Black Hole Body Piercing

Honestly if I could give no stars I would. This place is horrible. I got three new piercings and first off had to put a $90 deposit down to begin with, and the prices are out of control. Not only that but I showed up for my appointment 15 minutes early, and still didn’t get in until 30 minutes after my appointment time. The first couple days my piercings were fine, then after that my right ear started to hurt and I hadn’t been sleeping on that side and I had been cleaning it as I was told too with the spray that they provide. Suddenly the earring was stuck in my ear when I finally looked at what was going on in my ear, I saw that the back was fully in my ear and not even visible. I tried to get it out but the flat back earrings they use are already impossible as it is. The backing fully got stuck in my ear where the piercing was and now my lymph nodes are swollen. I went in to see if they could help me and all that I was offered was to drop the earring off to get it cleaned and repierced after I told them it was swollen and infected, obviously I don’t want to get it re pierced as it’s infected and super painful. They booked me for a consolation to talk to someone the next day, and I went in and checked in early for the consolation and as I was waiting outside for my appointment my other piercing started doing the same thing and I was over it and left because I knew they couldn’t do anything cause I was “too early” now my other ear is infected because of the backings that they use that were clearly too tight. Also these were my 4th lobe piercings, and I have never EVER had any piercing get infected, not even my helix. If you want to pay to get an infection definitely recommend!

To say that we were disappointed is an understatement!!We attempted to go into this shop on Saturday, and were immediately asked to wait on the porch. After a few minutes, a lady came out and rudely told us that they dont take walk-ins (which is posted on the door), but the attitude we were met with was disturbing.She never asked what we wanted. All we got was that they are an appointment ONLY shop and will treat you like absolute trash if you stop in without an appointment. We couldnt even ask the question my wife had.Fortunately, a much better and friendlier shop was willing to answer my wifes questions, and they EARNED our business and future recommendations!! Black Hole will never gain my business or recommendations ever again!!Good luck in the future. It must be nice to be so busy that you feel you can treat people like dumb tourists.

Great customer service. They really take into consideration what you’re looking for and they’re clean, organized, and the workers genuinely want to be there. Give yourself some time though - it’s not a drop in/out quick visit. And you need a reservation!

My 8 year old daughter just got her ears pierced (less than an hour ago) and she was pretty nervous. Joshua took his time and explained every single thing that was about to happen. Also let her know she did not have to continue to get her ears pierced if she didn’t want to. I cannot thank Joshua and Savvy enough for making my daughter feel so comfortable and safe and taking the time to make sure she understood the process. Thank you so much!!

Tony is absolutely the best. He is so personable and you can tell how much he cares about his clients. He is super knowledgeable about piercing options and how they can work with unique and individual anatomy. I have been fortunate enough to have 7 piercings done by him and they have healed wonderfully and I feel amazing every day.

Top notch in every way. Welcoming environment right off the bat, great selection of jewelry and everyone is knowledgeable. Prices were beyond fair for the service, Id even say on the cheaper side for a place of this quality. Tony was incredible. His demeanor instantly created a safe space, open and honest in his methods and advice, and very friendly. I would absolutely recommend this place!

Wow, I was blown away by the amazing service at Black Hole. I had been wanting to pierce my ears and a friend suggested that I Google some places nearby while we were in Reno. Black Hole came up and had stellar reviews. I called to ask if there was any availability that afternoon and the receptionist got me in for a 2pm appointment. I arrived and experienced amazing service from check-in, to consulting with a beautiful soul about hardware and then onto meeting Vanessa who would be my professional piercer. My partner’s Mom came along with me and we were both taken back by Vanessa’s knowledge and professionalism. She answered all of my questions and then some, plus she made me feel 100% taken care of and pierced both my ears exactly where I was hoping. She understood that symmetry was very important to me aesthetically and her execution was flawless. She even found a reputable piercer close to my home town for my follow up appointment given I did not live in Reno. We never felt rushed and left there much more informed and very happy with our overall experience! Thank you Black Hole team, and special thanks to Vanessa. You rock!

The inside was very nice and clean I was greeted as soon as I walked in by a very friendly receptionist all the staff were very knowledgeable and very friendly and extremely helpful they have a great selection of high-end jewelry and body piercings they helped me along with exactly what I needed and even recommended a couple of things I was very happy with the customer service they we so cool they even threw in 2 spare beads just in case. So Awsome I was impressed with the wide selection that they have and I will definitely be back

Such a great shop, I’ve gotten four piercings here and every time it has been an amazing experience, so clean and everyone is so friendly and helpful. Josh is an amazing piercer, there’s no one I would trust more!

Not a fan of this spot, but I definitely tried. Please support a better spot down in Carson called Spear Me. The staff is kind there and they’re equally skilled. And the pricing is far more reasonable.

Ive been going here for 5 years with over 5 piercings and spent over $2k in jewelry. I had a piercing eat up my ear while on vacation and the post was inside my ear. I had to take it out obviously , got back into town the next day and called t0 get it re pierced on my 6 wk follow up. They refused to wave the piercing fee which is only $40 BUT it was so disrespectful for them to not wave the fee since I was only 8 days into my peiricng and was out of town so obviously I couldnt get to them to have them do it. If you have a loyal customer who has given you solid business for YEARS and they couldnt wave the fee put a bad taste in my mouth. The owner really messed up this. I will take my business to a company who values loyalty. Also they are very overpriced with the jewelry. The peircer himself is a nice guy so thats why I gave them 2 stars.

When my daughter tried to go in for a simple belly button piercing, they told me it was booked out for weeks. Prices also extremely high and jewelry wasnt included. Went to evolution tattoo instead and got it done in less than 15 minutes AND paid 65 for the piercing and jewelry. Would not recommend balck piercing to anyone and instead encourage you to go to evolution tattoo!

Always the best service and experience here. The staff is incredibly welcoming, thorough, and kind. My daughter was pierced here on her 9th birthday and still tells the story of her experience here 5 years later. Great job!

So the shop is super clean, everyones very friendly and helpful. I just didnt have the greatest experience.I had my nipples pierced for ten years when they started reacting weirdly and I took them out in 2020. Waited until Nov of 2023 and got them redone after missing them so much.I first scheduled with a woman just because I feel more comfortable with another woman. It got rescheduled with a man bc of a family emergency which is fine. I called and asked to be rescheduled to another woman and they were super nice about it and did that.I show up on the day of my appt and its a guest piercer whos a dude.... Im like ugh whatever I have the balls to do this today I dont wanna wait anymore lets do it.First off he didnt tell me he was going to do anything. He said it makes people tense up less to do it without warning but I absolutely hated every second of his method. He also angled my piercings bc he said everyone slouches so theyll be straight when you stand normal and they are in fact always crooked. I feel like theyre so diagonal theyre embarrassing. He also went so far posterior into my body he got areola which might explain why I was in the worst pain of my entire life.I just really had a bad experience and I hope they never have that guest piercer back because he was just not great, poor attention to detail, and not announcing when he was going to pierce me was immensely upsetting.Ive had issues with the healing the entire time and Im close to just taking them out again and being done with it.Theyre crooked, wont heal, and constantly hurt.

Not due to my error!!!!Once again!!! Your endscheduled an appointment for a month out. Show up early for my appointment to be sent away due to miscommunication/ reception screw up on their end!!!I have the text saying the correct appointment time. Yet on their end I am wrong. Make it make sense!!!

Ive gotten 6 of my piercings here and the staff are always extremely professional and everything is very sanitary. At this point I wont trust anyone else. They are also able to answer any questions or concerns I may have afterwards as well.

Our experience here has always been excellent. My daughter wanted to add piercings to one ear for her birthday. The online scheduling is quick and easy. Dont wait until the last minute, they book out a few weeks.The actual visit was easy. After checking in, my daughter was able to choose her jewelry. The employees are very helpful with indecisive teens and offer suggestions based on what they are liking.The piercer was spectacular. My daughter wanted 3 piercings but didnt have thoughts beyond that. The piercer looked at her ear and asked if she was open about the design. He took a moment and marked her ear for her to see the intended placement. She approved and the end result is uniquely her.

Josh was super friendly and made me feel comfortable and did a great job on my nose piercing. He took the time to line it up with my other side and made it a fun experience. Just made an appointment to come back to him to get my helix!

