AMAZING!! We took our 3 month old, Olivia was the nurse to take care of my daughter and she did amazing! So quick, I love that they dont use a piercing gun with a spring. They use a device for so young BUT the nurse uses her own pressure to pierce through. Olivia was amazing she made sure we liked the placement and talked us through every step before they happened. We were in and out within 10-15 with having an appointment. They also have a military discount on the jewelry, which we really appreciate and are grateful for!

I loved getting my ears pierced here! I got my second lobe piercing done. Everyone here is super friendly and professional. The piercing itself was super quick and hurt very little. I can tell everything they use is high quality my ears are super sensitive and they didn’t have an allergic reaction or any problems.

Took my 2.5 year old to get her ears pierced. Visited on a busy Saturday and had a wonderful experience. I made my appointment online but also called to request for 2 nurses so they could pierce at the same time. They had enough nurses to be able to do it. Love the updated piercing guns that are no longer spring loaded. The picture is just 10 minutes after the piercing and you can see her ears are not all red and inflamed. Our nurse Jessica was great and made the process so quick and easy. In and out in 10 minutes and they were so busy. I would highly recommend!

Daughter had second piercings done in her lobes by needle. I returned the following week for the same but done with the device. We had the same nurse both times, and she was kind and patient. All staff were friendly. We recommend Rowan.

Came here last minute about 15 mins before closing, The girls were so helpful!!! Cant recall their names but my daughter cant wear anything in her ears and since coming here and purchasing her earrings she hasnt had any issues Im glad I trusted the girls on the product they sell! Took my girls to Rowan for ear piercings. The staff greeted us the second we walked in and made us feel comfortable and at home. All three of the associates gave us valuable information. From the placement of the piercing, the size and style of the earring and the importance of keeping the pierced area clean to avoid infection. Thank you to all the staff for being on top of their game.

I was SO excited to go to Rowan for my first time. I read amazing reviews and their social media looked great. My experience was NOTHING like I expected. I had an appointment and when I walked in both nurses seemed annoyed I was there. Not a single smile and just looked at me for a few seconds before greeting me. One was explaining my options to me but was rushing through all the information (even though I was the only person in there) I felt like I didn’t have a choice and just went with what she suggested. When I explained what piercings I wanted, she made me feel like she thought it was weird and wouldn’t look good (very odd considering it’s my body and should choose how I want to look). For one of the piercings, she used the device and when she got to my second lobe the earring broke halfway through the needle making a hole and literally fell in my lap. She tried to push the earring through (painfully) but since it broke during the process, my ear wasn’t completely pierced. She grabbed the device again and proceeded to use it for a second time on the same spot to fully pierce it. This whole time she had not said a word about what she was doing or acknowledged what had happened other than “i’ve never seen that before”. I would hate for a customer who was nervous to have such an apathetic piercer. Another woman came in and was treated the complete opposite of me, she was greeted with smiles and a positive attitude. After my piercings were finished the piercer looked at them and said “wow, they ACTUALLY look good?”……By far the most unprofessional experience I have ever had for the money I paid. I didn’t get a good vibe until after I paid and left a tip. I won’t return and will never recommend this location. Added an extra star because the earrings are cute.

Rowan was AMAZING and so worth the drive and all of the hype! My 4 year old had the best experience with Nurse Erica. Could not have been better! If you need a piercing definitely go to Rowan!

I had a wonderful experience at the San Antonio La Cantera location at Rowan! I got a double helix piercing on my left ear and overall the pain was a 4/10 (I would say I do have a higher pain tolerance haha—but fr NOT BAD AT ALLLL). Be aware that the prices are higher —but worth it in my opinion, especially since the environment is sanitary and the jewelry is very high quality. My nurse/piercer Erica was super friendly, kind, and wonderful and answered all of my questions! :) I’m so happy I came to Rowan! Also I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment online, it’s really quick and easy especially because when my mom and I got to the store, there were maaany people continuously coming in for walk-ins and being told to wait an hour or so. Be sure to also get the piercing aftercare cleanser— very convenient as it is a spray and feels soothing.

This was a smooth process from start to finish. My daughter had issues with her previous ear piercings elsewhere and this experience was amazing. My daughter had no pain, not even a pinch and has had no issues. 100% recommend them and will be a returning customer. They offer nickel free jewelry and their piercers are nurses. Came here to get my daughter’s second lobe piercing, not only did the staff take their time to explain the process clearly to my daughter and I they were also extremely patient and kind while my daughter asked many questions. The staff was helpful with jewelry selection and again didn’t mind at all that my daughter changed her mind several times. The piercing itself was quick and almost painless for my daughter. Everything was well sanitized, clean and in sealed pouches so we felt very safe here. We will be back as my second daughter is wanting to do the same as her sister. Thank you Rowan for taking care of my daughter. She’s still in love with her piercing and jewelry.

