We took our daughters here to get their ears pierced for the first time. The entire staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful during the entire process. The girls got their ears done by Samantha and she was incredible! Save time, skip Claires and come to The Exotic Body.

This is one of the best piercing and tattoo places in downtown Sacramento. Theyve also been around since the 90s. I went there to get a piercing. I got a UFO piercing AKA an orbital piercing to commemorate my 18 years, sobriety from alcohol. Customer service was top-notch... I highly recommend going there for any of your piercing and tattoo needs. You must call or make an appointment online for all services there, by appointments only. When I got pierced, I saw Samantha. Shes normally there on Tuesdays and Fridays. Amazing piercer she was calm and walked me through everything, how to recommend her but honestly everybody in that shop it good.

We had our 7 month old baby’s ears pierced by the owner Michael and it was such a great experience! I was searching online for a place to have her ears pierced by a professional who also has experience with infants and I’m so glad I chose Exotic Body! Very clean, professional environment with a big selection of quality jewelry to choose from. Bring your baby here (:

Definitely coming back for all my piercings! First impression upon entering the facility, my brain went, CLEAN. The place was spotless, the display cases glowed and their jewelry selection was beautiful. The person at the front desk was so polite, and their makeup was on fleek as the cool kids say. Me and three friends all came in for piercings on appointment and they took care of us rapidly and practiced amazing aseptic technique.

Loved this location and most definitely gona recommend and come back! I was very surprised and excited to see the wide variety of jewelry they have to choose from! Was very please and happy with Samantha, she was very informative in regards to caring for the piercing very quick and gentle didn’t even hurt! we did a dermal anchor but got home and wanted more lol so I booked another appointment to ger another one, very professional and clean and she made me feel very comfortable 🥰 thank you so much! Also the front desk woman was very helpful too very friendly and informative regarding payment and after care as well. Definitely loved the environment and will be recommending to people! Exceptional customer service for sure!!

My teen daughter got her ears pierced today and the experience was so lovely! Incredibly tidy, lots of beautiful jewelry to choose from, and everyone who works there is incredibly kind and helpful. My daughter is super happy and felt heard, she was very nervous during the appt but was raving about her experience when we got in the car! Absolutely will be recommending them to everyone! I’ve seen Kayla a few times now and each time she is the best! Always takes her time when I’m choosing jewelry and is so quick to help with any questions on my piercings. Couldn’t be happier going there!! 🩷

This is my 3rd visit here. Last time was for my teens nostril. This time is was for her belly button. Everyone Ive ever come across here is so nice. And they carry unique beautiful jewelry. Id totally get stretched just to be able to wear some of the things Ive seen here.Edit to add: Samantha is my fave piercer. I came again, this time with my mom and we got our septums pierced. NO PAIN, SHES THAT GOOD, YALL! She also did my nippies about 2 yrs ago.

Michael is hilarious, Samantha has the touch of an angel, and Kayla is the sweetest. All the piercings I got here (nostril, tragus, rook) were painless and never got infected. Only Michael and Samantha have pierced me, but I prefer to have Kayla downsize or switch out my jewelry because she’s fast and gentle. Booking online is a breeze, too. Their services and prices are all laid out so there are no surprises.

Michaels and Samanthas expertise is present in all that they do. I have gotten a nipple, philtrum (twice), a second lobe, and septum piercing here.A septum ring through a local brand pupil had a chain on it that broke and they were able to work back with the designer of Pupil Hall to get it replaced/repaired.

Samantha was awesome! She took the time to review the pieces of jewelry with me first and discuss style too before we even pierced. I didnt know that you could get pierced with other jewelery so it was so cool to see the gold pieces available.I picked out a cute CZ clicker for my septum and we got down to business. We were in and out in about 25 mins.Thank you! I love it!!

All I have to say is you pay for what you get. Worth every penny! Wish I was able to actually spend more. I know the piercings I received will heal excellently (Flat and Daith piercing). For me personally, it was painless. Depends on your pain tolerance.As for my 1st time visit, Mike is a business man, knowledgeable and most definitely experienced-31 years baby!I absolutely LOVE and APPRECIATE how clean the whole place is. Samantha was amazing, kind, patient, and very skilled! Went in for a nostril piercing... The process was so smooth, and it looks great! Im from Chicago, but I would wait until my next trip to Sac if I decided to get another piercing. I had a great experience! Highly recommend!

I have used this shop for all of my piercings. I have never once felt talked down to or patronized. If you think its rude for the piercer to ask you not to touch your piercings in the shop, then you just dont realize how sterile they have to keep it. Michael Samantha and Pablo have always been sweet to me and mine, so I cant picture anyone mistreating anyone.

The shop is very clean and well put together. Mike was absolutely phenomenal with our 4 month old baby girl and very informative. Once she was prepped and swaddled the procedure only took a few short minutes. There was only a brief spurt of tears (as each side is done seperately)until I was able to BF and comfort her; then it was nothing but smiles. She hasnt fussed or cried another tear since. We will definitely be returning for our teens helix piercing. Thanks again Mike!

