A Thin Line Tattoo

Got my first tattoo with Natan on friday! it hasnt finished healing yet but i am absolutely in love with it. she was so funny and friendly and accommodating. since it was my first time i was really nervous so i was yapping away but she didnt seem to mind one bit and engaged in my discussions. everyone that has seen my tat has agreed it is absolutely beautiful, and i told them i got it here! if i ever get any more tattoos, i will definitely come here first. thank you!!! :D

Ive had many tattoos at this shop but my most recent is my absolute favorite. The staff in the shop is incredible. They will tell you whether something is just going to look good now and also in 20+ years. Its important to remember its forever haha. Also, the place is clean. It might not be the best place to expect a walk in from specific artists but let me tell you from experience waiting a month or two longer for something youre going to have forever is 100% WORTH IT! I LOVE BILL Sorensen TOO! Just SAYING!

Ive had with done in many studios and Thin Line is extremely professional, from the front desk to the artist. I worked with Jonny and he was fantastic! He solicited feedback and gave input to the design as needed and brought my vision for the piece to life exactly as I envisioned.

I got my first tattoo rather late in life but the experience at this place changed a lot of my pre-conceived notions about tattoo parlors.The parlor is very clean and contemporary, all the staff and artists deal with you in a professional manner and you get comfort in the fact that they seem to take all the necessary precautions to reduce any potential for infections etc.My first tattoo required a lot of line work and Bill Sorensen did an unbelievable job and I have since gotten more pieces of art Bill on my back, left arm and my right shoulder.I would highly recommend this place and Bills line work if you are looking for ink on your skin.

By far the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had! Came in as a walk in crossing my fingers. I’m not sure how easy it would normally be to get a walk in appointment but it was meant to be and I couldn’t be happier. Starting with Sam at the front was great, she was super nice and shared my excitement about being able to get my piece done that same day. I was lucky to see Adam. He was super friendly and made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. They both had great communication with me and Adam did such a good job at making sure I was happy with size and placement before starting. The rooms being private was a nice perk to be able to hangout with your artists and chat! Thank you all so much again :)

Got my first tattoo ever from Bill, healing nicely. He is very clean and meticulous, I love his style and he is very professional with his craft. Highly recommend him and this business

I specifically want to write a positive review for Bill Sorensen and Sam at the front desk. I have had a few of my tattoos done by Bill and he is talented, but also just a good natured guy in general. I have pretty severe needle anxiety and Bill is always beyond patient with me when I get nervous. I would say that if you are really into crisp, straight, satisfying line work he is your guy. Sam at the front desk is also getting a shout out because she goes the extra mile to be accommodating when scheduling and is always really friendly and kind. I dont think Ill see anyone else for a tattoo ever again as long as Bill is working.

Cant say enough positive things about my first tattoo experience at A Thin Line. From the reception to the consultation to the tattoo, it was an amazing experience. Natan tattooed me! I was her last apprentice appointment and GUYS! This is her apprenticeship work (the cicada)!! I am beyond impressed by her talent and would totally go back to her. Her attention to detail is purely phenomenal.

I started going here for my tattoos because my bestfriend and his mom used these guys for all of their ink and I couldnt be any happier. I personally dont know all of the artists but Scott and his wife Sam are the most wholesome people Ive met. Theyre always willing to work with clients as their integrity is top tier. Finding great artists that are also great people are hard to come by. Love you guys ❤️

Can’t say enough good stuff about this shop. From the time I made my first call to schedule they were prompt, personable, and got me in very quickly. Adam Zinanni did my tattoo, and I was just expecting another artist that follows the exact reference picture and doesn’t add their own flare. After asking him to incorporate his own artistic style he came up with this masterpiece. The detail is unreal, and the line work is unbeatable. Adam was so friendly, and held an awesome conversation, which always makes sitting for 5 hours much easier. Not to mention the shop was PRISTINE, Adam regularly changed his gloves, and needles, and made sure I went home with all the proper knowledge on aftercare. This is the only shop I truly trust, and I can’t see myself going anywhere else for a tattoo or piercing. If you’re in between shops, CHOOSE THIS ONE!!!!

