him. And the staff was super friendly and helpful and the establishment was clean and open. It was a wonderful experience and I will definitely go back.

This is the coolest tattoo shop I’ve ever been to. The design of the place is a nice mix between modern and minimalist. There’s so much space (and snacks/drinks) in the waiting area! All the staff were friendly and welcoming.My experience with Basil was 11/10. She is a creative genius and incorporated all my rough ideas into the perfect piece. She was very receptive to my feedback and made sure I was happy with every aspect through multiple revisions. The way she uses color to create vibrant tattoos in small, but still extremely detailed pieces, is extraordinary.Would recommend to anyone looking for their first or next tattoo!

So this was my first ever tattoo and I was very nervous about it to say the least. I researched studios and artist for like 2 years that could do tattoos for black people well. Went with BangBang (specifically Natasha) after being referred by a friend and searching both of their IG pages. I’m glad I did. The person who coordinates everything pre tattoo was very communicative. Love that they did everything through text. The day of Natasha did an amazing job of taking a basic image I thought I wanted and enhancing it. She walked me through everything since it was my first. The process was almost painless. The art was beautiful. The studio is super clean and organized. Plan to go back for future work.

Bang Bang made me super comfortable as soon as I walked in - between their personnel, lounge and kitchen, and ambiance! Basil was fantastic to work with - I love her concepts and work so much and can’t recommend enough.

Got a tattoo with Liz recently in NYC. First of all the place is an establishment. Feel like a celebrity the minute you walk in the door, and the vibe is very elevated. They have a nice lounge with snacks, etc.Liz was unreal and her attention to detail was clear. It was her birthday and they did a little celebration for her before my tattoo. She was great to chat with, and she did amazing work.Bang Bang for life.

Got a tattoo by Basil and I absolutely love it! She was super nice (as were the studio staff I interacted with) and did a great job with the design. The studio is clean, and they have a nice selection of drinks and snacks while you wait on the design. The whole process was great!

Victor Del Fueyo transcends the traditional realm of an artist. He has captured my vision of intertwining Artificial Intelligence with human intuition to envisage a shadowy, dystopian future. He specializes in Fine Line Black and Graphic style tattoos, drawing heavily on gothic and cyberpunk influences. His creations delve into the dark corridors of science fiction, with a profound homage to women as a powerful force. I have had the absolute pleasure of working with the artists at Bang Bang for four of my tattoos. Every time has been an unbelievably good experience. The shop is gorgeous, staffed with incredibly friendly and accommodating assistants, well stocked with high quality tattoo snacks and, of course, filled with some of the best artists on the planet. Most recently I worked with Michelle and I can’t wait to go back and see her again. My tattoo is fantastic and amazes everyone who sees it. Living in NYC, I’m so fortunate to have this shop close by. For any tattoo enthusiast traveling from out of town, don’t miss this stop, and try not to balk at the price. The experience alone is worth it.

Hands down the best tattoo studio. I did a ton of research before getting my first tattoo and settling with Jay Shin from Bang Bang and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how my tattoo turned out. Every artist in this studio is so gifted and it was such an incredible experience to see so many wonderful artists at work. Jay Shin was kind, understanding, patient, and soooo detailed. I cannot stop looking at my tattoo! The entire experience with Bang Bang from start to finish was phenomenal as well - from initial communication going over what I wanted, checking in the night before, providing snacks and beverages, and checking in with me the next day. Super clean studio as well. They answer any and all questions you may have. Highly recommend and if I could give 10 stars I would.

I saw Mr. K for my second tattoo with him. He is so incredibly talented it’s wild. I knew I wanted an image of my cat and he was able to capture his face, body, and personality perfectly. I would recommend Mr. K a thousand times over. Bang Bang as a shop is great to work with as well. We felt really welcomed and at ease. Everything is clean and set up well. They were able to accommodate my strange schedule. They’re always friendly and helpful.

Zee’s art is absolutely incredible! For my very first tattoo, he was gentle and had good intuition on when to take breaks during the tattooing process. The staff was also very welcoming to my family and provided snacks. I’m so glad I went to Bang Bang for my first tattoo!

Dragon is a shockingly good artist and this is the second piece I’ve gotten from him. You show up, see what he’s drawn, collaborate a bit on certain aspects, and then in 30 minutes he’s ready to go.The whole Bang Bang experience is fantastic and it’s so cool during breaks to grab something to eat and drink from downstairs and then walk around and see all of the absurd tattoos everyone else is doing, all in one big room. Meanwhile, the artists and other clients come over to see what you’re getting and geek out over it and the whole thing is incredibly friendly and chill and easy going.I’ve gotten numerous tattoos from numerous tattoo studios - this is the highest end experience and it’s not even close. There’s a reason celebrities and athletes come here to get work done.