Best Experience Ever! I wish I knew the name of everyone working. I had my 3 year old daughter and 14 month daughter get their piercings and by far My Wife and I were really nervous to get them done but by the end of the time we were in and out within 25 minutes and my girls looked beautiful and My Wife and I were beyond ecstatic of the results and the atmosphere. Highly highly highly recommend this place!

My 9 year old daughter and I had such a good experience getting her ears re-pierced 3 years after our first attempt. Looked up the best places to pierce your ears and Rowan popped up.. Im very glad I made this choice instead of the old middle of the mall experience. The process was fast. We were in and out in about 15 minutes!! Everyone was so nice and helpful the moment we walked in. My daughter wanted to have her ears pierced at the same time so they had 2 ladies do hers at simotaneously which I thought was a great thing they offered. We are both happy customers 😀

My daughter’s first piercing was at a pop up in target and we had a wonderful experience. A second time was at the store in La Cantera. My complaint isn’t about the service it’s about the prices for the piercings. Over $100 for a helix piercing and my daughter was told another $30 to remove the earring if she wanted to switch it out. You have to pull the earring opposite each other and the two parts side out of each other. The earring was so tight it caused a ball on her piercing and it didn’t heal properly, even 6 weeks later. Went to Clair’s and paid $50 for a piercing, no upsale or hidden fees to remove earrings and it healed just fine. Last time we go to Rowan.

We had an amazing experience tonight getting my 4 year olds ears pierced. We made an appointment online and she welcomed us in as soon as we got there. She was so patient and kind to my daughter (and boys who came with us to cheer their sister on). I love the selection of earrings that were available as well. She picked sparkly butterflies!! I wish I could remember the ladys name who pierced her ears, but if you see this, thank you so much for making my little girls day today!

The woman put in the wrong earring (for my daughter) without realizing it and had to take it out and redo it, which was really painful. She didn’t charge for the piercing but it was still 80 dollars for the earrings and just not worth any discount for that experience. I would go somewhere else.

Took our birthday girl(6) to finally get her ears pierced after she said that’s what she wanted as her gift. It was the best experience! Rio explained the whole process to me in depth so I knew what was going on start to finish. He answered all my questions and concerns thoroughly with zero hesitation which made me feel so at ease with the process too! I can’t remember our nurses name but she did such an amazing job! Perfect line up of the earrings and was great with handling a nervous 6 yr old. Told and showed my daughter exactly what she was doing which made her feel at ease as much as possible too. My experience at Rowan La Cantera was great! From the moment I walked into this establishment I was greeted with a smile by Rio and Kelsey. They both made me feel comfortable and well informed me of the piercing process. I especially like the fact that the piercing is done by a registered nurse and this establishment is very clean. The treatment here is top notch. I highly recommend them.

I really didn’t want to get my daughter’s ears pierced by an untrained teenager at the mall or a body piercer in a space not meant for kids, and Rowan provided a perfect alternative. Our visit was quick, uncomplicated, and she’s healed up really nicely.If you want a safe and sanitary place to get your kid’s ears pierced, I highly recommend this. It’s not the cheapest, but the price felt fair for high-quality jewelry and such a perfect process.

Did not go over care or how long to keep new piercing in. Just recommend spray. When I told the piercer we had something she didn’t like that I didn’t buy the spray. Not the best experience. I’ve had better service elsewhere and better more experienced ear piercing places like Maria Tosh.

My 5 yr old asked for first ear piercing! Such great staff and understanding for her. She has a lollipop ready and is sitting in the chair and click! Decided right there and left with one ear pierced but we will return when she is ready or grandma can convince her!

Visited here three times. First time I got my helix pierced and had a wonderful experience, even with healing. It’s more pricy than a tattoo shop, and a lot less jewelry to choose from. The second visit was for me to get the earring removed and put a new one in, only because they never told me how to remove it myself. I wasn’t sure if it was to twist it, pull it, etc, to take the backing out. So I had to pay the $15 to get it out, only for the person working there to painfully remove it and force a new earring in when they said it has healed enough to put a different one in. A year later I revisited with my friend to get her ear pierced, and they were super nice to her and quite rude to me whenever I asked questions. These people may be licensed nurses but I would not go back here again.

I came in for a walk in and a girl who was training pierced me and they completely waived the cost for the piercing and I got 10% off the earring! She did so good I love it!!!

