I wanted to do something for myself for my birthday, so piercing it was! Lance is awesome! He was kind and funny, really honest and professional. Adamant about care instructions which I appreciate. He was really helpful, especially when telling him about me having swelling, he worked with me on making sure I was comfortable with the bar length to accommodate swelling. He was just amazing. 10/10 100% recommend.

They were very friendly. My daughter had her ears pierced, and they explained everything to her, made sure she understood the process and how to care for her piercings. She didnt experience any pain or swelling, or irritation afterward. Great people, great experience.

This is the first time I have ever been to this tattoo shop. But i have nothing but good things to say about it. It was great service and they were able to get me in super quick. Lance is a super cool dude. Very talented tattoo artist for sure and my tattoo turned out amazing. I could not be happier. 10/10 recommend going here.

Got my helix piercing from here today. I had made an appointment and arrived right on time but they took a ‘walk-in’ before me. They had me waiting for some time and then finally when it was my turn the guy gave me a 10 minute talk about maintaining my piercing which could’ve been done in less than 2 minutes. Appreciate his effort but it felt like a high schooler was explaining everything (lots of rambling). When I got pierced, my ear started bleeding. I have multiple piercings and that has NEVER happened to me. Wouldn’t go here again!

Inexperienced piercing. Come here for a tattoo ONLY. Their artists are awesome for only that. Not experienced enough for piercings even though their websites lists available piercings… icky.They will come up with an excuse for why they cannot do a piercing, it’s because you aren’t at the right place and they aren’t comfortable doing where something they lack experience.

Went in for a nose piercing and luckily got a tattoo done due to a cancelation. Nose piercing looks awesome and was not too painful. Edgar did great and helped me with advice about future piercings. Johnny did my tattoo, and it turned out absolutely perfectly and it was the least painful tattoo Ive ever had. I will be back!

It was clean and everything, but the guy was kind of flirting with me and my friends. The website is also not updated so expect to pay 20 over the marked price on the website. For one of my friends he put cork screw jewlery in her nose. I havent met another piercer who does that. I also paid for him to use a needle to pierce my ears, but he still used a gun. He did this after he told us about how Claires is bad because they use piercing guns.Edit: its been a year and they said I would receive a refund for my service and I did not get anything. It is also important to note that when I say flirting the staff member was asking me and my friends to meow for him and was comparing me to his girlfriend. Please be wary of where you get pierced. The laws are much stricter in Kansas go somewhere in Kansas :)

Went in with a friend for 2 lobe piercings, a flat, and my friend got 2 forward helix piercings. Audrey was fantastic! Pretty quick and relatively low on the pain scale. My flat piercing was her suggestion, placement was perfect. Love Divine!

Went yesterday for 3 people. 3 original pieces that had been lusted over by them for a while. The shop was really accommodating, blocked off time for us, came the night before to discuss artwork and pricing, which was VERY reasonable. Day of, the owners kept strict tabs on how many people were in the shop which was nice. Place was really really clean. Johnny was personable and his work was over the top, especially for where we were. In a strip mall!! Detailed, but quick. If he didnt like the placement he redid it. Good eye. All in all a terrific experience. I would DEFINATELY recommend coming here.

Another wonderful experience with Lance doing 2 more memorial tattoos for my son. The lady at the front was so very kind and compassionate as well. I highly recommend this business if you want to feel welcomed and comfortable.

I had a wonderful experience. Lance did my tattoo and he was awesome! I was getting a memorial tattoo for my son, and it was very emotional for me. Lance talked to me through the whole process and kept my mind distracted, which was great! The front receptionist was very kind and there was another gentleman who was very helpful and kind as well. I definitely will be getting another tattoo here.

This is such a cool place filled with amazing people and artists. Everyone is very kind and helpful. Johnny is AMAZING at what he does, Im still heal but the healing process has been great. Youll want to make this your tattoo place.

I had a wonderful experience. Visited from out of town a couple months ago and got my lip and cartilage pierced. Edgar was amazing, very friendly and warm. Visited again today for my lobes and nothing short of a great experience. The other staff was also attentive and helpful.

