I took my daughter (Shes 15) in to get her nose pierced. Rich said he had 4 people ahead of me and said I could wait or come back about 430pm (you can make an appointment online if you wanted. We just walked in). We came back at 430pm and he timed it perfectly. He was ready for us. He did great! He explained the process to her and the after care. I had him pierce my ear while we were there. He did an excellent job! Highly recommend. Thanks Rich!

Got my nose pierced here and I had a great experience while at the shop. The piercer was fun and felt like I wasn’t even there for a painful piercing. Got my nose done in August of last year and it swelled up pretty bad and the diamond on the stud was going into my nose. Then the infected bump showed up. I tried to heal it till about May of this year before having to remove it. Maybe I’ll go back and get a longer stud this time.

Got my nips pierced here and rich did an amazing job. I was so nervous but he made me feel so comfortable the minute I walked through the door. This place is awesome I would recommend rich for any piercings! :)

I took my daughter here for a daith piercing as a last ditch effort to stop her migraines. She also wanted her belly button pierced. The staff was AMAZING! Theyre incredibly knowledgeable about the services they off and explained everything to me (and directly to my daughter which I really appreciate) every step of the way. The services and cost of jewelry were extremely reasonable. I actually think they should be charging more for the experience and perfection of their staff and store. The store is extremely clean (and nicely decorated). We had a little bit of a wait and even in that short time we had another employee come to check on us that wed been helped. It was an amazing experience and I HIGHLY recommend to make this business the only place you get your body work done. I will definitely be going back here.

I had no idea where to take my 13 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. After asking a few friends, I chose Maya Modification. The appointment was with Rich, and the entire experience was pleasant, professional, and exceptionally clean and sanitary. Rich took the time to ensure the piercing placement was perfect. My daughter said the experience was pain free, and I was surprised by the fact that there was zero redness after the procedure. Highly recommend this establishment.

The owner has done a number of my tattoos and my nose piercing. She always gives her honest opinion on size wanted for tattoos, whether they should be bigger so they look better (detailed tattoos) or suggesting other locations. Very professional and clean shop. Jake pierced my sons ears and Rich pierced my and my younger sons nose. Both did a great job. The shop is very clean they sterilize everything right before you are pierced. They both explained exactly what they were doing and what is needed for aftercare. They are both highly recommended!

I came in to get my septum pierced for the THIRD time (the first two being from different studios.) Jake was my piercer and walked me through everything he was doing as he did it. He offered me a drink before we started and made sure Id eaten. When he was all set up he sat me down in the chair and made marks in my nose while also remarking at how low the scars from my piercings before were. He made sure I was comfortable and kept assuring me he wouldnt surprise me when the time to actually pierce the skin came. After it was all said and done he asked if I had any questions at all and he helped me pick out new studs for my ears. Now I got some cool mismatch earrings and a septum in the correct spot thanks to him.

Super professional and very clean. They were running on schedule for my appointment and narrated every part of the process, including explaining the autoclave & various equipment they used. I left feeling confident in my aftercare as well as comfortable to call back if I have any questions.They carry high end jewelry which is gorgeous but I was a bit surprised that piercing jewelry started at $50 and the first pieces I was priced were over $200. Definitely worth the money, though. I didn’t check out their website first, so I think this is on me but want others to be aware before arrival.

I received a flat piercing (the open heart piece.)My piercer was Rich. He was very friendly to me over the phone when booking my appointment (great first impression.) I arrived early enough to be able to discuss ideas. I was interested in multiple piercing but was not sure because of size and placement of my other piercings if it was possible. He gave me valuable feedback based off his experience and expertise. I also was impressed by their jewelry selection. These are forever pieces. He did not try to play a salesman role and allowed me to choose what I wanted for myself without tryin to convince me otherwise. I appreciated this. The piercing process itself was quick and painless. Again, the pride and craftsmanship shines through. Shop cleanliness and atmosphere are set to a high standard as well. I would highly recommend and plan to go back soon myself for more piercings before I return home to Texas.

