Very pleased with my experience here. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and looks amazing. Mateo did my piercings (larger gauge lobe piercings). He is so knowledgeable. He sterilized everything and showed me the test strip that goes in the autoclave that confirms everything was sterilized. All around fantastic experience. There is another local piercing shop that I also love, so it is going to be a tough choice for me in the future on which shop to go to. I wish I could get every piercing done twice so I dont have to choose between the two lol.Joking aside, I will definitely return for more piercings from Mateo. I have a minimum of 10 more piercings I want to get.

I’ve been here before for a couple piercings, and most recently to change out a piercing someone else did(which I wish I went to them for this piercing because it was done crooked by another piercer somewhere else). I also have taken my daughter there for eyebrow piercing recently… her piercing turned out amazing and perfect placement! All of our experiences have been great. They’re all very professional. The shop is clean. They have a really great selection of beautiful jewelry. The two people at the counter were very helpful to all the customers including a small child. I definitely would recommend and now accepting walk-ins on certain days which is helpful.

Saw Dan today for a nostril piercing. He was a true joy to work with. He did a great job of explaining everything and answering my questions. I did not feel nervous or anxious under his care. I would highly recommend him to anyone.I got to interact with a bunch of the staff here as well and everybody is super professional and very pleasant. The space is also beautifully decorated and cared for. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend anybody here.I came in as a walk-in and they were able to get me in within about 2 1/2 hours which was not a problem since I live very close and could go home and just come back at the time they told me to be back.

I own my own small business, but apparently they are far to busy to keep their clients happy. I came in 20 mins before they closed, which I get is kind of late, but they are far to busy to take 5 mins to remove starter earrings that they put in so tight that there was no way to remove them without tools.Tip they just pull apart, but they put a bend in them to keep them in. Home Depot has small clamps, they are 60 cents each. Two of them work to hold the back and front, then you can pull them apart.They did a good job piercing them and it’s my first piercing, which are the lobes.What I do have to say they are over priced. $200+ for basic studs with fake gems, they are titanium at least. What they don’t tell you is once the swelling goes down in about 6 weeks they have you come back to put in shorter studs. The thing is they don’t tell you it’s going to cost you another $55 to do this and they take the longer ones, they have a sterilization machine, so they can reuse them.I wouldn’t have posted this if they took 5 mins out of their busy day to remove them, so I could wear some cute earrings I bought. I plan to still keep the studs for everyday wear, I made the bend less myself and now can pull them out without a tool.I planned to bring my mom in as she has one ear with a funky piercing, but I’m going to suggest she goes elsewhere now. All because they couldn’t even spend 5 minutes to keep a customer happy, I do this often with my customers to keep them happy, guess they have a different business philosophy.In reply to your reply, I did not receive anything back when I came in to get them downsized.My biggest thing is I did not feel like the business cared for me being a client, I was treated just like a number, not an individual. Good food for thought on how you treat future customers.Had I felt like the business cared for me more as a person, rather than me being a number that makes them money, then paying more wouldn’t have been an issue.People have been doing piercings without fancy certifications for thousands of years. So I’ve learned I’d rather to go with someone experienced, who gives personalized service than clearly a business who fills up there days so full that there’s no room for people who come in for something that would take 2 minutes fix and has some fancy certification for piercing.

I have 5 piercings and my conch (the one I got it here) is the only one that heals fast and not infected at all. They are also very welcoming and answer all my questions patiently. Their jewelry are little expensive but definitely worth it!

I have gone in for multiple piercings now, septum, helix, conch, lobes. These guys are incredibly professional. Their jewelry selection is amazing and they give you sound advice on what looks good, sizing, and realistic placement. Their expertise is incontrovertible and they go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable! Their jewelry is top of the line, great quality, and beautiful.Highly recommended making an appointment! They are busy every day because they are quality piercers!

Exceptional experience at Armory Body Arts! From my initial call through my (ear) piercing appointment I was extremely impressed by the friendliness & professionalism of the Armory crew. The environment is comfortable, welcoming and very, very clean. The product selection was perfect— great amount of options, but not so extensive that it made it hard to choose.Dan, who did my piercings, was the ultimate professional. He explained everything clearly during every step of the process. My comfort and satisfaction were obviously the priority. The piercing room was comfortable and I appreciate the extensive steps taken to provide a sterile and safe experience. Aftercare was clearly explained, all of my questions cheerfully answered, and the follow up email put everything in writing for my convenience. Wow!Armory has a great reputation & it’s easy to see why— this is more than a business; this is an organization that makes their clients feel like old friends. Came in just to get a backing for an earring and was not disappointed. Everyone in the shop was friendly, and was able to help me in a quick manner. The shop is small, but the shop is also extremely clean and pleasing to look at. Will definitely be coming here for future piercings :)

I had a difficult septum to pierce due to a surgery to repair a deviated septum; two other piercers turned me down and said it wouldnt look good. This shop had no problem and a year later its looking great. Been fully healed for six months or more.