This has been my third tattoo with Michelle and every time she amazes me with her skill, creativity, and creative opinion. This tattoo was extra special because it was my daughter’s name. I let her ultimately decide on the location and I am so in love with the placement. Michelle went above and beyond changing the font size and placement a million times until we were both happy.I was running late driving down from Westchester and they were so easy to get in contact with / accommodating and understanding. I appreciate Bang Bang for always going above and beyond of what I envision. Always looking forward to coming back!

Their SoHo shop is unassuming from the outside but the interior is a perfect execution of a high end, minimal, modern once you step past the front doors. The studio has a comfortable lounge where you can relax and meet with your artist before the actual inking session, with a great variety of drinks and snacks on hand.My session with Pavel was nothing short of extraordinary. Pavel is a gentle, empathetic human being who drafted designs to nail down what I was looking for during my visit. He was gracious and accommodating, working in details that I requested and ultimately, creating a piece that I have waiting to get with him for nearly four years.If this is your first time getting a tattoo and youre looking at Bang Bang, congratulations. Youll get an amazing piece here with almost any of the artists on the roster. Granted the prices here are not cheap, but I dont think anyone should ever consider getting a permanent piece on your body at a value/discount. You get what you pay for. If this isnt your first rodeo, youll be pleasant surprised at a high quality experience at Bang Bang.All in all I cant say enough good things about Pavels worth, professionalism, and the facilities at Bang Bang Grand. Im just two days out from my session and already dreaming of coming back to get another piece with Pavel. Dont hesitate at getting your work done here that will last you a lifetime.

I was searching on Instagram and ran across Michelle‘s page. I Loved her fine line work and I was coming to New York for a very last-minute trip. She typically doesn’t work on Saturdays and came in for me knowing that I only was there for a day and a half. I had the best experience and I absolutely love what she did for me. He took the concept of my idea and added parts of his creativity while also working with me directly to figure out a mix of what I wanted and what he was able to add as a part of his artistic style. The tattoo has so much meaning to me and it was so well done it left me feeling very happy with its expression, which only added more to how meaningful it was. 10/10 recommend.

Got my first big piece done at BBG last month and am extremely happy with it. Victor killed it. I was shocked I was able to book three days in advance just by walking in. Process was seamless, the space is exceptional, and everyone was extremely nice. I’ll be back one day for sure.

Every single detail from booking to reception and the space were perfection. I worked with Adrian who was an artistic genius- precision, vision, execution. Magic!

Lots of good reviews here, so lets mix it up. I think that this place is a money trap for tourists and people who have too much money to spend. I wanted to come here due to the celeb rep it has and to treat myself for my bday. I spent 8hrs here (was told it would be 4), and was treated like a piece of meat with money. My artist barely talked to me for the whole 8hrs and when I would ask him questions he would literally be cold back to me. Like who is paying who? The tattoo came out great, but I felt like I had little input and was not allowed to ask questions about the design. I dropped $2k on this medium size piece for the worst customer experience I had in a long time. Sure there are snacks, but thats minor compared to your prices. If you are wanting the red carpet treatment here, your probably not going to get it unless your JLo or something. Im from the streets so 2k aint cheap for me. All these guys are decked out in Balenciaga, giving a lot of we are better than you vibes, which I don’t appreciate tbh cuz baby no you aint, your personalities be dry as heck. REALLY WEIRD but there are a ton of mosquitos in that studio due to their aquariums. I was eatten by mosquitos my whole session and when i moved my artist scolded me. Well bro, you try staying still for 8hrs while your body is getting bitten up. I left with like 7 mosquito bites all over me. Overall, explore the other talent NYC has to offer, cuz you might save yourself a grand and have a much friendlier experience. Dont come at me now 🙌 Im going to speak my truth after paying yall 2k. Thanks.

Had booked an appointment with Rob well in advance of a visit to New York. All was done seamlessly over email. I was greeted warmly by Robert who led me to a comfortable waiting area with drinks, snacks and fruit while I waited for Rob . He confirmed my request and suggested a slight colour change . We got to it . It’s exactly what I had hoped for . Very happy . Would come again for sure.

I can’t say enough positive things about the shop overall and my experience with Rob in particular. I got 16 hours of work in two days, and the vibe of the shop made it far more bearable than I think I could handle in a bother shop.The layout of the shop is awesome because you can take in all of the work that other clients are getting done as your being tattoo’d. There is just so much to see that keeps you distracted.I will 100% be back in the future.

