Steven Fruzyna did a fantastic job with me and my sisters matching tattoos! He was very easy to work with, great personality, and made us feel very comfortable throughout. I love this shop so much! I have gone there for 10/12 of my piercings (all except for my first lobes) and every experience has been exceptional. Pictures of my ear piercings bellow 😇My last trip there was shortly before they closed for the night and they were more than happy to take me in, it was much appreciated! Both Sam and Jesse are kind and informative; I will definitely continue to come here!

DO NOT GO HERE. To begin with theyre not professional as they dont even greet you when you walk in. I walked in and was ignored while I stood there awkwardly at the front desk staring at the two girls on their phones till I was acknowledged. I had my navel pierced there 2 weeks ago and they didnt explain anything during/after the process just did it in 5min and told me to check my email for instructions. Fine, whatever. Well when I get home i realized it was pierced ABOVE my navel not through my navel, I went back and they assured me it was done correctly due to my anatomy so I let it go. Well in the last couple days Ive noticed my bar is way too short to compensate for the swelling and the jewels were becoming embedded in the holes as it fit snug to begin with on the day of. Any other piercing Ive had done the piercer ALWAYS placed a longer bar to help compensate for the swelling and then had me go in weeks later to have it replaced with a shorter one once the swelling had subsided, well not with Maritime. Today I decided to call a way better piercer listed on the Association Of Professional Piercers website to see if they could replace my bar with a longer one they said yes and I went in to have it replaced only to have them confirm that it WAS done incorrectly and NOT due to my anatomy. They said I have the anatomy for a PROPER navel piercing NOT a floating surface navel which is what they did. Even IF I didnt have the anatomy that shouldve been explained so I could make the decision of whether or not I wanted to go through with it but they didnt, like I said they didnt explain anything during the process and just went ahead and stuck the needle in. The piercer at the new place removed it and told me to let it heal a minimum of one month before I can have it redone. I feel ripped off and disappointed because when I asked they could have just told me yeah unfortunately it was done incorrectly and offered to remove it and redo it correctly at no charge after it heals but instead they blatantly lied to my face and assured me it was fine. Keep in mind Im very nice and I was extremely nice when I went in to ask about it while they were rude and blamed my anatomy. Yes, its cheap and youll pay $60 but just go to a better place and pay the extra $40 to have it done properly with care and professionalism to avoid rejection, nasty scarring and the headache of trying to heal an improperly done piercing or in my case having to get it removed and then pay AGAIN to have it redone properly.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR PIERCINGSJesse does not have 20+ years of experience. Or any location for that matter. Go to body piercings by tracy a reliable shop that will pierce you with the correct bar to accommodate for swelling. Had my Medusa repierced at maritime and Jesse pierced me with too short of a bar to accommodate for my lip size and the fact it was pierced over scar tissue. Go to someone like the girls at body piercings by tracy, who know what theyre doing and wont be a jackass to you.

Amazing shop. I’ve had work done by Mike Jupp (Dragon) Mike Deering (North County-sorry it’s a little blurry) and Mathias Moretti (SD and touch up of my kanji). They all did a phenomenal job. Clean, fun, and super friendly. Top quality work. I love this place.

Tattoo artist we saw amazing 5 stars!!!! But it was really hot in that shop. I think they need to turn the a/c on bc being in there for 3-4 hours with no ac is torture!!!

I loved Jesse was so gentle and friendly I was very nervous when I arrived and what it occurred to me to ask him was if it hurt a lot and he told me that everything would be fine only in the seconds then not anymore and he did it so fast that I could hardly handle it when I felt the needle was already inside and it was beautiful if I had more stars I would put them all😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️❤️

Had a tattoo done 2 weeks ago and the artist was great but I was sweating a lot during the session and would have definitely liked if the A/C was on

Talented tattoo artist and gentle piercer. I got a septum, nose, and ear piercings and they were barely felt and fast. I got a tiny butterfly tattoo that was very intricate and better than I expected. Love this place!

Came in for a walk-in eye brow piercing, had no wait time. Paid $74, including a tip and a fee. Jesse was super quick as well and very professional. Didnt hurt too bad, kinda how it feels when getting your ears pierced. Got aftercare instructions and was on my way, 10/10 would definitely get another piercing here.

Front desk gal was not the kindest, seemed very bugged and impatient when multiple customers were in. Ricky was amazing and very kind.

Highly recommend maritime tattoo. ron hendrix did my latest tattoo which i love. ron helped me build a really meaningful piece of art i could put on my body forever. i really recommend ron hendrix and mike jupp they personalize the idea i come in with and i get something i love even more. they are both amazing artists and my other tattoos by mike jupp look amazing as well!!

I got my septum pierced for the first time today with Jesse. It was an amazing experience. He was very kind and kept me calm. The piercing was fast and less painful than I thought it would be. He went over aftercare instructions clearly and answered my questions. Thank you Jesse!

