I can say we are very amazed at the customer service this establishment has and how they treated us like they knew us forever. Jule is one of my go to tattoo artists! He has done multiple pieces for me! He does fantastic work! He’s light handed and pays attention to detail! He also shows a lot of patience with someone like me who has control issues and tends to move a lot to see what he is doing!! Been here since they’ve reopened post-hurricane, and all I can say is WOW!!! The changes they’ve made to Black Sails is extraordinary! The floors are redone, there’s 4 artists to choose from, and everyone is very welcoming! These people take pride in their studio- everything is clean and even the smell in the studio is clear. I love this place. Piercings, tattoos, and an almost endless amount of jewelry options? How much more could you ask for?! Stop in and meet everyone!

My friend and I wanted to get a small tattoo and when we walked in we didn’t know they closed in 30 minutes. We were going to leave, but Hope and Angelica said they would squeeze us in and stayed a little late to do our tattoos. Great customer service. Both ladies did an awesome job and everyone was very nice and friendly. Definitely come here!!

($160, 1-2 inch tattoos) Extremely efficient as well, told her what I wanted and when I got there she already had multiple designs ready for me to choose from! I can’t thank her enough… So excited for them to heal!

I finished my tattoo at this shop with Chris Peters. This shop is also a great little place. It’s pretty unassuming as you drive by. You’ll probably think “oh another generic strip mall tattoo shop” but trust me man go inside and check them out. They have great people working there that do great work. My artist moved here from sacred rights and I followed him over. If you want the best tattoo around go see Chris Peters. I’ve gotten a bunch of compliments on my tattoo. Can’t wait to get more.

I just got my first tatoo there. The shop was VERY clean. Dave - the artist that worked with me was very patient, and very kind to a 64 year old woman. He and I joked and laughed and got along nicely. I squeeked once and he reassured me we were in the home stretch. Great experience! Love my tattoo and will go there again if I decide on getting another one. Love the place, and love Dave. One tip- if youre older - bring your earphones and music.

So, I came in July 26th for these tattoos and my artist was Vee. Im an older person with delicate skin and I just feel that she was way to rough and as a result of this work, I had to visit my Dr because of the pain and drainage. My Dr. Diagnosed the skin on both legs. The one with Linus has cellulitis, and the heart has second to third degree burns. I Was given 3 different meds and have to go to tempest night to have these re worked. Im not going to be mean, but does this look like a good experience!

My BFF and I decided we wanted matching tattoos we walked into Black Sails Tattoo hoping they would take us they welcomed us with no problems at all! They were very helpful and friendly ! Made us feel right at home ! Jeff did our tattoos they turned out better than we hoped ! Next time I have that I NEED a new tattoo feeling I will be going to Black Sails Tattoo!

My experience at Black Sails Tattoo was amazing. The artist That did my tattoo was Jule Rutherford. I came in with an open mind and showed him a design of what I wanted but told him to make it completely his own and he did just that. It came out beautifully and original. I’m very pleased!! He did my very first mother daughter tattoo wonderfully and I scheduled for my shoulder tattoo the next day!!! Wonderful work of art truly!

Everyone does whatever they can to make you feel comfortable. I’ve gotten my tattoos done by Vee and she’s the girl! Thai is the best hands down. I havent laughed so hard in a long time. Customer service is top notch too. Their alwayss ready and answer with in no time. Also has piercings done and hes great with kids too! Definitely would recommend.

Immediately walking into black sails I felt welcomed and comfortable. I was greeted and sat within 5 min of doing my paperwork. My artist was V, and let me tell you, I feel like Ive know her my whole life with how comfortable she made me, And dont even get me started about the quality of the tattoo!!! I left black sails feeling more confident about myself and I was super pleased with their service! Ive gone back for three more since and each time V has exceeded all expectations.

I took my friend here yesterday for her first piercing! Shaun was excellent and informative! He also help change out my nose studs as well! I just moved to this area and was looking for piercers, I will definitely be coming back here for my all my future piercings. Clean atmosphere and friendly staff.