I took my daughter (15) to get her first piercing. She decided to go with a septum piercing. Samantha was so amazing. Answered all our questions and explained the aftercare. The whole appointment was a wonderful experience.

Great place to get pierced, purchase jewelry and have it installed.Two stars because Sam, the owner, has an off putting personality.The shop assistant was kind and helped me during my jewelry selection, after Sam had walked away during my appointment. After I bought my jewelry ($400 for three pieces), Sam brought me to the back where she said “well hopefully these fit you.” Um.. yeah for $400 they better? If fit was a concern, why didn’t you help me during the selection process? Thankfully they fit, but it left a poor taste in my mouth.I’d rather go to Chief piercing

5 stars across the board! Booked an appointment for a tongue piercing with Samantha and she did not disappoint! I experienced no pain (I have a low pain tolerance) and Samantha walked me through each step along the way. She has a positive attitude and gets you in and out!

2024 I just got pierced again by Mike. Great experience! I really have to commit to the care routine better than I did last time so they dont reject. I to read their rules so there were no surprises.2022 Four days ago I was pierced by Mike (again) and the healing has been flawless. I got a piercing on each cheek bone. There was mild pain and discomfort during the piercing, but none afterwards. They stung a little for the first day or two if I bumped them, but now there is no pain at all- probably because I followed the after care instructions.I will always be pierced by The Exotic Body- Thanks, Mike!The Piercing Apprentice Kayla was also lovely to work with!*10 days in, now, and the healing is going exceedingly well. No pain when I touch them at all, tho I avoid doing so.

I got my conch and a lobe piercing done 2 weeks ago by Michael. It was a great experience and really showed me how much the quality of your piercer and jewelry makes a difference. Aftercare has been a breeze. Way less swelling, bruising, and pain than my previous piercings, which I attribute to Michaels expertise 😉

Had SteveO tattoo me and my girlfriend. This is her 4th and my 1st. We had to reschedule a few times due to work and he was completely understanding. He was super nice, very professional and did excellent work. Hers took about 2 hours with all the color and mine took i believe under an hour. I would recommend anyone interested to take a look at his bio on the website, this is how we found him and why we decided to go here. Before we left he went over care instructions with me and was very helpful.

Great piercing shop. Samantha did my nipple piercings today and I had a lot of anxiety pre-piercing, but it was a calming and reassuring environment, she was also very sweet and professional and it went well. Very very clean environment. Only downside might be for some people that it’s expensive, but the jewelry is great quality and the service very professional.

I wanted to come in and buy jewelry for a standard-size earlobe piercing, the person answering the phone said they didnt know sizing, said they werent a piercer but made no effort to ask a piercer or someone more knowledgeable. They said I needed to make an appointment which was over an hraway to come in for what would be less than 10 minutes and I was around the corner. They just arent very helpful

I took my 4 month old daughter in for her ears and Michael was absolutely amazing! He took time to show me what we were going to do before as well as what i need to do for aftercare and the best ways to comfort my baby, Michael was quick and steady handed! This place used to be good when Lisa worked here. She was kind and she was on top of educating us about aftercare. Ive come here for [three septum piercings, two with Lisa and one with a shorter white girl who was also so nice that I bought her donuts afterward] and then I came back for a consultation once after I got my philtrum pierced in Humboldt a year ago to ask if it was healing right. I come in and Michael Hare is there and as soon as I open my mouth with questions, he fired back condescending answers. I chalked it up to him being cranky and quirky and never mentioned it to anyone. I came back two days ago with some friends and wow thats his actual personality. Not only was his attitude patronizing and he made some fatphobic remarks to my friend... he pierces her belly button SO CROOKED. I mean... you cant brag about doing this for 12 years and do work like this. Pictures shown below. She paid $120 for this.

Went here to get my eyebrows pierced by Samantha. She was awesome. Loved her energy she was super accommodating and meticulous when it came to placement and I’m so happy with my piercings. I’ll definitely be back for more piercings.

I got my Snake Bites (double labrets, lower lip) pierced here on January 6th of this year, and I had a lovely time here during my consultation and piercing with Samantha!The building itself is very clean, and the facilities are well-organized. I felt safe and secure while being pierced, and Samantha was lovely to speak to during the process.It slipped my mind to write a review until now, but I figured I should! I will be returning someday in the future to hopefully get more piercings.

My friend and I had Samantha as a piercer and she was absolutely amazing! She pierced quickly and was pinpoint accurate. I got a navel piercing here a little under 2 years ago. Everyone was friendly and the place seemed clean and nice. However, they had red flags. First, they sold me an expensive final piece of jewelry before checking my anatomy or doing the piercing (Normally piercers have a temporary piece that compensates for swelling and healing). Second, they never checked how my stomach folds. The piercer (Samantha) gushed about how I have a perfect navel for a piercing but failed to check whether the expensive navel jewelry would work when Im seated. Surprise, it didnt. I spent two weeks laying on my back in order to keep my navel as open as possible since every time I moved the bottom piece of the jewelry would be far into my navel and not visible. I started doing research and found I should have been pierced with a floating piercing. I went in for another appointment and Samantha was way less bubbly and seemed nervous. She called in her boss (Michael) to look, and he suggested a J-piece of jewelry. I had to suggest the floating piece, and they both agreed that could work too. They had everything they needed for a floating piercing and it would have cost me significantly less money, time, and pain. The initial jewelry was very expensive and I feel completely scammed as I am unable to use it. In addition to that the piercing was pierced way too shallow and rejected within a few months. It was painful the entirety of the time I had it. I now have a scar and another piercing done by someone else with proper first jewelry, proper placement, and no pain. This places main prerogative is selling overpriced jewelry. They dont care about the wellbeing of their customers.

