Mad Ethels Tattoo & Body Piercing

It was my first and only time at this shop for some ink, very comfortable, i love this spot! Everyone was very nice and professional & i would definetly Recommend Mad Ethels. My tattoo artist JET was very responsive and easy to work with & Absolutely crushed it with my reaper tattoo. I will be returning to mad ethels for more work in the future.

My friend and I were in Raleigh for a concert and I wanted to get my first nose piercing, my friend her 3rd nose piercing. They were AWESOME!!we had Justin do our piercings and he was funny, attentive, and great about us making sure we liked the placing and rings we chose! Atmosphere of Mad Ethels was super cool as well! If ever in Raleigh again would def go back for another piercing or tattoo!

I got my nip piercings at this lovely place and Ashley was so wonderful and accommodating! She has such a warm demeanor that will instantly make you feel comfortable and is so kind and non-judgmental. She will walk you through exactly what shes doing when shes working so you know what to expect/feel. The piercing hurt a lot for me which was expected so I was a little tearful from the pain and she let me have all the time I need after the procedure. I didnt feel rushed at all and felt like I could sit there for as long as I needed to get myself re-oriented. I want to come back to get my ears and bellybutton done again :)

Ashley was our piercer (nose piercings) for my husband and I. She was very sweet, knowledgeable, and made us feel very comfortable in her care. She staff at the shop was also friendly, and the shop itself was very clean and pleasant.

Paul is a great artist! He listened to what I wanted, and tweaked it of course to what would look best! Had a great time being tattooed by Paul over three sessions, all while talking and watching some great tv. Great way to block out the discomfort of being tattooed. I had an appointment to get a triple helix done. Something Ive been wanting for a long time. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. Ashley was great at helping me pick out jewelry. She went over how to care for my piercing and went over any questions i had. We chatted the whole time she was piercing me which helped. The placement of the piercing was perfect. I wear glasses and she made sure my glasses wouldnt bump my peircing. Im excited to go back for more work.

Ember has been amazing. Starting with my consultation where she excitedly threw out additional ideas for the piece I wanted. Throughout every session shes been kind and thoughtful, and of course has done ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL work. I get so many compliments and we arent ever done yet.Ive also had the pleasure of getting to chat with the other artists in the shop. Everyone is very welcoming and has a down to earth feel.I love Mad Ethels and highly recommend people check them out when on the hunt for a new artist.

I got my grim reaper done by Jet and let me just say I’m extremely satisfied with how it came out. It was my first tattoo and everything turned out perfect. I highly recommend this place.

I love Mad Ethels! Erika is wonderful with scheduling and a great person for your first contact. Ive been tattooed by Clinton and love his work. Bradde has been very accommodating with my little girls ear piercing. Its a very clean establishment with a friendly but classic tattoo shop atmosphere.

I brought my two teen daughters (16 & 18) for second piercings to the Glenwood Avenue location. The vibe was very cool, comfortable and clean. It was well maintained, every step of the process was well explained, and their piercer Ashley was very personable and put us all at ease. It was a relatively quick and easy process without feeling rushed. I would highly recommend for all ages considering a piercing and both daughters said it was far more comfortable than they remember their initial piercings done with a piercing gun at the Dr’s office being.

Bradde is fricken awesome. He is super professional is area was very clean and organized and made the whole process as painless as a piercing can be and walks you through the process the entire time. Already scheduling my next appointment with him.

Recently worked with Paul on a memorial tattoo to honor my mom and my sister. Did a consult and told Paul what I was thinking and he came up with an awesome design that included the elements I wanted. He did a fantastic job and I couldnt be more pleased with the finished tattoo - its absolutely beautiful. Its a great place, great location and great artists that I highly recommend!

Amazing experience! All of the staff and artists are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They are so knowledgeable and make you feel comfortable (which is obviously so important when getting a tattoo!). Clinton did my tattoo and he was awesome! He really listened to what I wanted and offered great suggestions when I wasnt sure about something. He custom designed my tattoo and it is exactly what I wanted! He also is amazing with colors! I had a great experience here, the staff was very nice and the shop was clean and comfortable. My guy Marian Sagath was very helpful and patient with me throughout the whole process. I was unsure of what I wanted and Marian took time out of his schedule leading up to my appointment to brainstorm and come up with exactly what I envisioned. Paul Black did portraits of both my dogs that passed away back in 2015. I could not be happier with how they turned out. The entire staff at awesome and the place is super clean. They do a great job working with you. Highly recommend.

After months of searching, I finally settled on Mad Ethels for my first tattoo, and I could not be more impressed. This is the real deal. The shop owner, Mike, is the nicest guy in the world, and made me feel right at home from the very first phone call. My piece is small and simple, and they were able to fit me in the next week. The shop itself is incredibly clean and has a nice little lounge area for waiting guests. My artist, Ember, did a fantastic job on my final piece (a date in roman numerals) and I left the shop with crisp, clean lines. The aftercare provided and suggested is top tier and everyone at the shop was very dedicated to making sure I was happy with my piece. Mike even hugged me before I left the shop, and gave me a goodie bag with some stickers, a business card, and a detailed description of what I needed to do to take care of the new ink. A week later, I received a letter in the mail reminding me to keep unscented lotion on the tattoo and thanking me AGAIN for choosing Mad Ethels. For the quality of work, Mad Ethels is very reasonably priced. You get so much more for your money here than you would anywhere else. I would recommend Mad Ethels to ANYBODY looking for some new ink.

I loved my experience at this place! My husband got his first love piercings and I got a stacked piercing on one ear with regular two love pierces on the other side. We both had Justin - he is awesome! Very friendly, down-to-earth, and knowledgeable the entire time. Everyone in the shop was very nice and comforting to share their piercings and tatts. They have a nice selection of jewelry (more in the case in the back). Definitely recommend! Ill be going back for another piercing soon in the cartilage with my cousin for a nose piercing (and she was the one that recommended me to this shop).

Kind staff and very skillful piercing job. My sister has tiny ears and they did a wonderful job putting a daith in and closing the challenging earring. The staff is also very respectful and knowledgeable. As we sat and waited, I heard them interact with many customers and even a homeless individual and they treated everyone with clear communication, understanding, and respect. Highly recommend.

I had my consult. And made an appt for my first tattoo. I was told he didnt want to do another butterfly, but agreed to anyway after he had suggested a female artist, but she didnt have availability until June. I just hope my tattoo doesnt reflect his not wanting to do another butterfly. Its a memorial tat to my Mom who loved them. Other than that it was a good meeting and other family members had tattoos there. If his work is good I have 3 more I want to get. Not butterflies.

My family and I recently visited Jamie, from Mad Ethel, and had an unbelievable experience! We had a couple first timers and she was super patient and gave great advice throughout the entire process! Everyone at the studio was very kind and we had a 10/10 experience!