Ive been to the Black Hole in the past never a bad word or experience, Ive just always gone to Stingray and since the they recently closed I decided to go to a trustworthy company.Took my teen son up there to get his ears pierced and it was a great experience . He was nervous and a little shy but they made it all right. Staff was efficient and polite. They are following Covid policies and are appointment only at this time. If your getting a minor pierced dont forget their birth certificate that set me back a bit time wise. Kudos to Black Hole, I highly recommend them.

I have ALWAYS had nothing but the best experiences over the last 16 years when receiving piercings or purchasing jewelry here. The best of the best when it comes to professionalism, cleanliness, quality of work and jewelry, and atmosphere. My most recent visit I was helped at the front by B who was welcoming and informative, and I had piercer Tony who helped remove three dermal piercings that I have had for the last 12 years. Tony did an amazing job making it as comfortable and painless of a process and had a great demeanor and attitude. Thank you again to B and Tony at Black Hole Piercing for making my experience positive.

I wish I could give this place 10 stars. We came into town for a family getaway and my daughter wanted to get her septum pierced. I made the appointment online which was easy and they got in touch with me the next day to confirm the appt and to make sure we bring all the correct document since she is a minor. My husband and my daughter went in and they said the entire staff was amazing. They were all very friendly and easy to talk to. My daughter said that when she walked in she instantly felt comfortable. Thank you Frankie and the entire staff for making our visit there a great one. When we are back in town again we will for sure be making another appointment. 😁

I took my seven-year-old to get her ears pierced they were a re-piercing from two years prior, and a different place did them first.Josh explained everything not only to me, but he talked in a way my daughter could understand. He answered every question she had even ones that seemed silly. He was very professional and did a great job.I highly recommend black hole.

I originally went in there with no appointment set hoping to be seen. It was perfect timing because the person who had an appointment didnt show up within 2 mins after my arrival. I was seen by Bronson, a guest piercer. He helped pick the placement for my helix piercing. I was quite unprepared lol . He helped me find the right spot I set an appointment for a few days later and had him again. They have an amazing selection of high quality jewelry. The staff are friendly. Great experience! Everyone I interacted with during my visit was kind and helpful, from signing in, to choosing my jewelry, and most importantly the piercing! I was pretty nervous about getting my nose pierced, but Tony walked me through the entire process. He was so swift and adept at the procedure that once he was already putting in the jewelry I asked “wait, was that it?!”Definitely would recommend going here for any piercings, especially if you are a little weenie like me!!

I loved my experience at Black Hole. I set up my appt online and it was easy and fast. Once I got there, I was checked in and had a short wait. I forget her name, but a lady helped me pick out a stud for my piercing and was very helpful and upfront about everything. I knew exactly what I was paying for. Once I got into the room to get it done, Jessica came in and did it quick and easy. She was very kind and made me feel comfortable and I just loved the whole thing. I would recommend this studio and I will be back!

The staff was thorough and professional. They were super kind with my six year old granddaughter! They pierced her ears tandem and it all went smoothly with no tears, a new stress ball and a certificate for bravery! I would definitely recommend them! So impressed with the level of service we received.

Absolutely amazing! Very professional, clean and comfortable atmosphere. I had both my nipples pierced. The placement is perfect and they are healing beautifully. A week after the piercing I have zero pain and have resumed all my normal activities, including rolling in my jujitsu class!

After many years and recently moving to Reno, I wanted to put my nostril piercings back in...so, began the search for a piercing studio. After a few days, found Black Hole through Yelp, and so glad I did! Their website is easy to navigate and got an appointment quite quickly.I had the pleasure of getting Josh as my piercer. And hes the main reason Ill keep coming back. Hes the best piercer Ive ever had. He thoroughly walks you through everything, makes sure youre comfortable, is very gentle, and a master at his craft. He goes out of his way to ensure your experience is the BEST experience.Aside from that, the location is great and everyone in the shop is so nice and helpful. The jewelry is top notch quality and looks fantastic.Needless to say, because of Josh and Black Hole, Ive not only got my nostrils looking good, but got my septum done (after 20 years of wanting it pierced) and labret put back in as well! Lets just say I like this place so much, Ill probably end up piercing every inch of my body. Lol! Highly recommend this studio!

Been going to Black Hole for years. Now it was time to get my daughters ears pierced. She was scared but the staff at Black Hole got her calm and and did a wonderful job. They explained to her the process and how to take care of her ears. Very professional and very clean place. It was my first time ever getting a piercing. My boyfriend brought me here as a surprise to get my ears pierced for the first time. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Only issue I had was that they were out of stock of a lot of the jewelry that I really wanted and was pretty bummed about that. Even though I got an alternative stud, it sucks not getting the one you wanted. I would come back, they just need more inventory in stock especially with the amount of people that came in.

I brought my 11 year old here to get his ears pierced. Every employee was super nice and very knowledgeable. They were awesome with my kiddo and patiently answered all of his many questions. The jewelry selection is really good. 10/10 would recommend and will return the next time one of us wants a new piercing!

Worst experience I have ever had with any tattoo and peirceing parlor the girls were rude and unprofessional I will never recommend this shop to anyone ever WORST PLACE I have ever gone and I have been getting peirced and tattooed for 30 years

11 years ago, on a very drunk Friday night, a friend with a store bought gun, over confident attitude, and a bathtub seemed like a great idea at the time for free piercings. Due to the event taking place at my bonfire, I volunteered as tribute to go first (rookie move). While they prepped the area with a swab of Svedka vodka, another shot of southern comfort (lime) my friend leaned over to begin...... and immediately fell on top of me pushing me into the bathtub and the gun accidentally going click. Yup, she still managed to pierce my left earlobe, however very very crooked. With the courage of the whiskey, I let her proceed to finish the act and lasted a whole 2-3 hours with my ears double pierced. Fast forward to now and I have always wanted to have them re-done, minus the alcohol and in experienced piercer. Today was the day to correct that absurd night & the Fates aligned me with Josh Cramer who walked me through the entire process and made the entire experience as painless as possible. No seriously, it was painless! And he was such a delight to chat with during the entire experience. I look forward to my future piercing for myself and my future kiddos that are looking to express themselves. One of the better establishments I have ever been in with customer care! From the easiness of making the appointment, to checking in,the lady helping me pick out my jewelry and the aftercare directions, I highly recommend! Love that it is Woman owned, but ALL are celebrated too!

Samantha completely wasted my time. I called in and asked for an appointment just to buy a pricing. I called back right after I paid for a ride to get there telling her, I’ll be just a few mins late. I called back 3 times to verify if that’s okay. She said that’s fine, but when I got there she refused to help me. Then offered to book me appointment for the following day after I wasted time and money to get there. I would never recommend this company to anyone.

Scheduled an appointment online to have jewelry changed out with my own that I purchased elsewhere, as this is an option on their website. The instructions say to drop the jewelry off 2 hours prior to your appointment in order for them to sterilize it... so, I make the trip to drop off the jewelry. Upon arrival, Im informed that they do not insert any jewelry that didnt come from their store because they cant guarantee it. I wasnt looking for a guarantee, only jewelry change. So, I wasted gas and time for them to attempt forcing me into purchasing their grossly over-priced jewelry. If yall dont change jewelry using what the customer brings in, the option shouldnt be available to book for such appointments. Terrible first experience with this business, but I went to Under Your Skin Tattoo, and they took care of me for half the price listed on Black Holes website.

Took my 5 year old daughter in for her first earlobe piercings. It was a great experience from start to finish. Langdon, super friendly and knowledgeable, checked us in and helped us with jewelry selections. Tony was amazing with my daughter, really sweet and took the time to explain everything, even the noises from the jewelry cleaning machine. There really wasn’t any moment to feel anxious with him talking her through the whole process and making sure she felt comfortable and confident. For ages 5-9 they require tandem piercing which is the best route. Josh was the second piercer and just like the rest of the staff was awesome and beyond friendly. I would highly recommend Black Hole for anyone, but especially for young ones who might be nervous. They are all around impressive.

This place is amazing to get pierced! I got my septum pierced and Angela, the cool kickass owner, is a sweetheart who did mine. The place is so clean and everyone are so nice and awesome. I’ll definitely come back soon when I get one or two! 🖤

Amazing quality jewelry, great service, great staff, and no complaints. For a small little business, I was definitely impressed. Make sure to make an appointment as they can get really busy and are pretty booked out.Yes, it is a bit more expensive then you will see at some other places. But for the quality they have, it is 100% worth it and the most I have seen for a service fee is $15 I think. They are also upfront about how much it will cost and their prices are on their website. (Prices & selection of jewelry are not on the website)I got my second ear piercings, septum, and helix here. The helix did get infected but that was my own fault and they did debrief me on how to take care of it every time and warned me that the helix is one of the hardest to heal.I will be buying my sister some of their earrings as well. If you don’t know what nap earrings are, look them up! That’s what they have and I couldn’t be happier.Definitely recommend!