This was the best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. Today when I arrived for my appointment (earlobe and helix piercing) I was greeted by Anthony and then was introduced to Dan who did my piercing. Both of them were super helpful and informative, friendly , funny and just overall great people. They really made this experience great for me. You can tell they are really passionate about what they do. I felt super comfortable getting my piercing done. Dan let me know step by step what he was doing.I definitely recommend anyone looking to get pierced to go here. This was my second visit (first time I got my tongue pierced). They did great work both times I’ve been there. Looking forward to booking with them again.

I just had my piercings done at Amory Body Arts and I LOVE THIS PLACE. I had a wonderful experience! The piercings went so so smoothly, almost no pain at all. I got my cartilage, and two earlobes pierced (see pic).Both Adam and Dan were helpful from the very start of my appointment to the very end! The jewelry was beautiful, lots and lots of amazing options to fit your aesthetic - I went with a more minimal look. They are very understanding and accommodating about the selection process based on your ideal price range and aesthetic. I normally sweat this part the most, since I get nervous about inconveniencing the business for time and also not being able to afford the highest priced stuff, but here, its no issue at all.Dan was my piercer and he was very knowledgeable. He made sure all the equipment was sanitized properly, which made me feel safe. He also gave me detailed aftercare instructions and answered all my questions. They both actually told me numerous times so reach out for any questions as they are always available for any further questions or concerns. I really felt they loved what they do and providing the best experience for each and every customer! I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back for more piercings, I honestly now wish I had gotten my other ones here too. Oh well, lesson learned.

All of the staff was super friendly and nice, and it felt like a really welcoming environment. I got my septum pierced there and you can really tell they care about their customers. It was really clean and sterile and they walked me through the whole process of getting the piercing and aftercare. Although they did piece my septum crooked the first time and had to re-due it which is hindering me from giving them 5/5 stars, but I got 50% off due to that which was nice. My piercing has healed amazing and overall, other than having to get it done twice in the same session, I had a great experience. I still would highly recommend here, although it is a little bit pricey. I also got a free sticker which was cool.

I had an amazing experience here. I really felt so comfortable with the staff. They were so wonderful not in a fake customer service way, but because they just seem so happy about what they do. That passion comes through and it creates an incredible atmosphere. They gave me all the education I needed about my piercing, and took extra steps to ensure Id be happy about what I would pay, what after care would look like, and how clean their jewelry is. Im an hour away but it was definitely a trip worth making and Ill send everyone I know here.

Amory was amazing! All the staff were very kind and professional as well as knowledgable. Dan was my piercer and was really friendly and made the process super comfortable. Prices are a bit expensive but honestly totally worth it for the sanitary environment and excellent piercing techniques.

I got my industrial piercing here at Amory. The staff is super friendly and super professional. It was easy to talk with the staff to find what I want and if the anatomy of my ear was correct. When it came time for my piercing it was one of the way less painful then a COVID shot. It has also healed better than all of my prior piercings. 10/10 I would recommend getting a piercing from these folks at Amory.

I have never felt more safe and comfortable in a piercing place ever. I have been to them twice and if I ever wanted anything else done this would be the only place I would go to! The staff is wonderful, attentive, patient, caring and kind. They not only take the time to make sure you are okay and all your concerns are voiced, they take you through the process effortlessly, making sure you are okay every step of the way! I would highly recommend for jewelry and piercings needs!

Got a few piercing here, great and friendly staff! Only downside is that you need to make an appointment for them to change your piercing or to get a replacement if it fall out. I had to go to another piercing place that accept walk in to get an temporary one until my appointment for here. I would give a 5 stars if they can let us come in if our piercing fall out!

Been a while since Ive been there, but Ive been there twice. My nose piercing was done great and well so I thought Id go again to get it re pierced as I had it out for about 2 years because of work. I show up for my time and the piercer is incredibly rude. I was wearing a crew neck that I had worn out a bit, but it was comfortable. I was looking at a diamond stud and he said, well lets look at options that would fit your budget Excuse me? I had money to spend there and just because I didnt look it you cant assume I just cant afford something. I think he was trying to be conscience of budgets, but I never mentioned a budget and I have been there before I know you guys are ridiculously expensive. Never again. A coworker of mine to went and he was unaware of the prices because they dont communicate it well until after youre pierced.

