Came in for one of their tattoo sales and will definitely be back! The friendly, homely feel of the environment, to their great advice on how to do my tattoos.

Totally making future appointments at State Tattoo Co. super friendly neighborhood place, with God fearing artist in ownership (not necessary but bonus). Jonny got me in quick, was super helpful on placement and was just in general super nice and kept good conversation. Got a simple Cross tattoo with Romans 6:23 along the vertical. But next time Jonny, next time will be a little more chair time. Thank you! And God Bless

MJ Arsenault is the bomb! Hes been working on my leg sleeve and Ive been beyond pleased with my experience. Hes a very talented artist with a natural eye for placement/color/etc. Hes made the whole process very easy and they have quickly become some of my favorite tattoos that I have. Everyone else in the shop is great too, and its just a nice vibe overall there, especially when compared to some other shops. Highly recommend!

I was looking for a tattoo shop for years ever since Ive moved to Phoenix. Never found one that I would have trusted with what Ive wanted to do. Luckily someone referred me to Jonny at State Tattoo and if I could give more than 5 stars I would! Ive contacted him via email and he was super responsive and open to my ideas, so we met up at the shop. Very clean space, professional and relaxed atmosphere. Everything just went smoothly from there. So far Ive gotten 3 tattoos done by Jonny and I absolutely love them! Highly recommended, dont go anywhere else!

Shawn did an excellent job on mine and my boyfriends tattoos (dog ears and pocket watch) . The atmosphere and staff were great. We will definitely be backUPDATE : Well we went back! First off I wanna personally thank Steven for being such a cool dude from the get go and putting my dreams into a work of art! He was so professional and a very down to Earth person and made me feel comfortable from start to finish! I made the decision that I will be going to Steven for all of my future tattoos after this masterpiece he created and totally killed it!! I am so happy with my tattoo and experience overall here. Shop is also very clean and staff is really cool too! NEW INFORMATION:I found a new tattoo shop to try... OMG. Like night and day working with them. Answered all my questions honestly. They fixed / added / touched up the tattoo MJ did👎. I now see the differences in tattoo artists and having experience. They did a great job in fixing MJs tattoo half butt job. Really. And I learned there are different size needles, quality inks, etc... So we now started a new tattoo on my left arm. And the initial work looks awesome. Neighbors even commented on it. They are now going to this place soon to add and get new work there.Im really disappointed in my first tattoo that MJ did. Cant go back. But it still pisses me off. Hes not the type of person / personality - tattoo artist (if you could call him that), I would ever want to work with, Based on what he did on me.First customer / first tattoo experience. Umm... MJ was the tattoo artist to accomplish my tattoo idea.I have no clue as to process, quality, logistics, ink, layout, etc... So I heavily relied on MJ to guide me... Balance, esthetics, subject, colors, etc... I dont think he is the type of tattoo artist that I wanted my first tattoo from. I got more of a feeling that he wants to do the tattoo and have less me asking questions, why this, quality ink differences, balance, etc... Each time I get home after tattoo work I have a distinct feeling of not getting what I really want - esthetically, bright colors - ink, layout - less is more, but this last addition seemed to be a fill in, shading that probably did not need to be done. We will see.I basically dont feel he is in-tune with my tattoo look, colors, layout, etc... that I wanted and envisioned. Tattoo just did not come out in the look or high quality that I have seen on other customers. Maybe hes not at that higher quality level, now or yet. I wanted a simple fix, but I seemed to be told to go with a larger shading fill correction. Now not so keen on what was done as a correction.I feel like a first tattoo that I expected sharpe, crisp, bright colors and quality. Ill pay for that. I wanted that. I feel it was out of his league for a very high quality tattoo. Ive seen much better and that is what I wanted. Im mildly okay with what I have but let down from what I wanted.Guess I have to find a new shop to do the quality work I want and expect for future tattoos... But maybe give up after this experience.Cant change it. LoL.

Came in for a small sun tattoo on my shoulder, the staff was welcoming as soon as we walked in. Jacob did my tattoo, he was so friendly and professional. Amazing work, will definitely be back!

The guy who did my tattoo did a good job ! - I do think they’re a little more pricey then some tattoo places ! - I got initials tattooed and it was 80$ for a small area, if your willing to spend extra they’re great ! The customer service is awesome ! :3

Steven was great! Had an idea of what I wanted and he brought it to life. He took his time and patience with every little detail on the piece. Was super helpful and just a great person all together. You can tell he really cares about each and every piece he does. Highly recommend him and this company.

They’re alright. Jonny and Bryan might be a little “slow”, if you know what I mean. Good thing they are cute!!!!