Im not from Sioux City so when I made a trip down there I decided to get a nipple piercing with them. Rich did an amazing job and I was in and out of there in no time. I had my first tattoo done today and let me just say that I was blown away by my first experience. Eva did an outstanding job in both customer service as well as the quality of work. Throughout the entire process she made sure I was comfortable and happy with what was happening as well as working with me from the very beginning to create changes to my design. I was an non-traditonal customer so bear with me. I was in Sioux City from out of state meeting family who was also from another state. My mother was scheduled for an MRI on a Monday. On Saturday morning I attempted to help her remove a pair of earrings that she could not remove herself, that had been in for a year. Try as I might, I could not get them out. Not knowing what else to do I figured a piercing shop would have tools to get them out and found Maya Modifications online. I called and spoke to Rich on the phone to see if someone would be able to help remove them. He was beyond understanding of the situation, so very kind and accomodating. I brought mom in and within 5-10 minutes he had both of them out without causing her any pain! I wont lie, I was a little intimidated by the idea of going into a piercing shop (I have no tattoos myself or piercings other than tradional pierced ears and didnt know what to expect). The shop was absolutely immaculate and clean. Beautiful lobby. The atmosphere inside the shop was wonderful! But most importantly, Rich was friendly, inviting and took such care with my Mom. We quickly discovered that without special tools we would have never have gotten her earrings out, which most likely would have created a delay in Mom getting her MRI. Thank you again Rich!

On September 3rd I had made the final decision to get an industrial bar piercing. This has been something I’ve always wanted to do but to nervous to do it.My middle daughter highly recommend going here and having Rich be the one to do it. So, my oldest daughter went with me & well we both ended up getting it done. I loved that Rich took the time and gave his honest advice about what ear would work best and if we had the actual ear space. I am forever grateful for the honest answer to all of my questions that day.I’m still obsessed with this piercing.

I found the man of the piercing gods! I have been looking for Rich for literal years after he left his last place of employment, I found him! If you want quality time and piercings and someone who will listen to your every request (no matter if it’s crazy or not) he is your guy! He answers all concerns and questions with no hesitation, makes sure you know everything you need to know before getting pierced and he isn’t in it for just the money. I Had a tiny word tattoo done by Eve it turned out perfect and exactly what I wantedWhile I was there I told Rich the piercer I wanted my naval repierced he took one look and said that it most likely is still open and was able to get the piercing in without any pain or needle. I got my nose pierced by Maya Modifications. I am impressed by the professionalism and cleanliness. The gentleman that pierced my nose made sure everything was sanitized in between clients and made me feel comfortable. He was informative and knowledgeable about what he was doing and how to take care of my piercing. He made me feel welcome. I have no tattoos, but I would recommend Maya Modifications simply because of the adventure. I honestly enjoyed my time in Maya Modifications and hope they continue to succeed.

Mayas is my absolute favorite place for both tattoos and piercings! Great people and great work! Ive been to other places as I no longer live in the SC area and the experience never compares to what you get when you come here so I knew without a doubt that when my daughter asked to get her ears peirced where to take her. I have had nothing but excellent professional service from the employees that work here at Mayas. The first time I came here was to have my nose pierced 2 years ago... and Ill admit I was a little scared but once I got there and saw how they work... it was a piece of cake. They explain everything to you right down to the last detail... from what to expect from each step they took to what you might experience from the piercing. The second time was just recently on my birthday in April... I got my nose pierced out in Denver and it is about a month old. Needless to say, a mystery metal was used for the post. I don’t recall seeing my jewelry sterilized. I called Maya today because the infection and irritation that gradually developed and worsened was concerning. They were super kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and affordable. For as infected as my nose was, I was sure it was going to hurt REAL bad to have it changed and cleaned. Didn’t feel a thing! Rich was very gentle and chill. I highly recommend them. They were very upfront about the metals used, sterilization, and care process. All my questions were answered before I could even ask. They have such a very sterile process for piercings, even a simple ear piercing for my girls (6 and 9 years old). They did an amazing job working with my kids and they left saying it was the best day ever.