I got an eyebrow piercing here as a walk-in. i had the piercer Sam, and she was INCREDIBLE. first of all, the service was amazing and everybody was so kind. i told them i was anxious and asked if maybe i could have Sam just consult me before any decisions were made, and she waved me back with a huge smile and talked through all my concerns and helped me seriously find exactly what i wanted. we did lots of purple dots until i was happy and she seriously was so sweet about it all (as someone who’s had BAD experience with piercings, this was really kind in my eyes). once we figured it out, i paid (and it was so much cheaper then i thought it would be!) and we did it! it was so fast, flawless, and honestly very painless!!!! i am so pleased and absolutely recommend this shop for any piercing you’re thinking of!!!! ❤️❤️❤️ THANK YOU SAM!!!

I’ve been to this shop before about a year and a half ago and got a badly done tattoo from a very cocky artist. But I was hopeful that this experience would be better, because they rotate artists from their other shops and get new ones often.As soon as I walked in a very short man who worked there pushed his way around me from behind and cussed at me, because I didn’t move fast enough for him. Then once they acknowledged me I asked “Hi, I’m just wondering how long it would be for a walk in tattoo, or how many people you have on the list?” (Just simply wanting to know how long it would be to talk to an artist or if they’re completely booked for that day. This is the responsibility of all shops and how you do your job as the front desk) She was incredibly rude and just said “I mean how long is a piece of string?” and looked at me with a disgusting judgmental face. Then said “you could get in or not” I just simply said “okay no problem thank you” and left.Not only do you get treated like an inconvenience you don’t even get the respect of knowing a rough estimate of time as a customer. As someone who lives in Oceanside and has worked right next door from this establishment, I would highly recommend going to the plethora of other great shops in our area. And not a shop that only caters to pumping in and out tourists for a quick buck.

I’ve been to so many piercers but out of them all I would recommend Jesse a million times. Got my daith and nose pierced and the process was fast, he knew what he was doing so it was painless and he provided helpful aftercare tips. 10/10 for the shop and the vibes in there as well.

I went here a few months ago to get snake bites and the service was great everyone was friendly and had good information on after care and how to prevent infection, the shop was beautiful and clean. That’s really the only good thing about this place and their piercing skills. I chose a hoop for my lip piercings which, turns out, is really bad for healing and pain.. which it was. the jewelry was way too big to heal comfortably.. I went back to change my jewelry because it was so painful, the stud a woman put in was way too short, the inside of my lip started to grow over the back of the jewelry after a few hours.. I ordered some jewelry that I HAD to put in. With all this changing jewelry all within two months of having it pierced, made the piercings grow bumps which ultimately made me take them out… it was also pierced totally wrong.. way too close to my lip line and not pierced evenly.. I spent over 120$ on these snake bite piercings just to take them out.. great looking shop and your tattoos look good, but your piercing was just a nightmare for me

This was an impulsive decision while in town for a getaway and was really nervous about trusting a random shop with my design, but Mathias did such a fantastic job. Front desk staff was super helpful and informative and my tattoo turned out better than I could have hoped for! They listened well, executed flawlessly on what I was looking for, and the conversation during the work was great! And the price was waaay cheaper than what I’ve been quoted back home in Denver! Quality for a great price!!You should totally go for it!!

I’ve been here for my nose piercing as well as my daughters ears. We saw Jesse both times and had a wonderful experience! Jesse was informative, kind, and very skilled. The shop is extremely clean and the staff are all friendly. Would recommend this shop over and over!

I had a piercing done by a gentleman named Jesse. He was a nice guy who did a great job of putting me at ease. Im happy with my piercing and would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a piercing. I came Sunday morning and there was no wait. Between registering at the front desk and the actual piercing, I was in and out in approximately 15 minutes.

Got my ears pierced early in the morning. There was no waiting time. The price was good in my opinion ($67 including tip and a fee for paying with credit card). Both the front desk clerk and the man that worked on the piercings were nice. The job was painless in my opinion.

Got a piercing done a couple days ago. They charge you first before getting any service done. I liked the front desk lady she was very kind. But the piercer I think her name was Samantha, was kind of rushing the work. I walked in after they called me to tell me she’s ready for me and I didn’t think Samantha knew I was there but she was like, “if she’s down the street I’ll go get her”. Sorry I paid you to do your job. I would recommend going somewhere else to avoid this type of attitude.

