Aces Tattoo

My wife an sister in law just previously got tattoos done at this shop like they have before but this time around it was more of a dope smoking show than anything. Never knew how far this shop went down the drain until all we witnessed was the artists taking continues smoke break let alone the Ink work this round was sub par. An now my wife is currently in the hospital with an infection in her tattoo. Now if this was her first id understand an say she didnt know how to care for it but we are both inked up nicely an never once until now have I ever seen a tattoo swell an puss as fast as this has. Let alone the artist didnt shave nor clean her arm prior to tatting so Im now wondering if he used new or old gear for the tattoo.

I needed someone to finish a piece I started a couple years ago in Seattle. Jen at Aces was great. Fast, a light hand, easy to talk with. The place is clean, there are a number of artists working so you dont have to wait weeks to get in - I was scheduled next day. Cash only, reasonable rates.

We celebrated my daughters 18th birthday by taking her to Reno to get her first tattoo. I made the appointment with Drake, and he was amazing. His work was amazing, and he made my daughter feel very comfortable. The shop was clean and everyone was very friendly. We will for sure be back!!!

Another amazing tattoo by Amaro!!! Every year for his birthday my husband does a new tattoo. We wont go anywhere other than Aces!!! Everyone is so amazing!!! Amaro is our artist of choice!!!

Got my very first tattoo here with Nikki. It was just a small paw print but she did an amazing job. Even though it was simple, she asked me questions about the design and helped me pick a spot for it. Nikki is super nice and made me feel really relaxed, even though I came in nervous. Overall this place exceeded my expectations and I’m very pleased :)

I went to Aces as a walk in a few years ago. I saw Jake, and sad that’s the guy I want to do my Tattoos, so I waited for him. I am a big 80’s New Wave/Alternative fan. I started with a Depeche Mode Album cover Tattoo. He did fantastic job. I now have 5 more Tattoos. Jake is indeed the best!!! 💕

Its becoming a tradition for me to get a tattoo whenever I am traveling and this session did not disappoint. Amaro did a great job interpreting what I wanted and was very efficient. He kept me at ease even though I have a high tolerance for pain 😅. I love this tat and cant wait till it fully heals. Definitely recommend this shop for its cleanliness and efficiency for walk ins.

Aces is great!! Amaro is a great tattoo artist with a light hand! Super nice guy, and super nice staff and space in general. I forgot my wallet the first day and had to come back the next but they were so understanding and super great to work with. Ill definitely be coming back for more in the future.

Love the shop and the environment, they always make you feel welcome and comfortable. I highly recommend Jon and Nikki. Theres a wide range of artists/different types of art.

The entire team of talented tattoo artists is impressive and my Go to Artist is Jon Mcann. I love the very colorful sleeve he created. Jon is also a very talented painter and I have a beautiful huge mural he created at my home.

I went to get my first tattoo with my dad, and it was absolutely amazing experience. The front desk was extremely amiable and made the process super quick and easy to understand. As confused as I was, they simplified everything. My tattoo artist, Nikki, was amazing. She did a beautiful tattoo, and it was exactly what I wanted. She was a lot of fun and gave me an incredible experience for my first time. I am getting a second one very soon, which goes to show how wonderful they are.

If you’re black, this isn’t the shop for you. I was just out there a few weeks ago for a festival and someone I met who’s a local recommended this shop to me. First pic I saw on the first page of one of the artists portfolios featured a swastika. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt, as the artist doesn’t choose what ppl get tattooed, but the female artist there had the attitude of ‘whites only pies’ and the rest of the ppl there just has a general vibe of ‘you don’t belong here’. Just dry and short. Granted, no one was calling me the n word or being blatant about it, but I definitely did not feel welcomed or wanted. I felt like everyone there was purposely being just rude enough to get me to leave on my own, which I did.And even if you’re not a poc, I urge you to scroll through some of those portfolios first. These artists attitudes and skill levels DO NOT match. If you’re gonna be that way, at least be great at your craft.

First time here was amazing! The guys are super chill. Professional staff clean shop and badass music. Drake was accommodating and was very communicative which is always appreciated. I will definitely be back here for several more tattooes! Thanks again!

I made an appointment almost a week and a half before said date . very rude, wouldn’t listen. MIND YOU on the phone i told them where i wanted it from start to finish. they told me to email them the photos so it’d be drawn up. i get there, it’s not drawn up, they didn’t even know what i was getting . and then when i tried to explain it , they cut me off and told me that where i wanted it , would not be possible . i then asked if they had suggestions as to where it would be a better place and they simply continued to be rude and standoffish. the guy was late , wasn’t prepared then proceeded to tell me that he was trying to leave when he was done with my tattoo and that he couldn’t do it today because he simply was not prepared for an appointment i made. nore did i receive my refund for my deposit i put down.

Nikki was amazing! She took me as a walk in and right away! I was in and out in 20 min. She was also just so nice! Love my tattoo ❤️ Thanx Nikki!