I absolutely love going here! I have only gotten my tattoos done by Scott at the Plainfield location and was satisfied every visit with how he approached my ideas as well as executing them. All of my tattoos have come out just as I wanted if not better and I loved how nice Scott was when I got my first tattoo with him. He makes every visit comfortable and I hope to have all my tattoos done here. Adding on to that, I absolutely love Sam at the front desk ! Shes wonderful and easy to work with whenever I call to make my appointments, walking in to start my session or paying for my tattoo! Highly recommend coming here for the quality as well as the wonderful people !

Been coming here for tattoos for a couple years now and every time I come it’s a great experience. Everyone is super friendly helpful etc, Scott who has done most of my tattoos is the best. He is super friendly easy to start a conversation and he’s nailed all my tattoos. I’ll keep on coming here because I love this place

I used thin line about 5 years ago, was very impressed and completely satisfied with that tattoo! I went back a couple weeks ago and got another tattoo, I am completely blown away by the not only the skill of these artists but the whole experience was absolutely amazing! I will not be getting any more tattoos but I can not stress enough to anyone looking to get any after being to about 5 different parlors this is by far the best one I have been. Im still a tattoo newbie but getting my second tattoo here was the best decision I made.The staff here are extremely professional but they honestly treat you like youve been friends for years.Jonny was the artist that I had perform this work based on designs I had created and he took the time to not only ensure it was done perfectly but to understand the meaning, cultural influences and ensure that it reflected what I was trying to communicate through it.In addition, the location is super clean, Jonny has a great music play list and honestly, just a great guy to speak to/with. Lots of stories on his side and honestly, feels like youre catching up with a individual you havent seen in years.Im scheduled to come back here for some more work and would recommend this place to anyone, from getting your first tattoo or getting several more. Im recommending this place to my sister and my mother who are also interested in getting some tattoos.5 stars all around.

First tattoo...Beautiful tattoo HOWEVER...I wanted something smaller given it was my first tattoo and my tattoo artist knew this.I went in the morning of my tattoo under the impression I could modify and would have guidance given the text I got from my tattoo artist. When I mentioned the size of the tattoo may be too large, I was told I could not modify my tattoo or it would affect the detail. I felt apprehensive given what I was told, and he knew this as well. And I was I was also told the position of the tattoo on my shoulder was great (even though I now notice an arrow almost in my underarm, which is unflattering). I am so EXTREMELY disappointed in how large it is given. its my first tattoo, and it is much more than I wanted. I really wanted something much smaller. In addition, I was not informed that cursive script in my tattoo would eventually blur. If I would have know this, I would have never had this put in the design.Also, I was not informed that adding white in a tattoo can affect any chances of correction of a tattoo. Soooo, now I have a very large tattoo on my back shoulder, and I dont know what I am going to do. And now, if I want to make any type of correction to make it smaller, its going to be EXTREMLY expensive and very DIFFICULT to do so. So very upset I trusted them.

Sam Jones is an amazing piercing artist. Before I even booked my appointment, she answered all the questions I had. She is very knowledgeable and quick to respond.At my appointment, she went through all the pricing and jewelry options with me, explaining the pros and cons of each. She ensured my jewelry was properly sterilized, and had me initial the sterilization packet to prove it was properly done.Her studio room was immaculate, and had nice chill music playing. She marked the spot for my piercing and let me see the placement, then went through step by step everything she was going to do and what to expect to feel. She made me feel completely at ease and she is very warm and personable.She was very thorough in explaining aftercare and what to expect my piercing to look and feel like while healing. Even after I went home and thought of a few more questions, she responded quickly with the information I needed.I’m in love with my new piercing and can’t wait to get more! I’ll always come back to Sam, she’s got a new regular for sure.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with A Thin Line. They claimed to be open during their advertised hours, but when I arrived the shop was locked up and no one was there. This lack of professionalism and disregard for their clients time is unacceptable. I wont be returning, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for their tattoo needs.