I waited 20 years before finally getting my first tattoo, and I absolutely like the result! Steve did my tattoo, he was recommended by my manager, and I have nothing but the best to say about him and his staff. Their shop / studio / work stations are super clean, and the studios atmosphere and layout flows nicely, so you will feel at ease and relaxed when you are laying on the chair! I already have my next appointment scheduled!

Had a 9 am consult this morning and showed up to a locked door. Waited for 20 minutes and nothing. Definitely not the way to start a business relationship. I’m pretty upset, I had researched this business and artist for months and was really excited.

I do not hand out five stars lightly, and these stars are specific to the artist I collaborate for my ink. Let’s talk about Mad Ethel’s @mad_ethels first though. I prefer the Glenwood location, because it’s the only location I’ve been to. This is a very clean shop with some cool decor (wish the popcorn machine was always operable). I can tell the owner and people working there take pride in their crafts. It is also a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. They are sticklers for rules- best to follow along… overall, I would highly recommend anyone with ink or piercing needs to check this place out. This has been the only repeat business for ink that I have ever used and for great reason! Jet…Jet (@triadtatoos) is great at what he does. A methodical and precise conductor of skin stabbing equipment. You walk away feeling great about the work he has accomplished, knowing the skin will heal nicely. (Always follow aftercare instructions from your artist, they know what they are doing).Check out Jets portfolio (either on Mad Ethel’s website or his instagram (@triadtattoos). Fine lines, black & grey, what ever your needs, he will expertly apply your ideas. I feel Jet puts more effort into his work than most knowing his brand is what you’re wearing. And there is always great banter in ‘the office’ while there too.

This is my first tattoo. My artist was Marian Sagath. I myself, deal with people for a living, let me tell you, Marian has some of the best customer service and attention to detail I have seen. He will tell you what he thinks would look good, which will guide you in the right direction. What started as a consultation(He created the drawing the same day with my input of what i wanted) turned into an awesome tattoo. Hands down this will be my artist going forward. Even during the tattoo, he made sure I wasnt in to much pain or uncomfortable. Hes newer to the Raleigh area so, I would definitely get on his schedule sometime soon because he will be booked up. I had 2 people actually come in while I was getting tattooed. THey saw him working on my peice and wanted him to do their pieces too. I had my latest tattoo done by Clinton last week and it was everything I could have hoped for. Hes an amazing artist and lovely person. I also brought my 7 year old in for her ear piercing with Bradde and he was so kind and gentle. I highly recommend this business and I will be back!

Just got a tattoo from Jamie and she was great! Communicated before the tattoo and updated me with the designs. I like the way she does her schedule with the reminder texts. Before the tattoo it was seamless and easier from previous tattoo appointments. Love the design she came up with and finish product was great and I look forward to the next session!!

This is my second time at Mad Ethels but my first experience with Paul Black and I cant say enough good things about both the business and the artist. Their new shop is really nice, clean, open and comfortable. The staff was very friendly upon check in as well. Finally! A tattoo parlor with a little bit of feminine flair! This was my first visit. I went in for a piercing. I had a budget and they helped me stay within my budget! The artist explained everything to me, walked me thru the process and it was over as quick as it had started! I would most definitely recommend.

Great experience. Got a lot done in 2.5 hrs. Artists are usually booked up so you need to call ahead and pay $80 down to book appointment. Definitely recommend; however, make sure you book one of the 3 artists on their site. The guest artists typically arent on the same level

I went for my initial consultation and the first laser removal session with Sarahanne today and was blown away by her professionalism, knowledge, and relatability. The laser session was less painful than any treatment I have received previously; she provided a cold air blower, which was extremely helpful as she progressed across the tattoo. Her office is pristine and extremely clean. She addresses the ink itself and the ink blowout found around the tattoo- all delivered with extreme precision. When I mentioned I was a healthcare student, she worked with me on price. It was not just competitive in the market but was well below it. As someone living on a tight budget, her taking this into consideration was thoughtful and put me at ease because she cared. I will be her return client until she fires me, and I look forward to my next session with her. I could go on and on about how pleasant the entire experience was, and I look forward to updating this comment with photos when my removal is complete.

My artist was Ember. I had wonderful experience. She was very patience and kind with me. She took her time with me and listen to what I wanted. I would most definitely recommend others to come see her. And my new experience of mad ethel tatto. 3/17, I got a new personal piercing, His piercer name is Justin. I like to add he was very knowledgeable and read my mind in what I was wanting. He was very professional and patience with me the whole step. I would strongly recommend others to get him if youre interested in piercing.

My wife brought my daughter to this shop to get a helix piercing, and they both had a great experience!Justin was so nice and really laid back. He explained what he was doing from start to finish and actually had a conversation with them instead of just piercing her ear and then sending them on their way. He was really down to Earth and explained the piercing after care and what may or may not happen during the healing process in great detail. We will definitely be back soon for more piercings and possibly a tattoo for my wife.

I had 4 sessions with Paul, one of the most informative and detail oriented artists I worked with. It was easy to trust his judgement and he has a light hand; tattoos hurt, but he ensures you are comfy and will work with you if you need a minute. If you want a piece that you will be proud of forever I highly recommend giving them a shot and you’ll be satisfied.

Justin was awesome!! I got two ear piercings (one in each ear) on a Saturday morning. There was a little bit of a wait, but it was super easy to check in and walk around Glenwood while I waited. They text you when you’re up next. Clean, bright, and edgy. I’m definitely going back.

Had a wonderful experience with Ashley for my first piercings, went for both lobes. Very prompt, clean, professional, and friendly. All the staff made sure I was comfortable and that I knew what to expect. They have a great selection of piercing jewelry, and offered suggestions upon request. They even made sure I liked the piercing location before completing the piercings! No guns used, at least not for lobes. Walked out very happy with thorough aftercare instructions and two really awesome ear studs. 10/10, will only come here for piercings and jewelry.

My dogs were playing and accidentally ripped out my nose piercing. I went there on Saturday night at 7 o’clock as a walk-in and they took care of me so lovely..The place is super cool, and the art is cool and I would recommend and will be returning.

Had my ears pierced here about a month ago. The customer service was great. The person who did my piercing was very nice and patient with me. They clearly knew what they were doing and also offered great professional advice on the the kind of jewelry materials that should be used for new piercing and advice on how to take care of my new piercing.My piercing is healing very nicely now. They also had a wide variety of jewelries for me to choose from. Im very happy with my piercing, the earrings I got, and the service here. Highly recommended

Always a wonderful experience here. Bradde pierced my nostril my first visit. Absolutely hilarious and answered all of my million questions. My second visit, Ashley pierced my third hole on my lobes. She did amazing! I was anxious when I walked in, but she is so easy going and personable that I relaxed with just a conversation. She lined up my piercings not only with the previous ones, but with the natural shape of my ears. Forever a client here!