Went in for a walk In for a hand tattoo. Jake was able to get my design drawn up and placed where it needed to be. Came out legit! Will for sure be coming back to see Jake again for any other ink in the near future. Thanks again, bud!

I like Aces a lot and their crew but the work Nikki did just makes me sad when I look at it. I got something fairly simple and shes such a talented artist. I wish she would have just rescheduled instead of not putting her full effort in. There was a mistake she said wouldnt transfer and it did. The images were supposed to be separated by a line between them but not touch the images and this was hurried and messed up. I wish I could get them redone. Theyre still pretty good but be assured of something, basically lied to really sucks. Id go again but with a different artist I guess. Disappointed I have to write this. Nobody is perfect... :/

I had my little chihuahua Andie tattooed on my forearm. Rob was my artist. My tattoo is absolutely beautiful and perfect just like the photo I gave him. I got to meet Kevin and several of the employees...Class Act!I would highly recommend Aces! Rob thank you...see you again. Shelly

12:16:23 update.Unfortunately my daughters and I went back today for another round of tattoos and the customer service was horrible. We called in to see how busy they were, we were told we may have a small wait. Once we got there the lobby was full and I asked how long and the guy at the desk was a jerk!! Seriously said well however long it will take to get through everyone behind you. I said okay so 2-3 hours and he literally said yeah I don’t know however long it will take. Didn’t offer to have me sign in to get in line or leave a number to call back. I asked if Jake would be available and he said yeah again I don’t know. It was such a different experience than I had the two other times I’ve been there. I walked out with my daughters and will never step foot in there again. I was so disappointed in the customer service that I will gladly give another company my time and money.Don’t go in expecting a pleasant experience especially if the guy who “helped” me today is at the desk.My daughters and I had work done here today by Jake, all I can say is they are voted #1 for a reason. I will always go back to this shop and specifically Jake.

Drove in from California to get my 16 year old son his first tattoo, Jake was great, he is an awesome artist and did amazing work, great attention to detail and creating exactly what my son wanted. My husband also got a tattoo while we were there and Drake did an excellent job On the lettering and color! Shop is very clean and everyone friendly! I highly recommend this shop!

Came in for a walk in after hearing bad news, first tattoo! For being a teen girl, at first felt very nervous but all the staff made me feel so much better. Nikki made me feel very comfortable and they all cared about my well being. Made sure I was feeling okay, after almost passing out twice. Very friendly and helpful, funny people. Cant wait for the virus to die down to get more.

If you’re a POC please ask to see a Portfolio before getting any work done. As someone who has had one long term artist and couple of random artist (24 tattoos) I know and it is visibly shows that colored ink shows well on my skin. The tattoo artist Nikki asked if I wanted colored ink (red & green) or just black ink. I told her colored ink. Only in the session did I realize that she was only doing black ink and I brought up if she was doing red and green on me. She said she forgot and then later on stated that she thinks that black ink would show better because of “my dark skin” I told her I was becoming frustrated and that colored ink shows well on me and point to all the tattoos on my arm. Then said “we’ll what do you want me to do, can’t erase it” I’m frustrated because I told her from the beginning I wanted red & green, I have multiple examples of colored ink showing on me. If she didn’t feel comfortable tattoo black skin I would rather her tell me that from the beginning. But it was really traumatizing experience and I honestly don’t think she she understood why I was frustrated. Also even in small talk she came off as really judgmental and even making a comment about some of my previous tattoos and said “you have a lot of words on you, like a notebook” which I tried not to look deep into but if I’m already having a bad experience that’s probs not the best thing to say. Other than the artist, the man at the front desk was really nice. As previously stated please as for a portfolio or simply don’t request her.

Amazing shop. Nestled among great food establishments and boutiques is where you can find this local icon. If you have heard bad things about this place, its likely the person spouting such was unreasonable. The shop is beyond clean. The staff is not only professional but honest amd extremely friendly. The work is impeccable. I had a shoulder cover up that I am utterly in love with. The piece that Jon McCann covered for me was an ugly very black tattoo. Pricing will always depend on what you are seeking. Well worth the cost x10! I couldnt be more pleased with my experiences here twice now. Very much looking forward to continuing my tattoo work here!

Took my daughter here to get a small Tattoo behind the ear. Mind you, she had to earn it, good grades, proper manners, etc. Glad to see “Jake” who I perceive to be the owner, has the same type of values as a parent as I do... asking my kids if they get good grades etc....the quote he said about being parents, not friends to your kids ...made both my kids perk up. “ Dad, he is just like you, says my youngest, says your quote!” Haha! He was great with my daughter and let us all observe! Definitely going back for mine! Thanks for the great customer service!

Went there on pi day to renew my ring from my wedding day. My wife got a matching one to commemorate our commitment to each other forever. Excellent place. Clean with great artists that tell it straight up and know what they are talking about. Was worth the 1600 mile round trip.

I just got back from getting my first tattoo at Aces (although not my first tattoo ever, so I do have a bit of an idea what Im talking about). The shop was clean, the staff were all nice, and Nikki did a great job on my tattoo. She made sure I told her what I wanted and then did an amazing job delivering. It turned out even better than I had hoped it would. I cant wait for it to heal so I can show it off. (And I did listen to Ray Gun by Thin Lizzy on the way home.)