The shop was clean and the artists were great. They were super honest and even talked my friend out of placement of a certain tattoo because of fading. I will definitely be going back for more. Tyler did my tattoo and helped me design exactly what I wanted based on a drawing I brought in.

I have received a tattoo from both Gena and Vee, they are both fantastic artists. Very professional and wonderful in this filed. The shop is clean and well organized. It’s nice walking in there not being overwhelmed at any given time.Vee did an amazing job being able to get my grandparents handwriting perfect to make the perfect tattoo to remember my grandmother and my late grandfather so I can always carry them.And Gena did a fantastic job giving my sister and myself our gorgeous matching tattoos as well as touching up an old tattoo that was not done very well.I appreciate these two and will always come back. Did I mention we drive TWO HOURS just to see these girls? Fantastic all around! Everyone in the shop is super nice and accommodating.

I first came in as a walk in for a Friday the 13th tattoo back in December with Gena. Today I came back for another small tattoo. It’s gorgeous! Gena was really patient at all of my appointments — I’m really “particular” so we moved the stencil around a few times until the pieces fit in nicely with other tattoos on my legs. She was also really accommodating when I needed to reschedule due to a last minute emergency. I definitely plan on going back to Gena at Black Sails!

After visiting many tattoo shops along 41, I chose Black Sails because of their clean atmosphere over everyone else. They were very professional and made me feel at ease getting my first tattoo. Tyler was great, he adjusted my design to fit exactly what I was looking for and had no problem taking me as a walk in.

Got my tongue pierced by Shaun, I absolutely love it. Everyone is professional and friendly. Will go there from now on for any piercings/tattoos.Edit: Went back again for my bridge piercing back in August, I love it. Went back today with some friends at two different times. First time, I got under eye dermals and my septum reopened, friend got the side of her nose. We all went back about half an hour before closing time and my other friend was able to get his eyebrow done. Always clean, professional, and exactly where I want to go to get any work like this done. Cannot recommend enough.

I had been drawing three dot on my arm to remind me to calm down, and on a whim decided to get it tattood. Tyler not only squeezed me in but did an amazing job. He was extremely professional and very chill. The shop was inviting and clean, would absolutely go back.

I went to Level five yesterday and had some tattoos recolored and also added to. I was pleased with my experience. No complaints. Zae did the work and I was totally happy, the next time I need any work done I will definitely come back as a return customer. Not to mention I contacted 5 shops in the area and for what I had done they all quoted me a higher price than I paid total tip and all at level five. I thought everyone was professional and I felt comfortable here.

Tattoo artist Tyler Gray did a decent sized piece on my leg and did an amazing job, made me feel extremely comfortable and the piece came out awesome. Black and Grey work grim reaper. I would definitely recommend coming into the shop if you want some fantastic art work done by great people.

My friend and I both got piercings done by Shaun and had a great experience. We were walk ins for the Black Friday special and were able to be taken right away he was nice and the shop was clean and pleasant. I would defiantly recommend Shaun and Black Sails tattoo.

On vacation and decided a tattoo was in order, did some research and came across Black Sails Tattoo.... what a great choice! Hope did an amazing job, quick and painless! ;) Jule and Hope made it a great time! Kept us laughing all night. 4 tattoos in about 2 hours....AMAZING! I will be back!

Black Sails is my favorite tattoo shop. Shaun did both my Medusa and my Labret piercings and they turned out great, no complications. He’s very gentle and tells you everything you need to keep it clean. I definitely suggest going to him for your piercing needs. 😍

Walked in to get my nose pierced with no appointment and Shaun got me right in. Everyone there was super friendly and professional. Shaun was very nice, explained what he was going to do before hand and explained aftercare with me as well, very good at what he does. He even said hed change my jewelry when it was time. Definitely recommend Shaun for any piercing you might need.

Went in today to do the gumball machine tattoo and I must say I am super pleased, my artist was Tyler gray and so far he has to be my favorite artist ! He sat and talked not once did I feel out of place or uncomfortable and his work was amazing.he not only gave me what was on the sheet but he made it his own! I did not expect to get so much shading and detail out of a $60 tattoo but he blew my mind and I couldnt be happier

I have been coming to Black Sails for my tattoos and piercings since they became Black Sails. Ive had work done by many of the artists here and each one is so very talented. Shaun is the best piercer Ive been to and I wont trust anyone but him in the future.