Wow! I went in for my third piercing, I had a rough time with my second piercing and was very nervous about going in. They allowed my boyfriend to hold my hand, which not many places allow due to covid. Super quick! took a total of ten minutes to check in, pick jewelry, and get the piercing. My third ear piercing did not hurt at all! Totally scared of needles and have the LOWEST pain tolerance. NO PAIN! so excited to show it off, super helpful and friendly ladies. They squeezed me in which was so nice. Definitely going back! Thank you guys

This place is extremely expensive. I was not aware they earrings they offer for piercing, is not only a separate cost than the already expensive piercing, but incredibly expensive on their own. Be prepared to spend between $150-$200+ to get ears pierced. Im giving 4 stars for the professionalism of staff, as well as the fact they have actual Nurses, piercing your ears.

I had my daughter ears pierced in November service was excellent and the nurse who pierced her ears was very gentle she didnt feel it.Sadly she had got two infections on different occasions. The service was excellent on replacing the earings and supplying another bottle of spray. My daughter right ear started to bleed, puff up and was having trouble sleeping cause of the pain we just made the decision to take them out and that was in middle of January. She still has a lump in the right ear lobe. Im going to take her again when she is a tad bit older and try again. I will use there service again.

I had been thinking about getting a helix piercing for quite some time but hadnt yet taken the leap. An ad on social media for Rowan Piercing Studio caught my attention. I perused their website several times before deciding to visit the studio. After asking many questions and getting very thorough answers from the friendly staff, I made the decision to finally get my piercing done. Despite being a walk-in, I was able to make an appointment for the same day. The fact that the piercing (mine was done with a needle) was performed by a nurse and I was given very detailed aftercare instructions (including instructions to go back to the studio if I had any concerns of improper healing or infection) put my mind at ease. The jewelry at Rowan Piercing Studio is high quality and beautiful. If youre curious, go check it out. You wont be disappointed.

THIS SHOP MADE ME LOSE A $400 EARRING. I will never use this location again. I asked them to change out some jewelry for me to have flat backings. One of my earrings was from a previous shop, and cost $400. I have had it in my ear for 2 years. I wanted a shorter post. I was frustrated when one of the pieces fell out in 24 hours (the first piece I bought from them) and they were flexible and replaced it for me.However, to me it is inexcusable that the SECOND once also fell out. This was my own earring I have owned for more than two years, and cost $400. So, if youre keeping track, both earring backings they replaced fell out. One within 24 hours, one within a month. These earrings are both tiny and impossible to locate.Shame on Rowan for providing such a shoddy service. I am incredibly upset to have lost one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. The previous post was in place for over 2 years. Their post couldnt last a month. I cant find it anywhere. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP WITH YOUR EXPENSIVE JEWELRY. IT WILL JUST FALL OUT.

I see the positive reviews and it makes me sad that I didn’t get that experience. The girls were very rude and unwelcoming.Definitely won’t be going back.For instance the women said it took 45 minutes to sterilize ONE piece of jewelry, that’s unheard of. You could have just told me you didn’t want to pierce me.👎But I’m happy they can squeeze in a screaming four month old instead of a calm paying customer who was about to spend $400 + 🫶

Such an easy and fun experience! I made an appointment and was in and out in no time. Everyone there was so helpful in helping me pick out what is best for the anatomy of my ears as well as helping style pieces together. They were super accommodating that I had my family with me and made us feel so welcome. I felt like they really took the time to listen to me and find the best options. The jewelry is on the pricier side as an FYI but they tell you this up front. And it’s all high quality. I have very sensitive ears and can only handle very high quality earrings - and they’ve got you covered on that front. Super cute selections and just a great overall experience.

I took my daughter to get her ears pierced and the whole process was quick and easy. She was very nervous about getting her ears pierced; the manager, Rio, helped by talking her through the process and showing her how it is done. There was confusion on my end about the pricing, but Rio followed up with me and offered a partial refund. I would recommend this studio and will come back!

My mother and I walked in to this cool and cute place that you could get your ears pierced! It smelled very clean as well. I wanted to get another helix done and looked around a bit. There was one other customer in the shop with her daughter and four employees. Wasn’t very busy at all. Unfortunately, none of them seem interested in providing service. A couple of staff were on their phone and one just seemed like she just didn’t want to be there. Nobody asked us if we wanted help after we stood at the shop for awhile. It became awkward and uninviting so we just left.

Earrings are made of reliable material and have an array of adorable designs. I went in to purchase an earring and was told they only accepted card or electronic payments. Since I had only cash, a manager graciously settled my bill in exchange for my cash. Despite its simplicity, this gesture was not obligatory, and Im grateful for the La Cantera teams commitment to assisting their customers.