I took my 9yo daughter at the recommendation of my 21yo daughter although she has never been there.If you watched Friends you would know what I mean when I say Monica clean! This place was 150% cleaner than Monica clean. My doctor’s or dentist’s office is not as clean as The Exotic Body place. Squeaky clean everywhere!My daughter was seen by Michael. It was her first piercing ever and she was very nervous! I was very nervous too. We had to postpone the visit couple of times because she would change her mind because of how afraid she was to have her ears pierced. Once in that chair in front of Michael, my daughter forgot about pain. Michael has a way with dealing with young customers. He started talking to her about her job and her favorite color and other very effective small talk. When my daughter turned to me I thought she wanted me to see her before the piercing started but she looked at me because her piercing was done. I did not even notice when and how that happened. When we left, I looked at her ears to make sure they are pierced. That is how fast it happened. I believe it is all because of how professional and kind and fun and nice Michael was.One more thing. If Michael ever decides to change jobs, he should become an elementary school teacher. His students would do homework without knowing they are doing homework!Thank you, Michael and all your very nice staff!

I’ve gone to Exotic Body twice now for piercings. The first was with my Mom, we went to get her nose pierced, which is one shes wanted for a while—the second with my best friend to get her lip. I got one nostril at each appointment. Both of them were very nervous, but Michael did a stellar job putting them at ease with some jokes & quick pokes lol I’m going back with my mom for some jewelry insertion later today, which is what reminded me to finally leave the review I’ve been meaning to for months now! The front desk service is also excellent. Exotic is all around a solid shop🤙🏼

Fantastic experience! Making an appointment was easy and they had plenty of weekend and evening availability. Theres lots of street parking nearby, so no difficulties there, either. I was super impressed with their COVID protocols--masks in the shop, I had my temperature checked when I arrived, social distancing, plenty of hand sanitizer and the space was sparkling clean. I got pierced by Mike and hes clearly very experienced and professional. The front desk staff and apprentice there--whose names I unfortunately didnt catch!--were also extremely nice and knowledgeable. I would happily come back here in the future if I want more piercings. This place was wonderful!

My daughter and I both got our ear lobes pierced by Kayla at The Exotic Body. It was a great experience, Kayla was patient and explained the process carefully and we are both healing up nicely. Definitely recommend and will be back when my younger daughter is ready.

The staff here are highly professional, helpful and friendly. You have to book an appointment before going to this shop. The business strictly follows Covid-19 protocols so make sure you bring a mask! The collection of jewelry is amazing and they always properly sterilize things before piercing. Cash is preferred when paying but if you don’t have that on hand there is a small fee for processing cards.

Fast, friendly, efficient and sanitary service. They were extremely helpful and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. I couldnt decide what I wanted so I ended up getting two piercings. They were accommodating, because I believe my friend told them we were all getting one piercing each. The technician I had was fast and the piercings didnt hurt...too much. The septum was a doozy. Lol I would definitely go back for another piercing.

I took my little girl here to get her ears pierced shes 4 months old. Michael took great care to make sure she was safe and the procedure was quick. It was more pricey than I expected but for me it was worth it knowing her piercing was done by a professional.

Everyone was very professional. I felt very safe because masks were required for all clients and employees. And very comfortable since they asked for pronouns and preferred names. The jewelry is pricy, but very high quality, and I know that if it ever gets damaged I can bring it in to be repaired free. All their jewelry is also made with high quality materials that wont tarnish, flake, or cause allergic reactions. They do run a tight ship though, so be sure to book an appointment on their website since they only do appointments and no walkins. This was my first time going to a professional to get pierced and I felt very comfortable. Ill for sure be going back if I ever want a new jewelry piece or if I decide to get another piercing.

I’ve been to a couple studios in east bay+ north cal and the exotic body is definitely one of my favorites. All my favorite jewelry pieces were bought here. Great covid practices/appointment system.I see Samantha every time I go, she’s great. The front desk/apprentice is also super sweet, need to catch her name next time!