I had a philtrim piercing appointment today. The walk in experience was very welcoming. It’s a small shop but very cute and cozy. They had a lot of beautiful jewelry to choose from.Where it got uncomfortable for me was when I actually went to the piercing room. Vanessa was my piercer and she had a cold, and robotic demeanor. She had a very unwelcoming aura. I rinsed my mouth out with mouthwash as she instructed. I guess I spit it out a few seconds too early, and she rudely pointed it out that ‘it was less than 30 seconds because she was counting.’ That could have been handled more politely. After that comment she instantly made me uncomfortable and I contemplated asking her to not continue on with appointment.I will be back for my post change in 6 weeks, but I will make sure the appointment is scheduled with someone else.

Got my nose pierced with my best friend today and we were thoroughly impressed with the service and attention the staff gave us. Joshua Cramer was our piercer and he made us feel very comfortable, explained every step and very attentive. He genuinely cared how we felt and how we wanted our overall look to be. Highly recommend this place!

This is the only place that I go for piercings. A few weeks ago on my birthday I got a new helix piercing. I know it takes a while for piercings to heal but I felt like this was taking longer than usual and maybe I needed a new type of earring to help the healing process.I made an appointment to buy new jewelry and they were so awesome to look at my ear, see that I had extra swelling and needed a longer post for my earring to relieve the pressure and help the healing process.Within minutes I was seeing someone. they very easily took out the piercing, switched out the post and within a day I can see a tremendous difference in the healing.I’ll be back in a few months to get the post switched out and get my industrial piercing done.Thank you guys! You’re always amazing!

It was super easy to get an appointment. Their website is great. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted by a wonderful woman. I started to look at jewelry for my nose piercing. I wasn’t sure if I was going to get a bigger diamond or not. I was actually there to get a smaller post for my tregus piercing. Anyway, everyone at the shop was wonderful and super helpful. I got my tregus taken care of and got a larger diamond for my nose piercing. Wonderful place and amazing staff.

These are the best people in town for piercing. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Its worth every penny to have the best shop around taking care of your holes!

Bl Black Hole has the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with at a piercing shop went in and paid as much for one piece of jewelry as an entire piercing at another facility. They gave us the wrong size bar and told us that if it didn’t work that they would give us a replacement went in to get the replacement, and the managers said she could do nothing about it when I informed her that we were promised that it would be returned. She said she literally can’t give Jewlery away for free. well I paid $44 for a bar that was not even the right size

An excellent experience as always. Black Hole is the only place I will take my family for piercings. It is incredibly clean, organized and proficient. The staff was super helpful and patient with my picky teen. Mike helped show her what would work for first time piercing and was patient going over price ranges in our budget. Online booking is simple. If you want a tandem piercing or more then 1 at one visit, I recommend emailing or calling so you book correctly. That can be a little tricky.I can’t say enough amazing things about my daughters ear piercer Josh. He has pierced my other daughters ears as well, he even saved us a trip to the ER when her earring was caught in a trampoline.Josh is so easy going, my kids are so comfortable with him, that they request him only. Josh is light hearted and funny, he explains the entire process and every single step before it’s done. He works with kids so comfortably and the nerves they may have. He is quick and efficient, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Josh and Black Hole Piercing.

Absolutely wonderful place! Clean, helpful, friendly, cannot say enough good things about Black Hole! They did piercings many years ago, great back then as well. Today I just got new jewelry and they were fantastic AGAIN!

My daughter has been pierced by Tony multiple times now. He’s always taken the time to explain the steps of the process and the aftercare. All of my daughter’s piercings have healed exceptionally well. We’ve always had fantastic service. The entire staff is very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. And another thing I have to rave about - every square inch of the shop is immaculate. Very clean and sterile! Super impressed with everything BHBP!

This is the only place I’ve ever been pierced. I got a daith piercing here about 10 months ago. When I wanted to change the jewelry, I failed to do so on my own. Black Hole was so great about getting me in for a jewelry change the next day. Jesse was super great about working with me to find something that I liked and that would work with my piercing. I can’t recommend them enough. The entire staff is awesome at what they do.

I like the environment and the piercers but the prices are crazy expensive. $50 dollars for a simple lobe peircing not including jewelry is insane.

Best piercing experience Ive ever had. Went for a consult for my tragus but I have a short one so I went with a helix. I was seen by guest piercer Nessa who was amazing! She made me feel very comfortable and I barely felt the actual piercing. She explained all the aftercare and the saline spray was included. I am a dog mom of three and got the cutest jewelry with a puppy paw! I love it! Highly recommend Black Hole and will be back!

I have personally not gotten any piercings done by Black Hole Body Piercing but I have been a guest many times as my Wife has gotten work done. I have also many times purchased items for my Wife from them and I can say they are an awesome shop. Their care and dedication to their craft shows. The jewelry and supplies they stock and sell have been excellent quality. The Staff has always been super professional and rad. Watching the piercings my Wife has made me 100% recommended Black Hole to others.

Got my first professional piercings, a septum and a standard eyebrow, done by Dominique today. She was so incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the process. She kept me calm and grounded throughout the most painful parts of the piercings. I was blown away by how clean, high quality, and professional they are, given how affordable they are (my septum and eyebrow were $40 each, jewelry included). The receptionists were also really personable and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially piercing newbies like me. Thanks, BH!

Before COVID, I went to Black Hole for a couple of piercings. I had great experiences, and the piercers were great. However, more recently, I scheduled an appointment to buy and insert some body jewelry. I arrived on time to my appointment and filled out the paperwork. There was only one worker at the glass cases assisting someone. I waited an additional 15 minutes past my appointment time before I could even begin looking at jewelry. I felt like this was wasted time. I booked my appointment online and had spoken to someone about wanting to potentially replace 4 pieces of jewelry and they said they may only have time to do 3 in this period. Thats fine. When I was called to the case to look, I had maybe 15 minutes if that to decide and get pricing. I felt really rushed and the chick even told me, you only have 5 more minutes because your appointment started X amount of time ago even though they had cut into my appointment to begin with. I was only able to find two pieces of jewelry in that time. First off, I feel that some of the jewelry is overpriced. Secondly, I feel like they nickel and dime you. You have to buy new backs for certain jewelry. You have to pay for the jewelry and then the fee to put them in (per X amount of items). I get it, they are a business and yes, we need to pay for the piercers time. Their office is very cute but was way too crowded. The parking lot is one way, and someones truck was blocking the driveway. I spent about $300 for two new pieces of jewelry for my ear and nostril after all the fees and I didnt even pick the most expensive kind. I was not pleased this time around. Black Hole is not how it used to be. Sorry.

I wanted to change my nose stud to a hoop. Keep in my mind, my stud was only about a month old at that point. I called and asked when I should be able to change my stud, and the girl on the phone told me that the piercers usually recommended for it to be replaced after 6 weeks. So I said great, and set an appointment two weeks later. I went to the shop and started looking for a hoop and the girl assisting me asked how old the stud was and I had told her that it’s 6 weeks old. She notified me that they do not recommend to replace the stud to a hoop until about 4 months. I mentioned to her that the reason I was there in the first place was because the girl I previously spoke to told me that I’d be able to change it after 6 weeks. So anyway she advised that I can still change the stud, but only to a different stud, which I agreed to. When I asked the actual piercer as to when I can change it to a hoop (because I wanted to make sure and hear it from the professional themselves), she told me that I’d have to wait 6 months. THE INCONSISTENCY! Fast forward to the next day, and I woke up with the jewel missing. I went back and they were able to get me in although there weren’t any openings, which I deeply appreciated. I chose a different jewel because the one I previously had was no longer in stock. Mind you, the jewel I chose this time around was a diamond with prongs. I didn’t know better at the time and the piercer who helped me install it did not advise against the jewel that I chose. Fast forward to a week later and I developed an irritation bump. I tried the saline solution that was recommended and two weeks later, it was still not healing. I called Black Hole at this point to ask for advice and expressed my concern that maybe the prongs on the jewel is what was causing the irritation and the girl on the phone told me that the prongs shouldn’t affect the piercing whatsoever and that those type of jewels are used on new piercings “all the time”. I gave it another two weeks, using the saline solution and the irritation was not going away. I was very diligent and nothing. I then went to a different piercer, they changed my nose jewel to a flatter, round disk, as they advised that the prongs could definitely be contributing to the irritation. After changing it, not even an hour later, the irritation bump had subsided. 1 day later, it is completely gone. My point in leaving this review is I hope this business would develop some consistency in giving their customers the correct information. That’s all. I still think that the business offers the best selection of jewelry in town, but what would you do with beautiful jewelry on your body if it’s covered with irritation and pus.