Had my very first tattoo done here, I was really nervous and excited to get it. My experience was great I felt comfortable. The artists there were awesome also. They knew what they were doing, had experience and I just trusted them with my tattoo, which I dedicated to some one I love and always look up to. I highly recommend this place.

This review is for a tongue piercing. Edgar did an awesome job taking his time, talking through his process and finding a good location for my piercing. This place is sanitary and takes all proper precautions to make sure you have the safest experience. After a couple days I needed a slightly bigger bar for my slightly swollen but already naturally fat tongue, Edgar brought me right in and gave me a longer bar at no cost, and with an awesome, laid back attitude the whole time. Highly recommend this shop.

Gotta love lance, he’s a great artist and keeps you distracted with his talking and unique sense of humor! my only regret is that i couldn’t tip him as much as i wanted too & i felt pretty bad, it was my first tattoo and i was younger! in the future i’ll make up for that :)

Wonderful tattoo experience today. It’s EXACTLY what I wanted and I love it. Johnny (sp?) is a very nice young man, professional and not only did he not try and overcharge with the estimate, but then only charged for his time when it was a little smaller than he thought (not smaller by much either) Highly recommend.

Ive been meaning to leave a review but this tattoo / piercing shop is the best one Ive ever been to. Edgar, the piercer, is so knowledgeable and so gentle, same as Johnny, the tattoo artist. They try to make sure youre as comfortable as possible and they keep conversation going. Ive recommended this shop to my friends and I will keep doing so.

Edgar did my double nose piercing and made my experience so good! Did exactly what I asked for and was super informative on healing process. Also I was super anxious, but he was a great person to bounce back and forth with conversation to help keep my mind at ease. I love it & will be back for all future piercings! :)

The guy that did my nose ring exchange today was awesome, he took great care of me and was making sure I was doing ok and he even offered me water and turned on a fan for me cuz I got hot. He talked to me the whole time!

Myself, my wife and now my twin daughters have gotten our ears pierced by Edgar. He is extremely personable and competent. My girls were nervous, but he spoke to them in a relaxing way and explained everything so they had no issues. We can not recommend him enough.

Lance did my 17 year old daughter’s naval piercing and was the absolute best! He explained everything thoroughly and had a pleasant sense of humor. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Went in to get my septum re-pierced as I thought it closed. Edgar was able to find the hole and just taper it and got it through! Yay! Edgar was super awesome and chill. It was fun talking with him. Rooster did an amazing job piercing my 6 year old daughters ears. He took his time and made sure she felt comfortable. I will definitely return when my other daughters want their ears pierced.

Their piercer, Edgar, was amazing!!! Hes done 3 of my piercings, most recently 2 forward helixs. I got those done 2 days ago and Im already able to sleep on that side. He was quick and very social through the experience. Definitely recommend.

It was great! I got a vertical labret piercing and Edgar was awesome. Im anxious with needles and it was my first piercing, and he kept me calm and walked me through it, I didnt stress at all. Fantastic job and I love the way it turned out. Absolutely coming back.

I took my 16 yo daughter to get her first tattoo and not only did I feel at home and comfortable but so did she. Edgar booked the appointment and was so fun, friendly and hospitable. Lance did her ink and was so incredible at making sure we felt safe in terms of sterilization but also made great conversation as a distraction for her. I thought I was done with tattoos and never thought of getting a piercing for myself. These guys have made me think twice.

I would rate this place 6 stars if I could, I’ve gone here 3 times to get piercings done and each time has been a great experience. Edgar is one of the coolest people i’ve ever met and really knows what he’s doing. There was another girl there, I believe her name was Kailyn (sorry if i got that wrong) and she was the SWEETEST!! She gave me very helpful tips for my tongue piercing and was very fun to talk to. Great place, awesome people :)

I just got 3 earlobe and one cartilage piercing done at the same time. Edgar does an amazing job. Super friendly and not painful at all. He is very funny and personable and definitely puts you at ease about the whole process. I will go back to get a tragus piercing as well. highly recommended!

I walked in requesting a piercing. Only had to wait a few minutes and they were able to get me in. Everyone was super nice. Edgar did the piercing. He was so nice and He did an awesome job. Will definitely recommend!