I got a decent size tattoo last night from Mathias , he got it done within 3 hours and that was including 3 10minute smoke breaks . Also is good at holding a convo . The lady that pierced my tragus did it so fast and painless as well . Would / will come back for more . Thank you

I came in 30 minutes to closing time so i told them that there was no pressure in me getting a piercing if they wanted to go home. the man at the front desk with tattoos on his head insisted that he could fit me in quickly so i picked out my jewelry. i had my cousin with me who inquired about some jewelry, and the guy answered her in the most condescending way possible. he was extremely dismissive and wanted to get things over with while i uncomfortably prepared to get pierced. i think they have you pay and tip beforehand because of this guy who very clearly makes people feel unsafe in his own shop. even his own coworkers were super avoidant. i went back into the booth and he promptly kicked my cousin out, saying “it’s for customers only,” so she had to wait at the front while i got it done alone. i understand certain policies but the vibe he gave off made me feel really uncomfortable to get my piercing. i only brought her along for moral support (which i’ve done at countless other shops with no issues) but for some reason he didn’t like her and came at her. as for the piercing, it went smoothly. i just think that this guy (who i’m pretty sure is the owner) really needs to consider his tone and manner with others as i have read several other reviews about his inappropriate behavior.

Edit: I appreciate you responding to this but wow, “we do apologize for not starting on you right at 3pm” I am not upset that we didn’t start right on time, I completely understand that things happen, but the fact that it was a whole hour and there was no communication from anyone was disrespectful, a simple “ we apologize, we are running an hour late” would have sufficed instead of wondering what was going on. Communication is key.From what the reviews say you charge before piercings too, so justify it however you want, it is uneasy to pay before receiving service. Perhaps that detail should be communicated in the initial consultation to avoid the element of surprise on tattoo day. But it is your business, and it is unfair to dock a whole star because I don’t agree with the way you run it. 4/5 and wish you the best.The stars that I gave the business are not a reflection of the talented artist I worked with. JP tattooed a beautiful piece of art and he gets 5 stars.The way this place is running gets the 3 stars from me. The stars goes to their initial communication skills, from the initial email I sent out, I got a quick response and was able to schedule a consultation within a week. I appreciated the initial consultation, meeting the artist and running some ideas. Then, is scheduling with the person in the front, and paying a 50 dollar deposit, which goes towards your tattoo and it’s very reasonable. I was asked if I had a budget and I didn’t but after saying it, I felt like I had walked into weird trap, like they can now charge me as much as they wanted . But who knows. I wish they could just tell me upfront how much the artist charges.Okay so 24 hours before my tattoo appointment they send a text message reminder. On the day of the appointment I get a call to confirm it. So obviously they care about punctuality…wrong!I show up at 2:58pm for my 3:00pm appointment. By around 3:30 the artist comes out to show me the stencil and then I don’t get back there until 4pm!! Get this though. While I am waiting, the person in the front has the audacity to say, “I can ring you up while you’re waiting” what in the actual F. Definitely caught me of guard because I’ve never paid up front for my previous tattoos. In addition, you’re expected to include the tip upfront before even receiving the service! AND you’re charged a freaking fee for using you debit card! It’s not like this is a small transaction. Even at my nail salon which costs 15 dollars for a manicure, they don’t charge for a damn card fee. It is a very uncomfortable and unsettling way of doing business! Are they afraid someone will run out of there without paying?While I am waiting a couple of people walk in asking for piercings and the front lady has no clue when the piercer will come back and sends them away. It just added to the unprofessional vibe I was getting.I love my tattoo, but the whole experience was tainted by the lack of respect for my time and strange transactional practice. Not once was their an apology from the front desk lady. But please, charge me while I’m waiting. It took all of my zen to not walk out. It was 450 (not including tip) I hope the artist gets most of it. I would love to work with him again but I would never want to go to that shop again.

Came in to pierce my Tragus and have some other earrings switched out. Jessie was amazing. Hardly felt it. I will definitely be back for the rest of my piercings and recommend Maritime to anyone looking for quality piercings at a great price!

Please dont go here for piercings. I went to buy a piece of jewelry and had them remove my old one and put the new one on. The guy banged up my nose really bad and didnt even feel bad at all. I was bleeding. Very very unprofessional here. When I walked in the whole time he was talking to another girl. They werent even helpful it was like I wasnt even there. It was my first time going there and will be my last. Worst experience and I never really write reviews but it was such a bad experience I dont want nobody else to go through that. The guy seemed to be Mexican had tattoos right on top of his head and tattooed all on his arms.

Havent had my PA in lace for years, but Jess found the hole and , not pretending it it didnt hurt, made fast work of a stretch and new jewelry in seconds. I was able to walk away as if nothing had happened. Hes a true professional!

Went in today to have an existing tattoo altered. My son also wanted one. They were soooooo pleasant! Mathias did my son and myself. What a talented, pleasant young man. I am from NY and was in Oceanside.... I would recommend this place to all. A wonderful experience!

Super nice people but the way they ran their business is weird. Was charged before my piercing was done. When I sat down and the correct piercing was not fit to what I was expecting I ended up not getting anything done.. ended up NOT getting a full refund which they kept the tip even though I had no service done. Strange.

Ill keep it short and sweet this shop has no class or respect and the artist aren’t nearly good enough to be acting the way they do.

Got my septum done by Samantha and it went smoothly, then a couple months later I got a nostril done which went fine until it got snagged so I had to go into the shop because I couldn’t put it in myself and the guy who replaced my piercing was giving off judgmental vibes and was rough