My child was getting their ears pierced for the first time and this place was amazing. So clean and so friendly. From the receptionist, to helping us pick out jewelry, it was a great experience. Tony was our piercer and he was so comforting and explained everything well. He made us both feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place for any piercing service you need.

Black Hole Piercing is located in Midtown. I was able to book my appointment online and the process was really easy and there were plenty of options for my schedule. The staff was really professional and walked me through each step of the process. It can be a bit pricey but it was worth the money for such a nice, clean, and safe environment. They also typically recommend a follow-up appointment 6 weeks after your piercing but its not required.

For my daughters first piercing, it was a perfect experience. And that was my concern- not only to have it done right, but that her experience would be a good one. Professional. Welcoming. Tony and staff was well worth the price of admission and a memory that my 10 year old can grow with. Strong recommendation here. Very thankful I made the right choice to go here.

I have been here before for an ear piercing and although I felt like it was over priced. I was treated nicely and I really enjoyed my visit, so I went back for body piercing. I made an appointment a month in advanced and when I went in I was waiting for 25 minutes and was still not taken back. Someone that got there after me was taken back before me. I was confused as to why they were taking so long. No one said anything to me so as I was waiting I got cold feet and decided not to through with it. Needless to say I will not be going back.

Our 9 year old daughter had her ears pierced there today. They were AMAZING with her! From the front office person showing her the jewelry, to the piercer that answered all of her questions. And there were many. So impressed with their customer service as well as how amazing they were with a kid. Highly recommend

I took my son to get his lip pierced and the entire thing has been a disaster. First off, the piercer wouldn’t use a hoop like my son wanted, stating it was “shop policy” to only use a post. Ok, fine I guess. But then he had to pierce him twice as the first piece of jewelry was too small, and he had to create his own makeshift jewelry with a bar meant for other piercings. It was very traumatic and still cost more than any other place my son has gone to. Less than 24 hours later we had to rush back to the shop because the backing to the post that was made up fell out and my son had to hold the jewelry in place while we drove over there. That stayed for less than a week before it broke off again, at which point my son had to force his own hoop through the hole just to have a stable piece of jewelry that wouldn’t keep falling out every other day. We had this evaluated by another piercer and she thinks there are actually 2 maybe 3 exit holes in the back of his lip from the same front entrance, which is why this piercing isn’t healing properly and why it has been so hard to keep jewelry in it. We want to call this whole experience a loss but my son paid so much of his own money toward this that he’s desperate to keep the piercing, despite all the trauma and aggravation is has caused thus far. Black Hole used to be the best shop in town but we will now be warning everyone we know to definitely look elsewhere.

I have to say, the piercing and the piercing expert is good. But everything, every step is really costly. Even you did pierce here, and want to take care of your piercing in a month take off the earrings or pick one more aftercare spray, etc they ask you for money. ( Actually one spray not enough for 6 months’ as the piecer recommended ) I cannot believe I spent overall more than $200 for general ears piercing in this shop, but it is so stingy to the customers. I would not step in again since it all about money.

Great people. Very clean, they sanitize everything after each customer. Easy to schedule an appointment, quick and efficient once you arrive. Jessica was very personable, thorough with after care instructions and answered all my questions. Definitely recommend and will be back.**Ive since been back many times, each time has been just as nice as before. I took my 8 year old daughter for earlobe piercing, everyone there was absolutely fantastic. They were all so kind and patient, and incredibly professional the entire time. Josh and Tony did a phenomenal job talking her through the process, and helping to ease her fears. I was incredibly pleased and satisfied with the entire experience, and I would 100% go back, and highly recommend to anyone.

Black Hole body piercing is the only place I go to for my body jewelry. You do have to make an appointment but that can easily be done online. Employees are super nice and helpful! They do offer to put in jewelry for you for $10 I believe but it’s worth it because some pieces are almost impossible to remove at home.

I went in to get my belly pierced my piercer was Vanessa. She did a horrible job. She left my piercing crooked and I emailed her asking if she could fix it or give me a refund she never answered i paid $150 and it wasn’t even good don’t come here honestly just do it urself

Had some piercings done last month and I am thoroughly pleased with the professionalism of the piercers as well as their incredible skill and experience.The shop is quite small and they are often booked out but dont let it deter you. They are well versed in all things piercing related and will let you know with a consultation (initial cost is like $50, but you receive it back towards the jewelry when you follow up for the actual piercing) what your specific anatomy can or cannot support! They also go into a ton of detail regarding cleaning and upkeep, and they answer all the questions you have so theres an understanding of what has to be done and how to do it, between client and piercer.They are also super active on their emails. I emailed them back and forth from a year to 4 months before I finally got my piercings done and they were SO helpful and never once turned me away (I feel like I was pretty annoying with my incessant questions).My hair stylist M actually referred me to Black Hole, and now, I want to refer everyone else.All of the horror stories I read online about shady pierce jobs wont happen here; these guys are legit.

The team here was so amazing. It is clear they take great pride in their work. The facility is clean and the staff is so patient and kind. They answered all my questions and after my piercing they walked me through the care needed. The day after my OCD didn’t like the placement of one of my pieces I politely inquired about a redo and they helped remove the jewelry and after it was healed redid the piercing and at no time did they make me feel bad for that request and actually thanked me for being proactive about the decision so soon after the piercing. Almost two months later they still respond promptly when I have questions about my piercings. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a piercing . My 4 year old wants her ears pierced and I will be taking her here when she is old enough (I am following BHBP age recommendations- they are the professionals). I did my research so I knew the jewelry was more $$ then what you can get online, but that cost is worth it for quality. I love this place

This was my go-to place for years. I haven’t been there in a few years (I heard they changed ownership somewhere in between), and I decided to stop in because I needed some new jewelry.As soon as I walked in I could immediately see a difference. They have a person who sits at the front like a receptionist and you have to talk to them before anything else. I didn’t have an appointment for service since I was just planning on looking at and purchasing jewelry.Now, they may have this posted on their website, but I had no idea you need an appointment to just look at the jewelry. I was in the area and simply walked in to purchase (because that’s how it always was in the past).After waiting in the line to talk to the receptionist, they said I’d have to wait 20+ minutes just to look at the jewelry. Like what?! I have NEVER heard of a piercing place not allowing you to just LOOK at the jewelry. I know this place is small, but I’ve been to places that are even smaller that allow you to look at the jewelry through the glass without an appointment, even when they only have 1 or 2 people working.I was fully ready to walk in and spend a bunch of money on new jewelry, but it’s like they don’t even want the business.TLDR- this place used to be great; now it’s not; you need an appointment to look at jewelry through the glass; you cannot just walk in and buy.Bffr, Black Hole.

High quality customer service and pieces of jewelry available to purchase even without getting pierced there. This is a place where the saying “you get what you pay” for really rings true. 5/5!

What a great experience we had here. The shop was very clean and well-kept, and they had a great selection of unique jewelry. The biggest reason Id recommend them to anyone was the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the piercings. My wife and I got vastly different piercings (helix and nipples, respectively) and they were both the best ones weve ever had. Thank you Josh and everyone at the front who were wonderful throughout the whole thing. Her cousins getting pierced by Wes at that time also reported the same awesome experience.

