Evolution Tattoo

Rarely do I take the time to write a review, but for this place I will. And in particular, for Danny Galecki’s art. I have four extremely intricate, elegant, and badass tattoos done by him. I was beyond impressed by my first experience with Danny. He actually took the time to get to know me and understand me FIRST to further his knowledge in the kind of piece I wanted. Nothing about it was rushed, which, who wants an artist who is just trying to rush through a tattoo? I am still in awe at how Danny took the time to understand me first before he went to work on creating the piece. I think by him taking the time and effort to do this is what has made my tattoos perfect (to me.) time after time, I come in with an idea of what I wanted, and Danny FAR EXCEEDS any expectation of what I had envisioned. This right here, is the work of a true master. The tattoos he’s done on me flow perfectly with my body and I am always open to his suggestions and touches. I believe it is really important to trust your artist, and I 100% trust Danny’s intuition and eye. I’m amazed, actually.The whole staff that I have encountered has also been very helpful and friendly. This is a gem of a spot. If you’re considering putting something on your body for the rest of your life - this is the place. And Danny is your guy.

Mary did my tattoo and she was absolutely amazing! super fast and patient as this was my first tattoo and the place was very clean as well. Overall a great experience!

We were in Reno for my daughters 21st Birthday and decided to get matching tattoos last minute - they were able to get us a same day appointment for the 4 that wanted to do it and even squeezed in a 5th person that decided to do it too last minute. Great service, multiple artists helped out, perfect pricing, and super cute tattoos. Thanks bunches!

I got pierced today by Adam and Jonathan helped out. I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism and kindness that they both showed. They made me feel very comfortable and safe, even when I was nervous. I loved how detail focused they were, it was easy to tell I was in good hands. They also gave me and my two roommates a great deal, overall it was an amazing experience and I cannot recommend evolution tattoo enough! Thank you Jonathan and Adam!!

I went to get my belly button pierced and was greeted by the kindest workers, Jonathan and Adam. They gave me and my friends the best deal since we all wanted piercings. They were incredibly professional and very kind. My friends and I were extremely nervous and they kept cracking jokes to make us feel better and to calm us down. It felt very clean and I can not recommend this place enough. Thank you Jonathan and Adam!

Ive been going to Evolution since 2020 off the recommendation of a friend – specifically to see Johnny – and Ive been happy with the shop every time. There is art all over the walls, if youre looking for inspiration, or you can consult with an artist with pretty flexible hours. Ive gone in with exact design ideas and they were translated perfectly, and Ive come in with an abstract thought of what I was looking for and the end result could not have been closer to my vision.I would highly recommend this shop!

The only piercer i will ever trust to pierce me is kayla. she does amazing work every time and is always gentle and kind. the raddest woman ik!

Came here after multiple places wanted a freaking appointment. Adam took us walk in no problem! Several people here too and we’re done within like 20 minutes of arriving! Very clean. Very hygienic. Good job matching the other side too!

I just went in and got pierced by Adam and Johnathan. they were so kind and helpful and really handled it all very professionally. I was super nervous and they did a great job at calming me down and making sure I was super comfortable with the whole process. i highly recommend!

I’ve gotten tattoo’d from this shop before and had a fantastic experience the first time. The reason for the 3 stars is because of my most recent experience. I had called a few days in advance and booked an appointment for my friend and I to get matching tattoos, before she moves out of town, but an hour before our scheduled appointment I get a text from the artist telling me she had double booked herself and had to cancel. I understand double bookings happen… I am just super disappointed that we weren’t notified sooner. The artist did offer to reschedule but none of the times she had worked for us and when I called the shop to reschedule with a different artist for the following weekend, they didn’t have anything available. It was just a bit frustrating. But definitely a beautiful shop and very talented artist for sure!!