Ashley did a double flat and I loved it so much I came back 2 weeks later for a faux rook and they look amazing! I’d heard that these particular piercings are known for being a little higher on the pain scale but with Ashley, it just felt like a pinch. On a separate visit, Justin did a forward helix that also turned out amazing. Ashley and Justin both educated me on everything about aftercare and made sure I understood every step of the piercing process itself. Ashley and Justin make you feel so comfortable and manage to make the process of getting a needle shoved through your skin enjoyable. My boyfriend and I had piercings done yesterday by Brad. I have had a few myself and am very seasoned to the experience (or so I thought). Brad was absolutely amazing. The most personable person who you can tell is a good human as well as loves his job. He took his time out to let us pick out the perfect jewelry and gave professional advice on what would look better for each piercing. The piercing itself was almost painless I have had many and will never let anyone else stab me from now on. My boyfriend and I both went on about our days with no soreness. I will attest to the piercer because that has never been my experience prior. Brad is a true gem. He used sterile practice, beautiful selection of jewelry, with an easy environment. I have a tattoo on my forearm that experienced blowout near the ditch. Sarahanne, the laser tattoo specialist, was able to target this blowout through laser removal. She walked me through the entire process, discussed aftercare, and the discomfort was mild. Pricing was also competitive to other providers. I highly recommend Sarahanne and Mad Ethel’s for tattoo removal!

I was really impressed with my visit today. First was the fact that they were even open on a Sunday and willing to accommodate a walk-in. The Receptionist was friendly and professional. Facilities were clean. Justin, the piercer, was AWESOME! He was professional, sanitary, and knowledgeable. I was nervous about a nose piercing but he was patient and answered all of my questions. He made sure the placement was good and the piercing itself was over in moments. This is my 9th piercing and hes the best Ive had. If I ever decide to do another piercing, I would definitely go back to him!Update: A week after my nose piecing and Ive felt no pain. Its healing nicely, and it hasnt been tender at all. Still singing Justins praises!

I have been here a couple times and its always a great experience. Everyone is professional and helpful. Today I went to get 3 piercings done by Bradde. He is an amazing piercer and an equally amazing human! He puts you at ease during what can be a stressful experience. Hes patient and very helpful with picking out placement and jewelry. I have had several piercings at different locations and I dont want to go anywhere else for piercings from now on. Can’t say enough great things about this shop. Paul did my re-work/cover up from another shop that was about 8 years old. After my less than ideal experience with that shop, this was light years away from that. Shop was very clean and we talked extensively before the tattoo even started. Paul also took the time to make sure the placement was just how I wanted it even after several different tries. He was very patient and very detailed. Would definitely come back and get another tattoo from him again!

Really enjoyed entire experience with this shop! My hair stylist recommended Chris Peck and she didnt steer me wrong. Mike was most helpful with booking and was very responsive to emails, as well discussing design and helping me find the shop. Chris was very accommodating in making sure that the design was exactly what I wanted, as well as taking care in size and placement. I enjoyed our ongoing conversation, his music knowledge, and the fact that he was very light handed during the tattooing process. My piece turned out better than I imagined, which says something for giving artists some artistic liberties. Ill definitely be back for more, and am telling all my friends about this place! Side note - the shop is moving to Person Street soon which is also very exciting!

Bradde is the absolute best! I went in to get two cheek dermals and was literally shaking, I was so nervous! He helped me pick my jewelry and my placement. He talked me through everything and made me feel so calm. We clicked instantly and in no time I was done! He is such a genuine, kind-hearted soul; seriously the best piercer I’ve ever met! Clinton is amazing! I feel like he has an even higher standard of his work than his clients do; very professional and extreme quality. My tattoo turned out better than I had imagined. I highly recommend these artists, even if you have a bit of a wait.

Im new to the area, and came to Mad Ethels for my first piercing (navel). the whole experience from start to finish was overwhelmingly positive! The staff at the front desk was super polite, sweet, and personable to talk to while I waited. Bradde (my piercer) was extremely knowledgeable about the entire process, from picking out jewelry, to aftercare. It was clear that he was also very experienced as the piercing process barely even hurt or bled. I love the vibes in the shop itself, and everything is super sterile and clean. will definitely be coming back for piercings and tattoos in the future!

They were able to squeeze three of us in for piercings at the last minute. Bradde was really nice and a great piercer. I got my first tattoo today with Jamie! I wouldn’t trade my experience for the world. She was so kind and very personable. She almost made me forget I was getting a tattoo. Great sense of humor as well. I already scheduled my next appointment with her and I can’t wait!! She also made great eye contact 👍🏼Update: Mad Ethel’s is just FULL of talent. Did you know that Jamie is not only a great tattoo artist, but a singer as well?? Her singing during my appointment was music to my ears. She also introduced me to carrot cards. 10/10 will be coming back again.

Jared was great. The young lady at the front desk was very incompetent. I brought my 15 yr old daughter in for her birthday to get an industrial piercing. The lady seemed to be unable to grasp the concept that my daughter and I could have different last names as I have remarried. This was AFTER we presented her with military IDs for myself and my daughter. After going back and forth with her, Jared came out and shut down her argument. Im not saying she was being bias because she did not give any other customers any issues checking in. We waited for almost 3 hours, watched everyone come and go and we were the last customers serviced and also the only people of color over the 3 hours we waited. Im not gonna say she had some macro and micro aggressions but if it walks like duck and talks like a duck....Jared was fantastic!

I’ve had two tattoos done here. One previously with Ember (she’s awesome!) and one with Chris (also awesome!) last night. My experience here both times was exceptional and so much better than any other place I’ve been. The staff treats everyone like family and they seem to genuinely love what they do.I highly recommend this place! They will treat you right regardless of whether you’re new to piercings and tattoos or a collector. I know I’ll be back should I decide to finally get my nipples pierced. Haha

Ashley was great! Her positive attitude made my daughter’s birthday piercing feel like an extra celebration. She helped my indecisive teenager decide on the right jewelry for her rook piercing and my tragus was quick and painless! Clean, friendly and very professional, we will be back for piercings!

Bradde did my nose piercing and he was so great! He made me feel so comfortable and made me feel really relaxed before my first piercing. His personality was great and you can tell he enjoys his job. I have to cover up the piercing for my job and he recommended which piercing to get to cover it up and instructions on how to care for it and switch the piercing since I came from out of town. Im so happy I got my piercing here and it came out wonderfully. I would recommend getting pierced here.

Me and my friend had a great experience from the initial phone call to the moment we walked in. They were fairly busy but made sure me and my friend were very comfortable while waiting and were comfortable and understood the process. I was contemplating getting my nose pierced for 3 years now and I’m happy I chose the perfect place to do so & now have a place to I feel comfortable getting tattoos and piercings in the area. Lily is absolutely amazing. She is everything I was looking for in a piercing artist. She is incredibly knowledgeable, clean, and professional while helping you feel comfortable with body modification. I watched her sanitize the equipment before hand which really helped to put me at ease. She took her time to answer all my questions (and I had a lot). Everything went very well, probably better than what I had built up in my mind. And I absolutely love my piercings. I am still going through the healing process but I don’t anticipate any problems with proper home care. If you are considering body piercings, Lily is where to go!