6 hot artists, one ugly one.Steven.... AKA Tickle Steve. He uses painless needles, so I think thats why they call him Tickle Steve. He may be slow but he sure does poor work. I just keep coming back because he needs practice (plus, hes one of the hot ones). Sometimes, he gets so focused that he drools a bit, but its okay because Im drooling over his looks. On his good days, you can request him to wear JUST the leather apron (after hours). Call Steven for a good time.Theres a guy named CJ who seems fascinated with drawers... every time I go in, hes always opening and closing his tool box... The guy is a little odd but hes also one of the hot ones.Also heard hes a snowboarder... guess some girls think thats hot.

I would highly not recommend this company they have horrible business ethics a year ago. I bought a gift card for My Wife with Christmas coming and my business not doing so well after My Wife passed away. I asked him if I could change in the $250 Gift certificate and he wouldn’t do it. I asked to talk to manager and he said he was the owner. just seems like not a very good customer service company. I can’t say anything on their tattoo work, but as far as business goes not the way to make a happy customer. Heck I would have taken half. Whatever happened to the Christmas spirit I guess The owner of that store could give her about Christmas. I’m an old man now and it just blows me away. Yeah, I owner of the company would be so uncooperative. What is wrong with today’s you? He sounded pretty young to me. I don’t suppose that anyone ever gave him a course in business ethics on Social Security, I don’t have a lot of money these days. That was a lot of money that I gave them upsets me a great deal I am sure the tattoo artist are good people the owner not at all and I highly encouraged the owner to explain himself because he told me that all tattoo companies would do the same thing so I called around. I called five of them and the Phoenix area and four of them said they would absolutely give me my money back.

Steven was literally the best. Quick and efficient and literally amazing with his shading and linework. I couldnt be happier and Im definitely going back.

I was very pleased with the service rendered to my wife and I at this tattoo shop. Everyone was super nice and super friendly! Steven did our tattoos and they both came out so awesome! We are so happy with the out come of our tattoo! I especially like how he explained the reasoning behind his color coordination and why he was doing what he was doing. My husband found this shop and bought me a gift certificate for my birthday one year. I ended up talking to Steven about what I wanted to do - he listened and also threw in some other ideas to help make my tattoos flow really well. Ive had several appointments so far and Steven absolutely just nails it every time. All of the guys there are super nice - it really is just a genuinely good and comfortable vibe there. My first tattoo and it was an awesome experience. My tattoo artist, Steven, was great and not only did really good work but he was also very engaging, informative and conversational. Helped me relax a bit and he was also open to making some adjustments that I decided on last minute. The environment was fun, energetic, bright, clean and professional. Started coming here last year. Was lucky enough to walk in and end up with Steven. He has done amazing work for me. Hes willing to listen, but also give his opinion. He takes good care to make sure youre happy with the work you get. Clean, professional, personable and caring.

Got my first tattoo done yesterday by Steven Fruzyna. I cant express how happy I am with my tattoo. The shop was so welcoming and friendly. Steven really made me feel comfortable and take my interests in. All around great guy and great artist. I honestly forgot I was being tattooed that’s how good it was. My wife and I decided to get a tattoo while visiting Phoenix - not a first for either of us but we wanted a reputable place. We found this place and right away when we walked in we liked it. Landon did my tattoo of Denali (the mountain) and Steven did my wifes Celtic knot. As I talked with Landon, we soon realized wed both lived in Alaska. After more conversation it turns out I had worked for years with Landons dad in Alaska! What a crazy small world.Both of these gentlemen were the ultimate professionals, friendly, competent and very fine artists. I would recommend State Tattoo and both Landon and Steven to anyone. Walked in Wednesday, paid in advance for an appointment on Friday, now I’ve got my first tattoo courtesy of Shawn. I had an amazing experience here and I’ll definitely be back for more. Everyone was super professional but genuinely friendly. Shawn did an incredible job with the design based off the reference photo I gave him!

Steven does amazing work! Two tattoos from him so far and more to come. Really happy with the work, professionalism and the shop. Price is very reasonable for the quality. Go get tattooed!

Made an appointment with Landon, he was awesome! My husband and I went in for wedding band tats. We had some ideas and sent them over to Landon and he more than delivered on the final products. Studio was very clean and everyone there was nice. Id recommend calling before hand and talking to someone (LANDON) about what you want so you can work with them to create the piece of body art youll love for a lifetime!

James has done a couple of my tattoos and is working on my sleeve right now. He’s done an amazing job and is very professional! I haven’t had to wait more then 2 weeks to get in for another session. The shop is very clean and all the workers are extremely nice. I will definitely be sticking with James for all future tattoos !

Steven did a great job on my small detailed tattoo. We had a group that scheduled to came in together. Everyone was friendly and accommodating to our various designs and pavements. It was an awesome experience and clean environment.

I went in today for a planned visit with several other ladies for some small pieces we had roughly designed and each of the artists did a fantastic job bringing our ideas to life! I got one of the larger/more complicated pieces towards the end of our visit and Steven Fruzyna did a wonderful job when I switched my tattoo last minute to the wrap around vine piece giving suggestions for size, placement and width of the lines capturing exactly what I wanted in this tattoo. Highly recommend the shop and artist!