Came for a belly button piercing and got it done in less then 15 min! The price was amazing and jewelry was included. Piercer was incredibly nice and efficient. I’ve been recommending to all of my friends who want piercings in the future!! :)

Had an appointment at another shop, but through my own error was unable to keep. The shop I was supposed to go to referred us to Evolution and they were able to get my wife and I in on a short notice. and they did an amazing job. Very happy with everything they did. Great shop. I am only sad that I cant for the life of me remember the name of the guy who did our work. He was great. Thats him in the first pic.

I’ve been getting tattoos at this shop for almost a year and it’s hands down the best place!!! Very clear, good environment and the people are so nice. I wish I could give this place more than 5 starts. 20/10 in my books. I recommend everyone to this shop.

Ive been going to Missi for 10 years always amazing and fantastic tattoos everyone is always so nice and fun, great atmosphere and amazing artists. I love my new addition to my sleeve cant wait to go back and finish it!!

I had the bead on my daith piercing fall off. No matter how I tried I couldn’t get another back on. Thankfully the piercer at Evolution saved the day! Thanks again!!!

I got pierced by Adam and my piercing got severely infected , I ended up needing an IV of antibiotics.I’m a dental student so I am very aware of sterilization and antisepsis . I immediately recognized how he did not have jewelry sterilized in a package yet his tool and needle was in a pouch. The bib below the jewelry was clearly soaked in what appeared to be some kind of disinfectant and at no point did it come out of a sterile pouch .I decided to check his instagram where he clearly was doing the same thing over and over . This guy does not sterilize jewelry and thinks nobody will know the difference. I reported this shop to the health department with several photo evidence straight from his instagram . Notice how the jewelry is just sitting in a puddle and not in a pouch . He literally pulled it out a box and just sprayed it down I SAW it.

The piercer here was fantastic and made the whole experience so easy. I got a simple lobe piercing and since I brought my own approved jewelry, it was $50 for both ears. If I get another piercing Ill definitely be coming here!

I wanted to edit this to give an overall review of the shop since i know that’s what a lot of people look for lol.shop itself is very clean and everyone working is also very friendly!! I’ve only ever been in 3 different shops and this one is by far the best🤙🏽Matte is my go to for all my tattoos. His work is badass and he’s definitely one of the coolest people i’ve met.I’ve gone to adam for 2 of my piercings, also a total badass👌🏽Love the environment here, and the vibes are 💯

Got my first tattoo at Evolution done by Hernan 10/10 would recommend, called for an appointment they were nice over the phone and got my appointment booked quick for the day I wanted. I got a cross with wings on my upper left chest, Hernan is super cool and did amazing work, got the design and placement perfect first try and done at a great price. Didn’t take long and came out amazing I love it. Good shading amazing design and perfect placement. I am definitely going back again in the future to get more work done!

I called the shop for a walk-in appointment last year and got a call back soon after and went it and got tattooed by Jon. Ive gotten all my tattoos with him since! He does amazing work, is very professional, and really gets to know his clients. Im moving out of state but want to come back to visit just to get more tattoos from him!

Took my wife in today for a mandala chest piece. Jon was her tattoo artist. He was such a gentleman. His work looked amazing. Very reasonably priced. I highly recommend Jon. We will be stopping by to see him again on our next trip through.Thank you Jon.

After visiting other stores, this one gave me a good vibe immediately, staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, everything looked impeccable and the art around is mind blowing. This was my first tattoo and i cant be more happy about , the staff was very supportive and helpful before during and after the job was done! Missi was my artist and she did such a wonderful job, thank you all so much!I wi definitely recommend this place!! 10000 stars!

