I got my cherry blossom tattoo done here in April and it turned out amazing. My artist Yana helped ease me through the process. Its beautiful and everyone working here is so nice. The studio is clean and safe. If youre looking for a tattoo shop, whether its your first or twenty-first, this is a place to consider. I would go back for my next one. Cody Dean designed and put a lotus flower tattoo on my left forearm. We discussed the design prior to my appointment, and we reviewed it and talked about placement when I arrived. Everything was done professionally and as expected. Cody was pleasant and made sure I was comfortable. I was in the chair for approximately 7 hours as he told me it would take. We had a great conversation, and he did a fantastic job on my tattoo. All went according to plan. Would highly recommend seeing Cody for a tattoo.

I’ve had work done by various artists at Central Tattoo Studio over the past few years and have had only positive experiences. Most recently, I’ve had a few pieces done by Evan and can’t say enough good things about him and the overall experience. Not only is Evan incredibly talented, but he’s also down to earth, patient, and conscientious. I especially appreciated how collaborative the process was where I felt like I played a role in shaping the final designs as he brought my visions to life. While I was at the studio, I also observed how friendly and supportive the artists were of one another and each client that was there. I highly recommend Central Tattoo Studio and Evan if you’re looking for a standout tattoo and tattooing experience in the Philly area!

This tattoo shop is by far my favorite shop in Philadelphia! I have gotten tattooed by so many of there artists and I am absolutely obsessed with all of them.I found the owner Pete on Instagram before he had the shop and went anywhere he was to to get tattooed by him. He is so nice and down to earth and I gave him creative freedom for my watercolor sleeve. I was so happy and proud when he opened central tattoos. It is beautiful inside and doubles as an art studio.After working on my arm he gave me a beautiful hand tattoo of a water color eye.Then Rowan did most of my black and gray tattoos. She is so gentle and kind. She tattooed my leg, stomach, neck, and eyebrows. My favorite tattoo that she has done was a panda holding a blue kitten that I got for my son.Cody did my back piece which is a never needing project because I hate sitting for long sessions. (I’m a baby)Frank did trash polka tattoos on my leg and chest.It’s so nice to see a great team of amazing artists working together to creat a super friendly out going team of people.Pete does an amazing job of finding talented artists with very unique styles. This makes his shop an amazing place to go and get your dream tattoos.Let’s not forget about Melissa! This is Pete’s wife, and she is absolutely amazing. She keeps the shop running smooth and is so lovely. I love when she lets me use her for my curly hair models when we have classes at the salon. She has the best hair!Lastly We make sure to send all of hair clients to central tattoos. We highly recommend checking them out and getting a tattoo.

Amazing artists under one roof, check. Nice, bright, clean space,check. I will not name any artists names in this review. I arrived on time for all of my appointments with 2 different artists, multiple times. Both were late every time. One was late by 30 to 45 minutes each time, the other by 2 hours the 2nd time. There was no apology, no ownership of the behavior. I arrived to one of my appointments with an artist and they were intoxicated. They still had wine stains on their lips and Im not confident they slept at all. I asked them if they were under the influence and was told that it was from allergy medication. This was an artist I sat with for 7+ hours on 3 previous occasions. I knew the persons behavior. They blatantly lied to my face. They were under the influence of something. They said that they were confident that they could still tattoo. I trusted them, unfortunately. Thats on me. It was much more painful than in the past. I ended up getting really scabby and had a minor inflection in one section. I know the owner will blame me for the infection. Thats ok. I know the truth. I had previous tattoos from the artist and cared for them all the same way. I did bring my concern to the owner and they filled in some color for me on the other artists work, free of charge. They shouldve finished the entire piece for me at a discount. They didnt. I had a second session with the owner and he gave me a beautiful piece. The talent is undeniable. But the bad business practice along with the bad attitude, and the 2 + hour lateness just isnt worth it (to me) at the end of the day. You will absolutely get a beautiful tattoo here. You will pay a lot of money for it, which to me, is worth it. But if you call out any of the bad behavior, youll be treated very poorly. I realize every persons experience will be different. Unfortunately, mine was awful. Its sad because I would love to keep giving my money to these immensely talented people but I just cant justify giving money to people who are irresponsible business owners.

Okay so here is my review on central tattoo. I was in search of a really good black and grey artist realism artist and after searching google etc I cam across this place. After looking at a few artist I decided on going with Sean to inquire about a dove on my back shoulder. The process was pretty simple after the consultation we locked in a date and went from there. Now upon arrival I was greeted by the receptionist and proceeded to fill out the necessary forms before the session. Then Sean showed me the stencil that he drew and I couldn’t have been more happy with the outcome. After that it was time for the actual session and honestly this was the easiest and non painful tattoo I have. Maybe it was due to the placement or Sean’s technique but the entire session was easy we did take a few breaks. But the total tattoo time was a breeze, as for the atmosphere it’s very chill and laid back a place that is gonna be my forever home when it comes to getting elite level of service and quality tattoos.