The 2 Joshs were amazing. Best pep talk to a 7 year old who has waited a year to get her ears pierced. She was very nervous but they talked her through each step and made us all very comfortable.My one concern that prevented a 5 star was the greeter and jewelry selecting. The greeter, although nice enough, was over the top at how she spoke to everyone. Simplicity is best.When selecting the jewelry, I asked to isolate our choices and her response was rapid and unclear. The first and second selection was apparently unavailable in pairs. This is why I asked to isolate. After we confirmed the 3rd selection was available she went through the pricing at warp speed. Its so unnecessary to communicate that way. I often find when people do that, they are working on commission. Communication is very important when the final bill is 245 bucks. The most important people in a business are the initial contact employees. They set the tone for the entire experience

Im sure Im older than their average clientele but they made me feel comfortable immediately. The shop is a gorgeous old remodeled home that is spotlessly clean. The best covid precautions Ive seen yet. I had a bit of a wait but they were apologetic and perfectly polite about it. They had a huge selection of jewelry to choose from and let me know my diamond has a lifetime guarantee.My piercer was Bambi. He was professional while still being warm and friendly. Seemed genuinely interested in my comfort.I highly recommend him and this shop.

Tony is amazing and made the experience for my daughter so great that she was already talking about getting more piercings. Shes 6 😆The whole staff are so welcoming. I wont be going anywhere else.

My daughter is the one who got her piercing here. It was a long wait time. There were too many people waiting to be pierced at the same time, even with an appointment. The jewelry/piercing is overpriced, in my opinion. They told her a different price over the phone. It ended up costing at least $60 more than what they told her it would be. But, the piercer was professional and explained the aftercare very well. The place was clean, and the actual piercing went well. Ive been pierced here before, and my experience was great, but that was before stupid covid.

Overall the experience me and my wife had was great. They were quick and easy, and very helpfu. They have many variety with jewelry, very clean and very organized. The only con with this place is I feel like they might be a little overpriced. But for the quality and service, it’s still doable. Definitely will return to The Black Hole Body Piercing.

I absolutely love this shop. It’s impeccably clean and each staff member is kind and professional. Not only is Vanessa Jo incredibly calm and thorough in her explanations of what she is doing and the required aftercare but she’s also straight up a lovely human. Yes, it’s on the more expensive side but I’ve yet to have an experience this positive anywhere else. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The atmosphere was very nice, I liked the plants and the style of house the business is in. The people were fine, I feel like the person I got to help me pick out jewelry was not very confident as she kept going in the back to ask questions of someone after asking me questions about my piercings. I wish that the person who was answering her questions came out to help me as I felt like it was wasting a lot of time. The piercer who put my stuff in asked if the stuff I had in was from Clair’s, which really felt like a diss. Whatever. I’m giving three stars because three pieces are great, whereas the other two I can’t even use. I picked out jewelry for 5 piercings that are each at least 16 years old, one for my tongue, one for my belly button, one for each of my tragus, and one for my industrial. While the jewelry for my tragus piercings and industrial piercing are fine, my bellybutton piercing and tongue became very inflamed, to the point where I had to take them out less than a week of getting them in. I’m pretty disappointed as I spent quite a bit of money and only came to this place because I thought I would have everything correctly sized. I think the jewelry was too tight, I should have known I guess. I dont think I’ll be coming back in the future.

Quick, easy, and painless. Got my septum pierced here and everything was explained in detail and my piercer (I believe her name was Vanessa) was extremely knowledgeable and definitely knew what she was doing.

The place is very clean and sanitized between each customer. All staff are very friendly, accommodating and willing to answer questions as well as give advice for first-timers. Joshua pierced me both times I have gone now and he is an excellent personality. Makes sure you know how the piercing is going to go beforehand, what your aftercare will look like and answers all of your questions. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get their first, second, fifth, etc piercing!

The staff was very friendly and reassuring however, when purchasing my piercing beforehand, my mom and I were told the jewelry will be $40 each and we said okay. Then when it came down to the total purchase, it was $186 before tip. $40 for each earring and $40 to get pierced is $120 so where the other $66 came from, we didn’t know. We contacted the company for an itemized receipt and then were told it’s $40 to be pierced, $40 for the earring backs, $40 for the post, and $40 for the jewel on the earring. We were not told this when asked and nowhere did it say online that it would be $40 for every individual part of each earring. I am not sending this to bash the company, I simply want to let everyone know that this is the price for your jewelry and if you are okay with that, great. But my mom and I could barely afford this price and were not told this is how much it would be. We paid it when we were told because we assumed there was something we missed and did not want to create a scene.

I went to this shop specifically to get my first ear piercings and a helix throughout the previous years. Placement has been good. They are a clean shop. What I experienced back in the day was not the easiest, or most pleasant follow-ups. That being said, the rest of this review reflects recent experiences.Tried to visit the shop to get new jewelry. Online said open for shopping. Door had a sign saying Saturday and Sunday by appointment only. Visited on a Friday around 5pm. Stood around quite a while (taking up their busy parking) only to be told they are appointment only, even for looking at jewelry. Only one person was in the front area, working diligently, to take calls and turn away walk-ins.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and supportive. Very aware of keeping everything sanitized at all times.

When you have to have an appointment to literally look in the cases, there may be an issue with your current business model. Staff were mostly OK, other than the receptionist not knowing much about the inventory. Overpriced and not going back, although Ive had several piercings done there over the years. Ill give them this, theyre probably the cleanest piercing shop in town.

My husband got his ears pierced with Josh. He was extremely professional and helped my husband feel at ease since it was his first piercing ever. The whole business was very clean and looked nice. As well as the rest of the staff was very polite and helpful. 10/10 would recommend coming here.

Yesterday I went in and had such an amazing experience. I was going to go get something re pierced and Vanessa jo was my piercer. She educated me deeply about the metal I was getting and made me feel incredibly comfortable in every way. When it was time for the actual piercing she was incredibly gentle and went through a breathing technique with me which helped incredibly. I think the pain this time getting the piercing was cut in half from when I first go it. I won’t lie the whole thing was a little pricey but it came with great quality care and quality piercings, while having such an awesome experience. You’re amazing Vanessa!

Just had my nose piercing done here by Josh and he was fantastic! Allowed me the time to adjust placement and side. Super knowledgeable and professional! The piercing took no time at all! The gal at the front was very helpful as well with picking out the perfect jewelry! Their selection of jewelry is incredible! The shop was very clean and Josh did a great job with cleanliness during the piercing as well! Love how this is just a piercing shop rather than a tattoo shop as well! You know these guys are good because that is all they do! I highly recommend this place!

Very clean shop. Pretentious. You must have an appointment to literally look at the products. Walk ins are allowed, but I wouldnt count on it. No telling how long you may have to wait. The receptionist I dealt with was less than knowledgeable about the products. While Ive done several piercings there, Im not going back.

My kid got her ears pierced with a tandem piercing team. Great experience. They talked her through the process and three set up want scary at all. I really love that the business is in an old house. It was warm and welcoming and didnt smell like cleaning stuff but was very clean.

I love this place and the quality of the jewelry is why i kept coming back! it is expensive and with that being said, if you choose to come here make sure you have them put the jewelry in. recently i came in and got a new medusa ring, 180$ i think, because my last one finally fell out after like 3 years! anyways, i put a random back i found in my jewelry box in my lip to keep it from closing. when i came in, the lady who helped me told me it looked like a 16 gauge threaded back. i told her i didn’t know because it was just a random piece and i wanted a new back but she said i wouldn’t need one. i went home, put it in and got in the shower to get ready for work. it fell out and went right down the drain, and when i looked closer the back actually wasn’t threaded it was one of the push in ones. i got a second opinion from a friend who pierces at another shop, too. i’m super upset, i loved the jewelry! i did reach out and ask if there is anything we could do to resolve it and was ignored, i’m disappointed and feel misled. that’s a lot of money for a little piece of jewelry. my advice would just be make sure you’re getting the right jewelry and don’t let them “eyeball” anything lol. also, just have them put it in.

First time i went here was good i was satisfied with the piercing no problems at that point but about 4 months into having my piercing it’s still infected so i called and they told me to keep an eye on it. So i did for 3 more months till my piercing kept getting infected while i was taking very well care of it, using cleaning spray, taking the piercing out and cleaning it, i’ve tried many things to prevent it from getting infected. I called again only to be suggested the same thing 3 months before. My partner also experienced the same piercing and still has pus coming out even though he took it out months ago. I don’t think it would take 7 months for our piercings to heal and it’s extremely odd it’s still infected. Overall the staff are nice and their piercers are nice as well but i don’t think we’ll be coming back here for piercings in the future.

