Kas was literally amazing! I went in to get my couch piercing and she was extremely sweet and talked me through the whole process, step by step. 2 days later there was an accident that caused my peircing to come out due to a large impact hitting my ear and when I came back in she was eager to help me get it fixed. She was very gentle and sweet about it. I will definitely be coming back to this place to get my future piercings based off this visit! I am extremely satisfied!

I was helped immediately by the two piercers here to select jewelry and an alternate placement to a rook piercing I’d been told will not work with my anatomy.They suggested a “flat” ear piercing placement, it’s in the same area but sits dead center.They were both patient and very knowledgeable. I’ll definitely be back for on the other ear :)Thanks Kass and girl with the cute glasses!!

I really like this shop and staff. The front staff is super friendly and helpful. Tyler the tattoo artist rocks at what he does. Hes done work on two of my daughters and myself. Todays piece was so special to me and he turned my idea into a gorgeous work of art. I am absolutely in love with my newest art! I cant wait for my next appointment.

I went in to get a jewelry change and an old piercing put back in. Kas was the lovely piercer I had the pleasure of interacting with. I got a rook piercing on Friday the 13th by Kas and she did an amazing job! Even though she had been doing them all day (I got mine around 7:30pm), it was perfect and she was so thorough explaining the process. 10/10

My two friends and I went for there Friday the 13th sale we all got piercings. Both my friends got ear piercings done by Rayne she was very laidback and made them so comfortable, super fast and efficient. I got my nipples pierced by Schandra, I was super super nervous. She told some jokes calmed me down and then pierced them super fast and steady. The piercing were very symmetrical. So thankful she did my piercing, will definitely be coming back.

Yesterday was my 4th piercing I’ve gotten from Kass and every time I feel so comfortable with the entire experience they definitely help me feel more confident in getting my piercings done! Love themSo far they’ve done my ears, belly button, and now my eyebrow, now I’m already planning more.

First time coming here. Ive been following Davy Sheets for years. Has tattooed me over 15 times. So when he moved to this location I had to go see him. He did a great job as always. Great conversation and even better work! The building itself was pretty neat. The best experience I have had in any tattoo shop. My artist Rob did an amazing job with my Ann Hathaway (white queen) and my piercer Kas was the best she did an great job with my piercings calming and walked me through everything I had to do with my after care. Everyone was so nice. highly recommend if anyone is getting a tattoo or piercing.

Michael was great! He took my concept of idea for the rework of a tattoo and ran with it and made it even better than Id had in mind. He was able to take something I was unhappy with and turn it into a while new piece of work without it being a coverup. VERY reasonable prices but truly the artistry is why Ill continue to go back

Kas was amazing, I got both my nose and conch peirced and while I was not too nervous she explained everything and was just overall a very comforting person. Everyone else at the shop was also amazing, very kind, and transparent. 100/10 recommend and will be going back!

Kas was great and helped me tremendously.My nose piercings were healing pretty bad due to my cheap choice in jewelry, she replaced them with better ones and made the whole thing quick and painless. My piercings are already looking better and seem to be healing nicely . Definitely recommend!

The ladies were amazing! They were welcoming, understanding, explained everything while walking me through it, they even joked with me while doing my piercings to help ease the air. Kass was my piercer and did an amazing job at guiding me through every step of the way! I’m not good with needles outside of tattooing and Kass made the process so easy while placing them perfectly and symmetrically on the first try when marking! Even helped me find more options to follow my work regulations!

Went to go get my septum pierced yesterday for black Friday ,& the year before that I got a tattoo and safe to say i am in love 10/10 would do again & the experience was amazing I had a swear heart for a piercer definitely would recommend for tattoos & piercings

I went in to get my nose pierced( side note - I have a low pain tolerance and don’t get many piercings) and Kas did an amazing job !! Very professional and walked through each step . Not to mention the process was very quick! Kas also was very knowledgeable on every question I had. All in all I will most definitely be going back and asking for Kas !!

