I recently got a tattoo from Joe Alexander at Garfield Street Tattoo, and I couldnt be happier with the experience. Joe was incredibly polite, approachable, and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every detail about what goes into getting a tattoo done, which I really appreciated. The shop itself has a great setup and is very clean, which made me feel comfortable and at ease. Joes skill and professionalism impressed me so much that Im already planning to come back for another tattoo and might even bring a friend along next time. I’ve been seeing Reilley for over a year and have gotten 9 tattoos in this shop and I love it! It really seems like all the artists are friends and care for each other - the playful banter and conversations always make my appointments! Everyone is always friendly and communicative - plus the decorations are fun to look at while my stencil dries. :)

This shop is amazing and I wont go anywhere else for my piercings or tattoos. Joe was able to fit us in when my daughter said she had the bravery to get her ears pierced today with a same day appointment for the both of us! Joe is great with kids, and the whole shop was so supportive as my kiddo had her ears pierced, especially when she wasnt sure she wanted the second one. Quick and near painless, Joe is the best!

I liked the atmosphere however my cover up is an ugly black splash thanks to Shane who chose to ignore his co workers advice and do whatever was easier. He also went too deep in one spot so it didnt heal well. So if you go here for a cover up and they take you to Shane walk back out he cant do cover up work he will lie and say hes gonna fix his bad work on him and then youll never hear from him again. Sucks because I actually like the tattoo but it is not a cover up thanks Shane now I have to spend more $$$ to fix this if its possible.

I came here on a whim just after I moved back to Washington and was looking for Valentine’s Day flash tattoos in Tacoma on Instagram. I discovered Reilley’s flash sheet, which was adorable, and noticed the shop was right around the corner which sounded too good to be true. It was not. It was a very good experience. The shop is cute and clean and welcoming, and Reilley herself is very talented and made me feel right at home. It was also affordable. I love my tattoo. Her line work is great and my fat raccoon gets compliments pretty much ever single day. I look forward to coming to see her again.

I had my second appointment with Pirate for a brow and eyelash lift and tint. Which was amazing. I also had a tattoo done by Dezi and it was also an amazing experience.I highly recommend this place for good quality work and all the artists have incredible attitudes and are incredibly professional.

The only reason I’m giving this shop more than one star is for the actual tattoo itself. I went to the shop for the Friday the 13th sale, knowing it probably would take a bit just because of the sale. The star was very unprofessional, watching videos and walking around, in their phones while the waiting room was entirely full. It took 3 hours to get through for a 5 minute tattoo. When I went to pay, I had to pull out an extra $20 ($60 + $6 for tax) to cover taxes and asked for change and they told me they “had no change” even though it’s a cash shop. Felt shady.

Ive gotten three tattoos here now by Reilley and I couldnt be happier with them. Everytime I go in I feel comfortable and I have a great experience. I especially love just listening to whatever music Reilley has playing!

Staff was super nice. Clean shop joe was super cool to get my sister and I in same day to get our tattoo for our father who had passed and joe did a phenomenal job it came out amazing definitely would refer him to other people. Had been talking to one of their artists for a while about getting my hand done, but I just kept pushing it off till one day decided to just walk into the shop as I drove by. Turned out to be my best decision yet. My first impression was a very clean shop and a great welcome from the staff was able to set up my appointment and three days later got and amazing piece done. Definitely will be back for more ink soon

Got a Friday the 13th flash tattoo from the owner. The tattoo gun was having problems and it wasnt spitting out ink at times so the line work ended up being a mess. Lines are thick in some areas and then thin. The tattoo is heavily scarred. Couple of lines look like the ink is blown out. Really bummed.

Saw Joe today. (07.22.2022)Group was professional. The establishment was very home like, clean and made me feel relaxed as a parent bringing in their child for their first piercing. Joe went over piercing care management in detail including providing us with pre printed material for home.Would definitely go again should another child want a piercing. Thumbs up team and thumbs up JOE! (My son called all his friends to show off his new piercings!) He absolutely loves it!

I have gone to Garfield street for two tattoos and each time I had such positive experiences. I love how the whole shop compliments each others work and I received quality tattoos. This last one was from Dezi and she was so patient with me when it came to placement and script. I was indecisive and she really helped give her opinion and explain why a certain placement would be the best for potential future tattoos. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Highly recommend this shop and highly recommend Dezi!

Super unprofessional, and obviously inexperienced. We had Marcus, he took his time left us in the chair for over 30 minutes at a time. We didn’t even have the original appointment with him. It’s crowded, no Id check or wavier signing. So if ur underage go there. He over charged and damaged the needle splashing my wife Like 3 times. Find a different shop. Over all unsanitary.

