I have been looking for a tattoo artist/studio to help me craft a coverup design for my first tattoo. My style leans more realism so I was looking for someone with skill in details, and I fell in love with the work of Alex & Jacob from their Instagram accounts. My fiancé and I decided to check them out for our matching tattoo of our two dogs, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. We called and planned a design session to start, which helped calm my nerves with an art review over zoom before we came in and had our tattoos done simultaneously. Alex did an amazing job with my fiancé on his first tattoo & Jacob did a phenomenal job with my smaller version. I even added on an additional little tattoo because I was having such a great experience. We left the seats incredibly pleased and already have our next tattoo sessions planned 😎👌 After two iffy tattoo experiences at other places, Dzul Ink Lounge provided everything I was hoping for - design help for a custom look, modern technology to make the final product stunning & excellent skill by the tattoo artists.Highly recommend checking these guys out for your next ink session!

Staff was friendly and place was nice. Artist was pretty good but also slow. Rates are far too high, they will give you a range and you should just plan for paying at the top of that range. You can find many better artists for cheaper.EDIT: I feel like I should be more clear about my experience here and why Im giving two stars. The place is nice. It is a premium experience. The staff is friendly and the artists and designers are clearly skilled. I agreed to the price and cant argue with what I paid. The artists was slow, but the tattoo itself is very good.So why only two stars? Im not complaining about the price just to be salty. This review is for anyone looking for tattoo artists, Dzul is not worth the price. I figured that a premium tattoo would cost a premium price, so I agreed not knowing because it was my first tattoo. I should have done more research, and after having worked with other artists I have found that this kind of premium experience is not worth the price Dzul charges anywhere on earth. Seattle has many talented artists, who are great people and provide amazing experiences. I would say I have preferred my experiences at other places, but this is a personal preference. However, they charge not even close to the price Dzul charges. Im talking multiple grand difference in price, for the same skill level. So for anyone looking at this, please do more research on local artists. They are great, still provide premium experiences and deserve your support. I paid $800 for a custom tattoo from with more ink versus the over $3000 I paid for my tattoo from Dzul. Whenever I tell literally anyone, from regular people to experienced artists, they are flabbergasted at what I paid, and its frankly embarrassing that I agreed to the price thinking that I needed to pay that much for quality. You can get that same quality at other places in and around Seattle without getting ripped off. Please support other artists and dont go to Dzul, they deserve your support more.

I was referred to Dzul Ink by a friend from work. After looking at the artwork on their website I knew that I wanted Alex to do my dark romance book tattoo. I didn’t have a picture of what I wanted I only new what elements I wanted in the tattoo and the placement. When I had my first art workup sit down, I was blown away by what they came up with. They were great at offering changes to the design so it would accentuate the part of my body it was going on. They were never pushy or uncooperative when I suggested changes or tweaks to the design. During the tattoo process the staff went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and at ease the entire time. Alex was great he would always ask how I was doing and if I needed a break. When the final session was done, I was speechless with the result. I love every bit of it!! Alex truly captured the dark theme that I wanted and really made the elements come alive. Hey! Elizabeth here. Canadian from the northeast and here is my review:Prior to visiting Seattle and area, I researched tattoo artists in region. The Dzul brothers’ tattoo portfolio certainly stood out; both Jacob and Alejandro’s work had awesome designs, brilliant black and whites and vibrant colours. I was imagining myself getting a tattoo of Sedna, sea goddess, but that idea went out the window because of life events and I really wanted to get a tattoo in memory of my mother and my grandmother (as my mother passed away a month before my Seattle trip). When I visited the Dzul Ink Lounge, I was able to sit down and have a consultation and share my vision with a member of the Dzul Team. I shared several photos to give an idea of what I wanted, but I did not have anything concrete on paper. I had a positive, friendly interaction and I was provided helpful advice. Upon my second consultation, I was provided a beautiful design that would become my second ink. I was also provided choices in terms of size and minor design changes. I was totally blissed out the Dzul Team was able to take my vision and put it on paper! You gals rock!!! Hours later, I was sitting in a Dzul chair, delighted and content to be getting a very special memorable tattoo by a first rate tattoo artist who is extremely talented and skilled. I am currently taking care of my tattoo with aftercare advice provided to me and it is healing nicely. That you Jacob and Family! I wear my tattoo with pride and I am so proud to share my tattoo with my family, friends and now the world too!!!

I came here for some blackout and custom design pieces. Trust me their work is worth the money. Alex has done my whole sleeve and part of it was a cover up. And he takes his time to make sure that you are happy with everything before he starts. The girls at the front are also very sweet and take their time to make sure everything is all set. Evan, at the shop also takes wonderful pictures of the work you get done. The shop also does everything to make sure you are comfortable getting tattooed. They have taken their time to make sure my designs have been exactly what I want.Yes, you pay more than other shops but you are paying for quality work and custom designs, so the artwork, time, and overall outcome are worth the money! I mean it’s for life …so I am all about getting a quality tattoo, and this is exactly what I have gotten. I have been getting tattooed for years now and this is by far the cleanest most organized shop I have ever been to.Alex is an incredible talented artist and his work speaks for itself. Wife and I were visiting Seattle. Asked if they do walk-ins. Looked through their flashes, and asked for 3-4 inch tattoo with simple line work and mild shading. Having over 20 tats, Im thinking this cant take too long to do and it cant be too wild or detailed cuz again....walk in. Im also well aware of paying an artist for their hard work. After asking the front desk for an estimate, I was blown away when they told me $900 for just lines and $1500 w/ shading. Now dont get me wrong, I get the artist has to eat, but $900-$1500 for a walk-in is crazy. Off a walk-in???!