Adam was amazing piercing my conch, and the dude working the front was friendly and extremely helpful. Adam gave easy to follow, yet thorough instructions to care for my new piercing. Great local jewelry selection that’s worth every penny. I can’t wait to come back, such good vibes emanating from here!

I really enjoyed my experience at Amory Body Arts. Shelbie was really helpful picking out jewelry, and there are lots of different options for different price points ($20/$30 for titanium or $300+ gold pieces). Dan was a great piercer and you can tell he really is passionate. Would recommend Amory especially since they are APP certified , it’s important to go to a safe place for body piercings.

Very friendly, professional service. Extremely clean shop. The piercers table-side manner helped a TON with my nerves prior to and during the piercing. Ive been pierced here 2 times and will come back here when I want more, and when I need my piercings serviced.Specifically, Dan Steinbacher was my piercer and he did an excellent job with the piercing itself, and with answering any questions I had. Very knowledgeable and thorough, 10/10.

They are so nice and friendly very professional people!Because I did a earring switch out the earrings that I got were a little bit bigger and I wasnt sure if it was because of an allergy to the metal.I wrote to them and Shelby responded very quickly with a phone call and was very helpful and explained to me what it probably was however she was saying if it got worse that I should keep an eye on it and let them know. I really appreciated her taking the time to explain to me what was going on which in fact by the next day my ears felt 100% better and it wasnt even bad to begin with I just thought maybe I was having an allergic reaction.It might be pricey but I totally think it is worth it because it is excellent materials that they use.I highly recommend them for any of your piercing needs!!

This place is really nice but they REALLY over charge. They overtightened my jewelry on purpose so I had to come back & pay for an appointment to get them professionally removed. The peircer was really nice but even admitted he really over tightens jewelry. I know he doesnt want people to loose it, but cmon. He took 1 minute to remove it & there was no one else there. Thats just not fair or honest.

Changed the piercing i wanted last minute (vertical labret to eyebrow) and they were very cool about it. communication was great through the whole thing , overall very friendly people !!

Ive been to all the piercing shops In town. This is hands down the cleanest, most knowledgeable, and best equipped. They are APP certified, and just straight up talented people working there. You pay for the quality but the price difference is minimal compared to the quality difference. 10/10

This was my first time at Amory Body Arts, my whole experience was 10/10. Super professional, friendly, patient, clean, attentive. Any/all questions I had were answered in a friendly manner. Everyone is super knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly. Dan pierced me and was easy going and helped me feel at ease. For Christmas I got a gift certificate for a nose Pierce. I have had other piercings in my body and have many tattoos but never cease to be nervous before one of these appointments.The staff was unbelievably friendly and warm. The space is wood and metal and comfortable and well decorated. The jewelry selection is amazing! They include you in every step of the process including verifying with you visibly that the equipment they will be using to Pierce you is disinfected properly. I recommend anyone that wants to put a hole in their body to only go to this place.

Best piercing studio Ive been to. I drive 3 hours because Ive learned the hard way that you shouldnt trust every piercing shop with your body. Ive only had amazing appointments here. Had an industrial bar installed by Adam in 2010, and have been following him since. Got a septum piercing and upgraded the ring a few months later in 2018 at this location. Cant even describe how impressed I am with their cleanliness and skills.

Really cant say enough good things about Amory. We went there to get my 15 year old daughters nose pierced and received exceptional care from the beginning to the end of the process. We felt welcomed and comfortable and most importantly were kept completely informed about every step. They took their time to make sure we understood everything that was happening and why. They answered all of our questions without ever making us feel rushed. I recommend Amory to anyone looking for high quality, sanitary piercing with reasonable prices.

Amory is a step above the rest in Santa Cruz, not only is their studio clean and inviting, but the staff is second to none, Adam and Shelby are APP certified piercers which guarantees professional, clean, and top tier knowledge about piercing. The jewelry selection is pretty diverse and all high quality. This studio will take care of you, going above and beyond is their style and they wont do anything but. I have been pierced countless times here and every single time I have been taken care of and treated with respect. Do your self a favor and skip the other places and just head straight to this one, get it right the first time.

Absolutely love this place. Very knowledgeable staff and very professional. So happy with my piercing Im not going anywhere else! They have male and female piercers!!! Which makes it so nice for more intimate piercings. I highly recommend this place hands down the best and Ive been to 5 other places for piercings and not going anywhere else but here for now on.