Went in about 2 weeks ago to ask about a tattoo on the back of my neck. The guy asked to see a picture then proceeded to tell me didnt you see the sign when you came in? We do not do neck tattoos. Then he said I could do a shoulder tattoo I said I already have one then said I could do a wrist tattoo I said I already have those. I said thank you and left. This guy was very rude, first of all I wanted a back of the neck tattoo I didnt want one anywhere else second no I was not looking to see what signs they had up I never even noticed a sign. I had my wrist tattoo done there a couple of years ago and the guy that worked there then was so nice, greeted us when we came in and asked what we were thinking about getting, even made a few minor changes to the tattoos me and my Sister wanted. Being rude is not good for business.

My wife (who now has 5 tattoos) brought me here for my first tattoo ever. We were lucky enough to get Lance and we walked out super happy. My wife said that it was the most pleasant tattoo experience shes ever had and that Lance paid attention to detail like no artist ever has before. All that attention to detail for only $80! Which was way less than I expected so I made sure to tip the rest. Lance is a great dude and will make you super comfortable.

We just left and I wanted to write a review because Clay the piecer was so sweet and funny and I really appreciate his honesty. He wasnt able to do my friends piercing because his anatomy wouldnt work and Clay told us as soon as he realized it. It easily could have been a bad situation and we really appreciate his professionalism. Im dying for a piercing myself so you guys definitely have a customer in the future!

Had a jewelry issue from a different shop. Edgar had us fixed up super quick. We only had to wait like 20 minutes and in that time he pierced like 4 people. Professional and friendly. The girl at the counter was nice too.

Ive gone here for all of my cartilage piercings and plan to return for more. Edgar is very professional and precise, but also friendly. I get nervous every time and he manages to keep me calm. He gives great advice and will do what he can to keep you happy and healthy. I have very small ears and my tragus is equally small but he managed to safely pierce it. They are not a five dollar shop, because you get what you pay for, good quality. Have had ZERO problems with anything they have done. 10/10

Took my friends here to get their nose pierced and my ears. I’ve only ever had one other piercing which is my nipples and recently one got infected. Edgar did the best job making sure that not only was the cleaning process as clean as possible but also made it comfortable for me. I was in a lot of pain and his knowledge about piercings is insane!This is a nice dude and for real a gentle, kind human.10/10 will always go to him

Edgar is so dope! He helped me a lot with some piercings that I had done somewhere else and I was having issues with. He changed them out to something smaller and walked me through the healing process, which I didnt get with my original piercer, and generally made me feel a lot better about them.Its been about a month or two, and my ears are already feeling AND looking a lot better. The bumps around my piercings have almost completely swelled down too, whoop whoop

Very friendly, made lots of jokes and small talk, putting daughter and me at ease which reduces anxiety and pain. Ensured exact spot she wanted, using a small hoop to demonstrate. Less costly yet far more Hygienic/Safe/experienced than at the mall: $40 for cartilage piercing included small surgical steel post, I didn’t ask the price of ear lobes or having two at once, but I would recommend Edgar over the mall for standard ear piercing too. Provides after care instructions (inexpensive products available at any drugstore) and help if any reactions or problems occur later. Walk in 12-8 pm.Bring photo ID; ages 16&17 must also bring a parent with ID, & a notarized permission form. Bank next door will notarize Edgar’s/Skin Illustrations’ forms for free; if you miss that bank’s biz hours, CapFed customers can access a notary til 7pm at their Shawnee Target & Prairie village hen house locations.If bringing a young child along, I suggest headphones for them, as Edgar’s vocab is anti-establishment. 😉

Edgar da rooster (piercer) pierced my best friend and I last minute yesterday. I like that he did his sanitary practices in front of us(were licensed cosmetologists) whereas most try to make their stations clean before their clients get back to their stations. He made sure to bump elbows with us instead of shaking our hands. We could of sat and talked to him all day, he wasnt rushed and had a great personality. Hes a big flirt but hes super chill 🤣. We had a blast and would recommend him to anybody. I had my septum pierced and it was so quick. I would highly recommend him to anybody nervous about getting pierced. Also the front desk receptionist was super fun to talk with. I love the overall vibe of the shop. ❤️ I payed $50 for my septum. Thanks guys! I love it!