Very professional, clean, and personable service. Every employee we encountered was happy, friendly, and knowledgeable. We got my 7 year old daughters ear lobes pierced and I got my conch pierced so we used both their device and needle services and we had such a wonderful experience.100% would recommend them!

They did a good job on the piercing and the staff was nice, but it is very expensive. They charge you about 50 for the piercing service plus the cost of each individual earring. When you pay it automatically asks for a tip. Tipping is fine, but they don’t only include the service charge they include the charge of your entire purchase. So my purchase was about $180, so the tips automatically calculated between 30-40. I felt that was just trying to be a little sneaky with tipping. I guess for me personally my daughter has gotten her ear piercings elsewhere that was not as expensive and had the same quality of service.

Got a helix piercing on impulse and did not regret it! The girls who work there are so kind & funny, they make you feel welcomed. Erica was my nurse/piercer, she made me feel comfortable & talked me through everything I needed to know. They also do the little things like having hair ties, or clips on hand incase you forget/don’t know and are generous when you need it. I can’t wait to come back for my 2nd helix!!

This is my second time at this location. The ladies are always kind and professional. They are great with my 9 year old daughter. She has gotten 3 piercings here and wants more. It is a little expensive, but worth it IMO vs taking my daughter to a tattoo shop.

I visited Rowan just this past Saturday, basically to get my right ear lobe re-pierced & 2 new upper piercings.I first had my ears pierced at age 17 in 1972, when the operation was performed in the pediatrician’s office using a needle sterilized by alcohol & a flame & the needle was threaded with dental floss with about 3 or 4 knots tied in it to make the holes big enough. The cleaning process back then was with hydrogen peroxide & alcohol (a big No-No doctors know now as it actually makes you more prone to infection) & Neomycin ointment, all applied front & back. I never had a problem with the left ear & it’s always stayed open through these past 51 years now. The right ear, however, immediately became infected & I remember when rotating the earring while it was supposed to be healing, that it had a nasty smelling crustiness surrounding the earring. I was in college & taking Bacteriology, so I asked my Instructor to swab it to see what was going on & it turned out to be some nasty & highly infectious microbe. Back to the doctor I went for 10 days of antibiotics. Back then you could change your earring after 10 weeks & I quickly found out that the doctor must have run the knotted dental floss through 3 different directions in the right ear because my posts & loops never could find a straight path to push through & most of the time over all these years I just forced the earring through with very considerable & painful force to be able to wear my earrings to work, & sometimes they bled afterwards. This even after getting this ear pierced by a piercing gun 2 more times [once in an open air mall kiosk (not very sanitary) & they also pierced 1 piercing just above each current piercing, which was the fad in 1977); the other piercing took place about 7 years ago at a well known national cheap jewelry franchise that also does piercing with a piercing gun. That episode went fairly well, but within several months I was back to changing earrings daily & not sleeping with an earring in & once again the problem developed of having earrings not knowing what path to follow, & none of the paths were straight anyway & I was back to painfully forcing earrings through the back side of my ear with it sometimes bleeding. I would clean it with sterile water only & apply a triple-antibiotic cream, but still didn’t sleep with earrings in. (& The upper lobe earrings probably closed up sometime in the late 80s or sometime in the 90s & I just never bothered to get them pierced again)].I was at Dillard’s Saturday evening, which is very close to this cheap jewelry & piercing chain & they told me that I shouldn’t get my ears pierced there ever again due to the horror stories they had heard & recommended Rowan to me, telling me it’s staffed only by Registered Nurses, who really knew what they’d doing, use sterile methods & jewelry, which is also guaranteed hypoallergenic, & know about the dos & don’ts of wound healing. So I made an appointment for Sunday evening, actually the last appointment of the day.I asked the piercing nurse about an article I had recently read that said piercings can actually take up to a year to be fully healed & she said that was true, so I’ve vowed to wear these beautiful & glitzy cz earrings for the entire next year, with my beloved & huge collection of matching earrings to jewelry sets just having to take a back seat for this upcoming year.The right ear lobe had completely closed up due to not wearing any jewelry at all during Covid, since I rarely went anywhere for almost 3 years & I’m glad it did. It gave the nurse a clean slate to pierce a new piercing that will heal straight & she didn’t have to re-pierce the left ear as it never closed up. I knew I wanted other piercings, too, but where the prior second piercings were had grown to close to the main lobe piercing with my age & I knew I didn’t want any piercings through my cartilage, so we chose a place high up the ear lobe just below where the outer lobe & an inner fold begin & she had to use a needle for those 2 piercings. The whole experience was wonderful!