Stopped in to get my ear pierced last week. The wait was minimal, but apparently that is rare. Bradde was my piercer. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Truly wonderful experience for our daughter who was nervous about getting her ears pierced for the first time. Mr. Bradde was awesome and she still talks about how cool he was. We will definitely be back and highly recommend to any other parents who might be just as nervous as their kids.

Great experience for our daughter who had a cartilage piercing and a nervous mother who can’t stand needles. The sign in process is quick but thorough and the pricing is very reasonable. I highly recommend and will definitely be back for the next piercing or tattoo.

Decided to get my nipples pierced last minute and I was greeted by a super friendly woman at the door. A little busy on a Saturday afternoon but that was totally expected. Piercer Justin was very apologetic about the wait and was super kind and knowledgeable during the process. He made the whole experience comfortable and fun!

Lilith pierced my helix and I am so happy with it!! She was so sweet and so fun to talk to, and that was the most effortless piercing Ive gotten. I was worried to get a cartilage piercing, but she made it a great experience! My best friend got a piercing from her last year and she has been hyping her up ever since, for good reason!! Mike the shop manager is nothing BUT professional. We maintained communication all the way up until my appointment date which was booked almost four months out. Popular places and artists get busy quickly, and I can see why now. Mike assured me I wouldnt leave without something I liked and he was one hundred percent correct. I am in love! This was my first tattoo and a wonderful experience. Paul the artist is just as professional and highly skilled in his work. I am beyond excited to have my first piece done by such a talented artist. Paul Black is a phenomenal tattoo artist. I am thrilled with a full sleeve tattoo that he did for me. The atmosphere and staff are also extremely fun, friendly and accommodating. I got my septum done here yesterday and I have never had such a pleasant experience. The shop has a great vibe, is super clean, had friendly staff, and excellent music. Bradde talked me through everything from picking my jewelry to aftercare and made the whole experience fun (and quick, I was in and out in 20 minutes)! They’re a bit on the pricey side, but it’s definitely worth it for the quality of the jewelry, piercing, and experience. I recommended them to several friends and will definitely be returning for all my piercings and tattoos in future!!Edit: I thought I’d update on my septum for anyone considering this shop for theirs. It’s been a month since I got mine done and it healed amazing!! I had some pain the first few days because the bigger jewelry got caught on a few things, but it hasn’t gotten infected or even the slightest bit irritated. I was able to change to smaller jewelry two weeks after getting it done with minimal pain and have still had no issues. This is officially my new favorite piercing place!!

I trust Bradd and Justin (the piercers) so completely that Ive brought four of my friends along with me to get pierced. They are some of the most gracious and educated professionals Ive ever met, period. They will NOT rush you, and theyll let you know, even at their own expense, if your anatomy isnt right for a piercing. This is my shop of choice.

I went to Mad Ethels for my first significant tattoo. I was commemorating a life-changing incident and I needed it to be perfect. These folks took the time to really understand what I wanted, they included me in the creation process, they made sure I was perfectly happy with their plan, and they made sure I was as physically and emotionally comfortable as possible before they ever started the procedure. My artist was visiting from overseas and he was truly a master. He had other clients after me but he never rushed his work and he didnt overlook a single detail. My tattoo took about two hours to complete, and I was taken great care of the whole time. Needless to say, the piece came our exactly how I pictured, and I absolutely love it. Mad Ethels isnt the cheapest tattoo parlor in tow, and theres a damn good reason for it.

Lily did a fantastic job on my second lobe piercing. They were able to book me an appointment two days after I called. Lily was so professional and did such a great job at making me feel comfortable. She was very gentle and quick. My ears were pierced in no time and with minimal pain! I highly recommend her and this shop!

Lilly pierced my daughters ears for her 7th birthday. All of the staff was fantastic and did their best to put us all at ease. Lilly explained everything she was going to do before starting to make sure my daughter was comfortable and calm. Lilly has a fantastic collection of jewelry perfect for younger girls. She is very thorough in her explanation of after care and in going on 5 months we have had no issues. My daughter was thrilled to receive a card from Lilly a few days later thanking us for coming to see her and reminding her to take care of her new piercings. I cannot say enough good things about our experience, Lilly and the staff at Mad Ethels. I would without hesitation highly recommend them.

We chose to wait until our two girls were old enough to ask to get their ears pierced. My wife called and scheduled an appointment with Bradde. When Bradde met the girls in person, he did an outstanding job of keeping them excited and comfortable to move forward! The entire process went as good as we could have imagined. I LOVE Mad Ethel’s! Justin is so so so amazing. He spent almost an hour just picking out jewelry with my friend and I, letting us try stuff out, and changing our jewelry for us. I’ve watched him pierce a couple of my friends and he does such an amazing job walking everyone through the process and giving his honest, helpful input. Aside from being great at his job, he’s a super kind guy and fun to talk to!UPDATE: The ball to my septum ring fell off right after I got it replaced, but Bradde told me thatI would be able to pop in before the shop fully opened so that I could make it to my flight on time. It was super quick and easy and I really really appreciate everyone’s willingness to make customers happy! Even though I was bummed that it fell off at all, this honestly just made me appreciate how kind everyone is even more!

I first came here for my first tattoo and Clinton and the whole crew made my experience a beautiful one. I had searched locally online and thought they had my ideal art styles and love the atmosphere! My second time coming I wasn’t sure on what I wanted and Justin had a wonderful consolation with me about the most practical and esthetic choices and helped me through the nerves. I received a beautiful conch piercing with zero pain and lots of laugh. I cannot recommend this place more, especially for firsts!

I was in Raleigh for a day with a friend and decided to get a tattoo so we went into Mad Ethels. This was my first tattoo experience and I loved it!! The receptionist and my artist was so sweet and welcoming to my random walk-in request and made my experience great. I had my first appointment at Mad Ethels with Candice this past weekend - she is a fantastic artist with a great attention to detail, and she made me extremely comfortable with my first tattoo experience! I am very pleased with the jellyfish design she developed for me, I love it already just in outline form and cant wait to get back in to keep working on what I know will end up being an amazing piece. The shop was great in general, with a relaxed vibe, and I would definitely recommend it.

I love this shop. My new piercer resides here; shes fun and easy to talk to. Ive had a tattoo touched up here as well as a large thigh piece done. There are several tattoo artists with different specialities, so you can get pretty much anything done here. The artists are so talented and friendly, I dont mind that they have a pretty long wait list. Theyre careful about cleaning equipment. Even though Im not here more than once or twice a year, the staff remembers me. I really dont know what else I could ask for.