The only thing keeping this from a 5-star is that I ended up having to wait nearly an hour past my appointment time as the artist was running very late, and wish I could have gotten that time back, but otherwise, this is a phenomenal studio and a talented team. When the tattoo gods tell me what my next tattoo should be, Ill head on back to Dzul!

I went in to add to an existing tattoo from another artist (for reference to the pictures - I only had the broom when I went in) I got my tattoo at Dzul with Alejandro back in October. I took so long to write a review because Ive been trying to forget about the whole experience, but people should be cautious and aware of this business before going in. I went in a month in advance to get a quote and discuss a design. My original idea was quoted much higher than I wanted to pay ($1200+), and I expressed that. In order to schedule an appointment you have to put down a non-refundable deposit, which I decided to do because its almost impossible to get a spot with an artist these days (first mistake-take the time to find the right artist even if it means youre waiting months to get in).The next day, I emailed them a new/much smaller (about 1/4 of what I originally went in for) design and requested an updated quote. After 2 weeks of no one reaching out and only 2 weeks before my scheduled tattoo appointment, I phoned them myself for the quote. The lady on the phone quoted me at $350 and I thought thats perfect. I did an art review the next week via Skype and the design wasnt even finished for the review so there was little to discuss, another waste of time. I was also very disappointed that not only do they create all of their designs on the computer (no hand drawings), but the person doing your tattoo is not the same person designing the art. Both of these aspects makes your art lack a lot of creativity and intimacy. I prefer to work with the artist on the design and have them put their own touch on it, but instead, they just took my drawing and did an almost exact recreation of it on the computer, and that was the piece (remember - no refunds on the deposit). The day of the appointment, I had a 3 hour time slot (their suggestion, not mine), and since the art wasnt finished on my review date, a couple of adjustments needed to be made to it. Instead of doing this right away so I could get started, they helped everyone else that came in after me. Not only that, but then the artist decided to take an hour break so after 1.5 hours, I finally got started. An hour later, we were done. Going up to pay, and they were charging me now $900, saying the lady who gave me the $350 quote didnt update the system so no one knew about it. The artist and Im assuming part owner, was in the background listening saying he wouldnt have even touched me for that price. The lady that helped me tried to play the hes a professional, all of the details and line work he did is what the price covers. I honestly couldnt believe it, but this company completely robbed me. Not only that, but the line work is absolutely shotty (too thick in some areas, too thin others) and already fading and theres very minimal details in it.I would 100% not recommend this company unless youre looking for something very basic and you double, triple check that you are being quoted properly before going in and getting started. Because there are so many people working at the front desk handling the art and quotes that things obviously get lost easily and they take no responsibility for any mistakes and actually care so little for the customers, just whats in your wallet.

Dealing with this company is absolutely infuriating. Not only did they try and refuse to do any colour on me because I am black (right at first sight), I had to prove too them that my skin already takes colour with previous tattoos done. Despite my various budgets none of the artists where really interested in giving me something that I fully wanted or having the decency too tell me that they didn’t even want too do my pieces at all. I had to pay for a cover up, colour, and retouch from a different shop; due to the fact that no one cared to give me a decent tattoo in the first place. I requested a conversation with the shop owners-in regarding my awful service received there-and practically three weeks later: after having to prove to them that I actually got work from the place (because they buried my information and couldn’t find it), talking to a new receptionist who made me figure everything out on my own instead of just finding a time in which the owners could speak to me like I initially asked, I still haven’t gotten that conversations, and am fed up.For a shop that is advertised as diverse they sure are discriminatory against black people and they will not tattoo melanated skin unless it’s in black and gray only. The receptionist are incompetent, belligerent, have no decent social skills whatsoever, and are agonizing to deal with. Don’t even bother getting work from this place if you’re a minority and especially if you’re black. This place should be ashamed of themselves; if I could give them 0 stars I for sure would.*In the photo set: the first image is what I walked out with freshly done (although it was nothing that I wanted, and certainly not in colour despite my budget), the second image is how bad it healed down (something I expressed to the artist and receptionist that I couldn’t solely hold onto just line work), and the third image is the touchup/correction/colour ( if you can’t see the mistake look at the fact that the guy character actually has a shirt instead of just some random lines)*

A unique approach: you first work with full-time art designers to brainstorm on your ideas and come up with a tattoo-compatible design that corresponds exactly to your vision. This design is then passed on to the tattoo artists for an exact replication using stencils. You can be sure that what you see is what you get! (proportions, colors, design). This review is long over due...my cousin and I came here for finger tattoos. We reviewed the design and then had to wait 45 minutes for our artist. We were warned about the placement and how it could wear off/need a touch up in 6 months. The artist recommended doing it on the knuckle, which my cousin did. I decided to do it on the inside of my finger. However, no matter what the placement was, they both wore off in 3 weeks. We paid $140 EACH for tattoos that took about 10 minutes to complete...I inquired about a free touch up and they denied it. Once again, we knew the risk of getting finger tattoos but never thought they would come off in three weeks. We truly thought we were paying for quality. Extremely disappointed in the price paid, outcome, and lack of ownership for a bad job done. See photos for before and after.