Lance is a very talented tattoo artist with tons of patience and experience.My suggested Polynesian tattoo design took a lot of his time to adjust the geometric pattern to my shoulder size.Tattooing took more time than the expected time. But still, he offered the original estimated price. Very sweet.Before starting the tattoo, he explained and showed about his using tool’s medically & clinically approved parameters.Surprisingly, in the past, I have been to many tattoo studios across the US, but no one did like this.He is using the right & proven tools. After this, I am so confident about the used tools hygiene. Surely he is the right tattoo artist to get any tattoo in a harmless environment.I am surely revisiting this place and Lance for my future tattoos.Thanks to Lance for his incredible work.

Edgar pierced my lip about a month ago and he was professional and honestly, hilarious! I loved his sense of humor, in fact Im heading that way tonight to get my septum pierced. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to get any new piercing!

Ive only gotten one, very simple and small, tattoo at the shop in OP. My best friend and I went to get them together before she moved and Clayton was fast, friendly, and did a great job. Ive gotten 2 larger pieces at the Lawrence location--recently went in to discuss a couple new pieces--and will definitely be going back! Their prices are decent, I never have to wait months to meet with the artists and theyve all done really great work (ie: they fixed something that resembled a 14 rim actually look closer to the button it was supposed to be). Now to patiently await the phone call saying my sketch is ready!

I’m a 76 year old woman getting a second ear piercing. Edgar was friendly, gentle, kind and quick. The shop was very clean and there was close parking available. From the time I first walked in until I walked out, I felt that my business was appreciated.

Took my daughter in to get her daith pierced, and had a great experience. The artist/piercer went above and beyond his way to help my daughter with a different piercing. As far as the main reason we were there, that went surprisingly smooth and painless.

Edgar did my nose piercing last week. Very chill guy, got me in and out super fast as a walk-in, helped calm my nerves. Would return for future piercings!

I made an appointment two weeks out for a tattoo. When I arrived 15 minutes early they discovered they had double booked. I was bumped with the understanding they would call me in a couple hours and get me in. Long story short I DID NOT get my tattoo. The artists did not seem too enthused about their craft. Or the fact I was upset.

Absolutely loved the energy from the moment i walked in. I got my nose pierced and have had no problems. I recently got a tattoo here and absolutely love it! so glad i get to walk around with art on me everyday!!

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get my first tatto at Skin Illustrations and I have to say I couldn’t be more happy! My artist Johnny was extremely kind and made the whole experience a lot less scary. It turned out way better than I could’ve ever hoped and I will definitely be returning for more.

Rich is AMAZING!! EVERYONE there is super friendly and very clean and professional. Ive got one bigger tat on my shoulder that is beautiful and exactly what I wanted and the one on my foot that I had done there is perfect and again exactly what I was wanting. I wont go to anyone or anywhere else but here to get my tattoos.

We took our daughter here to get her ears pierced. The piercing guy is fantastic and had all the information we could have hoped for. They took us back to a semi private room. By chance, no one else was there while we were.

Ive gotten my last 2 tattoos there and I love them both. Ill go back if I ever get another tattoo. The color has faded from the one on my foot, but Im out in the sun a lot, and the guy even said that the white would fade out of it and I would need to get it touched up. The only bad part was I had to wait a super long time, like 4-5 hours, for him to draw my design and tattoo me. They need to work on their time management skills.

Got my cartilage pierced here months ago. The guy that did my piercing did not know what he was doing and when he pierced my cartilage, it started dripping blood down my ear. Like it was a STREAM of blood. He said it was normal thing. This has never happened to me before and I have my rook and my daith pierced (at a different shop of course). Months down the road, I’m still having issues with it, even after cleaning it twice a day. I’ve had enough and finally decided to take the piercing out myself. Pretty sure my ear has a permanent scar from it and it’s still very painful after MONTHS. Also, the area where he pierces, it looks like you’re getting pierced from a janitors closet.