Another shop in Davis recommended this place to get my daughter’s ears pierced. We were in the area after going to the Sac Zoo so we stopped by the afternoon of 7 Aug. We were greeted at the door by a woman who said they were appointment only, but that they had appointments later that evening and I could go online to schedule for a few hours later. She then rudely shut the door on us! I stood outside searching for an appointment and couldn’t find one, so I rang the bell again. The same lady answered very annoyed and rolling her eyes. I explained I couldn’t find the appointment she spoke of and she said, “well, what you see is what we have.” I then confronted her on how rude she was acting towards us who were looking forward to receiving a service there, but after that treatment wouldnt be back. She apologized and then shut the door again. I respect that they are appointment only, but treat people with some respect and common courtesy!! If this place is as great as I hear it is, unfortunately I’ll never know for myself because of this rude encounter. The owner needs to check this woman who I see has done this to others based on reviews here and on Yelp. Her bad vibes and attitude is hurting your business!!

This parlor is top notch. Their online system to book appointments makes things super easy, and their incredible selection of body jewelry ensures you will not go home disappointed.Their cabinets are appointed with multiple tiers of every type of jewelry you could image, of every price point. The staff is attentive, polite, professional and ensure absolute cleanliness.

Mike pierced my infant daughters ears, Im a returning customer for more than 14 years several piercings and tattoos later, slightly upset at the guy working the counter insisting that I leave my purse out front saying i wasnt able to take with me.(even after seeing other customers with their purses in the 1st room)He was slightly rude. Couldve given me a replacement ball to my barbell free, but was still charged... all is well tho.

Samantha is the best piercer Ive ever been to. She is very skilled and comforting and helped me to relax during my navel piercing. Even though I had scar tissue from previous piercing, I didnt feel the needle at all! She is so talented and such a sweetheart; will definitely be coming back again to see her!

I loved my experience at The Exotic Body!! I went in to get my second ear lobe piercing that I had been wanting for the past year. I was a bit nervous in getting the piercing just because ears pierced I got a huge infection and the overall experience was not a good one. I was nervous going to The Exotic Body because I was afraid that something bad would happen and I would get another infection. However, my whole experience was absolutely AMAZING!! When I got there, the front desk lady Bailey, was so nice and made me feel so welcomed. And then when I got called into the back, I was a bit nervous, but the woman that pierced my ears, Sam, was absolutely flawless. She made me feel so comfortable and went through the whole process with me step by step. I have had the piercings for about a week and a half now and I love them so much! I would recommend to anyone The Exotic Body and to ask for Sam because she is so great!! :-) :-)

I was impressed not only with my piercing experience, but also with the care Mike took in making the environment sanitized and safe. I personally have been cautious about visiting in-house businesses since the pandemic hit, but I felt very comfortable there. Great experience and Ill definitely be back.

Just got a piercing today and I couldn’t be happier!! Michael was so nice and made the whole experience calming and relaxing. I went with a friend who also got one and although we waited for a while, it was just fine because we knew we were getting quality care and attention and not just a rushed, sloppy job.

Went in for a nostril piercing on each side of my nose. I had gotten my ear pierced here and it looks great, so I decided to come here again. I booked whoever was available for my time slot, and Michael Hare ended up being the one to do the piercing. The process was very sanitary, quick, and I felt very listened to in regards to what I wanted. I explained that my nose is a bit crooked, so I wasnt sure if Id even be able to get the piercing I wanted considering it may not look good. But Michael assured me that the piercing would work out great, and that I can achieve the symmetrical look even with an asymmetrical face. I couldnt be happier with the result! It turned out just how I wanted. Plus, the healing process has been seamless - essentially no swelling, bleeding, infection, etc. Cant wait to get more work done here in the future. Thanks Michael!

I have never had a piercing. I was nervous, but my friend highly recommended this shop. I couldn’t have been happier. Samantha was amazing! Made me feel at ease and I was super impressed with the cleanliness of the place. It felt so sterile as if being in a doctors office. Definitely a 5 Star!!!

I recently went in to Michael and got my nipples done. It was quick, and did not hurt as much as thought it would. Would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is looking at getting any piercings done. They were clean, sanitized, and helpful with any questions I had. If your thinking about going to a different piecer because of price. Remember that quality jewelry is better in the long run. If you cheap out on jewelry you are opening your self up to issues later on. I willBe going back for my next piercings.

I don’t have alot of experience with Piercing shops but my time spent at The Exotic Body was very pleasant. I had called / emailed around to other shops in the area and didn’t find any of them to be as attentive & timely in their responses & professionalism on the phone when asking questions. Michael has a well oiled machine and a fantastic staff working for him who pay close attention to detail. Yes, as others have mentioned their prices are a bit higher than the competition but you get what you pay for and with a piercer putting a foreign object in your skin you want this attention to detail. I parked by the McKinley Rose Garden and walked over to the shop from there. I was a few mins early for my appt, but greeted promptly by the sweet front desk gal (Sorry I can’t remember her name) & Stephanie my piercer. Stephanie whisked me away to the consultation room to pick my Jewelry, then back up front to sign forms, explained the aftercare process and pay while the jewelry was being sterilized. Shortly after I was taken back by Stephanie for the procedure. She was courteous and worked quickly & professionally with the pain kept as minimal as it could be, easier than a trip to the Dentist. All in all I was In & Out of there in 25mins and got the bonus of relaxing in the Rose Garden on the way back to the car. My piercings are healing really well and healing pain & crusties have been very minimal. If I was in the area again and looking for a piercing I’d be sure to go back and see Stephanie & the team at the Exotic Body. It’s a No Brainer.