I got a nose piercing at this shop a few months before the pandemic began and had a memorably unpleasant experience. After having 4+ piercings in the past, this is the only place where the piercer (a woman, possible French or Spanish accent?) was rude to me and bad at her job. She had trouble getting the jewelry in several times, blaming the shape of my nose (I have a normal nose, never broken, no issues whatsoever) and trying to force it in. The whole experience was extremely painful and I ended up with blood running down my face. Again, never had an experience like this when getting my lip or septum done in the past. The piercing fell out a few days later, too. I wish I had written my review then, but chose not to pursue it because I didnt have the confidence to advocate for myself at the time.Hopefully their staff doesnt blame their ineptitude on the client anymore, but Im not optimistic. Notice that they rarely reply or apologize to negative reviews. It says a lot about their character.

Ridiculously over priced! I got a quote for a cover up of a 4”x4” tattoo. The coverup piece was larger, not a full half sleeve but close to it. They quoted me $3,500-$6,000. First, that’s a massively large range. For a tattoo that should take ~12 hours, that is absolutely ridiculous. The tattoo artists also do not draw their own designs, they use a “design team” to do the designs and then hand it off to the artists. That may be fine for some people but was super weird in my book and a red flag for me.I don’t doubt that their artists do good work, but…not $500 an hour good work. There are similar quality artists out there that do not price gouge like this.I kept two stars because the staff was friendly and professional and the shop appeared very clean.

Havent gone here or gotten a piercing here but I AM an ex piercer and, them charging $100 for one nostril piercing is absolute extortion. I usually an pretty polite but I cackled over the phone when they said $100 for one nostril. I dont care if theyre all surgeons with PhDs, that price is an absolute SCAM. Piercing gate needs to be added to tattoo gate. This is almost as ridiculous as that girl who charged thousands for a tattoo consultation and then plagiarized the finished product.. everywhere else its $35-$50, which is normal, Id have even been willing to go to $60-$70. Many places try to sell themselves as better than everyone and thats why were expensive when theyre just scammers. Boycott pretentious tattoo&piercing shops like this. Theyre just gentrifiers. Theres only one way to pierce. Needle through skin. Its not rocket science. Love- an ex piercer with 13yrs under my belt.Edit: if a majority of the reviews are split between 1&5, it just goes to show that those 5* reviews were paid for. The *1 reviews told me exactly what I thought. Im glad their prices pushed me away before I made the mistake of booking here.

Both artists are extremely gifted and my tattoos came out pristine, however what really blew me away was the process leading up to the tattoos. The digital artists are literal wizards as they took the sloppy ideas I gave them, and turned them into something clean and professional, better than what i had imagined. They were patient with my tweaks to their designs and we had great talks discussing ideas. That process and their skill in the digital design world is what really set the foundation for my tattoos to turn out badass. Then, obviously both Jacob and Alex are extremely talented, so the tattoos came out flawless. Their attention to detail was absurd, and I had no idea tattoos could look this detailed and realistic. I actually had to get my older tattoos touched up by them to elevate the rest of my ink to their level of work. Dzul really made me feel welcome and at home. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, loved the work. Would definitely recommend.I cant comment on the price as its been a decade since Ive had work done and my piece was highly detailed so I spent a lot. I feel like the price is fair for the quality of work that will be on my body forever.I was a bit uncomfortable putting such a large deposit down before I saw the art but they offered a review before and gave me the opportunity to change some things. And Im loving the work so far!

Bottom line up front, I cannot recommend this place. The one upside is that you are able to get in quickly and the employees are polite to talk to. However, that is where the positives end.Dzul quoted and scheduled me for 14 hours’ worth of sessions, stating that each would be billed based on the work done each session. However, when I got my tattoo, it only took a tiny bit over 2 hours. They then proceeded to say the total for the session, subtracting their $500 deposit that counted towards the cost, was $2900. Meaning they charge over $1300 per hour for a tattoo. This was completely absurd and is clear dishonesty and price gouging as even the most well-known artists in the state do not charge rates more than $300 an hour. There is no acceptable reason to bill at 630% of the quoted rate.I honestly do not know what else to say other than this. Be aware of this place, even if their art portfolios look good.UPDATE: It seems that they are screwing over more people since I have left my review. They claim that their veteran artists justify the cost even though the receptionist designs the tattoos on the computer. Their work fades quickly and does not last (even with following aftercare directions exactly). Do not go here, they are scam artists that will screw you out of everything.

This place was all around disappointing. Received a quote for $2000 for a traditional Japanese dragon head on my inner bicep (4 x 3) with touch ups to an existing tattoo on my tricep and shoulder to blend everything in. Was told it would be an original piece but, when I came in, I found the Exact dragon head in one of their design books. I decided to just go with the touch-up as I didnt want a copy of someone elses work and also didnt want to lose my $400 deposit. I was then told they could do the touch-up for $1200 as the artist understood I wasnt impressed with the design of the new piece. On the day of the tattoo, after showing up an hour late to our appointment, the artist told me he could only do part of the touch up for $1200 and it would cost $2000 for what we had agreed upon the day prior (keep in mind my original quote was $2000 for the new tattoo + the touch up and this new quote was only for a touch up). Again, didnt want to lose my deposit so I just went with it. A month later I scheduled a follow-up appointment to clean up some of the line work/shading and, on the drive to the appointment, I called to confirm whether the artist was ready and they told me they had actually moved my appointment back 2 hours but had forgotten to let me know.... So I waited downtown and showed up at the new time and was then told he had to squeeze in three tattoos before my appointment.. the receptionist told me hed be wrapped up in 15 min. An hour later I asked if they were ready and was told itd be 15 more minutes... This went on for a while and, in total, it ended up being 3 hours of waiting. Overall, this place seems like a money grab and theres a big disconnect between the receptionists, designers and artists - I would not recommend Dzul Ink Lounge.