Alex Kozak did my first two tattoos yesterday and I absolutely LOVE them! He was so accommodating at making sure they were exactly what I wanted. They are GORGEOUS and I’m sad I’m not local to Philly b/c I want him to do allllll my future tattoos. Maybe more Philly trip are in my future :)

An absolutely wonderful experience with an equally amazing tattoo. I have nothing but the highest praise for Cody and for the entire experience. The studio is immaculate in a great location with free parking. The process was seamless; from the consultation to scheduling the appointments to seeing the sketch on the day of the first appointment it was easy and stress-free! And the artwork is second to none. I am so in love with my tattoo!! I cant wait for the next step in my half sleeve. I have nothing but the highest recommendations for central tattoo and for Cody in particular!

Cool studio with friendly artists. Got some matching tattoos with friends by Alex Kozak, and he was one of the most patient artists Ive ever worked with. He was kind and receptive to the design feedback, and a nice guy to chat with. Would definitely go back here - they have lots of great artists and art on display.

Gives the vibe of a fine art studio, all of the artists have really incredible portfolios, got 2 pieces here done by Cody (on my way to get a third one) and they were all great. Highly recommend, great spot and across the street from a good parking lot in a shopping complex which is really convenient.

I worked with Evan Buffo, at Central Tattoo and my experience was great! Not only is he extremely talented, but he was perfectly professional and kept checking in with me throughout. This was my first tattoo, and I felt safe and respected the entire time. He was very careful to keep the site sterile, which was important to me. His art is beautiful, I keep getting compliments! I would absolutely recommend Evan, and would go to him for future tattoos!

I am so happy with my experience here. The space is open, clean, fun art on the walls, good vibes all around. It was my first time getting a tattoo and they made me feel so comfortable — very kind folks here. Communication, from booking to discussing ideas, was smooth. Tea Fish did my piece and it is absolutely perfect. She paid such close attention to detail, did beautiful work, and I couldn’t be happier!

Got my first tattoo done by Evan here and he was amazing. I had so many ideas in my head about my tattoo and was able to put my ideas on paper and come up with something beautiful. He was extremely friendly and helpful, plus he has a very light hand when tattooing. Communication from the booking the appointment to finalizing the design was super easy and reliable.The studio itself was super clean and inviting. Everyone was so kind. 100% would recommend and will getting another tattoo here again! The whole experience was great it made me catch the tattoo bug for more tats haha!

I’ve had my eye on this tattoo shop for years before I finally decided I wanted to get one. Pete is the owner and specializes in watercolor/vintage designs. I am in love with all of his work and incredibly happy with the piece he did for me. Pete is such a down-to-earth person who puts you at ease with his calming energy. Even though I didn’t interact much with the other artists, I could tell it was an exceptional group of individuals. Wonderful experience at this phenomenal high-end tattoo studio.Thank you, Pete, for my beautiful tattoo☺️UPDATE 1/22/24: I wanted more tattoos so I decided to make an appointment with Fish, who specializes in american traditional tattoos. She is able to do other styles as well which is what I chose. I’ve been in love with One Line Art and the tattoo Fish did for me is flawless. I also got one american traditional style on my thigh and she made it look WAY better than the original photo I had shown her. I was honestly so blown away and cheesing the whole way home haha. I’m in the process of working on a couple more with her and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you, Fish!!! You’re simply awesome.

I have been to Central Tattoo 3 times over the past 8 months. Specifically to book with Rowan Starr. She did my first tattoo, my second and now my third! She is incredibly talented, professional and engaging. The shop is very clean and all the artists are friendly and encouraging of one another. I truly enjoy my time with Rowan and she always makes sure I am comfortable. Check her out now!

Studio and people there are wonderful when youre at the studio. Very clean and professional in person. Communication, however, is horrible. Appointment had to be postponed and I wasnt notified until an hour before via email, not even a call. Getting in touch with the artist between sessions was pretty much impossible. If communication is a big things for you, I do not advise this shop.

I absolutely love my tattoo! I really enjoyed the experience and atmosphere. The studio was clean and the employees were professional. One of my favorite things about the studio is Jelly. The world needs more Jelly’s, she was super inviting, she was willing to help with anything that was needed and did it with a smile. Such a positive spirt. Cody is a very talented artist. He made sure the tattoo was perfect before starting and made sure I was comfortable. Conversation was great and made the time pass. Someone should get him on a trivia game show! Overall great day and fantastic piece of art I get to wear for the rest of my life. Thanks again.

My mother in law and I got tattooed by Evan yesterday. We were more than impressed. The hospitality while there and the care he took in taking care of us goes a long way. If you’re in Philly or stopping by and want some art, this is the place.Would recommend and will go back.