Went in today for the first time. I had a wonderful experience! Honestly the best experience I’ve had getting a piercing. They answered all my questions. I knew going in, that the piercing I wanted wouldn’t be for everyone but, I made my appointment in hopes that I would be a good candidate for a second philtrum piercing. Hydi was my body piercer for the day. She was absolutely lovely! Made me feel calm & she was very honest with me when it came to answering my questions. The entire team was really great! It is pricey, however, it’s great to know that I’m in good hands! The shop is clean & the layout is awesome (like I’m in a high end piercing shop! And that’s exactly what Black Hole is!). Like I said before, it’s good to know that I’m getting a piercing done in a clean shop that knows what they are doing. I left smiling because I was so in love with my new piercing!!! I’m just so happy with it! Thank you Black Hole for making me feel even more beautiful.

I walked in and asked about getting a double hoop nose piercing, the girl that helped me was very kind and informative. I appreciated her advice and she let me know that they could do my piercing today and that I should do studs and come back in 2 to 4 months to get the hoops in. The wait wasnt that long at all which was nice... Jessica was my piercer and let me just say she was AWESOME! I really appreciated her and how informative she was and how gentle she was as well. I dont know if you guys read your reviews but thank you again Jessica! I cant wait to go back.

Ive had two great experiences now at Black Hole. They are so patient when showing jewelry. Kayla did my piercing and she was so good about explaining every step of what she was doing and how to take care of my piercing after. Highly recommend!

Another successful piercing at Black Hole Body Piercing! 6 months ago I got my conch pierced by Tony. Not only him but everyone who helped me along the way was amazing. So much so that 6 months later Im back for some new jewelry and 2 new piercings from Tony. Thanks for an amazing experience everyone from reception to jewelry counter to piercer. Im sure Ill see you next year for some more!

I was here nearly 2 years ago for a daith piercing while in Reno for a conference. It is my favorite piece and it was such a quick, safe, and enjoyable process. I was so happy to have chosen this spot, and love the jewelry options as well as the incredibly kind staff!!! My piercing healed beautifully. I went to get the opposite side of my nose pierced just the other day. Staff at the front was awesome and super helpful in picking out jewelry, very knowledgeable and kind. My piercer Joshua was just as awesome as could be! It was a little pricey, but its true when they say you get what you pay for! Over all a GREAT experience and I will definitely be back for all of my piercings.

First I called to make an appointment and got the leave a message prompt so I did. I talked clearly and left my name and number and exactly what I was looking for. There was never a call back. Two days later I walked down there as I dont live far. When I walked threw the door I immediately got the lobby is full wait outside, so I did. After three people walked out, I started to come back in, I paused at the door putting on my mask when at the same time the receptionist opened the door and immediately started with you have to have a mask to come in.. the mask was literally on one ear and starting to go around the other. I had not even touched the handle to the door yet (and I had the mask on the first time I came in.).When I can in I was asked if I had an appointment, I explained that I did not and that I tried calling two days ago with no return, she did apologize for that and helped me make an appointment for my daughter to get her nose pierced. The appointment wasnt able to be sooner than a week away but thats ok. She went threw the paperwork that I needed to bring and what to expect day of.Forward to the appointment and similar situation with the wait outside. When getting called in and filling in all the paperwork it just feels kind of unwelcoming. The piercing it self went smoothly but not even 24 hours later my daughter had it come disconnected and lost while she was sleeping.I returned with her in hand and explained what happened. Had to make another appointment for them to fit her in to get it fixed. We were able to get in 2 days later. Thankfully it had not closed up.A wheel and a half later ring number 2 falls out. I am not blame them I honestly think it is a faulty design in that type of ring.Now I dont think the people there are Rude just not 100% for the customer service. Not a lot of options here in Reno surprisedly enough so they dont have to go above and beyond. I just never felt welcome there like they know there isnt too many other places to go so who needs to try. The shop is absolutely spot on clean so no worries there, but I moved here from Portland where you could fine a body piercer every 100 yard and the customer service was 100% better. If I decide to have anything else done for be and her we will make the trip back there.

I got a nose piercing, and it turned out fantastic! Everything was clean, and well put together. My only suggestion would be, if someone asks to see the needle beforehand, please show them. I understand it might “psych-out” some people, but it made me a bit uncomfortable being told I can’t see what my body is being stabbed with, haha. Again, totally understand why, just from a consent point-of-view, it did not seem right to tell someone no. For this reason, I will not say who my piercer was, but she did a great job! :) Thank you!

I have been a client since age 19 and my teenage son is a client. These guys are great! Super fun people with great bedside manner and absolutely the best selection of piercing jewelry in town. Like top-notch stuff.

I had the urge to get a tongue piercing but I shopped around first. I went to Black Hole first but it was pretty busy. So I checked out other piercing shops around Reno and found that Sunday was busy for everyone. Two other shops had prices starting at $60, while Black Hole started at $70. Ten extra bucks was worth the great experience. One piercing shop smelled of weed and didnt even want to greet me while another looked a mess and dirty. I ended up going back to Black Hole and they got me in within the hour. My piercer was Joshua and he was excellent. He explained everything and answered any questions that I had. He even offered to find other places for me to get my jewelry changed out after the healing process because I told him I was taking a road trip out of town. The other staff was great too. I saw how they interacted with other customers. Good vibes. They dont do same day appts but walk-ins are welcome.

I’ve gotten all of my piercings here and have never been disappointed. All of them were done by Jessica and I’m beyond happy with all of them! I just went in for a bent jewel and she knew just what to do, downsized to the exact length and was such a gem while doing it. She went above and beyond my expectations and made it match the rest of my jewelry as well. I love this place and highly recommend it!! 😊

The Piercing shop looked very nice and professional, and making an appointment was very easy. However, there is a HUGE discrepancy between the price of the piercing and the jewelry that they have. I ended up not getting pierced here because most of their jewelry cost $200+. They only had a few options that were less than $100. I wish they had told me that was what their price ranges were when I booked the appointment. I was not prepared to spend that much on jewelry and hadnt budgeted for that.

Visited Black Hole for the first time this morning and was satisfied with the entire process. From the simple form filling via phone, the jewelry counter and the piercing process, everything was great. Josh was awesome!

Jessica did my industrial and I absolutely love it! She was very knowledgeable and explained every step and the whole process. She was quick and gentle, it was over so fast! This place is so fun and the two ladies that I met were very nice and put me at ease immediately. I went and got my nose pierced with my sisters and the lady that did us all ( I didnt catch her name) was easy-going and hilarious but also very professional. It was quick and virtually painless and best of all it didnt cost an arm and a leg! (And yes it was very sanitary-savvy). I love my piercing and love this little homey-looking shop. 100 out of 100

Staff was helpful and knowledgeable; made the process as painless as possible and had a large selection of jewelry from which to choose, including the option to customize your specific piece of jewelry. I will say, I was somewhat shocked when my very basic industrial bar and cartilage stud came out to $89.The jewelry looks to be high quality, however, and they inserted both pieces for me in the shop, which I hadnt expected, but which I really appreciated. I had an altogether pleasant experience and expect to return.

I have gotten several piercings from Black Hole since 2013, and their quality is unmatched in Reno. The studio itself is clean, welcoming and warm. All the piercers and consultants are professional and will spend as much time as it takes to work with you, even if the studio is busy (which isnt uncommon). The large selection of jewelry can make it hard to find a piece (they are all AMAZING), but rest assured they will guide you through the process to make sure your experience is the best it can be. As far as the actual piercing process, the piercers are sensitive to your needs (for example, if you are afraid of needles, they will tailor your experience to minimize needle anxiety), and will do everything they can to ensure the experience is as comfortable as possible. They are there for aftercare as well in case of any concerns with the piercing, as they genuinely care for how your piercing heals. I cannot recommend Black Hole enough. If youre on the fence, take this as a sign: go. Its awesome. You will not be disappointed.

Everyone at Black Hole are amazing!!! I had lost a portion of jewelry (which was super old). They took the time to help me find the right replacement (I’m really picky) and installed it. I just got my tongue pierced and this place is AWESOME! I have had it done twice before in other shops and by far JESSICA BROWN was the most professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful piercer I have ever met! This place has fantastic customer service and I will definitely go back again. In and out in 10 minutes, and already my healing process is going better than before. Great place! I highly recommend it!