My girlfriend made an appointment a week in advance for matching tattoos with photos provided for 3pm when I came to visit from out of town. When we arrived DANNY told us we would need to wait 20 minutes or so for him to finish another tattoo. After 45 minutes we asked where he was and were told it would be another 20 minutes.At 430pm he finally came in and had no clue what we wanted. Stencils were rushed and they didnt match, which we found out after the tattoo.. awesome.Now after its all healed my ink has fallen out of over 50% of the tattoo. Granted its a small tattoo behind my ear, but it looks really bad now. My girlfriends tattoo has scarred over and is bumpy. She and I have plenty of experience with being tattooed and the healing process, I can promise you its got nothing to do with that side of things just to cover those bases ahead of time.We will be getting it removed and redone by a better artist elsewhere that can handle time management and appointments.

Went to look for a place round town to get my first tattoo done . When I saw Evolution pop up I went to check their website and reviews out ,saw a bunch of good reviews and their pictures of the work they have done and decided to give them a shot . I went in at first to get an estimate and told the artist I saw what I wanted . Everyone there seemed really friendly ,great atmosphere to be round . I got an appointment in quick . Came in tonight ,she got me all setup and ready to go in minutes. It took her about 12-15 min to get all of it done ofc mine was a small tattoo too ,but yeah she was so friendly/Professional and quick about it . She did such an amazing job for sure I am already loving it a lot . Price is pretty fair too, Shout out to Mary on this one!!!! Will definitely come back and for any future tattoos 😁.

Hiernan (sp?) is a G. Had a walk-in appointment for my first tattoo. He printed out my reference picture (an album cover drawn by my favorite artist) and drew the stencil - his interpretation was actually prettier than the original! He got to tattooing, and it only took an hour and a half and cost about $150 ($200 after tip). He was calm, quiet, and considerate during the process. He gave me time to get up, get water, etc, which helped immensely. It healed fantastically - its a very vibrant piece and it still looks phenomenal two months later. I get constant compliments about it. If you want professionalism, kindness, and pure talent, book him. Hell do you right.

My artist was Mary, and she was the sweetest and most understanding. I had a scar that I wanted to get covered and she was able to cover it beautifully! It meant the world to me and Ill definitely be getting all my tattoos from here from now on!

My mom and I had an appointment with Danny and he was awesome throughout the whole process. He made us feel super comfortable and the tattoos came out beautiful. Thanks Danny!

I like the people that work at this shop and I have gotten a tattoo that Im very happy with here. Unfortunately, their piercer pierced my nipples incorrectly. They were incorrectly angled, too shallow, utilized externally threaded jewelry, and used a barbell that was too short for my anatomy. I only found out once I had another piercer take them out after complications with the piercing some time later. The piercer was very professional during my piercing, however I would not recommend coming here for piercings. Especially a nipple piercing.

They only take walk ins! First time getting a piercing in a long time, Kayla was super cool and quick on the nose piercing! I think I was so in shock from getting a needle through my nose that I forgot to ask a few questions about aftercare. She gave me a sticker with her Instagram on it and I had to ask her stuff later and she was super cool about it! The vibe is cool in there.

My sister and i went in for a quick little tattoo, such a great place and friendly people, clean as can be. Jon was our artist, very welcoming and talented guy. Overall was an amazing experience and will definitely be back.

My self and my family have seen Adam multiple times , he is absolutely amazing. He is kind, funny and always makes us feel like were family . We have celebrated many occasions with piercings from him, I have spent my 11 year wedding anniversary with him, my daughters birthday , and celebrating good grades ( we love piercings) every time we sit in his chair is the best time. He was absolutely wonderful with my daughter for her first piercing, he made her feel safe heard and took his time as she a tad nervous. I know He sees so many clients and at some point the faces probably blend together but I am thankful for Adam and in a weird way it is now our tradition to spend special occasions seeing him, and honestly I dont regret such a great guy being a part of our special times we will be back :)

The gentleman who pierced my eyebrow on Saturday did a fabulous job! Perfect placement, zero pain, and honestly this is the first time I’ve had a eyebrow piercing that hasn’t swelled or bruised. Very pleased with the service they even put in a bar with cute rhinestones on it 🥰 how cool is that. Thank you Evolution Tattoo was keeping a clean and professional environment I will be returning

Came here for a fun tattoo with my best friend a couple of months ago. Tattoo is fully healed and I love it. The shop is well curated and very clean. The artist we had was a very warm and funny guy, making the experience that much better. I lost his business card but I think his name was Ron?? Sorry if I got it wrong. I have several other tattoos from various shops, and I can say my experience here was one of the best.