From the moment I walked in the experience was great Megan at the front desk made me feel so comfortable, the place was immaculate and I noticed how everything was constantly being wiped down . The pure talent these artists have is simply unmatched.2 years ago I got a tattoo done by Hector who was beyond kind and I was blown away by the time and detail he put into the piece. The attention to detail - both in planning the design and executing it - completely amazes me. I cant believe how perfect they are every time I look at them.We all know this place is priced very high, but it is 100% for a reason as you get what you pay for. Save up for a tattoo from here if you want real artwork with meaning on you for the rest of your life.

Victoria gave me a superb tattoo yesterday. Place is super clean, people are nice, music is good & they have dope snacks. Couldn’t ask for a nicer place to get gently tortured for 7 hours. 5-star experience.

I was in NYC for work and I’ve always wanted to get some ink done @ Bang Bang and just by chance, the shop set me up with Pawel who luckily had availability on just the only one Saturday I could come into the shop. I’m so glad to have met Pawel who is a true professional and perfectionist in his art, and I love so much my tattoo. I’m already thinking of the next one! Will be back to see Pawel again for sure.

Bang Bang is one of the premiere tattoo shops in the world, so it was a bucket list item to finally be tattooed here. It was a true pleasure to be tattooed by Pawel at Bang Bang. There was a bit of a delay for the appointment time due to the previous tattoo running over, but Id much rather they have the time the need for a perfect tattoo, not a problem at all. From conceptualizing the tattoo through completion, I had complete trust in Pawel and the shop and the tattoo came out better than I could have imagined. Im looking forward to making it back in for my future tattoo plans.

Very comfortable and relaxing place to get a tattoo. Staffs are friendly and professional. Downstairs is confirmed to have a big variety of drinks and snacks.I did a full day session with Jay Shin. Jay was great! Probably the most talented artist I’ve worked with. Gentle and steady hands. His work is very detailed and thoughtful with placement. The session went by surprisingly fast and not as painful as I thought. The tattoos healed well as well! Definitely coming back.

I had a session with Solar and I am very happy by the result and impressed by her fine line skills. She proposed a fee changes to the original design that I really liked and the session was very smooth, I even fell asleep at some point! The place is beautiful and they provide anything you might need. Everyone was super nice and I will def come back!

The experience was awesome. I think it was the easiest tattoo I’ve ever had and the end result was exactly what it should be. Liz’s attention to detail and placement provided a lot of confidence on the outset and her suggestions turned out to be spot on. The shop itself was clean and uncluttered. My one caveat is that the place is expensive. However, for me, it was totally worth it given the type of tattoo I wanted and knowing I was getting an artist that excelled with that type of tattoo. I had thought this might be my last tattoo but the experience makes me think I may have one or two more left to get after all.

I highly recommend getting a tattoo by Ornatus. Worth every cent. He’s very meticulous when it comes to designing the tattoo when you describe it to him. The finished product comes out even better. Friday, Nov 10 was my second visit to Bang Bang, and much like my first a couple of years ago, it was an extraordinary experience. I had a minimalist sleeve done, and Basil’s design and execution were incredible (I love it!!). Originally reached out trying to secure an appointment with Victoria but she was unavailable so Zee was recommended. It was the best thing that could happen because I could not be happier with the tattoo he created. He just moved from Korea 6 months ago so his English is still improving but he was really easy to connect with and work on the design together. And the level of detail in the tattoo was phenomenal.

I’ve been following Mr.K for about 6 years now and have always greatly admired his work. I spent a whole day at the studio, traveling in from Massachusetts to work with Nemo. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff. After completing paperwork, I was shown the lounge area to have some complimentary beverages and snacks. When I say Nemo was the best, I truly mean it. We discussed options/ideas for the dedication to my recently deceased mother. Not only am I in awe of the work he did, so are all my friends and family that have seen it. I cant say enough about the Bang Bang studio, staff, and my artist Nemo. I will be going back in the upcoming weeks as my wife will be getting a tattoo done by Nemo (her first ever).

Fully stocked fridge and snack drawer while you wait.I had my appointment with Jay Shin at noon and he immediately introduced himself upon arrival. Met me downstairs for the initial consult and was very receptive and accommodating. I had requested to change a small portion of my original tattoo idea which Jay was very happy to do. He was very calming throughout the process and I felt very comfortable and at ease during the while session. Final product was better than I could have imagined. Jay’s attention to detail is impressive and the tattoo came out immaculate. Definitely recommend this studio

I had Basil as my artist and she knocked it out of the park. I chose her because of her geometric and minimalist style. I had a simple concept of a constellation with just dots and lines, and she took it to the next level. Line work was good and her color choice was really, really good. I had virtually no setbacks and the healing process is going quite smoothly. Would definitely come back here again and recommend other friends here.