I’ve been coming to Anavrin over the past years. Half of my tattoos were from here by different artists (both still look great) I also get my most of my jewelry from here . Today I came in to get nipple piercing with friends and we were both nervous. Both Kas & Katie (so sorry if I’m spelling names wrong!) calmed us down and cheered us on to get it. Kas was very patient with me and quick. I appreciate it and will definitely be back. Katie did her thing too on my friend ! No matter who I’ve been to for a tat or piercing they did what needed to be done … so yeah Come here you won’t be disappointed !!

I called ahead for walk-in service and was greeted by Kas. She handled my service from payment to piercing my nose. She was great! I had prior experience and this was way better. She also provided me with aftercare.

I wouldnt really recommend getting pierced here for a bridge, when dotted for placement i told the piercer it was asymmetrical and she didnt fix it and my piercing came out asymmetrical. was advised by multiple people to take it out after sending pictures, i did remove it after taking an NSAID and spraying with saline and after i removed it i saw the piercing holes were not even. externally threaded jewelry was used and no piercing ive ever had has used that since initially piercers are supposed to use internally threaded barbells because external threading irritates the fresh piercing. im also unsure what metal was used since i wasnt told. im extremely disappointed since in the past i have had my bridge done symmetrically when it was done by a professional but was having issues with my immune system which lead to me removing it. i was kind of anxious to be pierced here because imo there werent many reviews of piercings but i badly wanted my favorite one back and done correctly. the way it came out is how it has looked in the past when i personally had redone it and i cried when i got home and examined it further

More then happy with my tattoo today. My first time here most say I love the place. Clean, great staff, awesome atmosphere. John is the man , did a beautiful lion piece on me today. Wife and I got matching tattoos here. 90% of the tats are great but michael made a mistake on the eyes. They were supposed to be Ying yang style with colors from the others tat. They cant be fixed either because of the direction of the wrong colors. His response its not the end of the world, its just an eye I had written this specific request on the paperwork and he didnt even apologize. Throughout the experience I tried to connect with him on something, anything really. Sparking up conversations about anything I could think of. We didnt have any similar interests which isnt a complaint, some people dont have anything in common. However when I mentioned a couple of my favorite concerts that I had gone to, michael called me a loser. What? Dont get me wrong, the man is a fantastic artist but thats not everything when getting ink. If you go, take headphones and dont engage with him and youll probably be fine; unless you wrote something down in the instructions then you might have a permanent mistake.

I got my septum pierced by Kas. She was so sweet and confident. Did not hurt at all!! Definitely recommend getting a piercing by her.

I just got my belly button re-pierced by Kass and she was so gently and also friendly! Definitely go to her for any piercing needs!

I got a daith pericing done, they put a earring meant for a belly button or eyebrow pericing!! So it came undone at the top like an hour an a half later, went back they screwed it back on tighter, that lasted about 2 days then It came fully out while I was doing the normal cleaning process. Not very happy they put the wrong earring in and it came out twice.

Got my left nostril pierced by Kas today, they were such an angel and breathed me through it. They talked with me through the whole thing, making sure I was comfy and happy with the placement. A beautiful parlor with a close knit work environment, always love to see it. They did a fantastic job, and I’ll definitely be coming back.

I need a touch up on the tiny one, but Mike (@ironpawart on IG) is fantastic. He has tattooed my entire family (we all did memorial tattoos for our burnt house, he had such an amazing attitude through it all. Mine is the magnolia flowers.) and knows us all and he always does an amazing job. I love him as a person and I love his art! He has the perfect gentle touch and he’s awesome. I will always only choose him or somebody at Anavrin for my tattoos. They always do a great job. Love y’all!

There were the first piercings ive gotten in about four years (septum and conch), and i went in pretty nervous about how they would feel. kas did my conch, and i absolutely could not feel anything when she gave me the piercing. it was very gentle, she was very communicative about the steps she was going through, and she was all in all a very comforting presence as that,was the first i got out of the two. katy was very awesome as well, she was able to walk me through the general steps in terms of everything i do for aftercare. both were very quick, and while i did feel pressure when katy did my septum, it didnt actually hurt very much, MAYBE a pinch, but i would really say it was an itch. all in all, i plan on coming back very soon for another piercing. the shop had great vibes, and i was serviced immediately. could not stress how much i loved kas and katy, they felt like some friends i would hang out with outside of the shop, really, thats how well i liked them. if i could give more than five stars, i would!