Went in today for a septum and an eyebrow peircing and OMG I LOVE THEM!!! Kayla was super fast which made getting them both a breeze! She was also super chill and kind and gave me alot of options for what type of jewelry I wanted. Ill definitely be back! Def recommend getting peirced here 11/10 💚Pain level for both: 2/10

I have been getting pierced by Adam since 2018, out of 13 piercings I have, he has done 12. I will literally never go anywhere else to get pierced but Adam. He is professional he is courteous, and he does it right. My first nose piercing was atrocious and took a long time to heal, that is the only piercing he hasnt done on me. Every other piercing has healed faster than anticipated as well as been exactly what I wanted.I have also received a tattoo by Mary and it is one of my favorites. This entire establishment as well as the piercers/tatters are the best. Highly recommend.

Ive been getting tattooed by Johnny for a while now, and he is the man. Evolution is clean, and the employees are professional. Its an awesome experience ev we eytime I go to get work done and thats every couple months or as much as Johnny can fit me in.

I can’t believe how well I was treated and welcomed to Evolution. I asked for a quote and came in later to show Matte what I was interested in getting, and scheduled an appointment later that week. He sketched everything out, and gave me probably the best price for a piece the size of my calf, with incredible detail and shading.Everyone else was attentive and made sure I had been helped, and other artists complemented the work.Without a doubt, I’m definitely coming back, and I hope others do too!

I have revived multiple piercings from Adam and he always dose the most amazing job so kind so respectful! Will forever be one of Adams clients!I also used Doug for one of my tattoos he did an amazing job supper funny lovable guy will definitely go back!

I went to get a piercing fixed and the environment was cool clean and friendly! The staff even helped with my toddler while kayla removed an old piercing AND re-pierced it!

I have been tattooed multiple times in this shop. The cleanliness and atmosphere is amazing. I have 3 tattoos from Danny. He is so personable and charming. I have recieved 4 other tattoos from various artists who are no longer there. All amazing. Now the bad stuff.. only 1 complaint. My Husband Ann I walked in told the im assuming shop manager what we wanted, our current availabilityThat was very open for the next 3 days while we were staying in Reno. He wrote all of this down I even offered to pay a deposit. He said someone will call you by end of the day to set appointments. We are on day 3 no call no appointment made. We will be leaving today and I am very disappointed that I we were treated so unprofessionaly..

Matte was awesome! We called today for three walk ins and he accommodated us very quickly. He was professional and funny and gave us all great tattoos. Price was very reasonable at $80. Really clean as well, highly recommend this studio and Matte 😊

Me and my boyfriend decided to get some tattoos just because. We called in got told if we were there in 20 we could get in. Which awesome love that! We got there our artist greeted us the hospitality was great! Until the tattooing process. I have plenty of tattoos I know how long they usually take as well as the pressure, way too fast and way to deep. Then he started complaining about how he hates doing small tattoos and if we wanted a bigger piece we should go to him. He was done with mine in 10 minutes. Same with my boyfriends. Again complained about disliking small tattoos. Fast forward two months my tattoo is all scarred and because it’s red (which he complained about as well) it looks disgusting. Why would I return to someone who takes so much pride in their bigger pieces when they can’t do the same for walkins/small tattoos?? I loved the little triceratops that I got until it fully healed. It doesn’t look great.Edit: I believe it was Matt sorry I didn’t get back sooner

So my best friend and I went in a trip to Reno, and we had a blast. I decided that I would get my first tattoo. So we got forever friendship tattoos together. I wish I could remember what our tattoo guys name was?! I think it was Joe? Anyway, he was really cool, and was really careful and patient with me since it was my first tattoo. He also had really nice eyes! He was really cool, fast, and did a great job!! I totally recommend this place and(when I remember his name, I will come back and edit this, unless his name is Joe?!) Our tattoo artist!