Wonderful staff, fantastic studio/shop. The atmosphere is professional and friendly and the jewelry selection is stunning and unique. Adam and Shelby (owners) answered all of my questions and gave me recommendations of aftercare that were specific to the anatomy of my body. It was up and above the typical rehearsed speech Ive gotten in the past from previous piercers. They made me feel very comfortable, and the dynamics of their work/personal relationship that shined through made them more relateable as people verses random strangers that were sticking a needle through my skin.An appointment may be necessary/required. If youre going for a new piercing or just want to spruce up your hardware, definitely go here!! HIGHLY recommend.

This was THE best piercing experience Ive ever had! The are very straight forward with the procedure, and talk you through every step, and use super high quality materials. I got my naval done here and I didnt even feel the needle go through.

I accompanied a friend here. Although I have not personally experienced any of their services, I was with my friend as she got her ears pierced. The shop was very clean, well maintained, and had an appealing decor. The staff were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

The patience of Jobe to execute the vision I had in mind! From the moment we stepped in the door we knew we were in good hands with Anthony and Alexander. They were extremely patient, very knowledgeable, experienced and did I mention patient? Alexander listened to exactly what I wanted and made it happen. I would highly recommend him for your next piercing! And the salon was immaculate.

I had my ears re-pierced, because every time I tried to wear earrings they would get infected. I originally had mine pierced at a mall, when I was a teenager. Amory folks were super patient and kind. They allowed my 10 yr old daughter to watch and ask questions, as she is considering getting her ears pierced. Im so thrilled to be able to wear earrings again with no problems! Its been 9 months and Im super happy with the result.

Today i got my rook pierced and a few jewelery replacements. It was a fabulous experience. Amory is my favorite local piercing shop in Santa Cruz. There COVID-19 protocols and precautions are stellar. I felt totally safe and healthy at the shop. Cant wait to come back for my next piercing :P

What a wonderful bunch of people!! As an unadorned individual, I didnt know what to expect.I was there to buy some backs for ear piercings my wife had Amory Body Arts do a couple of months back. I was way over my head but the ladies at the counter were tremendously helpful. My wife was not along (she is in Portugal) and so we had to employ some guess-work. I chose two different sizes with the offer to be able to return the unneeded set for a refund.I would recommend this place for anyone that might need some hand holding and a smile.

I have loved this place since my first visit. I have been there for 10 total piercings and countless checkups, jewelry and post changings. The owners take the utmost pride in everything from their staff, to the jewelry they carry, to the cleanliness and absolute detail they take in every step they do while attending to their customers. I cannot imagine being pierced by any other place

By far the best piercing spot in Santa Cruz county, I have gone to multiple different places that were so so. here they are SO nice, organized, professional, i could go on and on. never going anywhere else. they also have a rad selection of quality jewelry.

Wife & I just moved here in August and we were really missing our home shop. I needed a new piece and after some research came upon Amory. I was delighted to find that upon entering we were not only greeted with kindness & professionalism, but felt right back at home. Like wed been coming here for years. The shop is gorgeous, the quality & selection are amazing.My second visit, customer service was nothing short of dreamy. My opinion of Amory may be a tad biased because I know the owners. but they have done it right every time for not just myself but my son and so many other people that i know. I highly recommend Amory Body Arts not just for the customer service but the knowledge everyone has. placing a custom order is easy and the jewelry showed up quick. they didnt have my length of industrial bar in stock so we ordered it. I couldnt have been more happy with everything.

We took our seven year old here for ear piercing (youngest professional place to do it in SC.)They were extremely professional and courteous, taking plenty of time to make her feel comfortable and walk her through all the steps.I highly recommend, and may be getting some more piercings here in my old age!

This place is GREAT and I highly recommend! My bestie and I both came here to get pierced because that is what they only do and we didnt want to go to a tattoo shop to get it done (even though we both have tattoos as well). Its super clean, staff is really awesome and Dan did my tragus and her nose. I was really nervous and I asked him how is a tragus compared to a tongue because her and I had both gotten that done nearly 20 years ago. He ensured me that the tragus is not nearly as bad as the tongue so if I endured that, this is nothing to worry about.

Very kind guys, Adam is very professional, he explains all procedures, checks if you qualify for the procedure and gives you options. They also have a variety of nice and fine jewelry. Shop looks nice and clean, definitely Ill recommend to my friends.

