Wookie Style Tattoos

This was my first tattoo and Kris did an amazing job walking me through the process and making sure I was comfortable. My sister and I got matching tattoos and even had different artists but they both came out spot on!I loved the low key vibe and felt right at home getting a star wars tattoo surrounded by Darth Vader and Chewie art. Highly recommended and will be returning for any future tattoos myself

We have never had a bad experience here! Wookie and Kris are amazing artists. Give them an idea and allow them to be creative and you wont be disappointed! The atmosphere and awesome artistry keeps us coming back! My cover up exceeded my expectations.

Fantastic experience from start to end. If you want a place to get your ink that has the artistry to create a design for just what you want, the skills to translate that design into an awesome tattoo, all done in a clean, professional, and fun atmosphere - look no further. I finally decided to get my first tattoo a few years ago, now I have four Wookie masterpieces that I get extremely positive comments on all the time (Hey, is that the Incredible Hulk drinking wine?!?). Even though I now live in another state, I will be going back to AZ for any and all of my future work. Thanks Wookie!!!

Loved this place. On time, efficient and friendly. Ive been wanting this tattoo for years. Wookie and his coworker were so nice and pricing is beyond fair. Great after care instructions as well. Highly recommend. Ill be back sooner than later!

This shop is absolutely amazing, amazing artists, amazing staff, and I can safely say I’m never scared of what the tattoo is gonna look like when it’s done because I know they’re gonna do a damn amazing job! Had to throw a ton of “amazings” in there cause I can’t stress enough that this shop is definitely the place to go! Kris has been doing my tattoos and they are awesome! Can’t wait to see more of his work in the future!

I am so happy with my tattoo by Kris! He was so patient and explained everything. This is my first tattoo. The store is very clean and everyone there was so personable and kind.

My husband and I went to see Kris for our 10 year anniversary gift. It was an absolute joy working with Kris. We are already planning on getting another tattoo. I had a large tattoo done on my leg/hip and Wookie did an amazing job. Hes extremely talented and didnt waste any time getting it done in record time. Highly professional and friendly wirh a gentle hand and made me feel completely comfortable. I love my beautiful tattoo! Highly recommend!

Cant say much about the quality of tattoos as the guy keeps acting like he doesnt want to give one. This is the second time Ive attempted with him. He gives warnings on how theyll age... mind you we already have tattoos! Then, he states his price as if we dont know what to expect and cant afford it.I dont know if its because were minority... but he gives off vibes for sure.

I just dropped in on Wookie, just for some ink therapy. Something simple. Great, great guy and a talented artist. Im proud of his devotion to mental health, as well. He worked promptly and got me going and on my way fairly quickly. The shop has a nice setup. If youre down to read some Star Wars, this is your place. I will be back.

The entire shop is friendly & I love that they support Military & First responders as well as suicide awareness.I chose Kris Cagle who also chose to do my tattoo request. I have to say I am beyond impressed & thankful in so many ways. He never makes me feel judged or weak (turns out I kind of am) which is really a #1 for me.Moreover, his skill is incredible & when he says he is fast - he really means it. I am only able to tolerate about an hour & he has done at least double if not triple the work in that amount of time. On top of that his artistry & skill are phenomenal.Even further, the man is so incredibly communicative. I mean he answers every email & more. I really never expected to email & bother him about so many things but he is so helpful, kind, informative & beyond friendly.I highly recommend the entire establishment but also Kris!Update: I honestly cant add much more to my initial review other than to say I wish I could rate the shop & Kris every time to express my love & gratitude for my experience & delight in my art received. 5 Star 🌟 & Beyond Treatment every time Im there!!! It is unbelievable how skilled, quick & amazing Kris is!

From consultation to in the chair was 2 days! Wookie put an amazing spin on my idea and absolutely killed it! Already scheduled my next appointment to keep the sleeve going! Couldn’t thank you and the staff enough for a great atmosphere and amazing tattoo! Getting tattooed anywhere else is a mistake. My friend and I went to a few places before coming into Wookie Style Tattoo and we were not disappointed! James greeted us with a smile, spent time speaking with us about what we wanted and his input. Other shops dismissed us and were not welcoming. Wookie Style Tattoo had a vibe that we loved. We got a quality tattoo that was exactly what we wanted! James did not disappoint! Absolutely recommend this shop, and will be coming back for future work! Thank you again James!

This place has a great website and from what I can tell good ownership..I dislike writing bad reviews however...I stopped in at this place this morning. My wife recommended it as it was a local company and supports veterans. Furthermore we live within a couple miles. As a veteran myself I thought sure lets give them our business. I walked in and was met by a receptionist that was frankly pretty rude. A receptionist in any business can make or have a negative effect on it as the first person to great potential clients. She was not friendly let alone interested in helping me as she appeared distracted by something in the back and acted annoyed I even ventured in. The good news is I went down the street to Scooby Tattoo and was treated as though they wanted our business of which they will indeed get. This young lady at Wookie Tattoo needs some customer service skills training.

I’ve been coming to Wookie for my tatts for 8 years and my experience has always been positive and has only gotten better now that he has his own place!! I would and have recommended him to anyone looking to not only get an awesome piece but to also make a connection with your artist and have someone you would come back to. He and the other people there create a very comfortable environment and exhibit a great amount of experience. Whether you want a quote, a flower, or a big meaningful piece/portrait...there’s nobody else I’d go to.