I feel like I just had $100 stolen from me. I went in to Black Hole because my eyebrow piercing fell out and I needed to get it replaced before the hole closed up. I was told they couldn’t put my old jewelry back in because they don’t sterilize jewelry that doesn’t come from their store. I had to buy a replacement, and was very clear that I wanted something smaller than what I’d had before. I was shown a display with a range of sizes, then taken to the back room. After they put the new jewelry in, it was clear that they had actually given me a larger piece than I brought in. Cost $112, no refunds, no replacements. Going to have to pay even more cash to have someone else fix their mistake. Would not go here again under any circumstances.

I went in Saturday night (around 8:15) for my first piercing as an adult. I was nervous, but the whole entire place is very calm and inviting. Joshua was the person who pierced my septum. He was very kind, personable, and experienced. I would go back if I decide I want any more piercings, and have/will continue to tell people to go here for their piercings.

The most terrible customer service Ive ever received! Was referred by a person thought Id check it out while visiting from Florida. Simply looking for a nose ring. Was told that I couldnt touch my own nose ring as it was against policy?? Asked why & no explanation!

I drove from South Lake Tahoe just to purchase 2 sets of earrings for my 8 year old daughter who’s sensitive to cheap metal…..I needed 5 minutes of someone’s time so that I could spend $300. I was told there was “no time to help me” and I could “maybe come back and be helped as a walk in customer LATER” but only MAYBE. Meanwhile, there’s an employee washing glass and another dusting the frames on the wall. As a business owner, I was disappointed with the entire situation. You can’t take 5 minutes to help me, when I expressed I knew exactly what I wanted, and had just drove from Tahoe to spend money at your place of business. Awful awful service. I would NEVER turn down someone’s business like that, especially given the circumstances. I didn’t drop in and expect a piercing. I wanted to hand you cash for a couple pairs of earnings and 5 minutes of your time, instead dusting frames was a higher priority. I won’t be spending money here ever again. Nor will I suggest this business to anyone.

Took my 11-year-old granddaughter here today to get her ears pierced for her birthday. It was a great experience. Very clean, very professional. Wes and Josh did a fantastic job making her feel comfortable. Couldn’t have been a more satisfying experience!!!

Wow! Fantastic customer service from start to finish. I went in to have my ears repierced, turned out Joshua C. was able to simply reopen the old piercing holes and I even received a partial refund. Reno should be proud to have such a fantastic establishment.

I walked in to Black Hole to see if they had time for a septum piercing that day. Every single person I talked to there was incredibly professional, polite, and knowledgeable. They helped me choose a piece of jewelry that was low-profile, just how I wanted. And the woman who did the piercing was wonderful - I felt like we were best friends by the time we were done (which was so quick!). If you’re looking to get a piercing, I don’t know why you’d go anywhere else!

I recently noticed my nose piercing was not moving through the hole. I got the hoop from Black Hole a few months back so I wanted to return there. I saw Bambi (yes like the movie. He said it!) and he told me what the issue might be. He was fully explained the process and my options. He was able to fix my piercing and ring with no complications. He was super friendly and his customer service was excellent.

So I came here to just buy a nose ring and go not even want them to put it in my nosex just wanted to buy it. Black Hole Body Piercing is the top option for piercing in Reno! I love the fact that it’s a dedicated shop that specializes in only piercing. The expertise and precision is unmatched! They are true professionals. The jewelry is the best selection that I’ve ever seen at a shop! I got two piercings done within 3 weeks and took my friend to get her nose pierced while she was in town.

The only dedicated piercing shop I know of, this place had a reputation for being the best and they dont disappoint. Clean and funky atmosphere, lots of interesting artwork and jewelry to look at while you wait to be taken to the piercing room. They are clearly very adamant about a clean and sterile environment, but manage to avoid a stiff hospital feel with all the beautiful decor in the converted house. Staff is knowledgeable, experienced and professional. They were also very patient with all the questions I had. So much better than a piercing gun at a chain accessories shop in the mall by some teenager with who knows how much training or cleanliness procedures, at Black Hole, you can be sure they follow proper guidelines for disinfection and sterilization, and can help you with ALL your body modification dreams.

I sadly didnt manage to break Joshuas 3 year record of nobody fainting on him with my two earlobe piercings, while he proceeded to drown me in juice to really make sure I didnt break the record. He made me extremely comfortable and relieved my nerves through the entire appointment and the piercings look absolutely great, 10/10 experience!

I went there today to get my Diath pierced! Very clean shop! I haven’t gotten a piercing in years and was scared at first but Vanessa Jo helped me through my anxiety and explained after care instructions very thoroughly to me and answered all my questions! Everything is sanitized constantly which makes me feel cared for I’ll definitely be back for more!

The people doing the piercing are amazing. Professional and personable. Be warned if you are taking a child. They require a pic of the childs birth certificate and another form of id for the child. That would have been fine if anyone had told us this when we made the appt. (And told them the person getting the piercing was 7) or sent that info in any of the multiple reminder texts. Instead they were going to send a very excited 7 year old away without getting her ears pierced if we werent lucky enough to have a neighbor who could go take a picture of her birth certificate.

Me and my boyfriend just went in and got our nipples pierced and it was a really great experience. I was a little nervous since the last time I got anything pierced I was 7 and it was my ears. Jessica did a really great job at making them straight and keeping up conversation so that I felt more at ease. Its only been a day and the only time the piercings hurt is if I accidentally brush against them! They are a little pricey but it is well worth the quality of the piercing!

Beautiful studio! They carry very nice and high quality jewelry in a variety of colors/sizes/styles to complement your unique style. I love the decor and home-y feel. The professionals performing the piercings are all extremely trained and the owner is also such a sweetheart! I love this piercing studio and I highly recommend it to you!

Been here before over the years and always professional and on time. My daughter wanted a piercing so made an appointment NOT a walk-in. Waited 30 minutes outside due to COVID regulations and nothing! Went in to ask about a time frame and receptionist acted like it was an inconvenience to even be talking to her and no clue how much longer it would be. Cancelled the appointment and all she could give was a rude okay and have a good day. Won’t be back and definitely won’t be referring anyone. Business has obviously gone downhill.

I went to Black Hole yesterday to get my nose pierced, and feel compelled to write a review! The whole experience was great, from the gal who patiently helped me select the jewelry to my piercer, Hydi. Hydi is incredibly personable, FUNNY, and makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Most importantly, she cares a lot about your experience and ensures that you are happy with the piercing. I walked away happy and equally impressed with the service and care. I highly recommend Hydi as a piercer :)

We simply went in to look for jewelry(today 4/16/22) and were told since there is one cashier we can’t without an appointment (just to look at jewelry, not to get pierced). Apparently one cashier can’t handle 3 people looking at jewelry to possibly purchase. The receptionist then told us it would be a 30 minute wait “maybe, but no promises” (exact quote), so we then went down the street and purchased jewelry from a store busier than they were. Thanks for nothing black hole.

So, just wanted to share my experience. I simply came to black hole to grab a nose ring didn’t need anything special just needed a piece of jewelry and get out of there. Waited 20 minutes just to LOOK at the Jewelery. With the pandemic I understand they have a protocol so I wasn’t too bummed about that.After I selected a piece of jewelry they asked me to wait outside while they bent the jewelry. For another 30 minutes… I am not a jewelry expert, but when they came out it was a long stem with a 90° bend which I could not in any way fit in my nose comfortably. Either it goes all the way up into my brain, or all the way down with a long bar sticking out of the bottom of my nose.If you are looking for a quick turnaround and a simple process this is not the place for you. I gave this place two stars because the cleanliness was obviously important. I had to come home and then the nose ring with a pair of pliers just to fit it in..

I brought my 7-year old in to get her ear lobes pierced (at her insistence). The experience was great for her. The piercer was impeccably clean - she washed her hands three times while we were in the piercing room - and had a great bedside manner with my daughter, totally putting her at ease. She was incredibly careful to get the dots for the holes exactly right, redrawing one hole three times. She brought in a second piercer (more hand washing) to do both ears at once, and it was done in an instant, and my daughter said it didnt even hurt. I found the reception at the front, when we arrived, to be a bit brusque, just this side of rude, but the actual experience - and cleanliness! - of getting the piercings was worth the price.

A bit on the expensive side, but definitely worth it! Tony was so friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. A very charming and, most importantly, very clean Studio. Already booked another appointment, very impressed.

