Mariana is awesome, this is the 3rd tattoo I received from her. She is very accommodating, flexible, and meticulous with her work. I went to her for my very first tattoo and she made my experience extremely pleasant. She is great at what she does and very friendly and personable. If I could give her more than 5 stars, I would. I can’t recommend her enough, you will not be disappointed with her work and professionalism.

100% recommend Family Business Tattoo San Diego! I came in to get my back done, the entire back! I came with a list of things that were important to me in my life, then let Mariana come up with a back piece that incorporated all of my items. Of course, she knocked it out of the park! I am 5 sessions in with one to go. Each time I come in, I am more and more amazed at her attention to detail! She takes her time, doesn’t rush, and the tattoo reflects that patience!My advice to you is this: come in with a mindset that Mariana is a true professional artist, she knows what will look good things that will not. I had three tattoos completed here. Including my first ever tattoo which was a full arm sleeve. Ronaldo and Mariana have both been awesome each and every time. Ronaldo is a great artist and a true professional. I will be coming back for more work!

Mariana was very attentive from the start. She was very responsive from the first point of contact and really nailed what I was looking for. The vibe between everyone in the shop was very endearing. Everyone seems to mesh well together in the shop. It is a very laid back and friendly vibe. Even prior to choosing an artist I had trouble because while everyone has their own style, they all have incredible skill. However, I was looking for an ornamental tattoo and from what I saw. It seems that Mariana and Carrie are very skilled in that. No matter what you’re looking for, this is the place. Family Business Tattoo has very attentive, approachable, and professional artists that will ensure you are happy with the final results and that you are comfortable throughout the entire process. Pricing is fair. What you get is what you pay for and I would never dare cheap out on a tattoo. These guys are quality so in turn you pay for just that and it was worth every penny for me. Ive been to a few shops in SD already and these guys are definitely on the top of my list. I can’t wait to go back and finish up my sleeve ☺️

When I say I will not be going anywhere else, I mean it. By far the best tattoo experience I’ve had (I don’t have many) but they have set the bar high. From the very first impression, they made me feel so at home and welcomed. Their space is so cozy and chill and everyone is so polite and sweet. They answered all my questions and concerns and made me comfortable. Carrie redeemed my previous bad tattoo experience. She’s extremely talented and exceeded my expectations. My tattoo turned out way better than I expected and before I left the shop, I scheduled my next appointment with her. I’m so excited to start and finish my sleeve. My tattoo came out amazing my artist was quick, helpful, friendly, and professional even though my fiance and her friend were a little tipsy lol. It was my first tattoo experience and it couldn’t have gone better. On top of all that the price was super reasonable for both me and my finances tattoo. On top of all of that they opened on a day they are not normally open just to fit us in. 10/10 experience.

Bobbi was absolutely incredible! I just lost my greyhound, Mila, she passed away a couple days ago and I’ve been in so much pain. I knew I needed to have her on me forever. When I walked into this tattoo shop I was pretty emotional and Bobbi was the perfect person for the job. Not just her but everyone in the shop felt like family. They were so supportive and kind. Bobbi started on my sketches right away and sent them to me that night. I cried…they were all so beautiful. The entire experience was exactly what my heart needed. This shop is well rated for a reason, I showed up on the summer solstice around the time they opened with my wife, my 2 oldest children and my grandson, and they re-arranged there schedule (and shop) to accommodate. We all recieved tattoos (including a temporary tattoo for my grandson) from Bobbi and Mariana, who were both very wonderful, calming, assuring, and professional. The price was right on point and being the last day of our family vacation before heading back to Las Vegas they made it memorable and special. I would definitely recommend them to anyone I know. All artists here are friendly and welcoming. I have been working with Mariana on a full sleeve that is nearly completed. We worked together on a great design and the quality of her work is impeccable. I am from Oregon and was only visiting briefly, but Mariana was able to get me in right away and was also very quick to respond to my initial inquiry. I most definitely recommend this place! All the artists seem amazing and passionate in what they do, you will not be disappointed no matter what.. however, Mariana will especially not let you down! She was attentive and made me feel extremely comfortable! I love this place and definitely plan to continue coming here for future ink.

Great vibe and location. Staff was engaging, a good feel in the space overall. They sat me down as a walk in. Yassir was my artist. He is extremely talented, and has a good hand… hardly felt a thing. I had the pleasure of meeting Mariana to have her add to an existing tattoo on my forearm. I wanted her to add some color and feminize it a little bit, to make it some thing that brought me joy and is a reminder of my journey in life. She also added a small tattoo of a lotus on my wrist. I absolutely love my lotus and the existing forearm tattoo is now so pretty and brings me a smile every time I look down at my forearm. Mariana took her time and explained everything to me, drew up some artwork for me to approve prior to beginning the tattoo and made sure I was satisfied with the placement. After the stencil was applied for the lotus we moved it around and she made sure I was going to be happy with the placement. Mariana communicated with me every step of the way, from the time I initially reached out, to the consultation, and then to confirm our appointment. PHIL IS THE BEST! I didnt think I would ever say this but, THANK GOD FOR TARGETED ADS! I had looked at a couple shops around town online. Then Phils reels came through my feed in ad and his work peeked my interest. I had an old ugly faded tribal from 1998. After checking out more of his work I sent a message. Didnt take long and he replied and asked me to come on in and have a consultation. I gave him a vague idea of what kind of coverup I was looking for. A week later he had a custom piece that blew my mind. He nailed what I didnt even know I wanted! The shop is clean and inviting. Along with the crew working away. 2 sessions later I have a Fn master piece (to me) on my back covering that old nasty 90s tribal. I am SO happy with the work. I will be returning for more! Muito obrigado!!!!