I always loved the look of nose piercing and my main concern was finding a very experienced piercer in a professional and sanitary establishment. After a week of using search engines and reading reviews I decided to put my trust in the beautiful young lady named Lilly at Mad Ethels Tattoo and Piercing. She was very friendly and informative when I called and I was able to come as a walk-in the same night. When my daughter and I arrived, the staff was friendly and Lilly explained every detail from handling the cost to the actual nose piercing procedure and aftercare. She took the time to fully sanitize the piercing tools to picking out the nose jewelry. Lilly made us feel so welcomed and chatted with us like we were family as she proceeded with the piercing. Lilly counted 1, 2 and by the time she said 3 the hollow needle had already pierced through my nose. Did not hurt bad at all. Only like someone pinching your nose with their fingernail. I was given a aftercare bag with instructions and was able to purchase the H2O Ocean saline piercing aftercare solution. I will be coming back to have Lilly pierce the other side of my nose this week and have the septum piercing when my daughter gets a break from college to have Lilly also pierce her nose. I highly recommend Mad Ethels for all piercings and tattoos.

Truly the best decision I could have made.I went to 4 different shops initially. Met with different artists, but it was a real easy choice after walking into Mad Ethels. Candice was my artist, and after sitting with her 4 sessions I can say she is incredibly talented. For my first tattoo Candice had half my back to work with. Roughly 16 hours later, I wouldnt have it any other way.The shop is full of friendly and talented artists. Its a lovely place. Just plan it out in advance and save a day off as their schedules book up very quickly. And although they may say 6 months when you first make your appointment, chances are that youll get in here and there through cancellations.Without a doubt, one of the best experiences of my life.

The staff at the front desk and Bradde doing piercings in the back were both absolutely phenomenal. It was my first time getting a piercing but my sisters has gotten plenty. She said it was the most pleasant piercing experience she has had and I was thoroughly pleased as well! Ember did an amazing job on my first tattoo. She listened to my ideas and I showed her some photos of what I was interested in. After the consultation, she was able to custom design a tattoo that was so much better than anything Id shown her. Ember was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Mad Ethels is amazing. I started my 7th tattoo there recently, and everyone was great. From scheduling to the atmosphere to the artwork, I was very pleased. My tattoo artist is Candice and she is amazing. Her lines and attention to detail are incredible. The other artists were friendly and joked with me as the work was being done, and I felt very welcome and comfortable, which is not the case at all parlors. I would recommend Mad Ethels, and Candice specifically, to anyone. I am very excited to get back in the shop and have more work done on this piece.

Good luck getting anyone to pay attention to you or getting work done in your lifetime!I contacted Mad Ethels because I saw so many great ratings on their work. While their work may be impressive once you finally have it done, the customer experience is terrible. After what seemed like a good start via e-mail, their scheduler started to cop a lot of attitude because I chose to pick up the phone and eliminate the back-and-forth and try to work out a time to come in sooner. These were tattoos for 3 people, so 3 people who would have had a great customer experience!Mad Ethels Management - do yourself a favor and get someone who can pay attention to details, speak to the public to work with them, and that cares to provide a great customer experience! Its really not that hard to do! We were extremely flexible, but gave up after the attitude came out!There are a lot of good shops in Raleigh now, so plenty of choices in finding a shop that will work with you when considering something permanent on your body.

Everyone here is so friendly & knowledgeable. I came in to just change out existing jewelry but ended up getting my other nostril pierced. Bradde was super nice about helping to choose out jewelry. Justin pierced my nose & was super patient with me when deciding the placement & switching out different jewelry. I was also able to just walk-in & waited about 15 minutes which was not bad, especially on a weekend.

As a person who has only ever had the standard ear lobe pierces from my childhood, I was pierced here by Ashley and then again by Bradde the next day. Both were extremely knowledgeable and easy to talk to. This is the exact kind of place people mean when they insist that getting pierced at a tattoo parlor or other professional establishment is a fundamentally different experience than going to a random place with a piercing gun at the mall. In love with how my piercings turned out, and immensely impressed with how clean, professional, and well-informed everyone was.Also: In the waiting room I had the pleasure of watching how gently and professionally Bradde interacted with a parent with a young child who wanted ear piercings. If I ever have kids that want piercings, I hope Bradde is still practicing, because hes the exact kind of person Id trust to help my kiddos make an informed, safe decision about their first body modification.

I got my first piercing (besides earlobes) here a few weeks ago, and my experience was great. Bradde, the piercing specialist, was very knowledgeable. I’ve followed up a few times with questions since I’m not super experienced with piercings *yet*, and he’s always happy to address any concerns I have. After reading these amazing reviews, I took my 6 year old daughter to Mad Ethel’s to get her first ear piercings and I’m SO HAPPY I did! Bradde is a literal saint. He is so experienced, funny, patient, and cool. Honestly, he could have been a 1st grade teacher! My daughter wasn’t too nervous as she didn’t really know what the piercing would entail, but Bradde made sure to talk to her and crack some silly jokes to keep her distracted enough to not freak out that a needle was going through her ear. To this day, my daughter still laughs about “Silly Mr. Bradde’s” jokes including the most popular one-liner that I hear at least once a week, “Don’t worry, I’ll be done before you have enough time to say, ‘Mr. Bradde, I hate you!’When the piercing was done, my daughter got to ring the “first timers” bell and got high-fives from all of the tattoo and piercing artists working that day who were all impressed that she didn’t even shed a tear! Bradde then gave us a little instruction packet on how to keep her piercings from getting infected and asked us to keep in touch (which we did a few weeks later when we had to take my daughter’s earrings out for her first soccer game, lost them in the grass, and had to go back up for help getting some new studs back in the next day 🤦🏼‍♀️. But again, Bradde was super kind and helpful!)Bottom line, if you need a piercing done, please go see Bradde, he’s awesome.(BTW: If you’re taking your child DON’T FORGET THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE!!! Learned that the hard way…lol)

I tried to change out my initial nose stud piercing at home and just could not remove it. Looked on line for a shop with great reviews and found Mad Ethels Tattoo & Body Piercing to have the best ones. I was a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon so I had to wait a bit. However, it was so worth the wait! Lilly was awesome and very gentle with my piercing. She explained how I had irritated the area quite a bit with trying to remove the stud on my own. Turns out my stud had a screw capsule so I was trying to remove it inproperly. My piercing was done in another state and the technician did not explain to me beforehand what type of stud was being used. The staff was very friendly and organized. The space very clean and Lilly was the bomb! I highly recommend Mad Ethels and Lilly if you are looking for a great place to go for nose piercing!

I have had my septum pierced before but the jewelry didnt fit and he explained to me what might have happened without bashing the other piercer. (My first time piercing my septum was not at this location). He made sure my piercing was perfect 😊.