My husband and I got tattoos together this past week and we had a really great experience. We were walk-ins, but were accommodated right away. Everyone was really friendly and the shop had a welcoming vibe. Danny did a great job on both of our tattoos and we will be back in the future for sure.

First time to this shop. Visited from out of state. Slight confusion booking the appointment months ahead over the phone but it was resolved the day before. Staff was friendly. Shop was clean. Danny drew up mine and my friends tattoos on the spot. He was easy to work with and they turned out amazing! Would definitely go back. We had a great experience.

Setup an appointment for 6 PM for 3 piercings. I asked the door man how long Adam was going to be. He said wasnt sure but hed check. Then he never came back outside to let us know. We left for another shop that squeezed us in. Good choice IMO. Adam didnt respond back to my texts or calls until 6:32. We were already halfway to the other shop by that time. We had left at about 6:25.Only giving 2 stars because the response time to setup the appointment was actually easy and fast.

Matte Cole was amazing. He was friendly and professional and I absolutely love my tattoo.

Adam was great. Nice, professional, calmed the nerves, and did the piercing fast! He was even nice enough to give me a tour of the back and show me his adorable autoclave that he uses. 😆 Would definitely go back!

Mary was great got me, my daughter, and sister all done she was very quick and our tatoos turned out just how my daughter wanted. Thank you guys so much all your staff was great from the minute we walked in the door. Made the drive from northern cali to get these done so worth it.

First experience in a tatoo parlor. My granddaughter was getting her first tatoo for her birthday. The whole family was invited in to watch and we had a great time. Mary had a wonderful personality and did a super job on the tatoo! At 74yrs old she almost had me convinced to get a 1st tatoo..lol

Jon is an amazing artist. His design for my tattoo was more beautiful than what I had imagined. This was my first tattoo since moving to Reno and I dont plan on going to any other artist. He did such a great job.

My Aunt and I walked up to the shop and were greeted by Danny immediately, I asked if they were taking walk-ins (it was 730 and the shop closes at 10 and we’re both going to get tattooed) he said absolutely, asked what we wanted, who wanted to go first (me of course, since this was her first time, I thought for sure she was gonna chicken out lol) and then got to drawing! He asked my aunt if she wanted to wait for him or be tattooed by another available artist to save time, and so she got hers done by someone else (sorry I don’t know your name, but I heard you were great, quick and a fun conversationalist). Once my design was applied, Danny got to work, he was fast, light handed and had a really good flow conversation wise. If you’ve been shopping around for awhile or not feelin the vibe at other shops, look no further, this place was clean, extremely friendly and had a warm atmosphere, everyone there was easy to approach and speak with. I live in Sacramento, and I’ll definitely be making the drive to get more work done. It was a great experience. 10/10 will get tattooed there again!

Dave at Evolution did my 3rd tattoo for me, a prince symbol on my chest. Best experience ever. Made me feel comfortable. Fast, easy, and reasonably priced. I will be going back to him 4 more tattoos! Staff was friendly and accommodating! 😊

Awesome place. Johnny is a badass. We are from out of town from Utah and we come to him every time we can and he always finds to for us and exceptional work! Danny @ Evaluation tattoo did a cover up on an old tattoo I had. He did an amazing job. He took his time and paid attention to detail. It came out better than I thought it ever could. I had a scar that I was trying to hide and he totally made it disappear. I would highly recommend Danny and Evolution tattoo to anybody wanting to get work done. I will definitely be back in the future.