This most recent time, the belly ring I bought needed a specific type of base and everyone jumped in to help. Victoria and Kass were especially helpful, with Kass even coming up with a unique ring for me to have while I wait on the base to come in. This shop is committed to helping everyone find what they need, even if they have to order it special. I’ll always come here!

I got my second cartilage done on both sides, my helix on both sides, and my nose pierced. The lady is super super sweet, she is very funny, and gives you great tips on aftercare. She did a great job and does not rush you, whether you are applying the dot for where you want your piercing, and when she is doing the actual piercing part. I love this place, everybody there is so welcoming.

I came in on Friday for a septum piercing after waiting almost an hour and a half at Blue Horseshoe for their piercer to come back from where ever she went. It was amazing service and the vibe was great. I was greeted basically as soon as I opened the door and they were genuinely happy to see me vs when I walked into Blue Horseshoe. The evaluation was great, I have been told at other places my nose wouldn’t be good for a septum piercing because of its anatomy, BUT the nice lady assured me that it would just need to be adjusted a little bit and to use heavier jewelry so it sits better than lighter jewelry. It was virtually painless, the nervousness before hand is what gets you lol. It came out amazing, I’ve followed the care instructions and the healing process has been a breeze. Love this place!

Got pierced here and absolutely loved the experience, their lobby has so many cool things in it and the energy is super fun. My piercer was so sweet and taught me and my friends something new today. She hyped me up through the whole experience. I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else after going here, amazing and clean environment left feeling good and learned something new. The price was a lot less than I went in there thinking it would be. Their card reader does take a 10% fee and they made me aware of this before I used my card. (Ik someone else made a comment about the card fees)

I went to this place a few weeks ago, and I got tattooed by James, he is awesome, super friendly. I described him the idea of what I wanted and he designed something nice for me. I really loved the results. Very professional and clean place. Fully recommended!

Anavrin is my go to place for tattoos and piercings. Do not bother with anywhere else cuz youve found the best. I have had piercings done previously by Hazel and the new apprentice, Kass, changed my daith hoop out for me today. Rev did my most recent ink as an apprentice (in June) and he was meticulous with placement and did a gorgeous job! I get compliments daily! All of the other artists that work here are amazing as well but i cannot remember everyones name! Thsnk you guys for being cool and working hard to hone your passion!

I came here to get 3 piercings, I paid for all them and then they notified me the reg piercer was not there and they could only do one of the piercings bc only she knows how to do them. It would have been nice to tell me before I just paid for all 3. It was weird. Also, they charge a $20 fee to use a credit card. Which is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard and pretty sketchy. I’ve heard of a couple dollars but not $20.

I’ve gotten 2 piercers from the piercer and it’s been great. The piercer is amazing and her work is fantastic. She’s done 2 out of 8 facial piercings and by far she’s been the most professional piercer yet. She denied me one piercing due to my anatomy which would have cause complications while other piercers would have done it anyway without warning me. Her piercing area is also very comforting and so are her apprentices. I’m moving out of VA soon but I will only ever go here for piercings. Also the prices are extremely reasonable and she’s hyped me up for both of my piercings. As a body mod/piercing enthusiast of years; I highly recommend here.

I had a nostril piercing done at another location, however four days later part of my piercing fell down the drain. I went here to get it replaced, the staff suggested I go with a L shape instead of the straight bar I had done (I don’t recommend that for first time piercers). That whole staff was friendly and professional and made me feel valued as a customer. The young woman that replaced my piercing was awesome. She was gentle and talked me through everything! Will definitely be going back!!

I honestly had an awesome experience here getting my first tattoos. Layla helped me out on the front desk and she was super nice and personable while Ian was the artist who ended up tattooing me. They both had really good energy and Ian was super clean with his work and I felt comfortable asking any questions I needed to while it was all going on. He seemed really meticulous with his work and wanted to make sure I had the exact placement I wanted with my tattoos.Everything was super quick since they were small tattoos and I was in and out of the shop in probably no less than 40 minutes. I am a dark skin African guy so I was really worried about keloids (something that held me back from getting tattoos for awhile) as well and those concerns were equally addressed which I really appreciated Ian as an artist being sensitive and knowledgeable toward. Big plus there! A week later everything is healing normally and I love the art more each time I look at it. Thanks yall!