I went in and got my Rook pierced my piercer was amazing...!! I will be going back there to get more!! He was very professional... He was very friendly let me know about my piercing before i got it done... All of the staff there were very nice...!

Not a good shop. Asked if I could make an appointment (later time or another day) No. Cant make an appointment and walk-in is a long maybe we will get to you line. Not very clean either. The place had what looked like sheets separating work areas.

I have had 2 tattoos done there by Koos. He is a fantastic artist and a good tattooer. We are in the middle of a third tattoo now and it is going to be amazing when it is finished! Everyone there is nice and easy to work with.

I work with adults with disabilities and I have a woman that is obsessed with one of my tattoos and really wants one of her own. Called this shop to see if they could maybe do a temporary one on her arm for her so she could experience and they said no. Guess her money isn’t good enough for them. As someone with plenty of ink myself this is one shop I would never pay to give me ink if they are too good to fulfill a developmentally disabled woman’s wish for a “tattoo”. Really need to work on your customer service.

This place is a joke when regarding piercings. The piercing area looks like an afterthought, pushed into a back room behind a curtain. The piercer seemed uneducated and had an attitude. Save your body and get pierced somewhere else. The only good part about my experiance was the guy at the front desk who was polite.

DO NOT GET A TATTOO HEREThey are horrible I wanted a simple heart and I was met with rude people and an impossible time trying to get it fix to the point, someone ten times better said because he new the guy who messed it up and know how bad he is said once it completely healed he would fix it.The lines are awful and not even close to a good heart save your money and go somewhere good!I also didn’t want it filled and he did, I wanted a small one and now if gonna have to be huge to fix the awful job he did.

Went to Edgar to get a piercing and he was very rude. They way he talks to his customers is very unprofessional and I would recommend finding a different place to get a piercing done.

I go and was met with a very rude person who offered no guidance or any help whatsoever. Basically pushed me out the door. Would not recommend for people getting their first tattoo

I had a monstera leaf done a couple months back. The artist was super awesome to talk too and we went deep into the rabbit hole of comic book worlds. My tattoo looks bomb and will definitely be back for my next!

They care so much for the customer they put a tattoo on a high school student face. 18 years old? Check. 50 bucks? Check. The rest of the high school students life messed up for 50 bucks. I care so much I will never go there again. And yes I am all tatted up.... but all mine can be covered so I can go to work. Thats right I do not do tattoo work so having no tats on my face is good. Funny that no one at skins the day they put tat on kids face has a face tattoo

Went in to get work done. Guy that was going to do my work was rude and talked about how hard it was going to be. He was very negative about wanting to do it. He also smelt like he was still drunk from last night. Lost my deposit but thank god I decided to not do it there. I will never be back!!

Front desk dude was rude when I said I didnt have my debit card to secure a slot, he also was about to charge me $130 for a scripted tattoo smaller than a deck of cards. Freaks on Broadway would charge $60. I dont appreciate being taken advantage of or treated like that. Fix your customer service.

Me and my fiancé got a couples tattoo and they are awesome. The guy that that did them lance tuck was amazing. I will definitely be going back there to get more tattoos.

Friends have had bad experiences with the piercer, Edgar, and I know 2 women hes been super creepy with. I wont let my daughter anywhere near.

Lance is a real artist and definitely knows his stuff with piercings. Koos is also incredible at free handing and cover ups. Very talented.

I went to get my nose pierced, I would definitely go again for another piercing or tattoo. Very profesional place, clean and they were really nice.

I was greeted and help as soon as I walked in. I needed a new ball for my peircing and the piercer was able to replace it quickly .

Walked in and got a tattoo done by Johnny. Everyone was super nice and the tattoo came out perfect!!

Very unprofessional I called and asked to make an appointment they said its walk in hours. I walked in and the piercer walked out. Communication is key in business and they severely LACK the necessary skills to be up and running. They’ll be out of business soon.

Piercer was very nice, but used a bar way too small for my tongue, making the swelling a lot more painful.

Loved my tattoo at first but over time i dislike it more and more. Poor shading behind the ST and very uneven line work on the broken side of the heart