My mom, sister and I went in today to get matching tattoos. We each got a wine glass on our wrist. Not very big and not at all time consuming. Each tattoo took approximately 10 minutes for our artist MARY to do. I went first, then my sister and lastly my mom. My sister and I had to leave before my mom was done. My mom was buying them for us as a birthday gift. When we met our mom for dinner I asked how much she ended up paying. She told me $100 PER tattoo. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME. WHAT A RIP OFF. I am absolutely infuriated that my mom got taken advantage of in that way. I am all for paying a tattoo artist what they deserve, but this lady TOTALLY took advantage of my mom. Unbelievable… they will never see any of us or any one in my family or friends going to get a tattoo rip off ever again. I will make sure to tell everyone I know how much my TINY tattoo cost from this place.

Was in town for one day and was looking to get some ink done so i called them up and they were able to squeeze me in the same day! The staff was very polite and easy going and jon was my tattoo artist and he did an amazing job definitely going to hit him to get more ink done when I come back out here and the price was not bad at all! Definitely recommend this place if your looking to get some ink done!

Carlos was great. Took me in on a walk-infor a detailed project. Spent a couple hours in the chair and I cant wait to get back and finish it. Highly recommend! My friend also has gotten work done by Danny and it came out great.

I went here to get my tattoo restored and Doug Romano redid my old washed out year old tat- He had to basically redo it but he understood what I was trying to convey through my ink and it didnt hurt; was kind. I was very pleased with the results as well as the awesome atmosphere. Have told everyone how great Evolution Tat is & looking forward to going back for another!💜 Thanks!✌

I called since I had heard and read such great things about them. But I was unfortunately greeted with an extremely rude and unprofessional phone call. I wasn’t looking to get anything complicated just a small tattoo no more than four letters and couldn’t believe how rude the employee was to me when it came to trying to figure out a date and time. I called because I know Covid has made things different for most tattoo places but wasn’t expecting such unprofessionalism. Had such high hopes and couldn’t believe how I was treated just over the phone. Might have to just try again. Hope other people are treated much better.

If you want a tattoo with missing lines, crooked alignment and overall a rush job go here. He was great at getting it done as fast as he can to get the next customer in. Having this be the place I got my first tattoo in Reno Nevada I learned my lesson, stick to getting my tattoo work in Cali. Artist was pretty cocky, but what good is that when the work is sub par. If you want something simple youre probably safe.

John has one of the cleanest shops I have seen in Reno. The service is great and the pricing is fair. John did my very first tattoo and to this day I am pleased with his work. I would recommend Evolution Tattoo Reno to anyone looking for awesome Tattoo work. Go down and check out the shop and see for yourself!

I got my very first tattoos on my wrists of the chains from bioshock and though it was a simple tattoo, the artist, Johnny, was very enthusiastic about. I was a walk in and though he was busy at the time, it only took an hour after they wrote me down in the book to call me back and do them on the spot. It took and hour and a half I believe to finish them (wording and chains) and he even let me negotiate my price, which was much appriciated since I couldnt do too much at the time. He was a very friendly man and even had works he had done previously for others on his wall, as well as pictures of his wonderful family. After we were done, he gave me an instruction sheet on how to take care of them and answered any of my questions or doubts I had.*NOTE: make sure to follow the instructions on spot and listen to ANY suggestions he gives. Otherwise your tats will fade EXTREMELY fast. Because I work in fast food, I wash my hands and wrists frequently which resulted in fast fading. Im going back to him after four months with my chains.On a side note, Ive gone back to him to get my second tat done and was happy with it as well. I had to call quite a few times to get hold of him, however, if this is the case, ask to leave a name and number so he can get back to you. I wasnt impressed with the few times a female answered the phone, she was a bit rude and hung up before I could finish talking, but that just comes with the store I suppose. My second tattoo was of the godfather hand puppet and it looked and looks wonderful. Not a lot of people understand where its from, but thats okay. He was just as equally enthusiastic and even slightly concerned when I showed him my chain tattoos. He offers free touch ups, where as Ive seen a for parlors charge for them, so that was awesome. Im thinking of getting them done again soon. Often and only have I talked to Johnny, but Im sure that the rest of the tattoo team is as equally fabulous. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