Walked in at 8:30pm on the dot to purchase a new nose ring and rook ring, and was told they would not put in the new jewelry that I was about to purchase. I just wanted to purchase from a local Midtown location. 30 minutes prior to close. Im appalled at the lack of customer service, and guess I wont be buying local.EDIT: After an email exchange with the owner, I returned to the store today to purchase. Black Hole is the ONLY place in Reno Ill get piercing done! I cant recommend it is enough to everyone I meet. I’m currently working with Bambi and love his sense of humor and professionalism. 10/10 always great advice and not afraid to tell me the truth. Black hole is such a professional shop.I’ve had a few ear piercings here as well as my belly button.This morning I woke up with broken earring and an earring post that had gone through the hole- I tried everything to get it out myself but had no luck.I decided to go to Black Hole to get some help. I was a walk in appointment when they were very busy. They were able to squeeze me in and get the post out of my ear so quickly and virtually pain free.Every staff member who helped me was extremely professional and kind.I will always go to them for my piercing needs- and clearly can count on them for weird situations like I had today also!!

Small shop , but very cute. Limited space capacity due to Covid. Called and made in appointment the week before going in. They made the process very easy. Got checked in, they helped me picked plugs and put them in for me. Was stretching my plugs from 0 to 00. Great selection of high quality beautiful jewelery.

My husband and I went in today to purchase jewelry, there were only two patrons in the store sitting while the rest of the piercers were standing back off to the side behind the curtain and talking. The girl at the reception booth Who had a horrible attitude said that we had to have an appointment to purchase jewelry! When no one was in the facility to begin with why would we need an appointment to purchase jewelry? I myself already have a nose piercing and is looking for a nose ring and my husband already has gauges and is looking for new jewelry for his gauges for his ears. We think it’s absolutely absurd that we would need an appointment when people are just standing around and they could’ve helped us right away! We could understand when it was in the beginning of Covid but at this point the world is starting to move back into a little bit of a more positive direction can I have to have an appointment just to purchase jewelry! If I could I would give this Review absolutely no stars!

Wonderful experience I was nervouse coming in and the manager as soon as I walked in made me feel at ease. The whole staff was professional and wonderful . Clean and convient location. The piercer Bambi was AWESOME he made me feel comfortable answered all my questions and made me feel confident with the whole thing. I drove from the bay area for a family vacation. Googled this place and boom turned out to be the best decision. Any future piercings will definitely be at this location.

Vanessa Jo did my daith and tragus piercing. She is amazing! They were quick and barely hurt. She, also, helped pick and change my triple helix jewelry to match my newest piercings! I have severe metal sensitivity and was very relieved to find that they use implant grade metals for their jewelry. Black Hole Body Piercing is a very clean and professional shop!

This place has great staff, very friendly and professional. They are how ever very pricey but I guess you pay for what you get. They are very understanding and helpful and are willing to take the time to do the job right. They make you are ready to go when the time comes. If you need extra time to come to after piercing or glucose they have it on hand and their to help. They also make sure to measure and make sure they are using the right size jewelry for your body. They are also VERY clean!!!!

Even though they are on the pricier side for piercing shops in Reno, you truly get what you pay for. They make a big effort to make sure that you are comfortable and happy with everything that goes on. The staff are all inspiring ladies who are so knowledgeable and good at what they do. I had given up on piercings as I had nothing but problems with them from the time I was a kid. At 35 I decided to give it another go and came here. With their technique and incredible skill I am a year in and have not experienced one day of pain, redness or swelling. I brought my 6 year old in to get her ears pierced for the first time and they had her relaxed and laughing immediately. What a warm and welcoming environment to experience your first piercing. All the staff is wonderful, professional and caring but a special shout out to Jessica Brown for always making herself available and always giving such good advice.Thank you!

So I went online to complain about black hole not being accessible to people with disabilities and tried to find another quality shop to go to and within a couple days they contacted me personally to let me know that they would be happy to help me get myself and my chair into the shop however they could as they do this for plenty of other disabled clients. Apparently theres logistical issues with them getting a ramp, so they make due. I really appreciate that they choose to be inclusive to and many people as they can rather then just ignore our business. You might be out of luck if you use an electric chair as they have several stairs to clear. It speaks volumes that one of their employee went out of their way to invite us back in, I was freaked out by other shops that were more accessible so Im glad Im not just gonna get stuck going wherever.

Got a piercing here for my birthday, simple second hole. I LOVED my experience. The shop is beautifully decorated, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be coming back for more piercings! Such a warm place to go.

Around this time last year I went in for a septum piercing. After failing to taper open the piercing track from the one Id had previously, which had been in the proper spot. She chose to pierce way too high up and went through my cartilage. When I pointed out how high up it looked, as it was tight enough against my nose to be uncomfortable, she suggested we use a different size jewelry. After stretching open my freshly pierced hole to fit a larger Guage of jewelry which should have been used in the first place, it was still noticeably too high up. It looked like two silver boogers. When I pointed this out, she claimed it was just the swelling. Well, the swelling did not go down. It remained to be obviously in the wrong spot for two weeks until the ball fell off! That should never happen if the piercing is placed correctly!I decided to let it go, 90$ down the drain, until today. I went ro another shop here in Texas to get it re pierced, and was told that the scarring in my nose from the slop job they did to me here is so bad, I wont be able to safely get it re done. Thank you, Black Hole, for messing my septum up so badly I cant get it fixed. I will not be returning, and will be actively deterring others from visiting.

WOW! What a gem BHBP is! Ive just stopped by this afternoon to get a second lobe piercing and a helix piercing, and I was in and out in under an hour. The shop is so so so clean and kept up with COVID regulations. They have a huge selection of different studs, hoops, and rings, and youre sure to find whatever youre looking for. I was so impressed with how knowledgable the staff members were. Jessica was very friendly and professional, and answered all of my questions. It is pretty pricey, especially if youre going for more than one piercing like I was, but its completely worth it. Thank you, Black Hole! Ill be sure to come back next time I want anything pierced!

All the employees here are super chill, well trained and experienced, and helpful. They will make sure you are satisfied with your piercing and they are also very patient. Booking appointments is probably better because they can get busy. They offer a good variety of quality jewelry as well.

Came here to get my 14-year-old daughters ears pierced. She had them pierced back when she was about 8 or 9 at Claires. Her ears got infected and it was such a horrible experience for her that she went years without wanting to go through it again. Needless to say, she was nervous, so I wanted to find a place that was mellow and knew what they were doing. This place was recommended by my daughters 5th grade teacher, who weve become personal friends with. The rooms are decorated almost like meditation rooms. The employees were very mellow and seemed very ethical. They made me bring in a birth certificate and a photo ID of my daughter before they would even touch her. They used a real needle instead of a piercing gun like the places at the mall. They gave her quality stuff to clean her ears. We are about 3 months in and no infection to my daughters ears at all. She is really happy. Its a little bit pricy, but you get what you pay for. Im happy to pay a little more and have the job done correctly with no complications. Thank you very much!

I scheduled an appointment with a professional piercer, as I have had trouble with my body jewelry fitting correctly from studios around town. Paying extra did not get me anything. I wound up with professionally placed jewelry that doesnt latch. The studio even upsold me on the faulty jewelry. Disappointing interaction. No need to go back.

Went to Black Hole today for my piercings! Bambi did an amazing job and was very professional! Was very thorough about explaining everything he was doing and the after care! Very friendly staff all around! I will be going back!

Went in to get my nose pierced. Am a repeat customer. Had Bambi as my piercer was absolutely wonderful. Great sense of humor and professional. Very clean would highly recommend black hole for any piercing. If you are looking to get a piercing go to black hole.

They are super comforting of people getting their first piercing, and they are very honest of how much pain it will cause. Joshua is the best as well, he has a great sense of humor and is very knowledgeable!

My BFF went to Black Hole to have her ears re-pierced after several years of not wearing earrings. The staff member behind the counter who assisted her was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. After waiting a short time, our piercing technician nicknamed Bambi took us into a cozy exam room and he proceeded to quickly re-pierce her ears. Bambi was very witty and professional and provided answers to all our questions while providing excellent post piercing instructions. Our experience at Black Hole was very positive from beginning to end.

Bambi was patient and very informative with all my questions concerning my daughter. The ladies in the front were friendly. It was standing room only when we arrived early Sunday night. People of all ages present when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested in piercings.

Can’t praise this place highly enough! Everyone is extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. I came in to get new jewelry for a previous piercing and they have an awesome selection and give good advice. I’ve also come in for some SOS walk in appointments when I needed some jewelry put back in and every time they know exactly what I need and how to help.