Bryan Craig did an amazing job on my first tattoo, seeing all pictures online of not only his work but also Jonnys, I knew I was going to get top notch work from this shop. Bryan made the experience extremely pleasant, very polite throughout the whole process and was patient with me being this my first tattoo. The attention to detail is mind blowing, even the tiniest detail from the reference picture is in the tattoo. I can not praise Bryan enough, I will definitely come back to this shop in future

Best tattoo shop you can find if youre looking for amazing work. Brian has done amazing work for me twice already. The first one was a larger project for my chest and helped sketch out what I was looking for as well as completing it day of. The second tattoo was completed as a walk in AND my girlfriends tattoo after my while getting my walk in tattoo completed. Always talks out the options with me and always asks if we are okay with the size, placement, and style for the tattoos would highly recommend for anyone that wants high quality work done.

What can I say about State Tattoo expect that the man Steven is an absolute punk hunk, the man is as beautiful as the tattoos he does and kinder than a Mormon knocking on your door to talk about Jesus. 11/10 would recommend him for his gorgeous looks and also his tattoo abilities.

My friend from CCV church recommended Jonny and his shop after I complimented her sleeve and I’m SO glad I booked with him! He worked around some tattoos I already had and we started to fill in my sleeve. It’s bright, totally custom/hand drawn on, and it’s cleaaan. 100% recommend. He also worked with me coming from out of state and dealt with so many texts with ideas and planning. The shop is super clean and just has a good feeling - I got tattooed for 6ish hours and didn’t put music in or anything, just chatted and relaxed. Ok.. So I googled tattoo shops near me and a few places came up.. I checked out their websites and Facebook pages and such. I hate to say it but for the most part I wasnt impressed.. Then I saw the work being done at State Tattoo..I had an idea for a design and decided to see if the guys at State Tattoo had some time.This shop has only two artists. Only one was there when I walked in. I was greeted in a friendly, professional manner. The shop is very clean and comfortable.I was told that unfortunately, the artist that was there didnt have time for a walk-in and another shop was suggested. But as we were talking, the other artist pulled in.Luckily for me he had a cancellation and could get me in.He listened to what I wanted, discussed options and came up with a design that was perfect for what I wanted. I was quoted an excellent price and he got set up.Bryan has one of the lightest touches Ive ever seen. His line work and color saturation are beautiful. He was patient, took his time and made sure I was comfortable.I got the piece on Wednesday and now, Friday, there is no redness, swelling or inflammation of any sort.I will be definitely be back for more work soon.

I’ve had Bryan do all of my tattoos on my sleeve. Incredibly talented. Johnny also is one of the best artists in town. These guys are incredibly reasonable price wise for the 5* quality they provide. The facility is clean and top notch!

State Tattoo is the best shop in the State. The name State Tattoo is appropriate. Im a native of Arizona and so are the artist Bryan and Johnny. Bryan s attention to detail, color saturation, color palette, line work, artistic design and creativity are by far superior to anybody Ive ever seen. I’ve had hours of work done by artist Jonny Wogan at previous shops around the valley for the past 9 years and a few pieces done at state already! Dude is the man when it comes to all styles of tattooing! I highly recommend Jonny, Bryan and anyone else that may have been added to the team over at state tattoo since my last visit. All of them are very clean, organized, quick, and efficient When it comes to set up but when it comes down to what counts.... design and quality tattoo work they take their time and it shows in the work. Definitely check out their instagram, Facebook or stop by the shop to see more of their work, The very few pictures on google don’t do these guys and there wide variety of art work any justice! Appointments take a little bit of time it’s part of having a quality tattoo artist.

Ive been going to Landon for multiple of my tattoos. His work is super clean, and the rest of State Tattoo kills it too. The atmosphere is nice and its always fun going to get tatted by them. I would definitely recommend State Tattoo Company!

Surely late, This review is purely of Jonny Wogan. Followed this man through the ranks of tattoo shops and now he runs his own shop. With out a doubt one of the best artist in town and overall a killer dude. Been complimented around the world from his tattoo work and to this day. If you are in search of an artist look no more, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not looking into booking with Jonny.

Have been coming here for over a year now for a chest piece and sleeves, have more sessions scheduled. Clean. Professional. Skilled team. Great group of artists who take pride in their work and treat customers like family.

In the Tattoo world, (and most worlds) cleanliness is next to Godliness..These guys live by that. Unsurpassed organization and clean as can be. But, that’s only the half it.Many shops around town are probably pretty clean. But their artists don’t compare to the steez these guys are putting out. Taking your ideas and vision and laying them down in a unique way sure to satisfy. Not just printing something off google and hammering it into your arm with blown out lines like a lot of shops. True pride and craft in every tattoo.Strongly recommend waiting (in life you must wait for all good things) to get tattooed by anyone in this shop. Though newly established in location, these guys have been and will be around for years to come.
