Love seeing danny at hobo’s! everyone here is super chill and friendly, and danny does solid, quick work. just know that this place is cash only, and it’s up a set of stairs so not handicap accessible.

This is an absolutely legendary shop that offers friendly, professional, and world class tattooing. Jason and everyone at the shop is amazing. I gladly drive the several hours to Hobo because it’s simply the best shop in New England. Portsmouth, NH is such a fun place to visit! Thanks again!

Phil is fantastic- he’s done about 10 of my tattoos. Place is super clean. Phil is patient and has a gentle touch. His line work is immaculate and color is beautiful. I will keep going to him!

This place was amazing!! My tattoo artist Harley was so patient and kind with this being my first tattoo I was nervous but he made the process easy and has quick as possible. Also if you are wondering on a pain scale it only hurt maybe a 3/10 in the area I got and maybe 4/10 on the edges. Would totally recommend coming here and seeing Harley as your artist!

My girlfriend got a new tattoo on her inside arm , and looks fantastic, I cant wait to get mine! The shop was clean and had lots of tattoo ideas on the wall(great stuff) and our tattoo artist was very nice.I Recommend Harrison Wellwood as a tattoo artist

I got my first tattoo here today! And I am not disappointed!!! Turned out wayyyy better than I thought it was! He did it quick and easy! I 100% recommended this place! He made me very comfortable and confident!!!!

My husband and I came in for a walk-in tattoo on 2/27/23. The whole experience was wonderful! We were greeted by Victoria. Who was super friendly and helpful setting up a time with an artist. I ended up getting an appointment a little later that day with Steve. He was so incredibly kind and personable! The tattoo came out amazing he nailed both the line work and colors. I really am over the moon with the whole experience. The vibe in the whole shop was really good. Friendly people doing fabulous work.

My two friends and I last minute decided to get a tattoo. We tried two other places and both were full or not taking walk ins. We have been to Hobo’s before, I haven’t gotten anything done by them but I have been with other friends while they get their tattoos done. Every time it was a great experience even for myself who didn’t get one done. When we walked in we were greeted by the assistant Victoria, she explained cost range right off the bat when we asked. She was also so attentive and welcoming. Once we got in all three of us got William Jackman. He was FANTASTIC! I am not amazing when it comes to pain so I was struggling a little but he was literally hyping me up saying I was doing a good job etc. Will overall is super talented and does a great job at distracting from the pain, he also is fun to chat to. I 100% recommended him and this place. Super clean and amazing to look at all of the artwork on the walls. Fast service, cool artists, great assistant, and just a fun time! I have had 5 pieces done here since November of 2021 and I gotta tell you, Hobos is far and away, the best tattoo parlor I have been to. Two of the artists, Phil and Will are super cool dudes, both of them did a great job on the pieces they did for me. Friendly environment. Overall just a good experience. 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking to do Walk-In’s, appointments, etc. Keep up the good work!

As a first-timer, Danny made me feel very confident and comfortable. He made sure the work looked and felt right and gave me ample opportunity to tweak the details in his art to my liking, and I never felt rushed.The atmosphere was very chill, cozy and not too clinical but obviously clean and professional. He made sure to check in with how I was feeling during the process which definitely put me at ease.Finally, the end result was beautiful! His design and the execution in linework and color is flawless.Danny obviously has a special talent for American and Neo-traditional work and I will definitely be back for more!

This is an incredible tattoo shop. Ive gotten plenty of tattoos before but I have never been to a place that cares so much about their customers. While there, another artist was assisting a couple getting their first tattoos. He advised them on placement, how the tattoo would age, and reassured them that he could move the stencil or adjust it if they didnt like it. Theres always that place where you feel pressured to agree to the stencil at first, but this is not one of those places. All of the artists were kind, caring, and chatty.In their downtime, other artists were cleaning their stations or organizing their supplies. Hobos Tattoo is a clean place to get a tattoo, and it shows.If youre getting your first tattoo, this would be a great place to go. They take the time to explain things to you and dont pressure you into anything. For those with more tattoos, this is a great parlor. The atmosphere was welcoming and the artists all do fantastic work.