Skill: I have had excellent work done by Reilley and Joe here. Theyre amazing! Havent gotten anything done by other artists, but Ive been around enough to see Angel, Destery, Dez, Gregory, and Reily (sorry if I misspelled any names) work, and I have only seen high quality things from all of them.Atmosphere: There are some pretty unwelcoming shops out there these days, but Garfield St isnt one of them. Mostly Chill vibes and casual professionalism. Lots of laughs. Theyre also kind to walk-ins, which is refreshing.Other: Though they focus on larger pieces, they do flash art sales here from time to time. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for details.

I now have 7 tattoos and just got the latest one done here by Greg. He was great super friendly and incredibly talented. I love The way it came out. He was helping me cover up so scarring and was really understanding too. Plus he gave me great advice about helping it heal faster. Definitely plan to go back!

So many great artists here. They do piercing with sales all the time. They have at least 8 to 10 tattoo artists. They do walk ins. Cash only but atm at their location. The owner is a pretty cool guy.

I requested a small cover-up and got turned away without any of the artist even looking at me. No one bothered to ask if I could be further assisted, or if Id like to get something else done. They practically treated me like I was invisible until it was time for me to pay for my sons ink. Was given a card to book an appointment....so far...*crickets. Its interesting to see folks turn money down these days. I will take my business elsewhere and give a fat tip to whoever works with me.

I was recommended here by countless people in the area, I can say it is one of the best, if not the best place in the Tacoma area to get ink work done. Great artists, clean, friendly environment to get your visions put on your body.

Great Place, Great Talent and Wonderful People! I was referred here by my friend Billy for my first tattoo that I was very hesitant to get as I am very picky. I didnt want an evil looking or goth tattoo and needed something girly, bright, beautiful and detailed. Lacie is my perfect fit of an artist and I absolutely LOVE my tattoo even though it is not quite finished yet. I am constantly stopped and asked who is working on it for me with people wanting her information which I am all to happy to give. I have had the pleasure of getting to know and see some of the other artists here as well and have and will continue to recommend Lacie and Garfield Street Tattoo to anyone who asks.

Ive been looking for a place to get my very first tattoo. Had been trying to connect with another tattoo place and given a deposit. They kept giving me the run around. I decided to keep looking. Found Garfield Street Tattoo which wasnt far from the other place so decided to stop in. I really, really liked Garfield Street Tattoo. It was clean and the owner was really friendly and listed to what I wanted. This is going to be the place I go for my tattoo. I loved the fact that he spoke about cleansing, germ control, white blood cell count, Etc. He REALLY knows what hes talking about. I have complete faith in him.

I had my industrial piercing done there today by Jimi and he was amazing not to mention the trainee he had. They explained everything before they started and as they were doing it. Not to mention he told me to come back if I ever had any problems with my piercing, what great customer service.

I got my first tattoo from Danny & he is the best. Very clean, knows what he’s doing. He’s also very patient so if you’re having pain he won’t be mad at you for it. Definitely getting my whole arm done by him.

The staff are very friendly and the place is clean. But this isnt a place to get piercings done. When I called the girl on the phone she said they used needles when piercings. This is not true. Danny is a very nice guy, professional by keeping his area clean. Using gloves But I didnt like that he used guns on both my earlobes and lied about it. They will tell you they used needles, but they dont. They are guns that come in separate packages. I did not want to be pierce with a gun, but a needle. If you want piercings done this is not the place. Especially if you want it done with a needle. I am very disappointed. I dont like being lied too.

Went in for tattoo from one of the owners Daniel for a sleeve tattoo. Bailed the first time, but rescheduled and finished the outline of it and after that set a date to finish it. Bailed out and I texted 3 days in advance if we are good to go for that date, texted me an hour before the appointment bailing. Now It’s been a week and I have been ghosted. Not replying after multiple attempts reaching out, very unprofessional . Took my money and went against his word. Now I am walking around with a tattoo half done and going to a different place to get it finished. First time ever leaving a review for anything and never thought I would be in this position. Go to this place at your own risk and be ready to deal with unprofessionalism, flakiness, and laziness.

Youngest wanted her ears pierced for her birthday, Joe talked her through the process and made sure she felt comfortable with it before poceeding. Loved how he handled the situation with her that I ended up getting my ears pierced too.