This might be the best piercing studio Ive been to. It was SOOO clean. They sterilized my piercings. They sterilized my ear correctly (let the Betadine solution dry before piercing) and placed my helix and faux rook piercings perfectly! It is a little pricy, but so worth it. Thanks guys! You rock!

They were awesome! Adam was super skilled and knew exactly what he was doing. He was super knowledgable and gave me advice and suggestions to help me get exactly what I wanted! The actual piercing was unbelievably smooth and barely hurt at all!

Hands down the best jewelry.I live in Napa but come to Santa Cruz for getaways twice a year and only shop here for piecing. Totally worth the wait even when I start itching for a new piecing.

This is the platonic ideal of business experiences for me. I made my appointment online and it auto added to my calendar, I showed up and the piercers were super professional and efficient and kind and the whole operation was smoothly sensibly done and I really honestly liked going here, it was a pleasure

I really wanted to like this place. They have such beautiful jewelry and I loved that they focus solely on piercing. HOWEVER- multiple issues have forced me to write this, which says a lot becuz I literally NEVER review places.1ST PROBLEM: 1st time I went I got my lobes pierced. The cashier pulled out a few different posts for me to look at before I decided on TEAL. Well they never showed me the jewelry to confirm she pulled out the correct ones (& I didn’t ask cuz I didn’t think it’d b necessary) before sending to the sanitizer, or before putting them in my ears (hence making them un-returnable). Lo and behold, I look in the mirror and have CLEAR studs. I decided not to say anything bc I was w my Mom & figured the clear ones looked pretty good anyway.NEXT PROBLEM: as we leave the cashier says “make sure u come back in 3 weeks so that we can put in shorter posts for u, no appointment necessary!” Saying it as if it was an automatic switch. When I go all the way back down there in 3wks the cashier tells me it’s $38 for shorter posts? What? Nothing was mentioned about PAYING for the switch and that sucks because it’s a bit of a drive from my house. Whatever I’ll stick with the long. But u guys should seriously say that people should “come back in 3weeks to BUY shorter posts for $40” I’ve never gotten my lobes pierced at a shop so excuse me if that’s common knowledge but as a “specialty shop”, maybe u guys should b more informative for those of us who don’t feel like dishing out an unnecessary $40NEXT PROBLEM: got an email direct from Amory saying, verbatim: “Happy birthday! 10% off your next jewelry purchase of $100 or more” I went in a few weeks later and was talking to the cashier about how I had that coupon (which I specifically referenced and quoted) and wanted to get a cartilage ring and one more set of studs to make it reach $100 and get the discount. I finally picked the TEAL studs (let’s try this again) and said, verbatim: “I’m gonna go with the teal, the biggest ones please” (there are 3 size crystals for each color). Once again she didn’t show me the jewelry before sending back to the piercer nor did he confirm they pulled the right ones before he put them in my ear. But I figured the 1st time must’ve been a fluke and there was no way they’d screw up my specific & clear request yet again. LO AND BEHOLD, I look in the mirror after he’s put them in (therefore making them mine forever) and she gave me the SMALLEST size crystal! I’m so pissed but was late for work so I say screw it that’s what I get for putting any confidence in them after last timeNEXT PROBLEM: I go back to cashier to pay when some black haired lady walks up from the back room covered in piercings giving me a very smug, rude expression. She says “that coupon actually can’t be applied to this purchase because it’s only for if you purchase a single piece of jewelry that itself is $100 or more.” I said “I like how u don’t tell me this until AFTER they’ve already been put in my ears” (SERIOUSLY?!) then she says “I guess we can give you the 10% off but now u know for next time”, as if she’s doing me a FAVOR by granting me the coupon that I mentioned I was using from the gate. I’m trying to give u people $150 ($350 including the first visit) and this is what I get? Awful. “Now u know for next time” she says ??? There won’t b a next time!NEXT PROBLEM: she concludes by saying “____ is training, she didn’t know about the coupon” I forget the name or else I def would mention it. but NO- don’t blame the trainee, it’s YOUR fault for apparently not training correctly! NOWHERE in that email does it say anything about a single piece of jewelry needing to b $100, it says “jewelry purchase” so maybe u guys should revise that. “Happy birthday from Amory” indeed.

I went to get a belly button piercing a while ago and they told me that if we did it it would not last very long and I wouldn’t be happy with it due to the way my belly button is. I have lots of respect for the fact that they were super honest and didnt do it for me!

Dan is an incredible piercer. He is careful, gentle and precise. Ive gotten 2 piercings here with Dan and plan to get more!