My daughter and I received our first tattoo at WST Tuesday evening. Our artist, Kris and Mike were absolutely amazing. They took their time making sure we were satisfied with the placement and patiently waited while we changed locations. Kris and Mike are genuine, professional and made our experience fun, relaxed and enjoyable. We love our new tattoos and could not be happier with the excellent results. No need to look any further the staff at WST are the BEST!

First photo is what I asked for second is what I got.3 photos like the first were provided by me at my consultation to which the artist (Kris) took his own photos of for reference. I again pulled them up at the start of my appointment and again before we started. I kept asking if it was going to be filled in more to make it look better and was told “yes” I assumed what was drawn was a rough template for him to freehand on as I’ve seen previous work and he was capable. The whole appointment took 1 hour from start of signing paperwork to finish. I didn’t bother trying to say anything at the end as it felt the whole time he was just trying to complete the tattoo ASAP. I was charged $300. I emailed the owner and he agreed it was inconsistent for what I asked for and did offer to fix it for me free of charge, however I really don’t have time and just wanted to move on and get it fixed somewhere else eventually so I asked him instead to fix the price and refund me less what he felt the actual tattoo I received was worth ($300 for some lines and roughly drawn leaves in an hour or less is insane) I didn’t get a reply after that.

I have had 5 tattoos done by Kris and 1 done by Terry (Wookie) I just started getting tattoos 6 weeks ago at 60 years of age. They both have been so professional, so patient with a newcomer to the art. I cannot recommend these guys strongly enough. It has been a pleasure working with them both and I have more planned!

Went in for a consultation and was able to get my tattoo that same day. Was even lucky enough to have it done by the man himself, Terry “Wookie” Hoffman! I knew I wants script but was undecided on font. Wookie helped me find a font and size that would look best for the tattoo location I chose. Super friendly staff. Very clean shop. Would definitely recommend and will return for my next tattoo!

One of the best artists in the Phoenix area. I have seen Wookie grow for over 20 years with my first tattoo and he never ceases to amaze (he has done all of my work including a full back piece). Each time I have come to him with a collage of ideas he executes my vision perfectly (listen to his suggestions he is very seasoned). He could charge much more but keeps his prices low because he is just that type of person. His breadth and depth of knowledge and skills is amazing (line work, shading, portraits,cover ups, etc). All around a solid guy and good person!

I have been to a couple other places in the area... this place by far is the best!! I had a consult when I was able to meet and talk about the design I wanted... usually other places “whip” up designs on the spot. Luckily they’ve been good... but my experience here was different and I had a greater appreciation for the time they took to make sure what I wanted was “exactly” what I wanted.The completed work of art received was more than I expected honestly. Thank you Wookie!!

I have been to many different artists over the years and I wont be taking my overly tatted body anywhere else after finding Wookie Style. Sway did a great job I couldnt be more satisfied. All the guys here are great, down to earth and extremely talented.. Prices are good and with these guys they make sure you get EXACTLY what you want.. Be back next week Sway!

This shop is exceptionally clean. All the staff are friendly, down to earth and accommodating. They understand customer care. When I called to schedule my consultation and appointment, I received scheduling/confirmation texts BEFORE I WAS OFF THE PHONE with the scheduler. They will work with you to create or fine-tune exactly the design and placement you need.My artist, Sway Alvarez, had a wicked sense of humor, told great stories, actively listened and possesses some seriously top-shelf talent.As a 49th birthday present from my wife, this was my first tattoo. Im not sure if Ill get others or not, but if I do, Wookie Style will be my first choice of shops, and Sway will be my first choice of artists.

I went to Wookie Style Tattoo on their Suicide Awareness Event day for a free semicolon tattoo, everyone was extremely helpful and kind. I was walked through the entire process and they gave out free ice cold water for everyone waiting in line. I will definitely go back for more tattoos because from what I saw they were very skilled and had great pricing. I recommend Wookie Style Tattoo.

The guys here have yet to disappoint! 3 tattoos done by Kris and I’ve been happy as a clam each and every time. They take their time to make sure it’s exactly what you want, they make it a fun time, and the price is reasonable. I would highly recommend AND I will definitely be back.

When getting tattooed, you cant just go ANYWHERE. My brother and I did some research and got a good vibe with Wookie online. We had the pleasure of being inked by Sway and not only is this guy talented, he is funny and welcoming. My brother is visiting from out of state and although the tattoos we got were small, Sway made them unique & ours. Its a nice little shop. The guy that did my tattoo was friendly. I would caution people that they are very expensive. He charged me $150+$20tip $170 total!! for a tattoo that he finished in about 15 minutes. All black no shading. Lines couldve been a little straighter. But hey, its on there now so it is what it is.

The shop has lots of parking, so clean and open inside. They have the ability to make your session private if you want. The scheduling system is very helpful to remind you of your appointment. The artists are amazing here and you will not be disappointed.

I just got my tattoo from Kris Cagle. I absolutely love it! He made it look so much better than I actually even pictured it, and I will definitely be going back to have more work done by him. The shop is clean and welcoming and overall just a fabulous experience

10 out of 10 would DEFINITELY go back. Kris was amazing and did an absolutely wonderful job on my tattoo. When I decide on another (if we are still here in AZ) I would go back!!

They didnt let me in the back with a friend due to covid but half of the team there wasnt wearing a mask? So annoying. The tattoo was nice but it was just so annoying that they didnt wear their masks and talked about covid regulations. The purple and blonde haired lady didnt even wear one not even around people. Talk about selfish. You shouldnt put your costumers nun harms way regardless if you think covid is dangerous. If you own a business you should follow covid guidelines. Wont be returning.I see you responded to my comment. She want in the back she was in the front. And she was walking around near guests. Gross