Ashley provided me the best piercing experience Ive had yet! She is delightful, easy to talk to, makes you feel comfortable immediately and kept her mask on the entire time we were in close proximity. I went in to amend a pierced area that was botched by a piercer elsewhere many moons ago and she has completely remedied the situation, and I feel confident that Ill be able to trust her for selfcare moving forward. I discovered Mad Ethels via google search when I was looking for another piercer when my old place was shut down- R.I.P Blue Flame.I spoke with Erika at the front desk who is the sweetest most friendly receptionist who directed me to Bradde for my piercings. Bradde is super friendly, extremely professional, and his decades of experience speaks volumes.Walking in the shop is very clean and welcoming. I was greeted immediately and filled out some paperwork and was brought to the back for the procedure. Bradde was extremely patient and answered all my questions his expertise and sense of humor put me at ease. The piercing process was really quick and not nearly as bad as anticipated. After Bradde made sure to go over additional aftercare instructions and informed me to call him if I had any questions (which I did-super helpful) and even told me to follow up in a month to check on the healing progress. I got my third lobe piercing done today by Lilly (third overall, first from Lilly) and it was such a pleasant experience! Ive been to another well-rated shop downtown where it felt very impersonal and almost rushed. Lilly was not only super friendly but really took her time with the placement and the piercing itself, and talked to me through the whole process. She also had more jewelry to choose from than Ive ever seen elsewhere, and gave me a water bottle afterwards since it was warm and I was walking home. I would definitely recommend her, and wont be going anywhere else for any future piercings I decide to get!

Great experience with Jet at Mad Ethels. This was my first tattoo and the experience was awesome. He was super quick, professional, creative in his design with what I wanted and super reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

Bradde is the best piercer ever. I got my septum pierced recently and I was terrified, as I had a nostril piercing years ago that was super painful. However, I was shocked at how near painless this septum piercing was. He was not exaggerating when he said it would take a second to pierce. I barely felt it. And after a week I’ve had literally no soreness, swelling, or any adverse or even normal reactions. I’m still shocked how well everything went. Bradde is very cool, professional, and knows what he’s doing. I can’t imagine using anyone else. Amazing service all around!!

From start to finish my experience with Mad Ethels was outstanding. Ember answered the phone when I called and she was pleasant and knowledgeable. To be honest, I had spoken with several shops and was surprised at the rudeness I encountered at some of them. Ember could not have been better.Candice did my tattoo and I couldnt be happier. It looks beautiful and when I walk around I notice people checking it out which is awesome.The shop is clean and the atmosphere is great. This was my first tattoo in 20 years and I was a little apprehensive going in but everyone at Mad Ethels was great and I cant wait to go back.

I went today to get help with my hoop noise piercing that always seems to stay irritated. I saw Brad he was amazing he drew a demonstration and explained why I was experiencing the issue. He gently told me why I shouldnt get a hoop (I was disappointed 😥 but greatful). He showed me the best jewelry for me and gave me a plan of action. Ill see him again in a week for him to check my progress. He was knowledgeable and most of all patient. If youre looking for a great piercier go see him youll be in great hands!

I am from out of town, I came to this shop because I wanted to get my nose piercing back and saw that this place had high reviews. From the front desk receptionist Kayla to my piercer Justin, everyone was so friendly and welcoming! The best part was I wasn’t rushed. I was able to ask my questions about the jewelry types and felt comfortable the entire time I was there. I have paid for cheaper nose piercings and the quality of service and jewelry was definitely not the same. Thank you all for a wonderful experience!!

Bradde did an amazing job with my daughters ear piercing. He made her feel at ease with her piercing. Also being a hospital worker I was impressed with his sterile technique, he can teach a class on it!!! I would highly recommend you take your kids there for their first ear piercings

Everyone here was great - came in to pierce my daughters ears for the second time (her first time, somewhere else, got infected). Staff was super knowledgeable and great with her. Her earrings look great and she has had no problems with them! Yay!

Mad Ethels is an excellent choice for all piercing needs. Ive gotten 2 industrials from Bradd and they both healed perfectly in very little time. I havent gotten any tattoos here yet but I plan to in the future as they only do custom work.

I randomly decided on a day off I was going to get a few things pierced and after some research I thankfully landed on Mad Ethels. I called that day to get some information about the pricing and the procedure. Lilly who does the piercing was able to answer all of my questions and wasnt pushy or rushing me through the conversation. I felt like my time mattered and it was important to her that I had all the information. I came in the next day and I got a few body piercings and she was very friendly informative and she cleaned everything properly. She went at a pace that made me feel comfortable and let me know everything I need to know for cleaning and future maintenance as well as options for gauging. All in all it was an incredibly amazing experience and Im glad I picked mad Ethels.

Had a great experience at Mad Ethels. I did not have an appointment, but they happily squeezed me in one afternoon and treated me with the utmost professionalism. I had my second holes done on both ears, and they have healed better than any other piercings Ive had done at other places. Not to mention, the placement on each ear was perfect. Shoutout to Bradde!

This was my first time at Mad Ethels and my first time with artist Sean. Back story...I had heard about an artist named Sean from some friends who were previous clients of his and he came highly recommended. I found Sean working as a guest artist at Mad Ethels in Durham. I immediately reached out to book with him and plans were set. I arrived yesterday for my appointment and was welcomed into the studio by a staff member whom I later learned was the owner (Ember). She was very friendly, and very accommodating and made us feel welcome.Sean arrived at the studio for our appointment and as soon as he walked through the door, he immediately greeted us and spoke to us. His attitude was professional and he seemed excited to do the work for me. He sat down with me and we had a consultation about my ideas on the work I wanted done. He tossed out a few other ideas that went with what I was looking to have done. I ended up going with one of his ideas and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision.Sean took the time needed to do some sketches on my arm and then prepared the work area. His attention to maintaining a clean work environment was very evident.We decided that my piece would need to done in more than one session due to the size (sleeve) and we started the work on the first session.Hands down the best experience to date. Sean was friendly, professional as he started his art work and maintained a good conversation. He set a great mood in the studio and I was honestly the most relaxed I have ever been during a tattoo session.Sean’s art work was awesome. I give this studio (Mad Ethel’s) this owner(Ember), and artist (Sean) the best review! I’m excited to see the final piece and I will upload pictures of the end result. Super stoked with this experience!

I usually use the same piercer but this particular weekend I really wanted to get my daith done and my usual girl was not in. So I called around to several shops in Raleigh. I did not want to fight traffic in downtown Raleigh but out of all the piercers I talked to Lily seemed the most knowledgeable. And it was by far worth it. She did an amazing job and was super friendly! Its been a week and the piercing has healed really well!

Raleigh has a lot of artists to choose from; a blessing and a curse. Looking into every shop and going through the portfolios and reviews can be daunting. Lucky you, I put in HOURS of work when choosing a shop and artist. So please, allow me to be your cliff notes.A shop that is all custom, no flash is a good thing. Maybe you were hoping to point to a weird baby devil on the wall and walk out with it on your shoulder an hour later but I promise you that is not what you want. A tattoo is an investment and will be with you the rest of your life. Your choices determine whether your skin is a gallery or a bathroom stall wall.Anyway- Mad Ethel’s is a great location in downtown. There’s a lot for those with an aversion to parallel parking. The artists are professional and fun. It’s clean. It’s safe- which may sound odd but those following the saga of assault involving some well established shops and artists in Raleigh will know how important this is. If my daughters were 18 they’d totally have my blessing to go to Mad Ethel’s.I very much appreciated the advice that comes from their years of experience and was excited about the unique pieces drawn for me. I’ve gotten two tattoos so far from Paul Black. He’s gentle (means a lot when you’re letting someone stab you repeatedly), knowledgeable, kind, and so very talented!! The best mix for an artist is knowing their tools and handling them well but also having an ability for art itself. Shading, movement of lines, and all the stuff some people are just gifted with. Not me. I once drew my own tattoo. Please don’t. Unless drawing is like your job. Otherwise you will spend some years as a stall wall until a truly talented person fixes it for you. I recently got my nose pierced at mad ethels and it was a great experience. The staff members were all helpful and kind and the person who pierced my nose, Brad, was amazing. He walked me though the entire process and made sure the piercing was perfect.