First time in, got a pair of cartilage piercings. Nice selection of jewelry. The piercing room was full of sunlight and very comfortable, and my piercer, Samantha, was funny and chill. That and her 13 years experience made for a nice visit. Ill be back.There is a $5 fee for paying with a card. They said cash was the other option so I guess Ill have to remember to bring some next time.Update 2/2020: Went back to get help with a troubled piercing and the young guy said I needed to keep it cleaner and it would heal. It had already been a year. Came back two weeks later and he said I needed a longer post and I shouldnt have waited so long to get help. Annoying.

You have to pay to make an appointment and its appointments only. They didnt even know they had an appointment when I got there.. I got my first piercing here and it was a horrible experience. I got my piercing done by Samantha. I think thats her name. Her vibes were off, like she didnt want to be there or she was having a bad morning. It happens, but thats no reason to take it out on me. Because it was my first, I was nervous and having regrets, she told me how I wasted her time, and effort for making her set up. I know I wasnt the best customer for being fickle, but pushing me to modify my body while I was anxious was wrong of her. Anyways it was clean, unprofessional, and over priced. Would not recommend it. If you want to find a good, clean, professional, affordable piercing place, go the the Old Monk in the Roseville Galleria. They accept walk ins and do dermals.

I went to The Exotic Body today to have my nipple pierced for the second time. The entire shop is clean and safe. Samantha was my piercer and she was absolutely amazing. Extremely thoughtful, kind, and talented. I could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you! I will be back for future piercings.

Took baby girl to get her ears pierced. Very knowledgeable about their products and very professional. These guys are fantastic and very skilled. It was hard watching baby girl getting her ears pierced (My wife and I cried more than my baby girl) and it’s very hard to find someone to trust with your baby but they did a great job, had fantastic sterile technique, and I highly recommend them. Priced very well considering they give surgical-grade titanium with Swarovski diamond product. Especially for your little girl, you always want the best and I’m glad I found this spot.

This place is amazing! I got my nose pierced here today and my piercer was Samantha. She did an incredible job! Such a nice caring person and was very gentle and made me feel so comfortable. I would highly recommend this place! Very clean and fantastic environment and employees!

This place is very professional, I used them for an industrial piercing 6 years ago and they were the first people I thought of for my nose piercing. I had done it myself with a safety pin when I was younger but had let it heal, so there was some scar tissue but Mike did a really great job. It was quick and the pain was minimal, and it was exactly how I wanted it. They explained aftercare for me and asked if I had any questions, and the healing is going well. The only thing I dislike about this shop is that every time Ive been here theyve tried to up-sell me on the jewelry, and they push pretty hard even after youve said no once. If you can stand your ground though, this is definitely the shop to use!

Was pretty annoyed when I drove all the way down there only to find out that it was appointment only. It says so on their website, but I only looked on the Google page which says they are open from now until 7 PM.

Great customer service, felt covid safe and very chill vibes. The jewelry for my septum was gold and a little pricey, expect to pay a few hundred for gold rings. Regardless, felt very comfortable and safe.

My husband and I took our 4 month old daughter to get her ears pierced. Michael helped us and talked us through the process and was very gentle with our baby. We are glad we found a great place!

Decided to get my tongue pierced here after a recommendation from a friend that got his done at this location. Pablo was super friendly, knew what he was talking about, and got the job done with quality jewelry for a really solid price. I do recommend that you BRING CASH as they have a fee for using a card and their ATM doesn’t allow you to withdraw the appropriate amount of money (my piercing was around $62 after tax and it only let me pull out $60-80). I’ve never bothered to leave a review before either, so hopefully that shows you how pleased I was with this shop. I don’t see any reason to look into any other shops if you’re looking for a quick and easy piercing at a good price. A+

Previous to Exotic Body, I had gone to Claires for ear piercings and the experience is not forgotten, comparisons I dont really draw because its apples and oranges.Anyway, this review is meant for the staff not for customers. If you are looking for some reason to come here, scratch that and just come to check it out and build your own opinion of the place.I like the people: they are authentic, know where the professional boundary lies and treated me with dignity. I felt that the whole process of getting my spider bite was an autonomous one; I didnt feel like a commission sale, or a child (P.S. you cannot feel inferior without self consent). So what I am saying is, I had a good experience: I followed after care instructions and any time I had questions about getting my jewelry put back in, they did it for free. It was awesome. I felt well-taken care of and all along the way, the staff were a team. I couldnt have asked for a better batch of human beings to help me with my first facial piercing. :)

Beautiful place, clean, and friendly. Very personable. Helped my friend put her conch piercing back in. VERY VERY expensive, but the pieces are so beautiful and unique, its worth it for most to spend the extra (think $200-$700 for the jewelry alone) money. I believe its justified because of the quality of the pieces and the security knowing theyre warrantied against defects. Beautiful lobby. They have a nest thermostat which to me showed theyre tech savvy, had an ATM right in the store, and what looked like a garden out back. Really chill environment.