The person who did my piercing was very professional! it was sterile and precise and exactly what I wanted. I always feel a little out of place going to tattoo parlors but the staff was friendly and made me feel welcome. just got my first facial piercing and i’m absolutely in love with it :)

Amazing Place amazing people for your first or next tattoo I recommend going to Black Sails and asking for Thai he did an amazing job last-minute idea to go get a tattoo walked in with an idea picture of what I wanted set an appointment to return later that day at 5 p.m. and he customized it made it his own and it is gorgeous also touched up the name on my wrist came out beautiful

This was my first tattoo and The designer I have was amazing. He was very talkative which helped my anxiety and every time it hurt he would stop and make sure I was okay to proceed. I will defiantly come back to this tattoo shop and get tattoos in the future. The artist that I had was Jule.

I walked in today with no appointment to have my six year olds ears pierced. Shaun answered all of our questions, helped my daughter stay calm through the whole thing and took care of us right away.Would recommend to others and would go here again if I ever have another child that needs their ears pierced safely.

Definitely recommend black sails for all of your tattoo and piercing needs!! All my ink and piercings Ive gotten since moving to Florida have been here and for good reason!! I have been to both Vee and Jule here for tattoos, they are awesome! Everyone here is super friendly and professional, they also have a great sense of humor!

Was very disappointed with Tyler. My husband had listed an old motorcycle on “buy, sell, trade” through Facebook, Tyler had contacted him offering a trade. He proposed a full sleeve tattoo for the bike that my husband was selling. I felt a little uneasy about this only because tattoos are permanent thing and so I told my husband to really look into him to make sure that he was good. After his first appointment, the outlined and everything looked good. He had only done from the wrist area to about 4 inches below the elbow. My husband is sometimes unfortunately a very trusting man and he believes that there’s good in this world which there can be but I have come to find that a lot of people are not very trustworthy nor good. So my husband goes in for his second appointment and this time he brings the bike trusting that Tyler is going to finish the tattoo. After this appointment my husband came home and told me that he had given the bike to Tyler, I of course was very mad about this because I said you should never give somebody something until you receive the full payment but he said “no worries I feel like I can trust him”. After Tyler had received the bike things started to become very shady. He would not respond my husbands messages or they would set up appointments and Tyler would bail last minute. A month or so had gone by with no word from Tyler and so I told my husband to contact him and to see what was going on and when they could do another appointment for the tattoo, my husband then received a message from Tyler and He was saying that he wanted money for the tattoo from now on, he wanted my husband to pay for supplies and start giving him some money for his time. I was obviously outraged by this because there was a verbal contract and technically written since it was all over Facebook messenger that there would be a trade, a full sleeve for the bike. My husband responded to his message by saying “no, we had an agreement I would give you the motorcycle for a full sleeve.” Tyler then blocked my husband on Facebook messenger. It just goes to show you can’t trust people. Now my husband has an unfinished tattoo on the lower part of his arm and we’re going to have to pay someone to finish it. I am very disappointed in Tyler’s honesty and character. Stealing is a felony. And that’s pretty much what he did.

Awesome shop with a great staff. Amazing artists doing amazing tattoos if your in Port Charlotte this is the only shop to go to. If youre not in Port Charlotte it looks like you need to take a ride.

Zae has done several of my tattoos now and all have turned out amazing. Rob the body piercer was cool as hell. He even blew fire in the parking lot. Over all a great time in a great place

Shaun pierced my Tragus and Rook. He was beyond gentle and very professional. He definitely knows what he’s doing. Will be going back for any future piercings I desire.

I went when they were doing palm size tattoos for $50 in late October. Everyone was very friendly and my tattoo turned out perfect. Very clean environment as well. Highly recommend

My girl got a Mew tattoo done by Hope and it looks amazing. Everything was very sanatary, and Hope was very professional and we talked about anime the whole time. Any anime related tattoos you want to get go to Hope she is the best.