Got my awesome steampunk fish done by Jay Shin (@jayshintattoo). This was my first tattoo, and it was quite painless even over my keloids. This piece took around 5 hours. Pretty chill vibes at the studio. Staff were all very friendly in-person, email, and over the phone.

Dragon was, unsurprisingly, a cut above most tattoo artists I’ve worked with. However, beyond his immaculate skill, attention to detail, and other artistic merits, what makes Dragon truly world class is his collaboration and service for his clients. Dragon made informed design choices while creating my design to make it better, was laser focused for 10 straight hours with minimal breaks. His wife even bought us pizza to eat mid tattoo. The finished product was phenomenal. A truly unique vision that only dragon and a handful of others (most of whom work at Bang Bang) would have the skill to pull off in this form. Thank you to the whole team. I will absolutely be back.

Zee at BangBang crafted a gorgeous tattoo of something from my heritage and childhood. He spent time over the estimated time to make sure it was perfect and that I was happy. The final piece is beautiful and would be enough, but his attentiveness as well as the kindness and professionalism of the staff made the experience that much more special.

Went with my siblings to get our first-ever tattoos (lettering). Michelle knocked it out of the park - she’s SO detail oriented, gave great advice on placement and style, and patiently walked us through the design process to make us feel comfortable during this new experience. The front desk team was communicative during the booking process and so kind and welcoming once we were there IRL. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first tattoo!

My session with Zee went very well he was extremely collaborative and personable and simply did a great job all around.

This studio is the best! Not only was it very clean but everyone was very welcoming and kind from the minute I walked in and they learned that it was my first tattoo until I left hours later adorned with an amazing tattoo by Choiyun. Now that I got my first tattoo out of the way, I can’t wait to work with Choiyun on my next one. Thanks Bang Bang!

Went to Natashia with a tattoo idea and she made it even better. Couldn’t be happier with my experience and the way that the tattoo came out! Also, as a bonus they had a nice lounge to hang out in before the session.

Liz is totally a 5/5 star experience. She is so professional, conscientious, and meticulous. Her attention to detail and understanding when turning a concept into a reality is exceptional. And her work is always on point. I feel blessed to have had her work on these pieces. I won’t see anyone but her!

Had a session with Solar yesterday for a tattoo on my stomach/beneath my breasts. I was so impressed with Solars portfolio/her instagram photos, but needed some adjustments made for the specific image I wanted. This was a very special tattoo for me, and Solar understood exactly what I wanted! Additionally, the actual tattoo job was hard, because I have lost ALOT of weight (like 200 pounds!) so the skin on my stomach is very loose and delicate. This meant that the tattoo took much longer then expected and more difficult. But Solar kept me comfortable and didnt charge me any extra for all of her hard work. Lastly, the studio space itself is awesome, cool but comfy vibe. Overall my best tattoo experience to date!!! Thanks Solar!!!

Bang Bang is the only place I go for my ink. And Liz is a phenomenal artist. She knows exactly what looks best. I trust her completely, as is obvious by the fact that she’s done 5 tattoos for me.

The entire experience was incredible, when I walked in I was greeted by Megan, who was very kind and friendly. And Mr. K did an amazing job with the tattoo. Very receptive to my opinions and very friendly. I will definitely be going back to him for my next tattoo.

Have been to Bang Bang 5 or 6 times now and specifically Georgia Grey for any tattoos involving color. Georgia is an absolute master artist. Her vision and ability to translate what you’re looking for into a tattoo is unmatched. And the staff at Bang Bang are helpful communicative and super friendly. The space has the highest level of cleanliness and comfortability. For the last 6 years Bang Bang is the only place I go for tattoos.

My first experience at Bang Bang Grand was incredible. I went to Kozo and he was extremely down to earth and I couldnt have been more satisfied with my tattoo. He is truly incredible and all of the artists seem like healthy perfectionists who care deeply about their craft. They are extremely creative individuals. Id recommend anyone to get tattood here. I actually think Im spoiled now because I wont want to settle for anything less! Haha.

My first experience at Bang Bang was AMAZING! I worked with KOZO. The studio was very comfortable. The staff were all welcoming and lovely. My tattoo was in celebration of my Dad who passed and was very emotional for me. Not my first tattoo, but the most personal and important to me. KOZO was perfect and I was very grateful that we worked together. His talent is breathtaking and he made me feel so very comfortable. We discussed the design in detail and landed on something so perfect that I cannot stop looking at it. I will continue to work with KOZO and look forward to returning to Bang Bang. Sometimes people exceed your expectations and without a doubt, KOZO did just that.