My mom, sister and I were on vacation in Reno. We decided to get matching tattoos and walked in. They were able to get us in for 3 small flowers on our wrists. I have enough tattoos to know how it should feel and there was far too much pressure being applied. It didn’t look good after so I Figured maybe after it heals it would look okay. 1 year later and I’m scheduling with my usual artist to get it redone. It looks like it was done with colored pencil. It’s honestly embarrassing.

I visited Evolution Tattoo on June 30, 2014 to discuss getting a new tattoo and a touchup on an existing tattoo. The staff was very friendly and my appointment was scheduled on July 2, 2014 with Dave. Dave was very easy going, light handed, and professional. After going over the details of what I wanted my custom tattoo and touch up completely met my expectations. He went over the after care in detail and I left very happy. I was in Reno on business decided to get a permanent souvenir, I found Evolution Tattoo with great ease on Google maps and walked in one Sunday. With no appointment and no real plans as to what I wanted Dave was a true professional, after talking to him and letting him know that I want to eventually sleeve my arm, that I like stars, and I want something feminine he drew up this amazing shooting star! Out of my 9 tattoos this one is by far my favorite! The shop was very clean, the price was resonble and again Dave was a true professional!! Im planning a trip back very soon and am also planning on asking Dave to add to my sleeve and his amazing work!

I went here almost a year ago to get my first tattoo. I had an extremely pleasant and easy going experience. My tattoo artist was female at this time I cannot remember her name. Got exactly what I wanted at a decent price.

These tattoo guys like to play games with people. This is the second day in a row that I have been in Reno for 5 hours, and was put on the list to get my sons name tattooed on me. They told me it would be an hour, 5 hours later and 4 phone calls later, and the second time going into the shop, I got told they wouldn’t do my tattoo because they “didn’t have time to do it” but they let someone walk in before I came in the last time and are doing his tattoo instead. Never coming back, absolutely horrible experience.

Unfortunately I had traveled 3 hours to this studio from CA and was told the week prior that I did not need to make an appointment, fully aware of the Covid situation it caught me as odd but I took the artist word for it. When I arrived I was told we had needed to make an appointment & still turned away and had to figure it out on my own. Extremely unprofessional as I was told that the artist who took my phone call was “old school” and didn’t pay attention to the Covid restrictions. It was disappointing for my daughter who was getting her 1st tattoo as a birthday present. I will never give them my business again.

Amazing place. We are from out of town and we come to Johnny every time. Him, Dave and the red hair girl (sorry forget the name) took care of me and my Wife and went above the call of expectations and we couldnt be happier with Evo. You wont regret it.

I would rate the shop environment to be excellent, I have had all of my work done by Jon himself, he has done ambigram’s on both of my arms.. I am very pleased with all of the work that I have received, Jon is the only artist I will ever let put a needle in my skin, he is always able to squeeze me in on short notice. I would/ do...recommend this shop to any person seeking tattoo work, so if you’re in the Reno area and looking to get inked I promise this is the only shop worth going to.. well thank you for reading my review I really hope it was helpful :)