I got my nose pierced here and I had a great experience. The shop was super clean and the staff were friendly there. I was going to go to blue horseshoe originally but I had the worst experience trying to get in there. Took two trips out to Hampton (I live 5 minutes away from Williamsburg) just to be turned around and told no. I gave Anavrin a call, and they were very welcoming. I had my 8 year old brother with me, and they were super nice about having him around, and didnt try to push him out just because he was under 13(which is what happened at blue horseshoe the second time I went. Overall I paid a good price for the piercing and Im super impressed with their service. The woman who pierced me apologized for the surroundings, but honestly I thought they were super cool. I am very happy I chose to go here instead. Thank you guys so much if you ever see this :)

If you want anything pierced, even ears, please go to a professional place like Anavrin. The mall kiosks and shops are more expensive, and the employees have minimal training. When I took my daughter for a cartilage piercing at Anavrin, the employees were friendly, professional, and really fantastic about explaining what they were doing and keeping my daughter from becoming anxious. We will be returning!

My cousin and i went in last week for belly button piercings. now the piercing looks like it’s being consumed by the swelling. thought it was because the bar was too small. after research and talking to other professionals, turns out it was pierced too far back. the woman who did us was so sweet and the shop was beautiful and clean. my cousin is having the same issues as i am.not trying to write a bad review, just wanted to share our experience.

So basically I went here initially for a tattoo and the service was not to good. A lot of treatment I believe was based on race. So I just left all together. Went here second time to get a piercing replaced. The guy recommended me to get a certain type, I paid and her notified me that the piercer was not there. This was a little annoying because he could’ve to me that initially to save time. I came back got my nose stud put it and it came out in 2 weeks. Called them back because this should never happened if your not messing with the piercing. Everyone was very nonchalant, as if it wasn’t a big deal. Yeah long story short if you want to save money, don’t come here.

I had an amazing experience. They made me feel comfortable and safe. I went for a tongue piercing and my ears pierced. She piercer was wonderful and very professional. The atmosphere was calming and a throw back to my past. I love this experience and definitely will come back.

Bought new jewelry & had one of the ladies switch it out for me. The ball fell off about an hour later. I went back to have her put the ball back on - ended up putting my original jewelry back in. Few hours later.. ball fell off. Again. I’ve had this same jewelry in since 2018. This is my first time swapping it. Never had an issue until now. I’m going to go to the original piercing shop in Va Beach tomorrow to have them properly secure the jewelry. As for the jewelry I purchased, she was nice enough to swap it for a hoop and I put it in another piercing. I don’t think this is the place to go for piercings.

I got my first tattoo at Anavrin Tattoo the other day. Ian Butler is amazing to work with! I wanted some text/script on my ribs, but I wasn’t 100% certain how I wanted it to look. I showed Ian what I was thinking and gave him some general idea of the “feel” I was after. He spent a few minutes brainstorming & came up with an idea that built on my concept and made it even better. He was a stickler for the placement, and reapplied the stencil until it was perfect. He did a fabulous job on the tattoo, no damage to my skin, and its healing great. I LOVE this tattoo shop. The people are so kind and welcoming, definitely not a hostile environment. It is so warm and loving, I felt very safe here. I have been to other shops where I have felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome, and anavrin is the complete opposite. Shonda pierced my nose and she was so lovely! She was so kind and warm and loving, could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you guys so much! :)

Came in today for a piercing and they seemed super busy. Still got to me very quickly, they seem very organized in their scheduling, and I was able to get my piercing immediately. Everyone was super sweet.

I had a very important piece that Morgon did and it turned out beautifully. They were kind, accepting, understanding, clean, and amazing to be around. They allowed for breaks and were extremely helpful in the aftercare instructions. I’m incredibly happy with my first tattoo and am so glad to have had such an amazing artist do it!