This is possibly the worst piercing/tattoo shop I have ever been in customer service wise. Every visit Ive had the employees have never really been pleasant. But during my last visit their employee with the butterfly tattoo on her cheek had asked if we needed help and I let her know that we were just browsing. She offered to show us more jewelry in the back so we followed her to the back room where she had asked to check my tunnel size. So I had taken my tunnel out to give her so she could check. She rudely advised that they dont want you to touch your ears and touch their doors. If she would have politely told me prior that she would remove my tunnel with gloves on her hands I would not have removed it myself. After she had removed my plug she then told me to wash my hands in a rude tone as well. I apologized and washed my hands. Then after she had pulled a few plug options from the back to show me I had decided I wanted to wait a little longer to buy my next size. She at that point mumbled under her breathe seriously...? Confused I said yes? because I had told her I was just browsing in the main room. Then she stated that she pulled all these options out for me and was very rude just because I didnt want to buy something right that second. She gave my tunnel back to me in the baggy she was holding it in. She then went straight to helping my girlfriend look for a new septum ring. She had not offered to put my tunnel back in. After sitting for a second, waiting, I finally decided Im going to put my tunnel in myself so I grabbed a glove from the box on the wall to use since they dont want you to touch your ears. She then rudely said Oh. You want your plug back? I didnt know they didnt want customers touching their ears. Again if they would have stated that I would have gladly let her put my tunnel in my ear. But when she did put my tunnel back in my ear she was very rough with my ear and seemed angry as she put it in my ear and surprisingly made my ear hurt. Which isnt something that happens when I take my plugs in and out of my ears when cleaning them.Then she told me I could wait for my girlfriend out in the front.My girlfriend had let me know that she was super nice to her throughout helping her. But thinks that she was extremely rude to me and that it was unwarranted.I will never go back to The Exotic Body, nor will I recommend this shop to anyone ever again.Try Chief Piercing located downtown. Theyre just as clean and have a great jewelry selection except the customer service is 100% better than here.

Walked through the door to a perfectly clean parlor with lovely receptionist, Marissa. Jewelry was beautiful and the piercer, Samantha, was very efficient and skilled, but when my friend started to have second thoughts she began to behave unprofessionally and pressure her to still get the piercing. Samantha bullied my friend by ordering her to get on the table multiple times and saying in an annoyed tone that she “wasted her tools” if she were to back out. Would have given 5 stars if she hadn’t acted so childish and unprofessional.

I got my septum pierced with Samantha Kodani and she was incredible! Very quick, thorough, clean, and kind. This was easily the most professional place Ive ever been to and intend on returning in the future.

After reviewing The Exotic Body online, I went in yesterday to have two piercings done. Im so glad I chose this place, theyre a very well-run shop and were very knowledgeable. They were really busy (Friday afternoon, not a surprise at all), but attended to every customer in a timely manner without seeming rushed. My piercer Samantha was very professional, she talked me through the entire process while she was doing everything, which put me at ease and made dealing with the pain a little easier. On the way out the woman at the front desk talked with me about aftercare and told me to call if I needed anything instead of trying to internet search it on my own. I actually did end up calling her a few hours later with another aftercare question, and she gave me all the information I needed.I would definitely recommend this shop for piercings.

I loved Michael and the shop, it is amazingly well taken care of and they have a beautiful selection of jewelry. The piercing was absolutely flawless and the environment is one of the most professionally clean and sterilized Ive been in. I have 3 complaints and those are why I didnt give them 5 stars. The first is out of their control, but parking was hard to find. The second is the girl working behind the counter. She had a really off putting demeanor and just her whole vibe was dismissive and aloof. Third, the pricing. Two upper ear cartilage piercings, with jewelry, was well over $300. I know that the upkeep of the shop, bills, equipment and jewelry pieces play huge into cost, but I was floored that it was that much. That being said, Id go back every time because of our piercer and his skills, personality and excellent work.

Impressed with how clean the place was. Temp check at the door with mask made us feel safe the entire time. Best part was how GREAT Michael was with my little girl. When she got nervous he calmed her down and walked her through the whole thing. Will never go anywhere else, great job!!!! Thank you so much

Ive gotten 4 out of my 5 piercings here and when friends ask me about where to get a piercing this is always the place I recommend. There are a few good shops in the area but The Exotic Body still stands out from the rest thanks to level of experience & profesionalism the staff have.The owner can come across as a bit no-nonsense at times which I think can be off-putting to some people, but from my perspective its really a good thing. The staff are all positive people with a good sense of humor, they just have a preference for responsible nonsense. Which is what you want from someone whos about to stab a needle through part of your body.Its clear that the owner, and all the staff, not only love what they do but take it seriously. They understand that the art forms they practice create a permanent change to their clients bodies & come with risks, and because they understand this they make sure that everythings done right.The place is always clean, they have ideal sterilization practices, they teach you about aftercare, they advocate the use of safe jewlery materials & design, and they help their customers to make informed decisions and get through the piercing process as easily & painlessly as possible.It is a little more expensive than other shops in the area, but not by a lot. In my opinion its worth it for the quality & sense of security you get by going to such a top notch place. I trust the staff here and have always had positive experiences with them.Ive had piercings done here by both Samantha & Mike. Sam did my tongue piercing and my helix piercing & Mike did both of my genital piercings. They both did a fantastic job and (obviously) made a repeat customer out of me. Ill be going back here when its time for my next piercing, and I recommend that anyone else whos looking to get a piercing choose The Exotic Body as well.