Poor communication - second time this happened. Couple years ago it took 2weeks+ to respond. I wanted to give them another shot. I had to push Scott to respond to my initial text after 3 days and its been 3 weeks total and over 1.5 weeks with no communication. They are just too busy to respond, going elsewhere

Came here for my first tattoo after my sister and brother-in-law also got their first tattoos there. The place was clean, the people were super nice and friendly, and the tattoo came out beautifully! We all saw Scott and he was great, really fun to talk to (kept my mind off of any pain) and straightforward about the whole process. Definitely coming back for my second tattoo!

Ive gone here for a piercing before and this was my second time. I have to say that Samantha is absolutely amazing. For folks who are new to piercings, she walks you through everything and answers all your questions very helpfully. She is also very clean and double checks that everything is sterile (and lets you check too). Well worth the trek out there! I havent gotten tattooed here before, but I definitely want to at some point! The staff all seems very friendly from the ones Ive interacted with.

I have gotten every piercing I have with A Thin line, and they have all turned out amazing. While I dont have any tattoos, I have gone with friends and family members and the artists are always very excited to work with you and help you achieve whatever you are looking for. The people are all charming in their individuality, but work great together as a team. The minute you step through the door, someone is there to help you with whatever you need. The level of professionalism is perfect as you always know exactly what you are getting into before you start. The shop itself is clean and completely sterile, so there is no worry of gaining an infection after services are complete. I would recommend this parlor over any other to friends and family alike. Every person I know that has done business with A Thin Line is very happy with the outcome.

Haily did my micro blading on my brows and I absolutely love them!!!! The shape and color are perfect and she really took the time to brow map me to make sure they were how I wanted them. She’s so sweet and personable and makes you feel so comfortable!! Will definitely be recommending her to others.

I recommend Jessica Beck for your tattoos, she took her time and helped me create my piece. I look at it every day and fall in love with it more and more every day. It is one of my favorite pieces I have gotten tattooed. She was also super gentle with my ribs and she is super nice as well. Thank you again

Samantha Jones is a great piercer! Shes super helpful and has been a lifesaver when Ive had problems with my nostril piercing. Will definitely be coming back for other piercings. Shes a gem! As a whole, the shop is super nice and clean, and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend!

Front desk staff was super sweet and helpful getting me booked for my very first ever tattoo consult. The consult itself was a fun process and then getting the actual tat done by Adam was a blast. Super chill environment, movies playing on the tv, Adam cracking jokes for days so youre not even tripping that hard over the tattoo pain lol. The aftercare instructions were super clear too and 2 weeks after getting my ink its pretty much finished flaking and is settling into my skin nicely. All in all great experience and Ill definitely be visiting this ship again in the future!

Our experience from start to finish was phenomenal! From the very friendly and professional woman who greeted us when we walked in, to meeting Sam, we couldn’t be happier. Sam pierced my 8 year old’s ears and was incredible. She is patient, super sweet and encouraging with kids, and very skilled at what she does. If I could give A Thin Line 10 stars I would! Thank you for being so wonderful!!

My girlfriend got her nose pierced here. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The shop is clean and well kept, its a very professionally run establishment. Ihighly recommend going here.Edit: I have since gone back to get my ears pierced a second time in each ear. There is a different piercer now then when my girlfriend got her nose pierced. The new piercer did a great job and is great to work with. She helped me straighten out a couple of issues that I had and was very understanding, patient, and professional about everything. I still recommend this shop.

Came here about a week ago for my second tattoo. Jonny Baker was my tattoo artist, and I highly recommend him. He made me feel comfortable during the process of filling in, and blending the colors of my tattoo. This place overall was clean, and even the receptionist came to see how I was doing. I made a great decision coming here.