I would post pictures of my piercings but im pretty sure Google would ban me 🤣 Had an absolutely fantastic time, i decided to get my piercings done on a whim, not only were they able to get me in on the same day but the receptionist was super nice and explained everything i would need before hand. I couldnt compare this place to a different place since it was my first piercings ever but Brandon the piercer was incredibly professional. I felt completely reassured through the entire process that it was a clean environment not only for my piercings but also covid safe. They have me checking in with them in a month to make sure everything is going well with them and that really reassured me. He was extremely gentle and quick during the actual piercing process and if I ever plan to get others ill definitely be coming back here.

While they have great reviews, I guess unless you want a sleeve or some extravagant tattoo, they simply don’t want your business. Some of us just enjoy small, intimate, or meaningful ones. Sorry it’s about the money and not the art.

Mad Ethels was great to me! I wanted to commemorate my anniversary of finishing chemo with some special ink on the anniversary day. Though somewhat late to the party, Mike and Cliff (visiting artist) accommodated my special request in a touching, personal way ♥ This is my 8th tattoo and my 4th tattoo shop - I likely wont go anywhere else after this. The shop was nice, laid back and all things made for a really good experience! My husband got his first tattoo here last fall and had a great experience as well. Thanks guys - awesome shop!

The. Best.Got my nose pierced here with a last minute appt and the experience exceeded my expectations by miles! The piercing artist was fantastic--super funny, friendly, and ensured I knew what to expect and how to care for my piercing. The receptionist was also delightful! Highly recommended!

Did my research before making an appointment with Bradde for an inner conch and 4th lobe piercing in my ear.Besides wearing a mask and gloves, and observing all safety protocols, Bradde couldn’t have been more professional or kinder.He explained in detail, everything from my choices of jewelry to how to care for my new piercings. I’m not good with needles, and the entire experience blew my mind with how careful, cautious, and painless it was. That’s not to say it didn’t hurt but the pain was momentary & did not last long. Even during the first week of healing, I experienced NONE of the painful throbbing or redness at the sites, as I have with piercings in the past done elsewhere.I’ll never go anywhere else for a piercing, and would highly recommend Bradde to anyone who’s considering one. So much thanks to Bradde and the team at Mad Ethel’s!

AMAZING experience. We had Chris Peck and he was awesome! I am 41 years old and it was my first tattoo. He was super professional and extremely clean, almost to the OCD level which is good! The shop has a welcoming atmosphere and all that worked there made us feel right at home. If I could rate it more stars, I would!!

I havent had the chance to meet Justin yet, but Ashley and Bradde are so incredibly wonderful. Ashley helped me monitor a septum piercing that was too tight (pierced somewhere else), and Bradde switched the jewelry out for me when there ended up being an issue. He was as gentle with it as he could be given the circumstances and I appreciate this shops help so so much. If I think of another piercing to get, Ill be back ❤

I found Mad Ethels when a friend recommended Steve to me, because he did a great job on her custom tattoo a while back. It turned out that his schedule was full, but Anton had some availability. I went for a consultation with him that night to discuss my design ideas, what would work, and what wouldnt. The shop is clean, lovely, and comfortable, and everyone I met was friendly.My favorite thing about Anton is his honesty. He is certainly an expert at what he does, and is not shy with his opinions. Knowing little about tattoos myself, I definitely needed some guidance as far as what would look best. The tattoo I ended up with is different than my original (vague) vision, but so much better.Since this was my first tattoo and its supposedly in a fairly sensitive area, I was a little nervous when I came back a few days later for my appointment. As soon as Anton and I started finalizing the design details, my nervousness was replaced with excitement. He kept tweaking it until it was just right, so that by the time I got into the chair, I knew it would be great. It also helped that he has a fun, outgoing personality.Though I have no previous experience, I think the actual tattooing process was as pleasant as getting a tattoo can be. Anton was professional as far as sterilization precautions and whatnot, but kept the mood light by chatting and cracking jokes with me. He was really meticulous and took his time, even though it was way past closing. I could tell he was taking care to make it as comfortable as possible for me.I would trust any of the artists at Mad Ethels with my next tattoo, and of course I highly recommend Anton. I am SO thrilled with my new tat!

Lilly pierced my ears. For me, it was a first time piercing. She took her time with me, used some dots drawn on my ears to show me where they would be, and would I like them there. She talked me through with breathing when she pierced. She used sterile single use needles, was great. She spent some time chatting with me to help me with my comfort level. And then she provided me with after care instructions. Do you want a piercing? Ask for Lilly.

I am the type who reads a zillion reviews before I buy or do just about ANYTHING, yet I rarely write reviews (trust me, the hypocrisy is not lost on me). Before getting a recent tattoo at Mad Ethels I did a lot of research and asked friends for recommendations. All signs pointed to Mad Ethels and I am glad they did. If you are looking for a true piece of art in a professional and clean establishment (I dont think many doctors offices are as clean), then look no further than Mad Ethels.What really set my experience apart is Mad Ethels practice of bringing in guest artists. My tattoo was done by a guest artist, Markus, and it is an amazing piece of artwork.From the moment you walk in to the bro hug Mike (I think that is his name) gives you on the way out, everything about the Mad Ethels experience is 5+ stars.All the tattoo artists at Mad Ethels are extremely talented and I cant wait to get more work done by this shop.

I had a cover up design in mind, which Colby made a reality for me and he did a wonderful job - even working on my tattoo upside down from his perspective, which blew my mind. Prior to Colby, I had come in and discussed design ideas for my cover up with Chris - who was extremely helpful. The entire crew at Mad Ethels are very talented, professional and polite. The shop itself is neat and clean. The resident artists are booked out months in advance and its easy to see why - if you want a tattoo, this is where you want to have it done.