Unprofessional, bait and switch, money hungry. Extremely disappointment in this shop.I was quoted back in December for a piece with a range $1400-1800. Jacob spent 4 hours tattooing me before he decided to mention that he thought a price increase was in order. Told me 15 minutes before the shop closed that my tattoo would be roughly $1000 more than what I was quoted. That I would have to come back in another day and pay $300 for a station setup fee in addition to the rest of the tattoo quote he made up as I was sitting in the chair. Also, a couple of ladies walked in to get a a penny sized tattoo on their ears, alex charged them over $300. Just wild. They take advantage of their location in the city to charge outrageous rates for basic work.I’d been financing this tattoo for a while because I was willing to spend a little bit more to have a capable artist tattoo me. This image that I had of this shop being a professional one was proved wrong by multiple accounts.Artist showed up an hour and a half after my schedule appointment time, took a ridiculous amount of breaks, which accounted for at least an hour/maybe 1.5h of my session. He proceeded to tell me he had never even looked at my tattoo design until I had arrived that day.The shops complete lack of preparation and professionalism should not have fallen back on my wallet.I wrote an email discussing my dissatisfaction a week after my appointment back in February and the shop has made no effort of acknowledgment or reconciliation/apology in the past month. The shop owners have a very bad reputation amounts young artists and other local shops. Stay far away from this shop. They’ll screw you over.

Dzul Ink is a fantastic experience. The artistry of Alexs tattoos is the best. The lounge is 100% in every way, from the staffs welcome, the atmosphere, cleanliness, artistry and technique, and most importantly the process of tattooing. This piece started as my idea (vague at best) and was drawn/redrawn, sized and inked all with Alex and his staff. I didnt know that what I wanted could be captured so well by an artist and then inked so perfectly! Some of the little things that mean alot to me; Alex doesnt let mistakes happen, he shares his knowledge to ensure your tattoo is perfect, especially when I was unsure or didnt know what to do. I let experts tell me what to do, and not the other way around and Alex is an expert. Also, the culture in this shop is special, the people love working here, and it makes for a good feeling/vibes when you are getting inked. This is a superb place to get a tattoo, whether its your first or you are looking for an ultimate piece!

I would not recommend the place to anyone who’s looking for a decent service. I came for an ear piercing, however, for no reason, Cata was very bossy and rude to me, also kept rolling her eyes to me when I pointed out I had difficult time to understand. So I didn’t do the piercing with her because of that. However, they would not refund your deposit because they only have one piercing artist. So no alternatives. You will spend 20 dollar to see Cata rolls her eye. Please take this into consideration before booking an appointment.Reply for the business owner’s reply:Thanks for the reply, however, I’m not sure how Cata explained, I DID NOT touch the area after she asked me to not touch it, I only touched it because she said my last piercing was not in the center, nevertheless, she rolled her eyes to me multiple times and did not show any respect. So is Cata suppose to roll her eyes to all customers? Or just to me? Regarding the the sanitation you mentioned in the reply, does 3 tiny alcohol wipes cost 20 dollars? I can buy boxes of that for $20. What your reply just showed you do not care about customer experience or feedback. Again, will never visit this place again and will not recommend to anyone.

This place was honestly the best! I came in for a consultation for a cover-up. They listened to what I wanted and took it to the next level. I was nervous about coming in because of my previous experience with shops being rude and cold. I met with Janae who help take down my ideas and explain the process of cover-ups. She then went to discuss it over and get me a quote. I was a little taken back by the price but there are 3 things to not go budget on: divorce lawyers, plastic surgery, AND tattoos. I wanted it done right and wanted something Im proud.I came in nervous and they were so sweet, friendly, and offered me a beverage. I love that they want you to be super comfortable because after all, you are there most of the day and interacting with staff. You can tell the staff enjoys what they do and they are constantly juggling the creative design, social media, and having fun with customers. Bella presented me with the most beautiful design that it felt like she read my mind. I didnt have any changes really just played with placement and adding a few details.I thought the initial appt. was going to take a few sessions, but we were able to get it all done in one go. Alex made me feel super comfortable, which is so important when your in personal space for hours. He is super professional, a master at his craft, and very laid back. They took my 300$ and no tattoo, I came in for a in person consultation to make sure they understood what I wanted, Aimee took measurements of the area that I wanted and spoke to the artist about it to come up with a quote for me, they quoted me 900-1200 for the piece which I agreed to and left a 300$ deposit, on Thursday April 4th I had my art review so again I came in to look over the art work and again they took measurements of my forearm and told me that everything was in order and we were good to go, I came in April 6th and all of the sudden my quote changed from 900-1200 to 2200 dollars, that is double the price to which I told them I understand quotes can change but doubling the price is absurd, I asked if I could get a refund since they could not do the tattoo for the price they had quoted me but they refused and kept trying to make it seem like i didnt communicate well with them about what i wanted, they did not offer any real solutions only thing I got from them was that they could do the outline of a tattoo for 1200, why would I pay 1200 for an outline? So now I am out 300 dollars and no tattoo they really did take advantage of me.