Here is my experience with Evolution Tattoo in Reno, NV. I met with an artist (who will remain nameless) a few times before my first scheduled session with him, I also gave the artist a folders worth of sketches, pictures and designs at least a month before this session. I got to Evolution Tattoo the day of my first appointment to find that the artist had not prepared any designs, and wanted to free hand draw the tattoo on me, which was a lengthy process. After getting to a design that worked, he only had time to tattoo the outline. He then charged me almost $400, I was promised that the high price for the first session was a deposit on the design time and would be put into the rest of the tattoo. After a few more visits and almost $1000.00 in the tattoo (which was not even to the halfway point), and numerous attempts to get a budget quoted. I finally confronted the artist about what I had been charged thus far. I told him at this rate it would cost over $2000.00 to finish the tattoo, he shrugged his shoulders and told me that I should just save up more and come back whenever I have money. I took that as very arrogant and and a refusal to work with me or make good on his promise about the design costs. Being that it is a free market, I decided to shop around, and get other opinions, every artist I talked to here in NV and even in NYC told me I should have not paid anymore than $5 to 600 dollars for what was done. After these findings, I decided to I try another artist, at another location, and was extremely pleased with the work, attitude, and price.This is where it gets interesting! Soon after getting work done by another artist, I was harassed and cursed off by my first artist at Evolution Tattoo (via Facebook and text messages). A couple of days later, after cooling off, I called Evolution Tattoo and asked to speak with the owner. He heard my story and proceeded to defend his artist for everything that had transpired, even for harassing me! In his defense, the owner did say that the artists harassment was unprofessional and told me that he would talk to the artist, but the owner also said that I have to realize that artists are very passionate about their work, and proceeded to justify his artists actions. The owner also did not try to rectify the situation, or even offer me anything to make me feel better, very bad business practices. I would not recommend Evolution Tattoo to anyone.

I got three piercings done by Adam. The piercings were done very smoothly and look perfect. Would definitely recommend him if you wanna get pierced.

I stupidly allowed Vienna- head piercer- to pierce my nose. it took 3 tries and every time it comes out, it has to be done again... but she does NOT stand by her work, she will not return phone calls and will not guarantee her work because shes aware of her problems with infectious piercings and unhappy clientele.I went to a prominent piercer in Sacramento to fix her error, and he assured me that her amateur status will only get her shop into problems with civil cases and such because of her inexperience.I cannot speak about the quality of tattoos but I can say that I wouldnt let her pierce my worst enemy for worries of the effects it may have...

I would not recommend this shop. I went in for a walk in. A very small tattoo that took 15 minutes. They charged me $120. And on top of that the artist destroyed the tattoo. Now the tattoo is practically gone and my skin is scared. Now I have to wait for it to completely heal and have it redone... definitely by a different artist.

For the past 35 years I had a vision of the perfect Taurus tattoo. I had searched tattoo parlors and the websites. Couldnt find anything that captured my vision. In 2014 on one of our frequent trips to the Peppermill in Reno. Me and my wife decided to stop in Evolution tattoo shop. We were greeted by friendly staff and the shop was very professional. Spoke with a staff member of what I wanted but was unable to express my vision. In December 2014 I found the perfect tattoo on the internet. Living in San Jose we searched tattoo parlors in San Jose, Milpitas, Fremont, Sunnyvale, Oakland, Fresno and Sacramento. Then me and my wife decided to wait till November 2015 for our next trip to Reno to visit Evolution. On our trip we stopped in and was greeted by Johnny. I showed him the picture of the Taurus and set up a appointment for the next day. Coming in the next day I was very impressed he had a stencil already prepared. While working on the tattoo we conversated about our families. Before I knew it he was done. I looked at it in the mirror and it brought a tear to my eye for he had far exceeded the vision I had for the past 35 years. I highly recommend Johnny. I also will be returning in February 2016 for my 25th wedding anniversary to renew our vows and will be getting a remembrance tattoo of my mothers passing.Thank you Johnny for exceeding my vision.

My daughter went to get a foot tatto last week and in a few days it got infected. She had to go to the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics.She went to the shop and let them know about the experience and was told that she must have been allergic to the dyes they use. She had another tatto done on the other foot in another shop in Reno about a year ago, and she never had any allergic reaction. I feel that the allergic explanation given by Evolution isnt satisfactorily at all. --- I would NOT reccomend this shop to anyone. ------Carlo Vitale