All that I can say is I never made a mistake choosing this tattoo parlor. I received my very first tattoo on August the 6th a tattoo artist name is Mike hands down he is absolutely amazing and listen to everything that I had to say about where Im trying to go went starting my process.. but honestly to tell you the truth everyone in there has absolutely wonderful personalities outstanding customer service and cant wait to return.Very clean all staff was very polite and helpful

I’ll start with the positive: the tattoo artists are fantastic and did amazing work even during a super busy Friday the 13th sale. I love the tattoo I got and it was super sterile. The tattoo artist made sure I liked the placement and walked me through everything. All the employees are friendly, however when piercing they should be professional and be knowledgeable. I got another helix piercing and it hurt more than anything else I’ve gotten. It was swollen and throbbed for two weeks after while constantly getting caught because the piercer said they ran out of normal sized barbells, so he put a very large barbell sticking out of my ear. After going back twice and getting told to “max out on ibuprofen” for at least a week, I went somewhere else to get it taken out. Turns out, the piercer chose the worst and thickest part of my cartilage to pierce, and pierced it at a sharp angle. Avoid the hassle, get pierced somewhere else.

Got my second tattoo today (first from Anavrin) and am super thrilled. Morgon worked with me all week to perfect the design, even dealing with my midnight-before-the-day changes. She was kind, professional, sweet and accomodating. The booths are clean and everyone was really nice!!! 10/10

When I called the shop the people were very friendly and I felt like I would be comfortable going there. When my mom and I arrived the the shop was soooo nice, well kept, and looked super clean and legit. The service was great. We only went to get a nose piercing so I cant speak on the tattooing but my overall experience was amazing.

I have a lot of mixed feelings because the owner is SO NICE and professional but new piercings should be done with internally threaded jewelry rather the the externally threaded that I received. One of the bearded tattoo guys also never follows mask protocol. He will stand right there in the lobby never wearing one RIGHT next to their table with the hand sanitizer and their sign saying masks are required. Same guy has hit on me a few times in the past. Not in a subtle way. I dont know how hes still there because everyone else there is way more friendly and professional.Based on the books they have there their art is okay.

Schöndra the piercer is awesome she did both my lobes and was patient with me when I became nervous. She gave me tips to calm down and even put on music for me. The shop is always very clean there wasnt even a speck of dust that I could see. Whoever cleans the shop does a really good job. And the big dude with the beard was very kind and did not try to fight my mother. Each booth was very sanitary there were disinfectants gloves and paper towels in each booth. But while being clean eatch was unique with the artist decor and work. Morgans booth has to be my favorite. I see why this shop is called anavrin its like your walking into the back of nirvana and its like a whole new world. Every one there is very kind and professional. Every question I had about a peirceing was answered right away. I dont think I could have found a better experience.

Got my first tattoo here 2 months ago on my finger. The guy was nice and did an ok job. After the tattoo healed there were areas that defiantly needed to be touched up. When I called the guy on the phone told me they didnt guarantee finger tattoos and to come by and they would take a look at it. I did and he told me again they didnt guarantee finger tats and that would have been discussed with me. When I explained this was my first tattoo and nothing like that was discussed with me, he said he found that hard to believe. So you are calling me a liar? What do I have to lie about? At the end of the day your guy did average work and nothing was explained to me about the process or what to expect from it. I will never go here again for anything even if it was free. Such bad customer service. Not everyone who comes into your shop has tattoos all over their body and knows off hand what to expect. And good customer service would fix their work and not question the guest.

Great establishment. When you walk in you feel welcome and you get a sense that the artists love what they do. It is also refreshing to have artist that give you their honest opinion and feedback on your ideas for a tattoo. The shop is nice and bright with comfortable chairs for longer sessions. Awesome spot.