This place is a RIP-OFF & SCAM, period! The girls working the front will quote you a diff price from what the Artist thinks it should cost. Janee quoted me at $1500-$2000 for a wrap-around tattoo of a dragon. Then, after I paid my deposit ($275) and she changed it to $1800 - $2000. I told her that Id forego the details just to lower the price as I was more concerned with the size. So my Zoom mtg came around and I worked with another girl (Jessica). The girls working the front do all the computerized photo edits of your desired tattoo rather than the artist drawing or sketching (yet, they claim to be of quality work and thats why they cost more than other shops). Jessica tells me that shell have a chat with the artist about my ideas and concerns and shell call me back days later. Well, not only did they forget to call me back (I had to be the one to call them), it turns out Jessica was off the day she was going to call me and Janee ended up having the 2nd Zoom mtg with me which was a waste of time because Jessica NEVER spoke to the artist (Jacob) at all. Janee was on the phone with me for about 5 mins to basically show me the head piece of the dragon that Jessica re-did via the computer (they basically have no originality and take things form Google and call that your piece). I show up on my appt date and that was the first time the artist really heard about my idea and, to make a long story short, charged me $2,400 (before tax and tip. After tax and tip it came out to about $2,800). He (Jacob) said his price is the ultimate deciding factor (not what the girls quoted me). I went along with it because I tend to be impatient (when I want something I just go with my impulse decision knowing Id regret it later -- a bad habit of mine). I still tipped Jacob $200 even after a ridiculous amount of about $2900 including tax, tip, parking in DT, Seattle). Also, the girls will tell you itll take the artist a long time (was given 3pm - 8pm time slot) to make it sound like its really quality work. They dont tell you the artist will show up 1.5 hrs later and the artist will say his battery died so has to take a break, etc. When all is said and done, it was really about 2.5 hrs of work that I paid $2900 for.For a not-so-detailed piece taken from Google and a chaotic and unorganized team at DZUL, I absolutely say, Go with them at your own RISK!!! Beware!!! Rip-off and SCAM!!!Ill let KARMA work its course...

Said she had been piercing for 20 years. My first visit she pierced my left nipple incorrectly. Upon my return, After 15 mins of unnecessary back and forth where I had to really advocate for myself in order for her to take some accountability and not charge me again, she agreed to re pierce it for free so I paid a removal fee and made an appointment. Shortly after I realized the right piercing was sinking into the hole. So I had to have it removed as well for a fee. No apology or acknowledgement that she had chosen jewelry that was too small. Over $500 wasted and tons of pain. I was about to spend thousands more on some tats over the next year but now will be looking for another shop. Very disappointing. Would not recommend.

Appointment booking was easy and friendly. The artist took my concept and made it perfect. My tattoo artists work was amazing and I cant recommend them more for the work that they do. However, the overall experience leaves me never wanting to go back, not even for my free touch ups for the 90 days offered. My appointment time was at 10:30, the artist did not show up until 11:45 and the tattoo did not start until 12:20 after set up. I accepted that, while it was mildly annoying. They originally quoted me up to 7 hours and between $1,300 and $1,800, which was high but not an uncommon quote, so I did it since they get great reviews. By the time the tattoo was over it was 3:00, so in total appointment time it qas 4.5 hours, total tattoo time 3.5 hours. I was excited to he done early. I go up to pay and she said it was going to be $1,600 since I already put down my deposit she said. Which brings my total to $1,850...even higher than the higher end of the quote. Here is where my fault comes to play...I am not confrontational and I just smiled and paid. When I left  panicked over what happened I realized I paid about $400 an hour, which is insane and it took half the time. I emailed them because I found two things I wanted touched up ad ad offer 80 days of free touch ups, and emailed them asking why it was so expensive when it took half the time. Not asking for a refund as I know I signed and accepted it but just needed to know...and I have since received no response. When qe were working together on the tattoo they were very responsive via email..but now nothing..and I do not anticipate a response or touch ups. I say go there for the amazing work and dont make my mistake..get an hourly quote. I love my tattoo...but it is not an $1,800 tattoo by any means...except for thats what I freaking paid.Took the rating down to a 1 because they finally responded and their reasoning is just as ridiculous as their prices.

They said they could accommodate me and to send an email with a photo of the tattoo. Great! I did. They asked for some follow-up information, which I provided. TWO WEEKS LATER I get a call from the shop letting me know that they are booked solid and cant help me before my date, despite their original promise which was the only reason I was okay waiting two weeks for a response in the first place. I could have been looking elsewhere, but because I was told I would be able to have the work done I didnt, leaving me with less than a week to scramble and find someone else. So unprofessional.Updated after business response: Im honestly glad I didnt leave a deposit with this place-- I would have, too, had the shop communicated with me in anything resembling a timely manner, but I was left hanging after providing the information they asked for. I called initially ready to make a deposit and book an appointment. They said they needed a picture and a description of my goals. I provided it. They emailed me back saying that theyd love to help and provided a description of the work to be done, and asked for a phone number to comfirm. I gave them that, too. I waited, they forgot about me, booked other appointments over the time span I needed, and then had the gall to come on here and suggest that the fact that I hadnt put down a deposit is the result of anything but terrible communication and customer service. After reading some of the SEVERAL OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS it looks like I seriously dodged a bullet. It doesnt change the fact that they wasted my time when I specifically told them I was on a tight schedule, at least I didnt waste any money on this place. If you value communication and want to work with someone who values your time and treats you with respect-- and you should, given the permanence of a tattoo parlors work-- definitely look elsewhere.

In return I asked how much do their artists charge by the hour to ensure I wasn’t being over charged or given a price at the top of my proposed budget. They said they charge by the specific piece and not by the hour. Long of the short I was quoted 9-12 THOUSAND dollars! If I broke that down to let’s say $200/hr I’m being charged for 60 hours of work on the high end!!!!! We all know this would take 60 hours!! What a scam this place is. I would give them zero stars if I could. I booked my appointment after my consultation. They quoted me $2,300 so I put $250 down and signed the contract they have saying price may vary depending on what the artist thinks and deposit are non refundable. I made a big mistake signing that. I get a call six days before my scheduled appointment saying that the new price would be $3,000 to $3,500 for my half sleeve tattoo. I declined on that price and asked for my deposit back. They claimed I would loose my $250 because I didnt agree with the inflated price increase. It looks like what the scam is here. They have you meet with some office person they give you a low-ball quote and then when the artist gets around to looking at the size, scale, ect, they raise the price on you. Keep in mind you already put the deposit down and signed the contract saying deposit are non refundable. This seems to be a very unethical business model. I would never recommend this tattoo shop to anyone. This is the experience I had.