I love this place!! The vibe is great and so relaxing! It is Immaculately clean!! They are the only place in Sacramento that is part of the PPA which is so important when you are getting pierced. The staff is so friendly and reassuring!!! I just got my verticle hood piercing, and Sam was awesome!! Super knowledgeable, she explained everything to me perfectly!! I could not be happier!! This place is strange. You can’t walk in at all so they always look closed. That’s because they’re very intense about security and safety. That’s not the issue I have with their service. When you call no one answers the phone, and if you leave a message you get a text back that says to go to their website to book an appointment. I am really not a fan of automated messaging systems especially because I know someone works the front desk during their operation hours. Also, Google “open/close” times are inaccurate.. use their website and book an appointment to see their actual hours each day.

Been here in the past for tattoos and came back this time just to check out jewelry, I knocked on the door and the lady answered rudely like I was knocking on her bedroom window, I asked if I could check out the jewelry selection and she rudely blocked the door and said I needed to get online and make an appointment for that. I said ok thank you and turned to walk away then I heard the door SLAM! Just as I started to walk. Goodness gracious!! Now Ill never be back and I will DEFINITELY tell all my friends not to go back either.. Thanks!!!

Max was a champ and handled a today or clients during mothers day. Was super efficient and polite to my gf who was getting pierced. She was so happy with her philtrum piece by the end. Worth every penny.

Hubby and I took our 17 year old in for a nose ring re-piercing (3rd time) and were going to get our 5 month old her ears pierced because I saw a review on here from 8 months ago saying they pierced their infants ears. Figured weve been here a few times and they were nice. This time the lady behind the counter seemed aggravated we brought our infant in and immediately said NOPE! That baby cannot be in here! The sign on the door says nobody under 14!!Im curious to know if the rules have changed in the past 8 months but either way...she was so rude, we wont be back.

I had the worst experience here at first it was fine. Mike looked like he was knowledgeable. Explained why I should and could only have a j curve belly ring and all this stuff and it made since at first. He never went over the healing process or cleaning process had to buy my own cleaning solution which was only $3 so wasnt bad. if it wasnt for the sweetest reception lady there. (Never got her name) giving me a aftercare pamphlet I would have been screwed. after all that He told me the price of the ring ($80+) all together my total was over $120 because of this j curve ring. Which because I wanted it so bad and had the guts to do it said okay lets do it not thinking I should look more into it. He mark the placement with me standing had me lay on the table not showing me where it was going to be placed and did the piercing. He was not gentle AT ALL I told him I was afraid of needle but really wanted to do this. Now we had already said and I already knew that my belly button is in an odd position so it might look a little strange. But it shouldnt look bad or off center.... boy was I wrong!!!! It was waaaaaay off center to much to the right, Was not straight was pieced sideway did not look ok. And no it was not because of the position of my bellybutton. Not only way the piercing terrible. But he was beyond rude to my friend that was with me who was getting her nose pierced by Mike also. Thankfully I contacted another piercer who told me to take it out and in a few weeks when its fully healed she will happily fix it for me at a great price. Thank you to her. But now I just spend $140 on a piercing that I had to take out because it was not good at all and will never be going there again. All that money down the drain. I gave him an $19 tip which I should not have tipped him at all but since I wanted to pay in advance and had no cash on me used my card. I just wish I could get a refund for this horrible piercing. Will NEVER recommend this place to anyone!! Do not come here at lest to Mike!!!!!

I did piercing with Mike. He absolutely did not take into account the features of my body that were known to him and made the piercing in such a way that limited the ability to wear a ring of a smaller and more convenient diameter. And this is very strange given the vast experience of his work.

The staff isnt especially friendly or helpful in answering questions, including the piercer I had. Example: No info was given regarding aftercare except use soap and water.But the healing process has been smooth sailing in comparison to other experiences so thats worth something.

Ive gone to Exotic body for years to purchase jewlery. I went recently post pandemic and now you have to make an appointment online first. I was disappointed. I ended up taking my business somewhere else.

Truly the worst experience. Customer service absolutely garbage. The piercing, garbage. I had to get it redone elsewhere. The amount I paid was not worth this experience. Please go elsewhere and give your money to a better piercer, someone who is not abrasive and rude. For the price I expected a 12/10 experience.

Piercing Review!!Drove a few hours just to get peirced by Pablo, and it was beyond worth the long drive. Professional, super, clean, and sterile spot and piercer. I got both my dimples peirced and the entire process was super smooth sailing. They definetly take pride in their piercings offering an enormous selection of very fine body jewelry more pricey, but body jewelry should be people!! Pablo was super kind and caring and well is it odd that I regret not leaving a bigger tip..? I am originally from San Diego where we have a huge range of selection when it comes to these shops and never have I been to one that just looks so dang impressive. Highly recommend and if you ask me I would try to book Pablo, even though walk ins are welcomed.(yeah I walked in) There is no doubt in my mind that I will be back for Mr. Pablo.

