I recently started going to Dark Star and have had an amazing experience each time. The owner, Kevin is such a nice guy with a welcoming demeanor, and all the employees are super chill and make great conversation as well. I’ve never felt like I was paying too much for a tattoo here and the prices don’t get any better than dark star. The artists ensure you understand exactly what youre getting. They give excellent recommendations, inform you about the healing process, and provide great insight on placement and more. Highly recommend this place for your next tattoo, piercing, or tooth gems!!!

I’ve been going to Darkstar Tattoo for a while now and the artists are so talented! Today I started a coverup tattoo and my artist was Kevin Owings. He did such an amazing job and really took the style of tattoos I am interested in, into consideration. He took his time and was very professional and considerate. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT so far and can’t wait to see the finished product! I will recommend this shop to anyone and everyone who is looking for artists that are passionate about their work! Thank you!

An amazing place! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Shop was extremely cleanly. We made an appointment for 1 pm and came a little early but our artist Bryan was already setting up and ready for us! There were two of us and we got small script tattoos, we were in and out of there in a little over an hour! It was a simple process and very professional. They gave us second skin bandages which make the healing process easy. Would come again!

Got a tattoo from Bryan. He did such an amazing job. Definitely going back to him. He is super talented and made me feel super comfortable during the whole process. He gave me super detailed after care instructions. I would recommend everyone to go to him at this shop!

I absolutely love dark star tattoos, I got my nose pierced again and some tattoos done. Jared did an amazing job I get so many compliments. Brian did my touch up on my butterflies, I absolutely love it.vi will never go to another tattoo shop again . Dark star is my forever go to, for piercings and all my tattoos. Kevin is amazing, Jared has the lightest touch, Brian is so polite and Quanna is the icing on the wonderful Dark star cake she brings you in an makes you feel comfortable. Came in for a price estimate, and will be coming in tomorrow to get the work done. These artists are some of the most welcoming, honest and kind people Ive met in the IE! They charge by the piece which is refreshing since most places take advantage of hourly pricing. Darkstar Tattoo is 1000% a no-brainer 1st choice for me! Ill make a 2nd review showing Bryans work when everythings done to show his proof of quality!P.SYUhNGQUEEN Anitas review is bs, that ink looks friggin dope. Eeryone else posting 5-star reviews and loving these peeps (myself included) shows that maybe the problem isnt Darkstar... Just my thoughts.

Didn’t have a great experience. I already spoke with them but have to show the outcome of it, it’s obvious that it’s not even and the line work is a mess on one side and these things are permanent. (Took the second skin off because I had so much liquid like never before I have over 10 tattoos and it has never done what this tattoo did it burned and itched really crazy) doesn’t really matter tho, the line work speaks for it’s self and I don’t appreciate people harassing my mother because of me leaving a comment on my experience, that’s not professional especially leaving a note to her that’s weird.

I had such a wonderful experience getting a tattoo at Darkstar. I reached out to Kevin about a design I wanted. I wanted to get a matching tattoo with my fiancee. He was quick to respond and it was so nice working with him to design my tattoo. He really listened to what I wanted and asked focused questions to further help the design process. It truly felt like I was working with a professional. When my fiancee and I came in to get our tattoo the first thing we noticed was how clean the shop was, which is really important for me. Then Kevin tattooed my fiancee and an artist named Jared did mine. We loved our tattoos and the experience. We cannot wait to come back to get more!

My friend and I checked this place out last month and had a good experience. It was sort of spontaneous so we came in last minute. We bonded with the owner over being from Chicago and got some really cool tats for amazing prices. They also give free touch-ups. I would definitely recommend!

I met Kevin Owings at a Tattoo expo a few months back, me & my wife talked to him for a bit and he told us about the shop he was opening in Riverside, Darkstar Tattoo. My daughter wanted to get some work done and she went in and get a piece done in memory of her daughter, my granddaughter. While me & my wife were sitting at the shop while my daughter was getting her tattoo done me & my wife got to sit down and talk to Kevin Owings about a piece I wanted to get done in memory of my granddaughter. I sent him some pictures and told him I him to come up with something original, the idea he came up with was even better than I imagined. Kevin Owings is a amazing artist and really cares about his clients and the pieces they are having done, he did a amazing job. I will definitely be going back to have more work done by him.