Very bad experience here. I booked an appointment in March for a custom tattoo with a specific artist. The appointment was booked for May 30th. Shortly after I booked, I went in for a consultation with said artist. We talked for about 30 minutes about what I wanted (custom lettering). He told me that he would draw several different versions of what I had in mind and have them ready on the day of my appointment. We shook hands and I left feeling excited and confident that I chose the right artist. A few weeks after the consultation, I sent a follow up email with some more examples of what I wanted and to confirm my upcoming appointment. I never received any type of confirmation, which should have been a red flag. When I arrived for my appointment, there were two other people waiting for the same artist, both of whom got confirmation about their appointments. The artist arrived late and had completely forgotten who I was, let alone the fact that he was supposed to give me a tattoo. He had not done any of the drawings that he promised to do. They tried to pass me off to another artist who was there already tattooing the other person that they had triple booked. The excuse they gave me was that the receptionist who made my appointment had mass deleted all of the appointments made in the past few months and no longer worked there because they were experiencing migraines and got an MRI and had to quit work because the results were not good. That is about as much detail as they gave me. While this may have been somewhat true, it sounded very suspicious and the whole experience was bad from the start. It felt like they were being dishonest. I would not recommend getting a tattoo here.

Bradde was awesome! I received a nose piercing done by him and it is healing beautifully. He has always been happy to help with any assistance that I’ve ever needed. I will definitely be back to see Bradde for all of my future piercings!

I went in to get a very small tattoo and was able to get it done the same day, the receptionist was incredibly nice and even took time to help me pick out the right font for my tattoo. The tattoo artist also came and helped me when I was having trouble figuring out exactly what I wanted, they were so patient with me which I thought was so nice because if I was irritating them, you definitely couldnt tell, haha! My tattoo was done very beautifully as well even though it was something small. You can tell they really take their time to make things perfect for each of their customers. I would definitely recommend this tattoo shop to anyone! Thank you Mad Ethels!

Great service. Friendly staff. Bradde is an amazing piercer. I took my 9yr to get her ears pierced for her birthday and she didn’t even realize he was finished. He talked to her and made her feel completely at ease.

May 2021, my wife and I came in for Tattoos. Tony was our artist and he was amazing! My wife had a design already drawn and he worked with her on sizing and location setting. I had an idea and he created a work of art! He was patient and listened and gave great advise! I highly recommend the studio and especially Tony!!

10/10 would recommend anybody to go here. They’re absolutely one of the best shops I’ve been too. It’s really a great environment, the staff is super welcoming with all around really great people! I worked with Jet on a tattoo that was done at a different shop. He was able to explain to me what was done wrong and had no problem fixing it ! He was awesome. I will, for sure, be going back to get more work done!

I’ll be honest, between the in depth talks about thicc giraffes and chasing squirrels for photo ops with jewelry this place was amazing. Chris did an absolutely incredible job with my cover up, she is so insanely talented. She “made a tree from her brain” and it was exactly what I wanted. 10/10 for everything. Highly recommend for tattooed thicc animals and anything else you want.

I love love love this place, they make you feel super appreciated & like you matter. Also they send cute little cards for Christmas & even after your first experience they send a little thank you card which I thought was super adorable. I forgot the piercers name but she’s super cute, has a great personality & helped me more than I expected. Will deff be coming here for any piercings (because she’s the best in town) or any tattoos. Oh & the owner is the sweetest coolest man !

I had a great experience, all the way around. Everyone who works here is friendly and knowledgeable and welcoming. This shop is mostly appointment only but even as a walk-in, I was treated wonderfully, given great advice, and listened to. I made an appointment with Anton, who turned the old tattoo on my foot into part of a bigger masterpiece. I felt comfortable, I got exactly what I wanted and it looks better than I could have dreamed. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone who is interested in getting a tattoo- whether you have an exact idea or just a vague one, they will be able to give you something you will really love.

Jen is fantastic. Got three cartilage piercings done. She was very informative, walking me through every step of the process, piercing care, the importance of metal types, etc. She is also very caring. When my piercings were becoming irritated due to my rough sleeping patterns she saw me immediately to change them out to smaller studs and they have been perfect ever since. Definitely sticking with Jen for any future piercings. Ive also heard nothing but great things about their tattoo artists and plan on getting my future tattoos done here.

A great tattoo studio with amazing artists. I had three sessions, around eight hours total, for this tattoo and I am so happy with the result.This was my third piece (the others were done elsewhere). The first two covered the inside of each forearm. This was a wraparound for my left forearm. My artist, Ember, did an amazing job creating the art. She blended it so well with my existing tattoo and made a tattoo that is a work of art. Shes also a pretty darn light touch with the gun-- lightest of the three artists Ive had so far.I wish I could give more than five stars. Ill definitely being going back to finish the rest of this arm.

Take your kids elsewhere! Bradde was very unprofessional. I asked “why there was a need for a consult and a separate apt for piercing” He claimed he doesn’t usually see kids on Sunday and then refused to pierce my child and said I “could take her somewhere else”. We have had piercings done multiple places and never had to make multiple apts or been treated like we were treated. I was just asking a question as a mother to understand why there was a need for us to have two appointments. I didn’t have an attitude even though I was told on the phone that day that he would consult and pierce her ears as a walk-in. I specifically asked since we live a ways out. I waited patiently and then he responded irrationally when I asked a simple question. Your 25 years of “experience” does not mean that parents/clients don’t have the right to ask a question. We went somewhere else same day and got beautiful piercings with one appointment and no attitude.

This place is incredible! I was a walk-in and they were very accommodating. I got a helix piercing done by Lily who was so professional and kind. She made me feel so comfortable that I wasn’t nervous at all and the process was quick and simple. I definitely recommend Lily and the whole team!

Ive been to many tattoo shops and this one is by far the best Ive ever been to bar none. The shop is beautiful, spotless, and the customer service is amazing. I got a botched armband a while ago that I feared wouldnt be coverable but NOPE. Steve is a freaking genius with the way he covered it to fit a new Japanese piece were working on. He far surpassed the ideas/expectations I had in mind for what could be done with my botched tattoo. Cant wait till its finished, Mad Ethels is the best and worth every penny. Anyone in the area please check them out you wont regret it I promise, 5stars all around.P.S they even sent me a little thank you post card in the mail, its so cute :)

They let my six year old pick out her earrings. They had a lot of choices, so it took her some time to pick out her perfect earrings. They were so good with her. They treated her as if she was a star. She could not stop looking at her earrings in her ears. They gave her chocolate and a stuff animal. She had a wonderful experience.

Best experience Ive ever had at any shop any where. Everyone there is very professional, and respectful. Candice is an amazing artist and I cant wait to see her for my next tattoo. She took the time to draw it exactly how I wanted it and where I wanted it done. She also took the time to scale it to the other calf so that they were proportional. EXCELLENT!!!!

Went for first session on a tattoo last week. Candice drew up a design that far exceeded anything that I could have hoped for! She is an amazing artist!!!! The piercer was amazing! His tattoos and piercings were sexy as hell.He was very professional and took good care of me. We had the best experience today with Bradde, who attempted to Pierce my 9 yo daughter’s ears, but she wasn’t having it (despite it being her idea). He was outstanding with her, trying to make her smile and laugh despite her anxiety. He finally determined that she just wasn’t ready and he didn’t feel comfortable pushing her. It was the right call. I sincerely appreciate how patient and accommodating he was with both of us. When she’s ready, we will absolutely be back. Bradde is a gem and SO good with children!