They need to tell people when they walk in the door that if they use a debit card or credit card that they will be charged a $5.00 convenience fee. This is such a rip off!! Most people aren’t walking around with cash in their pockets on a regular basis, so most people are forced to pay their ridiculous $5.00 convenience fee. They are just too cheap to pay the merchant fee charged to their business for taking debit and credit cards. If your a business that is the cost of doing business and with the prices you charge especially with the prices you charge for your jewelry it is really sad that you feel that you are entitled to charge your customers even more money in the form of a convenience fee. You should re-exam your business practice in this area.

While my piercing(tragus ) looks great its was over priced (133.00 total)and the staff had a strange vibe. The piercer seemed like he was in a rush and I was quoted 2 different prices for thw piercing. All in all I would never come back nor recommend to anyone.

I went for my 16th birthday a couple years ago and they charged me $200 for a nose piercing and jewelry piece that rusted within a few months of having it. Definitely feel like I was robbed. I really don’t recommend.

Honestly, I’m so disappointed with this shop. They sold me jewelry that didn’t fit even after I asked, “are you sure this isn’t too small.” The piercing was cutting into my skin so I had buy another piece which cost me a bunch of unnecessary money. Then I bought a pair of earrings and the lady must not have put them in correctly or the tread broke off because it fell out of my ear the same day I bought it. Buyers beware. I lost over a hundred bucks to this place.

They do a wonderful job piercing. I first got my ears pierced at Claires and they kept on getting infected. I went to exotic body. And they guaged them and they healed up nicely.

Decided to get my speciality pericing done and after extensive research decided to come to The Exotic Body. The process went very well from start to finnish. I have to add that Samantha is very knowledgeable about everything from types of jewelry to the specifics about anything else you can possibly think of. Tattoo artist Gary was very in polite did not greet also did a very bad job at taking no as an answer when I said I didnt like what he drew up. Very very confusing artist did not feel comfortable in what he was doing and also did not try to take measures into changing my tattoo when I said I did not like what I drew up. 1-5. Will never go back. Stay away if you have anxiety as well he did not work well with my Gf as well made he feel very un easy

Over priced. I got a philtrum piercing. I know this because they corrected me every single time I said anything else. The jewelry they put in the piercing was huge. Stuck out a lot. Which they do to make you come back and buy more jewelry.

I give this shop 5 stars. i got my belly pierced. the ladys name is samantha, she was very professional, and very polite. she pierced my navel very quick, and didnt hurt at all.

Seems clean, knowledgeable, and aware of laws. Difficult if youre taking 2 of your kids for piercings, but show up and the sign on the door says, no one allow in if 14 yrs. or under, and you have a younger child with you. You cant let 1 in to get her ears pierced, disappoint the younger child and stay outside with the younger child. Yet their website says ear piercings for all ages, so it should be updated or explain how younger kids can get ears pierced. Parking is also a problem. Street parking or a little parking area thats hard to get in and out of.

First, I must say that Ive visited this establish three times. Twice to buy jewelry and once for a piercing service. I didnt have so much of a problem with the jewelry nor the piercing. The problem that I had was with the deceptive business practices of the gentleman that helped me who I think mightve been the owner.. Each time I went in there, I asked if they accepted credit cards, I was told they do, however, this gentleman said that it would be cheaper if I paid in cash. It was at this point that he then said that they had an ATM machine there. Well I wasnt going to go to the bank and get money and come back so I used the ATM machine thinking that I would get a cash discount on the price of the jewelry or the service. I didnt on any of them, it was still the same price whether I paid in cash or by credit card.Technically, he was not lying to me because it was cheaper for him but not me in that he didnt have to pay credit card fees and probably made either all or a portion of the ATM fees. Granted it was my fault to believe him and return the 2nd and 3rd time, but I am a trusting person and because of the location, the length of time its been in business, it seemed like a reputable establishment.All I have to say is caveat emptor, buyer beware.

I just went to buy 2 earrings for my cartilage the box showed the price of $27 they charged $42 for each one which double bill came out to $94. Even when the lady was entering in the system she put a quantity of 2 each I asked her why so expensive she said it’s the stone. They are ripping people off different price shown and charged not happy.

I have been pierced by three different piercers here. All do an amazing job! I would absolutely recommend this shop for all your piercings! Absolutely recommend for children’s ear piercings too.

They have a very clean area and stuff but I would not go there again, they make you pay ten dollars beforehand and they don’t tell you how much everything costed at first but when your going to check out, they tell you what everything costs. Almost paid $200!

There is a lady at the front desk shes an apprentice with a piercing on her forehead everyone beware she is extremely rude and makes the business look bad just being the first person you see when you walk in. If you go in to get a piercing or tattoo ask to see an actual staff member and not her.