I came here one evening for a double piercing I had been wanting for years but always psyched myself out. This particular day I finally bit the bullet and went to do it. I was super nervous about the whole thing, but Eve was so reassuring and helpful during the whole process. She was very thorough in explaining what the piercing process would be like, keeping me informed what was going to happen before she did anything while also keeping me on track with my breathing. I have a few tattoos and piercings but this particular one I knew would be uncomfortable getting. The piercing was quick and gentle, before I knew it I was done! She gave me proper care instructions and answered my 8 million questions. It’s been 3 months and my piercings have done great & have been problem free! I’ve never come here before then but I definitely plan on coming back when I’m ready for more! I highly recommend Maya Modification to anyone!

I had my lobes redone here in 2019 after my holes had scarred over (Rich did amazing then also) and recently had my helix pierced. Rich has always made it a not so tantalizing event in a way I could appreciate. My only qualm was I did end up waiting a little longer for my appointment but it couldn’t be fixed. Either way the piercing technician helped me find the best spot to get my helix pierced and I honestly couldn’t say it could be in a better spot. Thanks, Rich!!

I went here last monday to get my industrial piercing. was super nervous bc this was the first cartilage piercing i was gonna get, but Rich, my piercer, explained everything thoroughly and was very quick. a week later it doesnt hurt at all and healing very good. the piercing itself was the most painful part. definitely recommend this place + Rich. (both pics are mirrored. i got the industrial on my left ear)

The one I had done elsewhere turned out horrible and I regret not going to Mayas in the first place. Great selection of jewelry and the staff are very knowledgeable about their services. I got a lip piercing here. The guy who pierced me had a vast knowledge of piercings! He also explained everything in great detail. I was glad because I was nervous to get my lip done. He told me what he was going to do and when and showed me all of the tools so I knew what was going to happen. I went back a couple weeks later to downsize the ring and it was a piece of cake! I asked him about sizes of lip rings and what I should look for and he explained everything so I now know what to get when buying new jewelry for the piercing. I had a good experience here and highly recommend someone come here, especially for piercings!

I have never got a tattoo here, nor do I know any notable tattooist here. However, I have always gone to Maya for like 6-7 years for any of my jewelry or piercing needs. Great staff, super clean and great place to get jewelry. Some people may say its expensive but its GOOD jewelry.

I ordered jewelry on Feb 14. Prepaid $130. Was told it would take a couple weeks to get it. Stopped in March 13. Told it would be in following week. No communication. Set up a time to come in and talk about this for June 15. She canceled June 14. I responded that I would be in. I wanted the jewelry or the prepaid $130. She responded by canceling my appt and refunding $65 saying I didnt want to wait for jewelry. Ive waited 4 months with NO communication except avoidance. This should have been in long before shutdown and she has been back open several weeks but still refused to discuss this. She ripped me off $65.

Maya is a very mean an un professional person she yells at her customers just for asking questions to there employees on jewelry I don’t recommend her shop in the behavior department I’ve gone to her shop twice an got yelled at just for asking general questions on pericing I wouldn’t recommend a single one of my friends into her shop until she fixes her attitude tords ppl that’s no way to treat a paying customer that is paying 80 to 150 doller plus for a piercing let alone tattoos I just think she needs to be more professional in her line an stop treating her customers like there dirt an hope people will be warned of her behavior

Just got a septum piercing and the service was so amazing! Couldnt think of how it could be any better

Extremely professional and was very through when explaining what he was going to do. He walked me through what he was doing before he did it and was also very kind and welcoming.

Loved my experience here Rich was so great at explaining and was really nice and I really appreciated him staying late will definitely be going back and will recommend to anyone