Everyone at Central Tattoo are welcoming and down to Earth. From the office manager Jelly to owner/artist Pete to Petes wife Melissa, everyone makes you feel comfortable and valued. This was my first tattoo, and I felt supported the whole way through. You wont get a proof of what you are getting until the night before, but you will just have to trust Pete. His artwork speaks for itself. The studio is classy, beautiful, and clean. Highly recommend!

I had a fantastic experience here. Long story short, I wanted a tattoo for my dog who recently passed. After many conversations with other shops, and a terrible tattoo experience with another artist, I finally found Cody and we had a long conversation about what I wanted. When the appointment day finally came around, I absolutely loved what he had drawn for me - it made me tear up so I knew it was special. I had a couple small tweaks I wanted him to make, and he obliged willingly - he definitely wanted to give me exactly what I wanted. He was so friendly, the entire experience was great from start to finish. Im incredibly happy with my tattoo and to be honest, Ive never had a tattoo heal so well EVER. Virtually no soreness, no redness, I dont really know the reason for it but Im happy about it!

Sean Costello did a large piece for me from my left elbow down to my wrist and I am so happy with it! After spending a lot of time on Instagram seeing which local artists did religious pieces I found Sean who responded so quickly to set up a consultation. I gave him a bunch of photos and how I envisioned the piece to look. What he came up with was incredible and exactly what I initially pictured. Tattoo turned out awesome. I have a little more to go and appreciated him asking to have one last session as he thought I had room for another piece opposed to additional fillers. He did not have to do that as I was okay with fillers the rest of the way.Highly recommend! He’s immensely talented.

I was lucky enough to get an appointment with Pete after admiring his work on the web. This was my first tattoo and I didnt give him a lot to work with, just the basic idea and colors....and he created a watercolor piece more beautiful than I could ever have hoped for. I cant wait for the next appointment to see what more magic Pete can do.The studio itself is a cool concept.....the first floor is an art gallery and the tattoo parlor is on the second floor. The place is light, crisp and very neat and clean.Overall, I dont think I can say enough positive things about my experience or the tattoo from Pete. Its worth the wait to see him!

Pete is truly impressive. I have been tattooed by Pete a few times in the last year. His ability to transform your thoughts into art is special and unique. Pete pays attention to detail and brings his own interpretation to images. His work is simply beautiful. In addition, Melissa is so responsive and easy to work with when setting up appointments etc. The overall shop is clean and professional. Central Tattoo is an overall experience.

Everyone in the shop is super friendly. My brother has gone back three times and always talks about how great the experience is there. He even drives out from Maine just to get work done by Frank. If I ever wanted a tattoo, Id go here too.

I had my very first tattoo done by Pete Zebley. Absolutely beautiful and well done tattoo. The tattoo studio was clean comfortable. I smile every time I see it in the mirror.

Its a house with a big open room basically. Everything is clean and everyone is professional and very talented. This is not a walk in type shop. More of a you will need to schedule an appointment type and well worth the wait if you get one. I was lucky enough to squeeze in a week after talking to the artist and they are all artist. If I had to give them a con. It would be that there is no parking. But thats Philadelphia for you! I have gone here twice and not afraid to go again.

Frank is an amazing artist! Everything was clean and very professional. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo in the PA/NJ area. Will definitely be back for my next tattoo.

I recently got a design and tattoo done by Murrt. He is very patient and understanding in the whole process. This was my first “large” tattoo and I was generally very nervous but I put my whole trust in him.Let me tell you.. Murrt is a super talented artist! He did 2 design revisions for me in a matter or hours. The whole tattoo session itself wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Currently it’s been a week and the tattoo is healing wonderfully.My friends and coworkers love the design. Will definitely go back to him for another tattoo!

Fish fit my daughter and I into her busy schedule. She did an awesome job. If ever in Philly I will visit again.

Got an opportunity of having an abstract watercolor design by Pete in Berlin tattoo convention. Pete is a true genius of abstract design! He captured and expressed my ideas about the tattoo so accurately. I totally recommend him to the people that are thinking about abstract designs.

5 stars based off of the website alone. It was very detailed and simple yet classy looking. I love that it shows the artist and their work right away without having to click on anything. Im looking for flower and butterfly tatoos and i found it! Hope their customer service matches the website

Melissa was the worst,she was hard to communicate with and turned down every idea I had,even when I agreed to let artist design piece at their own free will she still said her artist are not intrested dont know if shes racist or just making too much money that she forgot how to run a business. Wonder if her artist even know she is turning away customers,tatto artist look great but unfortunately I will never know.

Horrible communication with my artist Murrt, I’d write weeks before hand for idea’s or questions involving completing my tattoo with no response until hours before my scheduled appointment. Great work he does but I cannot deal with the lack of communication, be warned!

This place is incredible. Staff and artist are all wonderful to chat with and they take their art very seriously. This is the only place I wanna get my tattoos for now on.