Two stars because I had previous good experiences with their piercer, Cata. My grievance is their rescheduling policy. I had to reschedule a tattoo appointment the day before because I developed contact dermititis on and around the site I wanted it done. I understand the 48hr rescheduling policy where they keep your deposit if you reschedule too close to your appointment date under normal circumstances, but I didnt have a rash two days before my appointment! Youd think that they would make an exception for a medical issue since its not like I can come in anyway and get tattooed over my rash. But no, they only offered a shallow apology and kept my hundred dollar deposit. Unprofessional and unacceptable. No matter, at least they wont be getting more from me.

I was just visiting seattle and after convincing my mom to let me get a nose ring, we headed over to Dzul. I had Cata and she was such a sweat heart! She explained everything super thoroughly and re-assured me it would be fine. The piercing took 10 minutes in total. The staff is welcoming and the parlor is both clean and has a good ambience. It was virtually painless and I am so happy with the result. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to get a piercing.

I liked Dzul Ink Lounge. Id never been there before, but I heard a good thing about them from someone and thought Id try it out.My tattoo artist was Emma, and it was always fun going to each of my 3 or 4 appointments or however long it took to finish up the sleeve idea I wanted. She has a meticulous eye for detail and so much talent. She gives off this really kind and good energy too, which is important to me these days when letting someone come near me with ink.I didnt have a specific vision in mind, but based off my consultation Emma came up with one before I even walked in for the first session and went over it with me to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. I only tweaked it a little with the choice of color and some other thing; she was both insightful and accommodating about that. The lead artist/owner was awesome too, as well as the other tattooist working there. Theyd check up on what she was up to from time to time and seemed to like consult each other about it or something. It was clear each of them takes their customers tattoos very seriously, and I liked that. Even the piercer and front desk staff would occasionally come over to check out the work and chat me up for a minute, which was always cool.Being there, it became apparent to me why this place is getting more popular. This shop seems to house only pros, and I hope they always continue to attract a lot of customers. Im not disappointed or regretful of the money I spent. The end result of Emmas work is pretty spectacular, and Im both grateful and proud to carry this design around with me throughout my life. Its not the cheapest shop in Washington but quality is never cheap. Dzul seems like some laid-back, more affordable, and non-pretentious version of Nordstroms in the tattoo world of Seattle, not a Walmart.I highly recommend this parlor if you have some extra cash and want truly good work done by good people. Dzuls price is absolutely worth the finished design and positive experience.^^^^^Id share an image of what I got but Im not really into doing that.

My fiance and I were having a really hard time finding someone local to do our tattoos (yakima county) because it was on such short notice. We wanted couples tats, and agreed on getting a rose on our right forearm. Nothing big or fancy because it was her first tattoo ever. Everywhere we called we were told booked until may booked until late april. We then decided to look beyond our horizon and stumbled across Dzul Ink Lounge. The artwork displayed on Google is astonishing and immediately caught our eye. Hoping that we could get a walkin or at least an appointment that same day, we gave them a call. Turns out, one of the artists, (owner/all around amazing guy) had some free time later in the afternoon and agreed to take a gander out what we wanted done. Luckily It was small enough that he was able to get both of us in the same day, and both tattoos done with in an hour each. When we arrived we were greeted with nothing but the best of respect, and positivity. Walking in those doors really made you feel welcomed. The artwork displayed on their walls is incredible. All in all it was the best first experience for both me and my fiance, and definitely worth the 2 and a half hour drive. He had the lightest touch while he was doing the piece, it was almost like the needle was never there. The best part was that the whole time, he conversated. This is definitely going to be the regular place for us. If I could give this a 10 star review, yall would have it In no time. Amazing work.

Every time Ive gone to get a tattoo I felt as though I wasnt quite cool enough to be there. I accepted subpar service as a result. Alex and his family have completely changed the experience of getting a tattoo. I wanted a particular piece and was receiving a lot of pushback from other shops. When I reached out to Dzul Ink I was first struck by how professional they were. Ive come to realize that they are artists first. Alex was very warm and willing to work with me on what I wanted. And this finished piece is one of my most beloved ones. Alex even found a spelling error that was missed by five other proofreaders! Needless to say Im very grateful. The shop is open and friendly and the sense of family is very strong.Ive decided that this is the only place I will go to get tattoos in the future Im even planning my next piece now. They put a lot of time and energy into being reputable and professional and deserve credit for it. Everyone who comes in is treated with respect and made to feel comfortable. They do regular promotions as well. Also unique, the brothers have some great airbrush skills and do really amazing jalloween makewup so worth checking out their social media. The studio itself features revolving art shows- ive bought small pieces here too and happy with the art that comes thrpugh. Not a hipster lounge but a professional shop and gallery.

