I was able to walk in and get a great tattoo. Joey took great care of me! Im such a indecisive person, which can be tricky. I know what I dont like, but cant express or decide on what I do like. I explained this to Joey, and gave him the rights to do what he thought I would love. And this guy hit the nail on the head! And he has a soft touch , easiest and least painful tattoo Ive ever done. I 10000000 times will use him again and recommend him! I cant wait to see what he creates for me next

I had a great experience at Greg’s Tattoos once again. Joey did an awesome job on my daughter’s first tattoo so I had him do one for me and he did an excellent job once again. I will definitely recommend him to anyone who wants a tattoo.

Went in this afternoon with my son who had gotten 3 tattoos here previously. Ended up working through a parrot tattoo and skull with crossed swords with Joey. Couldn’t be happier. I have wanted a parrot tattoo for the longest time (big Parrot head), and love the suggestions Joey had. He listened to my thoughts, gave advice for the scale and art on the skin, and it turned out great!

I moved to the Hampton Roads area almost 3 years ago. It had been a while since I had gotten fresh ink, and I was overdue! I had been strictly black and white, but thinking about a watercolor piece.I randomly saw a post in an area FB group that linked an art page of a tattoo artist. It happened to be Skylar at Gregs. I messaged her and the rest is history!We chatted about my idea for a stylized watercolor semi-colon and she brought it to life! Since that first piece, she has done 3 script pieces for me in my familys handwriting, and Im getting another watercolor piece done by her this week!I cannot say enough good things about how talented, sweet, and spicy Skylar is. I LOVE her!The entire crew at Gregs is amazing. Personable, professional, welcoming and fun to hang out with. The atmosphere really puts you at ease. Every time I go in, its like visiting my friends (but leaving with some sick art!)I will definitely continue coming back and havent hesitated to recommend Gregs and Skylar to anyone who asks!

Getting a tattoo is something that takes time. It not only takes time to find an artist but to find one that will listen to you and be patient with you, that can be hard. My first appointment I was supposed to start getting the first part of my 1/2 sleeve. Instead we spent hours getting the drawing the way I wanted it. Greg was beyond patient and understanding with me. He knew that this piece was going to be very personal, emotional and sentimental for me, as it is a memorial tattoo for my late husband. Greg is very professional, his staff is professional, they are such great people. My drive just to get to his shop is an hour and a half away. Let me tell you it has been well worth the drive!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart Greg for fulfilling everything I had invisioned by pouring every ounce of talent you have into my piece of art.More photos to come soon! I wanted to wait until I took off my second skin to write a review. I had Cierra and she did a fantastic job. The line work was smooth and the color is settling into my skin very well. She was very light handed and meticulous with details. She kepy me informed during the whole process. Keep an eye on this one.

I have been to Greg’s tattoo shop often in this last year. I have been coming up with one of his clients. The atmosphere is genuinely laid back, I never leave without a smile. The people who work here are funny and always welcoming!I have been tattooed by different people over the last 10 years. Obviously everyone has their own tattoo style and experiences with people. However, this is experience was different. I have always been nervous on getting a line work tattoo. If there is a slight mistake in a line you can see it. So I went to the tattoo shop yesterday 10/08/23 not expecting to get anything done. I have wanted a filler dainty tattoo on my forearm for a while now. So I showed Greg what I wanted and asked if Q could do it. Like really could do it! He said absolutely he could do it. So I put my faith into his work. I haven’t been this happy with a tattoo in a long time and I am beyond grateful. Thank you for the beautiful addition to tattoo collection! Can’t wait to see what we cook up next!Ask for Q!

My husband and I both got tattoos at Greg’s for the first time and the experience was amazing! Mine was done by Q and my husband’s by Greg. Their consultation, knowledge and precision resulted in the best tattoos we’ve ever gotten and we’ve gotten a lot! They take so much pride in their work and the customer service is top notch! The vibe in the entire shop is so comfortable it’s like we were being tattooed by old friends. Shoutout to Gabby also who took care of us at front desk. Cierra did an amazing job on my lotus flower tattoo. She was very knowledgeable and thorough. She took the time to show me the needle packaging and description of the needles that would be used. Cierra worked with intention snd continuously asked how I was feeling and wanted to make sure that each step of the process was going well. After she was done, she discussed after care at length. I will definitely use her again for my future tats!

I went here for the first time a week and a half ago and Joey created a BEAUTIFUL tattoo on my inner forearm. I had an inspo pic but wanted completely different flowers, so he custom designed my piece and I’m obsessed. The flower details are lovely and I’ve already received several compliments. I will gladly see Joey again for more work in the future, and my husband is now planning to get his first tattoo there sometime soon too.

Shaye did a fabulous job on a tattoo I had been thinking about for a long time. She had a gentle touch and kindly talked me through all the different needles, colors, procedures, etc. It turned out beautiful. I found this shop while googling as I was looking for a memorial piece to be done. The owner was amazing and so was Joey. Joey listened to what I wanted and was able to capture it beautifully through art. I highly recommend this tattoo shop as you will not be disappointed.