This place is fantastic, I had an appointment with Danny Clark and the work he did was awesome Im so happy with his work, its gorgeous. The environment in the shop was very comfortable and all the guys in there are friendly and humorous fun to be in the same room with, if I wasnt going thru so much fn pain I would have enjoyed it more. Kudos to the guys there and the work they do.

I went to Hobos yesterday and got my first ever tattoo. I worked with Andrew to create a custom design, and he did an amazing job! Andrews calm demeanor put me at ease, and he made my first tattoo experience enjoyable and stress-free. Its obvious that Andrew takes a lot of pride in his work, and he is a very talented artist. I highly recommend Hobos Tattoo and Andrew, and I look forward to my next visit!

Ive been there 2x in the past few months. I had to go back to have my hexagon made into the circle it should have been. A month later, I went back to get some writing on my right chest (that looks terrible)! It looks like the guy had the shakes. Not one line is smooth!!! I went back again and was told....it looks fine 🫤.

I got my first tattoo at Hobos two weeks ago on 1/22. I was pretty nervous as Id never had a tattoo before. Sean my tattoo artist really helped make me feel comfortable. He was super professional and was really easy to work with when I asked him if he could make the sketch a little smaller. The tattoo looks exactly how I imagined it and I would definitely go back here again for another one!

Have gotten 3 tattoos here and can confidently say I’ve enjoyed every time I’ve been. Great work and friendly artists.

I will never return here. I came in for a cross on my knuckle and the artist charged me 120$. i hadn’t realized that’s way overpriced at the time and he took advantage of me being young and never having had a tattoo done before. the tattoo took 10 minutes, 15 at most and then also the lines need to be gone over again since i can see the individual needle marks, it should be a solid line but it’s not, it needs to be done over. For 120$ this shop is a scam. don’t let them fool you. artists name was Phil

No complaints, hobos tattoo shop is amazing, worth driving 5 hrs to get one done. billy is awesome and I am sure of other tattoo artists are so great and unique in there own way... I used to live in Portsmouth and I am so happy I stumbled upon this little gem. Forever grateful for hobos professionalism towards the whole body art culture.

I got my first tattoo from Hobos yesterday and Andrew did an awesome job! Wicked clean work. Seems like they have got a cool crew working there too. Already thinking about the next piece of artwork I want to get inked.

Danny Clark was my tattoo artist. Planned out to get a tattoo for me and my girlfriend for my birthday on the 11th and he designed both of them quickly and then got them both done in little as 3 hours! Also his work is fantastic my tattoo came out much better than I thought it would those guys over there really know what they are doing not to mention very friendly and informative!

Very disappointed. I went in for a consultation was referred to a specific artist and told to email him. I emailed him and never received a reply. I called and he was unavailable still have not heard from him and its been about 2 weeks now. Of your are booking out several weeks atleast have the decency to email back or return a call to inform me of the situation. I wasnt just spending a little $ I was looking at something that was several sessions and close to a $1,000.Ill find another artist

Although I loved my tattoo, I do feel that I was taken advantage of when it comes to price. This was my first tattoo and I was extremely nervous to talk price before hand (mistake). I assumed my fairly simple piece that took 40mins-1 hour would be around $150, it was closer to $300 with tip. I do understand it’s a pandemic, but I felt the price was made up based on the fact It was my first time and I had not talked price before the tattoo was finished. Despite the price, being a little high compared to others in the area, I got a nice traditional tattoo that was covid safe.

I will never go back to this place ever again and will actively advise anyone else to avoid at all costs. My wife and I had just had to cancel our vacation due to a tragic death in the family, to take a minds off things we decided to get a long agreed tattoo wedding ring tattoo literally 2 zigzag lines, 4 in total including both of us, the artist, Spencer was fairly disinterested in the idea but we were eager to get it done so we just thought, just go for it, after he was done (took less than 5 minutes each) he told us it was $80 a piece, ($160 for less than 10 minutes of work) telling us that was the minimum for any tattoo, something you would think shouldve been mentioned beforehand and/or should be plastered around the shop, it is not. In our vulnerable state we paid, kind of still in shock from our bad news and now this. My wife decided to call back and complain about the poor service and daylight robbery we had just experienced and the artist gave some pathetic response about taking money out of his own pocket, and offered no real apology. I can say that we should have discussed the cost beforehand but we thought it would be more like $80 for the pair considering it was so minimal. The work itself is poor at best, for such a basic symmetrical design mine is uneven and my wifes faded almost instantly, we were told we would have free touch ups but neither of us want to set foot in that place ever again.