I’ve gotten most of my tattoos done by Kevin he’s amazing, I have darker skin so sometimes it’s difficult for the colors to show but Kevin always manages to make my tattoos perfect.

Me and my son have been getting tattoos done by Kevin and his team for a few years now. I have been to many shops over the years but have to say this one is the best. Kevin is a great artist and an awesome person. His team is very talented and I would never consider going anywhere else for my tattoos. It is rare to find a place where you feel taken care of but this is that place. Looking forward to getting more work done by Kevin.

In the 12 years I’ve known Kevin and been tattooed by him he’s always had me leaving happy with the work I have all over my body. Super funny, easy going, and awesome to be around I highly recommend getting tattooed by him or anyone at his shop! Chris is also a very good artist and definitely would get tattooed by him!

First time getting a tattoo, and Kevin was extremely helpful. There was no rushing during the process and was very friendly. All around solid dude.The shop itself was very clean, comfortable, and welcoming to all walks of life. The waiting area was comfortable with nice couches, a place to put your beverage and a nice water cooler! You can bet I was put at ease.The artwork done on my arm was just amazing! It was everything i was looking for in a first tattoo experience. We really just talked back and forth through the whole session and it was finished before i knew it. Paying was nice and easy too. Hopped on Zelle and just sent the money. Easy as pie.Great place, with great people and my new go to place for tattoo work.

I came here for the first time today, and Steph did the most amazing job! She was so sweet and personable and made me feel so comfortable. The tattoos turned out even better than I could imagine. Driving by and decided to check it out. First thing I noticed is how clean this place is. The stations are all organized and sanitized. The vibe here is awesome. The wall art is a must see. The owner Kevin is really knowledgeable and informative about what to expect before and after getting any work done. Got all my work done by K.O have been pretty dam happy with my art and the experience. He’s only gotten more knowledgeable and experienced with his techniques and even the the team of artists he’s hired. I was going to give 4 stars just cause he isn’t much to look at but it’s really a 5 star place with 5 star service.

He is responsible for the brand and merch being as successful as it is. This has been over the past 2 decades and you can check THOUSANDS of examples of his work through social media. The catalog is endless. Aside from all that, Kevin is a family man and sure to make you laugh. Thats a promise 🤣👍. I have gotten several tattoos from DarkStar Tattoo owner Kevin. First of all, Kevin is not just a tremendous artist, he is a solid, thoughtful guy who really enjoys his work & his clients. Kevin did a BIG cover up for me that was a long time coming. I had been searching a looooong time for the right guy to do this & when I met Kevin, he took the time to listen to my story, my ‘bad decision’ which led to a tattoo that haunted me everytime looked at it. After listening to me, Kevin explained what we could do to cover it up, he drew it out & I was sold! Tremendous job! Can’t even tell it’s a cover up. This led to two more cover ups & ultimately a full sleeve on my right arm that I get compliments on everywhere I go. The colors are deep, bright & the overall concept of the sleeve came from Kevin in response to him LISTENING & hearing me. He is intuitive in the way he just knew what I wanted. Kevin also works very efficiently. I am blown away by his work ethic & process. We’ve started a left arm sleeve that is going great so far & is unique. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out. If you’re looking for a new tattoo, need a cover up, a small piece, a sleeve, whatever, Kevin & his crew are your destination!

I cant believe Kevin is in California! I got my first tattoo done by him when I went to illinois and I still love it to this day. I get compliments about it from others and it feels good to know my first piece came out really well. Kevin really took his time talking it out and making sure that I got exactly what I wanted. He also gave his recomendation in terms of size and placement which felt reassuring. Ive been following him on Instagram as a fan but now that hes in Cali Im excited to get another piece done by him.