Mike was friendly, made good conversation, and drew my mental image in more moments of me explaining it. Will be back to have my old ink touched up. Professional, friendly, quick, gave me all the information for my first tattoo from an actual shop and how to take care of it, plus had good tunes and a cool look to the place. 10/10 fyi the price is more than worth it

Honestly it was a very quick experience. Super lovely. The piercer hypes you up and gasses you up so hard. I went today for a set of piercings and I will definitely be returning for tattoos and more piercings in the future. 💞

The tattoos were fine but the piercings were god aweful. The man was clearly not trained well and pierced through the thickest cartilage instead of the smooth part. As soon as he stuck the needle in my ear, the phone rang and he told me that he had to pick up (despite the needle resting on my neck) and let me sit there for around two minutes. Eventually I had to take the piercing out because it was done at an awkward angle and instead of using a stud, he pierced the cartilage with a barbell. Do NOT go here for piercings! THEY ARE NOT SAFE!

I brought my daughter to get her ears pierced on her 4th birthday and had an amazing experience. Schondra was so great with my daughter, she explained the whole process to her, took her time and listened to everything she said. It was such a great experience!

I initially called to get an appointment for me and my 5 other friends that all wanted to get piercings and was told they don’t offer appointments and to just come when the piercer was there. I had to call back 30 mins later to figure out a time frame she would be there (11-5pm). So me and my friends show up at 12. We get told the piercer isn’t there yet and to come back in an hour and 30mins. Ok, we go eat literally next door and come right back and there is a new host at the door and he says the piercer just left for lunch ( how do you just show up for work and then go on a lunch break ?). We all just left and went somewhere else. Save yourself time and go to an establishment where people want to actually work.

I had a piercing performed by Schondra whom is informative and knowledgeable about everything related to the piercing I needed (daith), as well as medical concerns. I would recommend her and her shops any day.

Came in from out of town. Called the shop from the hotel and was told they had spots available for walk in tattoos. I told the guy what I was interested in getting and he asked me to be there around 2. I called and Uber and arrived at the shop about 1:15. I was then told that all artist were booked and had been booked for the day. I was then told that the guy answering the phone was green and didnt know what he was doing.Lost 40.00 on Uber and my time. Very unprofessional shop. Might be a good thing I didnt a a tattoo from them.

Went in for a nose stud this afternoon. Without being explained what kind it was. I’m used to the “pin” type. Not the screw. Went back in and they could tell I wasn’t happy about it. Did not offer to give me back my money. It is way too tiny for my nose hole. What a complete waste of $25

I thought this would be a great place to get a tattoo but I guess I was wrong...A guy was outside having a smoke I spoke to him he ignored me😶..Ok so I go inside this guy comes out hes looking around as if someone else should be talking to me but the area was empty.I asked him if I was suppose to be helped by him he said yea I guess...Lol he continued to look around and blow me off about my desired tattoo Ive been waiting to get for awhile... I then asked him which folder/binder was his to see his work. He pointed in the direction of the binders but didnt show me which one and of course all of the work over there was by J. James kick A@! Artist Ive seen all over social media... The guy then just walked off he said he had to get back to this guy. Wow!!! this first impression was horrible. Staff members was rude and akward. Im saddened my first impression failed my expectations I was looking forward to getting a very special tattoo to cherish forever and I chose this place before any other to have it done.... Glad I saw these 2 employees true colors and unprofessionalism up close and personal rather than on my ink work

It pays to ask questions and be weary about getting a tattoo that you will have to wear for the first of your life. At first I was excited about this place. But I guess anyone can open a tattoo place these days. If youre looking for originality then this is not the place. If youre looking for the artistic wow effect that you want from a tattoo then this is not the place. I gave a tattoo artist pictures in order to get inspiration and ideas from them. I didnt expect for him to just copy and paste them onto a screen. There was no artistic or free style value at all. So if youre wanting to get a tattoo with a little bit originality then this is not the place for you. You have to live with for the rest of your life and you want one that youll love Id definitely shop around and go somewhere else. Also it vey unprofessional to attack customers on social platforms but maybe thats the type of business you guys run. Lack of originality. Amateurs at best. Buyers beware!

Question will be how in the world they have this a good business to get art... is shameful... we felt like he want to do a prison tattoo. My tattoo come from California and Panama City Beach Florida and Puerto Rico real art is made from heart not for the price, this are the best tourists places to get a real tattoo... WITH ALL THEIR HEART THEY SHINE ART... Not refundable deposit cause what??? (Starvation) like I said never thought they will played like that, if I knew wouldn’t never put my money on that place.