Yasser did a great job of designing my tattoo and applying it to my skin. It wasn’t until the tattoo was done that he charged me $100 more than he quoted me. He leaned in and lowered his voice and I should’ve made him write the total down. My mistake cost me $100 and him a tip

The owner has 20+ years of experience and remains humble, eliminating any room for complacency.I reached out to Family Business Tattoo via website and email, I was surprised on how quickly they got back to me. I was able to submit my art and get an appointment in about 4 days. I have experienced nightmares from other tattoo parlors on appointment setting alone! Their process is efficient and effective.The owner welcomed me into his shop like it was his home, offered me coffee, food, water, etc. Aside from his art, he prioritized the comfort of his customers which is a big plus. If I wasn’t getting a tattoo I would think I was in a spa. He shared many stories about Brazil and gave me some great food recommendations! Mariana’s fine lines and color are stunning. I worked with her on a custom piece for my side body. I had an idea but not a full picture of what I wanted and she worked with me in person and over email on the art until I was fully satisfied with the drawing. I absolutely LOVE this shop! First of all of the people there are extremely nice and the shop itself has such an awesome feel about it. We were in San Diego for a vacation from Arizona and just stopped in and I met Fellipe who touched up my tattoo I had and added something that was very special to me that I wanted for years. In my eyes it was perfection! We will definitely make this an annual visit when we come back next summer!

I wanted a spur of the moment tattoo one morning so I went to Family Business Tattoo San Diego because I loved their work that I saw on Yelp. I went in and the environment inside was so great. The artist Daniel was able to take my ideas and draw a wonderful sketch. I was so excited when I saw it because it was EXACTLY what I didn’t know I needed! It was my first time getting a tattoo and he explained and walked me through all of the process. Super talented and nice guy. The fun atmosphere made it a great experience and I love my tattoo! Will definitely go back.

Prices are great: very reasonable. For the price that you pay you get a very detailed piece. The atmosphere at the tattoo shop is absolutely wonderful: both Mariana and her husband are very welcoming people. They offer heart to heart hospitality to ensure comfort. Mariana asked me several times if I wanted anything to drink and gave me a pillow regardless if I was too shy to ask. Mariana and her husband are very passionate about perfecting the piece that you want and take their time placing it in a picture-perfect area. I wasn’t sure exactly how I wanted to place my quarter sleeve, however Mariana knew just exactly what and where each piece of my tattoo should go to let it flow. I can’t wait to come back for another one!

I went into Family Business Tattoo having only seen their Instagram, I was really impressed by the variety of tattoos they were doing, all the styles and the general quality of them. Let me say, I don’t think the photos do the artwork justice. I got a stunning fern done on my forearm, about 8 inches long. It’s flawless, the shading, the lines, everything about it. It’s my favorite tattoo I’ve ever gotten. Not to mention it only took 45 minutes.I wholeheartedly trust the owners and their abilities. They’re so sweet and so talented. I’ve gone to Family Buisness Tattoo more than once (for a nose piercing and tattoos), 10/10 the best place to go for tattoos, piercing, and everything surrounding!! I got two tattoos done on the same day (my first tattoos ever shall I add) and it was honestly amazing!! Ms.Mariana did my tattoo work and it came out terrific, I experienced little to no pain and the aura of the place was just hands down awesome. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to get my tattoos as well as piercings. I had the same experience with the piercing- little to no pain and the place is just beautiful. Carrie did a floral/geometric piece for me and it is AMAZING!!! I laid out what I was thinking beforehand and when I came in the design she had made was amazing, I loved it, and she was super receptive to tweaks to size/add ons. In total it took maybe 3hrs and we took some breaks so her hand didn’t cramp but she did a ton of detail and shading in that time. It’s healing beautifully and I will definitely be going back for some more with Carrie!!!

I just finished my chest piece with Deanna, who is talented, creative, and equipped with the hands of an angel! My first session with her took 6 hours and it was like a spa day 😌 The energy amongst the shop is very wholesome, emphasizing the essence of its name Family Business. All artists were very professional, and the waiting area as well as the tattoo stations were well kept. AND the secondskin bandage they apply after is a game changer for the healing process 🙌 I would highly recommend this business for your tattoo and piercing services if youre in San Diego 🙂

Called the shop a few weeks before my visit to SD.Based on Connals work I decide to book with him for a coverup on my wrist. The place was very clean and organized, all of the artists were extremely nice and welcoming. Connal did not disappoint- he listened to what I wanted, made suggestions, made sure I knew what the finished tattoo would look like and what to expect during the process. He worked tirelessly to make this a great experience- he’s a perfectionist. I’m incredibly please with my cover up. Great experience- highly recommend.

This is the 4th tattoo parlor I have been to in my life, and the service and quality of work I received at Family Business is by far the best! Daniel took plenty of time with me to work on adding / fixing an existing tattoo and he was patient and explained how we could approach fixing someone else’s poor work. He crushed it! Went in for a walk in for my very first tattoo and was helped right away with the business’s instagram/portfolio and was given a price and time. Once i arrived i sat and was introduced to snacks and beverages while i waited. The tattooist, daniel, was with me asap, drew my design and once he changed it to match my preferences he printed out the stencil and got started. The tattoo itself took about 2 hours and came out looking AMAZING even with how difficult it was. I got a bow and arrow with a sun and moon incorporated into it. Nothing but straight lines! And he was funny and talkative throughout the process. Me and my sisters loved it. 100% would recommend Daniel to everyone!

I had my tattoo done by Carrie and my experience there was really nice and accommodating. She even made a really nice suggestion to bring my tattoo more to life and was very quick and light handed which fit perfectly with the dainty style of tattoos I like.