My cat passed away a month ago at theage of 3. In memorial, I wanted a portrait of him. I looked through 30 different artist before finding 2 that I thought could do justice to his memory. I made the appointment for 3 weeks in advance. I requested time off to heal, because it was a large tattoo on my chest (a sensitive spot). As I am a very physical person and my job is very taxing, this was important.I scheduled the appointment for Tuesday after work (I get off at 1pm) and gave myself Wednesday through Friday off.We got to my appointment 30 minutes early because parking can be a pain. However. As I was walking in, I got a call pushing back mt appointment an hour because the artist (Jacob) was running late. okay. It happens. After 2 and a half hours of waiting we were told Jacob wouldnt be in that day. So we rescheduled for Thursday at noon. Directly at opening. Now, I do believe that Jacob is a very talented artist and once we got started (at 1pm) I was confident in his ability. My tattoo ended up better than I could have hoped. However, I was offered no monitary compensation for my lost time, lost work, and the over $40 in parking I paid for over the 2 days. I had to reorganize my life around the new time, and it wasnt even brought up.Again. I love my tattoo and Jacob did AMAZING. Really. But If youre planning a big piece (mine took almost 3 hours) Make sure to plan time because he will likely be late....

To be fair - they accommodated me and my schedule making an appt. for me an hour before they usually open. That being said;I wanted a watercolor type tattoo. I specifically said no black. i wanted the simple wave in teal and the sun in orange and yellow. He kept trying to talk me into black outlines to make it pop. I had to fight to keep the sun from being outlined, I caved on the wave but said i wanted it to be delicate. I shouldnt have given in. Neither is what I really wanted. I sent artwork in and was told they would send me artwork back for review. The review ended up being while I was sitting there. It was not a comfortable or very good experience. The thing that really got me... I paid $285 for those two tattoos. Once they are healed I will likely have to find someone that can fix them up for me.

Me and my friend are visiting Seattle and were looking to get tattoos for her 22nd birthday. We called and were told that the shop minimum was $85. We sent them pictures of what we wanted. Very simple, no color, barely any shading, very small. We were told a wide range of $125-$225. Our impression was we were going to pay $100-$150. We were not told our total until after we got our tattoos done. We were charged $275 each + tip. We tried to talk to them and see what exactly we were paying for and why it was so expensive. We asked for a pricing sheet or a breakdown and They only told us it was the placement and placement only. The tattoo artist Emma and receptionist could not even look at us or explain why a 1.5inch tattoo was $275. We were very taken advantage of. I sent the tattoo to other people and everyone agreed. This isnt our first tattoo and we know how expensive tattoos can be and how they are priced. We are not from Seattle and they knew that we were not from here and they could charge us whatever they wanted. We asked them what a $100 tattoo looked like and it was an arrow smaller than a half an inch. Unbelievable. Do not go here if you are looking for a fair and decent tattoo or tattoo artist. Not to mention our work was completely copied from the web and not original AT ALL. It required no extra work for the artist to design the tattoo.

I went to pay them a visit yesterday to get it sorted out and the 3 front desk girls were rude and not helpful. They laughed and called my cousin a liar. They said there was a paper that showed the 1500 dollar amount but my cousin said there was not a paper shown. When I called them out on it they said why would we change our ways for 1 person?. I unfortunately did not share the same experience at Dzul with the piercer Catalina and thought it would be important to share so others done go through the same situation. I went in for a tragus piercing and paid a pretty penny for a flower stud. The amount though didn’t bother me as much as the nonchalant attitude Catalina expressed as she observed me endure pain due to her choosing the wrong size of earring for my ear. After what felt like an hour of tugging and pulling she finally secured the earring in place and I was able to leave. I want to point out that during the procedure she kept indicating that it was my fault that I was feeling so much pain yet I don’t understand how that can be when she was the one handling the whole situation, while I merely laid on the chair. Fast forward 3 weeks later and I end up in the ER because she in fact choose a earring too small for my piercing which ended up having the back piece of the earring fully covered by my skin and needing to be numbed with anesthetic so the doctor could cut a incision to remove the earring altogether. I should of trusted my gut during the piercing procedure as it was clear something had gone wrong when it was taking her an hour to pierce my tragus and the earring on. I felt her transparency was mediocre in explaining what was a error in judgment as she should of after performing so many piercings known which size is appropriate to avoid such situation. At this point I’m so thankful I avoided a infection and was taken care of at the ER due to me acting and observing the piercing but had I been fully reliant of the professionalism and work performed by Catalina I could have suffered a great deal. Please seriously consider the work you have performed at this shop and by whom.

My boyfriend and I had planned a trip to Seattle from Texas, paid our $100 deposit and was really looking forward to getting our tattoos together for our birthday month. Texas was in a state of emergency and all flights were canceled. Completely out of our control. However, even in a natural disaster, they refused to give our deposit back. Meanwhile we were stuck in our home in Texas with no water or power for about a week. We are both hourly employees and our places of employment have shut down (day 11), so we are without jobs currently. $100 may not seem like much to some, and I understand “rules”, but youd think in the middle of a pandemic when people are TRYING to buy local and support small businesses, that they would support people going through a natural disaster. They gave us 90 days to reuse the deposit, but they failed to listen to Daysik’s... we are not just around the corner. We are in Texas, we have 4 kids and it took 4 months to plan this trip.Disappointed in the lack of empathy for people trying their best to support them.