These guys are amazing, professional and most importantly very talented. We walked in from out of town with an idea for a small tattoo for my wife. Billy drew it up perfectly and took care of her. He was patient with her and the tat came out better than we imagined. Do it Hobo style in Portsmouth!!

There’s a reason why I continue to go back to Bill for almost 10 years now. The shop is incredibly clean and the artists/employees are extremely professional at what they do. Hobo’s Tattoo is by far, one of the best tattoo shops you could go to in this day and age, no questions asked.

Jess is amazing! I go to her for all my piercings I havent had any problems with anything that Ive gotten pierced there. I tell all my fiends who are looking for a place to get their piercings done to go see Jess. I wouldnt go anywhere else but to hobos to get my piercings done.

World Class tattoos at there best. I literally drove 1000 miles to have my husbands tattoo done here. We had work done by George 4 years ago and swore we would never have anyone else do our work. We have stayed true to that and will be returning again another 1000 miles in November.

Super overpriced, paid 160 for a 30 minute tattoo session. it’s overall ok work but i’ve never bruised as much as i have this time compared to other tattoos.

Very professional and friendly, Steven was able to work me and two buddies in as a last minute idea for matching tattoos since Im visiting from Pennsylvania. Definitely recommend going to them and will book with them next time Im in the area

I went into hobos and George the owner did my tattoo. i called ahead of time and told him exactly what i wanted (song lyrics) when i got there he told me it was to much for him to do, after begging him to do it he slept half the words wrong or used the wrong form of the word. he was very rude and rough with me. it was my first big tattoo and his attitude towards me made me sick. i would not recommend him to anyone.

The artist who drew out my tattoo was great. George, the owner, did the work and I will. It be going back. The lines are shaky and the letters are uneven and sloppy. I cant speak for the other artists, but I would not get a tattoo from George ever again.

Went to get a 1” tat on the wrist. Single line, black&white. Tried to charge $100.00. When I suggested it would be better priced at $50-60.00, the guy talked to me like I didn’t know what I was talking about. Positive experiences in the past, but the new guy at the desk is a jerk. Not returning.

They did two feathers on my back. Its raised and bleed into a big mess. People think I have two ballie slippers on my back. Its pretty bad when people cant even tell what it is. They are all such wanna bes. They need to take more lessons or get out of the tattooing business. They are the worst. Dont get tattooed here.

Got my first nose piercing here, and it was a great experience. Already thinking of getting another piercing and know that it will be pierced there. Love love love the service and the staff, absolutely astonishing.

I got a tattoo here 2 years ago.. Fairly large and was very cheap (but..you pay for what you get) its already extremely faded and has turned completely blue. The writing was not straight, letters were messy and i will never get a tattoo here again.

Just got both my nipples pierced and she was great! Answered all my questions and after she pierced the second one, which i moved on, i told her i was concerned it was to close to the top of my nipple and she said she will repierce it for free whenever i want! I thought that was great and when i called her today to get it repierced she kept her word and will be repiercing it for free! She also pierced my husbands penis, jacobs ladder,he got 3 piercings and was very professional about it. Definitley will be going back for any other piercings i may get!

Harrison was very nice, however I scarred really bad. There is extreme discoloration and he went so deep that he hit the fat deposit. So now the ink is migrating and it just doesn’t look that good.

Worse than an apprentice tattooing me followed line made by the stencil machine AMATEUR don’t waste your money or skin on this place

The piercer never asked if I would ever want a ring so she put it up too high for a ring... The stud itself was also too small, nice piercer and clean

Went there on June 16th,2018 to get a piercing and was told they don’t do piercings and their sign was a bit misleading. Then why does it say they do piercings? Lol. JS.