I went in on Saturday to make an appt. I was linked up with Marcus who told me he could get me in the following day. He didnt have business cards so he gave me his Instagram and asked me to send him the pics of what I wanted. I did before even leaving the shop. The following day TWENTY MINUTES before my appt, I got a message back saying he didnt have the colors needed nor did anyone else in the shop. He antes to rescheduled. So unprofessional.

The shop is clean. The artists are pleasent enough. Marcus whose working on me, professional snd patient with my flood and ever changing ideas. He listened and incorporated the work thats already on, the importance of the symbolism (a memorial piece) and the limited area he as to work with. Yap!! Its a full side piece. I trust Marcus to do his very best.

No call, no answer.His shop employee was helpful,and took our number so he could reschedule... but all in all,Thankful he did not show up!!We called Alternative Ink on 64th and Waller,and had a Great Experience over there!!Great Price, Super Helpful and knowledgeable,and Geniunely Cares!!Already forgot about this place, sorry.

Terrible. Was to go get a tattoo from Dez. But after I drove a hour to show the placement made the appointment. Was rudely ignored and disrespected the day of. Bad business terrible way to treat customers. Way better artist out there stay away

Garfield tattoo is indeed Awesome! I needed help covering up old scars and they worked with me patiently. The artist took his time placing the piece on me a few times until it looked perfect. Im going back! Ive been to a few places from Olympia to Des Moines.. Yawn. I found my guys👍

Great tattoo but poor service. I got my tattoo done by the owner of the shop and had a great expierience. We went to someone else for another tattoo just to support a friend of a friends business and now they wont ever let us get our tattoos done there. I didnt know that trying different shops was such a bad thing were young and i guess didnt know the rules? I however thought this was very petty but its whatever they service whoever they want.

Went in yesterday just looking for a quote on a memorial piece & lucked out that Angel had time to do it right then. She was absolutely fantastic & Im so happy with the way it turned out. I will definitely be back.

Danny is an amazing artist. He can take your vision and bring it to life on your canvas. He used his iPad Pro to take the drawing I had and overlayed it on my arm so we could get an idea of how it would fit and look on my arm. Was blown away by this. He did my girlfriends tribute tattoo for her grandmother and it came out amazingly.

5/13/16 I got 3 piercings done by Megan. I got my septum and dahlias pierced. She pierced my septum incorrectly at an angle and too low, it was not in my sweet spot and it bled like crazy and is not suppose to do that. The jewelry for that is suppose to hang and instead it lifted up towards the tip of my nose and would stay there. She then thought it was the wrong size jewelry and then came back 2 days later and switched it for different jewelry, you are not suppose to do that. The dahlias she did were not even, and she didnt use the proper jewelry, she first used a flat back you are not suppose to use those so she had to take that out because it was imbedding into cheek. She spent Id say 15 minutes trying to get the ball off to then insert an eyebrow ring into my cheek again not the proper jewelry. I took those out the next day because it was pierced in the wrong spot not evenly and hurt really bad and those started embedding as well. I went to see a professional piercer to have it looked at they said it was all done incorrectly and to remove the septum piercing. She came to my home to do these piercings. Her equipment was not sterilized with an onclave, she pulled out first aid wipes that help prevent infections it does not sterilize the equipment to prevent transmission of diseases like hepatitis. She began wiping down the clamps and jewelry with those first aid wipes before incorrectly piercing me. She is very unproffesional not licensed and not trained in what she is doing. I was recommended by a trained licensed professional piercer that I go get tested for diseases. I payed $30 for these piercings, I then asked her for my money back she said she would pay me back on Tuesday 5/17/16 she never payed me, so I contact her about this and she says she doesnt know when she is gonna pay me. I should have been payed back right away when I asked and I dont think I will be getting my money back at all from the sounds of things. She just got hired at this shop (probably because the owner doesnt care who he hires) and she told me I can come to the shop and get repierced for free, now why would I come back and get repierced by someone that doesnt get it right the first time and does not have sterile equipment? I wouldnt. I happily got it repierced by a trained licensed professional that sterilizes there equipment in the onclave right in front of you. So I recommend anybody that is trying to get pierced to not go to this shop.

They were knowledgeable and professional. They answered my questions and made sure I knew what I needed for my piercing after care. I was in and out in under 20 minutes.

1 star because I am so disappointed I got a very tiny tattoo and they charged me $60 my friend recommend me on this place and she told me the price because she have her tattoo done this place. She has a bigger tattoo and it’s only $80. They know I am first timer so they higher the price on me. I’m not happy at all. Super disappointed!!!!!!!! Not a great experience for a first timer.