I am 52 years old and the images and concepts told the story of parts of my life. I sent them to Jacob and over 3 sessions and 15 hours he created and tattooed what I am referring to as the coolest tattoo in the world. I love it - it was absolutely worth the drive from Eugene to Seattle 3 times. It was a blast being in his chair, listening to music, and BSing with him. I have had 3 tattoos done by this shop and have always recommended them to others. However, my most recent experience has washed away all positive things I have said about them. About a month ago, I spoke with Alex their at the shop and discussed getting a piece done on my boyfriend. He was very excited to do it (or so he made it seem). At HIS request, I made an appointment for the following week to come in and we would discuss his details and pay a $300 deposit. Well, the day of that appointment came and my boyfriend and I showed up and waited around for over an hour for Alex and Jacob to show up. Neither of them did. I understand they are busy and I just shoved this under the rug. No big deal. We paid the $300 deposit anyway and rescheduled for three weeks later and left our ideas with the lady that was there. She told us that when we came back, they would have our design done and the tattoo would be done that day as well so plan on being there all day. So, 3 weeks go by and we show up for our appointment today only to be told that they scheduled it for the wrong day and that we needed to come back. WHAT? Not only was our design not finished, but we have to reschedule AGAIN?! What kind of business is this. Nobody there even cared that we travel an hour each way to get to their shop and are paying $600. What a complete waste of time. They all had such a cavalier attitude and acted like it didnt really matter. Needless to say I got my money back and we went somewhere else. Here is the best part, the shop we ended up going to took us as a walkin and did my boyfriends tattoo for HALF THE PRICE!!! So for any of you looking to go to Dzul...DONT DO IT!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! The receptionists/front desk designers are running off potential, new clients from these amazing artists. I asked to speak directly to the artists. I’m not the one to go back-and-forth and I don’t want receptionists amateurs telling me what I should put on my body, not what I want. So, I don’t want to work with them, just because of the receptionists running interference. Dzul has very talented artists from what I’ve seen. I have read the reviews and I totally agree, the receptionists are the reason for them not being as successful as they could be. So, I never booked my appointment, just because of the receptionists. The artists really don’t have a voice. The receptionists are more concerned about actually being called receptionists, than welcoming a potential, new client. Receptionists, front desk, all the same thing. I specifically requested to speak directly with the artist. You cannot and will not have the opportunity to speak to their artists without going through the receptionists.

I love Dzuls. The staff is super kind and knowledgeable. The first time I went to Dzuls I was 18 . 10 years later they still remembered me :) Thank you Cata. I love my dermal piercing . Will definately be coming back soon!

If I could give a Zero star I would. I have never left a review for anything before and am only doing so now since the tattoo I got was so bad. Everyone there was nice and friendly however the tattoo I got was very poorly done and I will forever regret going to this store to get permanent ink put on my body. Please be wary if you are going to get even the most trivial of tattoos because it will most likely come out very poorly as well

My encounter with this shop was brief but disappointing. I brought my daughter in on her 13th birthday to get her ears pierced for the second time. I was told the store policy was no piercing without an ID showing her age....they said a student ID would work but of course my daughter didnt have it with her. So therefore we ended up leaving without getting a piercing. After we left and thought about it for a moment we realized there policy makes zero sense because a student ID for a middle school student does not show any personal info like date of birth or address, just a picture of her and the name of the school. Secondly this was to be a second set of piercings, so obviously she was old enough for the first set. The place we ended getting her ears pierced didnt ask for an ID just parents consent. I suggest that you take another look at your policyUdate: Response to owners reply....... our family is blended and our daughter has a different last name than my wife, who also has a different last name than me. 1 family 3 different last names ...so according to your policy we still would not have been able to get her ears pierced....and we dont carry our birth certificates with us.....

Pricy snd piercer wouldn’t work with me! I got a dermal and she didn’t even know what she was doing. Very unprofessional and the next day my dermal came out and they wanted to charge the same! I DO NOT RECOMMEND! Unless you want your piercing messed up by the piercer

I got a single cartilage ear piercing here. It was done poorly, and I had to come back to redo it. With a second attempt they still could not do it right... My ear is fully healed now, and the stud is sitting in my ear with a weird angle - the piercing has to be redone again :(.

WAY OVER PRICED! I got the outline of a pretty small tattoo that took 45 minutes to finish, and the total came out to $275 and The lines arent even perfectly straight. I got no shading at all and no colors so a half done tattoo for that much is pretty ridiculous. If your gonna pay that much might as well go to slave to the needle where its $250 an hour and I would have actually got it finished for cheaper. Most shops run from $100 an hour to $150, but they price by the piece and I dont know how they determine price but its way off. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone.

DO NOT GO HERE FOR A PIERCING!! The lady who pierced my ear seemed like it was her first time piercing. She went to clean the area but was extremely rough, moving the jewelry around and pinching/pulling the area severely. Then she acted surprised that it was bleeding so much. Ive gotten many piercings from several different places and this was THE WORST experience Ive ever had. Worse than my first lobe piercings at Walmart when I was 7. Seriously go somewhere else. Literally ANYWHERE ELSE.

They refused to let me use my deposit for the next day because I could not stay and wait an additional thirty minutes for services because they took a walk in before my appointment. Was late due to president Biden being down the street however they refused to move my deposit for another day and I couldn’t not stay because I’m a single mom and have to pick my son up from day care. I think that’s pretty crazy they could not make an exception given that situation

Very Overpriced! Poor ideas for cover ups. Forced to accept a cover up I didn’t like and paid to hold my appointment only to lose money because when I changed my mind about what I wanted they again overpriced the work so I cancelled my appointment. I’m sure their work is good but still very overpriced!

Dont bother with this place. They dont listen to your requests and they just want your money up front before they will even take any steps to working with you and even then youll wait forever for an appointment. If you are asking them to draw art for you be prepared to be disappointed. You may as well just screen shot a clip art... that would likely be better than what they will create for you.

Let’s just say this place is unorganized, has a lack of communication and really doesn’t care for their customers. The only reason we chose this place was because we felt they were the best ones to exceed our expectations. They take your deposit regardless of your circumstances as if life doesn’t get in the way. Also they are way too over priced. I would not recommend this place at all!!!!