Nikki is wonderful amd funny. I am glad I stopped by to see her again. This is the second tattoo she has done for me. I left with a smile on my face. I will definitely be back to see her again. Her work speaks for itself.The guy at the front desk could be a little nicer to customers.

I had a very technical and specific tattoo in mind, and the artist Drake at Aces Tattoo really did an amazing job. Even the tiniest details are legible, and he was super cool about doing my nerdy math tattoo. The shop was clean, the artist was clearly a professional, and I feel like I walked away having paid a reasonable price for the level of detail required.

A good, clean atmosphere, with a great staff. My husband and I are very happy with our matching tattoos, done by different artists. Dont be upset if you cant get right in, as a walk-in. The wait is worth it. -Regina

Greeted quickly, everyone was pleasant. Kevin did mine and was both a super cool guy and did a great color fade on a koi. Really awesome shop too: the vibe was rad.

I went in with an awful portrait of my daughter and left with an amazing tattoo! the artist Jon McCann did such a great job not only did he manage to fix the portrait he added such beautiful flowers to the frame! I was told by 3 other tattoo parlors that my tattoo wasnt reparable, but Jon took on the challenge! Im so incredibly happy with the results, I will be getting all my future work done here, and I will recommend this place to all my friends. The shop itself is a great atmosphere, If your shopping around for a great tattoo dont even waste your time looking at other places GO TO ACES!!!!!!!!

Went in for a walk in tattoo a few years ago and this was the outcome. The line work is sloppy, it’s crooked, and it’s supposed to be mirror image bat wings and it’s all completely uneven.. Although the tattoo artist was friendly it doesn’t make up for the poor quality of work I got thats on my body forever. If I’m paying for a tattoo regardless of size, I should get the best work possible. Disappointing even 2 years later.

Great place. Clean. Friendly staff. Tattoo is almost healed and there is almost no touch up needed at all.

Went there they advise me 3 hours wait. Me and my sister came back at 3pm and he advise us another 1 1/2 wait to get sister tattoos for my birthday that day. And it had been walking all around all morning /googleing looking for a tattoo place that was open and would do my tattoos on my b-day. Didnt go there find another place evolution.

Jared was my artist and he took my rough sketch and brought it to life. The colors he chose were vibrant and he got my tattoo done in less than an hour for a decent sized piece. They found time to squeeze both me and my friend in despite their filled schedules. He also made sure I was comfortable the whole duration and made it as little painful as possible.

I have been here a couple of times for tattoos. The place is clean, lots of light, the staff is friendly and welcoming. I got my last work with Jake, he was great helping me make my vision reality with some on the fly art. I will be back!

Aces Tattoo thumbs down HORRIFIC customer service the actual owners of Aces should think about replacing the guy at the front desk he is a RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL person. My daughter & I have never been treated so badly as we were treated today by him. He is literally giving the place a bad Reputation & it should not be tolerated or accepted.

Came in for a walk-in for something small, Sean helped me out and was really awesome, was perfect with the placement, and I was impressed at how quick it actually was, everyone was really helpful and awesome. It’s definitely about to be my go to spot for tattoos for sure!!

All the guys in there are awesome and extremely talented. I tasked Jon McCann with an extremely difficult coverup that my dumb 15 year old self did 19 years ago. He gave me an amazing tattoo that I get compliments on daily. I show those people what Jon covered up and it blows their minds. Drake works the counter while apprenticing I believe and he is a really nice guy that takes care of people while theyre getting work done. Thank you guys for everything especially Jon for my new tattoo and my wifes previous four that she gets complimented on daily as well.

The guy at the counter was extremely rude! Started helping us showed him a picture of what I wanted ..he left to make a copy for an artist which was fine. BUT, two other guys walked in and he started helping them, taking pictures and acted like we werent there. I said excuse me, could we finish up first. He said I know your in a hurry (which wasnt true),he said hold on and continued to help the other guy. I walked out! How unprofessional! The owner needs someone to represent his business properly. I guess my little tattoo wasnt important enough!

We love everything about Aces! Awesome tattoo artists and atmosphere! We highly recommend them! If we could give more than 5 stars, we would!!

My boyfriend, sister and I went in to get a simple small tattoos on our fingers. The line work came out blotched and messy; also scabbing was/is really bad to the point it wasn’t really done. I would NOT recommend this place!!

The artist in question I had serious problems with is no longer at this shop and those who are there now have been willing to work with me, so Im revising my old review. Hopefully it will go well with the new work Im going to have done and Ill be an Aces fan again.

Chesky told me those guys up there are total pros & I’ve known them forever so, I concur. If anyone’s looking to get clean, classic, or authentic work done, those masters up there are hands down... The Triplets of AAA’s, The BEST. Look no further, this place is it!

I went it with a design in mind. Took a half hour to set it up and another half hour to put it on. Nice folks. A little on the weird side but that kind of goes with it, doesnt it.