When I first chose Thin Line it wasnt because I heard of their quality, it was just because they happened to have an availability... 5 tattoos later and I will STILL recommend them to everyone. The staff is friendly and helpful and all of the artists have plenty of experience and are very professional. The prices are what is to be expected, nothing insane and nothing scary cheap, and the work is always good. I cant recommend this tattoo shop enough!

Okay so first they were very professional and kind when my friend and I first walked in; everyone was busy (on the phone or talking with clients) but still acknowledged us until they could speak with us. I went in for a septum and nostril piercing and was quite nervous but I did my homework on the place and let me tell you the piercer, Samantha, exceeded my expectations! She tested every tool and confirmed it was sterile, she used iodine, and gauze (something I had never seen a piercer do in my life) she was clean, professional and answered all my questions I had in my head before I could even ask them! I will most certainly be back to get more piercings and tattoos (if Samantha was amazing then the tattoo artists must be too!) when money replenishes. Thank you!

I got two tattoos here from two different gentlemen both of them where super amazing to work with. All of the staff from the moment I walked into the store where super nice and very helpful. I was unbelievably nervous both times but, the staff helped me calm down and got me laughing and answered all my tattoo questions. Overall amazing place and awesome staff.

I got my first tattoo here upon the recommendation of a previous client. Everything about A Thin Line rocks, from the receptionists friendliness, to the cool vibe, to the fantastic job their artists do. A special shout out to Adam who was my artist. He is a true professional. He is a great sense of humor and knows how to make the experience special.

Piercing artist is fantastic and caring! I thought my 1 year healed nostril piercing had closed up 2 days after removing the hoop. I walked in with no appointment and Sam saw me immediately. She inserted my own new, bagged hoop by using a little pressure to get the inner piercing hole to open up. Saved me from having to wait to heal and get repierced. She didnt even charge me so I left a tip and felt like I needed to leave this glowing review! (FYI I got my nose pierced elsewhere, but would definitely go here next time!)

Many thanks to Samantha who helped me out today with new jewelery for my piercing. I had been having an issue with the jewelry I was initially pierced with at another shop (that shall remain nameless). Samantha and the rest of the staff that I met today was extremely friendly and helpful! This was a much better experience than I had at that other shop. I wish I had come here in the first place!

Haily microbladed and powder filled my eyebrows this week and they look PERFECT. Haily took the time to look at photos of how i fill in my eyebrows and she was able to replicate exactly how i do my makeup! the process was fast and I was informed about the process all along the way which was very reassuring.

I got my eyebrows microbladed by Haily. I didnt have any expectations going into it but I LOVED the outcome! The first session took a couple of hours, most of the time being spent mapping the eyebrows. The second session (6 weeks later) was just an hour. Yes, it hurts - like a tattoo - but totally worth it! Many people have complimented my eyebrows. Thanks for everything, Haily!

Daughter got her ears pierced here. Clean and professional all around! Kenny was outstanding! Explained the whole process from the piercing to aftercare and was patient with my daughter(she hates needles). He even customized her new earings to something she really wanted! Great place all around, recommend highly!

So I got my conch pierced by Samantha and WOW!! She’s amazing idk if it was her technique or the great conversation we had or both but my piercing did not hurt like I thought it would. From a 1-10 scale the pain was like a 3. I will definitely be coming back to Samantha if I need another piercing. Thank you Samantha

Had my septum pierced by Kenny today. He is amazing in every way! Professional yet still fun. Explained the process and aftercare in great detail and more than once. I have multiple piercings from different people yet I have no doubt I will return to Kenny and A Thin Line!