Came here to get an unfinished tattoo finally finished and fix the issues the original artist caused. Aubrie did an amazing job fixing/covering the original lines and finished the tattoo. Will definitely be coming back for future tattoos

Skylar is great! She’s come a long way in such a short time. I challenged her very early to a hand tattoo and she took it on no problem. She is also very profession and friendly. Greg was also very nice and gave some great ideas to pull it all together. I love my tattoo!

So I went just to watch my GF get her first tattoo.. went with something small and safe, and Joey (our artist) was very thorough with the explanation and expectations of how to keep it clean and pristine! This has to be one of the BEST tattoo experiences that I have ever had!!! I went in for a cover-up and Joey listened to what I wanted and delivered!!!! The entire staff was friendly and professional. While doing my tattoo, Joey was efficient and knowledgeable. He showed me the brand new needles he was going to use and opened them in front of me...I really appreciated that. I had a great experience with Joey! I looked up his work before I went to him, because I got a tattoo some artists won’t do (on the side of my finger). He was professional and efficient. Greg was in the shop, too, and I felt good about supporting his business. He’s former Navy; aside from that, he’s a cool guy to chat with. I’d recommend a friend going!

I went with my mom to get matching tattoos with her and all the employees were extremely attentive and had a good sense of humor. The tattoo artist, Joey, did a phenomenal job and did everything in his power to make sure we were comfortable. 10/10 experience!

I am beyond happy with my New tattoo. Ive known Greg for a long time, and Im so happy that I was able to be tattooed by him. He gave me exactly what I was looking for, and was extremely patient with the creation process. It came out perfectly.

Joey did my second tattoo and the experience was far better than my first. He made sure to start with an area that would be less painful and did what he could to make the experience a good one. Went in for the Friday the 13th deal. I was a bit uneasy to sign a student waiver at first knowing that a student would be doing my tattoo. I was wrong, not only was Greg being active in supervising and overseeing the process of each tattoo the whole time, they were great artists. I got my first tattoo 2 weeks ago with Solo. I researched for reputable artists and came across Gregs Tattoo shop. Wendy placed me with Solo, who was AMAZING!!!! He explained the entire process in great detail and made the entire experience fun; so fun, in fact, that I came back and got another one. I really appreciate his attention to detail and kindness as well as his gentleness with my tattoos. I will definitely be back and will refer others to this shop.

Had driven all over trying to find a good tattoo shop for my sisters first tattoo but no place felt quite right until we walked into Greg’s tattoo shop. We were walk in at a later time in the evening and usually you have to have a consultation but they worked with us so generously after hearing how we drove all over trying to find the right place. They explain the whole process to my sister, explained the detail how the writing would look all before she even went back which was such a blessing! Their cleanliness was superb which gave me confidence during these uncertain times. Great atmosphere, and great people! Was very willing to take it slow for her first time and had such a calm demeanor. One of the best tattoo shops I’ve been in and they are BlaCk owned!! HIGHLY recommended!!

Greg, the owner, was informative about tattooing and how he runs his shop. One of his students, Joey, was in the middle of tattooing but was still courteous and conversational. The atmosphere is inviting and Greg was able to answer all of my questions thoroughly. I will be attending again.

I took my daughter there today to get a small tattoo on the back of her neck. Everyone was so polite and welcoming. The place was super clean and nicely decorated. Greg took the time to explain each step of the process, even to the point of showing us the expiration date of the needle he used so we could be assured that it was safe - Ive never had anyone do that before. He was very careful with the placement of the tattoo, taking the time to make sure it was perfect. I could tell that he sincerely cared about making sure my daughter and I were happy with her tattoo. Everyone who was working there very obviously love their job and it shows. I will not hesitate to go back to Greg for future tattoos, and I highly recommend him to everyone!

Nice tattoo shop. Joey is a freakin monster artist! Ive gotten 5 tattoos by him and love them!! Pricing is weird to me and dont seem very competitive but definitely a great shop to get your first tattoo.

Greg is my new favorite tattoo artist! As soon as I walked in I noticed how clean the studio was then I met his receptionist who was wonderfully pleasant and helped me immediately. I needed Greg to ‘fix’ some things I didn’t like about a tattoo I got in CA and he not only fixed it - he made it perfect! I highly recommend Greg for you next or first tattoo. I went up there with a buddy for their flash tattoo sale they started on Friday the 13th. The guy that tattooed my friend and I, Joey, was very professional and focused. Greg was my artist when I went for a tattoo. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was light as well. The tattoo parlor was neither hot or cold, so I wasnt shivering or sweating profusely. The floors looked like they were cleaned regularly and the countertops were kept clear as well.Greg has good line work and a high attention to detail, which was good considering the tattoo I got was all lines.

This is a great tattoo shop. Its very clean and friendly staff. Greg the owner did my tattoo and was extremely professional. I can have very sensitive skin and I did not bleed at all and had very minimal redness that was pretty much shortly after the work was done.