In all my daily encounters of trying to be a successful person I have random people complimenting my tattoos done here. Brian always seemed to have a fresh approach for creating tattoos that should really stand out on their own. Emily once paused during my sesh for a second to kill a fly on my leg 😂😂😂 Bill has a friendly personality, and Kenny has an absolute affinity for charm! ☆art for arts sake☆

I was hoping to get a tattoo at this shop for my birthday this year. I’ve had an idea planned for a long time but wanted to find the perfect artist before I committed to getting it inked. I’ve seen this shop recommended by friends so I checked it out and really liked the work of a specific artist. Unfortunately, it has been pretty hard to get an appointment set up. I don’t know if it’s because of COVID but no one has gotten back to me. Oh well, i guess it just wasn’t meant to be. The search for a great artist for my tattoo will continue.

I got an industrial piercing by Kenny and he was incredible! Hes very conversational and informative, which made the experience enjoyable. He customized my bar and made sure it was exactly what I wanted, measured everything so it would be a perfect fit, then explained everything he was doing during the actual piercing process and waited until I said I was ready. Everything was clean and sterilized, and he thoughoughly explained the healing and cleaning process. All of my questions were answered and everything was very professional. I highly recommend coming here for Kenny if you are considering a piercing and are unsure of where to go; this place is the best in Plainfield!

Went to get a helix piercing and it was great. The guy was thorough, professional, and easy to talk to. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Will definitely go back for more piercings!

While the reviews for the piercing artist seem to be good, the tattoo artist there, Brian, and the service from the staff would be rated less than zero. I made an appointment for 2 people to get a tattoo together, at the same time. It was stressed by Alex that they needed to come in to have a consultation with the artists who would be drawing them. Alex said that one artist could do both people and I explained that they wanted them done at the same time. He suggested sending a picture, and I said sure, I could even text one. He replied that I could not really text to a landline in a condescending way. I should have known then!!We drove an hour on a Sunday for a 5pm appointment to meet Brian who informed us that we only had an appointment with him, and we did not need to see two different artists, he could make the sketch for both. This was the opposite of what Alex explained, and from my experience getting a tattoo, you want the artist drawing it to be the person giving you the tattoo. When I explained to Brian a couple of times the contradictions between Alexs statements and his, he just kept repeating himself that he could do both. I told him we sent a picture also per Alexs instructions, and he looked up the picture, for the first time, at that moment. He stated that he could draw the picture for both because it looks basic. OF COURSE it was a basic drawing because a non artist drew it! Brian then asked if we wanted the consult. Why would we trust anyone there after the condescending and unprofessional attitudes. We left and are only regret is wasting the time. We will go to Revolution tattoo, always treated well there and with respect! As if they were trying to actually provide us with cool and good service!

Got tattooed by Scott a long while ago, tattoo looks amazing, get compliments fairly often. Dude was super chill and professional made it a great experience.

Had a mix up with scheduling/communication on the their end that was frustrating at first, but they made up for it and were very apologetic which was awesome.My husband and I got a couples tattoo by Dan, and he did a fantastic job. I would highly recommend them!

Scott Lotz has been tattooing me for a couple of years now. He is awesome! Always look forward to our sessions. Everyone there is great and I would never go anywhere else.

I had tattoo done and went back for another. When I went back for more work, I was treated very rudely and told I had to wait 3 months and my artist kept walking. I was taken aback and disappointed, however I found another shop and have an amazing artist Ive sent many friends to. They have been treated very well by my new artist and shop. Everything happens for a reason.

This place is a joke. The receptionist was rude and could care less about who walked in. After driving 45 minutes they tell us that just the jewelry was going to be in the 35+ range.. Not to mention a $35 fee for just the tools. Went to Chi Town in Aurora instead and got good service with good prices. Thanks Thin Line.

I went in a couple weeks ago to get a very simple tattoo done, and I absolutely adore how it turned out. Scott Lotz did a wonderful job, and I will definitely go back there for my next tattoo.

Jessica Beck is probably one of the sickest artist youll ever find. Ive been going to her since she was an apprentice almost 7ish years ago. Her work is incomparable to anyone.

They have several very talented artists. They do require you to first have a consultation and put down a deposit so make sure to plan accordingly and make an appointment ahead of time.
